Never know when a flashback will strike! Although actually Gaster had a pretty good idea that it was likely going in. He actually kept it together pretty well until the laughing started.

I've been working on this mod for so long and I'm so happy to release it ! It was my first time making CAS items and, I ain't gonna lie, it was hard. I feel like what I'm posting is the best I can do with my skills at the moment.

i’m really moved by how much Nope reinforces animal nature vs. human nature by insistently and powerfully humanizing black people. the way eye contact and seeing between OJ and Em becomes reassurance and connection between the two of them, while eye contact with Gordy and Jean Jacket is an attack, a challenge. Em and OJ are undeniably, vividly human, even if the media forgets it, even if they’re disregarded and dehumanized by the white people around them, it is their humanity that binds them— that marks them as each other’s and means they’re wholly unlike the animals that they’re working with and fighting against.

i think there's horse sexism in the kentucky derby . field of twenty horses, right? plus a couple more runners-up that can swap in if somebody has to drop out . not a single filly in the lineup. which obviously doesn't mean i think that like ... the HORSES are sexist . but i imagine that in a field where most of the top trainers are men themselves, there's more of a focus on training the colts that come across their paths, and perhaps even more colts being selected to be trained towards these big races in the first place . a horse is a horse is a horse, they all go fast, but there's probably an unconscious bias from breeders, trainers, owners, etc that prevents the field from being more diversified

#most jockeys are very small men also . as opposed to average-small women #you'd think there'd be more women jockeys . simply because of the odds of being short or slim enough to ride a horse fast #but it's mostly guys #okay scratch that . most of the small-time people i know who are horse people are women. the local tracks are probably full of em #but the guys whose names you see every year? are guys . glass ceiling like any field but it's extra stupid in this one #because not only does it cover the human people involved in the sport. it extends to literal farm animals #starting to think the thoroughbred series lied to little old sixth grade me you guys ........ #lkajsldkfj . i read those books and i was like . okay so the american horse racing culture is flooded with plucky young women . babe no #q

since Bdoubs has (for a long time now) canonically become the horse girl of the server, I find it ironic that his love of horses plus his denial of being short is such a perfect combination when you relate it to Jockeys!

Jockeys, for the most part, are short because being tiny and light allows you to compete and gives you an advantage!

So every time someone comes to request Bdoub's horse expertise I just imagine this little jockey running around excitedly talking about his stallions and yelling angrily when someone asks if he needs help getting on the horse "I'M A FLIPPING PROFESSIONAL!!" Bdoubs my horse babygirl don't deny your natural horse girl advantage!!!

ed is a kentucky derby trainer and his horse (Queen Anne's Revenge) and jockey (izzy) have won for the past like 2-5 years in a row (never the triple win tho, au where there hasn't been a triple win in like 20 years or something). he's bored of it but stede is out here trying really weird like, bonding techniques to get his jockey to really connect with the horse and ed's fascinated by this strange man.

episode 6 bathtub breakdown equivalent is ed confessing that he's never actually ridden a horse except for one time as a kid and he's actually deathly afraid of horses. despite the fact that his entire career revolves around horses and riding horses.

in lighter news, TIL there have been races where horses either lost or dumped their jockeys and won anyway

in January of this year, Vanyar tossed his jockey right out of the gate, then proceeded to tear through the pack like a pro, before taking a cool down lap and heading back toward the stables all by himself

last year, a horse threw a snit in the gate and knocked heads with Blue Trail's jockey, but the starters didn't pause or delay the race like they should have, so when the stalls opened Blue Trail was all 'don't worry abt it bro i got u' and left his jockey behind while he rocketed into a racelong lead he never once surrendered

🏇 Design your Silk ! 🏇

Mix and match patterns to create the perfect silk for your stable !

→ Download the psd files on my Patreon

In those Photoshop files, you will find premade transparent patterns ready to be recolored for each item of the set (helmet, silk, saddle pad and mask).

You'll need my Racing Set, The Sims 4 Studio and a graphic software. I recommend Photopea (free and online) if you don't have access to Photoshop or Procreate.

How to use :

Download the psd files and open them in Photoshop, Procreate or Photopea.

Open the "Layers" panel on the left. In the "PATTERNS" folder, duplicate the patterns you want for each item of the set (including their backgrounds, seams, etc).

Drag and drop your recently duplicated layers to each corresponding sub-folders in the "YOUR_SWATCHES" folder and make sure to place all the layers above the background one.

Recolor each layer with any colors you want by double-clicking on it and going to color overlay then choosing a color from the little square in color overlay.

Make sure they are all layered properly and activate the "FX" folder to get the details that will give life to the texture. (Only edit this folder if you know what you're doing.)

Export each item's textures by clicking "export as" in the "File" drop down menu on the top-left. Export each items individually while the others are hidden (You only need to activate the 'DRAG_DROP_PATTERNS' folder and the 'fx' folder, make sure everything else is hidden.)

It's not required, but you can also create a swatch thumbnail to differentiate your recolor in game using the "Thumbnails" folder and recoloring the patterns in it to match your swatch.

Once you have exported every textures you made, and with the Sims 4 Studio installed, double-click to open the packages files you want to edit from my Racing Set and click "Add Swatch".

Import your newly created textures in "Texture" → "Diffuse". (Do not edit the other ones.)

You can also import your custom thumbnail here in "Swatch Thumbnail".

In "Categories", you can edit the colors tags to match your custom swatch.

Click "Save" and enjoy your newly created silk !

Important notes : 

Don't duplicate my package files, just edit the one you have in your mod folder otherwise they will conflict. If you want to create a standalone version, you'll need to duplicate my package through The Sims 4 Studio. See this article for more details.

The silk for the male and female frame share the same textures, you'll just need to create one texture and import it in both of the package files. 

Same thing for the mask, you don't need a texture without blinkers, you can simply use the same one for the two versions.
