The end of 03x09 and most of 03x10 had more Jarah moments than the entire season 3 storyline. I'm not saying I'm mad, but I'm not happy to see the romance I came for take such a backseat.

Waiting for time to go by was excruciating. The second hand on the clock moved slower the longer you stared at it, it was as if it knew you were anxious to leave this place; anxious to join the outside world and it liked the anxiety it got from you.
You let out a deep sigh as you shifted in your chair, you had zoned in and out of today's lecture about World War II. Your history teachers had a voice that could easily be drowned out by any noise. He had no enthusiasm for any subject he taught and it showed.
You directed your attention to your best friend who sat next to you, they had been doodling in their notepad for the past twenty minutes. You knew if your teacher had called on either one of you right now you’d be doomed.
The sound of the bell ringing startled you, and you jumped in your seat. Your best friend caught sight of it and giggled, “Jesus,” you muttered under your breath as you packed up your backpack.
“We still good for tomorrow?” They ask. You both walked out of the classroom and into the hallway.
“I don’t know, my mom is still pretty pissed at me from the other day,” you commented.
“Oh yeah, I forgot about that,” they muttered. “How is all that going anyway?”
You shrugged, since the day Pedro took you to the aquarium a week ago, you had only seen him twice. He came over once to take your mother out on a date and for drinks after and he came over another time to cook dinner for your mother. Even though, he said he was making dinner for both you and your mother, you had found a way out of it. Luckily, you already had plans that night to go study with a group from class. You could tell he was trying to keep his distance, trying to respect the boundaries you have silently made. You respected that. You just weren’t sure how you felt about him still.
Your mother, on the other hand, was angry with you. Angry that you were not being so easy on him and you were angry with her. Hoping she’d be more understanding with the situation. After everything the two of you had been through, you had hoped that she would be the most understanding out of everyone.
“He’s okay,” you finally commented.
“Just okay?”
“I mean, what am I supposed to compare him to?” You sighed, “I don’t know him well enough to say he’s better than my dad or that he’s the best boyfriend my mother has ever had. So, he’s okay.” Okay was going to have be enough. For now. You were scared to say that he was great when in fact he wasn’t. Or to say that he was the worst person ever when he was a sweetheart deep down inside. His being an actor wasn’t adding to the equation. Every site you looked at, trying to find some type of dirt on the man always had something amazing to say. There was no way he was just Pedro. There had to be something.
They gave you a nod, “I think any man would be better than your dad.”
You shrugged, “I doubt that.”
You had reached the front entrance of the school building, where parents picked up their kids and where some waited for the school bus. Your best friend scanned the cars, smiling as they spotted their dad waving at them, you couldn’t help but feel envious of her. They had an amazing dad that was always there for them, one that really cared for them and protected them. You looked around, hoping that you could spot a familiar face. Yes, you had a loving mother who was always there for you, but you were repeatedly missing something.
“Let me know about tomorrow, yeah?” They said as they began walking away. You gave them a nod before waving them off. Watching as they hugged their dad inside the car, what you’d give to have something like that.
You began your walk home. It was only a twenty-minute walk and you enjoyed being able to listen to music on your walk home. Just because you listened to music on your walk home didn’t mean you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings though. You were aware of the things that were happening around you, the cars that passed by, the people you saw, and where exactly you were walking.
Meaning, that you noticed one car pass by you three times already within your walk. Immediately, you took note of the color of the car and model, hoping that maybe it was just a coincidence that you saw the exact same car three times, but it was hard to miss the big dent on the rear bumper. You doubted that there were three cars that were the exact same color, same model, with the same dent on the rear bumper that passed you all within five minutes of your twenty-minute walk.
Feeling your heart beginning to race, you picked up the pace. You glanced behind you to see the car had pulled over, you could see that there was only one person in the car. The car inched closer, giving you a better look at who was driving.
Your eyes widened when you realized who it was. Your father. He knew that you realized who he was, he put the car in park and got out of the car.
“Y/N, sweetie,” he smiled.
Don’t stop, you thought to yourself. You could hear him grunt as you continued walking down the sidewalk. Hearing the sound of the car door slamming caused you to jump slightly, you could hear the engine roaring to catch up. He slowly drove next to you, rolling down the window.
“Sweetie, please,” he began, “how about we go for a drive and talk? Just like we used to.”
“I’m not supposed to talk to you,” you hissed as you kept your eyes forward, continuing with your walk.
“Look, sweetie, the restraining order is just a piece of paper, it’s not going to keep me away from seeing my daughter. Just get in the car.”
Your house was only a few blocks away, you could run it, but running it would risk him knowing where you lived. You needed a plan and you needed one fast. There were only a few options, run back to the school and seek help there; which was the most logical and sane option. Or you run and try to lose him.
Running back to the school did have its risks with it now being further away than your house.
“I miss you, sweetie,” He called out. “I need to see you and I can’t just let some piece of paper get in the way of that! Look, I’m sorry for everything that has happened but I’ve changed!”
It was always the same exact thing. The same exact words that lost meaning years ago, but they still brought you anger.
“Go away!” You yelled before sprinting down an alley. It probably wasn’t the best choice, but you knew this alley led to a small walkway towards your street and you knew this was probably your best bet in losing your father. Once you saw the street ahead of you, you stopped to make sure you couldn’t see his car before darting across the street to your house.
Swiftly, you pulled your backpack off your shoulders before fumbling inside the pockets looking for your house keys. From the distance, you could hear a low rumble of the engine making its way down the street. “Fuck,” you muttered to yourself. Heart racing as you swore to yourself that you left your keys in the small front pocket of your backpack that was full of pencils, erasers, and random pieces of paper. You could hear the small jingle of the keys being pushed around, letting out a sigh as you felt them against your fingers. Pulling them out of your backpack and unlocking the door as quickly as you could, you made it inside just before your father's car made it past your house.
Locking the door behind you, you ran into the living room, “Mom?!” you yelled in a panic. “Please be home,” you mumbled as tears began to fill your eyes, you ran up the stairs, “Mom!?”
~~
Down the hall, in your mother's room, Pedro heard the door slam shut. For a second, he thought that maybe Yesenia's meeting had been canceled, which would’ve ruined his surprise for her. He let out a deep sigh, thinking that he could come up with some excuse as to what he was doing, maybe find something for her to do downstairs for the next hour. He got up from his position next to the pile of pieces of wood on the floor and made his way towards the door.
“Mom!?” He heard a voice yell throughout the house, his hand stopped just before he grabbed the doorknob. Thankful that it wasn’t Yesenia, but now he was filled with anxiety. Does he go out there and greet you or stay inside the room? Staying inside the room would probably be the worst thing to do, but he knew you didn’t like him all that much and he wanted to give you the space you needed. Pedro shook his head, he needed to at least let you know that he was in the house. He let out a deep sigh before turning the knob and opening the door.
“Mom?!” Pedro's heart began to race, something was wrong. He could hear the panic in your voice, and he quickly stepped out of the room. He could see you making your way up the stairs.
“Hey, Y/n!” He said in a soft tone, you jumped a little as you got to the top of the stairs. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Is my mom here?” you asked anxiously as your eyes darted around the house.
Pedro took in how wide your eyes were and how pitched your voice sounded. “N-no, she had an emergency meeting at work, she won’t be back for a while.” You took in a deep breath as your hands shook, reaching for your phone in your back pocket. “If you’re trying to call her, it won’t help that she left her phone here.”
“Fuck,” you muttered. You lifted your hands up to your head, taking in deep breaths to control your breathing. Pedro noticed your knuckles go white from gripping your phone, the way you appeared to struggle to catch your breath. He knew what was happening all too well.
“Y/N?” He softly said as he took a step closer to you. You took a step back.
“I-I,” you took in another deep breath, and you began to fumble with your hands.
Pedro took a few more steps until you were directly in front of him, taking hold of your hands, “breathe with me,” he instructed. Taking in a deep breath and holding it, you followed. “And out,” he let out his deep breath, he led you in taking a few more deep breaths before helping you down the stairs and into the living room.
You took a seat on the couch, panic still trying to make its way in. Pedro took a seat next to you, he noticed your eyes darting around, “hey, hey,” he tried to catch your attention. “Deep breath,” he coached you through another deep breath.
Everything you had thought about Pedro went out the window. Yes, you thought there had to be something wrong with the man, something that no one knows about. A dark history of some kind, but when he knew exactly what to do without asking, at that very moment, you thought maybe there wasn’t.
Hesitantly, Pedro pulled you into an embrace, holding you just enough for you to stop trembling. He didn’t ask if you wanted to talk or if you were okay, and for you, it was what you needed. You allowed yourself to be okay in his presence, to feel safe. Slowly you wrapped your arms around his waist.
Pedro wanted to jump up and down with joy but he remained calm, gently rubbing circles on your back until you had fully calmed down. The two of you remained in silence for about fifteen minutes, you felt your heart slowly regain its normal pace and your breathing began to normalize.
“You ready to talk?” Pedro asked softly.
You let go of the embrace, tears brimming your eyes once again. “I saw him today.”
Pedro didn’t have to ask who you saw, he just knew by the way fear took over your eyes earlier. He knew it was a touchy subject, a subject that he didn’t know you would talk to him about.
“H-he was at my school waiting for me,” A tear made its way down your cheek.
“We don’t have to talk about it,” Pedro suggested.
“Please don’t let him get me,” you pleaded as you looked over at Pedro. “Please.”
Pedro’s heart broke into pieces, the terror that man had put in you, if it were up to Pedro that man would never see the light of day. Pedro placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, “I won’t.” He let out a sigh, “how close did he get?” Pedro asked. He knew the terms of the restraining order that was held against your father, knowing that if he got within 40 feet he could go to jail.
You shrugged, “it was close,” you sniffled.
Pedro sighed, he knew that what you needed to do right now was calm down. He wanted to call the police right away and get the man arrested, but he knew that that was probably not the best way for Yesenia to come home. Once Yesenia came home, he’d speak to her and they’d call the police, but for now, he had other things that needed his attention.
“how about we watch a movie?” He grabbed the remote from the coffee table.
“Why are you so nice to me?” you finally said. You weren’t expecting Pedro to just stop everything and be there for you. If anything, you expected him to go back to whatever it was he was doing, leaving you alone to panic. If it were any other person, they probably would’ve done just that.
Pedro looked at you puzzled, “I-I–”
“I don’t get it,” you began, “You come in here and you act like you truly love my mother and I treat you so horribly. I do everything I can to get you to run for the hills but you’re still here. You even dealt with our mess and you’re still here.” You got up from the couch, “So why are you still here? Why do you put up with it?
He placed the remote back down, “If I’m being honest… I don’t know. I have this immense love for your mother and I… I just can’t explain it. I’d like to be there for you if you’ll allow me to. I know I can never replace your father nor will I ever be like a father to you because you may not allow it, but I would like to be a part of you and your mother's life in one way or another.”
You shook your head, “I don’t understand.”
“You don't have to,” he got up from his spot on the couch.
Tears welled up in your eyes, “this is new to me.”
“It’s new to me too.”
“It’s gonna be hard for me.” He nods, “I can’t promise anything.”
“I’m not asking you to,” he said softly.
“Alright.” You wanted to believe that you weren’t doing this for him, you were doing it for your mother. Seeing how much joy he brought her made you happy and that should be enough, right? Right. Yet, it was hard for it to just be enough. It was hard to let someone in after years of trauma, but if your mother could do it… then maybe so could you.
“Movie?” He asked again as he sat back down on the couch.
You gave him a nod, taking the spot next to him. “I hear Paddington 2 is a good movie,” you commented.
Pedro couldn’t help but chuckle, “But we have to start with the first Paddington.”
~~
Hours later, Yesenia walked into the house. Exhausted from the long meeting and anxious to see how many missed calls she had on her phone. She made her way to the living room, spotting Pedro a smile formed on her lips, “surprised to see you her-” she stopped mid-sentence as Pedro immediately shushed her. She walked around the couch, her eyes beaming as she saw her daughter laying her head on Pedro’s lap.
“She fell asleep halfway through Paddington 2, that was like two hours ago. I haven’t had the heart to wake her,” Pedro whispered. He gently combed your hair with his hands.
Yesenia sat on the coffee table in front of them, “want me to wake her?”
Pedro shook his head, “She’s had a bad day, let her rest.” He then looked up at Yesenia, “Her father was waiting for her at her school, I was waiting for you to come home so we could handle it.”
Yesenia’s heart dropped, this was one of her worst fears. “I’m sorry you have to deal with our drama, Pedro. I understand if-”
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence,” he immediately responded. “I don’t want to break up, I don’t see that happening anytime in the future.” He sighed, “I can help.”
“I couldn’t ask you to do that.”
“I’m offering,” he looked down at you before looking back up at Yesenia, “let me help.”
As much as Yesenia wanted to decline his offer, she knew she couldn’t do this alone again. She didn’t have it in her anymore, she needed the help. “Alright.”

Dating as an actress could be a little bit tricky sometimes. From complicated schedules to filming at distant locations or certain scenes I’d have to do – all that had been issues in the past.
With Spencer everything seemed so uncomplicated for once.
He was understanding and respected my wish for him not to watch any of my works – just because I thought it was a little awkward. However, once he found out about a particular movie I starred in, he had a hard time talking about anything else.
Curiosity over what all the fuss was about seemed to really affect him. I thought that telling him about what was happening in the movie in detail might help but it only seemed to make it worse. Sometimes it only took seconds for him to get visibly aroused when I described a particularly raunchy scene I did.
There was something about the idea of seeing me naked on the big screen that really intrigued him.
If he was aware of how much fun I had with teasing him about that I couldn’t tell. To end his suffering at last, I decided to ask him if he wanted to watch the movie after all. He agreed before I even had the chance to finish my sentence.
That was how we ended up sitting beside each other on my couch on a Sunday afternoon, my spiciest movie playing on the TV. I took more interest in watching his reactions than the film itself.
The first impure scene was of my character pleasuring herself.
I noticed how Spencer’s pupils dilated and his cheeks began glowing when he witnessed that. He licked his lips once the room filled with the sounds of my fake moans and I wondered if he could tell the difference between real ones.
When he caught me staring at him, he cleared his throat, obviously searching for the right words to ask what he really wanted to know.
“Is that… uhm…,” he muttered, “...How you actually do it? In real life I mean?”
“I guess you’ll have to watch me sometime to find out,” I teased.
His eyes widened at my words, the poor boy apparently too stumped to find his voice. I placed a soft kiss on his burning cheek and encouraged him to focus back on the movie. As a scene of a heavy make-out session with my character’s love interest came on, I noticed how Spencer kept shifting in his seat, almost as if watching me acting in a love scene made him nervous.
Once things took a spicy turn, his demeanor changed. Suddenly he became cocky, huffing at what he was seeing on screen.
“That’s not how you touch a woman,” he scoffed. “What is he even doing?”
“He’s following the script,” I reminded him.
It was as if he tried to mock the other actor when he said, “You don’t even like that position.”
“It’s just an act, Spencer.”
When my character got closer to her breaking point on screen, words seemed to suddenly fail Spencer again. It was all the confirmation I needed to know that my acting was in fact very convincing.
“I can’t tell if you’re jealous or turned on,” I snickered.
He took a moment to answer me, sighing dramatically before mumbling, “A little bit of both.”
My eyes fell to his lap, noticing the growing bulge straining against his pants the longer he watched the scene. I couldn’t help but tease him some more.
“Don’t you think my boobs look amazing in that scene?”
He looked at me with a confused expression on his face, stating, “They always look amazing.”
“Are you sure?” I purred as I took my shirt and bra off to reveal myself to him. “Even in this lighting?”
For a brief moment he couldn’t decide whether to look at my bare figure on screen or in front of him but kept his eyes on me eventually.
With a smug grin painted over his face he chuckled, “Actually, I think they’d look better with my hands on them.”
I pointed at the actor on TV and giggled, “Even better than his hands?”
That was what made him snap as he harshly grabbed my waist to pull me into his lap. His mouth and hands were on my chest in a matter of seconds, caressing me with more enthusiasm than I had expected. I began rocking against the hardness in his pants once he focussed his attention to the peaks of my breasts. The moans falling from my lips weren’t unlike what we heard before but everything else was completely different.
Spencer noticed that, too.
“He’s a fool. He wouldn’t know how to please you,” he breathed against my skin.
It was as if he tried to claim back his territory by letting his hands greedily roam over my body, shedding every piece of fabric that got in the way. I moved with him and mirrored his actions until our bodies could touch without any barriers. I sat on his lap like a queen on a throne, looking at the only admirer I’ll ever need.
“I bet so many men wished to have you when they saw that movie,” he whispered into my ear before kissing down my neck. “But you’re mine.”
With my hands cupping his face I guided his lips to meet mine, capturing them in a desperate kiss. His hand slipped between our bodies, finding me already aroused and waiting for his touch.
“I need to have you,” he groaned. “Now.”
“Take me,” I demanded.
He guided his erection to my entrance and I sank down on him slowly. He buried his fingertips into my hips and began bucking upwards while pushing me down on him. I swung my arms around his shoulders and found him in a kiss that kept getting interrupted by the moans and sighs escaping my throat.
We both became desperate to find relief quickly, moving against each other with more force than we usually would. It didn’t take long for us to fall over the edge together, every throbbing of his length answered by me pulsating around him. With heaving chests and heated cheeks we lingered in this position for a few more moments.
The movie was still playing in the background while we tried catching our breaths. When we heard my character’s love interest talking again, Spencer chuckled, “He could never fuck you like I can.”
“Never,” I agreed. “I’m yours.”

BG3 Companions and the Abuse Cycle / Trauma - Astarion
It has been itching in my fingers to write an analysis about the main cast and their trauma (responses). As it happens, Baldurs Gate 3 stumbled into my life at the very time in which I began my trauma recovery, and as such seeing the very struggles I go through represented so well in the game, it will forever hold a dear place in my heart. Alas, enough about me, I will begin my analysis with Astarion, because his trauma (response) is the most like mine, followed by Karlach.
Astarion
From what I can gather of his background, his dialogue, and his actions, Astarion's greatest traumas stem from being controlled and sexually, as well as physically abused. Ever since he had become one of Cazador's Spawns, he had no say about his own life. He was a plaything to be messed with. His opinions did not matter, they were mocked and ridiculed. His boundaries didn't exist to Cazador, neither sexual nor moral ones. Astarion had to live feeling powerless for centuries, made to use his body as a tool for his vampiric abuser.
But that changes when he gets infected by the tadpole. For the first time in so many years, Astarion can make his own choices, can feel in control over himself and his own body. And he relishes in it!
He doesn't want to hold back anymore, he wants to experience everything that was denied to him; The rush of being your own master not being held back by moral obligations, judgments, or most importantly his very nature as a spawn, any longer, is intoxicating.
But Astarion is at the beginning of his trauma recovery journey and suffers from Cazador's bad influence still. So, Astarion doesn't know how to set proper boundaries yet, he doesn't know how to respect other's boundaries either and he enacts what his abuser did to him onto other people. He says he doesn't care about saving others, finds killing fun, and finds hurting other people entertaining if it gives him an advantage. And why? Because this is how Astarion learned to be powerful! Nobody has been kind to him for centuries, or respected a simple word like "No". It's been a big fight, his life is "kill or be killed".
His relationship with his "siblings" is also interesting in that context. He was Cazador's "favorite", reminding me of a Narcissist's golden Child. So even experiencing a healthy relationship with the other spawn was denied to him and this shows as well, as he pities them but he is willing to throw them aside if it means he will gain power (over them).
And if you let Astarion ascend and don't set a good example in his life, by simple respect of his boundaries, he will not break the cycle. He will become Cazador, he will become the abuser.
Now, in contrast, if you respect Astarion's wishes, if you don't force him to do things he doesn't want to do if you stop him from ascending, it is interesting to see his reactions.
For example, if you don't involve yourself with the Drow twins, and read between the lines, recognizing Astarion being uncomfortable, you can see the relief in his facial animation and hear it in his voice (props to the voice actor!), being glad that you are respecting his wishes. Or if you don't rat him out to the blood alchemist in Moonrise Tower (i forgot her name, sorry!), he will be surprised by someone respecting his boundaries for the first time! All those actions change him for the better, the change culminating in his final romance scene - in the case you are dating him - where he will openly state how you showed him that he has a voice even without being all-powerful and abusing others. That you changed him.
Astarion's trauma journey is about learning to set boundaries and using the freedom he has without at the same time becoming what he hates. Astarion's trauma response is fight!
And I find both of these awfully relatable.
There is honestly so much more I want to write about him, but I will save this for another post.
If you want to see where I am going with this about Karlach, await my next rambling post!.

——————
“You promise you liked it? You’re not just saying that?” Harry asked as they made their way to the after-party.
“Yes, Harry! It was a good film. The actor who played Jack was especially hot.” She smiled mischievously.
“Be serious!”
They’d long passed the point in their relationship where either one of them actually had to ask for reassurance, so this was rare instance for Harry. It was no surprise though. They’d bonded over art, music, and literature very early on in their relationship. Harry learned a lot from her tastes and she learned a lot from his. Plus, he respected her opinion immensely and found himself mystified by how much he still wanted to impress her, even after all this time together. A small piece of him always wanted to dazzle her.  She was his most important critic; he hung on her every word.
“I loved it, Harry. I promise.” Her tone more sincere now. She squeezed his hand in hers as she spoke, attempting to communicate to the strength of her enthusiasm to him through her touch. “I liked seeing this side of you. Even the parts that scared me.”
“Scared you?” His eyebrows knitted together.
“Yeah, I mean, it was surreal watching you — your character— yell like that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you raise your voice in anger before.” His expression relaxed when he understood what she meant.
“Oh. Well, is that a good thing or a bad thing?”
“Good! Very good! It just took me a second. I’ve never seen anyone I know in a movie before.” She giggled.
Harry held the door of the venue open for her. Their discussion came to an abrupt stop as soon as they walked in. He was instantly swarmed by co-stars, friends, and film industry representatives who wanted his attention.
His initial round of greetings finally complete, he was suddenly aware that she was no longer by his side. Harry scanned the room for any sign of her, finally spotting her across the room, standing with Nick Kroll and his wife, animated about whatever it is that they were discussing. The closer Harry got to them, the more he could hear of their conversation.
“I mean, I’m just so proud of him. I know it’s silly to say, but I am.”
“Not silly at all! I haven’t known him that long, but honestly, even I’m proud! When I run into people and they ask me what he’s like in person…I’ve been converted. Im a fan now.” Nick giggled.
Harry’s heart swelled with love at their words. He wrapped his arm around her waist, turning her gentle towards him. “Hi, darlin.’” He leaned in for a kiss that she’d assumed would be a quick peck. She was slightly thrown off when Harry was more forceful than she’d anticipated.
“Everything okay?” She asked when they broke the kiss. “Everything’s perfect.” He smiled at her, a clear twinkle in his eyes.
“What, I don’t get kiss?” Nick joked.
“Hello, honey.” Harry responded, leaning in to kiss Nick right on the lips.

No cause I’m taking a break from studying and writing down a layout for the next few chapters in “The delicate beginning rush” series and you guys….. I’m getting myself so hyped up about it.
All I can say is that this series will be long and probably the most slow burn one I’ve ever written.
Hope y’all are ready because I’ve been listening to Evermore, Plastic Hearts and Emails I can’t send, so ofc I’m unpacking all that drama into this fanfic😈
Fake article!!

19 and taking hearts left and right
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 19 year old actress, more recently turned singer and songwriter, seems to be going through men faster then we can keep up. And no, just because they have a girl, doesn’t mean she won’t make a move!!
Last week the Met Gala, happened and as every other year, the event was full of A-listers, with thick pockets and a vague notion of the real life. On the guest list was also (Y/n) a 19 year old actress who’s known for her role as Ana and Christian Grey’s daughter, Phoebe. But that first role of hers was not what got her the invitation, it was her most recent role as Amelia Baron, a troubled teenager who’s death is a mystery. The movie ‘Reconstructing Amelia’ resulted in (Y/n)’s career to skyrocket, as it was well received by critics and even scored 5 Oscar nominations, one of which is for best lead actress.
(Y/n) has been slowly going up the ladder of fame, making friends left and right, while keeping a good private life. Her fans describe her as relatable and sweet, always respectful and friendly. But they might be wrong, no one gets an Oscar nomination, unless they really know how to act, right?
In October last year the actress's parents, who are not famous people, divorced. The whole thing was carried privately and the reasons for it happening are still unknown. Some close sources say it's been a long time coming, but they restrained from going into specifics. When the divorce was finalized, (y/n) was photographed outside the courthouse house crying (pictures below). Now it's said that the actress is no longer in contact with her parents and that they've moved out of New York, leaving the 19 year old all on her own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now you might be wondering how does this all link to our article? Well some people speculate she’s still picking up the pieces of whatever happened between her parents and to do that she chose dating. Serial dating, to be specific.
As we mentioned earlier she was at the Met, dressed in Prada, so she was sat at the same table as the cast from the upcoming biopic ‘Elvis’. According to her instagram she met and chatted with the entire cast, but there’s only one person that’s 100% sure she talked to. That person being none other then the 29 year old actor Austin Butler, the two of them posed for a hot picture together, you can find it on her instagram. If you didn’t know he has a girlfriend, who was also his plus one at the event that night, but judging by the picture him and (y/n) it would never cross your mind they aren’t together.
The drama didn’t stop there as two days later they were photographed hanging out at a cafe in Brooklyn, no Kaia Gerber (the actor’s girlfriend) in sight. Fans came to their defense fast, saying they are just friends, but the incident repeated on Sunday when they were again caught by the paparazzi.
The plot only thickens, if on Friday they were seemingly far apart from each other, Sunday, fans reported they were close, laughing and joking around, until their walk got cut short by a rude fan. People who were there said the fan, a man in his fourties’, asked (Y/n) for a picture and she denied. The man went on to call her names and bring up the famous lingerie photo shoot she did when she was 18, for the movie ‘Reconstructing Amelia.’ Butler apparently came to the rescue, defending her and then driving off with her, in what fans claimed to be her car.
Why we say she’s taking hearts left and right? Well… cut to Monday this week. She and Joshua Bassett, were spotted together at a restaurant on the upper east side of Manhattan, enjoying lunch. The two of them were not shy to share some PDA with us, as Joshua kissed her on the forehead. At this point she seems the have moved on from Austin : “from rock’n roll music straight into pop” said TMZ.
The 20 year old actor was a full gentleman and bought her a gift, a 300$ silver bracelet with a Purple Heart, this let’s us to believe they have probably been together for a while now.
And while all that was happening between (Y/n) and Joshua, Austin was photographed with his girlfriend, Kaia out in Boston, after he took a last minute detour flight to see her. Fans noted that there seems to be tension between the two and Kaia looks rather sad in the pictures.
Now the teams have formed, some of the fandom supports the relationship of (Y/n) and Joshua, while the others side with Butler. We are of course to be reminded of the 10 year age gap between the latter and her. Some say Austin went so deep into method acting that he’s now searching for his Pricilla and that the 9 year age gap he has with his current girlfriend, doesn’t quite fit.
We want to hear your thoughts on this? Is she dating Joshua or Austin? Is Austin a cheater as some fans claim?
We’ll do some more digging of our own, but let us know your opinions.
Oh and lastly let’s not forget she has a song coming out in a few weeks, dedicated to her long time best friend, Timothee Chalamet. And fans believe this is only the first song out of an entire album, that she might have in the works. Why is that important? Because she’s a swiftie and has worked closely with Taylor as a backing singer for her re-recorded albums, so fans expect heartbreaking, cryptic songs form (y/n). She proved she’s a great songwriter, when writing a full verse for Taylor’s song ‘Nothing new’. Now with every day passing and every new post from (y/n), Jack Antonoff of Finneas O’Connell fans find tones of Easter eggs in true swiftie fashion.
Maybe she’ll explain everything in a future song. Some say she’s working on her Red/Speak now era, dating older man, comparing Austin Butler to John Mayer and Jake Gylenhaal, requesting that she writes her own ‘Dear John’ and ‘All too well’. I guess we will see!

Just a thought:
Mew (from tharntype) saying that it's all just a fanservice and then fans getting mad and filled with outrage at him for...telling the truth and some even in denialism (i.e. you're lying, the eyes tell a lot, but what about gulf doin this and so on)
Tells u a lot about delusion and how Mewgulf really did helluva job on fanservicing. I hope they get paid enough for these kinds of shit
And also some bl actors liking mew's tweet.
Fanservice really.
I mean if i could ask you Francis:
Would you do fanservice with ur friend, who let's say ships you and ur friend a lot for money?
Yeah, it's so important that people understand that actors are acting and are always acting if they're on camera, especially in circumstances where they have expectations of them and fans watching them.
You do not know them. No matter how many videos you're watched, no matter the behind the scenes, no matter what, you don't know them as a person.
Actors are real people but they're also actors and that fanservice? The flirting off camera? That's part of the job.
Would I?
I mean, first, no one would want me to seriously.
But would I? I mean, honestly, it would depend on the amount of money? There are a lot of things I would do for a genuinely life changing amount of money and fake dating feels like something I would be willing to do for a lot of money.
But I'm not famous. I'm not interested in a serious or real relationship and I'm not actually in that position nor would it affect my career in anyway to do or not do it.
Anyway.
I'm glad Mew said that, I hope it gets more common and it's a reason I'm deeply uncomfortable with the actor fandoms as a whole and tend to avoid as much of it was possible besides my occasional 'this actor is great!' moment.
And this is so, so pervasive. I once made a post pointing out that constantly referring to a friendship as a male crush was wrong and got argued with because it was a big actor pair and people were very clear that they believed there was a crush between them and that was why one actor got the job he did.
Besides downplaying his talent and how this entire thing works... the assumption that Everything They Say is True and Face Value and that they couldn't possibly be playing it up for the publicity is just... wild.
It's the same as when, in a horribly awkward moment in an interview, two actors started joking about how they never really kissed and it was all CGI. Like, obviously not true. But it was because the interviewers were asking in-depth questions about how much they enjoyed kissing each other and both the actors looked miserable.
Please stop sexualizing the actors. The characters? Go for it1! They're fictional! But the actors are real people and they deserve not just private lives but also respect for those private lives.
Seriously.
I'm not following any of this because I don't follow actors but I definitely respect Mew for saying it and being clear about it and being direct about it now that it's no longer a threat to his career. How many casual friendships between actors has this kind of shipping and fanservice irreversibly damaged?
(I have seen some of the tweets in question on another post so I do know a bit of what's going on but I'm not going to actively follow it or... willingly go on twitter.)

Jess Watches // Thu 21 Dec // Day 90 Synopses & Favourite Scenes & Poll
The Resident (with mum) 2x14 Stupid Things in the Name of Sex
Mina and Devon try to figure out how their seemingly healthy neighbor has suddenly passed away. Meanwhile, Kitt gives dating advice to a sex-injured patient and Irving hits a crossroads in his not-so-secret relationship with Jessica.
What was Micah thinking with such a public proposal? It's like he's never met Mina before lol. And have they even discussed marriage before this because Mina does not seem to want that level of commitment. Unless she says yes out of fear of literally breaking his heart.
Unprisoned (with mum) 1x01 Repetition Compulsion
After 17 years in prison, Edwin Alexander comes back into the lives of his daughter Paige and grandson Finn, just as Paige is about to buy her own home.
This isn't a silly comedy by any means but I had no idea Kerry Washington was so good at physical comedy. The imaginary nunchackus bit was really funny. And it's so good to see Delroy in something that will appeciate him and treats him as as the lead actor. Also, my brain short-circuited when it showed a full-frontal Brenda Strong walking in all confident post-sex. I still can't believe it really happened.
The Lazarus Project 1x07 Episode 7
George grapples with his guilt and begins to confront some unpleasant truths - including how his actions may have fundamentally changed him as a person.
I really thought he was going to propose in Paris, but the lad was just waiting for his crème brûlée, and I respect him for it. Desserts are the best part! But I not suprised that with him being more controlling and overly cautious she didn't want to marry him. He is no longer the man she fell in love with. Also, Shiv's body refusing to get blown up had me cackling lmao.

Hi, with all the shit that's been going on in Ben's fandom, are you still going to continue writing on his characters? I've seen a lot of writers saying that they no longer want to do that, but me personally, don't see Billy, Logan etc as Ben so I still reading fanfics.
hey! so I'm gonna be honest I was very afraid someone would ask me this and I'm trying to avoid all this shit, going on right now.
But I'm definitely going to continue my writings. I know that social media is filled with lies and fake news and stuff like that. I'm not saying that all is fake. But it's filled with a lot of fake chats, or people getting blocked for really really mean words or posts, I saw on Twitter. I'm sure true things were said, but in my opinion the relationship of a celebrity is none of my business. I'm not supporting any racists shit right here!
I still think that Ben is an incredible actor and musician. Maybe my brain don't want it to be true, that he's dating someone like her, but as long as he doesn't say anything official about their relationship I'm gonna continue. Because I can't separate lies from facts anymore.
So I hope you can understand my opinion. Please remember that social media is filled with a lot of fake and please stay nice and respectful.

Max talks about his new Christmas romantic comedy “Ein Taxi zur Bescherung”:
You play a young single man who became blind.  Can you imagine how you would deal with such a stroke of fate?
Max: I don't know how I would react.  I always try to approach a role issue as intensively as possible.  Of course, I think a lot about his everyday life, about the feelings of the character.  In the course of preparing for this role, I did a "blind course" with an employee from a school for the visually impaired, so I became familiar with the darkness and the specific communication techniques.  From this, however, one can only partially imagine what it’s like to be confronted with such a fate.
The characters of this film experiences of loss and loneliness.  Do you have any advice to prevent it?
Max: If I open up and reach out to people who want to help me, there is a greater chance to find my way out of these situations.  The solution often lies with your own attitude towards life and fellow human beings.
Jan conceals his blindness from his love interest online.  And Jenny (the love interest) also doesn't tell him that she has a son.  What do you think of such secrets?
Max: Because this is a first date, I think it's wise to keep the intimate and private details of your life to yourself until you can and want to trust that person.  You not only protect yourself, but also your child.
After their initial differences of opinion, the relationship between Axel Parschke and Jan Olsmer developed more and more.  Is this the beginning of a true "male bonding"?
Max: I’d leave that to the viewers and their imagination and interpretation of the story.
What do you mean by that?
Max: I find the term ‘male bonding’ very reducing and no longer contemporary.  Perhaps the word male should be removed from the beginning. I understand friendship when two characters get to know each other through their commonalities, but also through their differences and accept the other as he is.  Respect and empathy for the situation and views of the other person are an important basis for friendship.
How did you find working with director Dirk Kummer?
Max: I value both his work and him as a person.  It was very pleasant experience, because he is someone who not only enjoys his work, but also has a great interest in his fellow human beings in general.  He has a talent to bring a harmonious working atmosphere and is very understanding, perhaps because he was an actor himself.  Our shared background connects us furthermore.

I’m so glad we will officially get the new episode tonight. The week between episode 6 & 7 was no fun at all. Usually I looove seeing all the fanart and reading all the different thoughts in between episodes. But this time I tried to stay away from everything in fear of getting spoiled. ☹️ Stupid leak.
Yeah. And the fact that we may or may not have had a leak of parts of 9&10 makes you worried to look anywhere. I wish I at least knew if there was a real leak or not so I'd know how careful to be.
It's so bizarre. I've never been in a fandom where the leaks were this bad. I've never experienced anything like it. It makes me feel so bad for the creators. I don't think a lot of people understand how psychologically taxing it is when your work leaks. Some of that is because it can materially affect your career... Like even if someone is gonna watch/rewatch later, those same-day numbers are crucial. If even one person puts off watching the official release for a day or two because there's less urgency, that's starting to fuck up numbers.
I mean, I work in publishing, not tv, but I've seen authors get royally screwed because their book release was fucked up. Leaks or booksellers putting it on the shelf too early or people from one country buying it from another country with a different release date... Often the consumption numbers are monitored during a very specific period and if superfans are obtaining the media outside of that period, it won't be counted. (See: tv ratings, first-day streaming numbers, social media engagement numbers during premieres, presales, bestseller lists, etc.) And then if those numbers aren't reflecting the reality of how much is being consumed, it doesn't really matter. Those are still the numbers that are going to be used for negotiating contracts in the future.
Plus, like... it's just emotionally taxing to see your work leaked. Maybe only part of it leaked and it makes your work look bad and you can't adequately defend it without spoiling everything or breaking an NDA. Maybe it's leaked in a form that isn't so great (like a low quality video, an unedited draft, etc.) and you hate that this will be people's crucial first impression. But really, the worst part is no longer knowing who to trust. I know a fairly big-time author who had a trusted friend read over one of her books to edit it... then found out her friend had passed that unedited draft around to a bunch of her friends. She realized that her friend didn't respect her or her livelihood and mostly just wanted bragging rights. Now she's extremely wary about making new friends or asking for help with her manuscripts, and it's honestly really sad.
I imagine it'd be even worse if you're working on a production with so many moving parts. Do you trust your fellow actors? Fellow writers? The editors? The people working in your office? The friends who come in your house? I can't imagine the kind of tension you'd be working under when you know that leaks just keep getting out and you don't know where they're coming from. : /
And then, y'know, people are like "well, if I watch it same-day as well, that's not hurting anything, right?" but people wouldn't post leaks if other people didn't watch them, and creating demand for that kind of thing is... bad.
Like I don't like leaks from a spoiler standpoint, sure, but you start to gain a greater appreciation for how bad a leak can be when you're comforting an author crying at their kitchen table because their book release got fucked and they have contract negotiations this year...
tbh, I don't understand the mentality behind leaks at all. I have access to a lot of media often years before it comes out (between my editing work and also the paid tv/movie focus groups I often do) and I can't imagine leaking it. I guard the privacy of my clients pretty zealously. No saving unpublished manuscripts to the cloud, no offering identifying info while I'm working, etc. It's actually something I find kind of stressful, the idea that I could accidentally ruin someone else's livelihood if I'm not careful enough... The idea of doing it on purpose or through carelessness makes me cringe...
And then if I did do something by accident, like those WWDITS auditions saved with the wrong privacy settings, the idea of people finding that fuck-up and passing it around instead of letting me know so I could take it down... Like damn, when I think about the people who may never work in this industry again because people just wanted to find info on their favorite show faster... Genuinely kind of upsetting.
That said, the constant leaks, the way that no one secured the usernames for characters used onscreen (which allowed for the Colin's YT hoax), etc. have me like. Bro, who is in charge here? Y'all have a fandom now and you're still acting like a baby show on your first season. They really probably need to hire someone for this.

CSH, Identity, & Change (800 words)
A while ago, I saw a post on r/CSHfans asking what it means to write about deeply personal or private things – how that can shape our relationship to someone else’s art and what regrets an artist might have because of this. I came up with this huge response from the lens of a master’s student (read: huge nerd) studying celebrity persona and authenticity, particularly how those components can create community and identification within musical subcultures. I felt like I didn’t really capture the essence of the question – my response sounds more like formal writing than anything else – but I wanted to share here just in case anyone might be interested in my rambling opinion piece.
Car Seat Headrest piqued my interest first because the music is just amazing (what other band would let me listen to a furry monologuing about weird sex for 5 minutes straight), then because I think the relationship between Will Toledo, his personal thoughts and experiences, and the public is an interesting one. The contents of Twin Fantasy are deeply personal; we hear Will sing about an idealized, but ultimately harmful relationship, the fantasy he’s created of his partner, and his struggles with being queer. For a lot of listeners, myself included, his self-disclosure in this album is part of what makes it great. The ideas we gather about who Will is and what he’s gone through guide our own interpretations of the music and form the basis for a fan culture that’s sprung up around CSH (See: Hansen).
But when you reach Will Toledo’s level of fame, it gets more difficult to navigate opening up about your private life. Your experiences are no longer purely your own; they’re left to the interpretation, analysis, and re-imagining of the general public. Will has expressed frustration with how personal narratives in TF have been interpreted, calling out a Rolling Stone writer for disseminating “a weird, gross, inaccurate representation of [his] personal life” (See: New York Times), and seems to be pulling back from the open approach of his earlier albums (the newest CSH drop is literally called Making a Door Less Open).
From an audience perspective, it seems like TF Face-to-Face might’ve been a turning point for Will, as nearly all his original works produced since then (with the exception of MADLO) have been from his jokey EDM side-project, 1 Trait Danger. With three concept albums out to date, the music of 1TD doesn’t follow the personal thoughts or actions of Will, but rather the fictional high-school antics of characters including Stoney Bologna, Cossett the bitcoin-stealing bully, and a derisive caricature of journalist Tim Schenectady. 1TD members Will and Andrew even perform as two of their characters (1 Trait and Stoney Bologna respectively), causing them to walk the line between musicians and character actors.
You can clearly see the influence of 1TD on CSH’s 2020 album, Making a Door Less Open. I mean, come on – Will performs MADLO as Trait, an extremely recognizable bunny thing wearing a gas mask and neon orange jumpsuit. From the criticisms I’ve seen of MADLO, it seems that some people perceive the lyrical content as vapid or gimmicky, Trait as a redundant alter-ego of Will himself, and the project as a whole as an example of CSH “cannibalizing itself” (see: Pitchfork). But, to relate this to your topic, Toledo has clarified that the contents of MADLO/Trait character are meant to “take the focus off Will Toledo for once.” Even though some MADLO entries can be viewed as autobiographical (“Hollywood”), they just don’t provide the same level of personal disclosure as earlier works.
I think a key takeaway from this is that any deeply personal work of art will be subject to audience dissection, analysis, and at times, horribly incorrect interpretation. Will Toledo – who has essentially built his musical brand as intimate and authentic through CSH’s disclosive lyrics – will never be able to prevent audiences from conflating the ‘real Will’ with the idea of Will derived from his music. Because audiences genuinely believe they have access to the ‘real Will,’ the introduction of the Trait character could’ve been an attempt to form a stronger boundary between Will as himself and Will as Car Seat Headrest.
Obviously, posting these 800-some words of speculation make me no different than the rest. I can’t pretend to understand the motivations behind Trait, or MADLO, or Will’s interest in fursuiting (a different, but related, conversation) any more than any other fan of CSH. I just think it’s interesting to examine how Will might be renegotiating his personal disclosure and public persona as time goes on, particularly from an academic standpoint.
If anybody has any related thoughts, please drop a response or DM. I’m super interested in other perspectives on this topic, or even related thoughts on celebrity and fandom identity.

100+ Films of 1952
Now I’ve made it to 120 films, which was my original estimate... but I keep discovering more things to watch! Hollywood was regularly cranking out around 400 movies a year at its height in the late 1940s, so there is no shortage of candidates. Most are not especially remembered today, which means they are easily found online for free. So... I think the new number will be 150 films. Crazy? Absolutely! But a highly interesting experiment, nonetheless.
Film number 121: Anything Can Happen
Release date: April 3rd, 1952
Studio: Paramount
Genre: comedy/drama
Director: George Seaton
Producer: William Perlberg
Actors: Jose Ferrer, Kim Hunter, Kurt Kaszner
Plot Summary: Giorgi arrives in the United States as an immigrant from Georgia, overcoming the hurdles of learning English and settling into a new country. Thankfully he has lots of help from fellow Georgian immigrants and a young American stenographer who records traditional folk music in her spare time.
My Rating (out of five stars): ***½
I really enjoyed this, even if it isn’t a perfect film. It was so cool to get to see Eastern European immigrants as the protagonists in a film from this era. (Some spoilers)
The Good:
Jose Ferrer. He was Puerto Rican in real life, but he played an Eastern European surprisingly well. I’d need a Georgian to tell me if his accent is truly on point, but it certainly worked for me. He was extremely likeable and moving in the role, and it was especially interesting to see how incredibly different his performance here was to his Toulouse Lautrec in Moulin Rouge.
Kim Hunter. I loved her! She was perfect as a sort of intellectual leading lady, and her whole presence was warm and empathetic.
The heroine was a folk music collector! She found and recorded traditional songs performed by authentic singers, and I wanted to jump through the screen and be her friend! Interestingly, The Anthology of American Folk Music was released in 1952- it was a mammoth collection of field recordings of traditional folk music, and it became the basis of the folk revival movement in the 1950s and 60s...
I was excited to learn that this was based on a book written by Giorgi Papashvily himself about his experiences immigrating from Georgia and marrying his wife, Helen.
It was nice to get a positive portrayal of Eastern European immigration to the U.S., especially given that Georgia was part of the Soviet Union at the time. The characters were treated with empathy and respect, reminding Americans that almost all of us were immigrants once.
Most of the other Georgian side characters were colorful and entertaining, although sometimes their cutesiness was a tad too exaggerated.
The little bits of folk music throughout. Ferrer was wonderful to listen to.
The hilariously true problems of English spelling and pronunciation! A longer segment had characters arguing about the pronunciation of “dough.” One guy convinced another it was “duff,” because that’s how “rough,” “tough,” and “enough” are pronounced!
The Bad:
Hunter and Ferrer didn’t have a ton of chemistry, unfortunately. I liked them both a lot, but there wasn’t any sexual tension. (That was supposed to be the case for Helen and Giorgi within the film, so maybe it was a specific direction? I don’t know.)
Another Hollywood warning to young women about the horrors of becoming an old maid! “You become like furniture!” The way Helen’s grandmother pushed her to marry Giorgi, even if she didn’t feel any sparks, was upsetting. “You can get chills down your spine from a cold shower. Fred gave you that, and it was the two coldest years you’ve ever known! He didn’t need you, and that’s the only basis for a marriage- to be needed and wanted.”
Sometimes the film was too sentimental and light-hearted. It definitely only showed the positive aspects of immigrating.
The plot got overly episodic at times as well, jumping from one adventure to another.
More blacklisting again! Kim Hunter was blacklisted in Hollywood after this film until the late 1950s for the “crime” of being a progressive Democrat.

For the HaruGou drabbles, could I ask for a soul mate au? Anything you like :)
Oh my god, why haven't I done this for them before?! I love a soulmate AU. I hope you like it anon, thanks for the request~
HaruGou: Drabbles By Confused Panda Bear Chapter 37: Red and Blue Read it below or on AO3.
The first time it happens, Haru is six and Gou is five.
She was running a little bit too fast on the slippery tiles of their local swim club than was sensible or even necessary, to greet her older brother at the starting end of the pool.
Predictably, she slips and he’s there just in time to catch her before she falls, head-first into the water.
He has his hand wrapped around her wrist and her eyes are closed and braced for impact, but when she opens them she sees that his are fixed on the space in between them: at the skin where they had made contact turning red and blue respectively.
They pull apart from each other with the shock and Gou ends up falling in the pool anyway.
Whatever this means is important enough to have their parents engaging in a serious conversation in the sports centre lobby.
They didn’t know it at that age, but the occurrence completely changes the trajectory of their lives as well as Rin’s, not really understanding why but overhearing nonetheless:
“Interesting, I’ve never seen it happen so young…”
“…I guess it’s a good thing that they have found each other so early on…”
“…It would probably be best to keep her in Iwatobi then…”
“…Yes, we can’t move now and keep them apart…”
“…I suppose Rin could go to that boarding school in the next town over to swim instead,” they were saying, but Haru doesn’t really care about any of that, even if he had a clue.
All he cares about is Gou who hasn’t stopped crying, her wails eventually subsiding when the blue that he had imprinted on her skin slowly fades and disappears.
____________
Suddenly, they’re not moving to Australia after all, and Gou is tagging along on Haru’s play dates with Rin more often—not that he’s ever minded when she did before.
When they were still young and innocent to it all, they would sit on the side of the pool together in between his practice laps, and Haru would make a game of doodling pictures on the tops of her knees and the length of her arms.
Gou would touch him playfully too, leaving little handprints on his shoulders and on his back so that she could see the glow of red on him, streaking beneath the water’s surface as he swam.
The marks faded usually within half an hour, maybe longer depending on the pressure or length of the contact. Rin finds it weird but whatever, mum and dad say that it's normal and that maybe he’ll find someone who he can do that with too, someday.
It isn’t long, however, before they both grow up and learn what this all means and that’s when things get awkward.
There are TV shows with romance lines with actors who do what they do, and adults who comment on how cute they are together, and how lucky they were to find each other so young let alone at all.
They’re twelve and thirteen when they notice that their touches start to leave a tingling heat.
It felt like being branded as a belonging, though it wasn’t painful but rather—dare they say it—pleasant, even though neither of them were brave enough to say it to the other out loud.
____________
Maybe it’s because most people find each other when they’re much older, but everyone and Gou the most, can see they don’t act like soulmates at all.
Her mum says to give it time—boys can take a little longer to come around to this sort of thing, she said—but then they’re fifteen and sixteen and rumours are starting to spread around their school that perhaps they are soulmates in the friend’s way, the purely platonic kind of way.
It wasn’t hard to imagine it from Nanase Haruka, who cared for little else besides swimming—his indifference to their circumstances prompting uncomfortable questions about the status of their relationship that Gou didn’t quite know the answer to.
____________
When she turned seventeen, the invitations to the cinema started, to get bubble tea and or even just to simply sit together at lunch; all of which Gou respectfully declined until it was obvious that Haru didn’t care either way.
In reality, Haru just didn’t pay much attention to it, at least at first.
He’d known since he was six years old that Gou was his—whatever that was supposed to mean—and had never doubted it for a second.
He knew he was being awkward though, he knew he went out of his way to touch her less these days, but it wasn’t for a lack of wanting to but more the implications of the marks he left on her that he was still getting his head around, even now.
He didn’t like it when people stared, let alone when their stares were directed at her because of him too.
So they acted like the good friends that they were around each other, and vice-captain and club manager in front of everyone else.
He thought that would be acceptable until he got his shit together and asked her to be his girlfriend instead, but then rumours started going around about some random guy from the weightlifting club who’d been flirting with Matsuoka Gou and was taking her out on a date with him on Friday night.
“He’s very bold, going out with someone else’s soulmate,” one of his classmates said.
“And she said yes?”
“I don’t see why that is a surprise. It’s not like Matsuoka would get any action, otherwise!”
There was a chorus of laughter at his expense, his peers feeling comfortable talking about her in such a manner around him because: so what? Nanase never did anything about it.
Only Makoto could see that he had stopped drawing and that his pencil was threatening to snap in his hand.
“Aren’t you gonna say something to her, Haru?” he asks, but Haru doesn’t even know where to start.
____________
He comes home late after practice, staying a little longer than everyone else to blow off some steam, and finds her sitting on his porch waiting and teasing the white neighbourhood cat with a piece of string.
On his approach, the feline stalks towards him and winds itself around his ankles and Gou can’t help but feel a little jealous.
“Hey, Haruka-senpai…”
“Kou.”
The tense silence that follows has him gripping at the strap of his backpack tightly.
“How was your…?”
He couldn’t even bring himself to say it.
“It was lovely,” Gou told him and he swears he can hear his heart cracking in two. “He took me to the new pho restaurant that’s opened up in town, and then we went for a walk along the pier.”
He nods to indicate that he is listening but fuck, what part of her thinks that he wants to hear about this?
“You know, he asked me if we could make it official—” his eyes snapped up to look at her, his expression pained and confused, “—but when he held my hand and I looked down and didn’t see blue, it didn’t feel… ”
She trailed off with a sigh and her smile was amused but a little defeated.
“…It was the same when he kissed me too. It was nice but—”
“—I don’t really want to know, Kou.”
She paused to tilt her head at him.
“Why?”
Haru sat down next to her, closer than he’d dared to in the past couple of years, but he still can’t bring himself to look at her.
“Because…only I’m supposed to…”
“It’s not about what you’re supposed to do, Haruka-senpai,” Gou said, tenderly. “It’s about what you want to do.”
Her smile for him was so gentle and so patient.
He’d never wanted to kiss her more in his entire life.
____________
When Gou arrived home that evening, her mouth was tinged blue and there was a trail of it down the column of her neck, and she has to physically restrain Rin from storming out of the door and back from where she just came.
“Fucking—Nanase!”
____________
It was the middle of summer and way too hot to be sitting by the pool with her tracksuit zipped right up to her neck.
But shorts and a t-shirt were out of the question, because then everyone would see the blue burnishing her inner thighs, the handprints on her knees and over the back of her neck.
“Hey Haru-chan, aren’t you getting in?” Nagisa teased him, who was similarly over-dressed (unusual for the boy, especially when near a body of water).
He smirked at Gou, and then down at their hands, laced on top of the tiles together with the colour purple mingling on their fingertips.
“Hmm. Maybe in a bit.”

Almost Lisa: Pt 8, “Laughable... Almost”
*I retain all rights to my photography and story, story details, biographical information, fashion designs, art work, and anything and everything I have posted which is my own creation*)
You're still thinking about it, aren't you? Why I haven't dated an 18 years. It does sound pretty incredulous, bereft of the story behind it. No, I’m not crazy or have unrealistic expectations. Well, I do NOW. And life is just too damn short for bad company, bad sex, bad coffee, or fake relationships . The funniest ignorant comments men make to me are that they're surprised “nobody scooped (me) up yet”. As if I would relinquish that decision or fall into the arms of any man who wanted me. As if I OWE that to someone because simply having standards isn't enough for me to remain single. I want and deserve to be attracted and inspired, too.  And honestly, I seldom meet someone who excites me in the ways I find attractive (intellectually, spiritually, and yes, physically).
Tumblr media
Fathers / Daddies,
Hug your baby girls. As often as you can. If they don't learn what non-sexual touch is from you, they will have nothing to compare it by moving forward. Sex will feel like respect and appreciation when it's not.
Sincerely,   A woman who learned this the hard way.
Once I moved to LA, I apparently developed attractions (and tolerances) to grown-ass man-children. My ex (yes, 18 years ago) had terrible mommy and daddy issues, was a pathological liar, and had at least three personalities (that I counted). He was also a kleptomaniac and stole a substantial amount of money from me (and a couple of his friends), just after cheating on me. Total package, obviously, lol. After that experience- which culminated in about a year of my life spinning out of control, dropping down to 105 lb because I just couldn't believe I didn't see signs of his illnesses- I eventually took a few lovers. But always unfulfilled and with unwarranted drama. One such arrangement lasted nearly seven years, on and very “off”. He was another (older) grown-ass man-child with serious Daddy issues. But wait! There’s more... He was also a narcissist, an over-compensatory control freak, and a very angry human who threatened to commit suicide every few months right about the time he knew I was going to leave him. But dang, if he didn't get the soft part of me that wanted to help him heal from his own trauma. Some people can't. So why did I stay?
Sex.  Literally, that's the reason. I was completely focused on my career and wasn't in a position to have a more committed or permanent relationship. Plus, he had an adorable little dog. It was- I thought- a mutually agreeable arrangement. But once he sexually and psychologically abused me, I was gone. Permanently. You get to a point in your life where you realize how valuable time is. When I say I no longer make time for bullshit, I mean it. That dude- by the way- later acquired (I've chosen this word on purpose) an industry award. Hollywood is full of - and too often celebrates- bullshit. And it’s hardly difficult to find in an industry that attracts hurt and broken people, looking to find themselves. Sadly, many believe what The Biz tells them is true. And others support those lies to further their own careers. I’ve witnessed many a colleague completely lose themselves, desperate to fill a gap in their lives. Few actually find the “Happily Ever After” of Hollywood success. And of those who do, there is most often a price.
Tumblr media
There are 2 reasons people do things:
               1) the desire to experience Pleasure,
               2) the need to avoid Pain
A few years ago, while still living in "The Valley” (CA), I’d frequent cafes (as I am right now- quel suprise) and edit photos for the books I self-published. Joan's on Third was a favorite stomping ground. At the time, one of my neighbors was (is) a famous name actor being dragged by the media (and rightfully so) for a slew of disgusting accusations which surfaced. He would deliberately position himself where I had to glance in his direction, then stare me down until I looked his way. He’d invite himself to join me, looking over my shoulder at what I was working on, lavishing compliments, trying to win my favor. Then- manically- complaining about everything and everyone. He wasn’t nervous, just pissed. As if consequences were so...like...annoying.  A few years later, He was back on the film grind with a new show and more in the pipeline. Everyone stopped talking about his indiscretions. This happens A LOT in Entertainment. The next public outrage comes along and the old one is forgotten. When I worked in public relations (damage control and marketing), we'd tell our clients that Time was a friend. For this reason.
Hollywood runs on false power and real control. Piss off the wrong player and you'll find your climb up the ladder is greased and missing rungs. To succeed you must - to some degree- be a “Team Player”. Not only where booking jobs is concerned, but out in the field. The general public has heard and become familiarized with some of the behind-the-scenes debauchery over time, but they really cannot grasp that its REAL, and how DEEP the rabbit hole goes.
Tumblr media
In my early days in the Biz, I was invited to countless industry parties and events. Some, I actually went to. It was common (for me) to dance with celebs and share booths at exclusive clubs. There were also copious organized events which were more private, where celebs could “let their hair down”, away from the medias gaze. It was around midnight at one such party in The Hills when a large bouncer approached me and my host and explained that we were welcome to stay, but that the party was “going in a different direction”. I got it, immediately, and got up to leave. JUST as a certain celebrity’s naked ass went running up the stairs, chasing a bevy of young, star-struck, spandex-clad 20-somethings (something they were known to do). Lisa, OUT. I never believed I had to sell myself to achieve success. I had the “it factor” then, was talented, smart, and professional. Surely if I kept studying, auditioning and improving my craft, success would be inevitable.
I was wrong. Truth be told, playing the Game can be... helpful.
Everything I’ve accomplished has been done with my integrity intact. There were many opportunities to advance by other means. I couldn’t. Or wouldn’t. Though through the years, I watched several colleagues chose to go the route of hotel meetings and “favors” to shortcut their careers forward. It often ended in tears, protests, pleas, and even blacklisting. I’ve lost at least a few colleagues to suicide or substance abuse along the way. If you don’t have solid people who care about you and keep you grounded, Hollywood is a dangerous playground.
Tumblr media
La La Land gets a rep for being a meat market and playground for soulless opportunists and pedophiles. I wont pretend they aren't in the mix. But there are infinitely more good people than bad. Unfortunately, often bad ones are gate keepers and decision makers. It’s not as if depravity and abuse run rampant across the industry. It’s there, but you generally find it by looking for it. I learned to recognize trouble and mastered getting out of uncomfortable situations before they became confrontational / "icky”. Though not necessarily unscathed.
Case in point: I’ve worked in The Biz for nearly 20 years and have around 160 or so credits to my name. But you probably never heard about me until you read this Blog.
