I wanna be bred by him👉👈
fucking wari for the first time ever and he can’t control when he reaches his climax so he gives you a big creampie. he couldn’t handle himself when you were wrapped so tightly around his giant cock, clenching around him after every thrust. “u-ugh, fuck!” your ass is beat warm from his heavy balls slapping up against it, the roughness in his rhythm spanking you.
“gonna have you carryin’ my baby.”’when he cums, he makes sure not to waste a single drop of it. “make sure ya mama knows who knocked ya up.” using his tip to brush your cervix, filling you up like a damn good boston cream donut. “fuckin’ adore this pussy.” sometimes he’ll let out such a big load that it leaks out from your hole and he has to fuck it back into you. but sometimes, i mean always. you might be his step daughter but he’ll fuck you drunk like a damn hooker.

Hi Arrow! A little request if you are inspired:
The first time they properly use the fireplace in their apartment.
💖💖💖💖
Thank you Calli! It was cool(ish) and rainy here today (though it will be hot again by morning), so I'm vibing with this!
"Fuckin' gross out there man," Mickey complains as soon as he walks through the door. He kicks it shut behind him, hands full, and beelines for the kitchen. The cardboard box he's holding lands heavy on the counter, his keys sliding off the top.
Ian catches them before they hit the floor, and sets them properly in the bowl they keep for that purpose.
"Thought it was supposed to be cooler today," he comments, glancing out the window behind the sink. It certainly looks cooler: the shimmery heat of the past few days has given over to grey skies and quickly-moving clouds.
"Tell that to the damn humidity," Mickey counters. "Like walking through soup out there, and it ain't gettin' better."
He's right about that--the light drizzle that begins to tap at the glass proves it for him.
"Even worse at the donut shop if you can believe it," Mickey continues. "It's been under 80 fucking degrees out for one day, one day, and they turned on the goddamned fireplace in the cafe!"
The rain starts to hit harder, tap to rap to a steady, hard drumming.
"Sounds ridiculous," Ian says. He watches the rain on the window, and listens to the sudden, distant boom of late-summer thunder. "What were they thinking?"
"I know!" Mickey pops the box of donuts open, grabs a chocolate long john. Waves it around in one hand as he speaks.
"And they must have cranked the air in there or somethin', because it was still better than outside!"
Ian cocks his head.
"Thought you said it was worse?"
"I mean." Mickey pauses to take a bite and chew. His cheeks are faintly flushed--from annoyance? from the heat?--as he swallows.
"Wasn't actually hot in there," he admits, "but who puts on a fire when it ain't even freezing?"
Ian doesn't answer; there's no need to. But the question hangs between them like it was something more than rhetorical.
"I mean, it was kinda nice and all, I guess," Mickey adds. "Cozy and shit. Probably good for business, too--sort of made me want a hot chocolate or somethin'."
He takes another bite of his donut, and nudges the box over to Ian. Ian picks out one of his own, a cream-filled monstrosity that might well put him into hibernation.
"But puttin' on a fire when you've got AC runnin' is crazy, right?" Mickey asks again, voice tipping high at the end.
It is crazy, Ian thinks, eating his giant donut and listening to the rain. Neither of them ever would have thought to do it. Wasting energy, wasting money, just to capture a vibe? Just to make the world around them match the way it made them feel?
Absolute insanity.
"Wanna do it?" Ian asks.
"Fuck yes," Mickey answers, already heading for the living room. "And make us some cocoa, we're doin' this shit right."

⚠️This chapter contains references to sexual assault/rape ⚠️
Within the dorm room of Amora and Loki, an alarm goes off. Loud and obnoxious Amora, groans out of her slumber, rolling closer to the wall as if she trying to get away from the sound, hugging her red octopus plushie closer to her chest. Before she fell back asleep, she could hear movement, damn, Loki gets up early.
After what felt like only a few minutes, Amora gets hit with something hard, “Jesus!” she yelled.
“Sorry, but I’ve been saying your name for the past five minutes,” Loki replied before Amora opened her eyes seeing a pillow in her head as she stood at the side of the bed.
“Lovely or my actual name?”
“Both,” Loki answered, “As your roommate, I am responsible for getting you up and off to your classes.”
“Are you just saying that because I am new?” Amora asked rubbing her eyes.
“Pretty much, it would be really odd if you were late for your classes, and I wasn’t because we are roommates.”
“You’ve got a point,” Amora groaned, finally sitting up as Loki left for the bathroom, “I guess.”
Stretching, before getting ready for the day wearing a light blush button-up top under a spaghetti stripped, dark rouge, ankle-length dress with a pair of Mary Janes.
“Well, don’t you look stunning,” Loki commented exiting the bathroom.
She wore a band t-shirt that had a pair of scissors to it, at some point, to make it shorter than the original, plain high-waisted gray jeans and a pair of worn olive green Chucks.
“You look nice too,” Amora mumbled, blushing and she ran a brush through her hair.
“They always have some kind of muffins or donuts in the commons if you are a person that enjoys eating breakfast,” Loki commented, gathering her things as Amora did the same.
“You say that like you’re not that type of person,” Amora replied.
Loki shrugged, as she opened the door, “My last few roommates didn’t like having breakfast,” she remarked, as Amora left their dorm room, “or maybe they just didn’t like having breakfast with me.”
They had only known each other for a weekend and Loki hadn’t done much talking about herself. No, she was spilling all kinds of information about the school, the classes they shared (which was most of them), the people to stay away from, and the one story about how the dean’s husband went missing, in addition to asking Amora questions about herself. However, the question of why she was here never came up.
Loki can be abrasive, yet she is obviously respectful, Amora had made a nonverbal line in the sand, the day they met, and Loki noticed somehow and respected her.
“Martha Wise,” Amora stated as she walked out of the Osmanthus hall with Loki.
“Huh?”
“You asked me which serial killer I was most interested in last night and my answer is Martha Wise,” Amora answered.
“And why is that?” Loki questioned.
Amora shrugged, “She poisoned 17 of her family members after they forced her to end a relationship, it seems oddly romantic in a way.”
“Mhm, romantic,” Loki muttered.
“Sorry if that’s weird.”
Loki shook her head, “Not at all, I asked you a question and you gave me an answer, a very interesting answer.”
Amora nodded, as they walked into the commons filled with peers all enjoying conversations with one another and muffins.
“LOKI!” The voice of Euphrasie yelled, grabbing Loki’s and Amora’s attention, they stood behind the common area’s kitchenette counter with the other dorm residents, muffins upon muffins in front of them.
The roommates made their way over to the sunny senior, “I saved you a chocolate muffin,” Euphrasie remarked quietly, before presenting Loki with the chocolate chip-filled muffin, “Don’t tell anyone I did that though, because I’ve been telling a bunch of people we were out.”
“Thanks, Euphrasie,” Loki muttered.
“We’ve got a ton of Banana Nut Muffins,” Euphrasie commented, looking at Amora, “Plus, cream cheese stuffed, blueberry, mix berry, strawberry, raspberry white chocolate aka my personal favorite, pumpkin spice, cherry, and maple ones.”
Amora thought for a moment before Euphrasie added, whispering, “If you want a banana nut muffin, I literally will bring a box full of them by your dorm later.”
“I don’t like bananas so I’ll pass,” The blonde teen replied, “Can I have a cream cheese-filled muffin, please.”
“Sure thing,” Euphrasie retorted before digging in a box in a chair behind them pulling about the muffin Amora wanted and giving it to her, “I’ll find someone else to give all the banana muffins, eventually.”
“Luther likes banana nut muffins,” Loki remarked opening her muffin of how it’s wrapped prison, “Then again, he will eat anything. He’ll take them if no one else wants them.”
“Sweet!” Euphrasie exclaimed, “I’ll see you guys later.”
Amora waved as she and Loki left for the exit.
“Do residents give out food like that every day?” Amora asked attempting to make conversation as they walked toward the main school building.
“It’s normal for treats to be out for anyone who wants a snack, but there are only a few times a semester,” Loki explained, “Although now that Euphrasie is the head RA this year, that might change.”
“She’s very involved,” Amora commented.
“I’ve been here for the past four years, and I’ve known Euphrasie for that whole time, she sees the world like a primary school playground. She must make friends with everyone, and if she doesn’t it’s a bad day.”
Amora giggled at the thought of Euphrasie pouting about not making a friend, and Amora’s laughter made Loki’s cheeks grow hot.
“You, okay?” Amora asked, seeing Loki’s cheeks a bright pink color as if she had just been hit with cold winter air.
Her pear-colored eyes were big and doe-like when they looked over at the British girl. Loki’s flushed face only became darker as Amora continued to glance over.
“I-I’m fine, lovely,” Loki’s voice cracked as she tried to recover and clear her throat “Don’t worry about it’s simple Rosacea.”
Amora looked at her a little confused before entering the main building. The halls filled with students as the two girls walked to their first class together. On one of the upper floors sat their classroom for their first lecture, an AP Gothic Literature class. The class is a smaller size, with three rows of long tables taking up the most space in the room, and only a few people sitting in the classroom with no teacher in sight.
“Oh my god, is that Loki Holloway early to a class,” a boy sitting in one of the chairs in the middle of the class exclaimed.
He has a darker complexion with a box fade, and he’s of the mystical variety given his elf-like ears. He wore a mask over his mouth and a skater-street-style of dress of very feminine colors.
“Oi’ I’m always on time,” Loki replied, making her way over to him while Amora followed.
“Last semester you were late to Mrs. Viloria’s class for half the year,” the girl beside the boy who had just spoken said in a monotone voice. She was white and a natural redhead, her hair large and curly. Wearing a purple jacket and a simple pair of jeans with her nose in a sketchbook
“People can change,” Loki replied, sitting down near them, “These two are Iphigenie and Odysseus.”
“Hi,” Amora commented before sitting down between Odysseus and Loki.
“You’re the American,” Odysseus remarked.
Amora let out a little sound, “I see I’ve been a hot topic.”
“Eurphrasie wasn’t kidding when she said you’ve been the only thing we’ve been talking about,” Loki retorted.
“We get a lot of American tourists but not a lot of American students, I thinks that's why we find you so interesting,” Odysseus explained.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Iphigenie commented, before focusing on her drawings.
“So, do you play D&D?” Odysseus questioned.
“Uh, no, sorry. My best friend is really into it, but I don’t play,” Amora replied. Odysseus nodded, “Well if you ever wanna give it a shot, I’m more than happy to go over the basics with you.”
Amora can tell even with the mask covering his lips he is smiling, “Thanks.”
The classroom soon filled with students, yet the instructor was nowhere in sight even passed the start time for class, there was no adult with the formal education to begin teaching.
“How long has it been Odis?” Loki questioned.
“Uh,” Odysseus sighed checking his watch, “13 minutes.”
“15 minutes and we get to leave,” Amora joked.
Loki chuckled, “Are you actually a troublemaker, lovely?”
“No, but I am willing to skip class if the tea—”
There is then the loud clicking sound of heels against the porcelain floor, making everyone shut up their little conversations, while, who they can only presume is their educator, enters the room. She had a fairer complexion, with white bangs and black hair, and wore a simple national colored bulse and dark striped wide-legged dress pants.
“My apologies, somehow I lost track of time this morning,” she clarified as she pulled out many things from her carry case.
Her voice was similar to Iphigenie, monotone yet more tired, “I’m Mrs. Helvetica Davidson, this is Gothic Literature,” the instructor remarked before beginning to pass out syllabi, “I’m sure you are aware you will be doing a lot of reading in this class there are digital copies on all of the reading material we will have in this class on the school’s Learning Portal.”
“Learning Portal?” Amora asked Loki quietly.
“I’ll show you later this afternoon,” Loki whispered back.
“I don’t like the normal “get to know you” questions, I rather cause violence,” Helvetica commented approaching her whiteboard. Her remark made the class confused, “Not actual violence obviously, just some debate violence,” she added as she began writing on the board.
“My husband and I often have mini-debates, and recently this one has come up.”
Helvetica moved away from the board showcasing what she wrote, ‘Cold showers are better than hot showers.’
“Discuss,” she ordered, before sitting down at her desk.
“Well… a cold shower does help you wake up in the morning,” Odysseus observed after a few minutes of silence.
“That’s assuming everyone takes a shower in the morning,” a student mentioned.
“Taking a hot shower right before bed is the best,” another student said.
“And the steam can help clear the sinus when you take a hot shower,” Amora uttered.
“You have to admit a nice cold shower does jolt you awake,” Loki alleged, “Ice cold water ensures I am awake better than any alarm!”
“You are insane,” Amora muttered.
“Everyone here acting like they take a shower every day,” one student huffed.
“You don’t?!” Another gasped.
“No that’s insane,” Loki joked making Amora giggle, before the class erupted in a loud debate about showering and personal hygiene.
Once class ended Loki walked with Amora to her next class, “Don’t forget we have a break after this class,” she said, stopping at the class door.
“Ya’ know it’s odd, in America we don’t get breaks in the middle of our class periods, I won’t know what to do with the extra 20 minutes,” Amora verbalized.
Loki smiled slightly, “Well you could spend it with me, I can show you one of my favorite places to hide on campus.”
“That sounds like a date,” Amora replied with a smile, making Loki blush a hot pink.
“I-I’m going to go to Algebra now!” Loki almost shouted before leaving Amora to enter her next class, Fashion Studies.
Loki must have bad Rosacea if her face is always red. Nevertheless, Amora looked around the room, seeing an open seat next to a blonde girl around her age, she was wearing a dark red coat dress, with her curls waterfalling down her shoulders.
“Can I sit here?” Amora asked.
The girl looked over at Amora almost turning up her nose in a way, “I guess,” she scoffed.
Amora sat down, getting out a folder for the class, “I’m Amora,” she remarked.
“Cassiopeia,” the girl in crimson sighed.
“Try and stay away from Cassiopeia… she’s will... if I’m an acquired taste, she’s not even tastable.”
Loki did say some things about Cassiopeia, but it’s not up to Loki who Amora does and doesn’t talk to, and who she does and does not get along with.
“Wait… you’re the American,” Cassiopeia gasped.
She said it like a slur, Amora giggled, “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to being known as ‘the American’ but yeah.”
“You killed someone. Didn’t you?”
“Excuse me?”
“To be friendly with Loki you must have done something terrible to gain her favor,” Cassiopeia chuckled, “So did you kill someone, giving someone a good beating with your little hands?”
“I-I didn’t—”
“You-You? HA, you, an American, do not come to this school out of the blue for your last year of schooling,” Cassiopeia explained in her own twisted way, her voice is so light and soft, yet she speaks in such a way that makes her sound so intimidating.
Amora was left unable to speak, she only watched the classroom fill with students. All of them were seemingly more friendly than Cassiopeia who she sat beside.
“I bet you hurt someone!” Cassiopeia exclaimed softly, “I bet you have beaten the ever-loving crap out of so many people that your parents didn’t want to put up with you. HA, dressing all cutesy in pink doesn’t just magically make you a good person, like you think it does.”
It’s so childish, everything down to the words being said. So stupid and plain, movies and TV have made better bullies with more interesting insults!
And yet Cassiopeia’s words hurt all the same. Mostly because it’s true!
Amora’s lucky that it’s the first day, the amount of information she retained from her Fashion Studies teacher was far and in-between, which sucks when she saw she could take the class she was excited for.
“Amora?”
She looked down the almost clear hallway, Loki approached as she stood outside the classroom, she was just in.
“Amora, you okay?” The British girl asked.
“I… I met Cassiopeia…”
Loki formed a scowl on her face, as she looked at Amora who looked unbelievably dejected. The brunette grabbed the blonde’s wrist pulling her through the halls, before arriving at an old dark stairwell with a window looking out to the front of the main campus.
“No one is going to come here. We don’t have to talk, we can just stay here,” Loki mentioned, standing on the landing between the two set staircases, looking out the window and watching Helvetica greet someone on a motorcycle with a kiss in the parking lot.
The two girls fall silent for what feels like the first time since they met, there is a sense of comfort within the silence, yet the gloomy look on Amora makes Loki’s stomach turn as the blondie sat on the steps, her knees in her chest.
“If I tell you something,” Amora began, “will promise not to tell anyone?”
“Promise,” Loki replied quickly, “I may like to talk, but I know when to keep my mouth shut.”
Amora smiled at her joke before sighing, “Back in July… there was this pool party at this rich guy’s house, and Bellamy and I got invited. It wasn’t like a stereotypical party - I mean some people were drinking – but we weren’t. Everyone was outside, and Bellamy said she was going inside to get something to drink, and this guy Reese followed her.”
Loki cringed already putting the puzzle together as Amora attempted to make herself smaller, “I heard Bellamy scream, but even though it was loud outside I know my best friend! And he was on top of her and trying to pull off her swimsuit on the kitchen counters! And that’s my best friend! I grabbed the first thing I could find which was a knife and I… I stabbed him, and then I didn’t think that was enough so I punched him in the face a few times… then someone called the police because I stabbed Resse, which I mean I would have done the same thing if I saw someone stab a guy!”
Loki attempted to speak, yet Amora continued, “Cassiopeia was being a bully, and I mean it’s so stupid now! She didn’t even have good insults, she just scoffed and me being friendly with you basically, as if hanging around you makes me a heathen! But she called me a monster and say some crap that was too accurate and… it bothered me because I haven’t told anyone what happened that night!”
The brunette nodded before humming and saying, “Do you of the Gloucester Executioner?”
Amora moved her gaze from her shoes to Loki, who stared out the window with her lips in a thin line, “I think so, Sullivan Holloway, right? He murdered 35 people off and on for 26 years while he was a nurse, it was a big thing like 10 years ago because he was finally arrested.”
“He’s my dad.”
Silent again before Loki spoke up, “Everyone around here knows it, that’s why Cassiopeia says all that shit. I doubt if she knew you were hanging around me, she would been more friendly. She has her ass so far up her own ass that she thinks Lance Luther and I are all going to be crazed murderers. I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing,” Amora scoffed, “You didn’t do anything.”
“I—”
“No, she’s stupid,” Amora replied, making Loki snicker, “Whether I am hanging around you or not shouldn’t matter, it’s not going to make me a horrible person if I’m friends with you.”
“I don’t know,” Loki chuckled, “It might, I could rub off on you.”
Amora giggled a little, “That will never happen, and you are an acquired taste I don’t wish to acquire, remember!”
“Right… Lovely~”
The nickname made the blondie blush in the darkness of the stairwell, “I’m sorry about your dad,” Amora sighed softly.
“I mean that’s why I want to get into psychology and criminal justice,” the brunette shrugged, referring to a past conversation they had the night before, “I want it an idea of why he did what he did, without having to ask him directly.”
Amora hummed, standing up from the stairs, “Thank you for listening… and sharing.”
“No problem… I have to go downstairs for Chemistry, but I’ll see you in Home Economics, okay?”
“Okay,” Amora replied with a slight smile.
There is a moment where they stare at one another, as if something is supposed to happen, yet nothing does and they go in opposite directions, to head to class. Amora to the 3rd floor for Trigonometry and Loki to the first for Chemistry.
She sat at a lab table close to a window with her larger brother, Luther, dressed in a retro gentleman style sitting to her right, and her nerdy brother, Lance, dressed in a more academic style sitting across from her with Odysseus sitting next to him. The teacher had already gone through all the first-day normalcy and allowed his students to chill before their next class. Leaving everyone to chit-chat with one another at their four-seat tables.
“Sis?” Lance asked as Loki stared out the window.
She didn’t respond, still staring out the window her chin resting in her hand as she was lost in thought.
“Loki,” Luther stated elbowing her in the side lightly.
“Huh? What!”
“What’s wrong?” Lance questioned.
“Nothing—”
“Liar,” Luther scoffed, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m worried about Amora,” she sighed.
“Worried how?” Lance asked.
“Cassiopeia was a bitch to her basically because of me,” Loki answered.
“Okay and?” Luther sighed, “Cassiopeia is a bitch to everyone.”
“But she’s being mean to Amora because she is roommates with me, because she is nice to me, and I don’t want to make her life even more horrible just because she’s roommates with me.” Loki exclaimed, “I like Amora, she’s… ha… lovely, I don’t want her to suffer because I exist.”
Loki also felt horrible about all the stuff that Amora told her, but it’s not her place to repeat that story to anyone even her brothers.
“If I can interject,” Odysseus remarked softly, “If Amora didn’t like being around you, she would have already done or said something to infer that.”
“She’s already not like your other roommates,” Luther commented.
Loki nodded, “I’m just worried about her…”
Luther scoffed, “Don’t fall in love too fast, menace.”
A soft pink blush appeared on her cheeks, “I think it’s too late for that.”
The day went on without issue, Amora went on to discover Iphigenie was in her Trigonometry, and even though they didn’t speak to each other that much as being in the class together, it was not that Amora wanted to do much talking. She met Cassiopeia’s twin sister Calliope in her Home Economics class (a class she also had with Euphrasie and Loki) she was much kinder, shyer, and quieter than her sister dispute looked a lot like her. The American girl went on to formally meet Luther and Lance at lunch then followed Loki and Lance to European History that they then had with Odysseus, who she then had Latin with.
Even though the day ended at two o'clock in the afternoon, it had been a long day and all Amora wanted to do was go back to her dorm room and hide in between the sheets of her bed.
When walking back into the dorm hall with Loki the two of them were stopped by Euphrasie.
“Hey, Loki, do you have an Ouija board?” they asked.
“No,” Loki replied, “Lance might, he likes collecting all kinds of board game stuff.”
“Okay, thanks!”
“Why do need an Ouija board?” Amora questioned her voice laced with a tired tone.
“I wanna get a bunch of us together and talk to the ghost on campus!” Euphrasie exclaimed extremely animated, “As soon as I find one we’re all getting together in the storage room and talking to the ghost!”
Loki and Amora watched their classmate run off to find an Ouija board before laughing, “That sounds interesting,” Amora commented as they started walking to their dorm
“Really?” Loki scoffed, “It sounds like a lame excuse to make us all get along.”
“But if there are actually ghosts, it would be cool to communicate with them,” Amora replied.
“So, I guess if we are going to the ghost club?” Loki asked.
“You don’t have to, but I am going whenever it happens,” Amora replied.
“Oh Lovely, if you’re going that gives me more of a reason to go,” Loki responded with a slight smirk.

Moments Of Bliss
Summary- 3.1k Paul Diskant x You. (Street Kings AU) One of Paul’s rare days off, he surprises you in bed with one of your favorite treats. Warnings- Smut. Female receiving oral.
A/N- this is pure self indulgence for myself because 1. I love the idea of biting on a mans chain, one mans chain specifically. Its just a overall weakness I have, wanna know what its like? Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for Mike’s suspenders, its exactly like that seeing that chain. 2. Paul Diskant doesn't typically get a lot of stories. But I enjoyed him and his story and I aim to give him something better then he got in Street Kings.
Tumblr media
You rolled in bed and was not surprised to find Paul’s spot slowly cooling. Although a glance at your bedside clock showed 7:30 am, which for you was early, it was sufficiently late for Paul. You moaned into your pillow and contemplated going back to sleep for another half hour. It's not like either of you actually had anywhere to go, and you sighed in content as you hugged his pillow to your chest and buried your face into the softness, the house so damn quiet in the morning hours. Typically now Paul would be rushing around the bedroom to gather his badge, wallet and suit jacket before leaning over you to give you a quick kiss before out the door, not wanting to be late.
Today you could hear the tap tap tap of the bathroom tub, the creak of the floorboard in the kitchen that expanded once in a while and rubbed squeakily. Outside the window, people were starting their cars and rushing to turn down their radios, clearly not the same person as they were the night before with the blasting music.
You also heard the front door swing open and a soft whistle float through the house. You hid a smile into that pillow and buried further under the comforter as the sound of feet descended the stairs towards the bedroom, and the door creaked open to Paul coming in with a pink bakery box, smirking to himself when he saw you wriggle in bed to get comfortable once more.
“Y/N, you know you wanna get up.” Paul set the box down at the end of the bed and moved to sit on the edge of the bed, lifting the blanket up so that he could look down at you with your hair all over the pillow, your face buried from the light and a groan spilling from you, muffling your voice into the pillow.
“Paul It’s too early. Leave me alone.” you grumbled, trying to pull away from him to the other side, but his hand was firm on your hip, holding you in place and easing you to turn.
“I got your favorite.” He tried once more, easing you to your back and you blinked up at him. His grin crooked as he looked down at you and he tilted down to place a teasing kiss on your lips, a slight press of tongue and teeth which tasted sweet, a bit of grit from unmelted sugar on his bottom lip was sure to pass on to you and when he pulled away, the dart of your tongue traced your lip, your eyes narrowing at him.
“You eating donuts without me Detective?” You contemplate sneaking the blanket over your head before Paul can tempt you further, but he pulls open the box to show the delectable homemade treats. A couple donuts, but the one your eyes fell onto was the plump boston creams that were covered in a thick chocolate ganache coating and filled with the most decadent rich cream. Paul knew they were your forever weakness.
“Sounds like you are the detective, not me.” He smirks as he waves the box just out of reach and you have to shift to reach in and take your prize. Moving to a sit and plucking out the treat, you grin at him.
“They can't pay me enough at the precinct to hire me.” You purred as you squeeze the baked treat just a bit and dip your finger in the filling dribbling out. Paul set the box aside and snorted seeing you enjoying the first swipe of your finger through the cream filling. Popping your finger in your mouth, your eyes roll up dramatically as you moan around your finger. “Best thing I've ever had.”
You can tell by the knowing smirk on his face and the glint in his eyes that immediate dirty thoughts went through his mind as he hovered over you, pressing you back against the pillows while he looked you up and down. You snapped a bite in your breakfast while settling back down. “That's what you said to me last night on your knees baby, so which is better? Me or that Boston Cream?”
Your eyes drifted from the donut and then back up at him. “It’s up for debate at the moment, this is pretty fucking good.” You hold it up to him to take a bite, which he does. The chocolate smears on his bottom lip, and you tilt your head up to catch his mouth, your tongue rolling in the sweetness to mix with his own natural taste. An intoxicating mix, your teeth nipped eagerly at him which caused an illicit groan to fall from Paul into your mouth. He pressed his hand against the side of your face, wrapping a hand around the back of your neck to tilt you up closer, taking his time to savor you. With a groan he pulls up to a kneel, his arm going over his shoulder to grasp his shirt and shuck it over his head.
You are taking one last bite of your donut before tossing it back into the box nearby, your eyes skating appreciatively over Paul's naked torso. Years of being on the force before he was made detective kept his body firm. Under your gaze, his muscles flexed and a cocky grin formed on his face. “Liking what you see?”
You wrap your legs around his slender hips and reach up to wrap your hand in the dangling chain resting against his chest. “Get your ass down here Diskant.” you giggle and he falls over you with a grunt, hands on either side of your head.
“Yes Ma’am.” he teased while nipping against your lips before traveling down your neck, his hand pushing your sleep tank up over your head so he could keep chaining kisses down your body while grinding his hips into yours.
Your hands tugged impatiently at his belt while you threw your head back, his mouth wet heat against your breasts as he kept chaining kisses and sucking on the curve of your breast in that way he knew would make you arch into him, asking for more. “Paul, it's your day off.” You whined out, sinking your teeth into your bottom lip as you tried to work his belt open. “Why did you even wear these.”
Lapping at a nipple and sinking teeth around it, he smirked and pushed your hands away from the buckle. “To make you all impatient Sweetheart...” He flicked the buckle open and pulled himself up to yank his belt out of the loops and held out his hand for yours. You willingly held out your hands so he could wrap the leather to lope around your wrists and tighten. Pulling your hands up to the headboard, he wrapped the other end around and knotted it, restraining you.
You tested it, pulling on your arms and twisting your hands a moment while he fell back over you, his pendant bouncing cooly off your heated skin while he kissed you breathless, already the ache to rub your hands over his back making you wriggle and tug again at your restraint. “You're playing dirty.” You accuse and he rolls a muscled shoulder with a wink.
“I know you like it.” His hands ran down your side to stretch your out, sliding down the bed while hooking fingers into your sleep shorts and drawing them down your legs to ditch them over his shoulder. There was just something that made you squirm watching him work his way down your body, the drag of his pendant along the center of your body, hot mouth chasing after it. Wide shoulders spread your thighs apart, the bristles of his chin pressing against your inner thighs. You pressed your feet against the mattress to arch your hips up, an urgent request for him to touch you where you needed him.
Blue eyes glinted up at you, the tick in his jaw showing his amusement at your still demanding nature, even when he took away your ability to touch. “Where do you want me baby? Here?” He flexed his fingers around your hips while nipping just below your belly button.
“Paul…” You hummed in warning.
“Maybe here?” his tongue trailed over the top of your mound, but refusing to go lower yet. “Mmh, I can smell how turned on you are Pretty Girl.” Moving his hands to your thighs, he spread them further, now leaving marks on your quivering inside thighs. You groaned above him, rocking yourself as much as possible.
“I swear to god Diskant… if you dont-”
Your words were cut off when he buried his mouth against your center, running his tongue along your folds. Changing your tone from frustrated to excited. Your thighs strained wider for him, his tongue spearing into your channel to make your walls flutter around him and threw your head back when he played with your clit, driving you wild with the suckling tugs against the nerves. “- Yes, just like that.” You moaned, your fingers twisting into the leather belt holding them above your head. Head tipping back while sucking on your bottom lip, eyes closed to just enjoy the feeling of his mouth on you. Flutters rolled through your abdomen the higher he brought you.
A thick digit pressed into you, grasping heatedly around him as he striked a fingertips against your velvet fluttering walls, slick escaping you that he cleaned enthusiastically. “I think tying you up Pretty Girl really turns you on. You are so wet and wanting.” He added another finger to stretch you, scissoring you open even as hard as you clenched around him while he twisted his wrist, seeking to make you cum for him. “You are clenching so hard, fuck its going to feel good when my cock is buried deep in this sweet pussy.”
His words made you that much more heated, your belly tightening trying to hold back from coming too soon, but it was all in vain cause as soon as he pressed against the sweet spongy spot deep inside, you cried out, letting Paul know he had it.
He was relentless, pumping faster till he had you coming all over his hand, those spiraling coils snapping your nerves till you were tugging harder at your hands and tensing to bed your back. “Oh god, oh fuck” You sagged back into the bed and Paul shook his head, sucking on his drenched fingers as he fell in between your hips, the zipper of his slacks biting into your skin while he pulled his fingers out of his mouth with a pop. “Better then anything from that bakery.”
You opened one eye and licked at your lips to moisten them. “Oh I don’t know. That donut was pretty amazing.” He narrowed his eyes at you while shifting over your body and worked his zipper open and pants to slide down his waist enough to release his erection. Tapping his hand against your thigh to lift them around his hips. You shifted your body underneath him to wrap both legs around his hips and Paul nipped at your lips, sliding his tongue around yours with a forceful claim, groaning in the kiss. You caught a heady taste of your own arousal smeared against his tongue and it made your stomach clench in anticipation.
“I will be the judge of that Sweetheart.” His hand digging into the round muscle of your ass to tilt you towards him. His cock sliding up and down through your folds, tip pressing just inside of you. Palming a breast, to keep your senses swarming, Paul chained kisses against your jaw. Nipping and huffing against your pulse that made you throw your head to the side so he would keep going, a roll of his hips burying himself thickly into you. Drag of his thick cock, throbbing veins dragging against your swollen walls that had you fluttering around him to stretch for him. “Fuck your just so hot and tight Pretty Girl.” He hissed against you as he started to thrust harder with soft grunts. His body curling over yours, tight, taunt and primed. One hand lifted enough to grab over your hands above him and arched himself up to get leverage for harder deeper strokes pounding into you, your eyes drifted up with fluttering lashes to feel your breath escape your lungs. His shoulders bunched above you, the tendons in his neck prominent as his jaw clenched, eyes screwed shut as he got lost in feeling you take him. Your fingers twisted against the leather belt, nails biting into Paul's palm with an urgency. Just above your face the saint pendant you had purchased him bounced and glistened in the morning light. You felt the urge to feel the bite of the metal between your teeth, heavy on your tongue. Jerking your head up, you grabbed the chain bouncing with a curl of your tongue and drew it between your teeth to bite down.
Metallic and a touch salty with the taste of Paul’s skin flooded your mouth. It gritted between your teeth unforgiving and relished feeling it clash against your teeth. The sharpness of the chain dug into the back of Paul’s neck, making him grunt at the feeling while dropping down to his elbow at the side of your head, glancing down to see you biting his chain. “Fuck Dahlin’ your so fucking hot.” He sputtered while fisting his hand in your hair, sharply tilting your head back while he sped up, watching you struggle to hold onto his chain and cry out when he hit your g spot. “Thats right Love, fuck- just cum all over my dick. I can feel you want to.”
You did, your hands tugging at the belt and your body arched into his till he drove it back into the mattress. Clenching around him and whipping your head to the side, Paul hissed against your shoulder and bit down while he sought his own ending, giving dirty grinds with his pelvis.
Spirals of heat tightened your body, your mouth falling open, his chain falling loose to wetly press between your chests while Paul fell over top of you, heated ribbons of cum spilled into you, both of you sweaty and limp tangled together.
Your arms shook above you tiredly and all you could feel was Paul's weight pressing down on you, his own breaths still ragged and gasping. Loosening your legs around his waist and sliding a foot against the back of his thighs, you tilted your face into his hair, the soft bristles tickling your nose and lips while you whispered.
“I'm going to be feeling you for days.” You hummed and he chuckled against your shoulder, planting his elbow against the bed to roll off you a bit and rub at your side.
“Then I'm going to say I did my job.”
You rolled your eyes at his cocky response, shaking your arms a bit so the headboard rattled. “Efficiently Diskant, might give you a raise after you untie me.”
Pulling out of you and pushing himself up to work on the belt, unlooping it from its knot and once it was loose enough, your arms sunk back down to your body, making you groan in relief. He moved to a sit next to you and started rubbing at your upper arms while you worked your wrists back and forth. “I'm just doing my duty Love, no need to pay me. Are your wrists okay?”
Pushing against him to fall back against the bed, you scramble to straddle him with a smirk, your foot accidentally kicking the box of donuts off the bed long forgotten now. “I would have told you if I needed you to let me go Handsome. Fine, no raise, but I think you're going to like this better anyways.” You start making your way down his body while looking up at him through your lashes and Paul's eyes grew wide.
“Second thought, I will happily take this anyday.”
The day wore on with you two taking advantage of Paul’s rare day off, tiredly you both ended up on the couch that evening with take out boxes scattered on the coffee table and the television playing on the ID channel. It had become a game for the two of you to try to guess the killer. Paul’s fingers danced up your back while your head rested on his stomach. “You know it's the neighbor. Only reasonable suspect.” Paul announced and you scoffed.
“Excuse me? It's the father in law and his new wife. All the signs are there.”
Paul seemed to contemplate what you were saying and finally huffed out. “Perhaps, I'm still saying ten bucks on the neighbor.”
“You are on Diskant.” You chuckled against the soft cotton of his shirt. Your arm squeezing around him a bit tighter in an all over content feeling, thinking about your early morning wake up which you were still feeling in your shoulders and upper arms. As if he knew, his touch went to your shoulder, rolling his fingers against your shoulder blades and up to the little knot below your neck.
You gave a soft moan in satisfaction that made him press down harder, rolling it under his fingertips. “That feels good…”
“I can tell. Still sore Baby?” He brushed his fingers through your hair and you rolled to your back so you could look up at him, shaking our head.
“Only the good kind of sore. I swear.” You wiggled your nose up at him playfully and he chuckled.
“Okay if you say so. Anything I can get you? I'm going to go grab a beer.” He shifted and you pulled yourself up, giving it some serious thought. When he moved to a stand, you nodded.
“Yea, can you go get our donuts off the bedroom floor? I still have half a boston cream in there.”
He arched a brow while heading up the stairs, smirking a bit. “Thought you got enough cream earlier baby?”
You flipped him off while sticking out your tongue before turning back to the tv show. “It wasn't as much as you think.” Causing him to laugh while going up the stairs. You paid attention to the show and sighed when they announced who the killer was. You should have known Paul was going to figure out who actually killed the victim.
As Paul came back in, dropping the box of donuts on the coffee table and falling down on the couch next to you while unscrewing the top to his Samuel Adams. “You called it, totally the neighbor.” You leaned forward to grab the box and Paul shrugged.
“Those detective skills finally kicked in Pretty Girl.”
You flipped open the box top and grabbed your forgotten desert, settling back in your previous spot with your head pillowed on his stomach, resuming the tv program. “Yeah yeah, you just got lucky this time.”

Day In The Woods
Arvin Russell x Reader
Author's Note: Few things, writing on mobile so there's no keep reading so I apologise. Also I've had a headache all day so bad it felt like being stabbed on the front and side of my forehead at work so I will do my best on this, I just really felt the urge to write and with my anxiety my desire comes and goes so I am taking it while it's here lol. Hope y'all enjoy. 😚
Warnings: fluff, so much fluff, shove a Twinkie in your mouth soft smushie sugar cream filled sweetness and fluff
Summary: You convince Arvin to have a picnic in a special place with you and your daughter Angel
Tumblr media
"Arvin, relax baby, she's alright," you laugh as you follow behind him and he follows her. You loved the view to be honest, his shoulders denim clad in that Jean jacket that fit him so nice and you loved how his arms were moving as he walked, not to mention his ass like a peach in those jeans. Aside from him the woods were beautiful right now with all the colors of fall, the reds and oranges and yellows and browns. He was on a mission, his only sight was her.
"I told ya I don't wanna come to the woods," he says as he takes steady strides behind her and she runs a little ways ahead giggling.
"Look how pretty it is though, and the weather is nice and cool, it's nice for a picnic and listen to her enjoy herself honey-Arvin what is that?" You ask wide eyed as his jacket moves just enough to reveal it in the back of his pants.
"We're just makin' sandwhiches the hell you need that for?" "I ain't gonna use it 'less I got to," he assures you without even looking back, still focused completely on her, "Hey, I can't hear ya, sing louder!" He calls out to her.
"I still hear he-" "Angel, sing louder!" It was hard to hear the crunches of leaves and sticks under her little foot steps over the much louder ones coming from your feet and his and he did not like that. "Angel Lenora Russel, when the night," he calls and sings
"has come," you both hear her sing back and you see a smile return to his face as he sings back, "and the land is dark"
"And the moon," she continues
You cross your arms over your chest and listen to your song birds as the walk goes on, "is the only," he sings back
"light we see"
"No, I won't"
"Be afraid"
"No, I won't"
"Be afraid"
"Just as long"
"As you stand"
"Stand by me"
"Stand by me," after she sings this line you decide you want in on it.
"And darlin darlin," you sing out to them, "darlin," he keeps going, smiling back at you over his shoulder
"Darlin," you add smirking and he winks playfully making you giggle
"stand," you hear her, you loved your daughter's voice
"by me," he gets louder as he is getting into the song, "and if the sky"
"we look up on," the little girl's voice sings back, almost knowing the words
"should tumble and fall," he sings back
"or the mountain"
"should crumble"
"to the sea!" She gets excited and he chuckles
"I won't cry!"
"I won't cry!"
"no I won't!"
"shed tear!"
"just as long as you stand!"
"stand by me! Darlin!"
"darlin!" He heard she was closer now so he starts making sneaky steps and you shake your head, "Arvin-," he looks back to you and smiles putting a finger to his lips and smiling, "by me!"
"stand!"
"by me!"
"won't you stand?! Won't you stand!?"
"by me!" He sings and lunches forward behind her to scoop her up from behind. She screams caught off guard then giggles and he tips her for cheek kisses and carries her on his hip.
You couldn't ask for a better day, you had been asking Arvin to do this for weeks now.
"I think there is a clear spot up here that's good," you tell them as you near a spot you remember where you and your family used to picnic. Stepping up to walk behind him you lean against his back to kiss his ear, "darlin, darlin, stand by me," you grab his butt as you sang by me and he jumps.
"Hey!"
"what?" She asks curiously, "nothing baby, mommy is being a bad girl"
"you get spankins'," she giggles and points
"yeah she does" "no, I don't like spankins'," you tease, biting your thumb nail and making innocent eyes. "Mommy says she no likes spankins'" "yeah she does," he laughs and you smack the back of his head and steal his hat, putting it on her head.
"I'm daddy!" She giggles, "you're heavy, too many donuts"
"wonder where she got that from?"
"us," he laughs, "finally," he sits her down and straightens her dress down when you all finally arrive. "You okay darlin'?" He asks looking up at you stare at the space. "Darlin?"
"Huh?" "You just stared out there for about," he checks his watch, "five minutes, you okay?"
"yeah," you nod honestly and lay out the blanket. You had just got a vision of a memory. Your aunt and you with your Ma and Pa and your big sister there laughing before life took a turn for the worst.
"Angel, this is where mommy used to come with her mommy and daddy, and her big sister and her aunt"
"wow," she says amazed and happily accepts the peanut butter and jelly sandwich you give her as she runs around playing with the leaves. You and Arwin sit and you lean against him, "I think it's a good day to tell her"
"Lenora, 'mere," he calls her over and she comes running, crawling to sit on his lap.
"we have a surprise for you," you tell her.
"really?" She asks, a sparkle in her eye
"mhm, your mommy and I are gonna make you a big sister......"
"yay! Yay!" She bounces
"We thought you might want to name them"
"oh my gosh!" She covers her mouth that had formed a o shape with her hands
"we don't know if it's a brother or sister yet though," he tells her, tucking hair behind her ear and wiping jelly off of her cheeks, licking some of it.
"Lenny!"
"Lenny and Lenora," you repeat. "I like it, and it works for a boy or girl" "Lenny it is"
"I gonna be the best big sister," she giggles
"I'm sure you will, I was a big brother so I can show you how to"
"okay and Lenny can sing too?"
"After a while," he laughs
"and we can come here 'gin?"
"sure, if mommy says it's okay"
"oh, so I have to beg for weeks but she asks and it's sure?" You ask, pretending to be offended and he shrugs.
"I guess you say," he stands her up
"what can make feel this way," she joins him
"my girl," he smiles
"I'm not your girl?"
"Nope, youre my lady"
"Damn, you are smooth Arvin Rusell"
"Like a sandwhich?"
"I'm gonna go," she tries to get up and run off, "stand by me while I eat, I can't watch you," he explains pulling her to sit back on his lap and holding her with a arm around her, smoothing her dress down. "Okay," she giggles not understanding as you give the three year old some milk and a kiss and you kiss his cheek.
"Arvin....you okay?" You ask seeing there is more going on, there's a reason he's like this, he simply nods and when you kiss him softly he kisses you back and smiles. "Angel, after daddy eats you can both go play. Do we have a rake in the car?"
"the trunk maybe?" He says confused and you get up to start running back to the car but he grips your wrist quickly. "You too."
"Arvin, I have a idea. I'm just gonna go get the ra-," he gently pulls you down so you're laying on your back on the blanket and holds your wrist down with one hand, her with his other arm on his side, his sandwhich had fallen and he didn't care. He leans over you and she giggles because he's holding her, he kisses you deeply erasing the idea you had from your head, "stay. We can all go back together and get the rake after I eat but as long as we are in the woods, you two are staying with me, understood?" He says a inch away from your lips, nose brushing against yours. What else can you do but nod and stay, and make him another sandwhich after you all sit back up that isn't covered in leaves.

Soul to Souls Master List
Tumblr media
All in all, it took Dean three days to track and put down the werewolf with Annaleigh’s help. Her research capabilities and knowledge of the area came in handy. He talked to the Sheriff, the Game Warden, even the folks at the local animal shelter. She knew the people here, which was helpful. He had to take her along on a couple interviews with the locals, because they wouldn’t talk to Dean, but they would talk to her.
Annaleigh brought Dean to her friends’ comic book store, Betsie’s Best Comics. The manager there, Mandi, and her employee told them about their friend and owner Betsie, who was the first body found out by the creek. Mandi wouldn’t look at Dean, but Annaleigh got her to open up.  She told them everything, even how Betsie had left her the store. Mandi was crying, a lot, and Dean found himself growing uncomfortable. Man, Sammy is so much better with the whole emotions thing, Dean thought to himself. Emotions weren’t Dean’s deal and he found himself grateful, more than once, that Annaleigh was with him on this one.
After they walked out of the comic book store, he looked around the main drag, feeling that familiar grumble in his stomach. “I need food,” Dean grunted, slightly irritated.
“Here,” she said, grabbing his hand and leading him into yet another store front. This one was different. This one smelled delicious. Dean’s eyes darted around the small shop. He eyed the pastries, donuts, cakes, cookies. And there, in the last case on the left, pie. They had cherry, pumpkin, apple, blueberry, all his personal favorites. But no pecan, story of his life.
“Hey there, Annaleigh! Who’s your super hot friend?” He heard one of the girls behind the counter giggle as she wiped her flour covered hands on a towel.
“Oh, is Anna here?” Dean heard another voice call out from somewhere, preceding another woman coming from the back. Two blondes stood behind the counter and just stared at him, eyeing him like he was one of the treats in their cases. They must have been sisters, huge matching smiles on their faces, as Annaleigh shut the door behind them.
“Hi, girls! It has been too long since I have been in here! I forgot how good it smells, and now I want something to eat!” Annaleigh practically shouted. “Oh, and this super hot guy is my friend, Dean Winchester. Dean, please meet Trista and Cora Dozier, owners of this fine establishment, Two Sisters Bakery. Best pastries in town and best pie this side of the Mississippi.”
“You had me at pie. Ladies, it is a pleasure to meet you,” Dean shook each of their hands gently as his eyes wandered back to the display case filled with pie, unconsciously licking his lips.
“What’s your poison, Dean?” Trista asked with a wink and a smile.
He smiled wide and sheepishly replied, “Cherry, please. And, apple. Oh, and a slice of blueberry and banana cream to go please. If it’s not too much trouble.”
“Too much trouble? Not at all, pie is what we do!” Cora piped up from behind the counter. “Are you sure you don’t want to try my famous french silk or maybe the pecan? I just took it out of the oven and it should be ready for serving right about now,” she said, drawing it out as she glanced down at her watch.
“Hell yes!” he exclaimed, maybe a little too excited. If you asked Dean, he hadn’t had a good pie in months. He ate a decent slice weekly at least, but not truly good pie, with the perfectly flaky homemade crust. He took the plate she offered with three different flavors. Annaleigh had a slice of the french silk and they sat down at one of the small tables with their delicious treats and coffee.
Annaleigh looked at Dean again with those damn eyes. Her lashes were unbelievably long and curling up as they searched his own emerald ones. With the last fork full of apple pie halfway to his mouth, he stopped, sighed and put the fork down. “What?” he asked her.
She just giggled, like the two sisters staring at them from behind the counter, trying to look busy but failing. “I have heard so much about you from Bobby over the last few years. I feel like I know you. For example, I know you are saving the pecan for last because it is your favorite. I know that you love that damn car more than life itself. I know that you love classic rock and chick flicks...and I know that you blame yourself for Sam.”
She laid her hand over his on the table, and her eyes welled up with tears but she blinked them back and continued. “Dean,” Annaleigh hesitates, choosing her next words meticulously. She feared he would run, and she worried that she would lose him, before she had the chance to really know him.
“I-it’s not your fault. Sam made this choice. Y-you could not have stopped him.” She paused to take a breath, a moment to collect her thoughts.
“I-I don’t wanna talk about it,” Dean whispered, blinking back the burning behind his eyelids, praying the tears would stay at bay. He pulled back in an attempt to untangle his hands from hers.
“Y-you can’t bring him back. I am sorry for what happened, but you and your brother? You saved the w-world,” she wept in hushed tones, her hands clinging tightly to his, but she pushed through the emotions threatening to drown them both. “Your brother m-made the ultimate sacrifice and saved billions of innocent souls. I know you don’t want to hear it, but I, for one, am grateful. I know how hard this life can be. I lost a brother, too. And more friends than I care to count.”
She removed her hand from his and Dean immediately missed it, the softness, the warmth, the human connection, that he had been craving. Shaking his head, Dean wiped his face, knowing his emotions had betrayed him and cleared his throat before he spoke, attempting to sound stronger than he felt. His voice was barely audible as he growled. “What am I supposed to do now? You seem to know everything about me, so tell me, Red, what am I supposed to do now?”
He looked down, trying to avoid her gaze, but not entirely able to. Her eyes were blue, ocean blue, bright and sparkling, and he couldn’t keep away, like a moth to the flame. Instead of answering his questions, she stood, boxing up the remaining slices. “Come on, let’s go back to my place, away from the prying eyes of the Giggle Twins. I will explain it all to you, in time.”
Twenty minutes later, they rolled down her driveway, and Dean put Baby into park, got out and opened the back door to grab the pie. As he turned to walk toward her house, Annaleigh flung herself against him, one hand on the back of his neck, standing on her tiptoes and slowly pulling him down to her. She leaned in and closed her eyes as she gently pressed up on her toes, inching closer to him than she had been so far. She opened her eyes, lashes fluttering as she gazed upon his face.
As she pulled back, he could see her face clearly, a small smile tugging at one corner of her mouth. She placed her hand in his, then grabbed the pie and ran off towards her massage studio at the back of her property, laughing maniacally. Dean just stood there, stunned, and shook his head, silently wondering what he had gotten himself into by agreeing to take this hunt. His body tingled from the feel of her pressed against him, as if he could still feel her softness, and smell the lingering chocolate in the air.
Dean followed after her slowly, not sure what his next move should be or even if there should be a next move. He vaguely remembered arriving three days ago, wanting to get out of this town as fast as possible after the case, but now, he wasn’t so sure.
By the time he made his way into Annaleigh’s studio, she had changed into a bright blue tank top and leggings. She was standing at the counter, pouring whiskey into two glasses, hips swaying slightly to some country music she had turned on. Dean didn’t recognize the tune, but he wasn’t totally against country music. Bobby was like a father to him, and he had played it enough that Dean had gotten used to it over the years. It wouldn’t be his first choice but then again, this wasn’t his car where he picked the music. Here, he was not the driver, so he kept his mouth shut.
Dean slid off his suit jacket and laid it on the counter behind her. He loosened his tie and walked around the small island until he was standing directly behind Annaleigh. Without thinking, he gently placed his hands on her hips and lowered himself enough so his head rested on her shoulder. With a low chuckle, Dean snaked one hand around her waist and grabbed a glass. He brought it to his lips and took a nice long drink of the warm amber liquid.
Dean glanced around the studio she had converted on her property and admired what she had done with it. It was petite, but charming, like her. There were a couple of stools around the island, a waiting area of sorts. Wandering the space, he took in the small touches that she had added, while she continued swaying and singing softly in the small kitchenette. In the back corner was a bedroom that she had converted into a massage room. Dean pushed the door open and walked inside. Candles flickered, bathing the room in a soft glow, scented lightly of flowers and fruit; subtle, but comforting.
“Take your clothes off and get on the table face down.”
Dean jumped a little as he heard her voice behind him. “I didn’t peg you as a Dom, Red. But I have to admit, I kinda like it,” he replied as he turned around and untucked his shirt, a smirk playing on his face.
Did you like it? The nicest thing you can do for a writer is reblog their work and tell them, and others, how much you like it!

Spin the bottle with Sammy and Norman story?
Summary: In the immortal words of Bowling for Soup, high school never ends.
---
[[MORE]]
"Ok so, just to make sure, we're all adult men and women." Sammy shifted uncomfortable as he sat among a circle of coworkers on the floor of the breakroom.
"Yep." Grant looked just as uncomfortable, picking at his bowtie and adjusting his glasses as he glanced around.
"Then why, pray tell, are we playing spin the bottle like a bunch of college kids?" Sammy asked, glancing down at the empty licor bottle in the middle of the circle of people.
"Cuzz it's fun!" Shawn grinned. "Ya ever heard'o it? Fun?"
"Don't you sass me... And when has spin the bottle ever been fun? If memory serves right, it was more of a tool for blackmail and humiliation when I was finishing my studies." The exasperated music director pointed out.
"That's half the fun." Norman smirked. "Yous use it t'be smart. Get some good information on your peers. Have a good laugh outta someone's expense. End up playin' just as much o'the fool as 'em."
"Figured the guy twice our age with a thing for snooping would like spin the bottle." Mel snorted. "Can't say I see the appeal."
"Enough blabbering, let's get to it! We have one hour to ourselves and I wanna have fun!" Susie called above the chatter as she reached over and spun the bottle. It went for three full loops and half an arch, landing on Wally. "Ok, we're starting with Wally. Truth or dare?"
The Brooklynite looked surprised before humming in thought. He gave her a cheeky confident smile before crossing his arms.
"My ma didn't raise no chicken. Dare me!" He proclaimed proudly. "Dare me good."
"Bold! I like it." Susie smirked. "Well Wally, I'll have you know my mom didn't raise no gentle little lady that doesn't like irony. I dare you to behave like an actual chicken."
".... What, like an impression?"
"Yep. Walk, flappy wings, clucking. Heck if we have any eggs in the fridge you better go sit on them." Susie waved at him to get to it.
"Well I did ask for a dare... Erm, I mean...Bawk Bawk Bawk, ba-gawk!" At her command the young janitor began to shuffle around like a chicken. Arms tucked in and head bobbing as he moved around. That got a quick chuckle out of everyone.
"Nice..." Mel snorted "Pity we're out of eggs."
"That's good enough, your turn Wally." Susie pointed to the bottle, which the Brooklynite eagerly spun. It stopped on Shawn.
"Truth or dare?"
"I ain't enough o' a muppet t'take dares from you. Truth me." The Irishman glared.
"Hm... Is it true Joey was makin' fun o' you when he made Charley?"
"Yep. He's a god awful depiction o' a leprechaun that's greedy an' mean spirited an' I hate him." Shawn deadpanned before smirking. "But joke's on that damn racist, everyone thinks the fuckin' Butcher Gang boss is a chimp."
"Which he isn't!" Mel sounded offended.
"Anyway, takin' it for a spin." Shawn took his turn and watched the bottle intently. He looked a little dismayed when it landed on Jack. "Aw dangit... I wanted t'mess with Johnny..."
"Fucker." The organist glared. Jack looked a little nervous.
"Right Mr. Fain, truth or dare?"
"Erm... Truth?"
"Is it true ya speak three different languages?" It looked like Shawn was taking it easy on the nervous lyricist.
"Oh thank god... Yeah. English is my first, but I know Mandarin and Spanish too. Not uh, not fluently though... The Mandarin that is." He reached over for the bottle and spun it. It landed on Mel.
"Dare me."
"I haven't even--"
"Well I already picked. Dare me."
"I err, dare you to be nice to Norman?"
".... Nah. Not in my nature to like creepy snoops. First punishment of the night!" The voice actor got up. Everyone knew the two did not get along, so it was silly to think he'd accept such a dare, still Jack tried.
"Oh... Well uh, your punishment is to stand inside one of the toilets in your socks then."
"... That's nasty. You drive a hard bargain Mr. Fain..." Mel clucked his tongue in displeasure.
"Its not hard to be nice..."
"It is when it comes to Polkadot there. Goodbye my beloved striped socks, I'll have to burn thou once I'm done!" And off the man went to do the walk of shame to the bathroom.
"I don't get him..." Jack sighed "He's usually nice to everyone..."
"We just don't like each other. Ain't too hard Jack." Norman chuckled. "Someone take his turn."
Johnny took it, smirking evilly when it landed on Sammy. The blond growled slughtly. Everyone knew the two butted heads constantly, just as Mel and Norman did.
"Well well well... Look who's at my mercy." Johnny chuckled.
"Do it you bastard. Dare me."
"I dare you.... I dare you..." Johnny thought before grinning cheekily. "I dare you to french Polk for a full minute."
Sammy stared while Norman blinked in surprise. Both men exchanged looks before looking back at Johnny. Did he really just...
"Chicken out, and I'm having you kiss Joey on the lips instead. I hear his mustache tickles." Johnny's grin widened.
"Fuck no! Norman over Joey, always! The man's a sleazy creepy son of a bitch!" Sammy practically vaulted over the circle to stop in front of Norman. "And you, Brokeheart, are a bastard for pitching this at other people. Writing you out of the next bits."
"Worth it!"
"Right..." Sammy swallowed drily as he noticed Norman watching him quietly. "You ok with this?"
"I don't want yous to go off kissin' Drew either. No person deserves that sorta punishment."
"I'd probably catch something... You're a lifesaver."
"Stop with the foreplay an' kiss already!" Shawn called out.
The blond hesitated again before sucking in a breath and going for it. It wasn't like he'd never frenched anyone before... Just not a man. Especially not one twice his age that was married with kids. Still... As soon as lips connected there was... Something there.
Like an electrifying spark that only intensified when both of them parted their lips to complete the full dare.
Eyes fluttering shut, the music director and projectionist deepened the kiss, taking in the other's taste and gentle exploratory tongue movements.
Sammy noted the light taste of chapstick, cream and coffee. Norman had been lightly snacking on a box of filled donuts Susie had brought for the music department that morning, and the taste had lingered.
Norman meanwhile couldn't help smile as he tasted chocolate and peanut butter, knowing fully well that Sammy had been sneaking sweets in between recording sessions to keep himself going. It was nice. A much better taste to associate with him than the whiskey he favoured.
"Time's up." Johnny snapped his fingers. "Hey Romeo, your minute is up!"
"They are really goin' at it!" Wally marveled.
"I think it's cute." Susie smiled.
"I don't!" Mel looked appalled from all the way in the doorway "Just came back from contaminating my socks and I find the two most obnoxious jerks straddling each other and sucking face! I'm gonna have nightmares!"
"Let the love fill you with rainbows an' unicorns Melvin!" Shawn called, barely keeping himself from laughing.
"No! I am darkness incarnate! A lone wolf that needs not bare witness to the power of homosexuality!"
"Don't be dramatic you big baby!" Johnny laughed.
"You torment me so!"
"Guys they're still going at it, should we leave them to it?" Grant asked.
"Yeah let's just play without them."
And so the game carried on, until Joey came in to break up the fun. At least three people left the studio different from when they'd come in that morning.
Sammy and Norman having a lot to think about what they felt between one another, and Mel now without a pair of nice socks.

Ok, this is gunna sound weird, but bear with me. I like to play a game with writers, so like, I give them 3 words and they write a short fic about said 3 words, (if your down for it). If you are then the three words I choose are: Saiouma, cake , burpy.
oof okay this… Definitely turned out longer than expected but it was fun to actually write a stuffing scene. admittedly this is kinda my first feedism fic ha,,, also i haven’t written burps before so i hope this wasn’t too lame. OKAY. here it is! hope you like it :3

“Are… you sure?”
Kokichi nodded, eyes wide and shimmering, an enthusiastic smirk on his face. He had already eaten… quite a bit. Shuichi had fed him to a point that was beyond comfortably full, but Kokichi only wanted more. Especially when it came to anything sweet, he just… wanted… more.
Before their stuffing session began, Shuichi had brought up a few containers of food ranging from savory to sweet. Of course, it didn’t take long before Kokichi came skipping into the kitchen, eagerly pointing out what he might want for the evening.
“Ooh! Some of those!”
“What’s that? Wanna see if I like it?”
“Really, Shuichi? I’m gonna waste away if we don’t bring more. You don’t want that to happen, right?”
The two of them— well, technically just Shuichi— lugged in a couple boxes and plopped them down onto Kokichi’s bed… A box of four chocolate-frosted donuts, a container of re-heated chicken and rice, two boxes of Pocky sticks, and a six-pack of grape Panta cans— an obvious selection.
Kokichi had eaten all of it and downed two cans of Panta. Still, he wasn’t totally satisfied. He remembered seeing a couple slices of cake that looked too pretty to eat. Shuichi had moderated his choices to avoid having to carry too much food up to Kokichi’s room, but the cake was definitely something that caught the attention of both of them. Now, Kokichi was saying that his poor little tummy wasn’t full enough…
“It couldn’t hurt, right?”
Shuichi let out a breathy chuckle. “I just don’t want you to make yourself sick, Kokichi.”
“Oh, please. I can handle more than this!” He cupped his hand under his distended belly and leaned forward, narrowing his eyes at Shuichi. “You should know that more than anyone.”
Shuichi felt his breath hitch. “A-Ah, okay.”
For a moment, he rested a hand on that soft, stuffed tummy on display in front of him. Kokichi sighed quietly and sat back. Shuichi continued, tenderly plying at the pale skin beneath his fingers. A sweet smile grew on Shuichi’s face as he relaxed and began rubbing away with one hand. Kokichi looked… so content. His full belly was being attended to so well, just as it had been all night. Shuichi pressed in gently, and a quiet burp rumbled in the back of Kokichi’s throat.
Shuichi looked up with an amused grin. “You still want more, huh?”
“Nyee-hee… Duh!” Kokichi let out his signature giggle. He playfully pushed Shuichi away and lifted his arms dramatically. “Now, go! That’s an order from your overlord!”
Shuichi rolled his eyes as he stood up, looking back at Kokichi. He was trying to look intimidating, but his skinny arms, shimmering eyes, and slightly swollen belly weren’t really doing him any favors. Shuichi chuckled and shook his head.
“I’ll be right back.”
——
Tucked away nicely in the fridge were four square slices of neatly decorated strawberry shortcake… Shuichi only assumed Kirumi was responsible for work done with such expertise. Dollops of whipped frosting lined the edges. Full, fresh strawberries sat undisturbed in the center of each slice. The vanilla cake itself was layered between even more frosting and strawberries.
Perfect.
It wasn’t a rich chocolate like Kokichi usually preferred, but Shuichi assumed his boyfriend could use a break from chocolate for the night. Either way, the layers of sweet, fluffy cream tucked between the spongy cake was something Shuichi knew Kokichi wouldn’t be able to resist.
Four slices, huh? Would that be… too much? Shuichi debated for a moment before grabbing each tiny box the thick squares of cake were individually packed away in.
It wouldn’t hurt to be over-prepared.
——
Shuichi returned to Kokichi’s room, balancing each little box carefully as he opened the door. Turning around to shut it with his foot, he didn’t expect to see… Kokichi with another can of Panta to his lips, his head tilted all the way back. Shuichi just… stared as Kokichi finished it off. He sighed as he took one final gulp from the soda. Out of breath, he dropped the empty can to his lap and met Shuichi’s gaze.
“What? I got bored.”
“I… wasn’t gone for that long,” Shuichi muttered, ears starting to burn as he tried to avert his gaze from Kokichi’s middle.
“Long enou-huurp… enough.” He huffed, a hand lifting to cradle his belly. He looked at Shuichi expectantly. “Well?”
“A-Ah! Right.” Shuichi moved to the bed and set down the slices of shortcake. Kokichi settled himself back down against the stack of pillows resting on the headboard.
“Nyee-hee… I totally get that you’re completely enamored with me, Shu… But I think we both know that you’d like to do more than just stare,” Kokichi purred.
Shuichi swallowed, face warming up quicker than he’d liked it to. He nodded. “Let’s get back to it, then.”
Kokichi grinned, satisfied, and put his hands behind his head. Shuichi settled back down onto the bed and picked up the fork out of the former chicken and rice container. He popped open one of the clear plastic boxes in which sat a heavy slice of creamy, soft cake.
“Damn…”
Shuichi looked up to see Kokichi staring straight at the cake.
“Are you sure you can you handle this?”
“Pff! Obviously!” He shot Shuichi an incredulous look. “It just looks super good… Did Mom make it?”
Shuichi rolled his eyes. “Yes, I’m assuming this is all Kirumi’s fault.”
“Don’t blame her! She probably had no idea she’d be contributing to tonight.” Kokichi put on a sly grin and patted his tummy.
“And I don’t plan on telling her…” Shuichi grimaced. Nobody in the school really knew about his and Kokichi’s little feeding sessions. Everybody naturally assumed Kokichi was clearing out the fridge in the middle of the night, but they hadn’t really connected the dots back to Shuichi. He was just glad Kokichi didn’t make any attempts at publicly embarrassing him after an… eventful evening. Nevertheless, Shuichi pressed the fork down into the cake and picked up a corner.
“Open up.”
Kokichi giggled to himself as a delicate bite of the chilled cake passed his lips. He chewed and sighed contentedly as he ever so slightly rubbed up and down the growing swell of his lower belly.
This was Shuichi’s cue…
He brought up one more bite of cake to Kokichi’s lips then switched the fork to his other hand. Now closer to the warm, full tummy before him, Shuichi rubbed intently. Kokichi lowered his head back impossibly further into the pillows, a blissful expression immediately taking over his cherubic little face.
Over the course of the past few stuffings, Kokichi had started to look and feel a little less like a skeleton… His childlike cheeks became even fuller, the straps he wore around his thighs grew a little tighter, and his tummy developed a soft layer of plushness. Nothing too extreme… but it was definitely starting to get noticeable. And, God, did Shuichi love it… The idea of him softening Kokichi in more ways than one was like heaven.
Pressing gently into Kokichi’s filling belly, he was able to feel some of that softness puffing out at the lower half of his midsection… and Shuichi couldn’t keep his hands off it to save his life. Something was so satisfying about this whole thing… He continued. The spongy, sweet treat went in, in, in… and he would be repaid with the most touchable, huggable reward.
Shuichi realized he had reached the whole strawberry that sat atop the cake, adorning the once-whole slice beautifully. The top of the red fruit was sliced, so it was easy to simply eat the whole thing at once…
He held the strawberry up to Kokichi’s lips, his fingers grazing them gently as Kokichi took the fruit into his mouth.
Any form of feeding was some kind of pleasurable to Shuichi, but hand-feeding was too intimate to overlook. This… It felt like he had just kissed Kokichi. Speaking of which…
Kokichi chewed and swallowed, a light pink blush warming his cheeks. Shuichi’s hand had fallen to hold the other boy’s chin gently. He brushed his thumb across Kokichi’s bottom lip. Kokichi opened his eyes, that vibrant shade of violet meeting golden-hazel… Kokichi chuckled and sat up ever so slightly.
Warm lips met soft, sweet lips. Just for a moment… God, what was Shuichi to do? Every part of his mind was chanting, Kokichi, Kokichi, Kokichi… More, more, more…
This little liar had stolen more than just his heart… Shuichi was right where Kokichi wanted him, huh?
Kokichi plopped his head back down onto the pillows and sighed. “Keep it comin’, Shumai. My appetite won’t last all night, y’know.”
Shuichi stared Kokichi down with an amused smile. “That’s gotta be the worst lie you’ve ever told.”
He poked the fork into the cake once more as Kokichi snickered to himself. Shuichi noticed that the first slice of cake was miraculously disappearing, pressing a frosting-heavy bite into Kokichi’s mouth. Shuichi bit his lower lip as he watched his mischievous boyfriend indulge himself further.
Then, a few bites later… Just like that, the slice of tart, fluffy cake had disappeared. With a haphazard toss of the fork into the emptied container, Shuichi lovingly patted Kokichi’s belly.
Kokichi sighed. “Hmmn… More.”
Shuichi lifted his gaze in quiet surprise, lips parted. He swallowed thickly and nodded, reaching behind him to grab another slice of shortcake. Kokichi snickered, clearly amused by his boyfriend’s eagerness.
Shuichi popped the second container open, and dove in with the fork again. The bite prepared, he studied Kokichi for a brief moment. His eyes were a little droopier, his ever-present smirk seeming to be less taunting and mischievous— rather sleepy and satisfied. His chest rose and fell a little quicker with each silent yet shallow and labored breath. Kokichi was getting… rather overstuffed at this point.
But if Kokichi wanted to keep going… was Shuichi really going to stop him?
Bite after bite went in. Another fresh, plump strawberry was hand-fed into Kokichi’s mouth. He licked away crumbs and smears of creamy frosting from his lips. Breathy hiccups made his little body shudder as his belly continued to fill… and fill… and fill.
Yet another slice had completely made its way into Kokichi’s already heavy and bloated tummy. Shuichi ditched the fork right away, his hands curving over the top of the firm swell.
“Gh… urrp. God…” Kokichi softly groaned, strained burps lifting out of his tummy as Shuichi rubbed.
“I’m guessing that’s it, right?”
Kokichi squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, grimacing as he stifled another burp. He sighed and shook his head.
“Just… make it quick.”
Shuichi froze and turned to Kokichi. …Seriously? He had to be hurting. He really didn’t want to make Kokichi genuinely uncomfortable, but… Shuichi couldn’t deny it to himself that stuffing the smaller boy all the way to the brim was oddly exciting. He felt his face burning up again. He didn’t notice Kokichi finally open his eyes until he giggled.
“I know what you’re thinking, Shuichi…” His voice turned low and teasing. He stretched, folding his hands behind his head. “You know what you’ve done to me, don’t you? You’re turning me into a… shameless glutton. No matter what you do, I-hic! …I’ll only want more. In fact, I expect more. And you know it… Don’t you, Shumai?”
If Shuichi’s face wasn’t red-hot already…
He knew Kokichi was only doing this to get a reaction. That’s the reason behind half the things he does… What Shuichi noticed this time, though, was that Kokichi almost looked as if he were flustering himself. Shit… He seriously was enjoying himself, huh? That snide, cynical little bastard.
“Go ahead… I’m all yours, y’know.”
——
The two had worked into a rhythm… Both boxes sat open. Kokichi kept his eyes shut as Shuichi wasted no time. They decided that fitting everything in as quickly as possible would make it easier. Despite Kokichi’s chewing having slowed down and his need for little breaks increased… they managed.
Finally, the last bite went in… and everything was gone.
“Woah…” Shuichi froze in place, eyes falling to Kokichi’s overstuffed belly. That little mound lovingly filled… so round- swollen taut with every last morsel that Shuichi had coaxed into Kokichi’s greedy, greedy mouth. It was some wonderfully indescribable feeling that Shuichi could never get over.
“Haahh… huff… Nyee-hee…! Th’ look on your face, Shu.” No matter how compromising a position he was in, Kokichi just continued to poke fun at Shuichi. Out of breath, he cradled his glutted belly with both hands. “Nngh… You could help me out, y’know.”
“Is that an order?”
“Heh… For you, I didn’t think it would matter.”
Moving aside all the empty food containers, Shuichi situated himself on Kokichi’s lap. The second his hands were on Kokichi’s tummy, the stuffed little leader let his guard down, his teasing smirk melting into something more vulnerable… satisfied… at peace.
Carefully at first… Shuichi sat softly circling the enlarged ball of a belly and caressing underneath. Both hands squeezed lightly at those bloated little sides, then pressed in, sliding up and down. Shuichi lightly, experimentally prodded into the widest part of the curving swell, feeling the firmness beneath his fingers. He slowly worked into a gentle, massaging rub, pressing down delicately as to not hurt Kokichi. It clearly wasn’t causing the latter any harm… He sat there, head back down on his stack of pillows, letting out little whines and sighs as Shuichi continued. At this point, it was unclear which one of them was putty in the others’ hands.
“Ha-ahh… Hrrp-brrup!” Kokichi took a moment to catch his breath, face flushing red and chest heaving as Shuichi pressed into the sensitive, aching spots across his overfilled tummy.
“I can’t believe you did that, Kichi…” Shuichi muttered, nearly talking to himself. “You’re… so good. You did so good.”
Kokichi laid back, wincing in pain intermittently… But overall, he looked completely blissed out.
“Are you… feeling okay?”
“Nghh… Hic-urrp! Never better.”
“Let me know if you need to me go a little easier, alright?”
“Heh… E-Easier? Don’t ever go easy on me, Shu.”
Shuichi shook his head with a smirk as his hands worked almost on autopilot… Gently. He knew Kokichi well enough at this point. The Ultimate Supreme Leader wouldn’t dare back away from a challenge, but that didn’t mean Shuichi had to sacrifice his own kind intentions. After all of these sessions… he learned that he adored seeing Kokichi comfortable… and hardly was Kokichi ever as comfortable as he was in moments like these… Moments Shuichi hoped and prayed would never stop returning.

early winter (rottmnt x reader)
A/N: it was snowing so much the other day here in nyc and this was my immediate thought. also, i ate shit on the slush. my headphones flew off and everything- i felt like a real mess. what's worse is my borough is one of the last ones to be cleared of snow, so every year i have that to look forward to during real storms
"Holt shit guys- did you see how much snow there is out there? Jack Frost is going' for it this year- it's not even December yet!" you bustle into the lair with ruddy cheeks and ear tips.
Your tousled hair is full of melting, fat snowflakes and there's some on your lashes that you blink away.
It’s been so long since you’ve seen snow in November, so it was a surprise to you as school let out and all you could see was a fog of snow.
It didn’t bother you so much, until you had a change of plans after an urgent call from Donatello. You'd just got home and didn’t have time to slip into something thicker, so you had to rush to the lair as you were. That really just meant your toes and fingers were freezing, and your calves and thighs were chaffing, but hey, the snow looked cool. And you were pretty sure you didn’t have frostbite.
Your face shifts when you see the brothers glaring weakly at you from under a fortress of quilts and linen. There's a number of new space heaters you helped them get dotted around too, but the mega sized heating lamp set up over their indoor basking spot was dead. That was bad because they didn't have central heating- it just wasn't something Donatello could hook up with all the open space in the way. The least he could do was make sure there was a ton of heaters and heating lamps strategically placed around their home.
Lucky thing was that the lair was mostly room temperature, or grossly muggy, year round.
Except during the cold season- which wasn't good at all for turtles. Even ones that were part human.
"Oh yeah. Sorry."
When it go seriously cold, there was never a time when you felt like you could walk around this place without more than one layer on and a fuzzy pair of socks so you don't have to plod around barefoot on the chilled floor. The brothers bundled up thrice that and were pretty immobile most of the time, struggling to regulate their body temperature.
You've come bearing another space heater tucked under an arm - it was hell to carry-, a stuffed duffel bag and an assorted order of Dunkin Donuts drinks. Your bag was filled with what Donnie told you to bring, including a mix of old heating pads and ones you bought at Duane Reade twenty minutes ago.
It was a busy hustle to the lair for you.
You waddled over to the turtles to set down your haul so you could peel off your coat. You go on to rummage around your bag, unraveling a couple extensions cords and a surge protector you added in as an afterthought. Donatello tended to burn through the ones he got his hands on, and more than once you found yourself in a Walgreens in the middle of the night getting more and wondering when he would blow out the power grid again.
After placing the space heater somewhere without one, you ask Donnie if he has any spare cords for the last heating pad. There wasn’t anymore slots available on the surge protector you hooked up.
He looks like he’s sneering, but you can’t tell. It was like a groggy leer as he acknowledged you, a heating pad clutched to his plastron.
"Over by the laptop charger; the one Leo's electric scooter is plugged into."
"Ey! That needs to charge." Leo whined from the other side of the Raph shaped lump under the blankets.
Raphael curled up and went to sleep shortly after you toddled in. The cold had him the most lethargic.
Donnie clicks his teeth, shifting in the hold of his blanket so he doesn’t look so much like an old, hooded crone anymore, "Like you're gonna ride it in the middle of a damn snowstorm."
You go off for the cord while they bicker and finish up. You have to stand on the Raph lump so you can screw in the twenty or so light bulbs that their lamp needs.
Your arms are stiff when you finally get to flip the lamp on and you notice the brothers are more tightly packed together, all beginning to doze off. Before they can, you hurry back to the drinks you left near your bag.
"Lee, here." you crouch in front of Leonardo.
Leo blinks awake and eagerly takes the cup into his hands, murring at its warmth as he brings it to his lips.
You kiss his forehead and repeat this with the other, still conscious brothers and put the last drink on a counter in the kitchenette area for Raphael to get at later.
You're in the middle of pulling your damp jacket back on when Mikey calls you, all swathed in a blanket like it’s a cloak.
"Can't you stay for a little while?" he pouts with big, sleepy eyes.
You wanna say no because you had homework you should really do but...
hell, what's a little more time with your best friends?
"Okay. But just like, twenty more minutes Mike."
You find a seat between Donnie and Mikey, and Mikey cuddles into you right away. Throwing his blanket over you so he can get closer to your body heat. You're reflexively worried about how he's still shivering despite all that was here to keep him warm, but then Donnie nudges you.
"Just give the lamp some time to kick in. We're all still kind of cold since it's been off for half the day." he sips his decaf latte and leans most of his weight into your side.
You drape part of your shared blanket over Donnie too to maximize the toasty energy between all of you.
"You should've been on top of those bulbs Don. What if things got really bad for you because you didn’t know they needed changing?" you hold Mikey tighter, brushing your lips against his crown and earning a cute little chirrup, "Like point of no return bad..."
There’s a brief silence and Donnie chastely pecks the side of your head.
"We're fine. That's it. We're fine. I’ll whip up a program to monitor the stats on everything so I can manage them better and make sure there’s not a next time." the turtle swishes the leftover sludge from his drink, undoing the knot of his mask with his other hand.
No one was really geared up today and you were surprised they had their masks on at all.
You look down at Mikey who's drank all his hot cocoa and was out cold against you. He’s softly snoring with whipped cream smeared on the corner of his mouth that you swab away with your thumb. You put your chin over the top of his head and take the empty cup still dangling in his hand.
"Alright Dee."
You almost feel like taking a nap yourself. But your socks and the knees of your pants were wet, so there was no getting that comfortable for you.
"So," Donnie all but drawls and you regret looking at him. He’s got an evil kind of smile on.
"about that tumble-"
You bury your head under the blanket and feel him chuckle.
The image of when you slipped in the snow while checking in with Donatello over the phone burned in your mind.
"Shut up Don."
You didn't wanna talk about it.

2: is your room messy or clean?
It’s kind of a mix?? Like I leave my clothes folded on top of the drawers rather than putting them away bc the drawers stick and it’s just easier access. XD But mostly I keep things kinda tidy.
4: do you like your name? why?

(lmao a friend and I joke that we’re gonna move to NYC together one day, so she can keep my li’l naive country boi ass from getting chewed up and spat out by New Yorkers. I appreciate it. X’D )

And once recently when I felt super sick for months and months and finally went only to find there was nothing wrong with me?? turned out it was my gluten intolerance but dear god I had never felt that sick.

90: do you wash your face? at night? in the morning?
Just whenever I have my shower, occasionally during the day if I’m sweaty or whatever. Sometimes if my insomnia kicked me in the ass I splash my face n neck with cold water to wake up in the morning.
92: have you ever been drunk?
Nope, and I really don’t want to be. The idea of being out of control of myself, even just a little bit, is terrifying to me. No thanks. I also just generally do not like alcohol, idk why.
94: favorite lyrics right now
My all-time favourite lyrics come from Twenty One Pilots’ song ‘The Judge’ (even though I don’t actually like the song itself I love the lyrics):“When the leader of the bad guys sangSomething soft and soaked in painI heard the echo from his secret hideawayHe must’ve forgot to close his doorAs he cranked out those dismal chordsAnd his four walls declared him insane”
96: day or night?
*chanting* NIGHT NIGHT NIGHT NIGHT NIGHT N

My Dad. Yikes.
AHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKIN, ALEX!!!

Part 1    Part 2    Part 3    Part 4    Part 5   Part 6.5
(Brooke’s POV)
I was dragged out of my sleep by my phone going off. I groaned and opened my right eye, squinting at the clock on my bedside table.
Fucking 8? Really? It's my damn day off and I can't even sleep in.
I sigh and grab my phone off the table and pull the charger out of it. I slide my finger across the bottom and hold it up to my ear, pulling the blanket up over my head.
"Hello?" I mumbled.
"Still asleep?" Tyler was way too awake this early in the morning on a Saturday.
"I was but not anymore," I sighed.
"Wow someone is grumpy this morning," he laughed, I heard his car door open and close in the background and the sound of the engine start. I could tell I had been switched over to the car speakers as he started to back out of his driveway.
"Sorry Ty, I just was hoping that on my day off I would get to sleep in."
"It's okay. You want me to grab you anything?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like breakfast! A coffee or something? I'm gonna get myself something before I head over."
"Over where?" I was still way too tired to keep up right now.
"To your apartment!"
"At 8 in the morning?!"
"Yeah I wanted to stop by before Jamie, Rads, and I go golfing."
"Why?" I asked, a little more irritated than I meant for it to come out.
"Jeez I just wanted to see my best friend but you clearly aren't in the mood. I'll just-"
"No Tyler I'm sorry," I groaned as I pushed the blanket off of me and I sat up. "I'm still half asleep. I'm not exactly following this conversation that well right now," I managed to huff out half of a laugh.
"Alright well I'll be there in like 10 minutes. You want anything?"
"Yeah just get me a doughnut? Do they have Boston cream down here?"
"You like Boston cream doughnuts?!"
I laugh "Yes Tyler I did live only 3 hours from Boston my whole life, all of the dunkin donuts had them."
"I haven't had one in a while. Probably since I was in Boston."
"Well if you find one, that is what I want because neither have I. If not I'll just take a frozen mocha drink of some kind, and a glazed doughnut would be good."
"Alright sounds good. I'll be there soon."
"Okay drive safe," I said and we both hung up. I yawned, stretching and got out of bed. I looked at myself in the mirror and took my hair out of the french braid it was in, throwing it up into a messy bun instead. I didn't feel like getting dressed right now and if Tyler was going to golf with Jamie and Rads I knew he wouldn't be here for long so maybe I would get the chance to go back to sleep after he left. I walked out to the living room of my apartment and sat on the couch, pulling a blanket over my lap since I was only wearing an oversized tshirt. I flipped the TV on and found nothing interesting, of course, so I just turned it to the sports channel for background noise and decided to scroll through Instagram.
About 50 puppy pictures, and random hockey related posts later I heard a knock on my door. I set my phone down on the coffee table and got up, pulling the blanket with me, wrapping it around my shoulders and walking to the door. I looked through the peep hole, seeing Tyler standing there waiting for me.
I opened the door and poked my head out "Yes? Who are you?" I smirked.
"Oh come on!" Tyler laughed and I stepped away from the door, opening it all the way for him.
I turned and made my way back to my nest of pillows on the couch and sat back down. Tyler followed close behind me, setting our drinks and a paper bag of food on the coffee table. He pulled out a separate smaller bag from the bigger bag and tossed it to me.
"Here you go princess," he smirked and sat down on the couch next to me.
I raised an eyebrow at him and opened the bag, gasping. "Where did you find one?"
"I went to a special bakery in town that is owned by a family that was from New England. They have specialty New England items you can't get in Texas anywhere else."
"Aww Ty you didn't have to-"
"Oh if you didn't notice there's two in there, one is for me. I forgot all about those sugar filled devils until you brought it up," He smirked and stuck his hand into the bag and pulled one out for himself.
I just laughed and rubbed my face as I yawned again, still not fully awake.
"Aww is Brookie tired?" He mocked me, wrapping his arm around me as he ate his doughnut.
"Yes," I mumbled and laid my head on his shoulder while I slowly ate my doughnut.
"Well tonight there's a hockey event going on and the players are allowed a plus one. You wanna go with?"
"Me?" I asked, tilting my head to look up at him, seeing him take the last bite of his doughnut.
He laughed and wiped my cheek with his finger, there was chocolate on it, clearly I was making a mess, but at least it was entertaining him. He licked it off his finger and smirked at me, wiggling his eyebrows.
"You're gross," I laughed.
"Why?"
"Because I know what your mind is like, don't even start its too early."
"Fine fine. Anyways do you want to go?"
"I don't have anything to wear for something like that, Ty."
"That's okay we'll get you something," he said and pulled out his phone. "Rads just texted me and said Ashlyn is going, you two can go shopping and find something I'm sure."
"Ty I don't have extra money for all of this right now, I'm barely making my rent as it is," I said looking back up at him.
Tyler looked down at me and smiled "It's okay I'll cover it. I really want you to go Brooke."
"Is that why you came to my house at 8 in the morning?" I asked him as I finished my doughnut.
"Well.." Tyler smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "I thought that if I asked you in person you would be more likely to say yes."
I sighed and nuzzled my face into his shoulder, closing my eyes. I normally would argue with him buying something for me, especially something I knew was going to be expensive. But it was too early and I knew he wouldn't take no for an answer anyways. "What kind of event is this anyways?" I mumbled against his shoulder.
Tyler rested his head against mine and rubbed my arm. "It's a charity event for the children's hospital. We go visit them tomorrow before the game, but tonight we are raising money so we can bring them the check tomorrow."
"Awww!" Anything kid related made my heart melt, especially for ones that were sick. I had been in the hospital for 2 weeks, over Christmas no less, back when I was 9 so I knew how they felt. Having the guys show up to visit them tomorrow was going to really make the kids happy. "Yeah I'll go Ty," I smiled against him.
I had been surprised how cuddly of a person Tyler was, but I for sure enjoyed it. I didn't think he would be open to that especially since we were just friends, but it made sense, there was no pressure there for him to be anything but himself and it just felt natural.
"Yeah? Great! I'm excited. The other guys will be there, some you haven't met. Of course you know Jamie and Rads the most out of them all, Ashlyn and Katie will be there so you girls can hang out when we have to go mingle."
I nodded and pulled the blanket over myself more, some of it covering Tyler as well.
"Ohh no don't get too comfortable. I need to go meet Jam and Rads in like 20 minutes to get in some golfing before we get ready later," he laughed.
I whined and pushed closer to him. I would much rather just spend the day with him but I knew that both of us had our own lives to live away from each other sometimes, even if a lot of the time over the last couple months we had basically been attached at the hip for the most part when he was home.
"I know," he said softly, almost reading my mind. "You get 5 minutes of cuddle time and then I gotta go," he said, pulling me closer and wrapping his other arm around me.
I smiled and rested my head on his chest, feeling his chin rest on top of my head. He rubbed small circles on my back as I just listened to his heart beat. It was soothing and it almost put me back to sleep before Tyler started to pull back.
"Alright I gave you 3 extra minutes, if I'm late I'm blaming you," he laughed and I pulled back so he could get up.
"Jamie and Rad wont care," I said and watched him grab his coffee.
"Rads might not but Jamie.. He takes his golf very seriously," He laughed, smiling down at me.
"What doesn't he take seriously?"
"Good point. Oh! Before I forget here..." Tyler reached into his pocket and grabbed out his wallet and dropped a card onto my coffee table. "Don't spend more than like a grand k?" he laughed again.
"What?! There is no way I would ever spend that much on a dress Tyler, this isn't a wedding, don't worry," I smiled and stood up to give him a hug.
"I know. I just forget sometimes you aren't like other girls from around here," he said wrapping his arms around me again.
"Well that's because I'm not technically from here. But yes you're right, I'm not like most of them," I smile and give him a slight squeeze. "You know me Tyler, I'm not a huge materialistic person."
"I know," he nodded and pulled back from the hug. "Okay so text me pictures or something, I need to know what tie to wear."
"We are gonna match?" I smirked and raised an eyebrow at him, he nodded. "What is this prom?" I laughed.
"Oh shut up, you know Rads and Ashlyn and Jam and Katie are going to match. You don't want to be left out do you?"
I sighed and shook my head "Nooo.. I guess not," I smiled and walked him to the door.
"Have fun dress shopping. And don't spend all of my money!"
"I won't! Have fun golfing," I said and closed the door behind him.
Ashlyn and I had gone to a few dress shops around the city, me being mostly frustrated that none of them fit me well. I wasn't exactly a tiny girl, I had a few more curves to me than most of the other women that were going to be at this event tonight. Of course it didn't help that I also had a large chest (thanks a lot mom and gram) so finding a dress that fit all of my lovely assets wasn't the easiest thing. Thankfully the ladies at the dress shops loved to help and I finally was able to find a dress that I liked, and would wear more than once.
I walked out of the dressing room in the 3rd dress at this store. It felt like I had tried on at least 100 dresses and we had been dress hunting all day, but I knew that was just because I hated trying on clothes. This dress had been on the mannequin in the front of the store and both Ashlyn and I had been eyeing it the whole time, but there was no way I thought it would end up in the dressing room with me. It was a dress I wished I could wear but never felt like I could pull off. It was a tighter dress than I was comfortable with, ruched all the way down the front of the dress, the neckline had a piece added on to add an off the shoulder look, and it was beautiful deep dark purple color, which was one of my favorite colors.
Tumblr media
"You look so great!" Ashlyn smiled as she watched me turn from side to side in front of the wall of mirrors.
"You think? It doesn't like.."
"No Brooke its beautiful."
I sigh and nod, turning around and smile at her.
"Do you like it?"
"I do yeah. I do think it is pretty and I think I look good in it-"
"But?"
"I mean you know I have self confidence issues, and normally I wouldn't try to worry too much about it but its a bit different this time."
"Because of Tyler?"
I just nod and turn back to the mirror, looking at myself, I pull at the fabric to try and make it hide the places on my body I don't like as much.
"Brooke stop picking. You seriously do look great"
"You sure its not too tight? I mean I could find something more flowy.."
"If you aren't comfortable in it then don't get it. But I think you are worrying too much. I know you like Tyler and I know you want to make a good impression on him. But he likes you for you. I mean you guys have been attached at the hip when they have been home, there's a reason for that. Don't stress so much," Ashlyn said, getting up and walking over to me, fixing the dress.
I sigh and nod. "I just know the type of girls-"
"Yes I know. We all are aware. But you know what there's a reason they don't stick around long. Why it wont ever last with one of those girls."
"I know I know."
"Then quit, and lets go pay for this and see if we can find you some shoes to go with it," she smiles at me in the mirror.
I walk back into the dressing room and then laugh, realizing there's no way I'm getting this thing off by myself. I poke my head out the dressing room and ask Ashlyn to unzip it for me, going back in and changing into my normal clothes. I walk back out, the dress carefully draped over my arm.
"So how much does that thing cost anyways?" Ashlyn asks as she stands back up off the couch.
"I haven't dared to look yet," I said and laugh.
"Well look!" Ashlyn laughed and walked over to me.
I grabbed the tag and flipped it over. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it was for sure not something that I would ever buy myself.
"Ugh," Ashlyn groaned.
"Yeah I would never buy this for myself. Nope," I shook my head and started walking with her towards the shoe section.
"Well good thing you aren't!" Ashlyn laughed as she started looking at shoes.
"Did you get a new dress too?"
"Yeah, Alex paid for it. It was a little less than that one," she motioned to the dress still in my arms.
I nodded "Well lets just hope that the shoes aren't stupidly expensive too," I smile as we look through the displays.
The dress was going to be $350 which was honestly not surprising, but that still didn't make me feel any less bad. I know Tyler said that it was fine but I wasn't that type of girl. I didn't buy expensive things, I didn't like when other people bought me expensive things either. I just hoped he didn't mind that if I went to more than one event with him I would be wearing this dress to a lot of them.
Thankfully Ashlyn and I had found some cute black heels to go with it that were only $100 and me knowing shoes so well, after working in a shoe store back at home from the ages of 16-21, I knew that was pretty common and not a bad price at all.
We walked over to the counter and set the dress and shoes up there. The lady behind the counter placed the dress into protective bag that allowed it to still hang flat. She grabbed a box for the shoes and told me that my total was going to be about $460. I nodded and handed her Tyler's card and looked over to Ashlyn, shaking my head.
She laughed and nodded, knowing that I hated doing this. "You'll be alright. It wont kill you to treat yourself for once."
"Oooh I know," I said and grabbed the pen from the counter to sign the slip before grabbing his card back and putting it back in my wallet and then into my purse. I grabbed the dress bag and Ashlyn grabbed the shoe box as we headed back out to her car.
"Aw shit I forgot to take a picture of it to send to Tyler."
"It's okay we can take one when we drop it off at my house."
"Drop it off? Why what else are we doing?"
"Katie invited us to go with her to get our nails, hair, and makeup done before tonight. Tyler didn't tell you?"
"No he didn't. But that was very sweet of her to invite us!"
Ashlyn and I had hung out with Katie a few times, at home games, as well as at some cookouts and dinners that Jamie and her had invited all of us to when the boys had a little down time between games. She was very sweet and welcoming to the two of us, which was really nice. I did feel a little out of the loop at first only being the friend but she never made it feel like I didn't belong, which I appreciated a lot.
Ashlyn and I got into her car and made the short drive to her apartment. I hung the dress in the doorway of the hall that lead to her bedroom and unzipped the protective cover.
"Brooke, I was thinking on the way over here you shouldn't send Tyler a picture of the dress," Ashlyn said as she grabbed a water out of the fridge.
"Why not? He asked me to so that he could pick out what tie he was going to wear."
"Well take a picture of just the color then instead of the whole dress. Make it a surprise."
I shrugged "Yeah I guess. I mean I don't think hes going to be stunned or anything when he sees me," I laugh as I pull out my phone and take a picture of just the color of the dress.
"You never know!" Ashlyn said as she walked by you and into her bedroom to grab her dress to bring out and show me.
"Maybe.." I said softly, not loud enough for her to hear me since she was in the other room now.
I opened up the message app on my phone and went to Tyler's name. I sent the picture of the dress and added in
Me: You'll have to wait until later to see the rest, but here is the color 😜
I pocketed my phone and zipped the dress back up and went to grab a water from Ashlyn's fridge for myself. Just as I did Ashlyn came out with her dress, also in a protective bag, and hung it up next to mine in the doorway.
"Ooo yes I'm excited to see yours!"
She unzipped the bag and moved it out of the way so I could see the whole dress.
Tumblr media
"Oh that is so beautiful! Does Alex know what it looks like yet?"
Ashlyn shook her head. "No I went yesterday while he was at practice. He said he didn't want to know until tonight when we all showed up for the event. Us girls are going separate from the boys since we are leaving right after our appointment to come back here to get dressed and then head straight to the event."
I just nodded my head. It was a good thing I was a go with the flow kind of person because all of the plans that were going on today I had no knowledge of, but I was having fun so I didn't really care.
"Well I think we are going to look great!" I smiled and walked over to where Ashlyn was standing so that I could look at the dresses better.
After another 20 minutes of talking about our dresses and relaxing on the couch we went to go head to the salon to meet Katie for our appointment. We stopped at a coffee shop to grab a few drinks for the three of us before meeting Katie in the parking lot of the salon.
"Hey girls!" Katie smiled as she came over to greet us, giving each of us a hug.
"Hey Katie how have you been?" Ashlyn asked.
"Great! Are you two ready for tonight?"
Ashlyn smiled and nodded, I just kind of looked at Katie.
"Whats the matter Brooke?" She asked as we headed inside.
I shook my head and shrugged. "Nothing."
Katie and Ashlyn looked at me but didn't say anything since the lady had greeted us when we walked in the door and started getting our information for the appointment. We got brought over to a few chairs to get a pedicure to start with.
I placed my feet in the water, enjoying the massage they were getting by the jets in the water. The ladies who were going to be doing our pedicure had left to go get the lotions and nail polish colors we had picked. I happened to be sitting right in the middle of Katie and Ashlyn which meant as soon as we were left alone the two of them both turned to me.
"What?!" I laughed and looked between them.
"Are you doing okay?" Katie asked me.
"Yeah why?" I asked, taking a sip of my mocha iced coffee drink.
"You just seem.. different than usual," Katie commented.
I looked over to Ashlyn and she gave me a small smile. She understood what was going on in my head but I guess I was going to have to explain it to Katie, which I wasn't really sure how this was going to go because she was one of the skinny and pretty ones that I always compared myself to.
"I know I'm not being my normal talkative self today," I start as I turn to look at Katie. "I'm just not sure what to expect for tonight is all," I smiled at her.
"Oh you'll be fine! We will be there with you. And Tyler and the guys will all be there. There is nothing to worry about," she smiled back. "But I feel like that's not all it is," she said giving me a quizzical look.
I sighed and pursed my lips, thinking how to explain this to her. "I'm not exactly the most self confident person. I got a really great dress but I'm just a little worried about it."
"What? Why you are beautiful!" Katie said.
I smiled "Thanks."
"She's over thinking it because Tyler is going to be there," Ashlyn said, knowing that you didn't really want to say it but it was going to come up at some point anyways.
"Why would that-" Katie started but then nodded "Oh I understand," she said and reached over, grabbing my hand. "You and him are close sweetie. I haven't seen him and another girl attached to each other like the two of you are. I wouldn't worry so much about your physical appearance Hun."
I sighed and nodded "I know. I keep telling myself the same thing. I mean back when he and I first met we both agreed that we felt like we had known each other forever. So there's something clearly there that makes us so close to each other, which is great."
The two other girls nod and Katie sits back in her seat. The nail tech ladies come back in and sit in front of the three of us on their stools and start our pedicures.
After a few moments of silence I speak up again, adding to my previous statement "And I mean honestly as much as I like him, even if we didn't end up together I'm glad that he and I are so close as friends."
"Yeah you guys are great," Katie smiles, looking up from her phone over at me.
"I just have a bad feeling that I will end up pushed out if someone else comes along, that's all."
"I wouldn't worry about that," Katie says shaking her head.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't think that would happen, not with the way he acts with you."
"Yeah but the type of girls he goes for and I usually don't tend to get along with one another."
Katie laughed "Yeah but there's a reason why none of them have lasted."
"I said the same thing!" Ashlyn said.
"See?" Katie said, pointing to Ashlyn "She knows."
"Oh so do I. I just always compare myself to girls like that, and I think that also has to do with the whole issue of tonight. I don't want to stick out among the rest of you. I mean I already do as is just being the friend-"
"No you won't stick out. You will look amazing. Stop. Worrying."
"okay okay!" I laughed and sat back.
The rest of the afternoon we talked about other random things, the topic of the boys not really coming up except for when Jamie called Katie to let us all know that they would be getting to the event a little early and would meet us out front.
"We need to hang out more just us girls, without the boys! This was so much fun," Katie smiled as the three of us walked outside. We had spent 3 hours in there getting our toes and finger nails done, hair styled, and makeup done.
"We really do! Especially when they are gone for away games," Ashlyn suggested.
Katie nodded "I get so bored at home alone when Jam is gone, having the girls over more often would be great. Oh! So I brought my dress with me, you girls don't mind if I follow you back to your apartment and we can all get dressed there so we can cut down on cars we take? I have room for all of us."
"That would be great! Alex asked if I wanted to stay over his house after the event anyways," Ashlyn said. "So if I don't have to drive I'm happy with that," she laughed.
I nodded "I'm sure I can convince Tyler to drive me home after," I laughed.
"Okay, I'll follow you guys," Katie smiled as she got into her car and we got into Ashlyn's.
Once getting to Ashlyn's apartment Katie gushed over our dresses and was excited to see what we looked like in them. Katie got changed first, Ashlyn and I leaning against the counter in her kitchen while we look at Instagram.
Ashlyn's phone rang and I saw Alexander's face pop up on her screen. I smiled and stepped away, walking over to where my dress was hanging up so she could talk to him.
"Hello?" Ashlyn answers her phone.
"Hey детка," Alexander responds.
Ashlyn smiles, loving when he uses Russian words that he had taught her. "How was golf?"
"Good! I missed you. Can't wait to see you soon."
"Me too. We should be headed out in a few minutes. Brooke and I just need to get changed and we are ready to go."
"Okay. We are just parking the car I will see you out front when you get here," Alexander said
"Okay. We are all coming in Katie's car so I will ride back with you tonight if that's okay?"
"Of course детка!"
"Alright," Ashlyn giggled "See you in a bit."
"Bye bye."
"You two are so cute," I smiled over to Ashlyn as she hung up her phone.
"Oh shush," Ashlyn said just as Katie walked out.
"Your next!" Katie said, tapping my shoulder.
I sighed "Alright well I'll need one of you to zip me up when I come out," I said and walked into the bedroom to get changed.
After getting dressed us girls all walked out to Katie's car and made our way to the event. There was a line of cars, a valet attendant taking people's keys to park their cars. Not something that I was used to, but it was fun to get all dressed up and go to something fancy like this.
"Oh there are the boys," Katie said, motioning over towards the front door.
The three of us got out of the car, the boys walking over when they noticed us, Alexander took Ashlyn's arm and escorted her towards the door, I could over hear him complimenting how beautiful she looked.
Jamie smiled and brought Katie over, nudging Tyler who was on his phone, typing something. He finished and put his phone in his pocket before looking up, seeing me for the first time tonight in my dress.

Last Month: Goodbye and Goodnight
When I made my Master List earlier this month, I realized I never posted this to Tumblr. Which is crazy because it’s one of my favorite one-shots from any series, but especially from this one. So if you never read it, here it is.
If it was love at first sight for Laxus, then it was much more so for Makarov, the first time he got to hold his great-granddaughter.
He honestly never expected to have a grandchild, the first time, with Laxus. Ivan wasn't exactly the kind of guy to attract many...companions. With Laxus, rather, he found himself more shocked that not only did he not return from jobs having fathered children, but he also only ever had one child. And with a wife, at that. That he was very much so in love with.
Those facts alone made Makarov love his new granddaughter even more.
He was rather in up age, by the time she was born, and wasn't really able to babysit her much. Most of his days were spent sitting up at the bar, trying hard not to fall asleep while keeping up the appearance of a capable master. Caring for a baby would have been too taxing on him.
Mirajane did, however, bring her over frequently. Typically when Laxus was gone, off on a job, and she seemed lonely. It was hard to imagine her as lonely, really, considering she constantly had her siblings and the Thunder Legion hanging around (Laxus and Mirajane marrying was more or less like the joining of two houses) as well as visitors from the guild, but she seemed to fill the void of her husband with the man's grandfather.
And Makarov never made complaints. He'd loved Mirajane far before she became his granddaughter-in-law and even more so then. Adding on the woman and Laxus' daughter, Lana, was just heaven. Even when all she did was sleep, cry, and poop, Lana was perfection to him.
Add to that the way that Laxus, big tough gruff Laxus, was at the complete and utter mercy to the little girl and, well, Makarov probably knew no one he loved more than Lana.
It was so great for the old man, watching his grandson so enraptured with someone. It was much the same when the man first got involved with the eldest Strauss. At first, Makarov was rather apprehensive over this, given how dearly he cared for Mirajane (she was his second in command; the only thing worse, possibly, could have been Laxus moving in on Erza...although the hilarity in that might have just made it worth it), but that all changed when the man took note of how...different his grandson was around Mirajane.
She had him more than eating out of the palm of her hand. She had him downright licking the ground behind her. He was more respectable, around her, would actually speak instead of just moping off in a corner, for once seemed to have a constant, steady date (her, of course) and, for the first time in his life, Makarov thought that he might actually see his grandson get married.
Not that it wasn't still shocking, when Laxus showed him the ring and announced his plan to ask the eldest Strauss for her hand. Though Makarov thought the day might come, he figured it'd be a more tortuous decision for Laxus. That Mirajane, who he was still very much so enthralled with, would eventually wear him down with her requests of marriage and, perhaps, even force him into an ultimatum over it; wedding or bust.
Rather, Laxus seemed to be really excited over the whole thing. Not even in a nervous way. He told Makarov whenever the man questioned the act (and the Thunder Legion, when they were harping on him over it) that he felt as if it was just the right thing. The right step. There was no one else. There never had been.
It just took him a bit to realize that.
And if Mirajane had been placed on a pedestal to the man, then their child was dangling above it. Because, damn, Makarov thought that he loved Ivan, when he was a child. And he knew that he loved Laxus. But the feelings that Laxus seemed to have for his daughter far exceeded that.
It could have gone one of two ways, Mirajane told Makarov once. From the childhood that Laxus had been given, he was either going to reject being a father or go at it wholeheartedly, to make sure that his own child never went through the same abandonment he did. They were just lucky, she figured.
Laxus couldn't explain it though, himself. And would pretend as if the others were crazy, if they made a joke about it or brought it up. There was just something in him, that first time he'd held Lana, that made him just…
Makarov felt the same way, actually, about Laxus. He'd screwed up Ivan. He hadn't given him the proper care or attention and, due to that, Ivan felt absolutely no connection to Laxus. He ruined Laxus.
But Makarov was determined not to repeat his mistake with his grandchild. He tried and tried, even after Laxus grew up, to love the boy. He did love the boy. He'd never felt any stronger love, not even over his guildhall or the children he came to care for there, as he did over Laxus.
His grandson just happened to skip a step. Laxus didn't wait around to screw up his kid and then love his grandchild. Oh, no. Never. He wanted Lana to feel loved and happy and never let a single thing bother her ever.
As much as he loved when Mirajane would bring Lana over for a visit at his home, Makarov loved it even more when Laxus would do so.
Only after Mirajane insisted, of course, as the man frequently tried to avoid his grandfather those days (they were on far better terms, the two Dreyar men were, but lack of constant contact probably furthered this along). Still, when Laxus came over with Lana in tow, Makarov would pull out all the stops.
Mirajane would spend her time over there cleaning and cooking for the man while he spent time with his great-granddaughter, but Laxus, when he was there, mostly like to just sit around as Makarov treated both Lana and he as any grandparent would, plying them full of cake and drinks and anything else they might desire.
That was one of the best times of his life, when Lana was first able to try solids, and he got to sneak her things that Mira deemed she wasn't ready for. Better still was when she was old enough to ask him for things. That was about the time when she was old enough that she didn't require constant attention, just plenty of supervision, and was able to come over to his house without her parents.
They even had sleepovers.
She was probably around two, going on three, about then. And liked to ask him for anything and everything. If they were in the market, she had to have multiple toys. Passing the ice cream shop? Then he might as well head in there because they were going one way or another. Donuts? Go nuts. Wanna go to the park even though it's raining? Makarov would literally just let her run around in his house, knocking into the things and bouncing off the walls.
More than once, in quite a clipped way, Mirajane tried to let her Master know that this wasn't really appreciated.
"I have a hard enough time," Mirajane told him more than once in her innocent tone of hers, though the man could tell she was a bit peeved to find out that her daughter had been fed cookies for dinner, "dealing with Laxus and how he spoils her. Please, Master, don't just let her run all over you."
And why not? Mira and Laxus had made it very clear that they weren't popping anymore kids out in the near future (or at least Laxus had) which meant that she'd be the last grandchild he'd ever have. Why shouldn't he give her everything she wanted?
"Well, for one, you're gonna make her fat, Gramps," Laxus told him once as the man dropped Lana off at the man's house. He was about to head out on a job and Mirajane was at work, which meant Lana had to go somewhere. And as all her aunts and uncles (the Thunder Legion and Strauss siblings) were busy, that left Makarov.
Who, for the record, had honestly planned on stopping by the hall that day for more than an hour. Honest. He just got so...tired...and Mira said he could go home and babysit so…
"I will not," Makarov complained as his three year old granddaughter was busy chasing around butterflies in the backyard garden. "Look. She burns everything I feed her right off."
Laxus was sticking around a bit for some reason (it would be a long job and he was gonna miss his hatchling, so he was pushing off leaving for as long as he could) and only stood over his grandfather, who was seated at his patio table out there, watching his daughter as well.
"Even I manage to tell her no sometimes," the slayer grumbled.
Which was true. He possessed that capability. Just didn't use it very often.
Lana would miss Laxus when he was gone on jobs. They spent a lot of his off time together. A lot. Nearly all of it, in fact. Her daddy dragon told her that there was no one else in the world that he'd rather hang around than her.
It would have made her feel special, did she know that not all fathers treated their little hatchlings the same way.
Still though, she did enjoy time with her aunts and uncles. Her gramps especially. If those sleepovers were great for him, then they were far better for her.
Gramps would make her dinner (and it had far less nasty, gross vegetables, like Mommy's did) and let her stay up super late (like, seven thirty late) before they both conked out to that dang movie lacrima he'd grumble about as he could never get it working on the first try, either in his big bed or the living room floor, where they'd lay down blankets and all her stuffed toys.
He took her to the park too, but only if she was being an extra good girl, because he couldn't move around as well as he used to, he'd tell her, and that meant he couldn't chase after her if she started acting up. Or, even better, he'd take her down the market. She had to be a super extra good girl then. He'd buy her toys and ice cream and just, ugh.
Gramps was the best.
She liked him for other things though, of course, than just the things he could buy her and the places he could take her.
No, she reserved that sort of like for her Aunt Ever and Uncle Elf.
Her grandfather, rather, now he was fun no matter what they were doing. Even if it was just a rainy day out and they were stuck inside, he'd have the best coloring books and little puzzles for them to put together (her to try and eat the pieces of). He didn't mind snuggling and he told stories that were kind of like Daddy's.
Not as good as Daddy's, of course, because no one could top those, but Gramps' were good too.
Over at his house, Gramps had some really cool toys too. They were the ones that she had to leave at her Gramps' house and not take home, so that she always had something over there to play with, so she was always excited to get to play with them. One of her favorite action figures, one of her daddy, was actually in her toy box at her Gramps' house.
"Love you," she'd tell him a lot, when she finally got that sentence down. She told it to everyone, but Makarov felt like she meant it more, when she spoke those words to him. "G'amps."
And she'd kiss his cheek a lot. A whole lot. Mainly through Mira's prompting, but whatever.
It felt like a long time, to Makarov, since he loved something in that way. He loved Fairy Tail and all his children there. He loved Mirajane and Laxus even more. But Lana….
There was no toughness when it came to her. No resistance. He didn't have to break down layers, as he had to do with many of his children up at the guild. He didn't have to worry about hurting anyone's feelings by caring for her, as he'd had to do when Laxus was a boy and Ivan was very jealous and critical of his father's involvement with his son.
Lana was loving and caring and Makarov was more than willing to be much the same back to her. He liked snuggling her up in his lap and reading books to her or when they'd color all day long because she loved coloring and, well, it was one of the easy things around to do, so of course her grandfather was down with it.
Hide-and-seek was fun, in his house full of trinkets and oddities. Tag was the best, out in his grandfather's garden. He even had a little part of the garden bed, where there were no plants, that he let her dig for bugs and rocks in.
They were kind of sort of best friends.
That's how come Lana was so sad when he got sick.
It wasn't like, at the age of nearly five, she didn't understand the concept behind death. Because she did. Sort of.
Mommy talked a lot about her parents. And how they were gone. Passed on.
Dead. That's what Laxus said his mother was. And sometimes he'd call his father dead to him and, even though he didn't mean it in that way, Lana took things very literally and assumed much the same about Ivan.
But when Makarov got sick, she never once thought that he was dying or anything of the like. Because the only dead people she knew of had been dead from the start (or at least her start). Mira's parents were long gone when she was born, as well Laxus' mother (and kind of Ivan too).
Never once did she consider that he was dying. Nope. She took her parents at face value.
He was very sick though, it seemed, as he hardly ever left his room. Lana was okay with that though, as she was pretty good at sitting up on the bed with him and keeping him entertained.
She liked to talk.
The daughter of Mirajane liked to talk.
Shocker.
Makarov was a very good listener.
He coughed a lot and Mommy was in the room with them a lot too, wiping the man down with cool clothes and feeding him soup. They argued some times, Mommy and Gramps did, but it was usually Gramps that started it. Mommy would be trying to give him those nasty pills that Gramps hated and he'd just snap at her. That was how it typically would go down.
Then Mommy would cry. She cried a lot, actually. Even when no one else was upset.
Daddy didn't cry though. Ever. And especially not around Lana.
He stayed home a bit more then, Laxus did. He took care of Gramps too. He'd sit with him, sometimes, at night. Lana would sleep in bed with Gramps, but Daddy would just sit there, in a chair by the bed, and mostly watch them, it seemed. Whenever Lana would wake up, he'd still be up, usually, sitting there. Sometimes his head was bowed and he'd be muttering under his breath, but she didn't know what he was doing. And when she'd giggle, to let him know that she was up, he'd only lift his head, smile at her, and put a finger to his lips, as if to let her know that they had to let Gramps sleep.
He did it a lot.
It was only when she was spending the night with her Aunt Lissy and Bickslow one night (Laxus was out on a job and therefore, not there to forbade this; they could babysit, he didn't care, but his baby was not to be staying over night with those morons; they might lose her or something, he feared), when she found out that the others thought that Gramps was gonna die.
Her birthday was coming up, the following week, and Lana was going to be five. This was monuments to her and she was boring the hell out of Bickslow with her talk of it. He was trying to get her to go to bed for the night, but she was just all wired up for some reason or other.
Then Lissy came into the room, having just finished being on the lacrima with Mirajane, and didn't seem to be thinking much as she immediately began to tell Bickslow all about how Makarov wasn't doing well and they thought that he'd probably pass, in the coming weeks.
"Gramps is gonna die?"
And that, right there, is the exact reason that Laxus always said that Bickslow and Lisanna should not, under any circumstance, be allowed to keep his daughter for extended periods of time.
Why no one else listened to him, he had no idea, but it was what it was.
Lana was inconsolable that night and had to be taken back to Mirajane who, as she had been for the past few weeks, if not months, was spending the night in Makarov's house. It was only seeing the man that calmed her down and, even though he didn't feel well (and looked even worse), Makarov had her come sit up on the bed with him.
"Why are you so sad, child?" he asked her as she snuggled up to his side, still whining, nearly drowning out the sounds of Mirajane berating her sister and Bickslow out in the hall. "Hmmm?"
"I don't want you to die," Lana sobbed, nuzzling up against him. "Gramps."
He smiled down at her. "Why not?"
That gave her some pause. Sniffling, she lifted her head to stare up at him. "Because it's bad."
"Dying is bad?" When she nodded, he asked, "How come?"
Face crumbling, Lana thought hard to come up with an answer, but finally just said, "Because it is."
"That's not an answer." Makarov shut his eyes then, leaning back against he pillows behind his back, letting out a slow breath. "I've been here for a very, very long time, Lana. How old are you going to be? Next week?"
"Five," she sniffled.
"Five. You know how long ago it was that I was five? How different the world was? Back then?" She said nothing, because she didn't really understand the question, but Makarov wasn't looking for am answer. Not really. "Many, many years ago. Too many years ago. I've watched all of my friends… And it's not always a good thing, you're right, but when you get as old as me…"
Shifting down into the bed too, Lana said, "You'll get better. Huh?"
"I will," he agreed. And he would. Just perhaps not in the way she wanted. "I'll feel much better. I'll be much better. Promise."
Gramps had lost a lot of weight, recently, and his arms were real bony, but it felt nice, when he wrapped an arm around her and, though she still wasn't wholly convinced he'd be there when she awoke (death was tricky, she was pretty sure), Lana was able to drift off.
She didn't want to do anything, the rest of that week before her birthday, other than sit at Gramps' side. She thought that if she watched over him, then there would be no way that death could come and get him.
When Daddy got back (which was always a joyous occasion for his daughter), he made her come with him, out on a special day.
"Gramps promises to be here when you get back," the slayer said as he lifted Lana out of the bed against her halfhearted will. "Won't you, old man?"
"Of course, Lana," Makarov said through a cough as she stared forlornly back at him once her father sat her on the ground (she was officially to old too be carried around; Laxus hated time). "You go with your father. Be a good girl."
Always.
And Laxus snatched up her hand as the two left the room, passing Mirajane on the way as she came in, bringing Makarov his lunch.
"Dragon, don't forget to feed her, okay?" she said as he pressed a kiss to her cheek and made Lana call out a goodbye. "Soon."
"What kind of Daddy Dragon would I be if I forgot?"
A not very good one, obviously.
Luckily for Lana, however, he happened to be the best Daddy Dragon around.
They ate burgers on a patio cafe and he even let her drink soda (Mommy hated for her to drink soda).
"Now, Lana, hatchling." Laxus stared across the table at her as she played with her fries. "Mommy told Daddy that you had a bit of a...problem, while I was away."
"Mmmm...I was good."
"Of course you were. You're always good."
In a certain sense of the word, sure.
"But that's not what I meant, baby." Laxus had grown a beard recently and, sometimes, when Lana looked at him, it just made her giggle. When she did it that time, he only frowned. "Lana, Daddy wants to be serious, okay? Just a little."
Nodding, she couldn't help her smile as she said, "Okay, Daddy."
"Mommy told me that you got upset about...Gramps."
Oh. That. Lana didn't wanna talk about that.
Slumping back into her seat, she nodded a bit, but said nothing.
"Well, you know as well as I do that there's no one that can explain stuff better to you than me."
Yes. Of course. He was the one that got her to realize why it was okay for her brothers (read pet dogs) Tenjin and Raijin to pee in the bushes, but not for her.
Dad was great at explaining.
The best.
After her nod, he began.
"See, Lana, life's...not forever. And it sucks, you know? Like how Mommy and Daddy always tell you about how our parents aren't with us anymore. You know?" When she pointed up, he nodded himself before saying, "Yeah. They live up there now. And watch over us. Because they...died. And, um, you know, that's what happens, to people. Because… Well, because we get old. And when you get old, things stop working and… Shit, baby, Daddy had this all planned out."
Lana, who was sucking on the straw of her drink, released it just to say, "That's a bad word, Daddy."
"I know. I just… Gramps is… He loves you, Lana." Laxus hadn't touched his food and didn't plan to. His stomach hurt. "A lot. More than anything."
"I know," she said, a smile breaking through then. "I love Gramps too."
"Yeah, I know." Swallowing air, Laxus forced himself to smile back at her. "That's why Daddy's doing this. Because you have to know, hatchling, that Gramps is very sick. Very, very sick. He-"
"He'll get better." She nodded. "He promised."
"Well, I know, but… Lana, sometimes really sad things happen. You remember when Uncle Elf got very lost on that job with your Aunt Ever and everyone was super worried about him and Daddy and Freed had to go find him?"
Nodding, she said, "He cried."
"Yeah, Elfman cries at a lot of things. But my point was that it was scary, huh? And sad? Because we couldn't find him?" Laxus' smile fell. "And you were upset, huh? But it all turned out okay, didn't it?"
"'cause we found Elf."
"Well, yeah, but… This was a bad example. Um… Dang, kid, you really have nothing bad that ever happens to you. You know that? How the hell are you ever going to be a mage without a tragic back story?" Laxus shook his head. "What I mean is… When Gramps does...pass away-"
"Not gonna."
"But he is, baby. And when he does, it's not gonna be a bad thing. That's what Daddy wants you to understand."
"It'll be," she asked slowly, as if unsure, "good?"
"Well...in a way, yeah. Gramps is old." Smiling at her truly then, her father said, "And he's seen and survived a lot. But now he's gotten so old that you're his only friend. And that's no good. You want him to be happy, don't you?" When she didn't answer (why the heck should she; he should be honored if she was his only friend), he only continued. "When he...passes away and leaves us, it doesn't mean that he wanted to go. That he wanted to leave you. It just means that he had to. And he…
"He did a lot for you, Lana. A lot. He raised you. He took good care of you. When no one else was there, he was there. Even when you were being mean to him or wouldn't do what he wanted, he was always there. Always. Sometimes, yeah, he could be an ass and he probably deserved it, on occasion, you being mad at him, but you didn't have to be so mean. To waste so much time. But… He didn't care. And now everything's finally perfect and he's gonna go away and… But he has to. He doesn't want to. And it's okay. Because you had so many years together. And he'll still be here. Just not...where you can see him. But he'll always be with me." Laxus looked away from her finally and, maybe it was just the light, but it looked like his eyes were glistening. "You. He'll always be with you. So don't feel so bad abut it anymore, okay?"
Just sitting there, staring, Lana wasn't sure what to make of what the man said. Only slowly asked, "Daddy?"
"What?" He still wouldn't look at her.
"You love Gramps too. Huh?"
"Yeah, baby." Swallowing more his swollen throat then than air, Laxus managed to get out, "A lot."
They went for a walk, after that, and Lana held Daddy's hand without prompting, because she was a big girl. And, as she found out, big girls got ice cream.
They brought home some to Mommy and Gramps, but neither seemed to really want it.
Mr. Salamander (that damn bastard, as Laxus called him) and his kitty that Lana loved so much, who had stopped by, did though. Mommy's friend Lucy was there too and scolded them for being rude, but Mommy had on that really weird grin she got when others were over and only waved them off.
After they were finished visiting with Gramps, Lana reclaimed her spot at his side while Mommy and Daddy spoke softly in the corner.
She heard her brothers (pets) names mentioned and, after a kiss to the cheek of his wife, Laxus waved to his daughter and grandfather, claiming he needed to go tend to the mutts.
Mommy seemed much sadder when they were all alone, but Gramps only slept and Lana sat there on the bed, coloring.
Gramps couldn't come to her birthday party the next day, but a lot of the gifts she got that day were bearing his name. Some of her friends from the neighborhood (the kids that Laxus deemed frequently unworthy and Lana, on more than one occasion, had sunken her teeth into; so what, she was a biter, get over it) came and she was able to forget, for a bit, about how sad all her family was.
Mommy made her this big cake that Raijin and Tenjin weren't allowed any of, because it was chocolate, but Daddy said it was for the best. Uncle Bickslow whispered in her ear that he'd sneak her doggies some of the hotdogs that were served instead, if she'd like.
Aunt Evergreen and Uncle Elf (though mostly Evergreen, the woman claimed) got her a bike that they both bickered over teaching her to ride, Freed got her a bunch of new books, Aunt Lissy got her some clothes and some toys to play with, while Mommy and Daddy said they were getting her room painted purple, as she requested (it was her new favorite color; of the week; the poor schmucks should have known she'd want it pink again in another) as well as this shiny pendant with some sort of design engraved on it. Daddy had picked it up on a job, he said, and he put it on this chain, so that she could wear it around her neck.
"It kind of looks like a dragon, sort of," he said as both he and her stared down at it. "but at the same time, I think it sorta looks like something...demonic. A demon. Just like you, hatchling."
She never planned on taking it off again.
Uncle Bickslow though, out of all her family, got her the best gift of all. It had been sitting in the corner of the backyard (which Daddy had set up with tables and chairs as well as decorated a bit), with a sheet over it, but when he went to pull it off, all of her friends were impressed.
It was a big doll house!
"Hand carved," he boasted as Freed and Evergreen gave him dirty looks (they'd all agreed not to outshine one another that year on gifts; although, Bickslow would argue, considering Freed brought books to the table, he wasn't really ever planning on playing the game to begin with), his dolls fluttering around as the evening started to befall them, the sun setting in the sky. The dolls were glowing green and all the little boys were mesmerized by them as all Lana's little girl friends were staring inviously at her new doll house. "See? All the little rooms? And I painted them. And I have a box, in the house, that has all these little figurines and objects that go in it. Like a minature bathtub and couch and stuff. For all your dollies to play in. Now tell me that I'm your favorite unc-"
"Bickslow," he heard, oh, all of his family grumble, Elfman and Freed most of all. He only grinned though, at Lana, who rushed to go hug him.
Lana was nearly certain, she'd had the best birthday ever.
Mommy, however, had a different take on it.
"We have got to have," she heard Mirajane mumble later as she rested in the woman's arms, after most everyone had cleared out and all that was left were her siblings and the Thunder Legion, who were helping them pick up, "the most spoiled daughter in the world."
"You say as you carry her around," Lana heard her daddy retort. "She is, what now, Mirajane?"
"Five." Lana felt her head get a kiss. "My baby's five."
"And she deserved to have the best fifth birthday in existence."
"If she didn't get it, I'd hate to see what monster did."
She slept in her own bed that night, Lana did, with her doggies snuggled up to her. All she wanted to do though was go over to Gramps', to tell him about her amazing party. So, when she woke up sometime in the morning, she jumped right out of bed to go get ready for the day and do just that.
Only it wasn't Mommy or Daddy at home with her.
It was one of Mommy's friends. Cana. And she wouldn't tell her where her parents were or why she was there, but did say that they could go to the park, if she wanted.
"I wanna go see Gramps," Lana explained as Cana got her ready. She liked Cana. A lot. She didn't babysit often (she wasn't sober often), but when she did, they had tons of fun.
Cana hummed a bit, when she said this, before saying, "Let's just eat. Huh, squirt? Then go to the park. Maybe we can bring one of your dogs-"
"Brothers."
"Of course."
She didn't stay with Cana the whole day. Eventually Aunt Lissy took over watching her, with Uncle Bickslow in tow, but both seemed down and upset about something. Bickslow played with her though, with her new doll house. He had his babies pretend to be some of her dolls and it was just great.
Eventually, Aunt Ever and Uncle Elf showed up. He was crying, but that wasn't too weird, and Aunt Ever and Aunt Lissy just shushed him as the man tried to pull himself together.
For a good while, the four of them were there for Lana to play with. Along with her brothers, of course. They were there too. They were always there.
Freed came home with Mommy. Lana had a lot to ask the woman, but Aunt Ever tried to tell her that maybe she shouldn't bother her mother at the moment.
Mira didn't want that though and, even though she looked very tired, she came and snatched Lana up from the living room floor where she'd been playing Go Fish with Aunt Lisanna and Uncle Bickslow (they were both big cheaters) and take her off upstairs, leaving Freed with the others.
"Where's Daddy?" Lana asked as Mirajane took her to the main bedroom, dropping her gently on the bed. "How come Cana was here? Did Daddy go on a job?"
"No, sweetie." Mirajane smoothed down Lana's silvery hair. It hadn't darkened much, since she was born, but in certain light, it looked just a tad blonde. Laxus liked to mention that to Mira all the time, as if it made a difference. "He didn't."
"Then where is he? He said we'd play with my toys today!"
Mirajane was standing in front of her, as Lana sat on the edge of the bed, and only stared down at her daughter with rather red eyes. When she didn't respond, Lana sat up real tall and reached up.
"What's wrong?" she asked, hand just gracing her mother's cheek. "Mommy?"
"Let's wait until Daddy gets home to talk about it."
Lana watched with big eyes as her mother moved around the room, first going over to the dresser to take off her earrings and other jewelry before going into the bathroom. It sounded like she was sniffling, just a bit, but Lana was sure she was imagining it.
Daddy came home about ten minutes later. She could hear him, down there, talking with the others, but she just sat on the bed, waiting for him to come up and see her and her mother. It didn't take very long.
"Hey, Lana," he greeted as he opened the door and came in. He too looked rather beat down. He immediately came over to the bed to hug her, Lana wrapping her arms around him just as tightly. "Mmmm. Hatchling."
"Where did you go?" she asked against his chest as she stood there, on the bed, and him standing before it. "Daddy?"
Laxus only looked towards the bathroom door, where he could hear his wife finishing up the shower she'd apparently grabbed. Sighing, he moved to let his daughter go before sitting down beside her on the bed. Patting his thigh, she quickly moved to take a seat there.
"Oh, hatchling." Laxus leaned down, nuzzling his head against hers. "You and Daddy have to talk about something."
"You left without playing," she accused, though it was softly, as even at (newly crowned) five, she could tell something was up. "Daddy."
"I know. Early this morning, while you were sleeping, Mommy came back home from Gramps' place."
Lana hadn't know she'd left, but it made sense. Mirajane always spent the night over there with the man. After the party and putting her daughter to bed, she probably went there.
"Why?"
"Mmmm," Laxus hummed. "Because she needed to come tell me that Gramps… He fell asleep last night, baby, and then he just…"
The bathroom door opening didn't make Laxus lift his head, but Lana did glance over there. Mira's hair was still a bit wet as she came closer.
Mirajane's eyes found Laxus', questioning silently. When he shook his head, she only moved to get down on her knees, in front of the two of them, so that she could stare at Lana too.
"Sweetie," she said, reaching out to take the five year old's cheeks in her hands. "Last night, Master...went on to go be with all of your other grandparents. He-"
"What?" Lana jerked her head out of her mother's hands as she turned it to stare up at her father. "Daddy, what-"
"Baby, Gramps… He's..." Laxus looked up too then, and away form her, as Mirajane reached out to gently stroke Lana's cheek. "Gramps died, hatchling. Last night. He went to sleep and it didn't hurt and he feels so much better now. Just like he told you. He-"
Lana started to try to wiggle out of his lap then, whining a bit, but not really saying anything. It was more confusing to her, than anything, and she didn't like what they were saying or how they were acting and she just wanted them to take her over to Gramps' house, so that she could see him.
That's all. The only thing she'd ever ask for again. She wanted to go see her Gramps. She had to.
It was so late that, when Lana was all tantrumed out, Laxus and Mirajane put her to bed in their bed, him going to get her some stuffed animals and her going to get her brothers so that they could all join her in it. Leaving her in the (un)capable hands of her stuffed dragon, baby dolls, and Tenjin and Raijin, Laxus and Mirajane headed downstairs.
The others were all still waiting for them, of course, in the living area. Evergreen and Elfman were taking up opposite ends of the couch, him sobbing, her looking stoic as ever, while Bickslow and Lisanna were on the loveseat, the former leaning against the latter as the latter toyed absently with her hair, though neither were talking, as they usually would, and both seemed rahter distant.
Freed seemed to have been pacing the entire time, back and forth, from one end of the room to the other. At the sight of Laxus and Mirajane, however, he came to an abrupt stop, right there in the middle.
It was Lisanna, of course, who managed to speak first.
"How's Lana?" she asked softly as Mirajane and Laxus stopped as well, at the bottom of the staircase, to stare at the others. Laxus had one arm around Mirajane's shoulders, but neither seemed to be deriving any comfort from one another in the tense moments.
"Sleeping," Mirajane whispered as, slowly, Laxus led his wife further into the room and over to the big recliner that belonged to him. He fell into it, but when he tried to pull her down, she resisted. "Laxus, I have to make tea and-"
"I can do that," Freed said rather quickly as Lisanna only shoved up from her spot resting against Bickslow.
"And I can make sandwiches," she said, getting to her feet, the seith quickly following.
Mira still didn't want to, but she did give into Laxus then as he tugged her to her rightful place in his lap. Elfman had lifted his head, when they entered, and stared for a moment at them over there before dropping his head back into his hands.
Just as he was taking in a haggard breath to begin sobbing, Laxus growled, "Get out. If you're going to do that, just get out. You-"
"Laxus," Mira whispered, but her brother was already getting to his feet and rushing off to the kitchen too.
Then there were three.
Evergreen stared over at the pair, for a moment, before looking off.
"Perhaps," she said, not looking towards them, "it would be best if the two of you went to bed. If you thought the hall was bad today, now the news has had a chance to...circulate. People from other guilds will be-"
"The guild will be closed to non-members tomorrow."
Both Laxus and Evergreen stared at Mirajane as she spoke, but she didn't look at either of them. Only sat there, leaning back against her husband, and staring straight ahead, at their cozy fireplace in the corner.
"We let people come and mourn today," she said simply. "And they will have a chance again, at the funeral and wake. Tomorrow we have business to attend to."
"What business? Mira?" Laxus asked, wrapping an arm around her stomach. "Demon?"
"Master… Master didn't officially leave a successor."
"Right," Evergreen said slowly, staring over at the two of them. "Because we all know that it's going to be...Laxus, right?"
"No one else wants it," the slayer agreed softly.
And that was true. Erza had been offered it, as well as Gildarts, and Macao, but none wished to fill the role.
Laxus, though not the appointed, was the next viable option.
Until Mirajane spoke, that is.
"Master and I talked a lot, these past few days," she said, eyes still fixed on the fireplace. "Especially last night, when I got there. I think he...knew."
That hung in the air for a moment before Laxus whispered, "What did he tell you though, Mira?"
"A lot."
"But about me being Master-"
"That… He didn't think it would be good for you." Mira swallowed too, after saying that as Evergreen, who, while miserable over the death of their Master, had lost much over the years, and found time to thank whatever ruled over them from above that she hadn't gone off to the kitchen with the others. So thankful. Continuing, Mira whispered, "That you wouldn't enjoy it. And-"
"He never said this to me," Laxus argued though his tone was still soft. "What-"
"Master thought that I should be the next Master." She raised her head too as Laxus' arms fell away from holding her. "And tomorrow, in front of the others, I'm going to accept."
Things felt still, for all of a minute. Then, with a deep growl, Laxus asked, "What the hell are you-"
"Tomorrow, Laxus."
"No. Now, Mira. You-"
"Tomorrow."
"Now."
"Laxus, tonight isn't the time or place for-"
"You're telling me that my damn grandfather-"
"We have guests."
"Fuck the guests!"
"Lana's upstairs, sleeping." Mira slipped out of his lap too as he only glared. Not glancing back at him, she headed to the kitchen. She was being cool to him, she had been since she came and got him, nearly 24 hours ago, to inform him that Makarov had passed on. "Go cool down. Come back when you've processed-"
"Why are you doing this to me? Huh?" Laxus forgot about Ever even being in the room then, as he stared after his wife. "The same day you tell me my grandfather's dead, you take my dream from me too? What are you-"
"It isn't your dream, Laxus. And you know it."
"Oh, and it's yours?"
That got her to stop, at the doorway, before saying over her shoulder, "I'm doing this, dragon. We can talk about it more later. When we're alone. I'm sorry. I love you."
Laxus always heard that bereavement came in waves. Even the first day. Those first couple of hours were rough, but after that, it was just a roller coaster of ups and downs.
And at the moment, the slayer was on a definite down.
"Fuck you then, Mira," he called out loudly, alerting then not only Ever of their fight, but the whole house. "My grandfather just died last night and you're doing this to me? What kind of wife are you? Huh?"
In the kitchen, the others were all just standing there, Lisanna and Bickslow at the table where they were prepping sandwiches, Elfman seated, mid-sob, and Freed over at the stove, making tea. Mirajane just stood there though, not looking at any of them.
"I can't… Fuck."
That was Laxus, as he got up, in the living room, and left. Ever called after him and Freed rushed in there, but he needed to be alone.
One day without their Master and, already, they were falling apart.
Laxus never came back home that night. The others spent it in his house, with Mirajane and Lana, so he really didn't have them to worry about.
Not that he wanted to at the moment. Worry about Mira, that is. Lana, he definitely was worried about, but also knew there was a good chance she'd just sleep the night away.
At sunrise, after walking around aimlessly for hours, he figured he'd better head over to the guildhall and find out just what Mira was planning.
Apparently, while they were at the hall the previous day, dealing with the aftermath of Makarov's death, Mira had gotten the word out there was going to be a meeting because the place was packed.
There were some tears going on and Laxus spotted where he was sure he was supposed to sit, up in front of the stage, where the Thunder Legion and Lisanna were, as well as some of what the others called 'Makarov's inner circle', such as Team Natsu and the like. Mirajane stood up on it, with Freed for some reason (he was kind of the surrogate Laxus, in a lot of ways; the two were actually rather close), clearly about to address the Fairy Tail members.
Instead of pushing his way through the nameless losers that he didn't know (Laxus was really bad about networking; he had a hard enough time remembering facts about that 'inner circle' everyone always griped about). It didn't help either that the guild had grown over the years. By a lot.
Far too big, for his taste. Not large enough for Makarov's.
Sigh.
Hanging near the back, Laxus found a wall to lean up against. No one noticed him, it seemed, other than freaking Gajeel who came in late (he looked dog tired) and happened to walk passed him.
"Shouldn't you be up there?" he grumbled, trying to sound tough, though the dark circles under his eyes showed he hadn't slept in a good while. "To, you know, talk to us or whatever?"
Right. That's what everyone thought was going on. They though that Laxus was about to be inaugurated.
Ha.
"Go find your stupid woman and cat, nut sucker," Laxus grunted. "I ain't in the mood."
"I's tryin' to give my condolences," the other slayer griped right back, though he was heading out to do just that. "But never mind."
Laxus' eyes fell, once more, at the stage, where Mirajane was, before over to the Thunder Legion and Lisanna again. It was then that he noticed, after a quick glance around, that Elfman wasn't anywhere to be found.
He must be the one babysitting Lana. Good. Laxus really didn't want to deal with that dolt while watching his childhood dream be snatched away from him.
Arms crossed over his chest, he was no less scowls when Mira, finally, started talking.
She began, of course, by silencing them all and asking for a chance to share with them a few things. Then she detailed when the Master's service would be held, what time, and things such as that. She also told people that, while, they were all grieving, she wished for them all to allow Laxus time to heal and not to bother him too much especially.
"How," came the voice of someone else over the sound of others, "can we do that? If he's going to be our Master?"
That got some grumbles of agreement as well as others, glancing around. Laxus kept his mouth shut though.
"That's why you're also here," Mira told them all loudly. "And please, I can answer questions after this all. It would all be best if you let me finish."
Laxus wanted to tell them all to shut the fuck up, that his woman was talking, and that if they didn't show her some respect, he'd bring the whole damn guild down on top of them.
But at the moment, he was too pissed at her to care.
"As you all know," Freed started speaking them, silencing them all because, apparently, he was filling in like usual. Bickslow and Elfman were Lana's cool uncles, but Freed was the strict one. He did Mira's bidding quite well (though at times it seemed that was more to please Laxus, than anything else, but Mira didn't care). Of course with Laxus off, pouting, he'd be her rock. Didn't make her feel any better about not having her dragon, but it was something. "Master Makarov did not make a formal request for another to become Master in the result of his...untimely demise. There was much he wished to get done, even in his illness, before he left the hall to someone else, but, as it typically is so, those plans will now go unfinished."
Freed was standing with his arms clasped behind his back, staring out at all the others, while Mirajane seemed a bit nervous, rubbing at one arm.
It was hard on her too, Laxus knew. On them all, fine, as they all loved Makarov, but Mirajane had been closer to him than most. The man had gotten Mirajane through those horrible years when she thought her sister was dead and, in return, she'd been the man's faithful helper for the rest of his life. It only intensified, when she began dating Laxus.
"This, obviously," Freed was continuing, in his overly analytical tone, "would leave quite the conundrum as to the next Master of Fairy Tail. However, thankfully, Makarov realized in his final days that this would occur and left us with a successor. Before he passed, he named his granddaughter-in-law, Mirajane Dreyar, as-"
And then it started, the grumbles and complaints, growing louder. For some reason though, over those, Laxus could hear Natsu cheer for Mirajane as well as Lucy shush him and Happy clap loudly.
Laxus was so glad that he didn't go sit up front with that inner circle. They were annoying as hell.
"This ain't right!" came loudest complaint of all, from some guy in the crowd that Laxus didn't know. He was a big guy, only a bit tinier than Elfman, muscular and intense looking. His hair was cut into a spiky Mohawk and he was the last guy that Laxus was ever going to let speak to his wife that way. "The hell are we gonna be led? Huh? By a stupid barmaid? The hell does she know about running a guild?"
And see? That was the problem that Laxus had with the big guild that Makarov loved so much. You had too many people that didn't know each other. That didn't understand one another or one another's powers. Strengths. There were just too many people.
And, apparently, ones that didn't even know who their S-Class members were.
Dumb fucks.
"I know a lot, actually," Mira called over the sound of the discord going on. There were still some crying, but now, mostly, the ones that weren't in the inner circle were being complained at by the ones that were in it, as they wished to be happy for Mirajane, rather than listen to the grumbles of how unfit she was. The closest to Laxus, at the moment, happened to be Cana, who was mourning her Master the only way she knew how; by getting sloppy drunk.
Around a barrel, she yelled right back at those making complaints, saying that there was no better leader than Mary Jane and they were all foolish to think otherwise.
"Master chose me," Mirajane kept up, on the stage. Then she addressed a few people that she noticed in the crowd complaining by name, something Laxus would never have been able to do (Levy was lucky, honestly, if he called her by something other than just nut sucker's girlfriend). "He knew that I'm the only one other than him that can hold the hall together. He-"
All of the turmoil during the past day was starting to spill over though. Into arguments between the people who were truly mourning Makarov, that had been practically raised and molded by him, and the ones that had joined the guild in the past few years, who rarely saw Makarov and knew very little about him because, simply, Fairy Tail had been lucky recently and there had been very little threats in the past few years, leaving them to not know his strength or power.
The division was palpable. And, over it all, there became a single request.
"We demand," someone yelled, starting the others off in agreement, "a vote! We should get to vote for who our new master is! Instead of some stupid barmaid!"
Lisanna, who was upset, of course, by the response Mirajane was getting, was probably the loudest of her sister's defenders.
"Mirajane is the Master, so just get over it," she yelled at the others more than once.
"Lisanna," Mira tried, but then the literal brawls broke out and her and Freed jumped down from the stage, to go break people up.
And that was it. Laxus had had enough.
Shoving up from the wall, he first passed Cana, snatching her barrel from her and slammed it down on the floor before her, giving her a stern look that said she was definitely cut off, before shoving his way through the crowd, none too kindly.
"Would you all," he growled over the sound of all the others as he approached the stage, "shut the fuck up?"
Jumping up onto it, Laxus stood before his guildhall with dark eyes, electricity jumping from his body as he thought, honestly and truly then, about striking them all down, Biblical style, and being done with it.
"I said," he yelled again, "to shut the fuck up! The hell do you people think you are? This is my grandfather's damn guildhall! You think that his spirit isn't here? Right now? Watching you? Disrespect his decision? Hell, half you morons didn't even know Gramps. And you sure as hell don't know my wife, if you think she's just some damn barmaid. Who do you think gets this place ready every morning? Pays the bills? Make sure that you all have jobs? Smooths things over when you fuck ups screw a job to hell? Huh? You're talking to fucking Satan Soul, you imbecils. And if I let her, she'd rip apart everyone of her detractors."
It was less the speech and more the sound of looming thunder outside, a loud boom of it, that got them all to settle down and stare fearfully up at the stage. Natsu, who was, of course, enjoying the brawling (it was really helping him get over the fact that he'd just lost Gramps), was the only one brave enough to speak then.
"Well, I have an idea then," he said as Freed literally came to pull him off another guild member, tossing him to the ground, though the other slayer's eyes only stared up at the stage with glee. "Let's have a tournament. For the strongest member! And then-"
"I'm this close, flametard," Laxus growled, glaring down from the stage at him, "to-"
"Laxus is right." And that came from a more well known powerhouse in the guildhall. Erza. She had that scary look in her eyes too, upset that they were defiling Makarov's hall in such a time with their needless violence and disrespect. Coming to stand before the stage, she said, "I am disgusted. Wtih all of you. To behave this way. Master Makarov passed only hours ago and you are going to sully his legacy in such a way? There was no other, not even I, that Master trusted more than Mirajane. And I know her not to be one to capitalize off death of a man she revered more than anyone, all to gain power. Should anyone believe that, I wish them to speak to me and me alone, now." Silence. For a good minute. Then, bowing her head, Erza said, "And if anything, we would never hold a...vote or a tournament, for something of such great importance. Even without Mirajane's admission, the guild would have gone straight into the hands of Laxus. None of you. And don't think for a second that this behavior will help any of you move any ranks up in the eyes of anyone in the guild. Despicable."
Laxus, never one to be used to Erza being on his side, nodded down at her, from up on the stage before looking down at the crowd. When his eyes found Mirajane's glistening ones, he nodded her back up.
She was hurt, he could tell, by the way that she was being treated about something she'd been told to do by the Master. She'd been cool, towards Laxus, the night before, but had more to do with the nature of their relationship, probably. She knew that if she broke down, if she was sad, if she dissolved into herself, then that would force him to care for her. To put his own mourning on the back burner and focus on hers.
And she never wanted that.
At the moment though, everything was falling apart and she hadn't even known he was there, honestly, and she just…
She needed her husband.
And there he was.
Laxus helped Mirajane up on the stage, holding a hand out to her, and kept their fingers interlocked as they stood before the guildhall, Makarov's children, and addressed them.
"Erza's right," Laxus said as Mira stood at his side. "If anything, this guildhall would be mine. And if you don't trust my wife, that's fine. Because I..." He glanced at Mirajane then before back out at all them. "Because I concede. Even if Master didn't hand the hall over to Mirajane, I am. She's your Master now. Be proud. You have one of the strongest, toughest, smarted mages in all of Fiore to lead you. If you don't think that's a step in the right direction, if you have a problem with one of our longest S-Class wizards becoming your master, if you can't serve under a woman, if you don't know enough about Fairy Tail to know how many times she's saved our damn asses, and if you think of a damn second that she's only a fucking barmaid, then I have a damn door for ya."
Mirajane looked up at him, after he finished, but Laxus wouldn't return the stare. He just glared out at the others, having one of the worst days of his life, and ready to strike down anyone who opened their damn mouths.
Silence.
Swallowing down those dang nerves in her stomach, Mirajane looked out at her hall as well, glancing around at them all. Her eyes fell to her sister, who was with Bickslow, of course, as well as Natsu, who'd come to pout at her side, and only smiled up at her oldest sibling.
At the very least, she had all of their support.
It was just time to find the support of all the others.
Hand still locked with her husband's, Mirajane said loudly, "I know, that this is quite a shock for some of you, and I know that Master didn't plan it this way, but I hope to be a good Master. Like he was. And the ones before him. And then followed him. Only for him to follow them again." That made her giggle a bit, which Laxus felt like telling her wasn't the sign of a serious Master, but he figured he had to let her make her own mark. "And he thought that I could do it, so I know I can. There will be changes, of course, to certain things, but as someone who's tended to this guild for the majority of my life, I have to say, I have faith that we'll only grow even more powerful. Not without Master Makarov, but in honor of him."
Laxus and Mirajane went home together, some time later, after the hall cleared out a bit. It was closed, for the day, but it took some time for the others leave. Kinana offered to stick around and clean up the place a bit, and prep it for opening for real, the following day, giving Laxus and Mirajane clearance to leave as well.
On their walk there, Laxus kept his hand in Mirajane's. It made her feel a bit better and, after some quiet between them, she said, "I never did any of that to hurt you, dragon."
"I know."
"I love you."
"I know."
"If Master hadn't asked me, personally to be-"
"Mira, I know." He squeezed her hand. "And...out of the two of us, you probably are more fit for the job. Fuck, I had never even seen some of those people in there. Most of them, actually. I always think our guild is made up of, like, thirty people."
"Those were the days."
"Yeah." He kicked at the ground. "Weren't they?"
Lana wasn't doing any better, when they got home, but she was glad to have Laxus back. Mirajane had funeral preparations to finish up and requested the Thunder Legion and her siblings let her husband have some space for awhile.
So he and Lana were alone. They were so in sync, always, that they both knew the only way to get over Makarov and all the feelings they were having was to build a fort.
"I miss Gramps," Lana told him as they sat in it, him lying huddled on his side, so he fit, and her just on her butt, sniffling a bit. The doggies were in there too, the fort was so big, as it was in the middle of the living room floor, Tenjin and Raijin each chewing on some bones in their half of the fort. "Daddy. Can't I go see 'im?"
"I'm sorry, baby." He let out a slow breath. "But he's not here anymore. He's...with my mother and your mommy's mother and father. And trust me, I know that he's with you, right now. You know that? All of them are."
Sniffling some more, Lana looked down at her pendant she'd gotten at her birthday. "Uncle Elf said that Mommy's gonna be the Mas'er now."
"She's gonna be the best Master ever, yeah." Laxus smiled, even though he didn't want to, and said, "You know, when I was a little bit older than you, my mother got sick, kinda like Gramps, and passed away too. I spent a lotta time wishing that she could come back too. I don't remember, of course, that first day after I found out, but… It was pretty hard for me too. I know that you loved Gramps. And he knew it too. He-"
"If I didn't go to my party," she whined, falling down to lay on her back, "then I couldda kept death away and he'd still be okay!"
That made Laxus frown. Siting up, just slightly as he couldn't clear the top of the fort otherwise, the man spoke.
"Lana, that's not why Gramps died."
"Yes, it is!"
"No, silly, look, snuggle up to Daddy." Pulling her closer to him, the man said, "Maybe Mommy and Daddy didn't explain this well enough to or something. See, death isn't...sentient. It isn't a person or a grim reaper or something. It's just...what happens. Like… You know how sometimes, we'll bake a cake, right? But if we don't eat it in time, it will start to go stale?" When she nodded, he said, "That's because of time. Time moves and changes things. Gramps' time just ran out, is all."
She snorted up a bunch snot then (it was kind of gross, honestly) before saying, "I hate time! I want it to bring Gramps back!"
"You don't hate it, baby," he said though, honestly, he felt the same at times. "Without time, you wouldn't be here right now. If time froze and stopped moving, back before my mother died, then I'd still be your age and yeah, she'd still be here, but it wouldn't mean anything. It wouldn't be real. That's what life is. Time. That's all it is. That's how we know we're alive, watching things change. Like your birthday. That was because of time. It's how you went from being a tiny little baby growing in your mommy's tummy to being the big five year old that you are right now."
He tickled her too, then, but Lana didn't giggle. Just tried to wiggle away from him.
"Daddy-"
"Baby, Daddy misses Gramps too. So much. Already." Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to her forehead. "And I always will. But it's okay to, you know, miss someone. There's nothing wrong with it. It just means that you loved them. Love them. That you still love them. That's all. And one day, you'll get to be with him and your other grandparents too."
For a moment, this confused Lana. Then, with a frown, she stared up at him in surprise.
"You mean," she whined, "that I'm gonna die too?"
"Oh, baby, don't worry about that right now." He leaned down to nuzzle his head against hers that time. "Just… I know. Why don't you tell Daddy about all of your favorite things you did with Gramps? Would you like that? Would it make you feel better? Or worse?"
She wasn't sure. But, after some thought, she slowly started to do it just to find out.
It was a big decision for Mirajane and Laxus to make, whether or not to let Lana go to the funeral. It would be very crowded, given Makarov's prominence in the community and those surrounding. Still though, they felt it was a valuable learning experience. Not to mention, with everyone they knew going, it was either that or give Lana to one of the neighbors and, well, with her so worked up over her grandfather's death, the risk of her biting (or hitting, spitting, clawing, ect.) was high.
No need to put that burden off on someone else.
Lana liked her dress, anyhow, that her Aunt Ever picked out for her. Black. She liked that color. She mostly liked to say it, but same thing.
She could tell that Daddy was very nervous over the whole thing. He was one of the people that was going to be speaking about Master Makarov and it had him on edge.
A lot of people she didn't know though complimented her on what a good girl she was. Many past members and members of other guilds approached her parents to shake their hands and give their condolences.
"Surely this isn't the Lana Dreyar that I always hear so much about?" one really big guy said as he stared down at her in shock. He was a pretty important guy, Lana could tell, because the whole town had went into a frenzy over his arrival. It seemed that some were glad, even, that Master had passed, as it at least led to a visit from the man. "You're so big!"
Rather bashful after so much attention, Lana only blushed and swayed a bit, looking everywhere, but at him.
"Can you say hi, Lana?" Mirajane prompted as they stood there, at the memorial service, in front of the man's casket. Turning her head, she buried it in her mother's dress, muttering something that made both Mirajane and the man laugh. To him, Mira said, "A lot's been going on, is all. She's usually not so rude."
"That's alright. A lot going on is right." The redhead man, Lana observed, turned his attention to her mother then. "I hear that you're my new master."
"Soemthing like that, yeah."
"Then I am honored, Mirajane," he said, reaching out to take her hand, Mirajane blushing, just a bit, at getting such attention from the man that they all revered so much when they were children, "to address you as so. Master Mira, call upon me for any job that you should wish."
"Thank you," she breathed, eyes alight for the first time in days, "Gildarts."
"If you'll excuse me, I should go find a seat. Not to mention my daughter..." Glancing down once more, the man, Gildarts, smiled at the youngest Dreyar before saying, "It's good to see you, Ms. Lana. You'll take care of your parents for me, huh? And the guildhall? While I'm away?"
She only cowered further into her mother's dress and, with a laugh, the man was gone.
She met a lot of other people that day too. Some guys from Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus, as well as some very nice ladies from Mermaid Heel. And, at one point, when her parents were busy and she was with Erza, she met some very creepy people that hung around at the back of the graveyard that had their hoods up and wouldn't let her see their faces.
Erza seemed pretty happy to see them though.
After the very long and boring funeral, Lana was allowed the reprieve of going to what she was told was a party.
It was not.
It basically was just going up to the guild to watching people get drunk and cry about Gramps.
Mommy was very busy and Daddy just about the same. Aunt Lissy and Mr. Salamander (that bastard) played with her though, outside, on the guild property. And Happy too! And Lucy came to join them after awhile. Uncle Bickslow as well.
"Hey, Salamander?" Lana asked at one point as, during a game of hide and seek, the man took to running away with her up on his shoulders, hiding them behind some bushes from the others.
"What?" Natsu took her off his shoulders and let her sit with him, down there, under the bush. "Lana?"
"Daddy says that Gramps is still with me, but… Where?"
"He's just like my dad. Igneel." Natsu moved then, to tap her gently against the chest, making the little girl giggle. "He's right in there."
"In my body?"
"In your heart," he said with a nod of his head. "Can't you feel him?"
"Mmmm...Maybe."
"He'll always be in there." He ruffled her white hair then. "Just like how I got Igneel in me!"
"And like how Daddy has a lacr'ma in him?"
"Sorta, yeah! You're super smart, Lana."
Yeah. She knew.
That night, after everything was all said and done and they were closing down the hall for the night, Lana got to spend some time with her parents again.
Mirajane was helping Kinana and Lisanna clean up while Evergreen and Elf sat in a corner, talking softly. Bickslow mostly just sat around and continued to gripe about how bored he was, hoping in vain to speed Lisanna's cleaning up, while his babies floated around and gave off similar remarks.
In the back office though, where Freed and Laxus were cleaning out Makarov's stuff in preparation for Mira moving her own in, Lana was sitting up in her Gramps' chair, toying with the pendant around her neck.
"You feelin' better, hatchling?" Laxus asked at one point when he noticed her giggling and drawing on the coloring book they'd put out for her on the desk. "Huh?"
"Mmmhmm." She grinned over at him as Freed, who was cleaning out the filing cabinet, trying to figure out what needed to stay and go, smiled over at the little girl as well.
"That is good," he said with a nod of his head. "I was quite young, perhaps even younger than you, when I was first introduced into the macabre experience that is death. I feel it has shaped me into what I am today. Your acceptance of your grandfather's death and future absence in your life is admirable."
"Freed," Laxus grumbled.
"What? I am only-"
"Gramps isn't gone, Freed," Lana told him, glancing up from her coloring with a grin. Patting at her chest with her free hand, she said, "Mr. Salamander says he's in here. Like his daddy. And Daddy's lacr'ma."
"The Salamander?" Laxus puffed out his chest. What about all the great advice he'd given to her? About death and coping with it. "That bastard."
Mirajane, however, when she found out about how Natsu had, somehow, connected with Lana only giggled.
"Don't you get it, dragon?"
"Get what?" he grumbled that night as they laid down to go to sleep, without Lana in their bed crying, for the first night since her birthday party. "What's there to get?"
"Natsu can explain things like that to Lana because they're, you know, the same."
"The same?"
"They're both five, basically."
He rolled his eyes. "Basically."
"But you're a mature, grown man." Mirajane snuggled her dogs up to her because it didn't matter if they were in mourning or content; Raijin and Tenjin always slept with their mama. "Who thinks of things in a mature, grown man way. You should thank Natsu, really."
"Is that what I should do?"
"That's what you should do."
"Because I think," he said, shifting closer to her, bowing his head a bit to nuzzle it against her, "that I should be thanking my wife right about now for being such a great woman and helping me get through this. Don't you?" He lips got a kiss before, against them, he breathed, "Master?"
Mira's eyes turned glassy, but in a good way that time, as she reached a hand out to brush it against his beard. "I couldn't be anything without you."
"Yeah," he sighed as he moved to kiss her again. "Same."

So me and @bnha-villians-hc-and-imagines were originally going to work on some Starbucks AU stuff because we both suffer in that hell but it became less of an AU and more of a rage induced ranting session so I’m posting it here so y’all can do with this as you will. Be warned there’s a lot of cursing and caps lock lmao
STARBUCKS RAGE:
Me, Tiki:
You come in every fucking day and can’t seem to figure out how the creamer works for whatever fucking reason so I always end up having to pour it for you IT’s NOT THAT FUCKING HARD JUST UNSCREW THE CAP
You keep coming in and just saying “mocha” and I don’t understand what you’re asking STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE I’M STUPID WHEN I ASK YOU HOT OR COLD JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION PLS THERE’S A LINE
Lmao fuck,,, If you come in one more time and ask for a cup of whipped cream I will have you feel the wrath of god.png

“Do you have (insert breakfast sandwich) right now?” “no we don’t sorry.” “WELL WHAT DO YOU HAVE??” Me, two feet away from the display case: “We have whatever’s in the case” “Well what’s in the case??” I DON’T KNOW KAREN WHY DON’T YOU USE YOUR EYES AND FIND OUT??

i weigh myself once a week. stepped on the scale today & it said i gained 3 pounds. i know how weight loss works, i’ve been yo-yo dieting since i was 11. i’m familiar with calories in/calories out, i know it’s just about impossible to gain that much weight in just a couple of days
but it’s so. fucking. discouraging.
i’m hungry all the time. so hungry i dream about food. i’m eating around 1300 calories a day and i’m still starving. my stomach constantly hurts, i feel nauseous and weak, it’s hard to concentrate on anything but my next meal
i feel like crying!! god, i feel like crying. i’m in a terrible mood and have been for three weeks
hungry, tired, sad, and for all my efforts, the scale says i’ve gained 3 lbs. i know i didn’t. but what if i did? now i have to wait another week to weigh and every time i walk past the fucking bakery at the grocery store to get mushrooms or see a cold dr. pepper at the check out it’s going to be torture
food addiction is no joke i wanna die. i don’t want to eat a bowl of rubbery shirataki noodles, i want real pasta. i don’t want boneless, skinless chicken tenders, i want a damn steak. i want soda and orange juice and pizza, i want a big fat chocolate iced donut with cream filling
cry
