I have archon war rex lapis on the mind tonight so here’s something

Fertility deity darling running to beg for his protecting during the war. It was honestly a stupid idea. Rex Lapis want exactly known to be the kindest individual to people outside of his circle, after all. And really, it’s a miracle that darling was able to gain an audience with him, she had expected to be turned away, laughed at for even attempting any of this. But, for whatever reason, she had actually managed to win his approval and protection.

The reasoning as to why the cruel and unfeeling Rex Lapis took darling under his protection is unknown to all but him. The moment he saw the soft, plump body of his little fertility darling, he knew that he had to have her for himself. Her beautiful little body was just the spitting image of perfection and potential motherhood. Her sudden appearance in his life gave him a new fighting spirit. Winning his seat and then celebrating by pumping his darling full of his seed so he could admire her beautiful body full with his child was all he could think about for a long while.

fem + chubby reader; it's not super nsfw but there are allusions to breeding and pregnancy. it's the holy trifecta of seakicker sin... chubby reader, breeding, and pregnancy. delicious. also warnings for a pretty obvious power imbalance between reader and zhongli as well as self-deprecation on reader's part.

the idea of a cold and unapproachable morax taking a sweet and nearly impossibly naive goddess reader under his wing is so delicious. he's not sure whether you approached him out of bravery or naiveite, but listening to you talk and beg for his assistance has caused him to believe it's the latter— if your adorable stuttering and inability to look him in the eye as you pleaded for his protection weren't dead giveaways, then your humble confession that you're not much for fighting certainly was. it was almost cute how easily you demeaned yourself in his presence... if it were anyone else, he would assume it's their attempt at flattery and buttering him up, but with you? it's honestly genuine.

when you tearfully confess that you've never fought even a day in your life because you've always stood for peace, prosperity, and love and that you've not once been put in the position to fight, he believes you. it's not your way of pandering to his strength and flattering him, it's a genuine confession of your own weakness that sort of... stirs a sense of pity in him. sweet and weak as you are, it's a rarity that someone comes to him and just honestly shares their desires, fears, feelings, and worries without the underhanded goal of manipulating him into acting a certain way. granted, rex lapis has always been much smarter than the rest of them and he can see the manipulation coming from a mile away, hence his ability to see that you're really being genuine.

how adorable. how sweet. how... innocent.

being granted an audience with rex lapis is no easy task— he's as busy as they come, always up to his eyes in work as preparations for the archon war ramp up. he'll turn those just looking for a bit of mora or a pardon for past crimes away with a shake of his head and a slight scowl; such incidents are well known amongst all the people of liyue and other gods alike. being a lower deity yourself whose influence is restricted to just a single region of liyue rather than all of liyue like him, you'd be lying if you were to say you were expecting him to grant you the opportunity to speak with him— surely he has better things to do than listen to the whinings of a nobody.

after your display of humility and pure anxiety over the days that are sure to come, there was but a moment before rex lapis rose from his throne, descended the shiny golden stairs to meet you, and kneeled down to your position on the floor to tilt your chin up with his fingers. following your desperate plea for his protection, you kneeled and looked down at the floor below amidst your shame and humiliation for asking such a thing of the rex lapis— some could consider it a gesture of respect, as you feel you're undeserving of looking him in the eye, some could consider it a display of submission and resignation before a god leagues and leagues more powerful than yourself, and some could consider it an act of cowardice, too afraid to see the look on his face in response to your request. would he laugh? would he shake his head in a silent request to leave his presence immediately? would he smirk at the pathetic display before him?

his fingers under your chin force you to look him in the eye once more, and there's not an ounce of arrogance or rage on his face. there's not much a hint of any emotion on his face— he's always been renowned for his ability to remain in control of his emotions, and such a talent is both impressive and chilling. you can't tell what he's thinking as he only looks you over, silently admiring the plump apples of your cheeks, the curve of your ample bust, and the span of your soft hips as he helps you rise to your feet once more. truthfully, he's been admiring you since the moment you stepped through those massive stone doors— though lust and desire aren't emotions rex lapis has frequently felt before, nobody could deny the allure of the sweet curves of the most darling little goddess of fertility he's heard so much about. with a soft belly filling out the front of your flowing robes, any man who looks at you is likely to only have one single thing on his mind.

"hold your head high," he whispers simply. "and carry yourself as a goddess ought to. i have heard your request, and i have made my decision."

you tremble under the intensity of his amber gaze, and he releases your chin in favor of crossing his arms over his chest. the way you part your lips to speak before deciding instead to hold your tongue to avoid speaking out of turn is genuinely adorable; you really are as innocent as they seem— he almost wants to think that this is your first day, uh, "on the job" as a goddess because you're just so adorably naive and pliant.

"and i shall grant you my protection."

you knew better than to press him on his decision and ask why he'd even waste his time with someone like you, worried that you may anger or offend him into changing his mind and dismissing you without a second thought. all that matters to you is that you and those who worship you will surely be safe under the protective arm of rex lapis, and all that matters to him is ensuring that the people of liyue will be able to prosper for years and years to come. war ravages people, homes, and livelihoods, and who better to help him eventually repair a war-shattered liyue than the very goddess who stands for prosperity, good harvests, and family life? he'll secure his seat as archon and then immediately get to work on rebuilding liyue with you at the center of his plan— you'll surely bring forth ample livestock, bountiful harvests, healthy children and loving families, and a new era in liyue's history.

a win-win for the history books indeed. you and your people get protection for the rest of your days and rex lapis gets a darling little wife to put an heir in as well as a prosperous liyue.

LMAO i love that now between me, you and @roykentt we've all asked each other about cheerscoops. the trifecta is complete

when I started shipping it if I did: i distinctly remember someone bringing up that they come up as a pairing on ao3 in the server in the early days of me being there, bc that's when i was like "holy shit, cheerful golden retriever x clueless golden retriever, i love it" but i didn't really start shipping it properly until i started seeing more content back in october.

my thoughts: my sweet babies. i genuinely never shipped steve with anyone bc i didn't think he'd be compatible, even as a long-time rarepairer, i was always bummed that i couldn't find anyone to justify shipping with one of my most favourite characters came along. and then season 4 brought many a candidate, including chrissy who might just be my favourite person to ship with steve.

what makes me happy about them: god, literally everything. they just make sense. they'd make each other so happy. they'd create the family neither of them ever had.

what makes me sad about them: not just that they never got the chance to interact in canon, but if the rumours are true and steve was supposed to mention chrissy by name in s2, thereby acknowledging her as a figure in his life?? i will skin matt and ross duffer alive.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: the fact that more people haven't written it yet, lol.

things I look for in fanfic: again, literally just its existence. i'm surviving on crumbs here.

who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: my other Big Ship for steve is steddie, but i'm partial to a little stargyle every now and again, as a treat. i also ship chrissy with eddie, but otherwise, nancy, robin, vickie. i'm a little obsessed with the idea of photocheer (chrissy/jonathan) too, just the idea of total loner x social butterfly. makes me happy.

my happily ever after for them: i mean, to me, the road trip au is BASICALLY my canon for cheerscoops so i can't say too much about that, but i hope that they would support and fulfil each other to become the foundation of the whole found family.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: i love the idea of chrissy being the icicle gf to steve's heating pad bf, but i also love acey's idea that steve is the most fragile lil baby when he's sick.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: they love people-watching. they'll sit for hours on a park bench, watch people go by. chrissy describes what kind of lives each person/group live, steve puts on voices and impersonates their internal dialogues.

Brickclub 3.8.16 ‘In Which Will be Found the Song to an English Air in Fashion in 1832′

We’re in the last quiet moment of intense waiting before it begins. At the start of the chapter, Marius is waiting silently in his room while the Jondrettes wait silently for the father to come back.

[Marius] thought of the double march that was going on at that moment in the shadows, crime advancing on one side, justice coming from the other.

Marius’s notions of justice are childishly simplistic, even now. Nobody but him and Javert think the law has anything to do with “justice.” In listing Marius’s fatal flaws it’s hard to pick just one, but this one is up there, being the one Valjean will ultimately use to condemn himself.

It’s a funny detail, but Marius is enough taller than Eponine that she has to stand on tiptoe to see into the glass he presumably uses for shaving. I don’t know, she and Cosette are both described as tall. I didn’t assume he had that much height on them.

(Obviously I don’t know that Eponine and Cosette are the same height but.. Symbolism.)

And HOLY SHIT, the song the title references.

We now have a Eponine-Fantine-Combeferre song trifecta, with a third POV of the same song-premise.

Eponine sings:

Vous me quittez pour aller à la gloire, Mon triste cœur suivra partout vos pas.

(You leave me to go to glory My sad heart will follow you everywhere.)

So, to recap.

Fantine sang:

Dieu me donnerait sa plus belle étoile, J’aime mieux l’enfant que tu m’as donné.

(Were God to give me his fairest star, I should love the babe thou hast given me more.)

And Combeferre sang:

Si César m’avait donné La gloire et la guerre, Et qu’il me fallût quitter L’amour de ma mère, Je dirais au grand César : Reprends ton sceptre et ton char, J’aime mieux ma mère, ô gué! J’aime mieux ma mère.

(If Cæsar had given me Glory and war, And if I must abandon The love of my mother, I would say to great Cæsar: Take thy sceptre and car, I prefer my mother, ah me! I prefer my mother.)

As Enjolras glossed for us, Combeferre’s mother is the republic. Fantine’s daughter is also the republic. Fantine and Combeferre both sing of being offered incentives to abandon the republic, but they refuse them.

But Eponine is being offered nothing. She just knows she’s going to be abandoned.

Cosette is France under the glorious and hoped-for future republic, but Epoinine is France under Napoleon III, who throughout this text is heavily symbolized by Thenardier. She had a few early years as an ill-fated republic (her relatively happy childhood), and then there was nothing for her but dictatorship, exploitation, and abuse.

At the end of this chapter she’s sent to stand sentry barefoot in the snow, on the utterly empty promise that she’ll have luxuries tomorrow. :(

Now I wrote a long winded and super sappy birthday speech thing to Gin that I’ll slap under a read more in case you don’t want to read it, i understand that. I’m a writer who’s got emotions and a big vocabulary.

All you need to know is I love her and wish her a happy borfday!

I met Gin about a year ago when I first joined buns good old snerver, and she was apart of what I called “the council” (which was legit Bun their sister Spud aka spoodle and Gin), the trifecta of authority in the snerver. They kept order and became the hammer when needed

Honest to god when I say she terrified me initially. Of the three she was second only to Spud on the fear scale, and I didn’t realize why I was so spooped until I got settled into the snerver and started talking to people: like bun I had a very good feeling about them and wanted desperately to be their bud

My fear went away as I settled in and I think I got to the “official friend” level once I started 3Z and immediately reached out to include these two people I was terrified of.

Because of this we talked a lot more than before and I began to get to know her better! Then when the Avatar au and Starchland was made I was suddenly alone in a snerver with three people who Id known truly only 4 months but felt like I’d known forever

And the holy trifecta became the morally questionable quad

Gin is an amazing person. She’s hella smart and a great writer, and always has ideas for a new au for me. She’s so sweet, never letting her less than stellar home life affect how she treats people and she’s the least troublesome in terms of angst and general memeyness.

She’s the bio degree having dino and white haired anime boy loving husky who’s one of the best friends I’ve ever had and I love her to death (even when she fixes my “you’re”s XD)

So happy birthday Gin! May this one be the best it can and may we one day get to meet so we can celebrate properly!

It’s an extremely heartbreaking story that most of us don’t really think about until it’s put into this kind of perspective. This one is still ongoing, and I’m extremely excited to see how she handles the rest of the story. I highly recommend checking this one out. Just heed the warnings beforehand.

This! Omg this series! I love it so much!! It’s slower moving but keeps you itching for the next chapter and is oh so relatable. What woman hasn’t had body image issues? And what plus sized woman hasn’t had to deal with rude jerks and bullying? This fic is actually super realistic and hits all those relatable issues. Can’t wait to read the rest!!

Ok, let me start by saying that I am a sucker for a good “character transported to alt. universe/world” fic. That said, I got soooooooooo addicted to this fic! For now, I’m recommending this first chapter, the starting point, which was already a beauty of its own. If you haven’t started yet yourself, prepare to be amazed.

If you like angst, this is the fic for you. It is utterly captivating and heart wrenching. It’s a cut your heart out with a dull centuries-old wooden spoon style hurt. The use of the song lines in this fic is well thought out and poetic. Make sure to have a box of tissues handy. If you don’t at least tear up while reading this, then you don’t have a heart to cut out, and your soul is already in hell.

A clever interactive series where you get to choose your favorite Winchester, and the ending of the story. This is so detailed and intriguing. I loved the story I ended up with the first time, and excitedly went back in to pick the other options. Each story was unique and well written.

This one shot is an absolutely stunning piece of smut. The lack of dialogue makes it that much better. All you’re left with is the option to feel the detailed emotions—sexual tension to the max.

Beautiful, detailed, and heartbreaking. Dean’s pain and need for comfort are palpable, and I cried while reading it. I can’t find the proper words to describe how this fic made me feel, but man did it ever make me feel.

A perfect combination of big badass Dean and soft, fluffy Dean, along with all the incredible smut your little heart could desire. I usually don’t like to read a series until it is complete, because I am impatient and don’t want to wait for the next chapter to post. However, this story was intriguing and sexy, and I couldn’t keep from reading each chapter as soon as it posted and then eagerly anticipating the next.

so like last night or something i got into a conversation with Friends and like apparently my mind went the Holy Trifecta of Étiennes. re: demon, angel, guardian angel.

demon étienne was sent on earth to gather souls. bla bla i mentioned it in the other pic yesterday etc.

angel étienne is an absolute dear. looks very naïve but do not underestimate him. he is very good with his lance. he loves being sent off to earth for missions and loves finding out what the humans have been up to since his last visit. sometimes hes chagrined when he finds out about all the Bad Things so hell go and find some good to feel better.

these three are not meant to exist in the same world.

What Myers-Briggs types do you think the main Trifecta characters would be?

Hmm. Well, I had a hard time settling one a single type for most of them, so I tried to find at least two for the six Trifecta “mains” - Paul, Reggie, Brandon, Conway, Barry, and Maylene.

(REALLY stretching it calling Maylene a “main”, especially since Chapter 13 is where she peaked; once Arc II happens, she’ll be in Out Of Focus territory for sure… buuuut she’s made her mark and a lot of readers take notice to her, so I threw her in)

Interestingly, I had no one pegged as INFP (Mediator/Idealist), which is where I fall in. Some characters fit half of it but I couldn’t justify the other half not befitting them (Paul and Conway were the partial contenders - and Brandon to a lesser degree… but Conway’s too charismatic and sociable, while Paul and Brandon aren’t deep thinkers to the point where they’re completely delusional like I am :P).

Paul - INTJ (The Mastermind) or ISTJ (The Inspector)

Safe to say if I had to pick one only, it would be INTJ. Definitely would sooner work alone than a group any day (and if Conway hadn’t been there for him like he’d been so much in Trifecta, this would likely still be the case for him - and Barry is more a result of Trifecta Paul’s character development). Much more comfortable doing things his own way and proving to the world he can handle himself. Even with Trifecta development, Paul still finds social activity a huge chore. Trifecta 21 has Paul go out of his way to be receptive to Conway’s friendliness, and it does take a toll on him physically and mentally. Also a master strategist, as per canon, and questions everything. And god help him if Paul is unsure of anything. It’s why he hates being indecisive in Trifecta; he believes even a wrong choice or a bad idea is better than none at all. And knowing his legendary levels of “patience”, he’s definitely not going to wait all day to find the right path.

With ISTJ… well, this was a Brandon contender, surprise surprise. Intimidating? Comes off that way. Serious? All the damn time. Formal, proper…? Well, he DOES respect his elders, for the most part. If he thinks you’re shit, he’ll treat you like shit, but Paul’s not nearly as eager to start shit as he was in his Trifecta youth. You can definitely say, either in canon or Trifecta, Paul’s a strong worker who follows his own moral code. For all his controversial shit, Paul has never once cheated or tried to take the easy way out. Now, he sure as hell isn’t PATIENT, and he doesn’t really put much stock in going out of his way to upholding social or cultural responsibility (especially the former). But Paul is typically quiet and reserved; while he’s prone to anger, he’s fully capable of keeping calm when he needs to. Even Trifecta Paul can pull this off unless he’s just physically about to break down. Often misunderstood? Ohhhhhh, yeah.

Reggie - ESFJ (The Provider) or ESTJ (The Supervisor)

ESFJ might actually be the lesser of the two here. Mostly because Reggie isn’t really an attention-seeker outside of his own family members. He doesn’t desire the spotlight; he just wants his daddy and lil bro to love and accept him! But Reggie IS an active young man, very social, way more thoughtful than he makes himself out to be, and totally IS the organizer for any family event that happens in the present-day and has been since his mother’s death. He’s the guy that everybody loves. It’s been a common theme in some AUs of his Trifecta persona where he ends up being one of the most popular kids in school with legions of girls who’d drop everything to date him and he just never notices.

ESTJ covers him more uniformly. Reggie doesn’t want to be the star of the show, but he does want to help and offer advice to absolutely anyone who needs it. And he checks out on the listed traits: honest, dedicated, dignified, and traditional. You could definitely see him as a role model (even if Paul doesn’t) and he’s a good fit for a leader role.

Brandon - ENFP (The Champion) or ENTJ (The Commander)

One of Brandon’s defining traits (that might’ve not been showcased in Trifecta yet since we’re not yet at the point where it’s mega-relevant) is that he will decide his own destiny and what path to take, damn what anyone else says. So there’s what wins him the ENFP brand. His intuition is pretty top-notch; terminal disease aside, Brandon can totally read Paul like a book even though he’s spent the better part of Paul’s life operating from a great distance and not really being around for his kid. He’s way more perceptive than most give him credit for, and though he’ll never admit it, Brandon does act on his feelings a lot. Even taking an overseas job shortly after his wife died while leaving his kids behind - he can say that’s solely because it was the best way to make up for the income difference, but really, it doubled as his desire to just remove himself from everything of Andrea’s influence. He had a harder time coping with her death than he’ll ever care to admit. Plus, Brandon’s unprofessional abandoning of his post that resulted in his return to Sinnoh? Totally impulsive. He also wasted no time making a detour to Reggie when Brandon learned he was in the hospital, so there you go.

With ENTJ, this correlates with Brandon’s leadership skills as head of the Kanto Battle Frontier, as well as being the head of his own travelling trifecta with Byron and Palmer. Ambitious is putting it mildly for Brandon, honestly. And while he can be a slave to his feelings at times, Brandon is more known for acting with cold, hard logic. He’s likened to Paul in Trifecta for a reason. Brandon’s all for challenging himself, not afraid to make the hard calls(as his sacrifice for Regigas proves), and hell no he cannot sit still.

Conway - INTP (The Thinker) or ENTP (The Visionary)

Well, Conway’s pretty damn easy to peg even if you didn’t take his Trifecta traits into account. INTP is Conway’s most well-known traits in a nutshell: absorbs info like a sponge, heavy on the logical, objective side of perspective… he plans, he hypothesizes, he observes, he analyzes, he theorizes, and he can pick up on details most others will overlook. Like, literally everything INTP applies to Conway. He’s the consummate INTP.

ENTP has many of these traits, as well. Only major point of contention is not enjoying small-talk, as Trifecta Conway especially is very much all for that… at least for the people he deems worthy of it. Barry, he might not be much up for the small-talk as he would Paul or Dawn. I wanted to make sure to at least add one E-type here since I think it should be emphasized that despite his many typical nerd qualities, Conway is very much extroverted even in canon. He’s one of the most extroverted intellectual characters I’ve ever seen, honestly. Canon and Trifecta Conway love going in-depth with their thought processes, and he is a lover of learning. Loyal and energetic are also listed traits here, which are definitely more prominent Trifecta Conway traits, but notable ones nonetheless.

Barry - ENFJ (The Giver) or ESFP (The Performer)

While I think we can agree Barry is more of a “live in the now” type than any other character listed here, contrary to the ENFJ type, the other traits fit Barry like a glove. Especially the “living in their imagination opposed to the real world” aspect. Holy shit that is very Barry. But he is idealistic, highly charismatic, outspoken… and in Trifecta, he’s proved to grow like a weed on characters who’d otherwise never associate with him, such as Conway and eventually Paul. Barry’s also much more of an optimistic individual compared to his future travel-mates and much less prone to letting bad shit get him down for any length of time.

ESFP speaks for itself. Barry’s the biggest spotlight whore of the Trifecta cast. Fun and livelihood are Barry’s core essences, and while he’s not the most considerate character to ever be around and thinking is secondary to everything, Barry isn’t a complete dick and will feel bad if he realizes he’s inadvertently hurt someone’s feelings. It may take him a while to understand that, but once he does, he’ll go out of his way to make you feel better. Barry doesn’t want to travel around with a couple of sad-sacks, after all. And while Barry’s an acquired taste who can and will rub people the wrong way… you know, compared to Paul and Conway, he’ll come off as the one most “normal” when it comes to people-persons. Barry’s aggressively extroverted, so even if it yields mixed results more often than he’d like, Barry will always go out of his way to connect with people.

Maylene - ISFJ (The Nurturer) or ESTP (The Doer)

Despite being one of the most developed characters among the gym leader category in the Pokemon anime, she is harder to peg down than the others. But IFSJ feels pretty accurate for her. Sensitive to the feelings of others could link to her identity as an aura-user… plus she was insecure enough to let Paul’s worlds wreck her shit. But she is extremely considerate of others, warm and kind-hearted, and bringing out the best in others is what she aims to do as gym leader. Considerate, loyal, unselfish? All fit Maylene perfectly. For a Fighting-type specialist and martial artist, she’s definitely a modest and gentle soul.

ESTP… I think Trifecta 13 proves how incompatible Maylene is with elaborate planning and handling shitloads of detailed instructions. If left to her own devices, Maylene definitely would have handled the issue in chapter 13 by directly confronting Saturn rather than trying her hardest to feign ignorance of his identity. She’s not hot-headed, but Maylene does far better winging it than adhering to something set out for her. Maylene does always strive to better herself, so she’s open to trying new things. While a little on the shy side, she enjoys being around people and she IS the head of her own damn dojo, so… there you go. While it’s a stretch to say she’s pragmatic or logical, she definitely comes off that way when you line her up with other characters of her type specialty and line of work. She is level-headed and down-to-earth, at least; I’ll say that much.

When you break it down, there are common carry-over traits between the two for everyone:

Paul solidly has Introverted, Thinking, and Judging in his set. Checks out.

Reggie always carries Extroverted, Sensing, and Judging.

Brandon is a sure bet for Extroverted and Intuitive.

Conway is a consummate Intuitive, Thinking and Perceiving man.

Barry is a lock for Extroverted and Feeling. Unsurprising.

Maylene only has Sensing as a consistent trait.
