NALUJUK NIGHT
Krampus gets all the attention for terrorizing kids during the holidays, but have you heard of the Nalujuk? Masked, dressed in animal furs, and carrying spears, these terrifying characters appear out of the night to give gifts to the good kids, while also chasing and beating the bad kids. This beautiful and stunning mini-doc is a look into this little known fascinating cultural tradition of the Inuit communities. This felt like part horror movie, part docu-mystery series ala In Search Of, which I really love.

What's your favorite holiday tradition to do?
My Dad still tells myself and my brother a story every Christmas Eve called “Uncle Niall’s Story” which is basically the story of how my great uncle, my two great aunts and my grandmother used to spend their Christmas Eves and Christmas days in 1930’s Ireland.
It was always so whimsical when we were kids, but he still goes about the tradition now we’re in our mid twenties which is super sweet. We sit with wine, play some music, and he’ll tell us the story. We always like to interject now we’re adults, and the story gets lengthier with every year.
