if you get this, answer w/ five random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs. anon or not, doesn't matter, let's get to know the person behind the blog! No pressure though! 🌻
Let's try not to out myself, all though I doubt anybody I grew up with ended up as degenerate as I did. *Cracks knuckles*
(I edited this one). I am online friends with a lovely lady who I am helping edit her debut self published novel called New Exodus! It's pretty cheap on Amazon and she's planning to rerelease book 1 and release book 2 by the end of the year! I'll ink below if anyone's interested, I think it's even free on Kindle. Seriously, it is so, so good and it deserves so much hype! Exodus: Book One of the New Covenant Trilogy: Hawthorne, CJ: 9780578869858: Amazon.com: Books
I lived down the street from a serial killer when I was a baby (I mean a baby baby).
I crochet! I might start positing some of my projects here again. I did that back in October when I started the blog but haven't really since.
Current favorite show is X-Men (animated, 1992-1996). Making my way through X-Men '97 but episode 3 has me questioning if that was real or a delirium brought on by the back pain flare up I had earlier.
I'm a nursing student! I've finished all my pre-req's and been accepted so starting next semester I'll begin taking fully nursing classes. I'm pretty excited, though it does mean I won't have a lot of time for writing if I wanna keep running my crochet business.
if magneto knew what the internet was then he would post to r/aita as often as possible and all his posts would be the top posts of the year. thats the kind of drama hes going through. he also gets permabanned from r/mutants for advocating violence
Been getting a lot of asks assuming that I work for Hoyoverse lately, so I thought it would be a good time to post the reminder! I'm not upset, I just don't want to cause any disappointment (or shock anyone when I swear or say something gay lol).
it's immensely funny to me how andrew lloyd webber read this passage from the book and was like yeah the journey down to the phantom's lair is this really breathtaking magical gondola ride where christine is just captivated by the strange and fantastical beauty of it all (see below)
when in the novel they're both like in a rowboat in the dark with christine scared out of her mind and confused as hell while erik is paddling like he's out for an extreme day of fishing and just staring christine down for the entire duration of the journey without blinking once . like mind you his eyes quite literally GLOW in the DARK and he's just fucking staring into her soul and silently rowing and probably not even breathing like
why does nobody ever talk about angel and spike fighting over the shanshu prophecy?
when spike points out that angel views his soul as a curse, as punishment, as being forced to live with the guilt of everything he's done, whereas spike fought for his soul. nearly died for it. the demon with no soul still wanted to do the right thing, to be a good man, so desperately he would destroy himself for the chance.
and then angel says something VERY interesting to spike. spike says he thinks angel hates him because he's a living reminder of his evil. "cause every time you look at me, you see every dirty little thing i've done. all the lives i've taken. because of you. drusilla sired me, but you made me a monster."
and angel, the man who, without his soul, tortures and kills people sadistically for fun and feasting, the man who insists he is not angelus, says, "i didn’t make you, spike. i just opened up the door and let the real you out."
SUCH an interesting thing to say, angel! let's talk about this. no, please—go on. explain how you are better than spike in any way. i'm fascinated. i'd love to hear how you and angelus are different people but the demon who possessed william the poet is somehow the same as the man.
you can't have it both ways, you horrifically catholic man. you aren't a better person just because you've suffered more.
still insanely funny to me that ortus nigenad has canonically written 18 volumes of epic poetry about a bodyguard who was, in fact, Just Some Guy, and regularly quotes himself out loud in conversations on the regular. man had to die at the start of gtn because he was too fucking powerful to live
hannibal. god. hannibal. every last one of his actions throughout the show thrums with the undercurrent of desperation. every manipulation, every lie told, it's steeped in this ugly desperation he tries to cover up so badly, but he can't. it bleeds into everything he touches. he needs to get will to like him, to trust him. he needs will's trust more than he needs air to breathe. he talks to god but the sky is empty for the first time in years, because will walks the earth. he wants to drop to his knees and beg for love and understanding, but his legs won't bend and his mouth will only spout vaguities and half-truths. none of his approaches work, he's lost his footing for the first time in decades, it's making him lash out. the lashing out is, too, layered in desperation. he's unraveling
and more than anything he wants to grab will's face and Show Him. and it's a delicate dance, because will is so easily spooked. not spooked, maybe, but pushed away. he doesn't tick like a normal person, and maybe that's what hannibal needs, but it's tricky. and it all culminates on that goddamn cliff and as they're going over, will is drenched in blood and red is his color and there's gore in his mouth laced between his teeth where he'd bitten out a chunk from a man's neck and he's telling hannibal It's Beautiful and he's holding on for dear life and he Sees, the way hannibal's wanted him to See ever since that day he'd shot garrett jacob hobbs in his own kitchen, and maybe it's over and maybe it's just begun but it doesn't even matter because he's finally got what he's been after for the past three fucking seasons and no one can take it away from him DO YOU HEAR WHAT IM TELLING YOU
Love the energy of the new doctor who episodes, love Ncuti Gatwa's charisma and the show's willingness to take risks. That being said I'm a bit sad we don't seem to be getting the old character focus of the og RTD seasons. I really like Millie Gibson's performance but on a script level Ruby Sunday doesn't feel like a real person to me. What drives her, what are her flaws, what's her socioeconomic background and how does that inform her behaviour, what are the unlikable parts of her, what does she want most? What's her relationship to her mother like beyond aspirationally and non-specifically positive? How does she dress when she's just sitting around at home? What might she butt heads with the doctor about???
