still thinking about... a prime defenders power swap based one-off/case fic thing. probably set vaguely early/mid s1 era*, probably caused somehow by le frog like every other oneshot. the practicality of swapping their powers is handwaved, its just some sci-fi magic bullshit

dakota gets william's ghost powers, vyncent gets dakota's super strength and speed, and william gets vyncent's class powers and the greats.

dakota gets so excited, bc williams powers are so cool! he probably immediately starts abusing the wisp form and giving william a heart attack about it. vyncent accidentally rips a door off the hinges trying to open it. william has a second heart attack when he hears a voice telling him to go to bed at 2 am when hes "alone".

but also like... the Key here is that the power swap does a freaky friday type thing where they also learn something abt one another-- both from lived experience and the entire thing causing them to have to sit down and talk to one another abt their powers.

william has to learn to give up control with vyncent's powers, since he literally Can Not Be In Control when one of the greats takes over- its kinda a Big Deal for him. not only that, but allows him to get to know the greats outside of vyncent as a whole. if you want a ghostknife angle, maybe theres some light shovel talk bc its funny. when they inevitable switch back, it helps him feel more safe w the wisp form-- or at least that ppl will be by his side if worst comes to worst. it also helps him better understand vyncent and the greats and Their relationship (much like how the 10 month gap did, but More So)

vyncent has to deal with everything being so much More due to the enhanced senses. (which is also then neat foreshadowing to dakota's sensory overload mechanic in s2, since that only occured after dakota spent a while in Not-A-City and vyncent grew up in a fantasy medieval setting). i want him to go to dakota to ask how to handle it, bc the fan in william's room is keeping him up at night and he's already broken 4 doors. dakota kinda shrugs and tries to counsel vyncent, giving him advice that dakota learned on his own. in that overly casual dakota way, he'd drop his Tragic Backstory(tm) too which throws vyncent bc he always thinks of dakota as so immature and out of touch, someone who hasnt Gone Thru shit and needs to grow up. so realizing just how much dakota has gone thru and Goes thru each day to deal with his own powers kinda changes his perspective (bc that scene of vyncent yelling at dakota.... yeah </3)

dakota is having a Whole Ball abt it, and despite how uncontrollable william's s1 powers can be he seemingly even has it under better control. but that doesnt stop william from asking him to tone it down or Stop, which dakota ignores until he realizes william is serious. he asks why and william gives him the whole tightrope explanation, that he's scared something is going to happen to him yeah but hes terrified somethings gonna happen to dakota. dakota makes a comment abt how even if it did, it would be okay! bc he wouldve been saving someone else, so its worth it. william blows up at him, asking what they would do-- what would happen to william's powers, what would we be without you? etc. it kinda bashes into dakota's head that he has something in his life to be around for, ppl who care about him. not only that, but it also makes some of william's fears Click for him. He still may think its worth the risk in certain scenarios still, but he understands why william is so hesitant-- bc he wouldnt want to lose william, and apparently there are ppl who wouldnt want to lose him either.

in short, they all get a bit of a different Thing out of it, like a different lesson/revelation-- william's is power based, vyncent's is relationship based, and dakota's a bit of both.

after they've all had long enough to learn their various Lessons and hijinx, some hand-wavey, also-probably-le-frog-caused thing happens to switch them back. BOOM, case fic/oneshot done.

*set in this time for simplicity? for one, no s1 finale means william's relationship w the wisp form is simpler to explore bc theres no additional trauma. post s1 is possible, im just lazy FJKFJFDSF. for two, i... did not work ashe into this while brainstorming </3 both for power swapping and for just Interacting w the crew, he would add another layer of possible development and convos. for three, i dont know how the s2 ep11 break thing will impact their power sets yet so.... excluded from the power swap </3

i also just think its something where it would cause a lot of convos they DO have in canon way earlier to achieve the outcome i want, which doesnt rlly work if they've already had those conversations (primarily looking at you, s1 finale convo).

oh nothing in a book has ever made me as angry as fucking pissed off as i am now about the end of chain of iron and i have a lot to say on it (i have more to say on the last few chapters of chain of iron than i did on the entirety of the folk of the air series)

ill start with being glad lucie was able to raise jesse but definite reylo vibes there and im ignoring the end of that so watch me ignore if lucie dies ill be like yea ya know shes just,,, somewhere else but i hated how many secrets she kept from fucking everyone i mean she didnt tell a single person the whole truth of anything shes got secrets on top of secrets and thats not good but hey matthews drinking isnt good either and no one but the lucie and cordelia ever really say anything about that so theres that and im not counting james’ you dont love anyone as much as you love that bottle or w/e he said bc that wasnt talking to him to try to help and get him to stop drinking that was just a hit bc they were fighting and i hate that i hate that they were fighting bc they wouldnt have been if it wasnt for that fucking bracelet and which has caused so many fucking problems that i could cry in indignation bc its not its not fucking fair james spent the last what three years of his life in a fog not being able to feel and not being able to notice his parabatai slowly spiraling into a drunken depression from something thats not his fault at all i mean yes it is his fault that his mother took the potion but it is not his fault that the baby died thats no ones fault but whoever sold him the potion and yea he shouldnt have bought it in the first place but he was kid and he thought that was the only way he could get the truth and its unfair its fucking unfair and alistair god alistair he knows what he did in school was wrong but he saw it as the only way and now hes trying to make up for it and apologise and be a better fucking person and thomas sees that and thomas loves him for that and alistair wont let himself be loved and its not fair and anna oh anna talk about not letting yourself be loved she put on such a good front she did but she shouldnt have ariadne loves her and wants to be with her fully with her but anna has to understand the stigma of that and why ariadne cant come out yet hell thats still a problem today but we wont get into that because anna clearly loves ariadne but shes too afraid of getting hurt again and frankly she should just go for it i mean so what if you get hurt again at least youll finally feel something because i know she feels nothing for all those other girls i know theyre just replacements for ariadne and it isnt fair and speaking of replacements fucking grace fuck grace but fucking grace just casually destroying james life listen i dont give a shit how she grew up i couldnt care less about how tatiana treated her and how scared she was of her because if shed just fucking helped then she wouldnt have to worry about a damn thing from tatiana i mean theres a number of things grace couldve done she couldve told the merry thieves everything and they couldve defeated belial like they are now and then no one would be around to help tatiana and grace couldve told anyone in the clave about all of tatianas shit and then they wouldnt have underestimated her and she wouldve been in a proper prison and thus unable to escape so damn easily and thus not fucking able to get to grace okay shes a fucking idiot and i hate her and i hate reading about her and im fucking disappointed in her for not taking the damn bracelet off okay i had very fucking low standards for her but i hoped she would take the bracelet off and at the very least i thought she could fucking not manipulate him further like god damn girl james is a much nicer and understanding person than i am and he would try to protect her from tatiana if he knew that grace was being threatened by her if grace took the bracelet off and told him the truth he would help her i fully believe that but since he had to find out on his own he was furious as he should be but i dont think he had to be nice to her when she showed up at the end there i mean i wouldve just yanked her in the house and started yelling at her right there fuck pretending his still under that enchantment fuck talking to her in private okay id chew her out in the entryway its not like cordelia doesnt need to know she fucking does and i think her finding out by overhearing james arguing with grace is actually a fantastic way to find out because she gets to hear everything all of what james feels and all of what grace did completely unfiltered not that james would try to hide it from her but hed definitely try to soften the blow and i just think she needs to hear the whole truth and AND i really fucking hate when characters overhear only part of something and assume the worst and run away its so common and i hate it so much and i hate how she ran to matthews because i knew it was going to happen and i knew matthew was in love with her and that it was already straining their bond because no one fucking realised that james was madly fucking in love with cordelia because of that fucking bracelet have i mentioned have i mentioned how much that bracelet pisses me off i dont think i have lets get into it so how james was unable to feel properly for three years and how his head was so foggy he was unable to think properly too and how because of that he missed matthew becoming a drunk and how the merry thieves look to james as their leader so if james isnt saying anything about it then there must not be anything to say and how james was already in love with cordelia before the bracelet and thats part of why grace couldnt control him and how he loved her for years how he was in love with her for years how no one knew this not even him because everyone thought he was in love with grace how cordelia was in love with him but thought he was in love with grace how cordelia got married to him knowing she was in love with him and thinking he was in love with someone else how she could tell he wanted her but thinking he just wanted her body and that he was still in love with grace how she’d rather have some of him than none of him at all how he picked out everything in their house with cordelia in mind how he remembered that she loves chess and she never thought he would how he learned a whole other language for her how he immediately checks on her after every battle how everyone, especially cordelia, just writes all this off as who knows what because he cant be in love with cordelia if hes in love with grace and hes obviously in love with grace how no one could ever notice there was something wrong because they were feeling the effects too how james was so in love with cordelia that that love unintentionally broke an enchantment made specifically for james by a Prince Of Hell one of the most powerful beings the entire species will ever meet and i think that covers the gracelet situation but i keep thinking of the scene where the bracelet cracks when grace first went to curzon street and kissed james and james’ mind literally thinking it was cordelia because who else would he be kissing and afterward grace saying ‘i dont know who you think you were kissing, james herondale, but it wasnt me’ and im like damn right bitch get fucked but back to cordelia running to matthews okay i know she didnt know matthew was in love with her so she wasnt doing anything wrong going to him but i kept thinking they were going to kiss or something because we all know matthews in love with her and there were a bunch of hints that cordelia might be attracted to matthew and she was upset about james and i just kept thinking something bad would happen and i was right but shit i didnt think id be like that i had no idea matthew was leaving for paris and even less of an idea that cordelia would join him and the thing is i cant even be mad i cant blame her i would probably do the same thing hell id probably ask to go with and im very proud of her for saying she’d go If matthew stops drinking i really appreicate that and i hope he gets better but the all those misses how james left the house only minutes after cordelia and arrived at matthews only minutes after they left and how he could see them at the train station could see them getting on the train and leaving and leaving him behind because his sister is missing and he shouldve ran and caught them and begged them to stay if not just to help find lucie because they both think of lucie as a sister and they absolutely wouldve stayed to help her and then there would be the chance for james to explain the gracelet situation and everything would be fine it would fine eventually and everything would be okay but NO and ive said a lot but i havent even mentioned cordelia being a paladin for fucking lilith yet where did that come from i was not expecting that ill tell ya see i thought it was odd that wayland the smith would still be alive and that it wasnt mentioned in any of the other books and i thought it was odd that some apparently god-like blacksmith would be wearing such an elegant jeweled necklace and i thought it was odd that magnus would be back from the spiral labyrinth for just a day and would be staying with hypatia instead of ya know his own place but shit id never have put it together as one person let alone lilith and i cant say it came out of nowhere because it said that edom used to be liliths so it would make sense that she would want belial gone so she could have it back but still that was unexpected but im not disappointed i mean im obviously upset that cordelia is now pledged to the mother of demons and feels like she cant even touch a weapon speaking of which what did she do with cortana where did she put it she said she dealt with it which makes me nervous but we know she couldnt have broken it or anything a) because i dont think she physically can and b) emma has cortana later but i think cordelia should keep cortana close since its the only thing that can mortally would belial and apparently he only needs one more before something happens im guessing before hes like gone gone so she definitely needs cortana and lilith wants her to kill belial so i think she should and if shes stuck as liliths paladin after that and never wants to touch a weapon again so be it but get rid of belial first ya know anyway i think there was something else i wanted to say but i cant remember so if you read all of this holy shit im sorry thats a lot i hope it was entertaining at least and i hope i didnt also get you pissed off

HISTORY:

was born in georgiaaaa georgiaaaa (phoebe bridgers voice holds my bang...) to a vry honest hard working man named george (omgggg he’s called GEORGE and he’s from GEORGIA? ahaaaaa fuckk ur jestinggg) nd a woman who did her best named pamela..... george worked on a construction site n pamela was a pharmacist..... their house was this small rickety white thing with a wrap around porch n a very rabid overgrown garden tht kind of looked like the earth ws trying to reclaim it bc nobody ever hd the time or motivation to mow the lawn.... there ws literally a piece of fold out furniture just entirely submerged by weeds n foliage

nyla ws always closest w their dad george..... he hd this way of looking at the world tht was seeing the best in all of it.... he took them on long walks where he talked abt how u have to respect the trees bc they’re breathing fr us n we’re breathing fr them..... he hd a strange whimsical sense of humour n a gnome alter ego called grundlebolt who always tickled them..... in a way this closeness created a distance between nyla n their mother but not so much that it ws rly a problem. just enough tht nyla sometimes waited until their mother ws out of eye n ear shot to tell their dad they loved him bc they didn’t wna make her sad >_>

(mental health, death & grief tw) pamela always struggled w her mental health but george ws great n understanding n knew how to help her thru this... nyla didn’t get it too greatly at a very young age bt they knew their mum got “the sads” sometimes (how their dad wld explain tht she needed to lay down in the quiet for a while or why she’d stood at the stove n let the dinner burn until the smoke detector went off without doing anything abt it). when nyla was 14 they got home one day to a police car in the driveway n came prancing in exuberantly as they always did. immediately hugged the legs of an officer bc this is hw they wld greet everyone they ever met. they only realised something was wrong when they let go n saw their mum sat at the table crying. essentially there ws an accident at the construction site george worked at n :/ yeah.

(jst mental health & grief tw now) this rly had an intense ripple effect on everyone tbh. pamela’s mental health deteriorated quite a lot without george there as her rock n nyla sort of had to step in as best they cld but it was....... hard. some days she ws better bt some days nyla had to sit her in the bath n stroke a wet sponge over her back bc they didn’t know how else to calm her down. nyla always had a very overactive imagination which george encouraged bt it ws like. losing him rly opened a window in nyla’s head n all rationality went floating out of it. their dreams seemed more real than being awake. fantasy wasn’t jst the way they coped bt it was the way they thought n the way they saw. everything on earth was alive. the trees n the clouds n the wall with a brick missing at the bottom of her road n especially their dad. their dad was alive in everything in nyla’s head. the sun shining extra bright in the morning was george. ponds were a veil they could dunk her head under and find george waiting on the other side. reality rly just pulled the plug n said bye tbh n they were ok w that <3

(abuse implied tw) their mum remarried too fast to a man named stephen n it was jst not a good arrangement. he was Not a nice man. i won’t go into this but home wasn’t a nice place for nyla any more n after a couple of yrs stephen wound up asking them to leave n their mum said nothing to contradict tht. there’s more to this bt long story short nyla left <3

(drugs tw) they couch surfed fr a while before settling living w their best friend. they got up to like... all sorts of trouble n grew up far too fast. nyla’s lack of sense n realism hd a habit of getting them into some sticky situations n these few yrs were a rollercoaster where they got by on the skin of their teeth. when they think of high skl they think of gravel and skinned knees and sucking sherbet dunkers to ignore the taste of pennies in ur mouth and getting lost in the woods a lot bc they’d take FAR too many drugs n be lead astray having conversations with kind trees whose branches held their hands

(drug mention) got by on odd jobs like making candles n selling them at market stalls. leaf blowing at cemeteries. face painting fr children’s parties (where they were blatantly high). random stuff. all over the place. in this time them n their best friend also hd a sugar daddy named tony who always wore very impressive colour block suits n mink stoles n jewelled fedoras n hd a swanky apartment w marble floors. rly just. surreal. lots of strange stories frm this time.

things kind of blew up in their friendship group n they fell out w their best friend raya bc she slept w this guy aj who nyla hd been madly in love w for yrs.... he was a Stinker n honestly so ws their best friend so good riddance i say bt obviously it felt like having their entire world flipped upside dwn fr nyla.... they split after this came out bc they just did Not want to b around these ppl any more n they decided to leave w this guy frm a band they barely knew tht much save fr a one night stand to tour w them..... this ws another whirlwind. jst chock full of them. it ws similar to being on a teacup ride at a carnival n spinning round n round n only knowing u were surrounded by lots of lights. tht’s how they’d best describe their time on tour.

SO in terms of them coming to irving 8 months ago they came w the band.... they honestly did pretty well on tour n wound up renting a big beach house on dorado as a kind of “retreat” sort of place fr them to shack up in while they worked on writing and recording their first big studio album (they gt signed w a label so it’s all vry exciting stuff). nyla among like 3 others were allowed to stay w them too bc they hd a lot of fun on tour. literally jst. taken on as professional groupies essentially. nyla loved it bc they’d never seen the ocean n when they first got there they jst threw off all their clothes n ran straight into the water. it was 3pm on a tuesday afternoon. they got arrested fr public indecency n didn’t get why bc they were like but i just wanted to hug the ocean u silly little oinker? i picture the beach house as like. the loudest one on dorado.... comes alive like a jungle at night..... they r probably bad neighbours. anyway. onto personality puts hand on hip.

PERSONALITY:

sets out patio furniture on someone else’s lawn n jst takes a seat n leans back like ahhhhh vat a nice day to be alive ya! (swedish accent suddenly bc they think it’s fun). they come out n start yelling n they’re jst so confused they’re like hey wat’s the big idea hey wat’s go on here why u angies why this happen?

likes drawing imaginary veins over their arms in all different colour blue pens in a sudden fit of hyperfixation n then forgets all abt it n goes out like tht n scares several townsfolk bt they’re oblivious they’re jst in her own world loving life already onto the next fixation. has many many different fads like this. one day will jst start snipping up a bunch of magazines bc they’re like EYES ARE COOL N THEY SEE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P n they’ll stick a bunch of them over their wall n then forget they was doing that n leap onto the next. quite a pattern. bt they love the vein thing a lot it makes them feel like a walking planetarium like they have their own constellations

sometimes jst doesn’t make sense. they’re honestly kind of strange. pops up in places like they suddenly materialised there n it’s like how did u get there where have u been when were u last seen are u ok. has the energy of an ancient deity frm deep in a mountain cave n an ambiguous forest sprite all at once..... talks shit honestly. abt anything n everything. sometimes outrageous. sometimes plain incoherent. like what are u talking about? i dnt kno. even i dnt kno sometimes.

luvs stick n pokes will let anyone tattoo whatever they want on them for the price of a gummy bear kindly placed onto their tongue n swallowed whole

has this obsession w being underwater w their eyes open luvs it. calls it their tadpole time. runs baths just to lie there blinking looking around n drifting her arms. best friends w the bottom of any local swimming pool n hs probably given it a quick kiss so it knows they’re bff’s n then got sick bc there’s sm germs in a public pool. says the kgb probably poisoned their oatmeal n r finally here to deliver on their promise n THAT’S why they got sick unrelated to the pool incident. what promise? noone knows.

unclear if they believe what they say or if they jst has a very expanded sense of humour where they nvr let on if they’re joking.... lines r blurred a lot.....

loves excitedly shouting things. sometimes just screams at the sky bc they say it’s good to let the creatures in ur belly fly out every once in a while otherwise their wings get sore.

(drugs tw) still does an excessive amt of hallucinogens n it kind of shows. very bad fr their brain bt we’re going to ignore it.

dresses fun n strange n eccentric n careless. loves to experiment. does nt care abt what’s considered to be societally appropriate. living in their own world.

sleeps around a lot... jst doesn’t rly see sex as a big deal.... very free w themselves in that way..... sometimes greets their friends w a kiss on the lips they’re like awww :) kisses <3 when they run into them in the middle of the cereal aisle n then pulls away n suddenly breaks into a box tht has a free toy in it bc it’s a banana with googly eyes n that’s the best thing they’ve ever heard in their LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! n isn’t he so HANDSOME????? enchante indeed my good sir ;)... gives the toy a kiss too.

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

other groupies of the band: self explanatory a little.... i dnt have a name for the band yet bt all can b worked out..... i picture them as kind of. not that nice but like. there for a good time........ rock genre.... bit chaotic...... to say the least........ they dnt have to have come there w the band like nyla n the others they cld have been adopted in their time there.... whoever wld b wild n down fr a good time <3

chaotic trash goblin friends: idk what this title rly means it just came to me in a vision....... jst ppl tht r rly kind of off the rails n don’t care abt anything...... they r who nyla tends to mesh very well w......... they rly r living in their own world n by their own rules n they like ppl who do this too <3 inevitably they get up to no good n party far too much...... cld be angst to this if they enable each other’s bad habits...... world’s our oyster. opens my office door. let’s talk abt it.

nyla set up camp on their front lawn: maybe jst w a fold out chair. maybe w a literal pop up tent w someone else too. genuinely so bizarre of them bt that’s what we’re dealing with. they poke their head into the tent n nyla’s lying down crunching on a cracker crumbs over their tits n they just hold it out to them nt even fully consumed n are like hey polly want a cracker? :)

they responded to her craigslist ad: they posted one saying they cld cleanse their house of demonic energy bc they’re an all seeing eye in touch w the spirits. this is a lie. they came n waved sage around n did a little dance as they did it w bird sounds playing on a special cd they brought fr the occasion (had weird indistinct doodles over the case it ws brought in) n then ws like OOH! scary.... n jumped at something in the hall. they go in thinking maybe they’ve seen a ghost bt they just were startled by their own reflection in a mirror n is like. scary mirror placement...... might wna reconsider that........ they charge them merely 10 dollars fr their time n is like this was so fun we shd do it again some time :) also i think u have mould on ur bathroom tile! vanishes. they dnt recall them ever going to the bathroom.

came knocking asking for items for a garage sale: yes. u heard that right. they’re asking for ur muses things to set up their own garage sale. selling items that do not belong to them. they think this is a genius business strategy n don’t understand why ppl think this is so strange or why they cant just ask ppl to donate them things to sell bc hey they’re an entrepreneur? they even had a pencil behind their ear when they knocked on the door so why aren’t ppl taking their business seriously? probably got distracted several times trying to explain their pitch n chattered abt random other things instead.

honestly anything... fwbs... flings... good influence... someone who cnt stand the fact they’re barely coherent.... someone they stopped on the street one day n asked for their opinion on water beds.... we cn do literally anything. fling ur chara my way n we can talk.

because not only you were scared of the reaction from the boar headed boy, you were also scared of being late

what you didn't know, however, was that inosuke had followed you. inosuke found it incredibly strange and somewhat infuriating that all you did was give him such an empty stare and gave him his boar head mask, only to run away

he was just????? What???

ever since then, he would visit you as much as he could—secretly, of course.

he tried to be less...aggressive & rude, since it was a part of his personality

but sometimes he would lash out (not bc of you, ofc)

which sort of,, made you a little anxious?

but the more time you spent with him,,, you felt more comfortable?

you also felt like he brought out sides of you that you hadn't known existed

and hobbies you didn't know you liked

and you notice how every time you're around him,,, you get all nervous and sweaty and flustered a lot??

but honestly? that's how your feelings for him sparked

tanjirou, however, was determined to talk to you

so he waited a whole two weeks for you before you finally showed up again, going on an errand

he promised that he didn't want to bother you,, just check up on you and wanted to help in anyway he can and he hugged you

causing you to just,,, finally break down i guess

tanjirou comforted you the best he could and stayed with you until you felt better which you appreciated so much

after that, the two of you would secretly meet up from time to time

and as time passed, you began to realize your feelings for him

which made you afraid

bc you really didn't not want to get rejected or hurt

so you started to slowly distance yourself again which tanjirou grew concerned about

he was also sort of hurt,, bc you closing up your feelings again just as you were beginning to discover yourself

so he gave you some space before finally confronting you about it, bc it hurt him so much to be away from you??

and you felt even more lonely than you were before without tanjirou,,

so when he confronted you,,, you confessed your feelings and told you why you did that to him

and he was incredibly understanding too :(

from then on, he would visit you before and after his missions

the two of you would often write to each other

and he would get you small presents for you he got on missions :(

he always asks if he can hug or kiss you

and if you don't feel comfortable, he understands and gives you the space you need

you try to be as open with your feelings as you can with him

you like to gift him flowers and love notes (which he blushes so cutely at whenever he reads them!!)

Okay so how would hopper react to being called in to the school cause billy got in a fight ?

Duuuude!! okay so when Hop gets calls from one of the Officers at the station, he’s pissed and nervous about what Billy could have possibly done now bc out on the streets of Hawkins is usually when the boy gets reckless.

But the first time he gets a call from the school, he’s very confused bc yeah, he’ll get the odd call about a fight breaking out but this time they say “It’s your boy, Hop.”

and Hop is still feeling out how to be a good parent to this 17 yr old firecracker who is filled to the brim with anger and bubbling emotions but I just??

Imagine with me, Hop getting into the main office of the school and Billy is sitting in a chair w/ a bruise on his cheek and an angry scowl on his face, but there’s another boy sitting on the opposite side of the room trying in vain to discreetly ice his crotch and the Principal is staring Billy down with poison.

And when Hop asks what happened, the boy with the ice starts to yell out: “That stupid quee-!” before the Principal is calmly telling the boy to stop while ushering a steaming Jim Hopper into another room and closing the door, leaving the secretary to make sure the two boys don’t start fighting again.

and hear me out, imagine the principal (and probably every other teacher and member of admin save for maybe one good, sweet, supportive one) not liking Billy in the slightest. Bc he’s a Handful and kids who are as fucked up as billy tend to be looked at as “Evil Kids” and not necessarily hurt ones, esp back in the 80s when so many more things were taboo

And Hop knew this Principal when he was a kid, bc they went to high school together. He’s obnoxious and overly proud and threw a fit when he got beat out for valedictorian. He still looks at Jim with resentment, like all he can see is the “idiot football player” that Jim once was, who smoked under the bleachers with a different girl every other week.

But now that man is going off about how “Dylan Channing (the boy with the sore crotch) is the smartest boy in the senior class” and how “Mr. Hargrove’s behavior is unacceptable on a daily basis” and:

“Look… Jim. Lord only knows why you decided to take in that… hooligan child, but I think it might be best for you to put him in some kind of correctional school or something. You know they have military schools for boys like him.”

And Hop. Is. LIVID. Hop was a soldier by force. Hop grew up with a father who served and told him he was worthless if he didn’t do the exact same thing. Hop was forced to assimilate and beaten down but told to act tough bc “young boys need to learn heavy discipline”.

Hop saw heavy discipline colored on Billy’s body.

And so he eyes the man hard and asks: “Boys like him?”

“Yeah. You know… asshole problem children who need to learn some heavy discipli-”

And Hop snaps. Bc fuck. This. dude. He grabs the principal’s collar and says in his hardest, most intimidating voice: “you shut up. That’s not just some hooligan child, that’s my fucking son now and he doesn’t need military school, he needs a school with staff that isn’t so thick skulled they can’t see that he needs someone to listen and understand and not see him as an asshole problem child, you tremendous dickhead. You’re still that snivelly know-it-all like you were in high school. Now I don’t want you saying that shit about my kid ever again, got it?”

And Hop waits for the scared nod of the principal before he drops him against his desk and storms out, walking up to billy and asking what happened. And Billy’s response is real quiet as he says: “He hit me and called me a fag.”

So then Hop storms over to the kid and threatens him that he’ll be within inches of his life if he ever calls anyone else that ever again bc “you’re not as tough as you think, you brat. Now get off your high horse, shut the fuck up, and go back to class.”

And the boy is just as freaked, nodding and dropping the ice pack off on the front desk before he bolts out of the door.

Billy isn’t exactly happy.

“I can fight my own battles, Chief.”

“Did he hit you first?”

“Look, Chief-”

“Did he?”

Billy just nods.

Hop is boiling, nodding. “Good thing you have those steel toed boots. Keep kicking assholes in the nuts.”

And yeah……. Hop isn’t exactly a picture perfect dad. Maybe he shouldn’t be threatening 17 yr olds. Maybe his advice shouldn’t be to kick kids in the nuts, but that’s exactly what Hop would do as a high schooler in Billy’s position. Plus, Billy is his kid now and if anyone thinks giving either of his kids grief is a good idea, they’ve got another thing coming, bc they’re picking on a family of 1 angry and gruff Chief of Police, 1 buff as hell and short tempered boy, and 1 stubborn girl with mind powers.

oh boy ok you,,, don’t want this but u already asked and it’s too late to go back so im just gonna start talking

ok so i have like 2 separate oc worlds and 3 seperate groups of ocs within those (these are just the main ones, there’s ones i don’t think abt anymore and ones i’ve abandoned and fan characters and stuff but if i went over all of that i’d be here all day so i’ll just stick with these)

so the first world is just our world, modern day, but with magic. there’s this one town, barnsley, georgia, that’s cut off from the rest of the world. most ppl drive by without ever noticing it, and if someone tries to go in who’s not wanted the town will disappear or try to kill them or just do something to keep them out. it’s a vaguely sentient town. in barnsley there’s a big forest and no one’s ever gone in and come out the other side. there’s ambiguous danger in the forest, mostly faeries who will make you fall in love with them and then kill you and harvest your bones and stuff.

so there’s like 4-6 characters depending on where we’re looking at in terms of what storyline i’m following (this is the one that i did nanowrimo for three (3) times and have over 100,000 words of thrown out content for and obsess over constantly so it has the most solid plot and there’s a lot of it) so anyways i’ll just go over all 6 and try to make it as simple as possible without talking about converging storylines and alternate drafts and stuff

ok! so! vi larson-park is the daughter of one of barnsley’s 3 great magicians! her mom could do all sorts of crazy magic and i can’t get into the parents’ backstory here bc they have a whole OTHER story and that’s just. too much (maybe i’ll do that later? we’ll see) so yeah her mom did magic and also made some bad deals and stole some stuff from the woods and indirectly caused some ppls deaths but it’s like fine probably. so vi grew up with her mom, natalie, her mom’s witch girlfriend, erica, and erica’s twin brother, simon (who i’ll get into later and also who doesn’t exist in half the scrapped drafts) in this big empty DEFINITELY HAUNTED house on the edge of town where erica grew up and they were good and happy. then like a year ago natalie was killed by nick, who i’ll also get into later, and that’s kinda the end of her story, vi and erica are obviously devastated and they have a funeral and vi starts having the occasional odd dream here and there, but things go back to normal after awhile. vi has absolutely no aptitude for magic, and because of that she often feels alienated by erica and simon who are VERY magical and always talking about things she doesn’t understand. she’s fiercely loyal and protective and not really scared of anything. she’s always wanted to know what’s in the woods but knows better than to go looking

tyler is vi’s best friend and also 50% whole entire Not Human. he either came from the woods or was found outside a random gas station in like arizona or something depending on which draft i’m going by, but either way he was found around two years ago and has been clinging to vi ever since. his backstory is a big unknown to the human characters and no one really knows anything about him. he’s a faerie prince, the son of the erlking, who’s sort of the ambiguous villain of the story but i’ll get into him later. he has 3 brothers, sorrel, dain, and kell. sorrel is the oldest and known as the winter prince, then there’s kell for spring, dain for summer, and tyler himself for autumn. (btw his name isn’t actually tyler technically it’s robin but i'm not gonna get into that rn.) sorrel is cool and collected and stone cold bitch, and all he wants is to be king so he roped tyler into helping him try and kill their dad, which failed, so then he lost his position in the royal court and now he’s doing tons of morally gray stuff in an attempt to get back in his dad’s favor so he can kill him for real this time. dain and kell are sort of nothing at all and you don’t need to know anything except dain is really mean and violent and kell is an ally(?). after the whole failed killing debacle tyler ran away to barnsley in hopes that he could find something in common with the humans, since he’d been a faerie all his life and couldn’t stand it. he’s quiet and doesn’t like doing or saying things unless he absolutely has to, is generally unhelpful unless something benefits him, scared of being alone, hates being indoors, runs around barefoot and only eats food from the woods. he’s kinda like an outdoor cat.

nick and marcus jacobs are brothers and general hooligans. nick is the older one (he’s 19) and marcus is 15 and they grew up in barnsley for the first 14 years of marcus’ life until marcus accidentally killed their dad and they left town. which the dad killing subplot is really a lot to get into but basically their dad was the second magician, along with vi’s mom, except the effects of magic on a person can kinda drive a person insane and the others managed to keep it together but he slowly went crazy until he was paranoid and in pain all the time and ended up taking a lot of it out on his sons which ended in him threatening marcus and marcus in an act of self defense unleashing raw magic power he didn’t know he had and accidentally killing him and also taking out all the power in the entire town and causing a minor earthquake. it was a Big Deal. so yeah they buried their dad in the backyard and skipped town. after their dad died all his magic went down to nick so nick has newfound power (marcus btw has never been able to use magic since then and has no idea how he did it) but he also has voices in his head and weird dreams, and with all the voices yelling at him all the time he realizes that the only way to get rid of them is to get rid of the magicians. his dad did some magic bullshit that made him the vessel for the magic once he died but the other magicians didn’t so he doesn’t have to kill anyone besides them and it makes sense bc i say it does shut up. so for like a year they drive around aimlessly, meet with and kill vi’s mom, meet with and kill aidan’s dad (i’ll get to aidan once i’m done here), pick up a hitchhiker depending on which version of the story i’m telling, then go back home where they’re not really welcome anymore but that won’t stop them. nick is cold and mean and. y’know. a murderer, but he also loves marcus greatly and gets attached to people more easily than he would like to admit. he’s sort of closed himself off and resigned himself to killing “for the greater good”, but it’s hard for him, and there’s definitely people he wouldn’t kill. he fully planned to, once he got rid of the magicians, never kill again, and he keeps that promise. marcus is soft spoken and anxiety ridden and a bit of a crybaby and he hates death and doesn’t fully trust nick and doesn’t trust himself either. on the outside he appears bitter and angry constantly.

aidan mulligan is a HOOLIGAN! a whole entire rowdy boy! he’s also the son of the third magician and marcus’ ex(?) boyfriend? more like boyfriend on standby. it’s complicated. there’s nothing special to him, he’s rowdy bc his parents never gave him enough attention so he runs around with people he doesn’t really like and is always getting into trouble. his favorite activities are skipping church and running the local cryptid watch am radio station, which no one listens to and which he used to run with marcus. he misses marcus dearly and keeps waiting for him to come back. he’s loud and talkative and his mood changes drastically but is always on the highest setting. he’s either screaming-and-throwing-things angry or unable to shut up and bouncing all over the place. not to pick favorites but he’s my favorite i really love him. his life moto is “fuck you dad” basically. oh yeah nick killed his dad and stuff and it’s hit him hard but he’s not as torn up by it as he probably should be, which he feels terrible about. his mom lives on the other side of the country and doesn’t currently know his dad is dead, which isn’t really something you’re supposed to keep secret generally but the mulligan family said fuck the rules. he has two brothers, connor and seamus (connor older, seamus younger) and loves both of them though he would never admit it.

simon diederich is the secret special bonus magician!! also i think i gotta talk abt parent backstory for him so,,,, here goes: basically, simon and vi’s mom and marcus and aidan’s dads all stole magic from the forest in a way that doesn’t super make sense but it’s my story i can do what i want. and in the process simon died and they had to leave him behind in the woods, but then since the magic in the forest was weak it couldn’t continue being formless or else it would turn into nothing since so much of it had been damaged by the humans or w/e. so it took simon’s body as a vessel and resurrected him with all his old memories but also 100% more magic power. so he took that power and went back home and has been just straight chillin, unaging, for 30-ish years. he got like. immense wisdom when he was resurrected and is also possessed by a sentient forest so he does what the forest wants which is protect the town and fistfight anyone he doesn’t like. he’s obnoxious and immature and thinks he’s hot shit and loves these trees more than he loves other people probably

bonus character: lila is the ghost who lives in vi’s attic. she’s like 7. i love her

next, still in the same universe, are the residents of greywell, washington. greywell is what’s on the other side of those woods no one can cross in barnsley. how does that work? magic obviously. greywell is a lot like barnsley but more sinister, it’s a lot newer so the characters aren’t as fleshed out (with one exception) and there’s really only 3 i actually care abt so this ones gonna be a lot shorter. i’ve thought abt plot but nothing solid so there’s some...stuff but mostly this one will be short

zoe hammond: amateur teen witch who’s also cursed. she has an eye on her left hand which is always watching her and she wants off desperately. u know how i said in some versions of the story nick and marcus pick up a hitchiker? that’s her, going to barnsley bc she knows its magic and hopes someone there will know how to fix her. she respects authority and stays in line for the most part, but she also takes shit from no one. she’ll talk to nearly anyone but doesn’t particularly like anyone in town, also she sells witch shit out of the trunk of her car in the school parking lot

wesley: short rowdy trans boy with absolutely no self control who’s stoned all the time and does crazy things for the adrenaline rush and doesn’t bind safely and falls in love with every boy he meets. he skateboards bc of course he does. he’s always ready to fight and punches ppl a lot but usually ends up losing fights bc he’s tiny. i love him

noa: ok this dude went into the woods one (1) time and now there’s this magic glove stuck on their hand? and a ghost in their phone?? and they’re literally so confused and they’ve never had any friends in their entire life but all of a sudden that weird lesbian witch and her crazy skateboarder friend are talking to them all the time and they died? except they woke back up like nothing had happened even though their head basically blew up? and there’s like faeries and stuff coming after them because they want the glove and they can’t get the stupid thing off their hand and they have no idea what’s going on noa is an absolute nervous wreck who’s really fun to draw and they have no idea what’s happening to them and tbh i don’t rly know what i’m doing either but i’m having a good time

this is a completely separate world, it’s like this 1910s era fictional city with magic and shit. the magic system is kinda complicated but basically there’s elemental magicians who are heavily tied to religion, they’re believed to be sacred and god sent by p much every organized religion. they do elements, it’s pretty simple. then there’s blood magicians who can basically transmute but they have to use their own blood to do it. anyone can learn to be a blood magician but most ppl don’t want to bc. blood ow. blood magicians are an ABOMINATION AGAINST GOD and there’s a stigma against them in religious communities so they tend to populate big cities and less religious places. there’s also healers who are born like elementals and can’t be trained, they’re isolated from both schools of magic bc unlike elementals they’re not pure (well, depending on which religion you ask) and unlike blood magicians they’re not common. born magicians are born with pure black eyes (irises? the colored part. not just all black) that differentiate them from nonmagic ppl. there’s also super intense mary sue magicians who r rare and born with red eyes (i started this world when i was 13 don’t judge me bitch) and they can shapeshift kinda? but in cool ways, it’s not just shapeshifting they could also make their skin tough or nails pointy or w/e. one of them specifically likes to harden his own blood in weapons it’s kinda metal. anyways here’s the character profiles from the google doc pasted in word for word

So basically there's these 2 gangs, run by this woman Lyra Frey and this dude Lucas Sweeney, and they Do Not Like Each Other At All. Neither of them are good bc yknow...gangs….but lyra’s is like...better anyways here's characters

Lyra's dudes:

Emil Finch: 21, any and all pronouns, ace, lyra’s right hand man/ veteran of a bloody civil war (TECHNICALLY a war criminal but yknow…it's whatever). Likes cats and Arya, dislikes cigarettes and being short. Their birth name is Emilee, which they shortened to their liking when they moved to The Big City, and they used their father's name (Finn O'Malley) to join the war. They're a healer magician but ssshhh don't tell anyone. They used their powers to hurt people when they were in The War and now don't trust themselves, so they stick to traditional medicine thank you very much. (Also knives. They’re a big fan of knives.)

Arya Frey: 21, she/her, Lyra’s adopted daughter and mechanic. She has METAL LEGS and has to walk with a cane so she doesn't go outside much, mostly makes machines and strategizes for her mom. Likes drawing, Emil, making things/taking them apart, dislikes cold weather (it makes her joints hurt), magic, Drunk Emil. She has two cats named vriska and karkat. Everyone is suspicious of these names even though it's like 1910 and an alternate universe and homestuck doesn't exist.

Jaz Anaheim: 18, he/him, big gay disaster, a pickpocket who came to the Big City with his brother when he was 16 to work and send money to his mom, stole from a kingpin, joined a gang, watched his brother die in front of him, and lied to his mom for 2 years about his job and his brothers aliveness while he sent her blood money. He's a humble farm boy, no magic, tall and uncoordinated, basically all he can do is steal and flirt badly and he's very aware. Also where he came from magicians were rare because they were all drafted for the war so when he sees magic he's way too impressed. Likes loud music, people being interested in him, his family (just his mom now :’)), his hometown, dislikes the city, feeling disliked, himself, swimming

Sweeney’s band of assholes:

Elliott Sweeney: 24, he/him, Sweeney’s son and certified dad hater. He's a blood magician which are common and not that impressive but he’s good at what he does bc he did nothing but practice for like 6 years. His dad basically controls him and makes him work for him because he's useful. He resents his dad with every ounce of his being but doesn't have the spine to do anything about it. After accidentally burning down part of their house and killing his mom his dad sent him away to the summer house in the country, where he lived for the past 6 years, obediently doing his dad’s bidding and learning how to control his magic until he got fed up and burned that house down (on purpose this time), making his dad move him back to the family house in the city so that he could keep an eye on him. he’s one of those badass mega magicians who does blood swords and stuff, he’s also spent so much time reading that he knows a lot about magic theory. Quiet, reserved, extremely petty, but shows a sense of humor around his sister. Never really knew Alise growing up so he’s more of a cool uncle than a brother. Alise Sweeney: 14, she/her, her dad named her Alise with an S because he's just that much of an asshole. She's a self trained blood magician and good at what she does. She hates her dad almost as much as Elliott does but she's also not a fucking baby about it. Is DEFINITELY planning on killing him at some point. Was raised to make jokes and do crime and her brother said if she does crime she's grounded. Has never been serious about anything ever, and probably has a screw loose. Has killed people. Is basically a tiny fighting machine. Her dad was rough on her growing up. Likes picking fights, Elliott and Atticus, pissing off her dad, causing trouble. Dislikes her dad, people stronger than her, tense situations, being alone

Atticus Grey: 16, he/him, not Sweeney’s son but hates him enough that he probably could be (in case you were noticing a theme here, sweeney is kinda unlikeable). His mom left soon after he was born and his dad ran up a huge debt and ended up working for Sweeney to pay it off, then died in a gang fight before he could get through it. Sweeney, the merciless motherfucker that he is, decided that Atticus would finish paying it off, and snatched him up as soon as he was 13. His dad used to hang out with Emil’s and so they ended up taking care of parentless Atticus (along with (extremely reluctant) Arya. Atticus is really close with Lyra’s entire crew because he's spent so much time around them. He's a fire magician who knows a bit of blood magic but barely uses it, and he's an angsty bitch. Likes Emil, being alone, dislikes everything else.

oh yeah then there’s those bitches in charge:

Lyra Frey is a [REDACTED] year old woman from [REDACTED] who moved to the city while fleeing from [REDACTED]. She was in the civil war briefly, fighting for the [REDACTED] side. Her real name is not Lyra, but is actually [REDACTED]. She loves Arya more than anything else probably. Sees Jaz as an unofficial son, is skeptical of Atticus, likes Emil but doesn’t trust them.

Lucas Sweeney is one of those rich bastards who also does crime on the side. He’s a politician but everyone and their mother knows he’s an absolute crime lord on the side. Has arguably more power than Lyra but has no idea how to use it, plus Alise has already recruited like half his employees into joining her uprising. He’s a selfish man and a terrible dad. No one likes him.

2 a.m. ` Xu Minghao

Anon requested: “ Scenario that starts w Minghao totally puppy-eyes-ing reader bc they're leader of the Anti Dab Squad ™ “

Genre: fluff

Word Count: 1654

A/N: i’m sorry if it’s not what you wanted because i didn’t really understand, but i hope you like it!

you guys met through Seungkwan, kinda

after a rough night of practice, all the members are too tired to even think about cooking at home

cough Mingyu cough

it’s past 12 am and they are starving

so they head to their go to restaurant by their practice room

“hi can i take your order?” you smile tiredly at the large group that just came in,

barely recognizing their faces tbh

“yeah can we get..” one guy starts listing their order, while you hurry to write it all

“Y/n?? is that you??” Seungkwan interrupts his hyung, staring at you with a hand over his mouth

you start to focus as you squint

“Seungkwan?” you exclaim

you scan the rest of their faces, “and they must be your members!”

“how have you been? why are you in Seoul?”

you calm yourself and say amused, “I should take your order first, i’m sure your members are hungry Seungkwan”

he reddens as the others laugh at your teasing tone

once you leave all the members turn to Seungkwan

“who was that?” Minghao asks, being right next to him

“ahhh, we pretty much grew up together she lived in my neighborhood”

“I could barely recognize her she looks different” Seungkwan hums as an afterthought

“i’m sure you do too” Minghao says making everyone burst into laughter

the rest of the night goes pretty smoothly

even when Seungkwan calls you over to sit down, saying you MUST meet the members

you and Seungkwan are laughing together exchanging phone numbers, promising to keep in touch from now on

Minghao didn’t think much of you other than you were Seungkwan’s cute friend,

nothing else

but one night, he leaves the practice room on a break

just wanting to go take a walk, to relax his mind

it’s probably like two am when he sees two figures across the street

at first he just looks away, thinking its probably a couple wanting to relax like him

“SIR! You need to go home, look I’ll call you a taxi”

he immediately notices the way the tone reflects fear, despite how strong it comes off

taking quick, long strides he does the first thing at comes to mind

“babeee, you wanna see something cool?”

he has his arm thrown around the girl’s shoulder, and looks down to make eye contact

and it only takes a few moments for you both to recognize each other

your mouth opens in shock, but you keep your composure realizing what he was trying to do

Minghao turns and glares at the man, who he realizes is drunk

“why are you talking to my girl”

this fluttering feeling you felt was totally not appropriate for the situation

his arm tightens around your shoulder protectively

the man stumbles a bit, but even his drunk mind is able to simply mumble a few words and walk away

heart still racing, you turn to him

“Minghao right?”

“yeah, and Y/n?” he takes his arm off your shoulder

it was nice while it lasted

“well thank you Minghao”

“you welcome,” he cracks a smile, “though you could’ve just ran away, or slapped the dude”

you huff, “well you didn’t have to come pretend to be a boyfriend either”

so maybe he’s a bit of a romanticist

he shrugs and says

“where are you going? i’ll walk you”

“please i’m sure you have things to do, i’ll be fine” you shake your head at him, walking ahead

he follows you

“well what kind of a man would I be, i definitely can’t, especially since you’re Seungkwan’s friend”

you gasp, eyes widening, “do NOT tell Kwannie, you know he’s a worry wart!!”

“i won’t,” he laughs, “why are you even out this late?”

“work,” you raise an eyebrow, “who else is going to feed people like you who eat past 12 am”

he laughs again nodding

and you can’t help but feel surprised at how comfortable the two of you guys are

“so what was that cool thing you wanted to show me?”

“ummm myself?”

and he actually dabs

dabs

“oh gosh nooo” you scrunch up your nose in disgust

“you have a problem with dabbing?”

“it’s stupid” you deadpan

“i guess we can’t be friends then” he shakes his head disappointingly

you’re about to retort but Minghao gets a call

you wait by him as he answers, rocking back and forth on your heels

“where are you we need to finish” Minghao looks at you

“right now?” he answers Soonyoung

“yeah”

“okay” he answers reluctantly, i’ll be there soon”

you stand patiently, already understanding the call

“see, you do have things to do”

you smile, already making the motion to wave goodbye and walk away

but

“let me give you my number”

he stares into your eyes confidently, somehow making you automatically hand him your phone

“wait why?”

there’s unwanted butterflies in your stomach

“text me when you get home, so I know you’re safe”

with one last smile, he turns around, going back

as you walk back, you can’t help your heart that’s beating so rapidly

when you get home you text him right away

to your surprise he responds quickly, with a short ‘i’m glad’

the typing bubble pops up

‘but idk if we can keep talking if you dislike dabbing’

so here starts the back and forth playful arguments

past that though, the friendship you have with Minghao is...

probably way to affectionate to be considered a normal friendship

he never fails to ask about how your day is going

while you ask about him about his

you tease him to try to pull some spoilers out of him

cue him sending you a bunch of selfies of him dabbing in return

he texts you goodnight,,

and you stare at your phone nervously as you type out your response

you squeal, immediately go to delete,

internally calling yourself crazy

except you press SEND

after realizing what you did you fling yourself headfirst into your pillow

because you did not just text Xu Minghao goodnight

WITH A HEART

no no no you’re absolutely dying of embarrassment

you phone pings, and you over dramatically pick it up

your grip tightens on your phone as your eyes stare at the notification

he sent a heart back

oh my god

you didn’t know that he was grinning widely laying his head down on his pillow

clutching the phone closer to him, he lets out a sigh

yes imagine soft minghao tears

thughao is totally losing his street cred for being an absolutely softy for you

“GUYS MINGHAO IS TEXTING Y/N”

Mingyu yells, his voice echoing in the dorm

“SHUT UP YOU PUNK”

Minghao yells at him, glaring intensely

yeah he’d probably regret exposing Minghao later but all the members rushing into their room, was just too funny

see, Minghao’s not really the type to keep secrets from his members

especially ones about a girl he really liked

and they approved, but the problem with telling Seventeen..

THE ENDLESS TEASING

Junhui jumps on his fellow member laughing brightly

“well aren’t you going to ask her out”

“oof”

ignoring the question, Minghao pushes him off

“okay i’m going for a walk”

he grabs his cap and mask, heading out

“AND ASK HER OUT WHILE YOU’RE AT IT”

Seungkwan’s voice is the last thing he hears before closing the door

okay and actually that didn’t seem like a bad idea to him?

oh besides the fact it was literally the middle of the night

sitting down, in front of that oh so familiar road

he takes a chance

looking at your contact, he types

‘are you awake’

he doesn’t have to wait long as you text back a minute later

‘yeah’

‘you should be sleeping’

‘says the person who texted me’

he cracks a smile

‘are you busy right now’

‘no what could i actually even be doing at this time of night’

‘meeting me at our bench?’

it scares you,

how you know exactly that bench he’s talking about

and how he refered to it has ‘our bench’

but you text him an ‘okay’

walking up to him, sitting yourself only an inch apart from him

he still remains silent

so you do too

a minute goes by

that felt like an hour of you listening to the soft sound of him breathing

he speaks, “so why were you awake?”

how smooth of him

swinging you legs back and forth, you answer airily

“college and all that you know”

he hums at your generic answer

“i couldn’t sleep, without asking you one thing”

you turn to look at him

he’s staring directly at you

“ask away”

“will you go out with me?”

you cheeks turn rosy as you let out a surprised sound

“i-i, yes”

he laughs

it’s a soft, happy sound

you immediately start to smile

the smile on his face is very contagious

you punch his chest lightly,

“and you had to ask this at two am?”

“i actually think 2 am is a pretty good time” he jokes

you shove his leg playfully

“yeah just as good as all the stupid dabs you do”

he leans in, scrunching his nose at you

face just inches away from yours

“you said you’d go out with me, meaning you’re going out with my dabs too”

pushing him away, regrettably, you stand up crossing your arms

“excuse you i don’t remember agreeing to that”

he stands up too

and grabs your hands

gently pulling them down to your side, never letting go

“we’re a package deal y/n”

something about the way he says your name makes you melt

then he grins mischievously

with his hand still in yours, he brings your arm up

and makes you dab

you gape at him in disbelief, completely frozen like ice

“there i’m satisfied” he nods smiling

pressing his lips to your cheek

and suddenly you’re melting again

Nope, they were based on Bakugou and Kirishima themselves. Now the real question is, has Horikoshi based Kirishima and Bakugou on shark boy and lava girl? That’s a question I got no answer to, though.

And hmmmmmmmmmmm let’s say that Mako’s closer to Kiri and Tai to Baku, but not by much - a bit because Mako’s a high energy type of kid and Kiri has energy to spare always, a bit because Tai is the quiet type and Baku’s good at keeping him busy and entertained with things in his comfort zone, but also because back when they adopted Mako Bakugou was... really scared he would fuck it up so Mako ended up growing closer to Kiri first, and because when they adopted Tai Baku was the only one he for sure wasn’t gonna accidentally hurt with his quirk so he grew closer to Baku first. Bakugou’s also better at keeping calm and working out what’s the problem when the kids cry (surprisingly) (Kirishima more often than not ends up crying with them) so since Tai gets easily overwhelmed he seeks him out often - ah well, in general they’re all really close, but, yeah. This is how it is.

Voltron Jungle Book AU

- Keith (who's essentially bagheera) finds a crying human child in a basket and is like 🔪🔪🔪 but w claws - but then he's like "fuck. That's kinda a cute baby. But I'm a fucking panther what am I gonna do" - then he remembers his best friend shiro n his mate rolo just had a litter of pups (yes shiro is trans) and he's like "oh yea shiro n rolo could raise this mancub bc they're both pack animals!" - so he takes the mancub (guess who she is oaydqpuf) and Shiro's wolf father insiticts r just Must Protect and Keith's like "I fucking knew it" - rolo shows up and Keith's nervous but Shiro's like "ROLO LOOK MY PANTHER BROTHER BROUGHT US ANOTHER CUB" and rolos tail is like a helicopter blade ("LET ME SEE HER LET ME SEE HER") - and Keith's like "yeh I did good. I knew my wolf brother would come through" - so pidge grows up w her wolf family in the jungle happy as can be - until the man-hating tiger lotor is rumored to be back in the jungle - shiro and rolo don't want to, but for the safety of both pidge and their pack they ask Keith to lead her to the local man cub village - Keith agrees, and as he's really bad w kids he's broody and snappy w pidge, so she sneaks off as soon as she can - but she gets caught by lotors accomplice, the python haggar - she hypnotizes pidge and almost eats her, until Keith shows up bc he'd been tracking pidge - Keith starts yelling at pidge for being so reckless (lol) and she gets even more mad at him and sneaks off again - this time she runs into a big bear, and as soon as he sees her he's like "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOUR PARENTS" - and pidge is like "they sent me away... for my own safety. And now I'm stuck with this stick in the mud panther" - and hunk (bc yes, its hunk) is like "oh that guy, he's really a big softie" - then this river dolphin (guess who) pokes his head above water and is like "don't listen to hunk! Hunk loves everybody, Keith's a big broody cat who has no idea what fun is" - pidge is simultaneously "what the fuck is that river smooth thing" and "I have found a kindred spirit" - so pidge spends some time with hunk the anxious bear and lance the energetic dolphin bc hey these guys are at least more fun than Keith - a few hours later Keith finally tracks her down, but she's swimming and playing in the river with hunk and lance - he's terrified of water so he yells at her to come out, but she refuses - so keith prepares himself, and finally is able to jump in the river after her - except he starts panicking, and once they all realize Keith's in trouble hunk swims over as fast as he can and pulls him out of the river - hunk is hovering over Keith, going "are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you need anything?" and Keith is just "not now gay thoughts" - (yes this is a heith au what did u expect when I made keith bagheera and hunk baloo???) - lance carries pidge over to the river, and she's crying, bc while Keith is a pain in the ass he's essentially her uncle and her guardian at this point - they spend the night by the river, all sleeping together (with lance as close as he can be) and pidge is cuddled in between Keith and hunk - in the morning, hunk announces that he and lance are accompanying Keith in his task to take pidge to the man village - Keith starts spluttering and trying to find an excuse but pidge is just like "oh sweet we were following the river anyways!" - so they start their trip down the river, all talking and laughing, bonding as buds do - hunk and Keith feel a bit more than bonding though ;3 - after about a day these random monkeys swipe pidge off the ground in a matter of seconds, leaving her three new brothers like "what the fuck just happened" - a big chase ensues, with hunk running on the ground to try and keep them in sight and keith pouncing through the trees to try and catch them - the monkeys are too fast, and eventually leave the two in the dust - pidge gets taken to a large ruin, and is dropped in front of their king, lubos - lubos' adviser, ryner, is like "lubos this is a kid she's not gonna be able to do it" - lubos goes "NONSENSE! She will make me FIRE!" - pidge is like??? I grew up w wolves dude. What tf is fire - lubos thinks she's bluffing, and has this whole speech about the wonders of man, focusing mainly on fire and the power it grants - meanwhile, hunk sneaks in wearing a disguise to try and rescue pidge - it was lances idea. Hunk wants to believe in his best friend, but his big brain tells him he will be caught immediately - to his surprise, he's not, until he's by pidge and trying to sneak her off, and lubos notices - however. Lubos thinks hunk is one of his subjects who is trying to steal "his fire" - hunk and pidge are surrounded, so hunk rips off his disguise and tries to go for the Scary Bear bit - it works for a bit, but soon the monkeys realize he won't hurt them and they become more confident - then Keith shows up and holds his claws to the kings throat - the monkeys let them all leave after that - they meet back with lance at the river, and they continue to the village - but on the way, they run into lotor - he threatens them, telling hunk Keith and lance that he'll spare them if they give him the man cub - all of them refuse, and hunk and Keith manage to get lotor to leave them alone, but not before lotor promises to be back - pidge is visibly shaken, and rides on hunks back for the next few hours - they go a couple days without anything uneventful, taking a short break to watch some elephants - they come across a large field, and being tired, an agreement is made to meet up with lance at the river in the morning while the others sleep in the field - halfway through the night, pidge wakes up, both because of the sudden rain and a noise she heard - she wakes up keith and hunk, scared - both are suddenly alert, trying to listen and smell for any danger, but the rain makes it hard - suddenly, lotor jumps from the grass and tries to attack pidge, but hunk jumps in front of her and guards her while keith lunges at lotor to fight - hunk continues to hide pidge, not giving lotor a chance to swipe at her while also keeping her from watching the fight - there's a sudden bolt of lightning that strikes the grass near Keith and lotor, and even with the rain it starts up a large fire - hunk picks pidge up and runs, yelling at Keith to follow - lotor, the coward that he is, runs away immediately, but his back paw hits Keith in the head as he turns around - it hits hard enough that, with all his wounds and exhaustion from the battle, he blacks out - after a minute hunk realizes Keith hasn't followed them, so he puts pidge down and tells her to stay put while he goes to find Keith - pidge, being pidge, does not listen and instead runs after hunk - hunk finds Keith passed out, the fire starting to get extremely close to him - hunk lifts him onto his back, turning around to run, and he's so worried that he doesn't reprimand pidge when he sees her - once he decides they're far enough away, he sets keith down and tries to wake him up - he can't tell if Keith is even alive, and if he could cry he knows he would be, because he hadn't even realized how much Keith meant to him until he could be dead - pidge, who can cry, is staring in silent shock as the rain mixes with the tears falling down her face - once it's been long enough that hunk has given up hope, Keith groans and opens his eyes a bit - pidge runs up and hugs him, trying to be gentle, but failing bc she was so scared - hunk let's pidge have her time, then nuzzles Keith when she lets go - Keith is confused. I wouldn't mind that." - if panthers could blush, Keith would have been blushing - Keith's still too weak to walk, so hunk lifts him onto his back again, and they walk back to meet lance - Lance is, understandably, confused at Keith's state, and pidge explains to him as hunk brings keith some food - after a few hours, Keith can walk, so they continue to the village - they finally reach the village, and pidge realizes she doesn't want to leave the jungle - none of the others want her to leave either, but they all know and tell her that she needs to be with other humans - she hugs them all goodbye, then slowly makes her way to the entrance - on the way, she sees a girl gathering water, and is like "woah she's pretty" - (pidge is a useless lesbian who falls for the first human she sees ypfaupafpuafupaf) - she is accepted into the village, and after she says "I'm a girl" literally everyone in the village is like "cool! Here's some dresses" - (if u thought pidge was cis in this au??? ur wrong. when would i ever make pidge cis) - she never does lose her love for animals or the jungle, and routinely goes out to visit her brothers and, occasionally, her dads - eventually she starts bringing her girlfriend, and while she can't understand the animals she can see how much pidge loves them - and they all live happily ever after bc lotor fell off a cliff while running away and died! the end
