-Oh.. What do you mean you don't like food?! He can't believe it…

-But he's okay with it, at least in the beginning of your relationship. That just means he can get a second portion, eating your meal himself. (or maybe it was a third one, as you can see Levi sitting next to Beel with a disappointed face, screaming when he gets time to eat his dish too..)

-But he's kinda curious, why did you decide to go on a diet? In his eyes, you're already perfect and he can't see this "extra pounds" you are talking about.

-Well, but Asmo also sometimes left his plate half unfinished, mumbling about the new blouse he wants to feet in, so Beel kinda understands your motives. But still, is all this diets actually worth it?

-He actually also has a diet, but quite the opposite of yours, as the only rule he's following is eating everything he wants, so he can gain more weight and put it on his muscles. Don't want to try?

-But as time passes and you become closer to him, he will try more and more to feed you, worrying that you are starving. You really want to say it's enough for you? For him, this little plate that you just eat looks like a glass of water, nothing that nutritious.

-So he would take you to different cafes and restaurants often, as it's his favorite type of date - just sitting together and eating, talking softly about some random things.

-"I hear that there's a new cafe opening tomorrow.." - he said with an excited expression, you already can see this hungry glow in his eyes and a little joyful blush on cheeks. But when he looks at you, he blushes a little bit more, smiling softly - "S/o.. You're the one which I wanted to share food with on this day, as it would be a special occasion, isn't it? What do you think?"

-He loves food, and he loves you, so why not connect these two things that always cheer him up? Even if you order something small, he's still glad that he was able to spend some time with you.

-"Ooh, this one is absolutely something.." - he leaned closer as you two were sitting in a cafe, his finger pointing out at the dish in the menu you have in your arms. - "I always can't get enough, you should try this meal too, s/o..!"

-Well, but if you are a vegetarian, he will not try to change that, respecting your choice. But it doesn't mean he wouldn't add an extra spoon of salad to your plate when you don't see that. He's still worried, after all!

-Would scold Mammon, as he's the one who always forgets that you don't eat meat when it's his turn to cook for everyone.

-"Beel, don't play nice, you just wanted to eat their portions, huh?!" - Mammon scoffs while Beel carefully takes pieces of meat from your plate. Well, maybe it's also the truth, but he's mostly worried about you, as he doesn't want you to skip dinner.

-After all, you're his precious human, and even if your stomach is not working like his own, Beel still loves you, always ready to help you with leftovers or recommend a delicious dish if you suddenly want to eat more.

-Oh, how foolish you are, being so nice and generous with everyone around...!

-He can't believe that - have all his dreams actually come true and now he has this cute looking wallet walking around him?!

-Yes, he will try to take advantage of it - it's a payment for his guide, after all!! He was the first who introduced you to everything around here, so it's natural that you're so kind to him, isn't it?! (no it's not and Lucifer would punish this poor greedy man when he will hear about this..)

-"You should be very grateful, s/o, that I am always babysitting you.." - Mammon shrugs his shoulders with smuggy face - "Other demons are not as good as I am, so always be next to me or someone will try to trick you, alright?!"

-Well, or at least Mammon tries to think like that. It's humbling to admit even for himself that your naiveness in finance actually touched his heart.

-You always don't mind buying him something or making a sudden gift, you know how hard it is to hide his blush?!

-"Is.. is it for me?!" - he looks surprised at the little box you give him, and then laughs happily with the most cheerful expression you've ever seen on him. - "That's it! That's my human, you always know how to cheer me up..!"

-But.. Something in his soul told him that he should do the same for you, when he sits in his room late at night, holding all your presents close to his chest. It's the only time when he can let his sensitive soul out, blushing and smiling awkwardly.

-He's kinda worried now.. You're almost the pure opposite of him. What if one day he would actually annoy you with his greedy behavior?! He can't lose this beautiful kind smile you always have for him..

-So he would try to make you a gift in return. Yes, "make", as Lucifer froze his credit card once again and he can't buy anything now. But also he thought that.. Aren't the things that you made with your own arms more valuable? It means you put effort and love in this..

-"S/o, be glad cause today is your lucky day! The great Mammon was so kind to condescend to merely humans and give you this..!" - despite his pompous speech you can see how heavily he blushes, holding a box in golden wrap in his trembling hands - "You should thank me for centuries now..!"

-But when you giggle and actually thank him, telling how much you appreciate something like that, he can't help but loosen up a little and stop being so mouthy, finally showing his softer side.

-"Hehe..glad you like it. I hope you look forward to something more, as I don't mind surprising you again.. especially when you smile at me like that.."

-His worst nightmare came true.. There's another normie in this house!!

-He is already having Asmo, who's always bubbling around about his parties and rich social life, but now there's you too, having no idea about games he's playing and anime he's watching..!

-Levi is kinda nervous every time he's talking with you. What if he gets infected with this "normie" virus?!

-But you are always so open and easygoing, absolutely opposite of his acute social withdrawal.. Why is talking with you so addicting?! Even when he starts mumbling about some specific details of his favorite Tale of the Seven Lords, you keep listening to him, and it makes him want to talk more and more..!

-"Hm.. For someone who's had their minds so deeply in this horrifying "party-party" thing, you are not that bad. You're good at catching everything that I say on the fly.." - he admires and looks away, ashamed. Why is his hand so sweaty and his voice trembling so much?!

-Even if he tries to talk with you less often, it feels worse.. just when he gets used to your bright presence in his hermit's life?! Your warm smile and little chit chats cheer him up so much, even more than the new figure of Ruri-chan that he bought recently.. Is he actually going insane?!

-So he breaks eventually and starts to drag you to his bedroom sometimes just to watch something together or play a new videogame he buys, cause now enjoying all this stuff all alone was not that pleasant. With you, experiencing the new series was much more interesting, and oh how fun it is to share his thoughts about cosplay with someone..!

-He was also quite surprised - someone with such a cute face as yours never heard of cosplay?! Hold on, your appearance reminds him about one of wizards from an anime he watched not that long ago, don't you wanna try now?

-"Here.. " - he shows you a picture of an anime character in some magic school uniform that actually looks like you - "We.. we can watch it together, so you would understand their behavior and know how to cosplay them, alright?!"

-If Levi can't resist this urge to talk with you, he at least tries to lure you in his world, recommending some interesting anime that would be easy to watch for beginners, lending you his manga and CD with games.

-"It's never too late to become a true otaku! You have the right potential!" - he nods with furrowed brows and takes the volume of manga that he gave you before from your arms - "And now it's time for a quiz!! Be ready, s/o!!"

-If in the beginning everything looked like a poor quality comedy to him, now he feels like he is in some romantic series and he's the main character..! He can remember an anime title with a similar plot where otaku fall in love with gyaru, maybe everything would be the same with you two?! He should recommend this anime to you next then..

Can we have more sibling banter between Mario and Luigi? Have some of my thoughts on them

Mario and Luigi def insult each other (this next part I will take directly from one of my head canons posts because I'm too lazy enough to think of more stuff lol) :

Mario: Luigi you’re looking extra ugly today. What did you do? Get a shower? Your skin looks like it’s melting off like the wicked witch of the west

Luigi: Look who’s talking you red bowling ball, you look like a love child between Danny DaVitto and Golem from lord of the ring, who's very existence makes god weep knowing he has to look at your face when you die

Mario: We have almost the same face you you dried out celery stick

Luigi: You’re the one that started it ‘jump man’

They pull pranks on each other all the time, such as Mario hiding Luigi's stuff around the house on their birthday, making him think he misplaced or simply forgot to out it back in its right place, until he looks at/in the object which will have a little note that would say something along the lines of "loosing your marbles already old man?", it's tradition at this point. Luigi would be a bit more smart and creative though, such as loosing all the screws on Mario's chair, so when he sits down on it, it falls apart, or putting tiny rocks under the insoles of Mario's shoes, so he feels them, but every time he tales his shoes off no rocks come out.

I headcanon that Mario has ADHD and Luigi has autism, so imagine with me, Luigi info dumping about his current hyper fixation, and Mario loosing his train of thought a lot through their convo

Luigi: and then ther is this thing about it!

Mario: that's cool, it reminds me of... Ummm.... Oh what was I gonna say!..................................................................................What were we talking about just now?

Luigi: * specific thing* I was on about

Mario: oh right! Go on

It works both ways, but Mario prefers to listen to Luigi, of course sometimes he just gets annoyed though

Mario: Luigi I love you, but I'm not interested right now, I'm trying to watch something here

Luigi: we'll screw you too (in a joking matter)

They both stim, with Luigi it's more vocal stimming such a screeching (he mainly does it in a more comfortable setting, such as at home) popping, clicking his tongue and random Jiberish, he likes to rock and jump when he's standing either when excited or bored, and occasionally will grab Mario's arms and flail his hands about, Mario is chill with this and laughs a little whenever Luigi does it, it's justbhis way of showing hebis excited and wants to share that with people

Mario stims through Echolalia (repeating certains words, phrases or sounds) visual stimming and tapping, he likes to stare at fire and flashing/ colour chnaging lights, he watches little ants on the floor move, we will watch the clouds slowly change in the sky, and he will move his head side to side looking at how the lighting changes on the jewels in Peaches crown. In meetings when he's bored an can't speak, he will tap his fingers or a pen and bounce his leg

They both know eachothers stimming, and encourage eachother doing so, so they don't get overwhelmed, but also as a way of showing his they are feeling to their friends without actually saying what they are feeling

Mario will randomly wake up in the middle of the night to go to the kitchen for something, only to find Luigi already awake and doing something in the kitchen

Mario: what are you doing up bro? Nightmares again?

Luigi: a little it's more of the phantom pain from my burn scars again (headcanon of him having burn scars from holding the man hole cover to protect mario)

Mario: shit, that doesn't sound fun

Luigi: it isn't, but I can't go back to sleep, so I made cookies, their on the cooling wrack

Mario: thought I smelt something good. Do you want me to stay up with you?

Luigi: nah, it'll pass eventually, currently talking with Rosalina over text to keep myself occupied, she says hi by the way

Mario: alrighty, I hope it goes away soon, and tell Rosie I send my love. Goodnight

Luigi: night bro

Peach often keeps Luigi up to speed on Mario's condition when he's not at home, and Luigi does the same for Peach, they have a running joke of calling Mario anything but Mario when talking about him, so he doesn't really understand they are on about him

Mario def jokes about Luigi's love life, when he does this however, Luigi reminds him of how he has not even accepted his own feelings about a certain princess, which quickly shuts him up

In the end, they make fun of eachother a lot, but are eachothers biggest fans, no one will ever love Luigi morebthan Mario, and no one will ever respect Mario more than Luigi

Oh my goodness! Hello!

I wanted to pop in and say that I absolutely adore Intrinsic Warmth. I honestly requested an AO3 account so I can stay updated with whenever you post. I literally read Intrinsic Warmth for the better part of my Wednesday. Chapter 12 was so heartbreaking, I really hope Gojo and Hebi figure things out stat.

If you dont mind, I have a few questions regarding Gojo (i dont know if you’ll expand on later or just leaving it be - so absolutely no pressure to answer this).

Number one is in the 2007 oneshot Gojo thinks about one time before the big fight where he thought of Hebi in a romantic light - will we ever figure out what that moment was?

and then my second question is: did Gojo ever speak to Jin Hebi in chapter 10 when Hebi left to go have a bit of a panic attack in the other room. I’d be super curious in what their interaction would be like now Gojo is an adult.

No pressure at all with these questions! You’ve created such an amazing character and I love how Hebi interacts with everyone in the story, I can’t wait for chapter 13.

Hello!! Thank you so much :( That's so cool and crazy--and bingeing a fic that's nearing 150k words in one day is absolutely insane, and you're stronger than me. IW is reaching my usual cut-off point for fics, lmao, in terms of word count--and I just know it's so likely we'll be reaching 200k at some point, which just gets a bit long for me LOL. So you're braver than me!! Huzzah!

And questions! For sure! I love getting questions because I either 100% know the answer and get to be like, oooh! they noticed!, or it's something I literally hadn't even considered and now I'm like, ooh! I've got to think about this some more!

The first one is somewhere in the middle. I've got one irl friend who properly knows about IW, and she's my first port of call when I have random questions about characterisation or how things come across in my writing (she's awesome), and something she said ages ago was actually the inspiration for the 2007 oneshot, about Gojo having dreams about Hebi without really understanding what it meant. Anyway, she's mentioned that she's always thought 15yo Gojo would've had the tiniest little inkling of some feelings, which honestly was why I put that in there.

Also, honestly because I thought it was pretty funny to put a reference in there without any elaboration. Will they notice? What will they think? ha ha ha he he he.

I can't say at the moment whether I'll circle back to it! If it comes up in IW then I might talk about it as a nudge-nudge-wink-wink to the tumblr people over here, but I also can't see myself writing a oneshot about it just because I do think the ambiguity is really really funny. tldr, I'm not sure! Maybe. It's up to future me.

Your second question falls squarely in the realm of, oh shit, I didn't even think about that but now I absolutely have to. I too would be super curious about their dynamic! Damn. I hadn't thought about what Gojo was doing when Hebi was off, not with any specifics, but I absolutely do want to explore how an interaction between him and her dad would work now they're adults.

Okay, after thinking about it for a little more: when he was younger, Gojo would have never missed an opportunity to talk to the Hebi family, esp. Jin, my girl's father. Usually to taunt them, show off, pretty ostentatious and superior. It'd stem from his hatred of them from what they did to Hebi, but also from the more immature desire to prove his superiority over everyone.

I think when he'd get older and more mature, when Hebi was retreating from her family, he'd see speaking with her family as somewhat of a betrayal of her, a la 2005. If she's not talking to them, he shouldn't either, to show solidarity. Also, it'd be politically wise: excluding the family from the company of Satoru Gojo is an intentional slight, and one that would have been felt throughout all of the society. But I can't see politics being Gojo's main motivator; it'd have to be his loyalty to Hebi. His hatred of her family wouldn't have changed, probably just getting stronger to be fair, but there would be less of that childish need to assert himself as the 'best' over her family.

But I think, at some point, he would have spoken to them, and properly gone off on them. I can't think at the moment as to when, specifically, but I just have a feeling he would have, as an adult. Maybe when she wasn't speaking to him? Not sure. But this is something I want to circle back to. If you see it in future IW chapters, you know why!!!!

Ships: Aside from all the canon pairs, I do a lot of multishipping and I do shift my HC of their sexuality, orientation, and ID around depending on my stories. Ships: Aside from all the canon pairs, I do a lot of multishipping and I do shift my HC of their sexuality, orientation, and ID around depending on my stories. My ships outside canon are: narusasusaku and pair variations, nejiten, saiinosaku and pair variations, kakaguy, kakairu, kakayama, kakaobi, shinokiba, sasusui, and suikarin. In that order. There's probably more that I don't remember.

Today was a pretty big day for Nekoma. Though it wasn’t any big championship game, it was the first game the boys were getting to play since winter break.

The entire bus ride to the school the boys seemed to be overly hyped up, singing all sorts of songs and shouting in excitement.

You couldn’t help but look back at the team as they all sang and cheered while you remained up at the front of the bus sitting next to Coach Nekomata.

Normally you would choose to sit next to your boyfriend, Kuroo Tetsuro, but it turned out the captain wanted to give you a rundown of the school since you were the team’s manager.

And besides, you figured Kuroo should be sitting with his teammates and joining in on the hype since he was part of the team and the captain at that.

But just because you were sitting far away that didn’t mean you didn’t steal a few glances and winks on the bus ride there. Each time you glanced back when it got obnoxiously loud his hazel cat like eyes would be on you, his lips curved in a lazy smirk.

Feeling your cheeks warm up you would just scrunch your nose at him and smile before whipping your head back to the coach next to you.

The two of you usually always sat together on the way back since everyone was typically asleep by then so you just had to wait till then. For you, it was worth the wait.

As much as you loved the team’s loud shenanigans and energy, two hours of it was a bit exhausting. Once you felt the bus jolt to a stop you were the first to jump up with a relieved sigh, the feeling of fresh air hitting your face would surely be a relief.

“Alright boys grab your bags and let’s head inside so we can greet our team and get started with warming up.” Coach Nekomata shouted over the noise, causing the team to fall silent before they all shouted a yes in understanding.

Once the coach nodded to you a smile crept on your face, ready to be out of the cursed bus. Thanking the driver with a small bow you grabbed your small bag and dashed down the steps as the doors opened.

Sure enough the feeling of the warm sun hitting your face mixed with the cool winter air felt like heaven. The wind dancing through your (h/c) locks let your neck cool off a bit from the cramped up bus.

Though you were expecting the wind to hit your face as you stepped off the bus, what you weren’t expecting was a hard surface to smack against your face. It honestly felt like a wall but when you stepped back to rub your head you soon found out it was a body.

Blinking up at the boy as you glanced at him through your fingers that were rubbing your forehead, you let out a gasp in surprise before quickly bowing down repeatedly in apology.

“I’m so sorry that was my fault! I should’ve looked both ways before I hopped off the bus I was just really-”

The feeling of fingers grabbing your chin caused you to silence as they gently pulled your bent over figure upwards, the boy making you tilt your forehead up towards his own.

“Don’t apologize that was my fault for standing too close, are you alright love?”

For a few seconds all you could do was stare with widened eyes, how could such a large scary looking guy be so gentle? When the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs of the bus were heard that’s when you realized just how close your face was to his own.

Quickly swatting his hand away you jumped back a few feet and lifted your hands up nervously, “I..I’m okay! D..Don’t worry on my account.”

Your eyes were quick to move towards the door of the bus, what you were dreading was already playing out before your very eyes.

Kuroo was glaring down towards the boy, moving quickly to jump off the steps and stand between you and this random boy.

Of course he saw everything that happened.

“Are you on the team playing us today?” Kuroo spoke in a chillingly neutral tone. The sound made you dread the talk he was going to give you once you got inside.

The boy you had run into seemed unfazed, he simply smiled and nodded before holding his hand out, “I am indeed, I’m the team captain Fumihiro Hebi.”

The sight of your boyfriend smiling down to the boy had goosebumps running down your skin, he was the type that was scarier silent than full out yelling.

“Kuroo Tetsurō, a pleasure to meet you.”

You were hoping one of the boys would help break the awkward tension as they both shook each other’s hands firmly but they looked as lost as you were. And of course Coach Nekomata had already walked inside so it was up to you.

“Well we better get going! Don’t wanna be late for warmups!” You exclaimed as you smacked your clipboard against Kuroo’s arm to get his attention.

Fumihiro seemed unfazed by this, simply smiling and nodding as your team slowly started to make their way in the school.

You followed next to Kuroo, refusing to look him in the eye as you held on tight to your clipboard. The feeling of his hand snatching your own with an iron grip had to let out a slight yelp before you hunched your shoulders down.

Surely Fumihiro saw the action which made you internally sigh in relief, hopefully he would back off now. Your only problem now was dealing with your clearly pissed off boyfriend.

The game was about to start in five minutes. The other team looked fairly good sure, but they stood no chance against Nekoma. Honestly you were glad, the team could use a win before they jumped into training season.

While you helped the other team manager set up you kept a close eye on Kuroo, he seemed okay but still off. You were on the debate on whether you should say something. He remained quiet the entire way into the school so you hadn’t said a word since, but you knew if the captain was off then the entire team would too.

You felt your heart race as your team did their last few drills, should you say something or not?

As the sound of the whistle blew you jumped, realizing you had run out of time to even talk to him as the players began lining up from either side of the net.

“Thank you for the game!” Each side shouted as the captains, coaches, and managers met in the middle for the coin toss.

You couldn’t help but glance back and forth between the captains, their eyes drilling into one another as you bit your lip and your leg bounced nervously.

“It has landed on tails, home team gets to decide.” The referee spoke causing Kuroo to huff as the other captain smirked.

“We choose to start on offense.” Fumihiro spoke smoothly before he smirked down to you and winked, “After all I like our wins to be quick and easy.”

Blushing in surprise you gasped when Kuroo stomped away back to his team. You attempted to shout his name but he simply ignored you. Glancing toward Coach Nekomata he was already shaking his head with a worried expression.

“This won’t be good.”

Sure enough the first round ended with Nekoma at a horrible defeat, 15-25. As they were in the second round tied at 17-17 you couldn’t help but cringe as you watched Nekoma all over the place.

One thing you prided yourself on about Nekoma was the way they could move like they were dancing in sync, the way they communicated sometimes even without saying a word. They always moved with grace and skill.

But today that wasn’t the case.

Kuroo wasn’t a very loud person when he was angry, which made the entire situation worse. Every time the other team scored he would just growl and grit his teeth, glaring into the eyes of that stupid cocky jerk of a captain on the other side.

You hated this, all of it. Usually your boyfriend was dripping in confidence to the point where it was almost annoying. You had never quite seen this side of him. 

Even Kenma attempted to talk to him but he simply shooed his friend away. When Kuroo missed another block for about the twentieth time today you finally snapped.

“Timeout!” You shouted causing both teams to glance at your bright red face. Only now, it was red out of anger.

The referee looked at you in confusion since Manager’s usually didn’t get to decide but Coach Nekomata was quick to nod behind you and make the timeout hand gesture.

As the team began to walk towards you to the bench, you felt the coach place his hand on your shoulder, “Talk some sense into that boy so we don’t lose this simple game.”

Glancing back at him you nodded, looking over and scanning all the faces until your eyes fell on your boyfriend’s own annoyed once. Gritting your teeth you grabbed his wrist and yanked him down the court towards the double doors of the hallway.

Of course even with all your strength you wouldn’t be able to drag him so that meant he must’ve gave in to your request as he shuffled behind you.

Slamming your body agains the door you swung it open and dragged Kuroo into the hallway with you.

“What the hell Tetsurō?” You hissed, the sound of his full name reaching your lips causing him to frown before raising an annoyed brow.

“What are you so pissed off about (F/n)? Yeah we’re losing they’re a good fucking team, just focus on their stupid pretty boy captain if you don’t wanna see us lose.”

That very sentence had your blood boiling as your mouth dropped wide, the two of you had been dating for six months and he had the nerve to tell you that?

The fact that he couldn’t even look you in the eye felt like a stab to the chest. Gritting your teeth you felt your body move before your brain could react as you slapped him square across the cheek.

In any other circumstance you would’ve frozen in shock, but when his wide eyes glanced down at you from the slap you felt you had to speak. To say something now that you had him back in reality.

“T..Tetsu why would you say that?” You muttered, pain laced in your voice as you bit your lip to fight the warm tears that were beginning to flood your vision, “You know I’m your girlfriend!”

Kuroo’s face remained stern but he still kept his eyes on you, “Well you didn’t seem to bothered when he moved your face close to his or when he started flirting you up.”

"I literally slapped his hand away as soon as I could! He took me by surprise is all!” You shouted in defense, your voice echoing through the empty halls.

Kuroo glanced down to you with a blank expression before looking out the window of the door to see the timeout was almost out of time.

“Look we can talk about this after the game (L/n)..” Kuroo spoke with little emotion as he began walking towards the door.

You blinked in surprise, this was the first time he ever ignored you. After every fight he made sure to apologize even if it wasn’t his fault. Was he really that jealous of that stupid captain?

The sight of his back turned to you made you feel sick inside, it felt like he was walking away from your entire relationship. This... you couldn’t let this happen. Screw the stupid volleyball game, this was about losing the man you loved.

“TETSURŌ I LOVE YOU.”

As you shouted those words off the top of your lungs you noticed Kuroo freeze in his steps towards the door, he looked back at you with widened eyes whispering something but you couldn’t see over the streams of tears running down your cheeks.

“I..I love you stupid Tetsurō... I love you I love you I love you, and I won’t stop saying it until-”

Your words were cut off when a pair of lips smashed against your own, your eyes widened in surprise for a moment only for you to melt into the kiss as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

The kiss was brief, but passionate. It held every bit of emotion the two of you had been holding back these past few hours and it felt good to finally be released.

Pulling away Kuroo flashed you one of his rare genuine smiles as he used his thumb to wipe away the few tears on your cheek.

“I love you too (F/n)” Kuroo muttered placing one more kiss on the tip of your nose causing you to giggle, “I’m sorry I was acting like a dick, I guess this whole time I was just scared you didn’t feel the same way and when that asshole touched you I just-”

“Don’t even speak of it,” You muttered, your hand cupping his cheek as you smiled up to him softly, “You’re the only one I love Kuroo Tetsurō so don’t even waste your breath on that jerk.”

The boy before you smile as he pulled you into one more tight embrace before your grinned up to him, “Now go make that stupid captain ever regret challenging you Tetsu.”

Kuroo smirked at this as he held your hand in his own and nodded, both of you walking out those doors with a new confidence in your relationship you never had before.

The last two games were over almost quicker than the first round. Kuroo’s confidence lifted the team as always and they were back in their usual flow to take the game by storm.

Coach Nekomata was more than pleased as the boys all cheered, feeling this victory for many reasons. He walked towards you and bowed slightly before grinning up to you.

“Thanks for saving the game (L/n), I’m glad you two love birds are on an ‘I love you’ basis now.”

You smiled and bowed to him until he finished the last part of his sentence, your body freezing as you jumped back in surprise.

“Y..You heard that?”

The coach simply chuckled and crossed his arms, “The whole gym did, you really had the crowd going with that slap.”

You couldn’t help but feel your cheeks heat up as you laughed sheepishly, “I..It was in the heat of the moment.”

Honestly mixed with the embarrassment you felt, you also were happy that everyone heard. Let it be known that you and Kuroo loved each other.

The sight of your team all hugging had you smiling brightly, it was always nice watching them after a win. Your eyes caught with Kuroo’s, his hazel eyes shining brightly down to you.

You were about to jog on the court and give him a celebratory hug but the sound of your name being called had you whipping your head towards the doors.

The other team’s manager was standing by them, waving you over. Smiling you nodded and trotted to her, but not without a pair of hazel eyes following your body with suspicion.

“What’s up Aiko-chan?” You asked with a smile as she led you outside, she looked a bit nervous which had you on edge.

Once you stepped out into the afternoon air your body froze at the sight of Fumihiro standing there with his arms crossed, stupid smirk on his face.

“Aiko why did you-” Before you could finish you looked around to see she had already shuffled back inside the gym leaving you to sigh.

You glanced back to Fumihiro only for him to gently lead you back into the wall of the gym as he placed his hand behind your head against the gym wall.

“Nice save back there, would’ve been a shame if you lost that temperamental boyfriend of yours.”

Your eyes widened as you felt yourself growing more uncomfortable by the second. Forcing a smile you attempted to slide the opposite way to move further from him.

“That wasn’t exactly a save, I really do love my boyfriend and I meant it.”

Suddenly Fumihiro’s other hand slammed on the other side of your head, quickly caging you in causing you to yelp.

“C’mon doll are you really sure? I could show you a much better time if you just give me a chance~”

Squeezing your eyes shut you tilted your head away from his own and tried to escape his barricade he created.

“I’m not interested, please let me go!” You shouted angrily as he ignored your uncomfortable cries and advanced.

How point a got to point b you didn’t know, but luckily before anything got serious you noticed a large hand grabbing Fumihiro’s collar before it yanked him back away from you causing the boy to stumble.

Your eyes filed with fear slightly softened when you saw Kuroo standing before you, worry written across his face as he quickly draped his red jacket over your shoulders and held you close.

“Wow you really can’t read a room buddy,” Kuroo spoke cooly, his hazel eyes glaring down to the boy who looked up to him with wide eyes, “Next time you touch my kitten after she tells you to back off, I can promise you won’t be able to show any girl a ‘good time’ ever again.”

The captain simply nodded, but Kuroo didn’t give him the time to respond as he led you towards the bus along with his teammates who only sneered at the scene.

“Thank you Kuroo.. that guy is so creepy...” You muttered, gripping onto his jersey tightly as he allowed you to step on the bus before he followed suit, the two of you going to your usual seat in the back of the bus.

“Well I can’t let the princess I love be harassed by some peasant.” Kuroo spoke smoothly, his classic lazy smirk on his lips as he leaned against the window and motioned for you to sit beside him.

Smiling warmly you leaned against his chest and allowed him to wrap his muscular arms around your chest as you cuddled in his jacket.

How could you of gotten so lucky?

Kakagai is my number one favourite Naruto ship, but you’ll also find some sasunaru, inosaku, gaanaru and nejiten on here.

Also I LOVE TEAM GAI WITH ALL MY HEART, they are my precious taijutsu kids and they all deserved so much better!! I will always be ready to talk about them.

And just recently, my obsession with Itachi began, I just fell right into that...

I often set out to the deeply hidden corners of tumblr to find some vastly underappreciated fanart which you will probably witness through random hours of content regarding only one theme.

What you won’t find here:

I don’t ship any minors with adults, therefore stuff like kakasaku, kakanaru, Lee x Gai or similar ships will never be here.

I don’t think I’ll really be reblogging nsfw content, and if so, then most certainly nothing too explicit, that just isn’t my style.

Also there won’t be much triggering stuff, I don’t think it’ll get further than some blood smears.

Tagging system:

I try to tag trigger warnings with “name of trigger + tw” and nsfw (though there won’t really be much to tag) accordingly, but if you have ideas for improvement, please feel free to tell me.

Looking for characters:

Every character is tagged with first and last name, exceptions are those who don’t have one and the sand siblings which are tagged with just their first name since I was confused about that whole “sabaku no” thing. 

I write “Kurenai Yuuhi” with double u because it looks cooler, but otherwise I decided to just use one, for example in “Hyuga”.

I tag Yamato solely as Tenzo because I really vibe with Kakashi and if he calls him Tenzo, then so do I. ^^

Might Guy is tagged as Maito Gai because I love sticking to the Japanese versions and also because I think this befits him better, for some reason.

Special character group tags:

#underappreciated jonin squad: Includes all the jonin (and also chunin) from Konoha that nobody really knows the name of, as the memes say. I am proud to claim that by now, I do know their names. Examples: Raido Namiashi, Genma Shiranui (love this guy), Kotetsu Hagane etc.

#sand sibs: The tag for the three wonderful siblings from Suna. Temari, Kankuro and Gaara.

#og squad: Includes the Konoha eleven and Sasuke, but also the sand sibs. Basically everyone you would watch Boruto for. (Sorry for the shade if you really enjoy Boruto)

#hokage squad: All the hokage of Konoha.

#uchiha brothers: Itachi and Sasuke interacting.

#team 7: I use this tag to respect Tenzo’s leadership alongside Kakashi’s, so this tag includes Tenzo and Sai as rightful members of team 7.

#team gai, #team kurenai, #team asuma etc.: All other teams are named after their sensei.

#team taka: Not team hebi, I never really liked that name.

#sannin: I’m actually not sure if I have used or ever will use this tag since I like neither Jiraiya nor Orochimaru that much, but maybe for Tsunade i will.

i just read one of your asks about your future fics. have you considered writing about sasukes interactions with karin?? not sasukarin (but sasukarin is still a good ship!!) but i really like your karin meta and would love to see her in your fics, even if she isnt part of a ship!!

wow Anon I just realized in the last nice ask I received about my writing I forgot to mention a suisasu oneshot I started writing as a drabble here…I haven’t thought about writing something centered on Sasuke and Karin, usually I wrote about Team Taka as a team, as in my Team Taka headcanons here, here and in bits of In Power (ff.net/ ao3) and What He Wanted (ff.net/ ao3).

I know what you mean when you love a character like Karin and you want to see her more, even in a not shippy context. And I totally agree that SasuKarin really IS a good ship, the only worthy Sasuke ship with a girl, tbh. (I think Sasuino would be ok too but I’m not interested in it all all as I find it boring, and I prefer Saiino anyway).

(needless to say: SS shippers, don’t read, this is not for you. And since it’s properly tagged as anti, don’t bitch)

It’s only a matter of personal taste, I’m usually more interested in rarer pairings, and because when I think of Team Taka ships I’m more intrigued by suisasu and juusasu that in my opinion have room for both ‘healthy’ dynamics and darker ones. But if I weren’t so slow and full of future writing projects as you read, I’d totally like to write them. In fact, I’m gonna leave some random headcanons here cause I’m sorry I’m not able to write all the things I have in mind and you guys mention, AND because I’m so late replying to this ask that I feel guilty xD

My favourite things to read and write isn’t romance but dark stuff and hurt/comfort, so I would love some hurt/comfort between them, and there is a lot of possibility for this, just thinking about canon. I actually see SK hurt/comfort as canon behind the screen so you may have an idea already, both for shippy and non-shippy stuff.

For example, there’s nothing about Sasuke’s years at Otogakure but we know he was always with Orochimaru, not only training or taking poisons/drugs to get stronger, but also visiting other hideouts and assisting to his horrible experiments as well as seeing/meeting Suigetsu and Karin, mostly, as she was not a prisoner but a subordinate, kinda like Kabuto. She saw more about Sasuke than the others in Team Taka, and this may mean a lot of things. For example like in this fanart, inspired by that Karin-centric filler episode (I think 331) where she witnesses Orochimaru taking Sasuke in a dark room which seems quite creepy and may be interpreted as…eh, you get it. And there’s also Kabuto telling her that Sasuke sought Orochimaru, that he came her by his own choice…that, in this dark context, that he is ok with things being done to him (it’s the price for power). 

So it’s interesting to imagine Karin being more and more intrigued by this person, who saved her in the past, when they were genin, and who now came to her creepy leader that she knows very well, and ‘lets’ him do all sorts of things to him. Some random headcanons coming, more or less connected

-(tw: pain) Otogakure: she’s doing some work and she overhears someone moaning in pain, and she sees Sasuke shirtless, strapped to a table/bed and kind of squirming, as he’s been injected poison for his training and he’s clearly suffering.

(She takes his hand and tries to comfort him. She thinks he was in too much pain to remember but some time later he tells her ‘thank you. For being beside me that day’)

-(tw: r*pe) Orochimaru leaves the creepy room and tells her to heal Sasuke. When she enters she sees him battered bruised and bloodied everywhere, looking in pain and lost, defeated, and it’s easy to understand what happened, and that it’s neither a first nor a last time, but when he sees her he puts up a tough face, cause he doesn’t know her and he doesn’t know if he can trust her as maybe she’s like Kabuto. He can’t imagine that she (like in my Team Taka headcanons part 2) was r*ped too by Orochimaru, that most of his ‘most interesting subjects’ have been at least once. He’s the most special which means Oro always comes to him ‘to toughen him up’ and ‘train’ him or ‘just’ to be repayed for making him stronger, and he’s constantly manipulated by him (that he’s not as strong as Itachi, that he needs him to be stronger and defeat his brother, and so on) and she knows this. She, too, is wary of him cause he might be so manipulated that he supports him and if she says something wrong he might tell Oro who might punish her and she is ok with him now, he leaves her be without molesting her, so she wants to keep the peace. So she’s discreet and heals him, not in the impersonal way Kabuto does though. Sasuke appreciates silently.

-(tw: random violence and blood) Inspired by this amazing fanart by @lisimba-art. Sasuke is trained to use his curse mark, but it’s hard to completely control his powers in that form, with those weird wings and everything. So it’s exhausting for his body but also for his mind, he can’t even think straight at some point, and he can’t control his emotions either, even though he tries hard cause he can’t be weak. Orochimaru makes him fight against other ‘test subjects’ with the curse mark or with other powers he developed on them, and Sasuke kills them…he hates killing, as there is only one person he wants to kill. He feels his body move and he can’t avoid it, he feels his nails slashing another human and can’t avoid it, it’s horrible, it’s like being trapped in a nightmare. 

Karin stumbles on the fighting ground and sees him. They know each other by then, she is worried about him, many in Oto bet on how long he will last, if he will last, when Orochimaru will ‘devour’ him, if the curse mark will ‘devour’ him first. When she sees him Orochimaru, who was observing him with Kabuto, left already. Sasuke is standing alone, a few corpses around him. She approaches him, talking slowly and calmly, to check his wounds. Nothing too serious, the most worrying thing is his mental/emotional state, cause he looks around without actually seeing things, he seems lost, troubled. 

It takes a few minutes for him to see the one who’s speaking to him, and when he does he’s not in his usual state anyway, Karin can tell not just from his chakra but from his body language. He’s standing so, so close to her, his shoulders are hunched and his eyes are empty, or somewhere else still. Or maybe they want to be somewhere else, she can’t tell. She should feel the heat radiating from his toned body -she dreamt of a moment like this- but the tanned version of what is normally pale is so cold..maybe he got so close because she’s warm instead.   

“Sasuke…bite me, you’ll get some chakra back and you won’t feel cold anymore,“ she tells him, but he just hovers over her, silent as a hawk watching its prey, but unlike it, just staring at her. 

“I killed all of them” Sasuke’s voice is low and raspy, but he’s back, she’s glad but also sad because he’s clearly upset by what happened and she knows why. Everyone does. 

- (tw: mentions of blood/violence/r*pe) This works both for Otogakure and for Hebi/Taka travelling. Night time, Karin hears some low pained sounds and she realizes it’s Sasuke having a nightmare, about either the above mentioned moment where he was forced to kill random people, or about some abuse Orochimaru inflicted on him, either directly or through someone else like Kabuto. He suddenly wakes up and realizes Karin was there. She tries comforting him by saying that she knows what he felt back then cause she was done similar things, and also Suigetsu and Kabuto and others, even though she doesn’t minimize his experience (as Oro’s favourite he took more than others of whom he soon got tired). It’s a hurt/comfort moment where they share intimate traumatic experiences and bond.

Bonus dark points if the experience Sasuke had a nightmare of, involved the aforementioned indirect abuse inflicted by Orochimaru but indirectly, through his current comrades Suigetsu and Juugo, ofc hypnotized/drugged/in some trance. Karin connects with the way he sometimes looks at them when he’s more tired and vulnerable, almost imperceptibly but she can see chakra shifts. They talk, he doesn’t say anything but the things he said in his sleep were obvious so she tries to make him admit and he does, as he’s honest. He doesn’t blame them, he knows they were under Orochimaru’s power just like he was during his curse mark mode when he wasn’t able to control it.

He thinks that Suigetsu and Juugo don’t even remember that experience but they do, exactly like he does with his killing random people in curse mode form. 

More bonus dark points if Karin assisted to the traumatic thing cause she was Oro’s assistant too, sort of.

Related to my Akatsuki AU that is mostly in my mind for now (how unexpected lol) and it’s Itachi/Sasuke centric but there’s also a lot of Sasuke interactions (like, with Deidara a lot, I just like the idea) and lots of Team Taka that exists in this context first as Orochimaru’s subordinates along with Kabuto, then as Sasuke’s comrades, cause while Itachi is a full fledged Akatsuki, like Orochimaru (he never left Akatsuki in my AU), Sasuke is not, and like Orochimaru has subordinates affiliates to the Akatsuki, Itachi has Sasuke. Unlike Akatsuki wearing cloaks with red clouds, Akatsuki ‘lesser’ members wear black cloaks like Sasuke and Team Taka wore in canon. They are given missions too, they’re younger and less experienced that the others and their interactions and dynamics are similar to canon ones.

Here are some more little shinigami/zanpakuto interactions that have been accumulating in my brain for a while:

For Ichigo, spending quality time with Tensa and Zangetsu usually happens after sunset up in his room, when his family members are less likely to walk in on them. The three of them settle into his bed together and just talk. The more time they spend around each other the more comfortable they get with each other, until he starts to look forward to the times he can spare to spend with them more and more.

Sode no Shirayuki likes to read to Rukia. She knows it relaxes her to be able to just sit back and listen. She lets Rukia lay her head in her lap, and slowly strokes her hair while she reads.

Zabimaru is a little more rowdy. Saru and Hebi tease Renji relentlessly, and have a habit of manifesting by themselves if they think he hasn’t been paying them enough attention. But in truth, they’re very tuned in to his emotions. They’re there to put their arms around him when he feels down, and to talk some sense into him when he’s frustrated.

Senbonzakura is another one that usually manifests himself without being called. Because if he doesn’t, Byakuya will forget to eat, to sleep, to take care of himself. Zakura has been known to take the pen out of Byakuya’s hand, throw it across the room, and climb into his lap to get the attention he wants. But he can get away with it. He’s the only one Byakuya can’t say no to, the only one he can’t lie to. And he knows it.

Hyorinmaru is quiet and deferential. Only comes around when Hitsugaya wants him around. But he’s, like, the most faithful, supportive, and gentle companion anyone could ever wish for. He’s very touchy about it though. It’s how he shows affection. He likes to cuddle. Not that Hitsugaya minds, of course.

Suzumebachi keeps Soi Fon company while she works, flitting around her head or sitting on her shoulder, playing with her hair. She sings in her ear and distracts her from all the things that weigh on her. She kisses her cheek and wipes her tears away when she cries, and then tells her (dirty) jokes until she smiles again.

Hisagi and Kazeshini, on the other hand, are a good example of a pair that aren’t exactly on the best of terms. Kazeshini represents everything Hisagi hates about himself. They don’t talk much. But they have their moments. Quiet hugs in the middle of the night when he can’t sleep, where he apologizes endlessly for keeping Kazeshini locked away so much of the time, for not being able to face the dark parts of himself, for being such a shitty partner. Kazeshini forgives him every time.

Yumichika and Ruri-iro Kujaku also aren’t the friendliest pair. Ruri’iro Kujaku takes every possible opportunity to remind Yumichika that he’ll never achieve his full potential if he keeps hiding his true powers from everyone. Yumichika keeps trying to pretend that it doesn’t bother him. But the truth is that Ruri’iro Kujaku just isn’t the zanpakuto that he wanted it to be, and both of them know it.

Ikkaku and Hozukimaru are tight, though. Like, laying all over each other, finishing each other’s sentences, playing games against each other, spontaneous hideously off-key duets together tight.

By the time Kenpachi finally met Nozarashi, he was really in a bad place, so their early interactions Aren’t Great. Nozarashi is very blunt, and speaks a lot of truths that Kenpachi knows, but doesn’t want to admit. But over time, they get used to each other. Being around Nozarashi is what keeps Kenpachi grounded. Nozarashi is always there exactly when he needs him, and that thought is reassuring.

Oomaeda and Gegetsuburi destress together, laze around and eat good food together. They don’t really talk much, but then again they don’t really need to. It’s enough just to be chilling in the same room for them, really.

Haineko lives up to her name by acting like a cat pretty much all the time, too. Sometimes she’s content to just lay her head on Rangiku’s shoulder and rest there for hours. Sometimes she’ll demand that Rangiku drop everything and pay attention to her, seemingly at random. She likes it when Rangiku takes her on walks outside, especially in the forest.

Kyoraku spoils the two halves of Katen Kyokotsu rotten. He’ll give them whatever they want whenever they want it, no questions asked. He knows that it’s better to just do what they say than to start an argument, especially since they’re more keyed into what he needs than he is, sometimes. He trusts them.

Kira is in a physical, emotional, and mental state of ‘complete and total wreck’ at pretty much any given time. His relationship with Wabisuke is tenuous a lot of the time. When things are really bad, being around Wabisuke can make it worse. But when things are good, he tries to make time for him as often as he can. Wabisuke always has his best interests at heart, of course, and does all he can to gently push Kira in the right direction, like encouraging him to reach out for help if he needs it.

Feel like it’s worth noting, that even as much thought as I’ve put into all this (oof), there are a few I can’t quite seem to pin down. Most notably Mayuri’s relationship to Ashisogi Jizo. Like, it’s canon that he experiments on his zanpakuto. ??? That’s not cool, Mayuri??? Also Genryusai and Ryujin Jakka (how do you forge a positive relationship with a huge column of incindiary fire) and Unohana and Minazuki (how do you change your whole personality the way she did and still maintain a good relationship with your sword through that? How do you force them into a completely new role that doesn’t suit them, out of the blue like that???)

In conclusion, everyone’s relationship with their zanpakuto spirit is unique, and I think it’s very fascinating. I think it lends a lot of insight into a character to imagine how they interact with their zanpakuto. Also it’s a pretty fun little creative experiment, not gonna lie!

Why I Think The Asukai’s Murdered Daisuke:

Well, alright, my title was “clickbait.” (read-bait?) I don’t believe they killed him themselves but I do believe they held a role in his actual death, while Kôzuke did not... (My theories seem to be getting more out of hand to cope with the MDCBK update withdraw.)

The guilt that the brothers (and Shibisaki by extension, along with others in the palace) hold when it comes to Daisuke is incredibly prevalent compared to anyone else. Perhaps it's simply a matter of them missing someone whom they thought of as a comrade and brother of their own『Ep • 39』but the way they talk about him is as if they themselves were responsible somehow. 

Though they sometimes make comments referring to Kôzuke as a “murderer,” I’m genuinely wondering if that is truly the case — that Yuuta had murdered Daisuke. 

Despite there being a possibility of his lying, he did straight-up say without any hesitation, (hesitation being a well-known trait of a lie) “I’m insulted. I did not kill him.”『Ep • 93』

Your welcome to disagree of course, after all, there do exist things such as “manipulative lies,” (Yuuta is referred to as a “madman,” and “dangerously unpredictable.”) but I’m rather inclined to believe him on this particular matter.

Kôzuke’s following line (again, in my own personal opinion) “I may have indirectly affected his death.” would be explained as Daisuke’s main reason for leaving the palace and being discharged was that he wouldn’t drop the issue of ‘Yuuta being Kôzuke,’ hence where his “affect” comes to play.

He would disobey orders and go after him anyway, but on that path, I don’t think it was Kôzuke who had killed or even had ordered his death in any manner. 

Daisuke was murdered by a third-party with some strings attached. However, because his aims in leaving were made clear by he himself, the assumption came about that he had died because of that goal.

It almost seems that no one in the story knows the full truth to anything, though they could know a great deal. (Like Shibisaki. He knows way too much to be comfortable.)

But then again, how could they? Daisuke died in a chaotic time when the Blood King’s army and the Hebi Gang were going at it full swing. No one had the time to cross-check facts and look into the whereabouts of a stray discharged soldier, especially since they were losing, and horribly so to the Hebi. (Though Shibisaki was concerned enough to go after him, only to find a dying Daisuke.)

But for some reason, this stopped the entire war. His death was viewed upon as some manner of “sacrifice,” as he “chose to die to save.”『Ep • 35』and they “were spared that defeat,” because of his “sacrifice.”

Anyway, going back to the Asukai’s, while it is not something I believe; (that the royal brothers were single-handedly responsible) I do think that they played a role in his murder, even if it was unintentional at best. But why on earth else would they feel as though they have to “pay penance” for some sin of theirs?

“...but at what cost? He was your closest ally, Shibisaki.”『Ep • 51』

“...spared at quite the cost.”『Ep • 25』

“...I spend every night cursing myself for Daisuke’s fate.”『Ep • 55』

By the way; this is totally unrelated, (or is it?) but I can’t seem to puzzle out Katsu’s line: “I never wanted to be a murderer.”『Ep • 89』He wasn’t talking about how he beat Yuuta to within an inch of his life, since although he was surprised to hear “Yuuta sends his regards,” it wasn’t a the-dead-came-back-to-life sort of surprise. 

Who could he have killed? Ozuru, the former king? Daisuke? Hm...

Well, those are just my random thoughts. Take it as you will.

KARIN | A SasuSaku FanFic (4/10)

(Karin - Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3)

When he opened Karin's room, he didn't expect the sight to leave him frozen by the door with his mouth slightly parted in awe. His heart ran wild as his mind suddenly flew to a far future that he didn't even know if he'll ever reach or deserve.

For he found Sakura in the middle of the room, gazing at a redhead baby in her arms as she hummed a random tune and swayed it to sleep. He never imagined how such a beautiful scenario was fitting for her to be in.

"Oh. Good afternoon, Sasuke-kun."

He recovered from his trance when Sakura glanced up and smiled at him, gently and almost sheepishly, taking his breath away. "Hn." He avoided her eyes as he dropped the bag he was holding to a table once he was inside the room. "I brought the remaining stuff of Karin from my house."

"Ah. Karin's still asleep, she became easily tired after welcoming Suigetsu earlier." Sakura giggled softly to avoid waking the little bundle in her arms. "Meanwhile, Suigetsu said he'll try to search for a temporarily place they could stay in while Karin and the baby are recuperating."

He tersely nodded, continuing to avert his eyes from her. After years of his absence, and a month of her deliberate avoidance in seeing him, Sasuke suddenly struggled to keep his cool around the pink-haired medic.

It didn't even help that she began pacing towards him, still humming a sweet melody that he couldn't put a name on, and then she stopped close enough for him to smell the cherry blossom scent of his hair alongside – what was that – milk? Ah, of course, she was holding a baby. His heart pounded against his ribcage at that fact once more.

"Sasuke-kun, this is Suika." She cradled the baby and looked at him. This time, he had no choice but to meet her dazzling gaze. "Do you want to hold her?"

Sasuke's eyes widened momentarily. "I...I only have one arm, Sakura."

She chuckled. "I know. But don't worry. Here, I'll help you." She was already extending her arms and positioning the baby on his only arm before he could even reply.

He, on the other hand, was stuck in staring at her face the whole time. It wasn't having a single arm that could compromise the baby's safety, but his lack of focus due to his awestruck admiration towards the medic nin. He didn’t expect her to be that knowledgeable and comfortable about anything related to babies at such a young age.

He felt a tug at the corner of his lips at the realization that his former teammate in their genin squad has come a long way. A part of him wished that he was there to witness her growth in the past, but a bigger part of him suddenly desired that from now on, he’d be there to see her reach the beautiful future that awaits her.

"There! Suika, this is Uncle Sasuke." She cooed.

Sasuke gripped the baby a little tighter when she let out a soft whimper. He finally turned his face to Suika and slowly imitated the way Sakura cradled her moments ago as she fixed the infant's bib in place.

He was well aware that Sakura was too close and that they were in such an intimate position, holding a baby and all. And Sasuke couldn't help but think about the possibility of him and Sakura being in the same scenario again one day. The only difference would be holding a black-haired (or pink-haired? He doesn't mind.) baby in between them by then. He was a little surprised with the direction his thoughts went so he softly cleared his throat, hoping to clear his mind as well.

"You're doing well, Sasuke-kun!" Sakura chuckled as she took a step back, taking in the sight of the great Sasuke Uchiha holding an infant in his arm. "You look so cute holding a bab—oh!" Her hand flew to cover her lips at the realization of what she had just said. A flush immediately appeared on her cheeks. "I mean, it's...uh...you—"

Tch. Annoying. "It's fine." He smirked. At least he's not the only one who was flustered.

"Hey, Sasuke!" They suddenly heard a voice by the door.

"Sssh! Suigetsu! Your wife and daughter's asleep!"

Sasuke stifled a laugh at the way Sakura hissed at his former comrade in Taka which reminded him of the usual way she scolded Naruto in Team 7. He still found it a bit odd that two parts of his past could still be there in his present.

The water ninja scratched the back of his head. "Ah. Sorry, Sakura-san."

"Do you want to hold your kid?"

"Where is—oh!" Suigetsu suddenly snickered when Sasuke turned to face him. "Never in my life did I imagine seeing you holding anything valuable other than a sword, let alone a baby!"

His former leader rolled his eyes.

"Here, let me get her."

Sasuke eyed Sakura for assistance but she simply gave him an encouraging nod, trusting him fully that he wouldn't be the cause of a newborn’s cracked head today.

When Suigetsu was already carrying his daughter, his gaze quickly softened as he flashed a toothy smile.

Sasuke was yet again surprised with the sight. He couldn’t deny that he was amazed with how his former comrades have changed for the better since the time he formed Team Hebi.

He looked on the ground. How could someone with an intense drive for killing people have such a look on his face? Is redemption really that possible? Does he even deserve the same thing?

“Really, though, Sasuke, thank you,” Suigetsu began, his eyes still fixed on his kid. “I believe it was orchestrated how we crossed paths last month. I...I really didn’t want to put Karin in danger in the Mist. They still needed to believe that I’m really pledging allegiance to my clan again despite my connection with Orochimaru for my new family needs a place to stay in. But if they saw Karin with me while we settle disputes, they might think we’re plotting something against the village.” He rolled his eyes and cackled. “Things like that were fun. But, I’m way past that. I and Karin are way past that. Thanks to you.”

Sasuke’s head snapped up, his lips parted as if to ask him what he was talking about.

“When we saw how willing you are to recommit to the Leaf, and help it from the outside, we thought it’s possible to do the same thing, to be like you in some ways. Now, we’re here. And you’ve kept my wife and child safe up to now. So, thanks Sasuke.”

Sasuke was still frozen in place as he stared back at Suigetsu. How could his former teammates be inspired with someone so messed up like him?

Sakura was smiling the whole time as he observed the two men. She could sense how uneasy Sasuke was, and she could only imagine the struggle in his thoughts right now. She sighed softly, realizing that he probably still didn’t believe that he’s now a changed man.

How could he not see it? She’s heard from Naruto and Kakashi how he was serving the village from afar and how he was helping people from other villages. It even made her think of him as a one-man police force that protects the village in the shadows. And that kind of man is far from the broken boy he used to be. She really wished he sees it now.

“I’m sure Karin is grateful as well. You know how much that woman was into you.” Suigetsu released another laugh. “I don’t even know how your patience survived her in the past month.”

“Oi! I can hear you!”

Three pairs of eyes darted towards the patient in the room.

“Oh. Speaking of the four-eyed devil,” Suigetsu muttered, feigning irritation.

Sakura found herself amused at the husband and wife. “Karin, glad you’re awake.” She then paced towards her and assisted her so she could be in a sitting position.

“Thanks, Sakura.” Karin slightly shifted in her bed, her entire body still sore from yesterday’s labor. “Well, truth be told, I didn’t bother Sasuke that much since I could take care of myself. I only sought for his help when I needed to go out and buy something since long walks are going to be the death of me, probably until now. So mind you, Shark-face, I don’t think I’ve stretched his patience. Right, Sasuke?” She grinned.

Sasuke heaved a sigh, and they weren’t sure if he wanted to say otherwise.

Suigetsu stifled a laugh at this. “Well, if circumstances were different I’m sure you would’ve been glad that you finally had an alone time with Sasuke.” He quirked an eyebrow at his wife. “You’ve always wanted that, right?”

“Oi! That’s not what—!”

“You’re both waking up and stressing out your kid.” Sasuke took it back, his teammates hadn’t changed at all.

“Sasuke-kun’s right, guys.” Sakura chuckled with her hands on her hips. “Now, now, I need you, men, to be out for a while because I’ll let Karin try to breastfeed Suika.”

Both men’s ears turned red.

“Oh, alright.” Suigetsu approached Karin who was still glaring at him. Snickering, he handed their baby gently in her arms. “I’ll be back. I might go out again to continue searching for a place.” He then kissed the top of his daughter’s head, paused in front of Karin’s face, and stuck his tongue out at her when she expected for a kiss.

Her reaction was worth it, and he was sure if she wasn’t holding their baby, she would’ve smacked him around the head.

When the water ninja was already by the door, holding it open for him, Sasuke turned to face Sakura and said, “I’ll just wait for you outside.”

And then all the girls were left inside the room.

Sakura remained staring at the door, slightly wondering as to why Sasuke would say that he would wait for her when in fact, Karin was the patient and the one he should be visiting. Then she realized the fact that weirdly, he didn’t even speak to the redhead at all.

I have an idea here...

Okay, so hear me out. It’s that kind of AU type thing that you see once in a blue moon where Snake is the nerd and Otacon is the one doing all the fighting, but I want to make a legit full on AU from it, not just character designs. I have a lot prepared as a base to build from already and I’ll be putting quite a bit here.

I don’t have a creative name for it, so I’ll just call it the Swap AU unless I think of a better name in the future. I’ll be addressing the Swap AU inhabitants with ‘Swap!’ before their names, and canon as just their names with no extras attached.

There’s a catch to this version of the Swap AU though. See, Swap!Otacon actually used to be behind the computer, and Swap!Snake used to do the fighting, just like normal. But, their own little situations led them to be swapped like they are now. Swap!Otacon snapped and was tired of hiding, and decided to fight alongside everyone else from then on, and managed to talk his way into being allowed to receive training somehow. He’s got some slyness to him in this AU, so he has many a method to be more likely to get what he wants later on if he doesn’t actually get what he aims for right away. Snake snapped as well, but his had caused so much destruction that he was removed from the battlefield despite the mission being a success, but was put behind the computer screen because his skills were too vital and important to just drop by discharging him.

Swap!Otacon’s personality changes more than Swap!Snake’s does. Swap!Otacon is a bit snarky at times, but his heart is still in the right place. He likes to test people’s boundaries and poke fun at them a bit to see how they fight back. He’ll still cry quite a bit on occasion, especially if Swap!Snake gives him a good enough beating for acting a fool. A common punishment he receives is being beaten a little bit, then forced to either carry very heavy things in each of his hands (NEVER both supporting one thing) and being forced to stand in either a corner or outside the room he was in, or Swap!Snake will make him get on his hands and knees and be used as a chair for however long Swap!Snake likes or until he gives out and collapses. If he does before Swap!Snake decides to get off of him, he’ll be forced to stay a piece of makeshift furniture like this for an additional hour, and Swap!Snake will even force himself to stay sitting down to enforce it (even if he really wants to get up, he doesn’t). As for Swap!Snake, his doesn’t change enough to be considered majorly different like Swap!Otacon, but the ways he does are enough to definitely be noteworthy. He’s a little more open with his feelings, though only slightly and this must be stressed. He’ll also tear up too sometimes, but he won’t outright sob like Otacon does most of the time unless something upsets him enough. Even when that happens, he still cries quietly and covers his face. He’s pretty quiet and standoffish still, but can still manage to be kind at the same time. Cold and quiet outside, but kindhearted and gentle inside. Depending on the situation, he can actually be shy, and blushes when praised by those he thinks positively of since he isn’t too used to positive interaction and praise yet. Swap!Snake can definitely still fight despite his changes from being put in front of a screen most of his time now, and even Swap!Otacon can’t keep up with him for too long despite being deemed the only one able to be on Swap!Snake’s level in combat.

Swap!Otacon is still as much of an otaku as actual Otacon is, and Swap!Snake eventually is talked into looking into some stuff with Swap!Otacon and developing an enjoyment of anime and manga of his own, since he has a lot of free time due to working quickly, and just browses the Web on his own personal laptop quite a bit. He was already a closet VOCALOID and UTAUloid fan and user since the music is much more unique to him than other types, and that kind of helped him quicker warm up to anime and manga. Swap!Snake also has a secret past time of drawing aside from making UTAU covers under the alias YaneHebi (a combination of the words “yandere”, the archetype of unhealthy love, and “hebi”, meaning “snake”). Swap!Otacon eventually finds out after Swap!Snake reveals it through an UTAU cover of the song 404: Virtual Image which depicted his own UTAUloid of the same name as his artist alias and himself later on in the song. Yane Hebi, Swap!Snake’s UTAU, is somewhat of a self insert for him aside from the UTAU being depicted as a much more cheery character, and living up to his yandere archetype with no problems. He puts his own inner thoughts and deep, dark desires into this character. Swap!Otacon will sometimes talk him into joining in to watch some anime together or showing each other songs, but Swap!Snake prefers to keep to himself involving these hobbies for the most part. Swap!Snake has a LOT more going on deep down than Swap!Otacon does, and he can get extremely deep and philosophical in talks while simultaneously venting out pains without even noticing until it’s pointed out to him. He has complicated views on love, and knows what he wants, but doesn’t want to risk ruining anything just going for it and revealing his feelings to who he loves. I headcanon Snake as bisexual usually, but this Swap!Snake is gay, just had girlfriends in the past to try and substitute for what he thought he could never have. He’s also a virgin unlike actual Snake, because he wants to save himself for the one he truly loves the most and wants it to be special and genuine.

These two have a very deep and special friendship just like the actual Snake and Otacon do. Swap!Otacon might decide to shield and protect Swap!Snake all the time, but both know full well that both can hold their own in a fight. Swap!Snake isn’t so cruel to Swap!Otacon as often as it might seem if you just consider his punishments, and actually thinks extremely high of Swap!Otacon, even seeming close to idolizing him sometimes. If Swap!Otacon is gone somewhere for a day or more, Swap!Snake will sometimes sit in his chairs at desks or something and smile as he just thinks about their friendship. He does subtle little gestures of kindness for Swap!Otacon, like making him little gifts, or drawing something for him, and Swap!Otacon always notices and thanks him graciously the soonest chance he can get. Swap!Otacon finds the blush Swap!Snake gets and the gentle smile on his face beyond adorable. Swap!Snake actually is head over heels for Swap!Otacon, but Swap!Otacon never really notices this, or the sometimes questionable things he does to try and express it without outright telling Swap!Otacon how he feels. Ominous positivity at any random time with no context is a common gesture of affection from Swap!Snakes part too, which sometimes can really make Swap!Otacon concerned because of how stalker-ish Swap!Snake seems sometimes with what is said. Things like ‘remember to keep your head up and stay strong through the bad times, I’ll always be watching you so do your best’ usually elicit a concerned reaction.

I want to draw things for this AU and build even further on it, but I’ll stop on the text based building for now since this is LONG already...

Ability/Haze Snakes and the Children with Abilities .

Disclaimer: Now I only have had one Haze Snake and he stole an ability from an Ability Snake and I haven’t exactly made too many headcanons on that but I talked with my friends who first made the Haze Snakes that I am referring to so yeah.

Note: By Ability Snakes I mean Snakes from the Heat Haze with abilities and by Haze Snakes I mean Snakes from the Heat Haze that either do not have abilities or can steal abilities. In all my other headcanon/lore posts I will use Haze Snakes to mean both kinds unless otherwise noted!

Snakes can have children as I have mentioned in a previous post. But now let’s talk about the children with abilities from these pregnancies.

Normally Haze Snakes that mate together tend to have children with abilities that related are to them. For example, The Snake of Creating Eyes (Cosmia) ended up having a daughter, The Snake of Animating Eyes (Yukari). The abilities are related in a way. (One can create things from nothing and one can make inanimate objects animated, in a way ‘creating life’. (Except Cosmia and Yukari should be considered an exception since Cosmia actually created her pregnancy with her own ability.)

When an Ability Snake has a child with a human and they end up having a snake with an ability it normally is just based off of their own ability or similar in nature to it. For example, The Snake of Clearing Eyes (Saeru) had a child with a random human, giving birth to The Snake of Clarity Eyes (Clarithe). While Saeru can ‘clear’ other abilities, Clarithe just gives people a ‘clear mind’. So not fully based on her Father’s ability but similar.

Now let’s talk about the main thing I wanted to talk about. Some of the more... Special Snake Children. Now, when Haze and Ability Snakes mate together, they usually can either have a snake that has an ability, can steal abilities or do both. Normally those abilities are based on one of their parent’s personalities. Let me give a few examples with some fan kids.

Kathe and Aiden have a kid, named Abigail, now Kathe’s ability is The Snake of Satisfaction Eyes, basically the ability to make one satisfied with their life. While Aiden is a Haze Snake who stole his eye ability; Controlling Eyes (The ability to control one’s actions for a short amount of time.) Abigail has the ability Shielding Eyes; likely formed from her two parent’s abilities. In a sense it’s like controlling the ability to feel safe and satisfied.

Now let’s move onto Aiden and Ubau/Hitomi. Aiden and Hitomi have two kids. Emica and Arata. Both of them have an ability. Now Ubau/Hitomi is The Snake of Captivating Eyes (Know officially in English as Snake of Drawing Eyes but me and my friends like Captivating more). Her kids have the ability of Parroting Eyes/Ōmu Hebi (The ability to copy a target’s voice perfectly) and Breaking Eyes/Kowasu Hebi (The ability to break down and identify a target’s weakness.) respectfully. Now Emica’s ability of Parroting Eyes like stems from her ability to steal eye abilities like her father/his stolen ability Controlling Eyes and her mother’s ability to capture attention but it’s not fully confirmed where it came from. Now Arata’s ability of Broken Eyes stems from his Father’s need/want to break people down. Unlike his sister, he cannot steal eye abilities and only has the one he was born with. Marking him as basically an Ability Snake and not a hybrid like her.

Now the last dumb thing I do want to touch on, on the topic of fan kids of snakes is the Ability Snake kids.

First up we’ll have Sei/Conceiving and Kathe. Now this is a special case as their child doesn’t seem to have a true ability. Amai is a genderfluid child who only seems to possess writing skills of their father; which often turns out to be based on real facts/events so maybe that’s their ability.

Next up is Kaitou/Stealing and Ubau/Hitomi. So far they have three kids. Hiroki, Iwao and Aika. Hiroki has the ability of Obsessive Eyes/Semeiru Hebi: The ability to make one obsessed with whatever the user is thinking about at the current moment. It is thought to be based off on Father’s ability to steal thoughts and his mother’s ability to steal attention. But there might be a darker meaning behind it... Meaning thanks to Kaitou’s obsessive behaviours he may have unknowingly affected his own children’s abilities as you will see. Iwao has the ability of Consuming Eyes/Hikitsugu Hebi: The ability to drive one insane with basically intrusive thoughts that consume oneself. Thought to be a result of her Father’s and Mother’s abilities. But could also be because of Kaitou’s obsessive behaviours. Aika has the ability of Capturing Eyes/Toraeru Hebi: The ability to capture a person and make them come towards you. Thought to be based off of her Mother’s ability but could also be because of Kaitou’s obsessive behaviours.
