HOW DO ANY HOMOPHOBIC MORTAL KOMBAT FANS EVEN EXIST?? DID Y'ALL JUST NOT PAY ATTENTION TO KUNG JIN, MILEENA AND TANYA IN MKX? OR MILEENA IN MK11? OR MILEENA AND TANYA IN MK1??

Kung Jin is a confirmed gay man, Mileena is confirmed to be bisexual. (I'm unsure if Tanya is also bisexual or if it's unconfirmed yet.) They are explicitly stated. So, only three characters, out of hundreds of named Mortal Kombat characters, are confirmed to be queer.

It's clear nobody is 'forcing' anything, or 'making everything LGBTQ+', because those three examples are the only canon characters apart of our community. You can just block the ship tags, the lgbtq tag, or the people who post that art / fanfictions, you're making a huge issue out of something that takes less seconds to solve than putting on a sock.

If a character has a spouse and kids, it's in no way confirming that they're straight. To believe that is ignoring the bisexual people in real life who have children and a spouse, it's ignoring the fact that bisexual is attraction to all genders, including the opposite, and if a bisexual person wants kids? That's great! It doesn't make them any less bisexual.

It's rather disingenuous to claim you 'have no issue' with our community, but then turn around and be genuinely disgusted or even angry when ships or headcanons are made about us.

It's telling when you only focus on the LGBTQ+ aspect of that headcanon or ship. It's telling when you, only after the post is made and you're rightfully getting harmless criticisms, mention cishet ships and headcanons offhandedly because 'look guys! I'm not homophobic!' Even though you never actually mention what ships or headcanons you dislike, just that you dislike a few.

Unless they're LGBTQ+. In which case you go in vivid detail, you describe how frustrated you get, how it's clearly 'new fans' despite the fact that queer people and their ships + headcanons have been a part of fandom space, since fandoms existed.

To bring up past timelines when you're specifically referring to Mortal Kombat 1 is plain stupidity, Liu Kang changed Tarkat from a species to a disease, it's not hard to believe a character could be trans or gay when before they were hinted otherwise.

It proves that, for you, it's not about shipping or headcanons, or new fans, or fandoms in itself. It's about the fact that our community is gaining acceptance, we're being seen as normal, because we are normal, and we shouldn't be treated as 'it NEEDS to be confirmed to be true.' But for cishet people? Oh, EVERY character is cishet, that's just the 'default'.

Oh, and, by the way, it isn't 'good representation' if you can't actually tell if the character isn't cishet/allo, if it takes years for you to realise Kung Jin is gay, that means his queerness was written badly, which it was. If straight men characters get to flirt with women, and straight women characters get to flirt with men, why can't men flirt with other men, or women flirt with other women?

If cis male characters get to talk about their bodies, and cis female characters talk about their bodies, why can't transgender characters talk about being transgender or how it affects their bodies?

If your audience needs to go to a twitter post or ask around to check what your character's sexuality/gender is, you've quite literally just failed at writing.

Beside that, there's nothing wrong with believing a character is straight or cis, either! Just, don't be awful to those who believe differently, don't send threats, just because somebody believes a character is a part of our community.

Following the heart-wrenching posts of @red-riding-wood, @kittenonpluto and @aurorag98 I feel like I have to write this. By no means I have experienced traumatizing interactions with @mrkdvidal1989 aka Killian Vidal but this whole situation and what he did to girls here make me enraged.

First of all, I want to reassure all the beloved mutuals who have been reaching out to me or who have been worried about my well-being because they saw me interacting a few times with Killian. I am perfectly fine and I'm not much here this week because I have been working a lot.

As for my relationship with Killian... Well, we were barely talking to each other actually. I know I am bad at replying to my DMs but this is not the reason why I ghosted him -- I purposefully did so because, like many of you, the guy gave me the biggest red flags. We talked a few times, and he called me hot when he saw the gym pics/selfies I posted. He quickly suggested we meet together to go to the gym and watch horror movies during my stay in the UK and to this I replied positively while knowing I would never ever do so. Right from the start I suspected him to be a liar and I felt he had built up everything about his life. Also, I come from a military family with many relatives working in special units of the French Navy, and let me tell you something: I screamed at the thought of a former soldier (from the SAS!! lmao) spending all of his time writing reader-insert fanfic for a female audience and discussing with Cillian fangirls. I don't say it's impossible, but it's VERY unlikely.

To me, Killian was just an attention-seeking catfish I'd never meet and who I found both boring and childish. In my opinion, I thought he just wanted to have a small court around him to strut around, nothing more. I tried to search for info about him to warn people, I mean I even doubted he was a man... However, I found nothing plus he seemed to be IRL friends with a few mutuals here who actually chatted with him via phone so I didn't want to take the risk of spreading hate about someone just because of a gut feeling. Never in a million years, I would have imagined he was toying with girls from the Peaky Blinders community, collecting nudes, gaslighting/harassing them, breaking them into pieces, promising marriage, and going as far as to promise a life-saving medical treatment to a dear friend of mine. I am devastated by what I have read this morning, and "devasted" is not even powerful enough. Learning from Red that he talked about fucking me when we meet while we never talk about sex, never flirted or anything (we just small-talked once in a while lmao) might be a bit creepy but it's nothing compared to what he has done to girls here.

I am deeply sorry to all the people who have been hurt by his horrible actions and are now facing long-term consequences because of him, some of them being my close mutuals. I send positive vibes, love, and healing to every one of you who had to deal with this psycho. I know a lot of people have already said that but my DMs are opened if you need a safe place. The Peaky Blinders / Cillian Murphy community is a nice place, maybe the most welcoming place I've ever seen on the Internet but we should all keep in mind that it is not safe from ill-intentioned users and predators. Please stay safe and, for the victims, don't blame yourself. You haven't been naive nor stupid or anything. The only one to blame is the person behind Killian Vidal's persona, and for the evil you've done, I hope you'll get fucked with a chainsaw. Or just fucking rot in hell.

Hello, i’m ranting again but ffs Army are infuriating i simply cannot.. I’m making this post for my queer people but also for my non-queer people but who support the LGBTQ community. Again sometimes i’m really bad with words, i really don’t know how to put shit out there correctly but please bear with me.

So i’ve been on tiktok and that lovely girlie’s video popped up on my fyp (the same girlie i posted yesterday), basically the caption on the video was “Me watching homophobic “armys” throwing a fit bc queer armys find comfort in Jimin’s queercoded lyrics”, me being me i checked the comments and i come across shit like this

The way people are so very against any of BTS members being anything but straight and like to throw the “don’t assume” stupid comment, that “they never came out” “they never said it themselves” yada yada, bitch do you even know what queer coded means? Do you know what a code means to begin with?

People seem to forget that these men are in an environment that doesn’t allow them to just “come out” they can’t just fucking shout to the world that they’re fucking gay Patricia!

It’s the fact that Jimin has been dropping hints here and there to HOPEFULLY people can understand, can get the fucking message, but people are still out there wanting him to just say it as it is, they don’t understand the effort it take to fucking come out in a homophobic country in a God forsaken industry with entitled fans who can’t accept idols being non-hetero.

It’s like people are trying their best to break Jimin’s effort in trying to “set himself free” as he fucking just said from all this bullshit, from holding back, from “HIDING” bitch he literally said that wtf do you think he’s hiding from? The monster under his bed? The muffin man in his closet? Wake the fuck up! You’re stanning a man but refuse to understand him, refuse to give him a chance to express himself without having to put himself in a tough position.

I remember sharing before this one video from a tiktoker who made a joke about how queer celebrities deal with dating questions when they didn’t necessarily come out or weren’t intending to but still were trying to drop hints :

People saying that your own personal interpretation shouldn’t be imposed on what Jimin means, if y’all keep on acting this way when the fuck are we ever going to understand him? He doesn’t HAVE to either, why tf do people think he will just trust such an entitled fandom to come out to them?

Yesterday again i came across a tiktok of a dude doing a prank to his BOYFRIEND, here’s what they look like :

Now don’t bullshit me on “this is not what i mean when i say manly” cause i know perfectly that this is the exact image some people picture in their head for how men looking like that can’t be gay. You want Jimin to feel comfortable enough to come live often, to share things with us, to see him perform, bla bla bla but how tf can he be comfortable with your sick asses when he can’t even be given a chance to be understood, to not put him under the projector?

People assume that you just gotta tell the world about your sexuality and that’s it, easy peasy lemon squeezy, such a happy world and everybody will be accepting yey

You don’t know the struggle of fighting to let yourself known to others without being put in a risky situation as a common person let alone as a celebrity in a very unforgiving industry, people tend to forget that it can be career threatening, so just for your own comfort you’ll have these men risking everything just so you can have that verbal validation?

I’m going back to the term “Queer coded” It’s called that way because there are “CODES” used by a person to hint to their sexuality and if your illiterate asses could spare 5 mins to google what that means y’all would’ve been 10 times smarter.

If you can’t support Jimin, or any member really, the right way, please see yourself out these 7 men really don’t need no more of these people as part of this fandom, it’s already hard with straight up haters and now they have to deal with supposed “fans” who can’t do shit correctly.

So please for my queer people, let's do our best to support and let our boy know that we understand we get it and we are sending him all of our love and for people who support the community and still understood Jimin and are supporting as well, thank you, thank you so much for being amazing, thank You.

Selen

What is a PR statement, in terms of connotation? It is a companies statement in attempt to continue to build the relationship between it and the public. A good PR statement should be informative and answer the public's questions, but it should also protect the company and essentially control the narrative. It would not make sense for a company to chronicle into history something worse than rumors can generate....

If "Notification of Contract Termination with Selen Tatsuki" was written with the goal of being informative, it is a success. If it was written with the goal of painting Selen as bad however it is a failure. And if was written with the goal of protecting Nijisanji, it is a major failure. The issues with this PR statement are numerous and catastrophic on multiple levels which make it shocking that whoever wrote it is not fired. And yet, every single mistake here must be analyzed.

Firstly, the assumption of truth. For the sake of sanity, everything stated in this PR statement will be assumed to be true. The reason for this is because nothing in this paints Nijisanji in a good light. It would not make any sense for Nijisanji to lie in order to make itself look worse. Furthermore, theory crafting about lies in attempt to make Nijisanji look better that backfire into making it look bad would make this post longer than your average super smash fanfic.

The first paragraph is simple and important. It states the 2 reasons that Selen is being terminated.

1) Multiple breaches of contract

2) Misleading statement on social media

It is stated that goal of this PR statement is to “provide a detailed explanation of the circumstances and reasons” leading up to this. Assuming that this is the only goal, then this letter makes sense but it is important to keep in mind the author. Nijisanji themselves surely would not want to paint themselves as in the wrong, correct? Especially if they did nothing wrong and see no reason to apologize. In order to properly communicate with the public in this situation Nijisanji must pick it’s words and tone very carefully to provide an explanation while also understanding the audience. If a writer does not understand their audience then every attempt at communication will always fail.

The audience of any graduation letters are fans of the member graduating, in this case Selen. Selen fans obviously support Selen and do not wish to see her bad mouthed or harmed. For this reason, any statement that is meant to describe a negative action of Selen must be phrased so that a fan of Selen does not lash back against the speaker and instead understands that Selen did something wrong. With that, the next section describes “Activity Rules for Affiliated Livers”.

It is a bunch of meaningless bullshit. Literally just says “our company has rules people have to follow and here is our stupid jargon term for it called "ACTIVITY RULES”. Ok thanks, I thought Nijisanji didn’t have any rules, glad that was explained.

Next section “Violations by Selen Tatsuki of the Activity Rules”. Stating that Selen has been breaking the ACTIVITY RULES ever since joining in July 2021 and finally giving an actual rule that Selen broke. That rule is “non-compliance with rights confirmation and authorization flows”. This rule is a huge cultural friction issue. What Nijisanji means by the rule is that the laws of copyright in Japan work in such a way that Vtubers have to get explicit permission from original creators(such as those of videogames or songs) before the Vtuber can actually play or sing them. This flies in the face of the entire system of creating Youtube videos in the West. No one does this because the laws in the West do not work in this archaic method. Video game publishers have realized that people playing their game and showing off their game to other people will nearly always result in a positve result for all parties involved as long as the game is good. Thus no one wants to deal with menial paperwork just to get these “permissions”. Everyone in the West things these rules that apply to English-speaking Vtubers that are part of Japanese companies are stupid and detestable because they just hurt everyone for nothing. For this reason, Nijisanji should known that while they have to follow the law, the fans of this English-speaking Vtuber hate this law and will react very negatively to any attempt to use it to paint Selen as bad. Any attempt to paint Selen in a negative light with these will fail. However this section does just that. It states that Selen has broken these rules many times in order to provide the explanation that Selen is a rule breaker. This is important setup because it is ascribing character to Selen in order to justify the breakup.

Nijisanji ultimately performs a bunch of glancing blows in this section without providing many details, so I will follow suit and not describe details. It is just important to know that the PR statement has not done anything wrong yet and would have been fine if it simply followed the direction of saying that Selen had not gotten perms one too many times and had to be fired over it. Alas, it is not so under the next section.

“Events Leading to Suspension of Selen Tatsuki’s Activities” is where details begin. The infamous “Cup of Coffee” video created by Selen Tatsuki is described as the last straw that forced Selen to be terminated. Management saw the music video’s components on December 24th (JST). On the 25th Nijisanji stated that “some elements still lacked authorization” and “permission needed to be obtained from relevant parties”. On the 26th Selen posted the video, regardless of what Nijisanji wanted. At face value this series of events follows with the PR statement’s description of Selen’s character and looks bad for her.

Or does it?

Nijisanji takes issue with the “Cup of Coffee” video due to permissions. Which ones? The song itself was created by lilypichu and stated in a tweet that it is free for anyone to do whatever they want to it. The vocal of the song are by Selen herself. The art was all commissioned by Selen herself. The only way permissions could not be confirmed is if Nijisanji wanted to manually contact and get permission from every single affiliated party themselves or if appearances of other Nijisanji EN members themselves require permissions from those members. If the latter is true, then it is absolutely insane that the company somehow treats itself like an outside party, requiring permissions for every single mention of a different member. If it is the primer then Nijisanji once again is showing the limits of the archaic permissions based system. Either answer is unsatisfying to the reader, but the truly infuriating part is the lack of this crucial detail.

Ultimately, this is only half a story. It describes rule and Selens actions to break those rules. It does not describe the mens rea. Why does Selen break the rules? The simplest reason is that she is just like the fans, a hater of the perms system. Unfortunately this does make her incompatible with Nijisanji and rationalizes a termination HOWEVER it is important to note that it does not mean that Selen is a bad person. Breaking the rules does NOT make someone bad when those rules are seen as poor rules in the eyes of the court of public opinion. It is VITALLY important that nothing has been stated to make Selen look bad to a Selen fan.

Following the video’s removal Selen stated on Twitter that “management has taken down the video” without the context of “because of permissions”. Nijisanji sees this as a misleading statement due to that exclusion, however they have no reason to suffer consequences. They have no reason to let Selen’s statements to reupload the video, regardless of what Nijisanji says, to fester and cause conflict. Nijisanji is the company that manages Selen and thus can post on their own account with an addendum to Selen’s statement or just have Selen make the addendum herself. Nijisanji states these two options themselves.

However Nijisanji decided to do nothing instead. After failed reconcilliation with Selen over the take down of the video, Nijisanji did NOT make their own public statement about it. This is a truly baffling occurance. Nijisanji has their own platform, as a matter of fact this very PR statement was posted on it! Why could they not post themselves? Why did Selen have to do it? It is important to note that the statement begins to use the language “being mindful of Selen’s mental and physical health” and that they were in talks with her “emergency contact” because at this point Selen had been hospitalized due to attempts to take her own life.

Nijisanji wanted her to provide comment on this while she was in the hospital. Nijisanji has full access to Selen’s twitter and youtube, demonstrated by the fact that they blocked her out from them. Why could they not post the text they wanted her to then? No one would be able to tell the difference. Unless they could.

The statement does not include a date for which they blocked Selen from her account. This is clever of them because the Selen Tatsuki account on twitter has had posts in the timeframe of Nijisanji conversing with Selen’s emergency contact. Because of this, the only logical conclusion to be made is that any post on Selen’s account after the 26th may not have been written by her. This brings again the question of why Nijisanji did not just write whatever they want on her twitter and put whatever words they want in her mouth?

The simple answer is they wanted her voice. They wanted Selen to verbally say their words. Through such a trying time in her life, Nijisanji wanted her to read words she obviously did not agree with in order to protect Nijisanji’s image.

This PR statement is starting to look bad for Nijisanji.

“Termination of Affiliation Contract” is the final, terrifying, awful, and truly cataclysmic section. It introduces Selen’s legal counsel to the story and Nijisanji’s demands. 1) Selen informs the public about about the why the video was taken down (a stupid demand that would be truly painful as described previously) and 2) a request for Selen to pretty please follow the ACTIVITY RULES.

The next paragraph is dire and can only be read in its entirety, verbatim.

Thus the reason for this PR statement’s long explanation of recent events becomes clear with one extra detail. This PR statement is the first public and official disclosure of almost all of these details. It was posted on February 5th, 2024 at 7:57 pm (JST). The most recent public statement from Selen about any of it occurred on February 5th, 2024 at 8:00 pm (JST).

This means that all of Selen’s claims were first posted by Nijisanji. Nijisanji pre-empted her response and thusly has initial control of the narrative. They were free to not state any of Selen’s claims. Considering that Selen’s threat was to post the claims in the first place WHY WOULD NIJISANJI POST THEM FIRST?

Because they think they can overcome them. Nijisanji wanted to post the claims in their own language and refute them before Selen could make the company look however bad she wanted. Nijisanji wanted to remove the power of the claims. After all, claims are just that: assertions to fact and not fact itself. They can only become fact if Nijisanji confirmed that they were true. Being “harassed by affiliated Livers” is truly a harsh claim. It can ruin a Nijisanji member’s reputation to the public. Even if not stated who in particular, it paints a nasty seed of doubt in the viewers mind. Anyone they watch could have been a part of the harassment that led to a suicide attempt. Thankfully for Nijisanji, Selen’s response did not mention that the harassment came from other livers, just “from within.” Management from a company is usually formed out of leaders and it is any leader’s duty to watch out for those below them and truly excellent leaders will even take the brunt of the blow for one of their subordinate’s mishaps. So all Nijisanji needs to do is refute this claim. To say that she was not harassed.

OH NO WHY WOULD THEY SAY THIS THIS IS A CRITICAL FAIL IN EVERY CHECK WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS.

“have not engaged in unjust practices”. So Nijisanji and its front-facing VTubers have engaged in the “practices”? The practices of causing harassment so intense that someone attempted to harm themselves? And those practices were just?

Nijisanji has performed an irrecoverable mistake. Words can barely describe the damage the eternal damage done to the entire branch by this one statement and yet here those words are, attempting to grasp at the barely fathomable.

1) Nijisanji did not need to say this. Selen did not say she was harassed by Nijisanji EN Vtubers. Nijisanji EN said that. They shot themselves in the face.

2) Nijisanji just threw it’s Vtubers under the bus. Management just confirmed that harassment occurred by it’s own Vtubers. There is a negative percent chance that anything any company can possibly ever say could somehow rationalize harassment to the point of self harm.

2.5) They did not give specific Vtuber names. Now every single Nijisanji EN Vtuber could have potentially done it. This is a witch hunt. A witch hunt has been incited against Nijisanji EN Vtubers by Nijisanji EN management.

3) Selen attempted to damage Nijisanji EN’s image? SELEN ATTEMPTED DO DAMAGE NIJISANJI EN’S IMAGE?!?!?!?!?! THIS ENTIRE PARAGRAPH DID MORE DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE BRANCH THAN ANYTHING SELEN EVER COULD HAVE SAID AND IT WAS ENTIRELY SIDESTEPPABLE BY THE COMPANY. SILENCE WAS OPTION. THEY DID NOT TAKE IT

This puts Nijisanji EN Vtubers in an unwinnable situation of the following options

1) Stay silent and just let this evil act come to light with no response and possibly be harassed by fans yourself for POTENTIALLY having harassed Selen.

2) Come to the defense of your truly evil boss. Bootlick so hard in hopes that your wont get run over by the next bus management drives over the entire branch.

3) Come out against your vile company. Essentially destroy your job and get terminated.

All the while there is an actual witch in existence that management themselves confirmed.

Nijisanji has failed the fans for posting this.

Nijisanji has failed it’s own EN Vtubers by substantiating rumors that did not need to be confirmed.

And most importantly, Nijisanji has failed Selen, by attempting to slander her and justify her harassment.

It is reprehensible that two years after making a joint statement with Hololive about standing up against the kind of harassment that led to one of their own members attempting to take their own life and ultimately graduating from Hololive would now turn around and perform that very own harassment against their own.

Unforgiveable. For shame.

Initially, this is me saying thank you and goodbye

This isn't supposed to be a weird pity story, so l'm so unbelievably sorry if it comes off that way, lol.

When I began reading your work, I was enamoured with fiction because of personal issues (as many usually are, honestly, I know I'm one of god knows how many people trying to run away from life for just a second with fanfics or media in general). I don't know if I will ever be able to communicate this properly, hell, this will even be unbelievable funny or dramatic but I need to get this across because it's coming from a genuine place. Your stories and work thus far has brought me comfort, immense heaps of it, and even still when I deal with things that feel out of reach or too much to actually face head on I find myself wandering back to syg or just your blog in general

I mean this, from my entire heart, thank you and thank Bee. A million times thank you, for making that one silly silly stupid piece of fanfiction, because oh my god it got me through some major stressful hardships within my life for the past 3 years.

I am leaving tumblr, however I’m aware I have submitted asks with my actual accounts before, so you'll likely be able to see they're still gonna be up. I'm just deleting tumblr the app instead of my account, but for other social platforms they will be deleted properly (such as quotev) so I won’t be indulging in much reading anymore when it comes to fanfics and such lol

I don't know if I'll come back, if I do I likely will not be back for long or to be as active as l've been because of the toll social media’s taken. So even as ridiculous as this feels, to tell someone I’m simply a fan of and barely truly know, that their fanfic of murderers and their love story with my self insert kept me pushing through a lot of tough days, I genuinely just had to.

I always struggle to convey gratefulness for messages like this and readership- especially repeated readership. My life would be different if it were not for comments and messages egging us on to keep writing from syg to ho1c. While it's easy to say that writing is solely out of passion for the craft there is also the drive to share something with others. Hearing those others loud or quiet as a favorite- does push us forward when we have no motivation or desire to work. That drive has made us closer as a couple, better thinkers, and a halfway decent writing team. I thank you and all the others who send us stuff even if it's shit post asks I never answer because I like having them in my inbox like a personal horde of platonic Valentine's. I like keeping the pieces you give me to myself sometimes. I know it may seem like I'm ignoring you but I find genuine comfort in these messages. That there are so many. That they are so varied. That we have reached beyond our shut-in existence to touch the lives of others.

When did midwestern au Clarke realise she’s in love with Lexa?

When she had the flu 🥺

It'd been coming on for awhile - the realization, not the virus.

For months it'd been like 'Ah man. Ah jeez... I think I might be actually really legit falling for this sexy little weirdo. What the hell is in the water in this town?'

Because, ya know, she'd really been getting to see Lexa as person beyond just the woman who liked to flirt and take her out for the evening. She got to see the way Lexa reached out and had a hand in how her community thrived. She saw that Lexa did things like check in on elderly neighbors who had no one else to look after them, and how she helped do little fundraiser events that went to the little town school for things like new books and free lunches. She saw that when first big snowfall happened, Lexa was right out there with her shovel, directing all the boys with their pickup plows to clear the streets while she wrangled up a few others to hell her clear out the sidewalks and driveways. (Seeing those rosy red cheeks and that stupid beanie hat. Feeling the chill of Lexa's frosty-tipped nose when she kissed her after she was done digging Clarke's car out. All of thag certainly didn't help her cause for keeping this whole thing relatively casual either.)

She was just Lexa. And after awhile Clarke realized that being Lexa meant being so many different things to so many people. She was peacekeeper among rivals and heavy-fisted diplomat among hot heads, teacher and advisor to the younger ones looking toward a future outside of the town limits. She was friend and confidant to the lonely, and caregiver to the all but forgotten. She was all that on top of being a goofy ass drunk who liked to get handsy while dancing to the sappiest gd country songs Clarke's ever heard in her life. And somehow none of that really seemed at odds with the fact that she liked to stay up late in the quiet after sex just to talk and listen and share ideas with Clarke about books and art and philosophy.

Falling in love with Lexa wasn't a revelation or any one singular aha moment. It was a million moments that stacked together. It was a process of falling for all the different pieces of her.

So to be honest Clarke was already pretty damn far gone on this girl by the time she got walloped with one of the worst flus she'd had in her entire adult life. But then Lexa showed up on her doorstep a little past noon, face tight with worry and hands filled with supplies.

And for as much as Clarke hates to be coddled- doubly so when she's sick - it's an entirely losing battle trying to assure Lexa's that she's fine when she's pale enough to give Casper a run for his money and so congested that just the trip from the couch to the door has left her winded. Besides, she's got a Tupperware container of homemade soup in one hand, and a full case of pedialyte that Clarke knows she must've driven at least 35 minutes just to get in the other.

So she lets her girlfriend do all her girlfriend-things without much of an argument. But it... it really does change everything, without actually changing anything. There's nothing earth shattering about Lexa bringing over the sweater Clarke always likes to steal from her whenever she spends the night. There's nothing particularly exceptional about her girlfriend adjusting the thermostat to the perfect temp and gathering up every blanket and pillow she owns and creating a nest next her little fan so Clarke can adjust at any moment if she feels too hot or too cold.

But there is something about the little pinch between Lexa's brows while she stubbornly checks Clarke's temperature every now and then. And there's the something about how, despite Clarke's dry and chapped lips and the probable dried snot under nose, Lexa still giving her little kisses. There is definitely something about remembering on day three that Lexa was supposed to have been out of town that entire weekend. Finding out that she had left work a day early with a note for no one to bother her, and then canceled her plans to go ice fishing with her friends just to stay laid up with Clarke instead.

"They'll be fine without me," was all she said when Clarke emerged from her disease ridden haze long enough to ask what happened to her trip. "I wanted to be here if you needed me... I like taking care of you, Clarke."

She'd said it so casually. Like it really was just that simple. As though it was no big deal that she'd blown off people she'd known her entire life just to be a certified Kleenex wrangler and back rubbing aficionado whenever Clarke got wracked with a particularly nasty cough.

That was kind of it. After that Clarke stopped thinking about them in terms of 'for now's and maybes and what-ifs down the line, and actually started thinking about what kind of life they were going to build together. Cuz if that girl could kiss her and still look at her like she was the sun, moon, and stars all while having dried up snot on her nose? It was lost cause. Clarke was done for. She was keepin her.

Alright, so now that that’s out of the way, lets talk. I first read Worm in, oh, around 2014 when I was stuck in a city I didn’t live in with nothing to do for the better part of a week because all my plans had collapsed. I found it by googling something like “original superhero fiction”. I read it again in the last few years, and then read Ward. I say this because it means I read both pieces as complete works, and never engaged with them in progress - I didn’t stop to read the comments or even really spend any time in the fan community until quite recently, so I didn’t really have a handle on how other people were reacting to the text. Which means that I’m having an opinion about something that I’ve seen other people talking about in the parahuman tags, and I'm about to make that our problem together - that is to say, describing Victoria Dallon as a Cop. And, to be fair, that’s a pretty sensible thing to saddle her with; she do be upholding unjust power structures for the benefit of the strong at the expense of the weak. Its just that she also, sometimes, upholds unjust power structures for the benefit of the weak at the expense of the strong. Or the benefit of the strong at the expense of the strong. Or the benefit of the weak at the expense of the weak.

My favourite thing about Victoria Dallon, as of her stint as the protagonist of Ward, is that her only guiding Moral Principle is “I will do whatever I want, and I will justify to myself that it was the right thing to do” and that is so much more fun than just being cop-brained. Do what is Right (as defined by Vicky’s parliament of Herself, Herself but a Kid, Herself but a Wise Mentor Figure, Herself but a Nerd and Herself but Not Fucked Up) unless she doesn’t want to. Do what is Legal unless she doesn’t want to. Do whatever she wants that she wants to. She gets first pick on whatever the moral high ground is, because wherever she’s standing is the moral high ground - even if she’s just making the Tough Decision in a Bad Situation with No Good Outcome, she gets to place herself in a position of control and good judgment. And that’s a fascinating place to shove your protagonist, because it elucidates a lot of the inconsistencies in how Vicky views the world - . How can putting “criminals” in prison be imperative if Rain and Ashley going to prison is unbearably stupid? Vicky, ultimately, gets to square away the inconsistencies in her ethical axioms, because she doesn’t let them get in the way of her doing/feeling what she wants.

Which is a great flaw for a protagonist to have - the text even gestures at it when we get a quick look from The Fragile One’s perspective, because Vicky’s Genocide Alien Piece thinks its absolutely rad that Victoria will do anything to get her way and justify it to herself the whole time since that might make it possible for them to take over the world together and crush it beneath a forcefielded boot. Its a really natural flaw for Vicky to have, as well, because its all about manifesting control - she has to be right, she has to set her own path, because otherwise someone else could be setting it for her and that’s not something she can accept or go back to. Vicky’s not a Cop because she’s, in some way, better than that - she’s not. Its just that I feel like describing someone as a Cop implies that they’re following some kind of code, defending some kind of institution, part of some kind of group that is acting in its own interests or the interests of its superiors. Victoria might seem like she's doing that, but its incidental - the only one or only thing that she's accountable to is herself, and even then only if its convenient. (Where this all breaks down, of course, is that Wildblow decided at some point that Vicky actually was just right about everything which takes some of the wind out of my sails)

Anyway, I just think she's neat.

Guess who's back making a giant paragraph at one a.m. because this AU has a grip on my liver and it is NOT letting go!!!! (Please let go of my liver it's getting really messy and I can't keep cleaning up.) Anyways the new chapter???? HELLO??? I have never cried so hard reading a single chapter and I read the song of Achilles the other day (I mean I cried but not like this bad) and oh my god. (Also might be a little vain but please do not worry about my ramblings of my tears I'm just a little silly guy anyways). TRANS DAVE???? THR....... THE EXPLANATION.... THE DESCRIPTION..... As a teen who is currently struggling with their own gender oh my god I have never felt like a book has pried open my screen with metaphorical hands and opened a virtual pit with a million eyes staring at my soul your writing is genuinely some of the best I've ever read. I'd go as far as to say it is comparable to the House of Leaves but I am not a critic please do not quote me on that. AND MARK?? MARK'S grief and flashbacks of Cesar, I was genuinely in his shoes, feeling that short sense of relief before everything crumbled apart and I could do nothing but watch even though I knew the thoughts and feelings of "Cesar", it's agony and whatever the hell is going on in it's little purgatory. Perhaps it's already mentioned or is going to be mentioned but is "Cesar" directly communicating with Mark or is it his trauma acting up? Part of me wonders for a moment if there's something more from my sheer grief of this fan fiction or if you are just phenomenally good at invoking pathos and I am leaning towards the latter rn. I hope this doesn't come off as too like trauma dumpy btw!! That's not my intent at all this isn't venting it's just me throwing down words that come to my mind in the middle of the night when I should be asleep!! I've looked through your boundary list but please please let me know if I'm crossing any boundaries ty!! Also I am very excited for possible Adam next chapter?? Touching on Dave being trans was a part I enjoyed not because it was sad, but because I've been waiting to confirm him as trans in the AU for a while now so it was nice to finally do that, haha. The nightmare with Cesar becoming alt!Cesar was also something I really loved writing too! I enjoy writing and exploring body horror a lot and this AU is very much the perfect opportunity for me to do that lol

The nightmare is a mix of both Mark's trauma finally beginning to get processed and his M.A.D. actually allowing him to kind of communicate with alt!Cesar trapped in the void. We'll be catching up with what alt!Cesar is experiencing very soon, but the communication is not something he is intentionally doing, it's kind of like an instinctive response/a cry for genuine help to anyone that can hear him. It certainly won't be the last time alt!Cesar ends up doing this though!

And yes, Adam should be in the next chapter! :D

Does Greek mythology count as a fandom? Probably not but still there's definitely the community there.

Also i don't like the minute something becomes popular like a series or movie people jump to fanart and i feel the anxious urge that i have to draw it only because it's popular and it may gain popularity.

It's general yeah for commissions but internet has become hostile to new artists so eventually just focus on what i like the most. Though it's also not bad when your art gets appreciated.

well I count everything as fandom. Greek mythology itself is.... a mythology. The entirety of myths from a specific time and place. I would say "the people who like greek mythology" can consider themselves/be considered part of a fandom for sure. fandom isn't a scientific term so we can say "the cat fandom" etc, whatever we want.

Okay yeah, I understand the fear of missing out, but we also need to remember that the fanartists usually actually like the thing. when something is popular it means many people watch it and a percentage of these people are artists. if 1 in 50 people draws, when 50 people watch something then you have only 1 making art, if 50.000 people watch it then you have a thousand artists. that's an over simplification but I hope you get my point. FOMO is an issue we need to work on in ourselves because it's a useless burden.

There's a discussion i've seen happening a lot about the problem with fandoms getting faster and faster, where the majority of fans consumme everything within a month and then forget the thing afterwards, making fanartists feel like they have to rush. That's a problem with media in general imo, and it's up to everyone individually to understand this is a problem, slow down and enjoy things more and for a longer time. But there will always be people who are fans of a thing years and years after it's done. Star trek fanart, or lotr fanart is still doing extremely well out there.

When everyone and their mother is trying to market you a new band, a new game, a new series it doesn't help. At the same time, nobody can police how long people spend on any one interest and nobody owes anyone their free time and attention.

OKay so for commissions, as I said, if your art is good, and you build yourself a small community of artists (even just a few dozens of people) who will see you making a "commissions open" and reblog it, you can get some jobs. then one job will bring another, but it's a very slow process. Another thing about commissions is that you will absolutely get orders that do not interest you at all, and unless you're crazy succesful, you'll have to take them to make a living. so if you see your "making fanart of things you maybe aren't crazy about" as part of your job, maybe that will make it easier.

But literally, don't stress. Just post your art and try to focus on growing as an artist. If you don't rely on commissions to pay rent and food, literally give 0 fucks about the audience.

Final note, it really is extremely rewarding and the best motivation, to have your art appreciated by others. The more you grow and the more you share it, the more of that you'll get. People are usually very drawn to others who are passionate. Whatever you're passionate about, share it. Be annoying, even. post stupid sketches, post whatever. I thought I was just gonna be screaming into a void about alcibiades but i've found a bunch of people who also want to scream about him and it's great.

P.S. PRO TIP I JUST THOUGHT OF. One could say this is a bad thing, idk, but the way social media is, it pays off to show yourself along with your art. I don't mean show pictures. I mean post about your day. Post your thoughts, whatever. Make your presence more personal rather than "I just post my art", especially on places like twitter and tumblr. On instagram, you can do that through stories. Share funny things, be engaging. I have favorite artists that I know nothing about, but the ones I feel like I know personally I will be more likely to support by buying merch/commissions or helping them promote their stuff. It makes people feel like they can talk to you more.

Monster High Reimagined: Ghoulia Yelps character bio/redesign

Ghoulia Yelps (they/ze/zom)

Zombie child of the Yelps family (Haitian-Canadian)

Whip smart,pop culture savvy and often very snarky despite being a Ghoul of few words. (Literally, having decayed vocal chords makes communicating verbally in human languages near-impossible) Ghoulia Yelps is widely considered by zom's peers as the go-to for anything tech and fandom related they have trouble understanding,something they as an autistic person are usually very happy to divulge in. Between all this and being the best friend wing-person and number-two of wannabe queen bee cleo de nile,its a wonder ghoulia actually has time for schoolwork,but somehow they always get the best test scores and grades within zeir year.

Likes: video games, comic books,sugary drinks and snacks,making zines and other such doodads and attending conventions and fan events.

Dislikes: being underestimated or infantilized for their disabilities, last minute schedule changes,people handling zom's mobility aids without consent, slow Internet and cleo doing stupid stuff for clout and popularity.

Killer style: 2000s inspired alternative,scene and emo fashion all the way! and on lazy days when there's nothing better to do, ghoulia loves to browse the web looking at stylish new alt items and accessories in the big character hoodie Sloman got for their 15th birthday.

Familiar: Hootsalot, the ghost of an owl. Ghoulias mother works as a veterinarian and Hootsalot was one of her patients,who'd been mortally injured by a car and died despite her and the other vet techs efforts,or at least his body did. His spirit, seemingly appreciating the effort to help imprinted on the vets but with all the trouble that what is essentially a flying cat with the ability to phase through walls can cause in a workplace,the Yelps decided to take him in,and he and Ghoulia have been inseparable since.

Pet Peeve: people underestimating her intelligence purely based on the fact ze only verbally communicates in Zombese. It makes Ghoulia thankful that Monster High offers courses in zombese and ASL,as well as that zom's peers there are willing to take those courses instead of simply infantilize her for zom's disability.

Freaky Flaw: like many of their fellow neurodivergent classmates, ghoulia likes to really focus on doing one thing or interest at a time,keeping to a tight schedule and often being unable to work with last minute changes to plans or something throwing said schedule out of whack. This often jars with the more "drop everything we're now doing X" way zeir best friend cleo does things, and whilst ghoulia knows it's just something that's a part of how ze is,ze really don't like how they're not able to give their best and most focused effort when it does happen.

Spooky Secret: ghoulia has more followers and account activity than cleo on all their social media. Ghoulia having hidden said follow counts on everything out of a fear that if she found out,cleo would do something rash for followers and end up losing or hurting more than simply her dignity and pride because of it…

Dream job: Ghoulia may be very smart and enjoys highschool, but otherwise has little to no interest in a career in anything, preferring instead to earn an income via monetizing their interests, such as through livestreaming, esports competitions or art commissions, or getting a job not involving them at all.

Five Fearsome Facts

Zombies like all undead have mobility issues due to their decaying bodies,and Ghoulia is no different, using an ambulatory wheelchair and cane to aid movement,luckily having an influx of undead students like zem means monster high is readily wheelchair and disability accessible.

Their decayed vocal chords also mean Ghoulia finds speaking english very hard,but zom's far from unwilling to talk and is actually very sociable. Instead, ghoulia communicates using American sign language and written words on a whiteboard as well as using Zombese,a monster-developed conlang designed to be easy on the vocal chords.

Ghoulia is autistic. And who outside of their neurotypical best friends Cleo and Duece and regardless of their wildly different interests tends to get along best with their fellow neurodivergent classmates regardless of interests best. (Although considering the sheer berth of Ghoulias pop culture knowledge theres probably something that they each mutually enjoy and talk together about) Zom primarily stims verbally, making small whistles and mumbling phrases in zombese.

Far from the stereotypical hunger for brains, ghoulia can't function without sugar,with sugary snacks and energy drinks being among zeir favourite snacks when gaming or drawing, and zom just can't survive without caffeine in the morning (often graciously provided by cleo,who in turn claims coffee “calms the nerves”,being seldom seen without a super-sugary latte or frappuccino herself)

As well as playing,reading, and watching a lot of different media,ghoulia often tries their hand at making their own stuff, making zines, animations, and little games using their skill in art and coding. Often giving out physical copies of their work to people during conventions and events ze attend.

Hi again, I'm back with another profile,this time for Ghoulia.

This time around however theres not really much in terms of lore as i generally do like Ghoulias g1 charachterisation, so I just exaggerated it a little,giving her and cleo an almost jeeves and wooster or even wallace and gromit type dynamic (the latter more to do with ghoulias way of communication exemplifying body language and expression if nothing else).

Also as mentioned in Cleo's profile I want all the undead monsters to require some form of mobility aid (what with decomposition and all) and Ghoulia is no exception. Seeing artists like @katetorias ,@alexiseatzbeez ,@jet-apologistmybadhomies and @spookberry 's works with characters like ghoulia needing mobility and speech aids inspiring a lot of the concept seen in this continuity, I know its only a small thing to pay it forward but please go check out their pages because their art,monster high or otherwise,is just brilliant.

Unfortunately, since I've had a bunch of other hobbies take up my time recently (most notably drawing as well as stuff like gardening and just going out now that the weather's nice again where I am) the profiles I've started are pretty threadbare compared to the last few who in turn are those of the central cast, who i felt needed there's done first, the thing is with there being sooooo many monster high characters who all have a loyal fanbase I'm finding it hard to pick,so I ask you fellow monster high fans...

alrightyyy i think it might be time to step up and give my two cents on the hatred the marauders fandom receives. i’ve (1) received a death threat??? on tumblr?? for being a marauders fan?? which actually made me giggle a little bit bc you’re telling me to kill myself for liking gay wizards from the 70s? cmon now. that’s a bit silly. a silly goose move, if you will.

and, (2) i watched a group of kids in the queer lit class i TA for bully a student because they liked the marauders. (not bc they thought it was cringy, but bc of its association with jk rowling). OKAY Y’ALL. NO. you can hate on me, an adult, i can take it, but a fifteen year old? they’re fifteen! they don’t owe you anything! being a teenager is for fawning over books and other stupid things. LET THEM LIVE!!

so i supposed now was a good time to give my thoughts, because even though i know it’s not going to, i think this discourse is genuinely childish and needs to end.

when it comes down to it, what matters here is queer joy. if you look past the fact that the marauders fandom is made up almost exclusively of headcannons, and jk rowling pretty much hates our guts, what actually matters is that people are happy. i’m being so real when i say that the VAST MAJORITY of marauders fans are queer — we needed a safe, inclusive space away from the golden trio era and all the problems that THEY have — and so what that gives you is angry queer people yelling at other queer people for being ??homophobic??

jk rowling is a horrible, awful, transphobic person. no one disagrees here. people are being hurt by her actions, and queer joy is being diminished. but then you have marauders fans, who are enjoying works that are created (only) by fans, and making this amazing space for fellow queer people. the passion that people have for these characters is the epitome of queer joy, and i just can’t wrap my head around why other queer people would want to spread more hatred and sadness by telling them they can’t enjoy something they love.

we need to wake up and realize that we’ve been sucked into this vicious cycle that jkr has perpetuated. by being angry at people who have virtually no connection to her, you give her what she wants, which is to spread hate within the LGBTQ community. i simply see no need to be spiteful towards people because of what they love. it’s the antithesis of everything queer culture stands for.

there is so much hatred in the world, especially right now, and i feel like it applies to everything and everyone when i say that there is no need, under any circumstances, to be actively hateful towards people who are just living their lives. want to send hate mail to jk rowling herself? be my fucking guest. but stop harassing people you don’t know over the internet over a problem they didn’t cause and are doing nothing to spread.

'The Clean Up' An Old Yandere Story About a Pathetic Old Man and the Brat He Got Stuck With (TW: Large Age Gap, Kidnapping, Gross start)

Omf this old art is killing me, its soooo bad (Better art of Eugene found here!) but I kept from posting this for so long 😭 I might as well just do it already. Looooong story summary below the cut! Some things to keep in mind before clicking:

I wrote this when I got out of HS and got on a BIG 'subby older men' kick

The big age difference (Ruby is fresh out of HS)

The beginning of the summary is kinda gross cuz it's Eugene desperately making kidnapping plans and justifying them to himself

Ruby and Eugene are largely platonic for now. They get on romantically later but not in this section of the story.

Eugene led a life where he never stood out or was taken seriously. His family had a (criminally) successful background, with very successful children… and then there was him, who’s only usefulness was as ‘clean up. His poor communication skills never let him get far with any friendships, no one has ever been interested in him romantically... and once his parents died, the brother that took over fired him, so the rest of his life was wasted with menial jobs, barely coasting by, living in a warehouse his parents left him. The only thing left to his name.

He was severely depressed, in his most recent work as a janitor for a rich-kid high school. Pushed around by kids, paid pennies, he stayed on the floor after someone pushed him down and left. He was feeling pretty done with everything; considered leaving this place and not coming back. Then he noticed the hand in front of him, belonging to a pretty girl. A kind, popular and beloved senior student. She noticed him. She always greeted him and helped him when he struggled. She was an angel.... he was happy watching from afar. He was just a fan. But a teacher that knew him from years back, a popular man who would occasionally strike up a chat with him, noticed. And now the janitor had a devil on his shoulder.

He encouraged those thoughts. Slowly embedded himself as a friend for the janitor. Used this to get closer to him. He'd be an accomplice and help the older man get a chance at holding onto his little idol. Why? .... he tells him it's because he believes in good people deserving good things. And he knows Eugene has been lonely, and would be harmless. He’d just keep the girl safe and happy.

It's stupid reasoning but... it played on Eugene’s desperation. Lonely. He is lonely. And… It's not like he’s a stranger to this kind of work. Only this time it’d be personal. He naively accepts any and all help. They collude for the kidnapping. Eugene would be gentle, he insists this would just be an opportunity for them to get a chance to talk. He'd pamper her! He would never actually… hurt her...

The day would be their graduation. He had it all worked out. He knew where she'd be waiting for her bus. He knew she usually waited alone. But when he got there, it wasn't her he saw. It was a plain Jane. Someone he hadn't even noticed before.

He tried resolving himself. Everything was already planned... Why waste it? But he shook as he threatened her, and her lackluster response scared him. She even managed to make him cry. She wasn't who he wanted anyways... Why go through the trouble? Everything was wrong. Nothing ever went his way. He wanted to quit but-

To his surprise.

She came with him anyways

And she made herself at home.

The girl named Ruby.

He was nervous. Why was this going so smoothly? He kept waiting for the news to report her missing, for someone to have noticed the kidnapping, for her to snap and leave and bring the authorities.

Nothing happened.

He'd leave and she'd always still be there. Making the place messier by the day, living like a carefree parasite. She lived alone and didn't clean up much. She was a dick and figured he'd just clean any mess she left behind because he loooooves her.

He got annoyed. They bickered over chores, cleanliness and pass-times. After making him mad too many times almost to the point of tears, she shapes up and starts pulling her weight.

Ruby could rant for hours about her favorite pieces of media. He learned all about them whether he wanted to or not, even bought some of the games she’d mention.

She eventually even learned how to cook (since he’s terrible at it and they mostly just buy take out). Ruby also took up helping with some of the maintenance for their faulty home once she asked Eugene for demonstrations. Everything was peaceful. They formed a healthy cohabitation-partnership, filling gaps in their hearts they never thought would be filled.

Continuing the story, the Teacher came for a visit. He had never expected Eugene to actually kidnap someone. He had made it so that he’d fail by driving the original target to her home on the day of the graduation. He kept expecting to see a heartbroken janitor, but it never happened.

He was, instead, having his calls avoided.Texts unread. The Teacher took this as the Eugene being mad with him. So he waited for him to cool off. But now summer was almost over, and nothing had changed. He grows restless and stalks Eugene while he’s buying groceries, asking him how he's doing with his captive. He is shocked to hear it's going well.

After subtle nudges in the conversation, he is invited to the warehouse to see for himself. Ruby is not someone he recognizes immediately, but she knows him instantly.

Her homeroom teacher.

She was quick at putting things together, and her loose mouth belittled her ex-teacher for being a part of the kidnapping conspiracy. His distaste for her is solidified. For the next month, both of them keep jabbing at the other, the Teacher insisting on visiting more often and Ruby trying all manners to kick him out. This causes the janitor to have indigestion from the stress.

There's a room that has always been off limits for Ruby. She let it be, as someone that’s good with respecting privacy, but the Teacher knew what was inside. After figuring out the lie she believed so strongly, that the Janitor loved her and had picked her as his target, he took joy in visiting the warehouse while the older man was away and dashing her self esteem. He had stolen the key to the room and opened it for her. It was covered wall to wall in memorabilia of the original victim. Here it was, irrefutable proof that she was never special to him. He lied to her. He smiles as he hands her money and tells her her parents are still looking for her. A lie, but it's enough to make her go. He's won.

Eugene had kept the place locked tight and checked the cameras every hour at first because he didn't trust her, but eventually he relaxed enough to feel like he didn’t have to.

He regrets ever letting things get that comfortable as he’s greeted by an open door when he comes home.

She escaped. The Teacher told him all about it. How he found her in Eugene’s secret room. How she cried as she looked at the pictures. She was heartbroken. She ran away, cursing his name and said she would report him and make him out to be a monster. She couldn't love him. She never did.

The Teacher watched Eugene tremble, and steeled himself for the look he had been craving. For the despair, the loneliness, the panic. When the Janitor turned around, he got none of that.

'I'm going to bring her back.'

Chilling determination. This was unexpected. The delusional man started preparing as the flustered Teacher followed and tried to figure out why this wasn't working. Ruby didn't want him anymore! What did it matter? Eugene didn't even want her originally!

But the janitor was not listening, packing supplies like he was so used to doing back in the days of helping his family. Anything and everything for kidnapping.

He confessed so matter-of-factly. That he needs her now. He won’t go back to being alone. The teacher’s eyes widened at the man he was seeing transform in front of him. From the nervous wreck he had always seen him as, to a cold, calculating and scary predator.

He'd bring her back kicking and screaming if he had to.

Then the door opened and startled both men.

Ruby.

New hair cut, new look. She walked over to them and dropped a bag full of stuff on the counter.

'Yo, I'm hooome.'

The Teacher was beside himself and he stammered as he asked what she was doing. Hadn't she left? She scoffed. She just decided to wrap up some loose ends. She went home and left a note if her parents ever cared, which evidently, they hadn't, took stuff from her room that she missed, and got a haircut for... personal reasons. She's not playing by any rules anymore. She's out of school, out of having societal obligations and free.

This is where she is staying now.

This IS home.

At her tone, both parties begin hearing the sobbing behind the Teacher. Eugene is… crying, and he drops his kidnapping bag. He is so relieved.

'You're back! You came back!'

Ruby is surprised, but her face softens immediately at the pathetic man. 'Really, you crybaby… of course I did! I told you I was your problem now, didn't I?'

She moved over to him.

'What was the bag for?... Where you going to run?' He clung to her arm and spilled his thoughts.

'No! I was going to... to bring you back! I... I didn't want you to leave! I wanted you back, I...'

She laughed. It sounded so warm... She hugged him and cooed at his tears, rubbing his back and making sounds like a mother shushing her child. He hugged her back; the first embrace shared between the two.

'I'm so glad to hear that you like me that much...'

'.... yeah?' Eugene was still shaking from the overwhelming hour he’s had. This was too much emotion for one day.

'Yeah!’ Ruby pulled away, and Eugene was struck by how much he didn’t like that. She walked over to the bag she brought from her house and rustled for something. ‘Because now...'

She pulled out a roll of garbage bags and opened one up. She was grinning, but it had an edge.

'We are going to clean that horrid room you've kept locked up.'
