Don't mind me, just casually sliding this little Empires SMP S1 headcanon.
Alright, so you know how Empires Pearl wears a flower crown made of sunflowers? Well, I thought that "what if Pearl does have a crown that's not mad of flowers? Only she knows she doesn't have to wear it to be recognized as a queen"
Because she frequently visits her people, so people can so easily recognize her. Of course, visitors to her Empire would sometimes not recognize her as the queen because of this, but it doesn't really matter much to her. So she doesn't wear it.
Anyways, some of the visitors sometimes wonder wear sue gets the flower crowns. Since they didn't look to be made by an adults hand, due to how messy it looked.
And that's because it wasn't! It was made by the kid of a regular farmer who liked making flower crowns.
Everyday, Pearl would fly down to their farm and asked the little girl to make her a flower crown made of sunflowers that she could wear for the entirety of the day.
And at the end of the day, she would place the flower crown on a cabinet layered with preservation spells among the other flower crowns her little friend made for her.
Years later, when Gilded Helianthia was no longer it's prospering country, instead something lost to history, archeologist and historians will find the ruins of the farming Empires. They will find small little tributes in all the houses, each with a painting of a women in a green dress, golden wings, and a flower crown made of sunflowers.
Then they will find the cabinet, filled with flower crowns. Not a single one wilted.

Shoutout to @/agenticed’s little Stockshop fic called Infestation which is technically about hysterical domestic shenanigans but got me spinning some horrific horrific Stockman headcanons again <3333
⚠️ Full warning, this gets a little fucked up and graphic, Insane In The Membrane style.
Like…… after everything, I think Stockman has some majorrrr trauma about rot (for Insane In The Membrane reasons) and rodents (for Mousers reasons) specifically, but also pests in general.
His lab is always, always pristine. The moment something got used it’s getting rinsed, everything goes back in its place, and partially this is just y’know, general lab safety, it’s good practice. But part of it is, what if something doesn’t get cleaned properly right away, what if you touch something and it will react with your skin, eat at it, melt it, ruin it.
He can’t leave dishes in the sink. The moment the food’s eaten, everything is getting washed, or he’s never gonna bring himself to touch it. What if it rots? What if there’s mold? What if he accidentally breathes it in? What if it catches onto him, roots in his flesh, burrows too deep in him to ever be rid of it?
It’s the worst with dead bodies, honestly. He doesn’t see many of them these days (thank God) but working with the organic Mousers can lead to the occasional corpse, either of a Mouser or something it had caught, and while dissecting his own creations properly in his lab tends to be fine (safe space, familiar process on a familiar project, focus on the science like you always have, you can always rely on science), the Mousers are experimental and sometimes die outside while working and have to be retrieved. Sometimes it takes a while for people to retrieve them.
And those can be terrifying.
When the flesh smells of rot and is being overtaken by scavengers, worms and bugs and all sorts of small living things, when it starts falling apart easier, so much easier than it should, it’s hard not to make it personal. It’s hard not to think about your own lower jaw slowly, gradually, unhinging from where it’s supposed to be, of your eyesight blurring much faster than it’s supposed to, it’s hard not to think of falling apart, witnessing yourself dying long before death takes you.
I think about that a lot.

"...That was reckless."
(woah, an actual fan fic! Well, TW for talk of injury, infected zombie type stuff, apocalypse, and bites!)
Lust's raspy breathes were quiet, as him and Blue had hands intertwined. Behind his muzzle was a smile, and on Swap's face was a frown as he worked
"Maybe after all this is over... you'll take me on that date?" Lust asked weakly, as the skeleton in Blue used his free hand cleaned the newly aquired bite on his neck.
". . ." He remaind in silence, keeping a firm hold onto the other.
Lust looked sadly at him, making a whimper as Blur pressed a particularly sore spot.
"...That was reckless." He finally said, putting away the cloth in exchange of some gauze.
"Hm? Oh... Blue‐" Lust tried to get put.
"D-Don't 'Oh Blue' me, mister! You and I both know that was reckless, you have to be more careful next time!" He scolded with anger in his voice, being more forceful than necessary to cut the gauze.
"I did it for Dream... Hun, I'm already infected, there's... There was no real danger."
Swap huffed, "Bullshit! T-The magnificent Sans saw how deep these marks are, and... and what if you hadn't have been infected!?"
Lust gave him a soft, but surprised expression. Before morphing into a small grin. "...I suppose I wouldn't have been wearing a muzzle, huh?"
"...That's—That was a t-terrible time... f-for joking..." He started to sniffle.
"Ah, I didn't mean to upset you!" Lust quickly tried to sit up, going to comfort him.
"Don't do that again!" He said suddenly, dropping hid supplies and diving in for a hug, despite that being forbidden.
"I-..." Lust paused, so Blue filled the silence.
"You matter to us, your actions were brave, b-but we both know you could've just pulled him back... or used your spear for him to bite—O-Or maybe you couldn't, and this was the only way... I still wish you took your safety more seriously..." He said softly, resting Lust's chin in his shoulders.
The one in purple, hesitated, but slowly wrapped his own arms around Blue. "I'm sorry I scared you, sweetie..."
"....I'm sorry I yelled, you don't need that right now." He replied, slowly pulling back.
"But, we can't replace you, okay? Just like we could never replace Sci, or Dream, or Ink."
The comparison to, well, uninfected, made Lust's metaphorical heart beat just a bit faster.
"Okay."
"Okay?" Blue asked, just to be sure. Lust nodded, and he smiled. Putting his arms on hid back, the skeleton in Blue gently helped Lust lay down again.
"Could you possibly stomach something to eat?" Blue asked as he tucked Lust in.
"...Do you still have any of that chocolate from... that AU?..."
Blue hummed in an affirmative manner. "From Outertale? We do. Would you like some?" Getting a nod from Lust, Blue grinned and got up.
"I'll be back soon, get comfortable!"
As he walked out of the medicinal bay, Lust was thinking two things.
One, they hadn't locked him i in quarantine yet.
And two... that's the first time he's heard 'The magnificent Sans' in awhile... made things feel just a bit more normal.

I want to read a zombie apocalypse Stranger Things story. Set after season 3, but the Byers have already moved to California. Hawkins in the epicentre because the “zombies” are flayed humans or people whose blood mixed with Demogorgon blood or whatever. So the Hawkins gang has to try to make it across the country to California because not only do they want to find their friends but they also need El. She’s the only one who has any hope of fixing this.
The thing is, they have to take their parents with them. (I assume Steve’s parents weren’t in Hawkins). Both Wheeler parents (and Holly), the Sinclairs, the Buckleys, Mrs. Henderson, and Ms. Mayfield are all dragged along by their weirdly competent children. They’re all horrified by the apocalypse and trying to act brave for their kids, but meanwhile their kids are looking up to Steve and Nancy, who are heavily armed with their bat and gun and acting like this is a normal Tuesday.
They head west, driving when the roads are clear and they can find gas, walking when they can’t. Maybe they meet people along the way. Other people fleeing Hawkins — Eddie and Wayne, maybe, who have set out on their own. Eddie hotwires a car and gets them mobile after days of walking where they’re barely made it past the Indiana border. Maybe Chrissy already ended up with them when they saved her from a prior zombie attack that killed her mom (and she and Max can bond about the mixture of grief and guilt and relief they feel). Maybe Jason is with them, annoying Eddie and Wayne to no end (he can die later on).
Technology has gone down, so there’s no real communication. (Would radios still work?). They’re heading blindly west and hoping the Byers are there. It would normally make more sense to stay out — El can find them, so they should let her come to them — but they have to keep moving because it isn’t safe. Not only are there zombies (“Demozombies!” “No, Dustin, we’re not calling them that”) but scary groups of humans who kill first and ask questions later.
Steve and Nancy grow closer as the de facto leaders of the group. They are both carrying so much weight on their shoulders, trying to make sure everyone stays alive. Nancy is the practical one who keeps them moving even when it hurts, even when they have to leave people behind, and Steve is the one who watched their six and makes sure everyone stays safe.
Dustin, Lucas, and Mike know random facts about compasses and radios that help them along the way. Erica does the math for how far they’ve gone and how long it will take them to reach California. Robin and Steve have been bonded by Starcourt but haven’t really had time to get to know each other yet and they’re doing it in an apocalypse, which turns their codependency up to 11. When Steve gets all stressed about looking after the kids or about what their life will look like now, Robin is the one who jokes with him and reminds him there’s still good in the world. He has no idea where his parents are, but he has his soulmates and his kids so he has to keep going.
Maybe they almost die at one point. They’re cornered on all sides and there’s nothing they can do and then all of the Demozombies stop and walk away. Maybe Kali finds them and saves them.
Maybe the radios still work and they find Suzie and Eden, making their way through the wilderness with a pack of their feral younger siblings.
Maybe they make it to California and the Byers aren’t there. (They had to run too. The government came for El and they’re in hiding, but El has been watching her friends and she’s coming. Maybe she never lost her powers. Maybe in the apocalypse, she got them back).
I don’t know. This idea occurred to me today, so I haven’t put a ton of thought into it yet. I just think it would be fun to have these kids go through a proper apocalypse. They’d be ready. They all keep weapons under the beds and their walkies close and they have bags packed in case they need to run. Most of the world wasn’t expecting the apocalypse. But the Party? They were ready.

Ah, if it isn’t the bitter reality of my past catching-up to me!
“My past” in this case being my absolute disinterest in the “normal” television shows that captivated my peers growing-up, so that I now have absolutely no idea how to start writing a scene set in a hospital because I never watched a single one of those ER-dramas. Fuck-dammit.

"oh it's a popular AU, it won't be too hard to find the zombie apocalypse fics in this fandom" I said, fully aware there's a character called ZombieCleo and that just dropping the word zombie into the filters search box will bring up all instances of the word zombie. Including ones part of another word. That includes names.
I'm a fool in the shape of a dog. I already have this problem with my own cubito being called Zombie in game! I can never tell if they're talking to me or yelling about the mob come on now

*gripping the sink looking intently at myself in the mirror* you do not need to consume every single piece of zombie apocalypse media. you do not need to read every zombie apocalypse AU for every fandom you are in. this is not a necessity being in a fandom.

It really strikes me that people treat fanfic authors as if they don't know anything about writing, which is weird because even before I wrote fic I cowrote a stage play I got an award for back in high school, poetry my teachers would frequently compliment, and my own original ideas in novel format- which structurally you learn in high school it's not some fucking Devine Knowledge no one knows about? If you didn't learn what an inciting incident is and the basic structure of a novel and tropes like The Heroes Journey by eleventh grade then fine but don't project that onto a format of writing you have some weird vendetta against. After that I went to uni and wrote dozens of academic essays for my degree, some of them quite extensive in length and obviously there's technical skill involved in that writing.
Besides that after I stopped writing fic I learned how to write screenplays and wrote like 3 episodes of TV shows in film school- which by the way used other showrunners ideas because writing an episode of an existing show is how you build a portfolio. That's right fanfic hating assholes, if you want a tv writing job pull out ur fuckin fanfic out so your ability to capture the voice of another show can be judged. I also wrote a movie script in school and I highly doubt I'm some Special Snowflake among fic authors, so where the hell does this idea that fic authors are all 13 year old yaoi obsessed morons who've never even seen a book their whole life and never learned even the most basics of writing like what an adjective is come from?
I know people who hold this idea don't seem to think they're misogynists but they treat fic identical to how people treat romance and erotica outside of Fic World and I highly doubt two areas in which women are the ones doing most of the writing would get targeted with the exact same rhetoric of "that's not real writing" for completely different reasons if the arguments against the fiction are basically the same. Because obviously Real Literature doesn't have romance, sex, or women writing it.
Regardless, it's utterly asinine to assume fic authors have no idea how to write because they're writing fic- like actually no, technically speaking I'm qualified to write all kinds of shit as far as what I know, so I don't much appreciate that my writing a single form of writing somehow means I have no skills or training just because Ive written that particular format according to some people. It's deeply insulting and I really do wonder if people think people who write as a hobby should even be allowed to have that hobby if theyre this obsessed with publish or don't ever even LOOK at a word. Like not only is it insulting to suggest that my hobby is somehow some particularly god awful drivel, but apparently those people don't know what a hobby is given that zero other hobbies get treated like this. No one walks around telling people if they aren't playing professional sports they can't play them at all- we just know that normal dudes playing football probably aren't Tom Brady and aren't looking to be either.

Words: 9,600
Summary:
“Max had never thought that having her mind read would be something she could experience in her lifetime, thinking it would only be possible in some far-off sci-fi future. But then again, she hadn’t thought that a zombie apocalypse was that probable either, so she guessed that at this point she shouldn’t really be that surprised. ”
