Had to make something for the two of my most favorite characters in Genshin! The underrated protagonists of Teyvat! And of course, our trusty emergency foo- I mean, friend that is Paimon! =) This was supposed to be posted a year or so ago, but I never had the energy to finish it until now. After turning my recent stress into motivation, I hereby dump this mess to all of you! Enjoy! ^v^

I finally decided to finish the genshin sumeru archon quests bc everything looks more interesting when I have to study for finals. And scara really shows up with “I’ve missed that look of abject horror… I entered her consciousness when I sensed your touch.” My first thought is “he wants me so bad!!!” I want him so bad!! I’ll fix him!! I’ll give him love!! (🤡)
Also the fact that I finished the big climactic fight and still have an hour or so left of act 5??? Hoyo is crazy

Dunno if you've done this before, but characters with tall reader!
This is mostly me being sick and having OC obsession brain rot, but the majority of my OCs are 5'9–6'0+ for reference by what I mean for "tall".
Love your writing, by the way! Keep yourself safe and make sure to treat yourself for all the joy you bring your viewers with your writing<3. Also, this is my first request:D
(Thinking about characters like: Venti, Diluc, Zhongli, Traveller, and whoever else you want to write/if you don't write for some of these characters, that's fine!)
౨ৎ them w a tall partner...
Tumblr media
send a request!┊masterlist┊taglist applications
FEAT... aether, venti, itto, alhaitham, diluc
A/N... hiiii anon tysm for the request!! i loveee this idea it's so cute so i'm more than happy to write it ^^ unfortunatelyyy i wasn't able to write anything for zhongli as i js couldn't think of anything, i hope that's ok!!! also thank youuuu! i'm so glad you like my stuff, nd please make sure you take care of yourself too!! hope to see you again soon, enjoy ♡ alsooo i tried out some new colouring!! i hope you guys like ittt i think it's prettyy :3 oh and disclaimer these heights may not be accurate!!! i got them from this website but it seems pretty reliable to meee
Tumblr media
✧ aether. - 5'4"
the traveller, the honorary knight, the swordfish II captain, the first sage of buer: just a few of the multitude of titles aether has earned from the many battles he's fought for teyvat. he's always fighting for people, protecting people, blindly jumping head-first into danger; he needs someone to protect him for a change, and that someone is you.
he always feels safe with you, and the way you stand behind him when he's chatting with friends or purchasing items from vendors makes him feel untouchable; evident by the way he practically melts under your touch.
one of the first things people tend to notice about you is your height, and although it doesn't really bother you, aether thinks it's ignorant and unfair. don't get him wrong, he loves your height, but there's so much more to you than that. he wishes people would notice your style, or your personality, maybe even your smile, anything. as long as nobody tries to steal you from him, he doesn't mind.
he'll often find himself being the little spoon while cuddling, and honestly, it's the thing he most looks forward to after a long day of completing commissions and collecting resources.
he loves how tall you are, how gentle you are, how loving you are; he loves all of you, and he hopes you love all of him too...
✧ venti. - 5'5"
venti loves the way you tower over him, and finds your subsequent protectiveness rather endearing.
your height sometimes intimidates people, and discourages them from wanting to strike up conversation with you. venti, however, was never bothered by it, and had no problem shamelessly flirting with you the very second you entered angel's share that fateful day.
the bard struggles to understand how people could possibly be afraid of you. of course, he knows how strong you are, and is aware of the lengths you'd go to in order to protect him, but nothing about your personality was something to be scared of.
the more he got to know you, the quicker he came to the realisation that you're really just a big softie - a gentle giant, if you will.
your impressive stature also means that you can carry him around. venti loves nothing more than being in your arms, face nuzzled into your chest as you take him to bed after a long day, or resting his head on your shoulder and forcing you to lift him up when he 'falls asleep''.
all in all, your boyfriend views your height is anything but negative. he loves you the way you are, and, as cliché as it sounds, wouldn't change anything about you for the world...
✧ itto. - 6'1"
no matter how tall you are, itto will give you piggyback rides. and you will enjoy them. to put it quite frankly, you don't have a choice.
even though you're taller than him, he still loves to have you in his arms, whether that means cuddling, carrying you around, or simply just hugging you from behind. something about having you in his hold makes him feel stronger and more confident than he ever has before.
the members of the arataki gang were shocked when they first met you, genta mistaking you for itto when he caught sight of your silhouette. nonetheless, they have all grown to be quite fond of you, and often leave small gifts on your doorstep which never fail to bring a smile to your face.
your height was something you sometimes felt ashamed of, however, itto always makes sure you feel happy within yourself, and will do everything in his power to wash the insecurities away; showering you in kisses and telling you just how perfect you are...
✧ alhaitham. - 5'10"
at first, alhaitham was slightly embarrassed that you were taller than him, not because of your appearance, but because of how he'd been relentlessly teasing his roommate for his height while having a partner who stands at an impressive 6'5"...
nevertheless, the scribe truly admires everything about you, and will often just stare. even though he wants nothing more than to have you in his arms, he's more than happy to admire you from afar, to watch you go about your day or make idle chit-chat with the local vendors so that he can just take you in; "archons, they're beautiful".
even though he stands shorter than you, he is extremely protective over you; intertwining his fingers with yours whenever he has the chance, and staring down anyone who 'looks at you wrong'. you often tease him for this, poking fun at his pout before kissing it away with a smile, only for it to return as you pinch his rosy cheeks.
the love alhaitham has for you is immeasurable, and the (not so) little things like your height only make him fall harder for you. his heart skips a beat when he feels your arms snake around his waist from behind, being pulled into your chest as you rest your head on his shoulder. yes, you could still do this even if you were shorter, but for him, nothing compares to being able to sink into you; he rather enjoys feeling smaller when he's with you...
✧ diluc. - 6'1"
you and your husband, diluc, stand at a similar height, him just slightly taller than you at 6'1". people often stare when you walk into a room hand-in-hand, but the darknight hero couldn't be more proud.
he never misses the chance to show you off, introducing you to everyone he knows while making sure to subtly flash the wedding ring he oh so gently slides onto your finger every morning. however, as soon as someone dares to make a rude remark about you, your husband has no problem stepping in front of you and handling the situation himself. yes, you're capable of looking out for yourself, but the redhead always feels the need to protect the ones he loves most.
the two of you are a package deal, and are rarely seen apart from each other unless absolutely necessary. diluc can't stand being away from you, and often finds his mind flooded with thoughts of you when he should be focused on the financial papers spread out on the desk before him.
being the taller ragnvindr, diluc often takes it upon himself to hand you items from higher up shelves, knowing full well you can reach them just fine by yourself. "given my stature, wouldn't it be rude not to hand my partner the things they couldn't possibly reach?", he always asks, pressing a loving kiss on your forehead and handing you whatever you were reaching for. such a tease...

Deus Vocat
'Just how close to divinity does the god-machine get?' Pretty darn close, as it turns out. The rest is entirely up to you and Scaramouche. [p1] [p2 - you are here!] [p3]
Notes: Genshin SAGAU, cult au, mostly confusion and miscommunication in this one. mild swearing. still pre-3.2 plotwise!
WC. 1.6k
----- ⚘ -----
Three days and three nights. That’s how long Scaramouche waited to hear Your voice again. The more the hours drew out, his temper became increasingly volatile every time the nervous technicians would open the Shouki no Kami’s cockpit to check up on him.
Each time he would kick them out and slam the cockpit shut, even nearly taking off a mechanic’s arm with the face plates. His patience runs thinner with every passing moment.
Nearing dawn of the fourth day, finally he feels that strange buzzing connecting behind his ears. He stiffens and pulls himself upright, blinking weariness out of his eyes.
“Your Grace?” he mumbles, the sudden drop in pressure in the cockpit makes him dizzy. “Is that you?”
Your voice crackles over the connection, sounding a little farther away. “Hey, yeah, it’s me again. How're you holding up?”
“What took you so long?” is what he replies, the words coming to him despite his head warning him that You are the Divine Creator. “Do you know how much work I could’ve gotten done in the time you took to get back to me?”
“What? It’s been, like, an hour at most.” You reply, sounding skeptical. “Don’t tell me you’re the impatient type.”
“An- an hour?!” Scaramouche runs the math in his head quickly, frowning. “Is there such a time dilation between your realm and mine?”
“What do you mean?”
Scaramouche growls with frustration, rubbing his temples as he feels a headache coming on. “What are you not understanding here? I didn’t think the Creator would be so ignorant of their own creation.”
“... what?”
“Are you being deliberately obtuse? Are you even who you say you are? You wouldn’t be the first to have delusions of grandeur to bring some sort of momentary excitement into their pathetic, insignificant lives.”
“Woah, calm down, buddy,” you say, a warning in your voice. “Let’s just take it from the top, okay? Hello, my name is,” you repeat your name for him. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Scaramouche takes a breath and rolls his eyes, then reluctantly complies with the direction you’re taking.
“Hello, I’m Scaramouche, The Balladeer, Sixth of the Fatui Harbingers, and I’m currently dealing with an idiot problem.”
“I’m gonna let that one slide for now,” you respond curtly. “Now tell me, ‘Scaramouche’, why did you call me today?”
“You say it as if I somehow did it on purpose.”
“Didn’t you?” The raised eyebrow is audible in your tone.
“Of course not!” Scaramouche snaps, patience waning. “Dottore’s stupid god-machine did something to my head, obviously, and now there’s some kind of connection to you that I have no idea how to control.”
“... god-machine?” you ask, sounding genuinely confused. “What are you talking about?”
“The god-machine that the sages commissioned,” Scaramouche explains slowly, smugly, as if he’s talking to a child. “If the gnosis’ connection to divinity is successful, I will be named the new deity of Sumeru and take over the position of that pathetic little god, Buer.”
“You’re going to what to who?” you question again. “Hang on, is this spoilers? I didn’t get that far in the story yet…”
“What do you mean, ‘story’?” It’s Scaramouche’s turn to be confused now.
“Y’know, ‘cause you’re RPing that guy from the game, right? I’m not at that point in the questline yet so, uh, thanks for spoiling the story for me, I guess.”
“This isn’t a game!” His temper flares and he pounds his fist against the face panel of the cockpit, the clang resounding in his ears. “Damn you, is that how you see us, then? As some kind of sick game for your personal amusement?”
“Wow, you’re really taking this personally, huh? It’s not that serious, man, you need to calm down for a sec-”
“I will not be calm!” Scaramouche thrashes about in the cockpit, kicking and punching the interior and creating a hellish metallic sound. Behind him, the tubes slap and rattle around, threatening to disconnect from his sockets if he continues his tantrum. “The Divine Creator just told me that they view our existence as a game!”
Your voice takes on a tone of annoyance, though you appear to be trying to suppress it. “Listen, I looked it up on the wiki, and there's nothing there about this supposed ‘Creator’ character, so I know you’re full of shit. Just cut it out, okay?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Scaramouche shouts into the empty cockpit. And that’s the root of the problem, isn’t it? Clearly he and the Creator aren’t seeing eye to eye on something, here, and it’s causing a terrible miscommunication.
With a great heaving sigh, he tries to reign in his temper.
“What can I do to prove to you that I’m serious, right now?” He asks through gritted teeth.
There's a sound like static that fills his head and he cries out in pain, clutching his ears as if that might stop the noise.
“Hypothetically, let’s say you’re Scaramouche from the game,” Your voice filters in through the static. “Like, the actual NPC or something. The only way I’d believe you is if you do something in-game that’s out of the ordinary. I’m logging in right now, so if there’s something weird happening I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.”
Scaramouche’s thoughts race through his head, though he has no idea what half of the words you say mean, and he wracks his mind trying to think of something he could do to show his presence.
“Where… where are you right now?”
“I’m doing the quest in Pardis Dhyai,” you answer, and sure enough Scaramouche feels a faint tug that he’s come to associate with the Traveler’s presence coming from the direction of the laboratory. “I’m fighting with some Eremites right now.”
Pardis Dhyai, where he knows Haypasia is being kept. The woman had connected with his consciousness briefly during one of the early god-machine tests Dottore had forced him to do. It very nearly put him out of commission for a week, but sharing his consciousness had been proof irrefutable that he could channel divinity, at the time.
“Okay, stay there, I’m going to try something.” He says, and attempts to concentrate on the location. In his mind, he conjures the feeling of static and ozone and aims, internally cheering when he feels the power connect with bodies. “Did you see that? Did I get them?”
“Get what?”
“The thunderbolts!” He says, incredulous. Surely there was no way to miss that, right?
“That’s part of the quest, I saw the walk through of this part,” you huff. “You’re really not convincing me, here.”
Frustration bubbles up and Scaramouche chews his thumb as he tries to think of something else, and that’s when he feels it.
The Traveler touches Haypasia.
A bolt of energy courses through his head, and in the distorted reflection of the metal cockpit he sees his eyes flash again.
He follows an instinct, reaching out to Haypasia’s consciousness and, by extension, the Traveler. He grabs the tether in his mind and pulls, feeling himself travel across time and space, until he’s in Pardis Dhyai.
He blinks and looks around, the faded scenery looking exactly as it had when Haypasia had contacted him. There, standing beside his follower’s unconscious body, is the Traveler.
“Where are you?” Scaramouche asks through the connection, trying to sense if you've left him once again. “There’s nobody else here.”
“... Huh.” Your voice comes through the connection in his head, but also through vibrations in the air. “That’s definitely not part of the cutscene.”
“What the hell is a cutscene?” He demands, still looking around for the source of your voice.
“Right, that’s creepy. Is this a glitch?”
“If you tell me what your words mean, maybe I can tell you.” Scaramouche growls, then points at the Traveler. “You, where is the Creator? I know they’re around here somewhere, I can feel it.”
“No way.” You say, incredulously.
“Huh?”
“Scaramouche, jump up and down three times.”
He looks around again, before settling his gaze on the Traveler. “Why should I do that?”
“You’re trying to prove that you're in the game, right? I can see you right now, so if it’s really you I want you to jump up and down three times.”
Feeling supremely foolish, but willing to humor you on the off chance you aren’t lying to him, Scaramouche gives three halfhearted hops, and immediately crosses his arms.
“Happy now?” he growls.
To his extreme surprise, and slight horror, the Traveler jumps three times as well.
“Oh my god, you’re actually in the game? Like, you’re the character in the game?” You ask, breathless, a tinge of hysteria creeping in. “No way. This doesn’t happen in real life. Games don’t just become self-aware like this. Am I dreaming?”
“Whatever you’re talking about, you better tell me really quick or else…” Scaramouche trails off for a moment, unsure of what he could really do to you, given the metaphorical distance. “Or else I’ll be really angry with you,” he finishes lamely. In front of him, the Traveler’s eyebrows furrow slightly.
“You’re not supposed to, like, know about me,” you continue, raising in octave slowly. “You’re not real! Is my life just a creepypasta right now?”
“Would you cut that out?!” Scaramouche half-shouts, in an attempt to be heard over your frantic voice. He can feel the connection between the two of you waver with each passing second. “Whatever you’re doing, stop panicking!”
“I think I’d like to panic, actually,” you say, and the connection goes dead.
Empty air fills the space behind Scaramouche’s ears, and he snarls in frustration at having been left hanging once again. For a second, he almost forgets the presence of the third party in the room. He looks up and stops his muttering at the sight of the Traveler’s dumbfounded, and slightly scared expression.
“You can hear them?”

House Call
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Pairing: Aether, Diluc, Tartaglia x Reader (Separately)
Summary: Genshin characters and you playing nurse
Word Count: Aether - 467, Diluc - 635, Tartaglia - 661, All - 1,763
Warnings/Extra Notes: Mentions of blood, Mentions of injuries (nothing too graphic), Mentions of death, Mentions of hospitals, Slight cussing, Can be seen as slightly suggestive (Diluc's part), Slight spoilers, Use of Childes multiple names, Not proof-read (pls excuse any grammatical errors thx), Lmk if there's more!
Aether:
Being in a relationship with Aether -the Honorary Knight of Mondstat, the Hero of Liyue, the Captain of Swordfish II in Inazuma, the First Sage of Buer in Sumeru, plus whatever other title he will inevitably get- wasn’t always the easiest believe it or not. Not because he would ever treat you unwell (you guys had your petty fights, then again, what couple didn’t?) he'd rather die than hurt you (his words, not yours). It was more so the things that came with him being an adventurer. You know, not staying at a place longer than needed, helping everyone that you'd come across, the very frequent run-in with death. Normal things.
But you would be lying if you didn’t admit how worried you would get for Aether. You know he can handle himself, that at most he would come back with a few scratches (usually), but it could still make you lose sleep. He would never tell you when he was hurt (Something about not wanting to worry you? What a weirdo.), and you know he doesn’t really take care of himself, often putting others before himself. Which, ironically, only made you worry more because sometimes he would come back with an injury that requires more attention than a scratch. Sometimes he would come back limping, unable to hide that he was hurt. Sometimes, which includes right now, you would freak out seeing the state he was in.
You guys were in Liyue for a few days before you continued your journey to Mondstat. Aether had just left to finish his daily commissions while you patiently waited for him at the inn. After a while, you started getting worried he never took this long to clear out a few hilichurls. Your worries were cut short with the sharp sound of the door unlocking and your boyfriend hastily walking in. You froze, noticing the still bleeding cut on his arm, starting at his shoulder and ending near his elbow. Aether was frantically trying to make sure none of the blood dripped off his arm all the while asking you about your day. Watching the blood still drip down his arm, you were about to scold him for being so reckless but decided against it. You noticed how quickly his face lit up once he saw you despite being in tremendous pain and couldn't bring yourself to be upset at him. Instead, you grab a towel to cover his arm and start dragging him to Baizhus pharmacy for proper treatment.
"You should have just gone to Baizhu first." you mumble, glancing back at him.
"I wanted to see you first," he replied, averting his gaze from yours. "I missed you."
Oh. You might need to see Baizhu too. After all, your heart wasn't supposed to beat this fast, right?
Tumblr media
Diluc:
Getting to know Diluc at all was already a difficult task. Truly getting to know Diluc was somehow even more difficult, but you managed. It took a lot of time and even more patience, but you managed. He let you in fully, and you wouldn't dare to leave. You knew about his nightly activities, and while you would often make fun of it or get worried over him, you supported him nonetheless. At first, you were skeptical (I mean really? Running around at night killing abyss mages in a silly mask? Yeah, okay) and didn't really believe him. But the first night he came home with fresh new scratches and bruises, you quickly realized he wasn't joking.
The first time he came home all scratched up, you rightfully panicked. It was just the break of dawn, the sun slowly started to pour into the room through the tiny gaps in the curtain. You woke up to an empty bed, which freaked you out, to say the least. Diluc would still be in bed around this time, but maybe he just headed downstairs earlier today? You slowly got out of bed and started to head downstairs. You, in all your sleepy glory, bumped into multiple different walls on your way down. But those minor "injuries" were absolutely nothing when compared to what you saw on Diluc. Diluc was downstairs, in the kitchen, calmly cleaning up the blood around a bruise on his stomach. You froze in the middle of the doorway for two reasons: 1) Oh my god, is that blood? Is he hurt? Why is he hurt? and 2) Oh my God, is he shirtless? He seemed to have noticed you since when you finally came back to your senses, you saw a sheepish smile on his face while he greeted you.
That day, you learned that he would come home and quickly get cleaned up before heading back to bed to greet you. He didn't want to show you the ugly sides of what he does or something along those lines. You, on the other hand, would have none of it. After that day, you would wake up earlier (or stay up later) to take care of him. Diluc obviously protested, he didn't want you to worry or lose sleep over something so trivial (his words, not yours). But in the end you got your way, and months later, you don't regret it.
In the present day, you woke up a little before dawn break, already in the kitchen waiting for Diluc to come home. You didn't have to wait much longer, since Diluc strolled into the kitchen as if he didn't spend all night fighting against abyssal creatures. He sent a warm smile your way, one which you gladly returned, before leaning against the counter next to the sink. You swiftly got to work cleaning and wrapping up all the wounds littered around his skin. Times like these were always oddly calming; the sun would slowly be rising, the birds would start chirping, and the maids in the manor weren't shuffling around yet. It was just you and Diluc...
"Did you sleep well?" Diluc asked, breaking you from your thoughts.
Ah, the main thing you loved about these times: Diluc and you got to spend time with each other uninterrupted and unbothered by the business of the day.
"Would've slept better if you had been there." you replied, cleaning the last bit of blood around his neck and looking up to meet his gaze.
Diluc smiled a bit before wrapping his arm around your waist, pulling you closer, "Then I'll be there tonight."
You smiled back before resting your head on his shoulder, cherishing the moment of bliss you get before starting your day. Yep, months later, you still don't regret a thing.
Tumblr media
Tartaglia:
Falling in love with Ajax was one of the most terrifying things you've experienced. He was a Harbinger for the Fatui, a diplomat for Snezhnaya, and not to mention his insane blood-lust. You knew falling for someone like him would only cause you pain, physically and mentally. But, ignoring that, you were also terrified of how he made you feel. You've never experienced love like this. You've never experienced butterflies so intense, your heart never skipped so many beats, you never lost your words that much, and you never ever felt so sick. All over minuscule things he'd do too... So, despite all the red flags and other obvious reasons you should've ignored him, you couldn't stop yourself. Which led to a couple months of mutual pinning between the two of you filled with the most corny and endearing clichés you could think of. Thankfully, it ended with Childe confessing his undying love for you with the most bashful smile you've ever seen. Another (welcomed) cliché.
Even before you were in a relationship with the 11th harbinger, you were aware of the dangers of his job. You knew that Childe getting into fights and getting the occasional bruise was something to be expected. And Childe never hid any of his scars from you, always seeming to come to you to get his scrapes cleaned up. So you never worried too much over him. He didn't hide anything from you after all. You also knew how great a fighter Childe was. Sure, sometimes he could be a bit too reckless, but he always managed. Which, in hindsight, you should've questioned. Getting into constant fights with some of the strongest people in whatever region he was in and then coming back without any major injuries? Yeah, okay.
Truth be told, Childe would (obviously) get help before meeting up with you, but he also loved when you would take care of him. Leading him to only get his major injuries dealt with before meeting you. He wasn't embarrassed about any injuries he got, it's not like he didn't want to tell you about them... He just didn't want to freak you out and possibly scare you away. But that's a conversation for another time. In the end, you still found out, and not because he told you. Nope! You found out through a few Fatui soldiers talking about a certain Harbinger being rushed to the nearest clinic once they got back.
The second you heard Ajax's code name fall from their lips, you started running to the clinic that the Fatui would frequent. During the entire trip there and the whole process at the front desk, you could practically feel your heart in your ears. After what felt like years, you were finally able to see him, and Archons, did you have things to say to him. Bursting into the hospital room, you quickly went to grab his face before turning it all over.
"Archons Ajax! Are you alright- No, how are you feeling?" you rush out, fear and concern evident in your voice.
"Babe? What are you doing here?" he questioned back instead.
"What am I doing here? Did you expect to hide this from me?" you asked in response. At this point, you had stopped trying to look at all his bruises and looked straight into his eyes. Both the fear and concern that was evident in your voice, was also evident in the way you held him.
His lack of response caused you to go on a mini-rant,
"You idiot, how could you be so reckless? Don't ever do something like that again."
"Be more careful next time, or else I'm not gonna kiss you anymore- I'm being honest this time!"
The rest of your scolding fell on deaf ears as Childe looked at you with the softest smile that ever graced his pretty face. He really did love you and it was clear you loved him back just as much.
Notes: *awkward cough* hi- ANYWAY. Please take this cutely domestic little post I totally spent the past three months on it. No I didn't I was just lazy. Notice how each drabble got longer and longer yeah I have issues.

aether looked up at the night sky, laying down in a clearing. the grass was cool and the air was warm, dew beginning to form around him.
he’d woken up before the sun, and now he watched as the last dredges of night were sapped from the sky. falling stars still dared to streak, skirting the line between day and night.
when one of the stars seemed to grow, his first thought was worry. then, as it began to take shape, he realized it was too small for anything dangerous. he sat up, hair spilling around his shoulders, and reached for the star when it got close enough.
to his surprise, his hand passed right through the outside of it, and it burst apart into a thousand tiny flakes. he was left with an envelope and small pouch in hand, and he brought it down so he could read the writing on the front.
it was addressed to him- him, aether, not ‘the traveller’ or ‘honorary knight’ or even ‘outlander.’ him.
he shouldn’t be so surprised you knew his name, but it has been so long since he’s heard it from anybody other than paimon that he pauses for a moment, staring at his name written on the paper.
he recovers quickly enough, opening the envelope and pulling out the simple sheet of paper within.
darling aether,
first and foremost, i hope you are doing well. i know your journey is a long and tiring one, and i hope that you slept well last night. you deserve it.
i’d also like to apologize for how long it has taken. please trust that i am doing my best to reunite you and your sister, and that i hold you as a highest priority. i know it seems like it is taking forever, but i promise i am trying. there are limitations on my end—if i had it my way, you two would have reconnected long ago.
that being said… enclosed is a small necklace, of which i have sent a matching one to your sister. i have no promises she will be wearing it when you next see her, but i hope it gives you at least a small sense of comfort. in addition, the bag should contain enough mora to cover commissions for a week or so—please, take a break. the world can be exhausting, and pushing yourself to constantly help others is no way to stay healthy.
please, keep faith in this world. i know the gods have done little—save for nahida, for whom i am ever-thankful—and their behavior irks me as well. just… stay strong. i trust in you and your abilities, and in turn i hope you trust me to guide you through this world.
to the traveller, to the honorary knight, to the captain of swordfish II, to the first sage of buer, to aether: you have done well. i am proud of you.
(p.s.: i hope you have enjoyed the meteor shower tonight. it was quite lovely, in my opinion)
day broke, dawn rose.
birds cried around him, heralding a new day, and aether set down your letter. he reached for the bag, ignoring the jingle of the promised mora and pulling out the necklace. the charm was small, just a simple gold outline of his sisters sword, the one she had when they used to travel together. he fumbled a bit with the clasp, but soon it was on, the charm resting underneath his scarf.
a reminder of his sister, who he lost in the fall to teyvat.
a reminder of his true god, who was not as cruel or heartless as the ones in this world, who assisted him more than they ever could.
a reminder of you, of your love, of your persistent faith in him, equal to his in you.
aether clutched the pendant tight in his hand, and he cried.
he couldn’t have asked for a better gift.

why lyney x aether just makes sense
no traveller ship has ever rlly worked to me (other than ayaka bc it was very heavily hinted in canon) UNTIL TODAY. HERE IS MY FORMAL DISSERTATION ON WHY LYNETHER WORKS
neither of them have pairs - genshin purposefully does this thing where they pair up characters (eg: chongyun & xingqiu, jean & lisa) which is why there are so many popular ships in the fandom. i think lyney's effective pair is meant to be lynette & aether doesnt have one bc hes meant to be a player-insert but that leaves SO MUCH ROOM bc when you think about it the closest thing lyney has to a love interest IS AETHER
siblings - both of them are elder brothers and both are TWINS . they also both have a youngest sibling figure (freminet and paimon; dont tell me paimon isnt a younger sister figure bc if u open a modern au ALMOST ALWAYS she is presented as "aether and lumines younger sister") their backstories are similar (losing their other half) so they canonically understand each other (There's nothing in the world I treasure more than my family, so I know what it must be like for you -Lyney, Friendship LV4) THIS LEADS INTO MY OTHER POINT
the "i see past your mask" trope - this is a very popular trope (and one that ngl kills me everytime i read it bc it preys on the human desire to be fully understood) BUT it was made for lyney . if youve watched ouran highschool host club HIKARU AND KAORUS "we are the only two who understand each other... until haruhi arrived" IS NOT DISSIMILAR TO WHAT COULD HAPPEN WITH LYNEY, LYNETTE AND AETHER . and lyney was BORN to fit this trope bc he already has the whole fake, charming, extrovert persona he puts on. ("Actually, the real me is nowhere near as outgoing or chatty as I appear. (...) I think people would feel sorry for the real me." -Lyney, friendship LV6)
narrative - a big thing about ships is they need to have a faucet for tension . like xingyun is extremely hinted in canon but its nowhere near as popular as kavetham and zhongchi. why? because theyre just childhood best friends. nothing interesting about it. zhongchi especially is hugely popular bc of the potential for reconciliation after the osial arc (zhongli's "im sorry for manipulating you. it wasnt all fake i swear" sorta thing) AND YK WHAT ELSE HAS THAT??? FURINA REVEALING LYNEY AS FATUI IN THE TRIAL "im sorry for lying about my identity. it wasnt all fake" the core that makes ships like satosugu and zhongchi tragic is the betrayal of trust, and, well... ("Nothing could make me happier than having your trust." -Lyney, Ascension 4)
binary opposition - why is satosugu so popular? probably because its the whole 'cruel murderer villain' vs 'strongest hero' trope and audienced like sun vs moon . okay . AETHER IS LITERALLY THE HONORARY KNIGHT OF MONDSTADT, HERO OF LIYUE, ENEMY OF ETERNITY, FIRST SAGE OF BUER and lyney is THE FUTURE SUCCESSOR TO THE HOUSE OF HEARTH . the villain of genshin impact (currently) is the fatui so you cant get better than this.
canon hints - even if ships would theoretically work well and have potential for tension, they need to be grounded in the source material. so does lynether have that?
"Hmm, your eyes are like topaz, precious, pure, and lovely. I like them! I've decided — I'm going to put on a show just for you."
"I thought it was the radiance of the sunlight on my skin that I felt — turns out it was your radiance all along!"
"I should probably emphasize again that I'm rarely so open with anyone — I guess it's because you're not just anyone."
"It seems we're both keenly interested in each other. Well, know that the honor is mine! Haha, relax. I couldn't ever tell lies to your mesmerizing eyes — not even if I tried!"
"Doing all this for me... Are you trying to steal this magician's heart, by any chance? Well, in that case, congratulations, my dear apprentice — or should I say, "companion." For you have succeeded!"
canonically, lyney gets upset when aether thinks abt other things when hes in fromt of him. HES LIKE A POUTING CHILD THAT GOES "pay attention to me!!!" LMFAOO
the rainbow rose, need i say more? lyney literally gets flustered when lynette brings it up too pfft
most of the stuff he says can be attributed to lyney just being a flirt but in cases like the rainbow rose scene where he literally does it BECAUSE HE KNOWS AETHER WOULDNT GET IT... there is no platonic explanation bc if there was, if it meant Friendly Love THEN THE DEVELOPERS WOULDNT HAVE ADDED THE NOTE ABOUT LYNETTE NEVER GETTING ONE considering shes the most important person to lyney...
in conclusion, ive rambled for too freaking long but THEY WORK . AND THERES ALSO POTENTIAL FOR A WHOLE LONG DISTANCE YEARNING ARC BC AETHER ALWAYS TRAVELS SO... FANFIC WRITERS CHOP CHOP

Miscellanous Stroll. (ii)
Tumblr media
Quo; A scenario for Genshin characters! (SAGAU)
Characters; Traveler, Paimon, Nahida, Al Haitham, Tighnari, Collei, Nilou, Cyno, Faruzan Candace, Dehya, Kaveh and Cyno.
Notes; One of the old shots in my draft. This one is pretty long.
Disc; This is not a character study or anything else whatsoever. Purely self-indulgent.
The Creator/Guide is named Raphael.
[Miscellanous Stroll] ( i )
“ Are you sure this is a good idea? ” The Traveler questioned after a moment, sipping on their energy drink– they would not leave without that– and the Guide blinked, eyes wandering across the field in absolute certainty.
“ Honestly, no. Someone might die, ” The Guide remarked casually, a flat look on their face. On the side, Nahida blinked before giggling and Raphael had half the mind to question why the tiny god was giggling at the prospect of death. At the least, someone would come out of this half-dead and traumatized for life.
Joy.
“ Have some faith in them! I think this would be a fantastic experience. ” Nahida said with enough enthusiasm that Raphael could be blindsided by it. But knowing them all, Raphael's doubt skyrocketed.
“ Your Eminence, the arena is all set! ” Zuha, the assigned architect, called from the side. His face was etched with a smile that oozed confidence.
The Guide hummed approvingly, following the architect as he chortled about the successful development of the arena. There were a few errors here and there– which they couldn't understand because it was just an arena –since they had never seen such a design but it didn't take more than a day or two to get the functions and necessities needed.
A few other helpers were finishing up the field, checking the plates to make sure the arena was safe to use.
Raphael placed their hands on their hips, huffing in content. Nahida peeked from behind their legs, curious green eyes peering at the unfamiliar sight. Although she was the God of Wisdom, the knowledge the Guide possessed was beyond hers. The Traveler and Paimon marveled from the side before Paimon's expression twisted into that of confusion.
“ Uh, what is this arena for? ” the floating fairy questioned predictably. Raphael's body trembled and for a moment the others were quite concerned before the Guide burst out laughing in a villainous fashion.
Then, they stopped to clear their throat. They reached into their pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. With an innocent smile, the Guide handed it to the Traveler, who glanced at it in suspicion. Once the Traveler took a look, it was actually a list of names.
Then, with a shit-eating grin and sparkles around them, the Guide ushered the Traveler. “ Do me a favor, oh humbled Traveler and kidna– ehem, I mean, fetch these people. ”
The Traveler didn't even hesitate the flat look they sent the Guide– who ushered them away even harder.
Nahida sipped her milk tea, taking her time to swallow it down. Raphael glanced at her and she stared right back. She smiled and the Guide shivered.
This gremlin–
Tumblr media
It doesn't even take long– damn, the Traveler is good –for the affronted First Sage of Buer to kidna– ehem, bring over the listed people. Who were all very familiar people. All of them greeted the Guide as well as the Dendro Archon. Nahida looked quite pleased to be held up by the Guide.
“ So, what have we been called here for? ” Surprisingly, it's Tighnari that broke the silence. Anyone would have expected it to be Dehya or Cyno considering the situation. Curious eyes immediately fell on the Guide.
“ Easy. You're testing out one of my new projects. ” The Guide shrugged, pointing at the newly develop arena. All of them took a look at it and no one knew what it was about. Not even Kaveh, who was frowning.
Raphael took a double look at the arena and decided to screw it, I'm telling them. “ Actually, you're playing it. ” The look of confusion just doubled and the Traveler coughed from the side in subtle amusement.
“ Slipper Propeller. It's Slipper Propeller. ”
Confusion turned into deep perplexity and slight concern.
“ Oh, c'mon! ”
The Traveler cackled from the side.
“ That aside, we're gonna start now– and yes, I will explain it– and yes, I know you're still mad about UNO, Cyno. ” Raphael raised a hand to stop the general, who glowered as he slowly put down his hand. Nilou patted his back good-naturedly.
“ The game is really simple. There are two teams, each team will have a total of five people. There is gonna be a stand of slippers in the middle. ” The Guide explained, halting to stifle a laugh when they saw the look on everyone's face.
“ The objective is to knock down that slipper stand. A team is given three chances to knock it down, if they fail to do so, the opposite team will get the chance to do so too.
If the slippers dropped, the main group would start targeting and try to eliminate the opposite team using their own slippers. Victory is achieved whether the main group can eliminate everyone first or the other team can successfully rearrange the slipper stand. ” Raphael ended with a smile when they noticed the thoughtful look on all of the participants' faces.
They couldn't help the internal villainous laugh they had.
They ignored the look Nahida sent them. Or the one the Traveler gave.
“ Sounds interesting. I certainly hadn't heard of this sort of game. ” Al Haitham spoke up with a thoughtful nod. He didn't seem that interested but there was an odd glint in his eyes.
Cyno sighed, “ It seemed that I've been subjected to one of your games, once more, Guide. ” he sounded resigned enough that Raphael almost felt bad for holding back their laugh. Almost.
“ Well, I got a lot of free time so I don't mind playing it. Slippers Propeller, you called it? Definitely not a local game. ” Dehya commented, stretching her hands with a wistful grin. She was hooked the moment she heard the 'throwing slippers' part of the game.
Wanderer snickered from the side, fixing his hat. “ I don't see the purpose of this game. Is this one of your needlessly past time? ” he glared and crossed his arms. The Guide blinked as they fixed Nahida's position in their arm.
“ I mean, if you don't want to, the Tra– ”
“ I never said that, did I? Stop putting words in my mouth. ” Wandered glowered with a discontent huff and Raphael just pinched the bridge of their nose in exasperation.
“ I don't know how a scholar like myself would be able to provide for this game, unlike UNO– which I won all the rounds, thank you very much. ” Faruzan grinned smugly and showed a piece sign. Cyno grumbled from the side. Dehya still hasn't figured out how Al Haitham of all people was defeated.
“ But I'll play since it has a pretty unique concept. ” Faruzan smiled cheerfully. The woman was an all out scholar and definitely not a game enthusiast but all the Guide's projects had been unexpectedly fun. Even something simple as a card game like UNO– which was different from TCG –was nice to play.
Beating the shit out of General Mahamatra had its merits after all.
“ It goes the same for us too. I think the game sounds really fun! And it's always nice to hang out with your friends! ” Nilou cheered, beaming with happiness. Collei had half the mind to cover her eyes. Tighnari and Candace nodded in agreement. Kaveh let out an enthusiastic 'Yes!'.
Raphael melted in relief, “ Let's get started, shall we? ” The Guide led them into the well-polished arena. The excited architects and engineers all greeted them, no doubt there to see the result of their work.
The arena was big for its size. The metal walls towered over them while leaving the ceiling open, the blue sky shining down on them. The arena was filled with plates of different kind, as well as a variety of symbols on them. In the middle was a giant circle, with the mentioned stand of slippers.
The scene was kind of funny, actually.
“ This is pretty big for a simple game of slippers throwing. ” Tighnari remarked as he touched the wall of the arena. The soothe of cold metal prickled his gloved hand. His ears were picking up the subtle sounds of gears and contraptions, layered somewhere in the arena.
Wow, he could already tell where this was going.
“ It's a simple slipper-throwing game, not the simplest slipper-throwing game. ” Raphael grinned at the flat look Tighnari sent them. “ Also, you can use your vision but no flying. ” Raphael sent a pointed look at Wanderer, who clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
“ Anyway, look at the screen. Team members will be picked randomly. Don't curse me for this! ”
All of them turned to the giant screen, placed high on the arena. Ah, right. Al Haitham recognized the polished and modernized version of crystallized screens, something that was achieved by a scholar when the Guide had gone on a rant about komputer and television. Al Haitham sure that wasn't the appropriate spelling but the Guide never really brought that topic up again.
The screen rapidly cycled through their pictures– how the Guide got them Collei will never know –before it the face of Tighnari, Al Haitham, Wanderer, Collei, and Nilou– in order –on one side while the faces of Candace, Dehya, Cyno, Kaveh and Faruzan on the other side.
“ Why am I in a team with you? ” Wanderer grimaced at Al Haitham, who didn't even glance at him. The scribe looked at the screen and nodded, resigned at the decision. Nilou glanced at the two in slight panic, the both of them in a team could either be the most wonderful or the most disastrous thing.
“ Well, it's not the worst. ” Dehya shrugged once she saw her teammates. One look from Candace immediately had her backtracking her words. Faruzan watched from the side in amusement. But then she sweatdropped once she noticed the murderous look on Cyno's face.
She gave a concerned glance at Kaveh, who shrugged his shoulders.
“ Stop flirti– fighting! Let's start! ” The Guide called out and the teams got on their respective side. A plate opened before three slippers shot up and Cyno grabbed them. He gave the other two to Candace and Dehya.
The two teams got ready, eyes locked onto the slipper stand in the middle– like a predator targeting its prey. They weren't taking their eyes off before–
“ Also, there are all kinds of traps! Enjoy! ”
–Well, shit.
The screen on Team A turned green, signaling the start. Cyno didn't hesitate to throw his slipper right away, but sadly it missed the stand. He hissed in disappointment while Kaveh did his attempt. He also failed.
It was when Candace threw her slippers that it succesfully knocked down the stand, sending Team B into a minor panic as they scrambled around the arena.
Cue the slippers throwing.
“ Slow down on the slippers, god damn it! ” Wanderer complained as he ducked when three different slippers barely missed him. Seriously, what kind of game is this?
“ Remember, if you get hit, you're eliminated! ” Nahida reminded with a cute wave of her hand, still contented to be held up by the Guide.
Cyno narrowed his eyes and threw a slipper with an ample amount of strength– with that alone, you would think he was aiming for a killer shot –but Al Haitham skidded to the side to dodge it. The scribe just glance at the general as he run across the arena.
Team B all rushed to the center of the arena while keeping their distance from Team A, who all looked like they out for blood with all the slippers flying around.
“ This is... weird. ” The Traveler stated awkwardly.
“ Very weird, you mean. ” Paimon corrected.
“ This is what fun looks like. ” The Guide laughed and Nahida patted their shoulder.
The Traveling Duo deadpanned. “ No– ”
“ –This is hell! Stop moving, god– WHAT THE– ” Kaveh's blaring voice caught their attention. He attempted to get Tighnari and right before he threw the slipper, a burst of smoke hit him straight in the face. He shrieked in surprise, the trap ruining his aim.
Tighnari didn't even hide the smile on his face as he got to the center. He quickly tried to assembled the slipper stand but retreated when a barrage of slippers came his way– was that even allowed? He stepped on a plate and it glowed green.
Tighnari had the split second chance to lament his choice to play this game before a blast of Anemo energy sent him flying up. He yelped in surprise. The plate flipped to its other side and Tighnari thankfully landed on a trampoline.
He quickly ran away when Kaveh started chasing him with a slipper like an asian mum chasing her kid when they failed Math.
Nilou huffed as she dodge another slipper. The game was starting to get really chaotic now. She should have trusted her gut, especially when the project involves the Guide. But the game was turning out to be fun and Nilou didn't expect to find it so enjoyable!
No one had been pointedly targetting Nilou yet, as admittedly, she was as fast as the others. But they noticed that she was getting really close to the center. That's why Dehya was onto her.
Nilou was definitely not panicking. Certainly not! What made you think so?
Dehya narrowed her eyes dangerously as she prepared her aim–
– Okay, maybe Nilou was definitely panicking.
The slipper came piercing like a rocket and Nilou had half the mind to ask whether Dehya was trying to kill her or not. She would have been hit if the plate she stepped on hadn't shot up like a tower, eliciting a surprised shriek from Nilou.
The slipper harmlessly hit the metal tower and Dehya stare.
“ What the hell? That's cheating! ”
“ Be honest, were trying to kill me or some– Hey, why are you running away?! ”
Wanderer snickered as he dodged another futile attempt from Candace– who was getting kinda competitive now. He stepped on another plate and noticed the symbol glowing.
He bristled out some Anemo energy to escape but the plate suddenly disappeared and gravity snatched him down. Wandered was sent sliding through multiple underground tunnels until he was thrown out from a different opening.
Luckily, it send him right to the middle.
He landed gracefully, professional hands quickly rearranging the slippers. He was almost done when he had to move as a slipper shot right past his previous position. Wanderer glowered at the culprit and Faruzan just grinned.
Collei shrieked as a particular strong throw of a slipper dangerously missed. If that had hit hurt, not only would it eliminate her, it would literally knock her out too.
She screeched even louder when she realized who was targeting her. “ AHHH– Mercy, Mister Cyno! ” the young girl cried out. Cyno perked up and Collei started to regret every decision she made up until now.
“ Oh? You're welcome. ” Cyno stated with a serious nod and Collei groaned audibly. She could ever hear Master Tighnari groaned and he's all the way on the other side.
“ Well, you see in Fontaine– ”
“ I DO NOT NEED TO HEAR IT, NOOOO. ”
“ Stop your stupid puns, General. ”
“ OH, I'LL SHOW YOU STUPID– ”

SIDE STORY#1
SHENANIGANS #2
Tumblr media
you rolled around with a groan on the grass, the sun hitting you at full force yet it didn't bother nor burn you and you were grateful.
what bothered you was the fact that you were bored.
that and you did not have internet connection.
when you first woke up, you had your phone with you and it was working just fine but when you realised that you were indeed in genshin impact as soon as you settled in sumeru and reality hit you like a chancla being thrown at you by your mother's hand, you realised that you didn't have your charger with you.
simply your phone in your pocket and your wallet but you doubt that the currency you used back home would come in handy in teyvat.
from where you were seated, by the south entrance of sumeru city on the grass, the blonde traveler, whose floating companion was not with her, watched you with an amused expression, "what is it, [name]?"
you lifted your head and looked at her, grass adorning your dishevelled hair.
oh! and you were pouting.
cute.
"I'm bored..."
lumine sighed, sympathising with you.
the first time she found herself in teyvat, she realised that she could get bored easily without what she used to do to get rid of boredom on the previous planet she was staying on with her twin.
so to get rid of boredom once in teyvat, the traveler from afar explored the region you would have just unlocked in the game and explored with her, again, as much as she could when you were taking a break from having to help her with the archons' requests for help with their nations.
"hmm... do you want to explore?"
you perked up at her suggestion and quickly scrambled to sit back on your legs, eyes wide, same for the grin on your face.
"yes! I want to visit Inazuma."
"weren't you the one that kept on muttering how much you hated Inazuma?"
you gasped loudly, earning the curious stares of sumeru city's passer-bys, "yes! simply cause the thunder kept hitting you! that and the enemies are a pain in the ass."
the first sage of buer couldn't help but agree with your words before adding, "undercover, though."
you nod once in response, grinning from ear-to-eat.
"then–"
"you are not going anywhere," wanderer's voice sounded out as he made his way over to the two of you, coming out of the city.
you pout at him, visibly deflating and, knowing that it was futile to try and convince the puppet, the traveler wrapped an arm around your waist, saying how visiting inazuma would be for next time.
when it's safer.
the ex-fatui harbinger watched you two before sighing and pitching the bridge of his nose then looked back at you two as he crossed his arms over his chest, "not unless you bring me with you."
he hoped buer would forgive him for that.
he also hoped that he wouldn't regret his decision. though after seeing how you looked at him in both admiration and gratefulness, a part of him knew that he wouldn't.
a tug could be felt in his chest, where his heart should have been, has he not been a puppet but a human.
unbeknownst to him, irminsul already delivered their next itinerary to the archon of wisdom.
and the little god simply smiled gently.

It's me the first sage of buer (first anon of celabi)
I have not written any thoughts for scummy scara in FOREVERR but I have a few rotting in my brain so here you guys go enjoy loll. This one is based around punishing our lovely greasy boy 😈
The punishment doesn't have to be prompted by something bad Scaramouche did, sometimes we just wanna tease and torture him, yk??
Imagine tying up scara to his bed, he complies without a single complaint, not even a question, because why would he? He trusts you completely. He can feel himself getting excited at the thought of all the things you're going to do to him, he submits himself to you completely and utterly. You make a show of undressing yourself, scaramouche moans at each section of skin he sees, he licks his lips. He's already so achingly hard when you're sat before him nude, he can't wait until you undress him next…
He waits patiently, but before you make any move to tend to him, you start touching yourself before his widened eyes. It was certainly something he didn't expect, but he wasn't complaining. He loved seeing you this vulnerable, the sounds you made, the show you were putting on. It was all for him. He tries to keep his attention on you, but his cock becomes increasingly hard to ignore, it's throbbing wildly at the scene.
He groans, pleading for you to just take his pants off, relieve him just a little, please. You smile and shake your head, thrusting your fingers into yourself more.
He's getting a little impatient now, as all he can do is watch you, painfully hard
"My love.. pl-please..haah~.. t-touch me too..please"
He whines, tugging at the restraints. He can see your juices run over your fingers now, making a mess on his bed. He's definitely going to suck on that spot later. But he wants a taste, right now. Please, he'll beg, just slip your fingers into his drooling mouth, let him taste you, he pleads. You just chuckle at his tearful and desperate state. Poor poor boy, this is truly the worst torture one can receive.
