I keep seeing posts about arranged marriages not actually being That Bad and "why do people always write royal women/girls as being devastated that they're getting married that was a Job to them, maybe they'd say they could try to make it work!!" And like I Get what they're trying to say I really do but are we forgetting that the heterosexual marriage contract traded a man's resources for unfettered access to women's bodies (and whatever other resources she brought). Are we forgetting the lack of civil rights for women especially when they were married. Are we forgetting the concept of sex rights. How the husband could humiliate her and she'd still have to be loyal to him. How yeah resources money political power but also like!!! The woman's body!!! She can't opt out at least not easily!!! We have documented cases of women avoiding marriage in order to hold onto some semblance of power like 😭😭 The Catholic Church is still very much against divorce and would only annul a marriage if the couple never consummated (impossible in a lot of situations) like HUH

sometimes I randomly think about the time a girl posted in this girls only Facebook group I’m in telling everyone how she broke up with her boyfriend and he lied saying that he lost the spare key she gave him, only to then break into her apartment when she wasn’t home and steal the cat they’d adopted while they were together, but then he denied having done this and she didn’t really have proof that he took the cat since he wouldn’t let her come into his place and look for it. And then another girl saw this post and knew her ex-boyfriend, and she was like “girl. I used to hook up with your mans back in xxxx and I still have his number. If you want, I’ll hit him up and get him to invite me back to his place and see if your cat’s there.” And the OP was like “bet.”

So this woman hit up homie dog, asked him out for drinks, went home with him, slept with him, and then woke up in the middle of the night and TOOK THE CAT. Like she had only said that she would confirm if the cat was there but then she took it upon herself to steal this woman’s cat back. As much as I want to be a wholly joyous about the fact that Henry Kissinger is finally fucking dead, as he deserves... There's a lot of me that can't help being upset with. With the fact that he lived to 100 years old. He got better medical care, better housing, and a better, more stable life for those 100 years than billions on this planet ever going to see and he did it specifically through exploitation, state sanctioned murder, and lies. He lived to 100 years comfortably on a legacy of violence that rarely threatened his personal comfort. I want to be joyous that he's finally dead, because the world IS better with him dead, but the reality is he won a long time ago.
