Submitted Prompts #138
Billy Batson and Ellie become best friends. However, due to insufficient ectoplasm in the area, Ellie is unable to stabilize herself and is too late to go flying back to Danny like she usually does.
Hermes speaks in Billy's mind, to give Ellie his blessing. The magic from Hermes will help her keep stabilized for the rest of her life.
But. This blessing can only be applied to those who are deemed champions by the gods, separate from the champion that he is as Shazam/Captain Marvel. If she accepts this, Hermes will also be present in her mind. And, she will have to do Hermes' bidding when the time calls for it.
Ellie, who heard the explanation, accepts it. She'll deal with the consequences later.

Hermes: Can we stay with you tonight?
Apollo: Both of you? What happened?
Dionysus: "Someone" was playing with a ouija board and cursed our place.
Hermes: Ares wasn't any help. He doesn't know how to banish spirits so he's just throwing salt at them yelling "does this look like a hotel to you?!"

Question for those that have experience with death deities and those who protect the dead
🥀🐺💀🗝️🥀
So, I’ve been doing some reading about Gods of the Dead - Pluto/Hades/Nyja, etc.
I have a question for anyone who feel inspired to answer in either a comment reply or a reblog.
In many descriptions it is written that they are a “god of the underworld and guardian of souls when they leave the body.”
Do you think this could also be true for those who do soul travel or astral projection? Would the god of the dead also protect those who practice traveling?
And if not him, who? Would anyone be the watcher of this practice? Another psychopomp?
I’m looking for personal gnosis and historical/folkloric evidence of something like this. Thank you ♥️

Summary:
Percy Jackson and Hermes must work together to help Apollo regain his title as a Protector of Youth.
There are a few problems that will make their journey difficult.
The biggest one being that they don't know how Apollo lost his title, and what needs to be done to get it back. And there's the matter of Percy being a new god and the rising romantic tension between the two gods and Percy, but that's not the important bit.

Oh Luke who was imprisoned for eternity in the darkest corners of the Underworld for his sin and Nico who was made an immortal psychopomp as Hades’ last resort to save his son.
Nico can travel wherever he wants so he’s able to pay Luke a visit every couple of years easily. He tells him about how each of their (Nico and Luke’s, whoever they both know of) friends is doing, if they’ve had kids or died, if Thalia has decided to retire…
And about Hermes, too, because Nico works with him sometimes and though Luke winced at the mention of his name, he still wanted to remember his father.
Hades is aware Nico would come and patch up Luke’s soul once in a while but he didn’t say anything about it.

Think I threw my therapist for a slight loop when she asked what I do when I think I'm dead and I told her that I look around for Hermes

May I offer you some Hermes studies ? The little birdie had been drawn by a certain Adolf Hiremy-Hirschl, and I couldn't help but do that pose as well. He doesn't have wings but that's okay, his hat is very recognisable.
Happy New Year !
The beautiful original sketch "Hermes Psychopomps" by Adolf Hiremy-Hirschl.
