I watched Effie Gray and it was nice but I just wanted more scenes with Effie and Millais. Their dynamic is quite ( and Tom is just so beautiful with that curls you know😄)

Heres some little previews of a new pitch I'm working on with my agent- I hope it gets picked up as I'm pleased with the plot we've developed! It's gonna be a little queer romance/drama set (vaguely, as my agent insists it will bring in more readers haha) against backdrop of C18th France, talking about pamphlet censorship that existed back then (obvs drawing somewhat from my own recent experiences with book censorship)

Update on Pawn Man: Not only did he fake the photo album, he is now faking an award.
Wow, another update on this. How delightful.
For those unaware, back in September the Tiktoker Pawn Man claimed he had previously unseen photos of the Rape of Nanjing. He showed an old photo album filled with photos (as one might expect). However, many of these photos were either from the wrong time, wrong place, and I would say most of them have been seen by history before (as they can be found on many online image sharing services and in other similar books from the time. The book was not a fake book, it was from the 40s, the photos were real photos, but it was not what Pawn Man was claiming it was. And given the subject matter of what he was claiming it to be, a misrepresentation like this is pretty serious stuff.
Many historians both online and off have debunked him. And given how he never seemed to bother to do simple fact checking and only dug his heels further in the face of criticism I thought things were over after he moved on. There was not really any other place he could go with this.
I was wrong.
12 hours ago at the time of writing Pawn Man posted a video claiming the Chinese goverment was so pleased with his discovery they gave him the HIGHEST HONOR they could give him (usually only given to other heads of state). This honor? This.
Tumblr media
He is claiming this urn, yes this is an urn, is the highest award he could get.
First off, this urn is not an award.
There could be a few awards he MIGHT be able to get given his status as a non-citizen of China. I will post screenshots of them here:
Tumblr media
The most recent one of these was given out in 2021 to an anthropologist from Tahiti
Tumblr media
The most recent one of these was just given out in October of this year but to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam
I do not think Pawn Man is either of these people
And to make this case even worse for himself, the urn he is calling a teapot is actually on Amazon for you to buy RIGHT NOW!
Tumblr media
And for those claiming this is a REAL Ming Dynasty urn he got and the thing on amazon is a reproduction, its not.
Here are some examples of real Ming urns/vases:
Tumblr media
Here is another
Tumblr media
And here is one with a bird on it
Tumblr media
While Pawn Man did at one point have some plausible deniability before, its gone now. He is trying to lie to us. He managed to do that with a lot of other people. But I and my other museum world friends are not buying it. And the fact somebody is riding off of the back of one of the worst human rights abuses in history to do this for CLOUT is comical at best, and beyond disturbing at worst.
He did not do anything for history, he is one of the grifters who muddy the waters with fake claims and crying “LIES AND SLANDER” at the real experts.
And funny thing is, if these were real, why is there not more news about this MAJOR historical find?
Something does not add up and never has for a long time.

A murder mystery film set in a medieval village. After an outbreak of plague, the villagers make the decision to shut their borders so as to protect the disease from spreading (see the real life case of the village of Eyam). As the disease decimates the population, however, some bodies start showing up that very obviously were not killed by plague.
Since nobody has been in or out since the outbreak began, the killer has to be somebody in the local community.
The village constable (who is essentially just Some Guy, because being a medieval constable was a bit like getting jury duty, if jury duty gave you the power to arrest people) struggles to investigate the crime without exposing himself to the disease, and to maintain order as the plague-stricken villagers begin to turn on each other.
The killer strikes repeatedly, seemingly taking advantage of the empty streets and forced isolation to strike without witnesses. As with any other murder mystery, the audience is given exactly the same information to solve the crime as the detective.
Except, that is, whenever another character is killed, at which point we cut to the present day where said character's remains are being carefully examined by a team of modern archaeologists and historians who are also trying to figure out why so many of the people in this plague-pit died from blunt force trauma.
The archaeologists and historians, btw, are real experts who haven't been allowed to read the script. The filmmakers just give them a model of the victim's remains, along with some artefacts, and they have to treat it like a real case and give their real opinion on how they think this person died.
We then cut back to the past, where the constable is trying to do the same thing. Unlike the archaeologists, he doesn't have the advantage of modern tech and medical knowledge to examine the body, but he does have a more complete crime scene (since certain clues obviously wouldn't survive to be dug up in the modern day) and personal knowledge from having probably known the victim.
The audience then gets a more complete picture than either group, and an insight into both the strengths and limits of modern archaeology, explaining what we can and can't learn from studying a person's remains.
At the end of the film, after the killer is revealed and the main plot is resolved, we then get to see the archaeologists get shown the actual scenes where their 'victims' were killed, so they can see how well their conclusions match up with what 'really' happened.

Lions Gate
Hi.It's a short one,a poem, more as song i conceived and i wrote with intuition. Leave good comments. if you're about to reblog it give the creator credits:
I want to unravell oddities.
I walk through the Gate of Lions and i arrive to a strange and wondrous land.
We belong to this Adventure.
Mystery Girl, under your guidance i learn how to awake my power and how to use it.You teach me how to fight, how to wisely move.
Mystery Girl smile to me.These weapons we’ll use:
Sword, lance, shield, calibre and arrows. And the spellcasting too.
We walk through these fields. While we’re entering the haunted, old castle we sense their angry, belligerent glares on us.But we’re not afraid to!We’re coming through ancient ruins seeking for answers.
Oh great girl, you smile to me,you trust me.
We have faith to each other. And we’ll make it to find the truth and Stay alive.

If you think about it, Pargalı belongs to Tanzimat Era of Ottoman Empire more than he belongs to the Magnificent Era. He embraces Western values, he can speak multiple languages, he sees himself more important than the actual sultan, he is a son in law to the dynasty, he knows how to play the politics. I can see him with a fez and the new uniforms. He would be perfect.
