Muzan. Who hates your shape-shifting at random times. Muzan, you and gyokko heard there was a magic lake that healed humans without any medicated water. You heard the rumors, so it was your job to take Muzan and Gokko there. Muzan was about to order Gyokko to do a search drive in the lake but you, decided to take it upon yourself to dive in with the appearance of a half fish half woman, almost like a mermaid to start the search. "They're good!" Gyokko said and looked at Muzan, who's now shaking his head in filtration.

They watched you emerge from out of the water and swim back to Muzan. "I didn't find anything- AHHH!!" You screamed as Muzan began to throw salt on you, knowing full well how sea creatures react to salt. "Change back! Now!" Muzan said, and gyokko tried to stop Muzan, but he also got hit with salt as well.

Muzan. Who will take advantage of your useful blood demon when nessacary. Nakime fell ill, and Muzan needed to get somewhere quickly due to his busy schedule. When you heard your boyfriend master Muzan, needed to get somewhere quickly, the frist thing you decided to do was shape-shift yourself into a harpy. You flew, holding Muzan's arms with your claws and you looked down to see his grumpy/annoyed expression.

"That bird version of hantengu taught you how to do this, didn't he?" Muzan asked, and you nodded happy. "Yes, his name is Urogi," you said to Muzan, but he scoffed. "Yeah. You smell like him, too. Fucking disgusting" he said. You weren't paying attention and ended up crashing into the tree.

Muzan. Who needed you to catch a really fast slayer with yellow hair. The reason? Muzan couldn't stand the bright color, and so you got down on all fours, shape shifting to have the appearance of a cheetah. "When I said get him, I didn't mean like that!" Muzan shouted as you ran off and already stressed out with how stupid you look.

You stopped running and sat down exactly like a big cat. "So... should I turn into a car? I don't think I can do that," you said, bringing your paw to your chin to think meanwhile the yellow haired slayer had run away further. "GO FUCKING GET HIM" Muzan screamed.

Muzan. Who arrived at the main spot in the infinitely castle where upper moon meetings are held. "Oh wow! You really did it! Look at that Akaza-dono," Douma said. They hadn't noticed Muzan's arrival yet, and he raised his brow, moving a bit closer to see what Douma and Akaza were so invested in. Muzan noticed you used your blood demon art to shape shifts into a small cat.

He didn't even know you could ever do that, especially at this tiny size. "Mm. I didn't think you could do it. Good job, I love cats." Akaza was about to pet you when he realized his own hand had fallen to the ground next to you after being severed. "Huh?" Akaza and Douma said, relaxing that you were also gone. They look behind them and froze in fear.

"How dare you touch my significant other," Muzan said, his voice rough as he glares at Akaza and Douma. Before they could explain themselves, they heared loud purring sounds. "...Master. I think you've taken alike to one of your significant other appearances" Kokushibo leaned down to Muzan's height, snapping him out of it to realize his thumb was rubbing your cheek. When muzan realized what he was doing, he just dropped you.

"Idiotic is what it is.." he said angrily and walked away with you still as a cat following him. However, the upper 3 could see Muzan actually found this form cute since they got a glimpse of the blush on his cheeks.

i saw atsv for a third time so guess what? DEMON SLAYER SPIDERMAN AU. oh. what’s that? you expect me to make tanjiro spiderman? THINK AGAIN I’M CHOOSING SENJURO

Got bit while on a school field trip. Muichiro had wandered off from the group so he went to find him. Instead he found the spider.

Is really panicked at first when his powers start showing up. He wants to tell Kyojuro, but also doesn’t want to get him involved so he keeps his mouth shut.

His two best friends (Muichiro and Nezuko) notice that something’s up with him, but can’t quite place what.

He didn’t even want to be a hero at first. He goes to Ruka (she’s alive for now, might die later) for some comfort and advice:

“Mom… what if there’s someone who has powers that could make a difference in the world, but they know they’re not good enough to use it?”

Ruka paused and looked down at her son. It was more than something he just wanted to know, it was something he needed to know. “Why do you ask?”

“Just… trying to think of what to write about this character for an English essay. School stuff.”

It was a poor lie, but she chose to indulge him nonetheless. “Those born with greater strength have a duty to protect the weak. It isn’t a matter of what they think they’re capable of, it’s something they have to do no matter what.”

And Senjuro made up his mind.

He wasn’t sure where to start. He wants to protect his identity, so he quickly gets a suit thrown together. He’ll make a cooler one later. Then he decides to venture out into the city to find some crime.

He’s… not exactly the best fighter at first. He lacks confidence, but his new abilities start to make up for it. He wins some, he loses some. But gradually, he starts to improve.

When someone he saves asks for his name, he kind of just draws a blank and goes “Uh… Spider-Man?” He’s not in love with the name but also can’t come up with anything better. It grows on him though.

But he does a lot of his vigilante work in the night, so he sleeps less. He’s more tired during the day, falling asleep during class and making his grades slip. If Nezuko and Muichiro weren’t worried before, they definitely are now. They want to know what’s going on.

They corner him into a sleepover. They’re over at the Rengoku residence for dinner when Nezuko is like “omg a sleepover would be so fun” and Muichiro goes “totally” and Ruka and Shinjuro are right there. Senjuro has no excuse ready to say no, so the parents say yes.

They fall asleep, Senjuro tries to sneak away, but then the two catch him slipping on the costume.

Senjuro of course panics and naturally they have a lot of questions. He tells them to keep it down and begs them not to tell anyone else. The two agree, but want to help him whenever they can.

So now two people know he’s Spider-Man and he intends to keep it that way. He’s doing his best to protect the city, but villains seem to be lurking everywhere and sometimes… you can’t always save everyone, even the people you love.

Ok. Another disappointing figure event. I'm just not into as much anime as I used to be, for me to even recognize most of these characters, let alone to be attached to them enough to want to buy their Nendoroids.

I feel like until I get FE3H Claude and Dimitri Nendoroids, I just can't get excited about any new figures. Because any new figures just feel like money I could be saving for FE3H Nendoroids…if they eventually come. But I've spent so many years collecting, where I thought a series I liked wouldn't get Nendoroids, so I splurged on other merch, and then Nendoroids for that series would get announced. It just KEPT HAPPENING. So I don't know why FE3H is not following suit. Intelligent Systems even said they'd be participating in WonHobby37! FE3H has a lot of great designs! They'd make wonderful figures! On par with all these Vtubers and Fate characters I don't know. But I guess that's the thing: all these characters are likely very popular, and I'm just out of the loop. -_- I'm sure there are lots of people who have been happy with many of these announcements. Just like the past several WonHobbys that didn't have FE3H Nendos. But I feel like, all this time I've been holding out for FE3H Nendos, anything that isn't Claude and Dimitri, I just can't get excited over, enough to spend money on. My OTP has raised a high bar. If this keeps happening, I'll just stop being excited about Nendoroid collecting and figure collecting IN GENERAL. I can see that happening to me eventually. I'm kind of scared, because I feel bad for all the past hobbies/collecting I've dropped off from: manga, anime, comic books, dragons, etc. These things used to be MY WHOLE WORLD. I feel bad looking back and seeing how they've fallen to the wayside. ;;

I guess I can be excited for Nendoroid 808 from Hifi Rush and Nendoroid Ginko from Mushishi. Then I can finally do Mushishi and Natsume Yuujinchou Nendoroid photoshoot crossovers. It should be great.

…Still really deflated thAt FE3H didn't get Nendoroids AGAIN. I thought I kept my hopes down, but then as the houses for the gallery opening crept up, I suddenly had all the hope again. Maybe the only way to stop is to just stop being obsessed with FE3H. Netflix's version of Nimona has been helping me out with that lately. Maybe I should put some effort into it and fully get into Ambrosius/Ballister, forget about FE3H, then I can stop being enormously disappointed at every WonHobby, like the past few years. (Then when I've forgotten about FE3H, maybe then it'll finally get Nendoroids announced.)

Man, I used to be into PERSONA 5. That used to be my whole world! AkiRyu was my OTP! Persona 5 is still so freaking popular, that these WonHobby announcements never disappointed me! Because there would always be SOMETHING Persona 5 announced. At this past WonHobby, there were several Persona 5 Royal figures announced, and now at WonHobby37, we have the painted prototype reveal of Nendoroid Doll Joker!!! …I miss being fixated on only Persona 5. ;_;

Anyway, I still didn't see any Fire Emblem, to at least keep my hope alive for more FE3H figures, hopefully Nendoroids, in the figure. So I'm still disappointed. But Intelligent Systems said they were participating in WonHobby37. Did they just display all those Fire Emblem static scales that were previously announced a couple months ago? I guess so, because there's no "Fire Emblem" listed on the online gallery AT ALL. They probably just have physical displays of their previously announced figures at Good Smile's physical WonHobby gallery in Japan. Nothing new to announce, so nothing on the online gallery. ;_;

His admiration is done from afar, and it honestly wouldn’t be a surprise if it took him months or years to even have an actual conversation with the woman. They’ve maybe had some chit chat in passing, but nothing very intimate

Still, those little moments sort of stick with him—despite how silly he knows it is to hold onto trivial interactions—and he always remembers the little smile she had on her face that one morning, or the sweet, chipper way she told him ‘Good evening, Tomioka-san’ a few weeks ago

Giyuu may or may not take purposeful detours if he knows he’ll cross her path. Even if he’s not going to talk to her, he at least gets to look at her. But he convinces himself that these detours aren’t taken on purpose—of course they aren’t. It’s ridiculous, after all, to change his routine all for the sake of catching one glimpse of this woman. Of course he wouldn’t waste his own time like that

Eventually yeah, he’ll end up talking to her somehow. It’s not that he necessarily needs to work up the courage; circumstances just need to align to give him the opportunity. He’s still got quite a bit of pride, so he’s not going to go out of his way to talk to her. He’s still trying to convince himself that he’s not as interested as he actually is

Honestly that’s probably why he’s willing to interact with her: he thinks that if he finally talks to her and doesn’t just gawk at her from afar that his silly little crush will lose its momentum. That’s why he’s not worried about indulging it just a little. He hopes that getting up close and personal will actually prove underwhelming and get rid of the crush all together

It backfires

It’s worse now that he’s actually talking to her and getting to know her because damn it... he really likes the sound of her voice, and she’s so interesting, and he likes it when she talks about herself, and ugh he really did it to himself 

She does the most talking tbh. At least, when they’re not just sitting together in silence; he does like the silence sometimes: merely idling beside her, enjoying her company. It’s peaceful

But yeah he doesn’t mind if she’s doing all the talking. Sometimes, truthfully, he’s not interested in everything she’s saying, but he likes to hear her talk, regardless

And he’s always got an ear for listening if she has any issues she wants to talk through. He always has advice for her

That advice is as blunt as it normally is; he won’t mollycoddle her no matter how fond he is of her. But it’s advice, nevertheless. He wants to help where he can

He’s tenacious about keeping his physical distance—he’s not a fan of PDA and especially tries to keep his hands to himself when it comes to this woman, because sometimes he has a very strong urge to indulge something as simple as brushing shoulders with her 

Once he’s a bit more comfortable, his touches are bolder, but still very refined—like gently pulling a fallen leaf out of her hair, patting dirt off her sleeve, brushing an eyelash off her cheek 

(That last one is done very innocently, but after he realizes what he’s done, he may or may not blush because oh wow that was really intimate) 

Behind the scenes, he does favors for her that she may never even know about. But he’s fine with that

But soon enough his favors are barefaced

Say there are some pretty worrisome demon sightings in the area. Tomioka gives her some sort of jewelry or maybe... a hair pin, made with properties of Wisteria

He says it’s for her protection, and holds fast to that mentality even in his own head because no, of course it’s not a “gift”, it’s simply for her own good. It’s for her protection ok it’s just a rational thing. He encourages everyone to take precautions when it comes to demons even though everyone does not receive gifts from him for protection

To which she may reply (if they’re comfortable enough to tease each other) that she’s grateful, but what’s a little trinket compared to him? Her own personal, bonafide demon slayer?

He does get a little kick out of that, and tells her with a small smile that he wants to make sure she’s safe even when he’s not around

(He does not realize how gushy that sounds until he’s walking home later that night. He comes to a halt, reminiscences on the encounter, and is like... omg did I really say that?)

Akaza type of s/o is someone who's kind and gentle. Having a person or even a demon show akaza genuine kindness wasn't always on his side even as a human, so he seeks out someone who can give him genuine kindness and have a gentle approach and not a hostile one.

Akaza's love language is acts of service. He wants to take care of his s/o, protect them, and be there for them mentally and physically. A love language he'd want in his s/o are words of affirmation

Akaza loves to be told he's appreciated for the things he does, praised and even admired for what he does.

Akaza falls for his s/o because he admires their strength. Man or woman doesn't matter, He hates weak humans and finds them better off dead and would gladly do it himself but when meeting his s/o for the first time in a fight they never gave up and saying powerful words like "my weakness of being human is what makes you strong"

Akaza can't help but love a strong human, and finding an s/o is strong is definitely the way to make him catch his heart

Douma

Douma hasn't really given it much thought on what he likes in his s/o personality, but one thing douma happens to get in everyone around him is someone who's more straightforward and direct.

Douma maybe all jokes and giggles and not seem to have a care in the world but he likes to have a person in his life who can clarify mistakes and even call out his own even if it makes him upset.

Doumas love language is gift giving. He'll listen to the things his s/o likes and will buy or even try to craft the things his s/o likes and give gifts at random. A love language he'd like in his s/o is someone who can communicate which can fall under quality time

Douma deep down needs a person to sit down and understand him even if his words and mindset can be unusual but even so he wants to know there's someone out there who can love douma for his flaws of having a lack of understanding feelings

Douma falls for his s/o because of how understanding they can be and can solve out a problem logically without bashing him or judging him.

Kokushibo

Kokushibo's type of s/o is someone like him, but also have a humorish side to them. Someone who is mature and relaxed but also doesn't mind when his s/o wants to tease or bother him

Kokushibo's love language is quality time. A love language he'd want in his s/o would be physical touch

Kokushibo is a quiet man. He only speaks unless spoken to, most of kokushibo and his s/o times together, whether they're both on night walks or even sitting in the same room, no talking always needs to be involved, just kokushibo having his s/o by his side holding his hand or hugging him is enough

Kokushibo falls for his s/o because they genuinely enjoy his company. Despite him being the strongest upper moon even he needs someone to stay by his side and not find him boring or toss him aside for someone eles

Muzan

Muzan's type of s/o is someone who is submissive. Someone who follows what he says down to the letter and not question any of his decisions. Muzan's tone of voice wouldn't change with his s/o and speak to them like how speaks to others but would sometimes have a more gentle approach, depending on the situation

Muzan would want an s/o whose love language is expression of affection and love. He expects to be loved and admired from his s/o and have his s/o show how their love for him also comes with loyalty. Muzan loves when his s/o kisses his hand when he's achieved something, hugs when you complement how healthy and strong he looks every day

Muzan's love language is physical touch. As scary and dominant as he can be, when it's time for him to lay down or even sleep, he wants to have his s/o in his arms. If he's having a meeting with his upper ranks, he won't allow his s/o leave but instead sit his s/o on his lap with his hand on his s/o waist while having the meeting.

Nakime's type of s/o is someone who is artistic and passionate about it. Nakime isn't picking with arts, but her s/o just has to be into some kinda arts like herself to bond over it

Nakime's love language is quality time, and she'd want an s/o whose love language also loves quality time. She would want someone to listen to her biwa playing and acknowledge her for her musical skills rather than her blood demon art for just being useful to muzan.

Game Plan (Kenma Kozume)

Gamer soulmates do exist, huh. 

Pairing: Kenma Kozume x female gamer reader  Type: fluff, soulmate au Before read notes: The game referenced here is Epic Seven, sorry if you are confused but I think you get the idea... right?

You sighed. You didn't know what to do. It was gym class, the last class of the day. It was your least favorite class. They were doing volleyball, and you knew just about nothing about it, even though you had been forced to play it for years. You figured you'd forgotten how to play.

After changing into your gym uniform, you started to think about what you were going to do after school. It was a Friday, meaning that it was the weekend as soon as school ended. You were going to play games, since that's what you usually do. Roana's coming out today, huh. I guess I'm going to pull. She seems good. I have enough to pity in skystone, and I've got about 400 bookmarks. So, 80 summons without using skystones, and  3,800 skystones'll be used up if I do end up pitying. If  I just do the daily missions, it'll take me around probably 80 days to get that back, not including the daily sign in prizes and the Re:Birth event, if I get stuff from that- (1)

"(y/n)! (y/n)! (y/n)!" you heard a voice call you. Looking up, probably after the third time you were called, you asked, "What's up?"

"Geez, your head's in the clouds! What'cha thinking about?" you best friend, (b/f/n),

"Hmm.... well, just what I was going to do later," you replied, knowing that (b/f/n) could see through you like just-polished (does that makes sense?) glass.

"What were you going-" (b/f/n) was interrupted by the teacher, who had started the class. She sorted the class into 4 groups, with 2 games going on at a time. You and (b/f/n) were separated, so you couldn't talk during class. You mostly just stood there and walked around, looking like you were trying. During your second game, your team and (b/f/n)'s teams played each other. (b/f/n) was really into it and made you participate for once.

When class was over, you went to the locker room to change, and as you were about to put your shirt on, (b/f/n) did a jump scare on you, which made you jump.

"What the heck, (b/f/n)?" You always hated jump scares, especially from (b/f/n), because her hands were always cold. Cold hands on bare skin (A/N: it sounds weird, but you're in the locker room. changing.) is always the worst.

"Heh! Got'cha again!" (b/f/n) laughed. You sighed. You finished changing and left the locker room. You started to think about your game plan for Epic Seven. (A/N: it's an amazing game, check it out!) You weren't too far into the game, and you'd just entered midgame by being able to auto Wyvern 11 and want to focus on building a golem team. You had already built and 6-starred Cermia, your nuker, and wanted to build Cecilia, your tank and defense breaker. (2) You were thinking about using either speed/hit sets or health/def/hit sets, when (b/f/n) scared you again.

"Can you just stop that already?" you asked (b/f/n), getting annoyed from her jump scares.

"Y'know, (y/n)..." (b/f/n) started.

"Yes?" you answered, curious to what she was going to say.

"Why don't we go to the mall later?" You were surprised that you didn't expect (b/f/n) to say that. It seemed very (b/f/n) though.

"Since when have I willingly gone to the mall?" you asked, not wanting to go.

"I heard there's a new anime store there~~" (b/f/n) tried to convince you. That was the reason you were going to go. You and (b/f/n) bonded over anime years ago, and you always watched every season's most popular anime. (3) So even though you spent more time playing games than watching anime, you were always on top of the trends and still loved it.

"Okay, I'll go," you answered, trying to hide the fact that you were actually excited.

Riiiiiing! Riiiiiing! The bell rang, meaning that the school day was over and you were finally free. You and (b/f/n) walked towards your lockers together, since they were right next to each other. You listened to her talk about fashion and other things like that. She'd gotten into that recently and was all over it.

Both of you finished gathering the stuff you needed over the weekend, and while at your lockers, you and (b/f/n) had decided to drop off your backpacks at (b/f/n)'s house, so that you could talk the whole day. You don't talk too much, but (b/f/n) does, and you don't mind her talking much.

(b/f/n) wanted to go to the clothing shops first. She had to go to some family reunion soon, so she had to buy something fancy. You accepted, knowing that (b/f/n) wouldn't forget about the anime store, because ever since she discovered Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer,  she's been all over it too, and you were 99% sure that new anime store would have Kimetsu no Yaiba merch.

You didn't know much about fashion, so (b/f/n) picked out the clothes for herself and asked you for a second opinion. While she was picking out clothes and trying them on, you had nothing to do, so you thought about the build you were going for. (A/N: for Cecilia, referenced earlier in the chapter) Your phone was almost dead, and you wanted to save the remaining battery in case your parents called or something. So, you borrowed (b/f/n)'s pen, which she carried everywhere for a reason you haven't been able to figure out for years, and started to write out your plan for building Cecilia.

"Hm?" Kenma noticed some pen marks on his skin all of a sudden. He and Kuroo were walking to practice when he noticed it.

"What? Did you notice something from your soulmate? ~~ Hmm~~~?" Kuroo teased him, knowing what was up.

"Mhm. She wrote something."

"Hmmm? Let me see," Kuroo leaned over to see what was being written.

Cecilia-

- Speed/hit set

- main stats: Effectiveness%, Def%, health%

- substats: effectiveness, def, health, eff. resist

"Hmmm... seems like game stats?" Kuroo figured. Kenma shook his head.

"Character build?" Kenma nodded, meaning that Kuroo's second guess was right.

"You know which game?"

"Epic Seven, I guess."

"Heh~~? So you do know. Maybe gamer soulmates do exist~~" Kenma didn't reply. The two walked into the court, and they began their daily volleyball training. Kenma noticed that there was something new written in few minute intervals. (A/n: does that make sense?) They had a common theme: Epic Seven builds. First was Cecilia, then Tamarinne, then Ravi, and so on.

"Woah! Your soulmate writes their skin?! Cool! Mine doesn't! I've tried lots of times, and they wouldn't respond!" Lev noticed what (y/n) was writing.

"I think they're for herself," Kenma muttered.

                                                                   *

"Wait, (f/n)!" (b/f/n) called out. You turned around. "Hm?"

"You're walking too fast! I can't keep up!"

"You're just slow."

"Oh, come on!" (b/f/n) had to run to catch up with you. As you entered the store, one thing caught your eye. It was an Epic Seven Poster, which you went straight to.

       (b/f/n) followed straight behind, and asked what this was about.

"It's an Epic Seven poster. I don't know who made it, but I'm buying it. It has Krau, Ludwig, Aither, Vildred, Destina, Yuna, Ras, Arky, Mercedes, Karin, Iseria, and best girl Angelica in it. It's totally worth." You explained, putting on a smirk and feeling like you're the smartest around.

"Oh, you really like this game," (b/f/n) said.

"Yeah, you didn't know? All this time?" you said back, trying to get at her for those jump scares.

"I just didn't know you liked it this much. Maybe I'll give it a try."

"Wait... really?!"

"Uh, yeah."

"We're going back to your house and getting you this game once I'm done here."

"Once WE'RE done here."

"Yes, once WE'RE done here. Yes, yes."

The two of you walked around, excitedly looking at the different merch they had there. You ended up buying lots of stuff, since you're a collector and love collecting things. Once the both of you got to (b/f/n)'s house, you took her phone out of her hands and downloaded Epic Seven. You charged yours while you were at it, and you gave it back to her once you got back and it loaded. Even with the tutorial, you explained everything in detail, and (b/f/n) knew she couldn't stop you, so she just listened and figured it would make understanding the game easier.

You had tons of notes on your hand at this point, so you figured you might as well write (b/f/n)'s username on there as well. You wrote it, along with her discord server, since (b/f/n) had gotten it recently and invited you to her server.

Kuroo was staying over at Kenma's for a sleepover, and they were playing Smash Ultimate. (A/n: if you don't know what this game is, you live under a rock.) Then, Kuroo noticed some more notes on Kenma's hands.

"There's more."

"Hm?"

"Your soulmate wrote more. Let me see~." Kenma lifted his hand from the controller for once, and Kuroo spotted a discord server and an Epic Seven username.

"Ooh, maybe they want you to join a server?"

"No way. It's probably for herself again. There wouldn't be any need to tell me."

"Let's join it! I want to see who's in it. Your soulmate'll be there!"

"I don't really care."

"I know you'll join it later 'cause you're curious."

"I don't really care."

"Well, I'm joining it."

"It's rude to just join other people's servers without their permission-"

"Whoever gets the link is welcome~~" Kenma sighed. He couldn't stop Kuroo at this point.

Top 10 Anime of the Decade (incl. Winter Anime 2020)

Minna-san, akemashiteomedetōgozaimasu (Happy New Year)! It’s been awhile...sorry T^T. Life has been absolutely INSANE since the last time I posted, which was...omg September. OwO I honestly did not watch a lot of anime because real life has been so crazy. BUT that doesn’t mean I didn’t watch ANY anime. 

I was originally just going to post my annual Winter Anime Season post but after watching Joey: The Anime Man’s “The ULTIMATE Top 10 Anime of the Decade List” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqY25glHPxE) I wanted to look back and reflect on some of my favorite anime of the decade and share them with you guys as well. Like Joey I will also include some honorable mentions in the list. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite anime from this decade:

2010

Durarara!!

This was one of the first few shows that @perfectlynorm first recommended for me to watch when he and I reconnected back in 2015. I didn’t watch this show back when it first aired, but I really wish I did. The storytelling really stood out to me and I loved how all of the characters’ stories interconnected with each other. The seasons that came out later in 2015-2016 were great as well, but this first season was by far the best. 

Honorable Mentions:

- Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! (still one of the best romance/comedy anime to this day...I NEED A SEASON 2!!!)

- Shugo Chara (technically it aired years before 2010 but it’s one of the first few shows I got into during that year)

- Kimi ni Todoke (a slow burner but it’s still one of the few romance anime I go back to from time to time)

2011

Fate/Zero

Again, this is another show that @perfectlynorm recommended back when I really started to become the filthy weeb that I still am. This was also the first show that introduced me to the greatness of ufotable’s animation. Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works was amazing, but this show really blew my mind. The animation, the story, and the characters were top tier amongst the shows I watched at the time. This is a show I could recommend to new anime fans. 

Honorable Mentions:

- Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 1000% (this show unlocked my love for idol anime, a very memorable part of my teenage years)

- Sekaiichi Hatsukoi (still one of the best Boys Love/Yaoi anime I’ve ever watched...still waiting for the day he officially falls in love with him ugh)

- No.6 (another @perfectlynorm​ recommendation...that ending still hurts T^T)

2012

Kuroko no Basket

One of my male high school friends recommended this to me...I wonder if he new that he was cursing me at the time. This show was my introduction to the sports genre in anime. To this day, this show is still one of my favorite sports anime. Yes, looking back on it now parts of this show are extremely unrealistic and is mainly loved by fujoshis, but if I were to introduce any new anime fan to the sports genre, this would be the first show on my recommendation list.

- Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic (I started this show for the voice actors, I stayed for the story and characters, 10/10 would watch again)

- Sukitte Ii na yo. (another great romance anime that really builds the relationship between the two main couple...without holding out the kiss until the last episode)

- Kamisama Hajimemashita (loved the anime and the manga...I was sad to see it end and that the anime was rushed, but it’s another romance anime I could watch again)

2013

Attack on Titan

Oh wow, @perfectlynorm​ recommendation lol. At the time, I would not have watched this on my own free will since I was (still am) weak to blood and gore. However, when I first watched this...I pretty much binged the entire first season within a week. I still remember the thrill and heart-pounding excitement I felt from watching each episode. I still have a lot of episodes to catch up on before the FINAL season (omg) comes out next fall, but I am excited nonetheless.

- Free! (ugh the fujoshi bait was so real in this show, but I LOVED it)

- Kuroko no Basket 2 (I was soooo hyped when I was watching this show, even while I would wait for each new episode during my Saturday ballet classes)

2014

Free!: Eternal Summer

At this time of my life, I just graduated from high school and was about to start the next big chapter of my life: college. This show really spoke to me back then because, like the characters, I was scared and uneasy for what happens after high school. I especially related to Haru’s uncertainty for the future and unwillingness to change. But as I followed his journey throughout the season I eventually felt ready to take the next step towards my future along with him. 

Honorable Mentions:

- Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (I DIED while watching this show, it provided so many laughs that I would recommend this to anyone)

- Akatsuki no Yona (love, love, love Yona and her harem of strong ikemen...I still feel proud that @lunastories​ absolutely FELL for this show)

Kuroko no Basket 3

It was very difficult to choose a favorite anime for this year, but when I thought about what show I felt the most emotions from start to finish, I picked the final season of KnB. I was reading the manga while it was still being serialized so nothing in the show came as a surprise plot-wise, but to watch this show from the very beginning to the very end made me very emotional...until Last Game became a thing (god it still hurts T^T). 

Honorable Mentions:

- Ore Monogatari! (this has to be my FAVORITE romance anime, it broke so many romance anime stereotypes and i could watch it again and again)

- Haikyuu!! 2 (it’s haikyuu, nuff said)

- One Punch Man (still haven’t watched season 2, but omg I LOVED season 1, I still remember how much my friends and I laughed for each episode)

2016

Yuri!!! on Ice

*deep breaths* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ok. This show, as embarrassing as it is to admit, MADE 2016 for me. Like so many fujoshis and fudanshis, I ate this show up and awaited week after week for each new episode to air. I know there are so many criticisms about this show, but f**k the haters. For me, and for others, this show changed what anime could do: normalize a same sex couple without fetishizing it. 

Honorable Mentions:

- ERASED (a GREAT mystery anime, that brings a lot of feels and thrills 10/10)

- Boku no Hero Academia (omg loved it, scroll down for more of my thoughts about this show)

- Kiss Him, Not Me! (this is the anime for fujoshis, watch if you are or think you are one, trust me)

2017

Boku no Hero Academia 2

I picked up the first season of this series before the summer 2017 anime season because of all the hype about it, and omg I was so excited for the second season. I eventually got all of my anime friends to watch it and they got so into it that we would do our first group cosplay together for the show at AX a year later. This show really made 2017 for me and I am very happy it is still so loved to this day...now I just need to start season 4 hehehe. 

Honorable Mentions:

- Hitorijime My Hero (one of my fav Boys Love/Yaoi anime cuz the main couple does not bang for every episode and actually TALK lol)

- Tsuki ga Kirei (a romance anime that i think accurately portrays an awkward, but sweet middle school romance)

- Recovery of an MMO Junkie (another fav romance anime, the main couple are absolute cinnamon rolls please please watch it)

2018

Banana Fish

The ending of this show still breaks my heart, but this show was a huge part of 2018 for me. At first, the show’s brutal and violent themes startled me and prevented me from watching it when it first aired, but when @perfectlynorm​ convinced @passionateflame​ and I to watch this after AX 2018, I was blessed and cursed at the same time. Ash and Eiji’s strong emotional connection was what warmed and broke my heart at the same time. Rest in peace...my heart.

Honorable Mentions:

- IDOLISH7 (an idol anime that beats UtaPri to death...excited for season 2 in 2020!!!)

- Gakuen Babysitters (not only gives me endless amounts of feels and warm fuzzies, but also reminds me why i love working with kids)

- Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (THE show for otaku)

2019

Fruits Basket

Although 2019 was probably the year I watched the least amount of anime, Fruits Basket was my favorite anime of the year. It was hard to pick my favorite and to narrow down the honorable mentions, but this anime was my most anticipated show of the year. I had high expectations going into it since the original anime was a huge part of my teen years, and I was definitely not disappointed. I’m so excited for the upcoming second season in 2020!!!

Honorable Mentions:

(Edit: ok I cheated by adding 4 but all of these shows were AWESOME!)

- Dororo (one of the great surprises of 2019, 10/10 would watch again)

- Demon Slayer (jumped on the bandwagon after AX and OMG I’m so glad I did)

- Dr. Stone (SURPRISE another @perfectlynorm​ recommendation...LOVED IT)

- Beastars (...I’m not a furry...but Legosi is best boy)

YES!!! My crow babies are back after a FOUR YEAR hiatus!!!

AND that concludes my top 10 anime of the decade list. I do not think my taste in anime has changed too much over the years, but within this past year I have come to be genuinely and pleasantly surprised over anime that I never would have picked up 10 years ago. So I guess I want to approach anime with a more open mind in 2020. 

I only plan to watch Haikyuu for this winter season because I am going to be busy with student teaching and finishing off my last semester in the teacher credential program at my school. But things might change...

Black Clover chapter 232 reaction and spoilers

"I haven't fought nearly enough yet. Hey, Gaja! Fight me!" I bet Luck’s been even more obsessed with fighting since realizing he can’t go up against that Spade guy six months ago.

I want to meet Floga the Fire Spirit. Maybe we’ll get that story if the anime goes into a filler arc.

lol Asta and Leopold are both on an adrenaline high and want in on this fight and then Loropechika is like “Me too!” and Noelle is just standing there like “You crazy crazy people wtf”

So, a few days back I got spoiled for a plot point I haven’t gotten to in this chapter yet, which I’m trying not to talk about before I see it in context. However, seeing Asta boogieboard away with anti-magic makes it very hard for me not to go into some long ramble about Yuno, Asta, and their relationship to one another narratively, but I’ll hold that thought for now.

That said, I’m still not sure what to make of Asta using Demon Slayer like a boogieboard. Also not sure how I feel about it either, but I do like at least it shows Yami’s positive influence on Asta if nothing else.

I could have gone my whole life without the bath scene, but it’s Jump so here we are. Wrrry, Tabata, omg

I have been in Noelle’s position before which is why I was a speed demon when it came to changing and gym class, but this is pervier than my experiences. It’s not fun. Kids need to learn that just because you’re curious doesn’t mean you get to put hands on people.

Earlier I was like “Why is it an emergency if it’s just Charmy? But yeah, I can understand. It does make me curious about the finer points of Charmy’s quirk and if this in the end is no big deal because she’ll convert it later kind of like that one lady in the final arc of Bleach who worked her fat off by cooking up a feast for healing.

Okay so I saw a post about Yuno being promoted to vice captain a couple days ago and wrote a rambly ramble to empty my brain a bit or I knew I’d be over-thinking it in lieu of reading it. Now that I see it in context, there’s not much more to really go on, but Asta’s boogieboarding added some thoughts, so here we go~

Yuno becoming vice captain before Asta was inevitable, however, it seems kind of early in the story for it. I can kind of see why because, as others have pointed out already, he was one of the few in the Golden Dawn to escape full possession, so he has less to prove and less trust to regain than others. It also makes me curious if Vangeance is still captain or if someone else became captain and in turn nominated Yuno to vice captain. It would make sense, after all, since Vangeance facilitated a lot of what went on that both he and the vice captain of the Golden Dawn were both removed from their positions.

As I pointed out in the ramble though, I am still curious what exactly this means for Yuno, because he and Asta frequently move in a kind of complementary way narratively to one another, which is why we see this visually represented in a lot of ending themes for the anime. With Asta gaining the power of flight and a stronger, bigger body, it does kind of make sense that Yuno would get some kind of promotion so then he’s still just a step ahead of Asta. It also makes me curious still if we’re going to see Yuno struggle with this new position so he can grow and mature as a character. Being vice captain, after all, is going to force him out of his introverted, aloof comfort zone, so if this is a means towards character growth then I hope we get to see interesting things.

That said, it’s interesting that both Yuno and Noelle are having there are you who you think you are subplots in the same sub-arc. While Noelle wants to find and defeat the demon that both killed her mother and preserved her life, now Yuno is going to be faced with whatever the truth is to his amulet and being given up for adoption. Both of these plots should be means to help both characters grow and change for good or bad and also mature as well. It’s also going to be interesting to see how Yuno’s necklace which looks so much like those elven rune stones might be connected to demonic activity since this plot point is coming up in the major devil exploration arc, which I assume will comprise of several sub-arcs like how the elves were a giant arc that lasted several sub-arcs previously.

I also like how by having Yuno’s past catch up to him and Noelle go on a quest to understand her own birth better, we’re bringing in things about Asta to explore through them, inter-connecting all three of them together. If Asta did come from the same place as Yuno (given the anime’s choice to put them in matching embroidered nightgowns) then what insight we get into Yuno might in turn shed some small insight into Asta. Likewise as we learn more about Megicula, find him, and confront him, we will learn more about devils and Asta might gain some insight into the dangerous relationship he’s forming with his own devil.

It also wouldn’t surprise me, as the story progresses, if we see Yuno, Asta, and Noelle, become a kind of trio, which might be part of why Yuno and Noelle were on the same team during the Royal Knight Selection Exam. But that’s getting ahead of things so it’s too soon to say if something like this might occur.

I’m still not sure how I feel about some of what’s unfolding as this Heart Kindgom/Spade Invasion arc thingy progresses. I am still concerned that as we lose Asta’s underdog status, we lose something from the narrative. However, Asta can’t really become completely removed from being an underdog because at the end of the day his power is borrowed and I still think he’s eventually going to have to give up his grimoire at some point. Perhaps that’s why he’s so super-powered now. If it’s structured like a fortune play then we meet Asta at a low point, he achieves a great high point, and then he’ll end up as low if not lower than he started. However, that’s not to say the story stops there because he will likely rally and overcoming the loss of his grimoire if the story does that that track. Although I could see why it might not go that way as well. We’ll see how things go.
