reblog this and tag with a food you no longer have access to (closed restaurant, state you moved away from, ex’s mom’s cooking, etc) that will haunt you until your dying day, mine are the spicy chicken sandwich on the employee menu at the fine dining restaurant I was a prep cook at, and the onion bagel from the kosher place down the street from my house when I lived in the city

god. GOD. the underlying anger in everything terry writes really IS apparent in hogfather bc fuck u mean this is how things should be? no the fuck it shouldn't. poor people shouldn't have to be satisfied with what they get, that's just fucking capitalism. i REALLY like that terry decided to use death as projection for what he thinks bc death doesn't know anything and it has to be explained to him and by it being explained to him it shows how fucking stupid those things are. bc ok here's this world where an equivalent of santa ACTUALLY exists and, because it mirrors our world, it's still unjust. santa actually fucking exists in this world and he could give ANYONE ANYTHING bc he's essentially a god and people gave him that power by making him up, BUT because ppl imagined him in a way that poor people don't get shit (like they usually do) and rich people get EVERYTHING they want, he exists like that. whereas death has seen the absolutely WORST of humanity and he STILL thinks that's bullshit and it's not how it should be, it's just how it goes. bc capitalism is always capitalism where there's money and the world will always be fucked up as long as there are oppressor to hold it up. like i just.

you don't understand how normal i am about the mario & luigi series' FIRST game featuring prince peasley, a character who not only remembers luigi's name, but chooses to forget mario's all while continuously treating luigi like the extra special one out of both the brothers
like. this game emphasized the whole "haha luigi's a loser" mentality nintendo rly latched onto. in the start of this game he is repeatedly being forgotten and belittled and dragged along this way and that
and then all of a sudden this PRINCE shows up and starts giving luigi all this special attention like? AH. the idea that luigi's self esteem is already so low and then all of a sudden he's having roses thrown in his lap, nicknames given to him, and thanks/compliments left and right
not to mention the. ahem. butt stabbing scene...
and the aforementioned deliberate choice of words on peasley's part when referring to mario. he recognizes that luigi is hardly referred to by name and extends that kind of lack of recognition to MARIO instead of luigi, for once!
and luigi reciprocates hardcore!
he starts greeting/saying goodbye to peasley by waving his hat, blushing around him, collapsing to the floor and sobbing when peasley puts himself in a dangerous situation, and rushing to hug him at the end of the game
and there’s other little things: like how peasley is straight up winking as he goes to catch luigi from falling
and in the remake, luigi keeps peasley's rose under his hat! 🥺
in conclusion: i think their relationship is really important for luigi's self esteem and character arc and more people should witness and recognize their very canonical romance. thank you. <3

augh! The newest part of my hundred and fifty year old house is the den and sunroom, which were added on...sometime between the 60-80s, if I had to guess. And they are by far the poorest-constructed parts of the house. The sunroom had a leak last winter, which I initially attributed to an ice dam in the gutters (cue me on a ladder in an ice storm, chiseling ice out of the gutters with a pick and my bare hands while getting pelted with chunks of sleet) and that seemed to have done the job. But I've cleaned the gutters out plenty and for the last three rainstorms, there's been a leak in the sunroom every time, so I think it's a more serious issue.
On the other hand, I have a rube goldberg machine of houseplants feeding ceiling-drip water into each other before all dripping into the rainwater bucket, so that's certainly saving me some watering. The fiddle leaf feeds into the philodendron; the philodendron feeds into the rubber plant; the rubber plant feeds into the monstera; the monstera feeds into the parlor palm, and into the bucket on the floor.
