Oh, words can not describe how happy I am that not only did you send me an ask, but you chose my favorite lil guy to whump. Kage has become my main character over the years, and I really don't know how he did that lmfao. There's just something about angsty, broody, grungy guys I guess lmfao.

Anygay, thank you so much for sending in an ask! Onto the questions! (OUGH these are good ones!)

1: How do you kidnap/capture your OC?

That depends, because Kage already has history with someone. Lily to be exact-- or August, as he knows her. In the event of her kidnapping him (again), it would go over surprisingly smoothly, with an uncharacteristic lack of struggle and resistance from him.

What would likely happen is that one day, while he's alone, Lily would show up at the penthouse he lives in, and knowing that he doesn't remember what she's done to him, she would ask if he wants to take a walk while they catch up. While they take the elevator down, Lily will make her move, restraining Kage's arms behind his back, and using the jacket he usually wears to cover up her work. She'd threaten tell him not to act out, to which he'd comply, as he starts getting a weird uncanny feeling about all of this. Once he's in the car, he'd get blindfolded, and off they'll go! (And then some of his memories will resurface and trigger a panic attack! :D!)

2: Are they defiant? Scared? Stoic?

It depends on who's doing the torturing, for the most part. But, assuming it's Lily, Kage would be mostly confused and scared. He'd try to hide this by acting stoic and maybe even a little defiant on occasion, but it wouldn't take much to put him back in his place if need be. Thankfully, to his benefit, Lily doesn't mind a little bit of pushback. In fact, she quite enjoys it.

If it were somebody else, he'd be more bold in his defiance. Verbally berating his captor(s), spitting on them, attempting to land a blow on them, constant attempts to escape, all the way down to things as simple as a smug look after a session. Of course, this is all still done to mask his fear. How long that mask will last, and how effective it is, is another question for another day.

3: What kind of torture methods would you use against them?

Pin him to the wall in an empty room, and start filling it with water. Grab a handful of his hair, and dunk him into a tub of water. Shove him down, and don't let him back up until he's limp.

I've also had a scenario where he's trapped in a room that gradually gets colder and colder over time. He thinks it's just normal isolation at first, until he notices that it's "a little chilly in here". And it doesn't stop; it just keeps getting colder and colder until there is frost lining the walls, and he is nothing but a pathetic, shivering little ball on the ground.

Sickness is also a super fun one with him. Just letting him get worse and worse. Toying with his life; letting him go to the brink of death, only to bring him back just enough to regain awareness, and then let him get worse all over again. (Lily fucked him up so badly with this one that he now avidly denies being sick whenever he's experiencing even the slightest symptoms of anything. He "doesn't get sick". Haha, whoosies!)

5: What do they do if you torture a loved one in front of them?

So I'm going to assume that this is a scenario where he's restrained and can't get to the person who's hurting his loved ones, while the torture is happening right in front of him. If that's the case, he's going guard dog feral. Especially if the loved one in question is Echo or his fiance. I'm talking shouting and screaming incoherent obscenities until he's spitting out blood, thrashing against restraints with reckless abandon and likely hurting himself in the process, growing, hissing, biting, pure, unbridled rage.

Once they are both out, their tormentor will have a target on their back. Kage will make it his sole mission to hunt them down and enact revenge. An eye for an eye. It's only fair.

7: Do they have a team? If so, supposed they were caught too. Do they protect their team from any torture or no?

Kage does have a support network of close friends who he is pretty loyal to, and cares about a lot. If any of them were to get captured alongside him, whether it be somebody close like Damien or Echo, or a friend like Sebastien or Mist, or even somebody who he doesn't seem to care for (or has very valid reasons not to care for them) like Onyx or even Ember, he would agree to take the blow for them if it meant their safety.

This month’s post is also based on photos taken at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (KAG) in Washington, DC.

The first one is my drawing of a dragonfly and then there is the photo of it that I used.  

As I was walking through KAG I saw what i thought was a conch.  And when I walked around I saw that it was actually a dried up lily pad.  The flowers are beautiful.  And then there was the turtle.  The frogs moved too quick for me to get a photo fo them.

It was a normal day. Get up, school, homework, bed. And that's exactly where Y/N was: leaning with her back against the end of Sirius' bed while reading a book, but forgetting to actually read it. Sirius, kagging boredly beside her and playing with the curtains of his bed, kept looking up at Y/N expectantly, sighed and turned back to the other Marauders. Well, the ones who were still awake.

Peter had long since fallen asleep and was snoring away, Remus was also reading, but his eyes were already falling shut from time to time. James was playing with his Snitch while humming some Muggle song terribly to himself, whereupon Sirius rolled his eyes once more and looked around the room for something else to do or a bevwegun that was a bit more interesting than... that.

He glanced up and eyed the bedstead. The dark wooden planks looked dirty and dusty, but then something caught his eye as he looked at the end of the bed where his and Y/N's feet were....

"SPIN!" he screeched and jumped up from the bed. Peter started up, Remus was jolted awake, James started pacing up and down the room histrerically and Y/N also fled onto Remus bed.

“Ahhhh Oh my god how is that spider killing spray?!' (a/n: is there such a thing? Honestly...is there?) squeaked James, who was running up and down from the bathroom, throwing pillows and clothes into the air.

"Who cares Prongs, KILL IT!" cried Sirius hysterically, who had fled to the other corner of the room.

"Y/N, get off my bed! You're SPIN-INFECTED!" cried Remus, pushing the perplexed Y/N off his bed.

"Ouch!" she cursed.

"Did you hurt my girl, Moony?" Sirius now snapped at Remus too, trying to sound impressive but still speaking in his squeaky I'm scared voice

“It doesn't matter now!'’Y/N, who had gotten up again and crawled behind Remus' bed this time, shouted, "KILL HER, POTTER!”

All attention was now on James, who slowly made his way towards the bed, rubber gloves on and a t-shirt in front of his face. Just before the bed he stopped-.

"I can't do this!”

"No! You can do it! Just pick it up and throw it out the window, everything will be fine!" Y/N tried to calm James down and he nodded.

“You can do it, James. You're great. It's just a spider. Think of Lily. You can't die today, you'll be fine. You're amazing!"' Sirius kept shouting at him as motivation and James nodded, spreading his arms to take the spider in his hands.

The spider crawled onto his inner palm and James hurried to the still closed window.

"OPEN THE WINDOW! OPEN THE WINDOW!" he screeched, but it was too late....

"SPIN ON THE FLOOR, SPIN ON THE FLOOR!" screamed Remus and clung to Peter.

"AHHHHHH, KILL THEM PRONGS!‘‘

"KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF ME, MONNY!‘‘

It was a complete mess. Remus and Sirius were screaming, James took refuge on Sirius' bed, Y/N and Peter jumped on top of Sirius and Remus to "protect" themselves.

49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

I was asked this by Fedonciadale, but I’ll try to go more into detail if I can.

I really want to say Newsies was my first intro to fanfiction. Usually stories posted onto individual geocities fansites. A lot of stories of OC insert “girl Newsies” who interacted with their favorite newsboys from the movie.

I distinctly remember one that my sister and I printed out onto paper (it was like a whopping 200+ pages) and passed around during a Christmas vacation. The OC got pregnant from her favorite Newsboy “Mush” and had twins I think. I can’t remember if she died in childbirth or not, tbh. Seems like that would be par for the course.

Harry Potter I found a lot on message forums at the time. Once again, a lot of OC self inserts of girl students going to Hogwarts. Mary Sues abound. I had big crushes on Tom Felton/Draco Malfoy and Sean Biggerstaff/Oliver Wood so a lot of stories involving those two.

Oddly enough, I’m completely blanking on individual stories. I think they all just blend together at some point or I’m remembering my own HP OC fics. Some more distinct memories are coming from fics I read later, I know. None of those early HP fics are standing out to me at all.

Lord of the Rings - man. Talk about a fandom that was in an identity crisis in the early 2000s. Lots of younger, newer fans like me writing self insert OCs because of the movies coming out, mixed in with all the OG book fans writing world heavy lore.

Standing out in my mind? There was a short “lemon” of Aragorn and Legolas getting it on in the forest. A lot time-travel self insert fics of girls being magically transported to the middle of the story. RPFs of fans having relationships with the actors. (One where a girl started dating Elijah Wood, got pregnant, there was an entire chapter of going to the abortion clinic. Or the one where the entire cast of LotR was put on a deserted island for a season of Survivor, and Elijah’s black mesh top was a Very Important Character.) Elf OCs being saved by the gang. (I remember one scene of Gimli checking to see if she was still breathing by using a sword to check for fog. My 11 year old mind was blown.) A lot of Elvish dialogue followed by < … > translations.

And I recall these with love. They might be bizarre to imagine reading now, but I devoured a lot of fanfic in those years. Anything I could get my hands on. Self insert OCs were my jam. Fics following the plot of the movies/books my butter. It might be a combination of how much I was reading and how young I was that they all just blend together now.

If we’re talking like “big fics” that I followed and remember fondly as big pivotal moments in my FanFiction life that I still remember the titles of, I’d have to fast forward to around 2003/2004/2005 with fics like “Piracy, Lust, then Love” by Ana the Romantic (a PotC fic) or “An Acorn and a Thimble” (a Peter Pan fic) or “Lust or Love” by Sarianelli (a Lily/James HP fic) , or “Tales from the House of the Moon” by Resmiranda (a Sess/Kag inuyasha fic).

I do remember saving a brand new POTC fic I saw on the “just published” page with only one chapter that was a parody/comedy crack fic that looked promising, and checking back in a few years later to find out that fic became one of the most popular on all of fanficfion.net. REPORT CARD:

reporting … a top match !

speaking just from star sign perspective, you and kageyama together are a great match-- capricorns & scorpios definitely are considered a power couple. but beyond that, your personalities will mesh! your sweet & kindhearted personality will rub off on kageyama. but, at the same time, your bluntness & honesty is also much appreciated by kageyama. after all, he doesn’t enjoy guessing games & reading between the lines.

kageyama is probably your best friend before becoming your boyfriend. and you two both go from the feelings of “you’re my friend” to the “oh wait, i feel like i want something more--” however, kags is lowkey dense when it comes to anything other than volleyball, so you prolly had to drop major hints or just confess to him first. you’d be his first girlfriend after all.

as a way of showing his affection, he will treat you to your favorite foods. it’s a well known fact kageyama is not the most romantic guy around, but he actually melts for the way your face lights up when he gives you that one particular food you’ve been craving. at this point, he doesn’t even have enough excuses as to why he’s giving you food out of the blue-- you just accept it. 

whenever you’re there at his volleyball games, kageyama gets really pumped up to show off his skills. while he isn’t the type to be so open that he’s dedicating every good play to you, he’ll often glance over at you to see if you’re watching & in that way, show that this one’s for you. if you ever mention it, he’ll definitely get flustered and call you a dummy for thinking that. but of course you know better given that he didn’t exactly deny what you said-

at long last, kageyama will try to get into the things that you like. since your support for him playing volleyball is always so prevalent, he tries to return the favor, going as far to begrudgingly ask his peers and friends about astrology, anime/manga, etc. the poor boy is pretty ignorant of those topics, but he tries to learn discretely about it . . . to impress you. in the end, he just opts to listening you talk about it & indulge in anime marathons with you. he takes note of your favorite characters for reference.

PROS OF RELATIONSHIP:

you two work hard to support each other in every endeavors & interests - as mentioned before! you guys are literally like each other’s fans, hyping each other up to do your best. even with the things you two aren’t the best at, for example kageyama & school, you help each other out while keeping things positive & beneficial. 

honesty is a major blessing in your relationship. in fact, you never have to worry about cheating or lying. you guys don’t lie to each other; it’s not a thing. whatever you have to say, it’s fair game to say aloud because you both know that your partner’s best interests are always top of the priority list. besides, kageyama doesn’t hide things anyway; it’s not in his character, and in reality, he may come off as too blunt. but in all fairness? you much prefer that, and since you can be blunt, too, communication is pretty straightforward.

the two of you get to be really comfortable around one another. you don’t have to put on airs or worry about something you’ve said. you two become each other’s safe space in a way. speaking freely or venting is something you two will always have with another, and you wouldn’t have to fret about being judged.

CONS OF RELATIONSHIP:

kageyama can get pretty jealous, and at times, he may not even realize it. he will just impulsively react as his instincts tell him to. his typical good protective qualities can morph into being overbearing and dominating, and you may have to address it if it gets a bit toxic. 

you two have pretty similar traits, such as being hotheaded & blunt, and while in some instances, it’s a good thing you two are similar as you two can relate on those grounds... it can be a bad thing if you two fight or clash in opinions. in those particular times, filtering your words is out the window & some harsh words will be regretfully exchanged. in all honesty, letting out steam is good but hurting each other in the process isn’t, so making up is definitely in order . . . it just may take a hot minute to get back to a sound mindset. 

given that kageyama is prolly new to relationships, he can be a bit inexperienced in the sense that he doesn’t pick up on certain cues. it’s imperative to note that he’s honest & straightforward, plus willing to learn . . . BUT ! at first, he’s bumbling. he won’t realize if he’s hurt your feelings or he’s brushing you aside, prioritizing volleyball over you. he won’t realize that his dry texting, with responses like “okay” or “k”, can be written off as he simply doesn’t care about you. it will take time and understanding for him to understand those factors of a relationship-

Did Inuyasha and Kagome keep in touch at all when he was sent underway the first time, or even the second time?

In fact...the first time around...he sent her flowers for her first day back at school, and she would message him on facebook.

Kagome opened the door to her apartment and sighed. She was not looking forward to that project, but it could have been worse. At least it was a project and a presentation. Tests were so cut and dry...at least she had a better chance of acing this. 

She hung her keys back up onto the key hook and took a photo, sending it to Inuyasha. 

‘Look! I’m using the key hook. Proud of me?’

She locked her phone and rolled her head and shoulders. 

“Hey!” Ayumi greeted. “How was class.”

“Good. Made a friend. His name is Will - seems pretty cool.”

“Ooooooh….Kagome has another boyfriend?” she teased, her eyes dancing in amusement. 

“Har har…” she replied, rolling her eyes and moving to the kitchen to grab some water. 

She immediately stopped. 

“Oh my God...Ayumi, did you get us flowers?” she asked, seeing a beautiful bouquet on the kitchen bar.

“Nope!” she giggled. 

“They’re beautiful,” she breathed, looking at the bouquet. It was filled with bright, warm colored roses in pinks and reds and orange yellows. There were also peruvian lilies in whites and yellows and purples...it was a bright, cheerful arrangement. “How did we get flowers?”

“Why don’t you read the card,” she sang, and Kagome raised her brow at her.

“What card?”

“It’s taped on the side of the vase.”

Kagome tilted her head and spun the vase around, looking for the card, and she felt her knees buckle a little. 

‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. 

I adore you, Darling. Have a great first day.

“He…”

“Yup.”

“I can’t…”

“You should.”

Kagome pulled a barstool out to sit down on. He sent her flowers…

“Kags, are you ok?” Ayumi asked, coming to stand by her.

“No,” she whispered, wrapping her hands around the base of the vase. He sent her flowers. He was on the other side of the planet, with almost no reception and the world’s shittiest wifi...but he had remembered she was starting classes today, and had sent her flowers. 

Her eyes began to burn and she closed them.

“Ayumi…” she whined, falling forward onto her arms. 

“Oh Kagome…” she cooed sympathetically. “These are happy flowers! Do you think he would want you to cry over them?”

“No,” she replied, her voice rough and muffled. “No one has ever sent me flowers before...And then when it happens for the first time, I can’t even say thank you. Not really. Because I can’t reach him. Because he’s God only knows where doing God only knows what…”

“I know,” Ayumi soothed. 

“I wish he were here. I miss him so much…”

“I know,” she repeated.

“Ayumi…”

“I know,” she repeated again. “He wouldn’t want you acting like this over them though. Do you think he sent them to you to make you cry?”

“No,” she whispered. 

“He just wanted to show you he supports you, and he’s cheering you on from the sidelines. Focus on that, ok?”

“Ok,” she agreed, smiling weakly.

“Come on. Let’s dry your cheeks, and take a photo. He’s going to want to see you with them. It will make him smile!”

Kagome was changing into a t-shirt and sleep shorts when her phone pinged with a messenger sound. It was nearing midnight and she had stayed up late working on her first class assignment. Coffee was going to be her friend tomorrow since she had work at nine, but she knew she would manage. 

She flipped her phone over to look at the message and almost dropped it. 

“Inuyasha,” she breathed, picking it back up.

He had written a simple, ‘I miss you too, Babe.’

She quickly unlocked her phone and started typing to him.

Fuck sleep. 

He was more important. She’d pull an all nighter if she had to. She didn’t care. 

‘I’m sorry I buried you under 1,000 messages,’ she wrote back. 

‘Don’t be - makes for some great reading material. Thanks for using the key hook. You’re easing my anxiety.’ 

‘So you made it all the way to the key hook?’

‘I made it all the way to the end.’

‘Oh boy...How long did that take you?’

‘Doesn’t matter. I liked it. Makes me feel like I’m still there with you. Keep doing it?’

‘Always.’

‘I really do miss you. I wish I could hold you.’

‘Touch you,’ he continued. 

‘Kiss you,’ he finished.

She grinned. 

‘Only kiss me?’

‘Higurashi! Behave yourself. I’m surrounded by men right now.’

‘I think I rather like that imagery...Are they all as good looking as you? Wait...don’t tell me. I’m going to pretend they are. You wouldn’t happen to be in the shower right now would you?’

‘This is me ignoring you now.’

She giggled. 

‘I wish I could hold you and kiss you too. I’m sorry I couldn’t kiss you goodbye,’ she replied, smiling wistfully. 

‘I can’t want to see you again and kiss you. Maybe in December?’ She continued. 

‘Are you still thinking of coming out my way?’ he asked. Was that a hint of hopefulness she detected?

‘Yup,’ she confirmed, opening her laptop and a new tab to search airfare. 

‘Just need to confirm with my grandparents that I can stay with them. I’ll be there for like, a month.’

He was silent for a minute, and she was wondering what was going through his head. It looked like he was still there. Finally, she saw the three wiggling dots that told her he was typing.

‘You can stay with me if they say no. Or even if they say yes.’

Her smile widened. 

‘Oh really? You think you can handle me there for that long?’

‘There’s nothing to handle, Darling. Seeing your smiling face everyday would be a joy and a privilege.’

‘Twist my arm why don’t you…’

‘You don’t have to,’ he immediately replied.

‘You’re right. I don’t. But I want to. Can I run some dates and times past you? Might as well book it now.’

‘I’d love that.’

They stayed on for as long as it took for her to book a flight before he told her he had to go. She climbed under the now warm covers of her bed and flipped her phone over. That ten minute conversation...she needed it.

She felt a bit more whole now.
