Pectoral Collar of Pinedjem I (1070-1032 BC) 21st Dynasty Pinedjem I (𓇋𓏠𓈖𓌸𓅮𓇛𓏭) “p3-nḏm=y mrı͗ ı͗mn” ‘Panedjemy, Beloved of Amun” was the High Priest 𓍛𓊹 “ẖm-nṯr” of Amun at Thebes 𓌀𓏏𓈈𓊖 “w3s.t” in Ancient Egypt from 1070 to 1032 BC and the de facto ruler 𓋾𓏘𓄿𓀭 “ḥqA” of the south of the country from 1054 BC. He was the son of the High Priest Piankh. However, many Egyptologists today believe that the succession in the Amun priesthood actually ran from Piankh to Herihor to Pinedjem I (Wikipedia). Who or What is the Ark of the Covenant?
Eli Kittim
The Ark of the Covenant was a gold-plated wooden chest that housed the two tablets of the covenant (Heb. 9:4). Jewish folklore holds that the ark of the covenant disappeared sometime around 586 B.C. when the Babylonian empire destroyed the temple in Jerusalem. Throughout the centuries, many writers, novelists, ufologists, and religious authors have invented two kinds of wild and adventurous stories about the ark of the covenant. They either talk about fearless treasure-hunters, archaeologists, and paleographers who went hunting for the Lost Ark of the Covenant, or about ancient alien civilizations that made contact with humans in prehistoric times. This has led some authors to the startling conclusion that the ark of the covenant may have been part of a highly advanced ancient-alien technology. But the Biblical data do not support such outrageous and outlandish conclusions.
From a Biblical standpoint, both the “ark of the covenant” and “Noah’s Ark” are symbols that represent salvation in the death of the Messiah. Isaiah 53:5 reads thusly:
he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;

upon him was the chastisement that
brought us peace, and with his wounds we
are healed.
We can also call it the covenant of salvation based on the atoning death of Christ (Heb. 9:17). If you pay close attention to the biblical symbols and details, you’ll notice that both Noah’s ark and the ark of the covenant represent some type of casket, which signifies the atoning death of the Messiah (that saves humanity). Christ’s covenant is based on his death. Without Christ’s death there is no salvation. That’s what ultimately redeems humanity from death and hell, and allows for resurrection and glorification to occur. Christ, then, is the ark of the covenant, also represented by Noah’s ark (which saves a few faithful humans who believe in God). The caskets are of different sizes. The smaller casket (the ark of the covenant) could only carry one person (the Messiah), whereas the larger one (Noah’s Ark) can accommodate all of humanity (symbolizing those who are baptized into Christ’s death). According to the Book “After the Flood,” by Bill Cooper, “The Hebrew word for ark, tebah, may be related to the Egyptian word db't, = ‘coffin.’ “ Romans 6:3 declares:
Do you not know that all of us who have
been baptized into Christ Jesus were
baptized into his death?
In other words, it’s not Christ’s incarnation but rather his death that saves humanity. All those who follow him and are baptized into his death are saved!
How is Christ the “ark of the covenant”? Christ is the Word of God (Jn 1:1), the Logos, or the Law of God (the Torah)! That’s why the ark of the covenant doesn’t dwell on earth but in heaven. Rev 11:19 reads:
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened,
and the ark of his covenant was seen within
his temple. There were flashes of lightning,
rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake,
and heavy hail.
Who dwells within God’s throne-room, within God’s temple, and is represented by the ark of the covenant? Answer: Jesus Christ! A similar scenario takes place in Revelation 21:2-3:
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her
husband. And I heard a loud voice from the
throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of
God is with man. He will dwell with them,
and they will be his people, and God himself
will be with them as their God.’
Notice that the terms “God” and “the dwelling place of God” are used interchangeably. In other words, the metaphors of the dwelling place, the tent of meeting (ἡ σκηνὴ τοῦ θεοῦ; i.e. the tabernacle), the temple and its sacrificial system, as well as the ark of the covenant, all represent God and signify the blood of the covenant or the blood of the lamb (1 Pet. 1:19; Rev. 7:14; 12:11)! Christ is not only the mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), but also the high priest who offers up his own life for the salvation of humanity (Heb. 7:17). According to Acts 4:12, there is “no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved”: not Moses, or Muhammad, or Buddha, or Krishna, or Confucius, or Allah, or Yahweh. According to Philippians 2:10-11:
at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father.
Therefore, he who is within the throne-room of God, and “among the people,” is none other than the Second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, who “will dwell with them” forevermore (Rev. 21:3). It’s a throwback to Leviticus, which prophesied the incarnation of God, but which the Jews misunderstood and misinterpreted. Leviticus 26:12:
I will be ever present in your midst: I will be
your God, and you shall be My people.
Compare Revelation 21.3:
He will dwell with them, and they will be his
people, and God himself will be with them
as their God.

#DailyDevotion Jesus Is Better Than Moses

#DailyDevotion Jesus Is Better Than Moses Heb. 3 And so, fellow Christians --- you're holy, and heaven called you as it called us — look at Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest Whom we confess, 2being faithful to Him Who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in God's whole house. 3He deserves greater glory than Moses, as the builder of a house is honored more than the house. 4Every house is built by someone, but He Who built everything is God. 5Now, Moses was faithful in God's household as a servant who was to testify of what would be said later, 6but Christ was faithful as the Son in charge of God's household. We are His household if to the end we continue unshaken in our courage and in the hope of which we boast. The author moves from how Jesus is greater than angels to Jesus is greater than Moses. Our translation today is trying to make a dynamic equivalence to explain the first verse but I think a literal translation is actually more helpful. We are "holy brothers." We are participants, fellowshipers of a holy calling. We are made holy by our calling. We know we are called because Jesus baptized us with His name.We are called and made holy first by Jesus' calling through the Holy Spirit. Consider the Apostles and all the disciples. They were all called first, made holy and then started conducting themselves in holy ways. Since this is our status, we should look at Jesus, "the Apostle and High Priest Whom we confess." Jesus is the Apostle because He is the One the Father has sent to redeem us. Apostle means sent one. Jesus prays to the Father in John 17, "18As You sent Me into the world, I sent them into the world." We confess Jesus as being sent by the Father. We confess Jesus is our High Priest. Hebrews will elaborate more on Jesus being our High Priest. Sufficient to say, Jesus offered up His own blood to cleanse us from sins and intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is faithful to the Father who appointed Him "just as Moses was faithful in God's whole house." So now we begin with the comparison of how Jesus is better than Moses. Jesus is better than Moses because Moses only looked after the house as a servant and is part of the house. Jesus built the house. God built the house and Jesus is God. Jesus says in John 14, ". . .because I go to prepare a place for you. 3And when I have gone and prepared a place for you, I'll come again and take you home with Me so you'll be where I am. You know the way to the place where I'm going." Now Moses testified as to what was to come. Jesus was faithful in fulfilling all the promises of God. Moses was faithful as a servant. Jesus is "faithful as the Son in charge of God's household." Now house or household is from oikos which also means family. We are God's sons in Christ Jesus. We are His family. Jesus is in charge of us. We are His brothers, children and citizens. We are this if we remain faithful in this hope of which we boast. This hope that Jesus has us, called us, made us holy is our hope and this hope gives us courage to face the day and all obstacles in life. We know this life and everything in it is passing away. Having a sure and certain hope in Jesus and the future He has for us in the world to come gives us the fortitude to get through everything. Heavenly Father, continually give us Your Holy Spirit that we may be faithful to Your Son Jesus Christ and live in the hope He gives us as His household. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. O Hierofante
Tumblr media

The Mummy: The Tomb Robbers' Secret - By Torchlight (on Wattpad) https://www.wattpad.com/1014783089-the-mummy-the-tomb-robbers%27-secret-by-torchlight?utm_source=web&utm_medium=tumblr&utm_content=share_reading&wp_uname=martykate1&wp_originator=AHHLLPkBFy6Q1W66xcR1UJHu5PMEHmPCA%2Br23j1It7HB1kpqWcxcC0Ew4JN2EqN7Swuo19G1FFJ7Xyxca2tSlAeTAxcV532oNM2U2r4uDDrlFJ6OQYomQla8ZiUbx%2FZa For many years rumors have persisted that there are caches of gold, precious stones, and unguents that tomb robbers had dropped or hidden in their haste to escape the guards that watched over the Valley of the Kings. Roma Wilkes-Emberly thinks her father believes these rumors are true and is determined to find them. Ardeth-Bey is the son of a sheikh of a Bedouin tribe who are descended from the Med-Jai who guarded the Valley of the Kings. He is friends with Wilkes-Emberly and his daughter Roma. Roma does not like Ardeth Bey, though she grew up with him, she finds him overconfident and arrogant. The fact that he is handsome only makes it worse. Wilkes-Emberly has asked Ardeth for his help. He wishes him to accompany his daughter through the desert on a secret errand. Neither Ardeth nor Roma is eager to do this, but her father is both evasive and persistent. Ardeth agrees, but on the condition that they will catch the boat at Minya for the remainder of the journey to Cairo. Roma knows that something is wrong and she suspects that they will be transporting something valuable and will be a target for thieves--or worse. I am proud to announce that based on my writing of this story I have received a commission from an internet jewelry site to write an Egyptian/Atlantis-themed story about Howard Carter and his discovery of the "Atlantis Ring". And I am being paid well for it--eat your hearts out!!!! This story has been appearing in Top Picks! Also has been appearing in "We'll Think You Enjoy"

#DailyDevotion Jesus Is Our High Priest Like Melchizedek
Tumblr media
#DailyDevotion Jesus Is Our High Priest Like Melchizedek Psalm 110 3Your people willingly offer themselves when You call up Your army. From the womb of the dawn like dew, Your youth will come to You in beautiful, holy garments. Jesus, who is the Messiah, calls up His army and His people willingly offer themselves up. We offer ourselves up willingly because the Spirit has renewed and freed our wills and conformed them to the will of Father. To oppose the will of the Father and reject Jesus as our King is to be enslaved to sin and the will of the devil. But when Jesus calls us up, we appear before Him in His righteousness, which is the beautiful, holy garments. 4The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind: "You are a Priest forever like Melchizedek.” Melchizedek was the king of Salem. We know Abraham offered up to Him a tenth of the plunder when he and the other kings rescued their people from the other kings which plundered them. Salem would later become Jerusalem. Some scholars have posited the king of Salem, aka Jerusalem, had a priesthood that passed down to whoever was king of the city. David, when he conquered the city, also took over the priesthood of Melchizedek, much like the Roman emperor was high priest of the Roman empire. Hebrews comments on Jesus fulfilling this word, 5:5So Christ didn't take the glory of being a high priest, but it was given to Him by Him Who said: You are My Son, today I have begotten You. 6And so He said in another place: “You are like Melchizedek, a priest forever." Again he says, “8Although Jesus is the Son, He learned from what He suffered what it means to obey. 9And when He was finished, He became One Who gives everlasting salvation to all who obey Him, 10proclaimed by God a high priest like Melchizedek.” Jesus has become our high priest, not in the Levitical priesthood, who offered up the blood of bulls and goats, but according to the order of Melchizedek, He offers Himself up for us on the altar of the cross. Hebrews further comments in chapter 7, “11Levi's descendants were the priests; on this basis the people got the Law. Now, if the priests who descended from Levi could have given us something perfect, why did another priest still need to come who is like Melchizedek and said to be different from Aaron?” Then he reasons, “15That point is much clearer still when we see a different priest coming like Melchizedek, 16not appointed according to a Law that says he must be someone's descendant but by the power of a life that can't be destroyed. 17We are assured: “You are like Melchizedek a priest forever.” 18The earlier rule is canceled because it is weak and can't help us.” Then he concludes, “230nce many were made priests because death didn't let them continue as priests. 24But because Jesus lives forever, He will always be the Priest. 25And so He can forever save those who come to God by Him, because He always lives to pray for them.” So Jesus has been made our high priest with an oath from the Father. As our great high priest, He has offered up the perfect sacrifice, Himself. He is able to save us, unlike the Levitical priesthood which was a shadow of things to come. Jesus is the concrete reality. 5At your right the Lord will smash kings when He's angry. 6He will pass judgment on the nations and fill valleys with dead bodies; He will smash the rulers over the wide earth. 7Along the way, He will drink from a brook; therefore He will hold His head high. Here I will just refer you to the book of Revelation, especially the 19th chapter. Jesus is coming again to judge the world and execute justice. It will be a great day for His disciples but for all the nations who rejected His rule, they shall receive His vengeance upon them. Heavenly Father, grant that we may always look to Jesus as our high priest through whom we have access to Your throne-room of grace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

Oooh I just remembered another old casteship au I have!
Atem gets abandoned in the desert as a child by Akhnadin, who wants a bigger chance at attaining the throne. He gets found by a bunch of bandits who save him but end up selling him as a slave to an evil magician who lives in the middle of nowhere. Atem up grows up under his authority, completely forgetting his old identity. He isn't treated well, and there is no escape, so he tries to come up with a plan. Atem starts to secretly learn magic from the spellcaster and finds that he's quite good at it if not a little unreigned. The spellcaster ends up violently confronting him about it when he finds out, during which Atem's magic erupts in his state of panic, accidentally killing his master.
After a few moments of silence, Atem realises that he's being watched, and he turns to see a young Bakura curiously observing him in the middle of robbing the house. The two of them end up leaving together, and they become fast friends. Bakura has the experience surviving that Atem needs, and Atem has raw untamed magic, which Bakura really likes. They grow up together, Bakura becoming the King of Thieves, a bandit unrivalled by all, and Atem becoming the King of Games, a magical conman who wins every game he's presented with. The two of them share a deep bond, and they deeply care for each other. Unfortunately, they have no idea how to do romance while they're so busy planning their vengeance on the throne. And they're both hella awkward about emotions to begin with XD
