What's like one big goal you're hoping to accomplish this year?
(PS I hope you don't get COVID! Even a "mild" case sucks, my sense of taste has yet to fully recover months later!)
Oh BOY that’s a complicated question hahahah. To try and put it simplistic as possible - figure out what I want to do with my life. Or like what path to take?
#first of all thank you! I really hope I don’t get it either. I mean I’m not super worried about me cause I know it’ll suck but I’ll be fine#but now that I live with my parents I’m scared that I’ll accidentally give it to them and both of them aren’t doing the best physically#but there’s nothing I can do now…. tbh I’ve been slacking with masks and being cautious so I should probably go back to that#masks are just expensive and I’m broke#need to either find my disposable or buy new ones#I hope your taste comes back soon!!! that sounds awful 😔#anywayyy to your question#right now I just kinda feel lost in life#I need to feel like I’m going somewhere again#cause right now I just feel like I’m in limbo????#obviously would love to figure out my mental bullshit but idk how realistic that is#honestly would just love to figure out everything that’s wrong with me so I can start to feel idk normal?#idk this is probably more loaded than you were expecting haha#but especially ever since the move I’ve been so fucking lost and I want to figure out my life but idk where to even start ya know#but yeah I guess that’s my goal#on a smaller scale I would love love love to get more traffic and sales on my Etsy#I just really want to make my Etsy shop a way to be creative and make money at the same time#cause paint and art shit is expensive 😭#and when you’re already broke it’s hard to justify buying paint or canvases ya know#buuuuut if I get more sales and a bigger profit then maybe it’ll be worth it???#also I LOVE seeing my paintings somewhere else its just so bittersweet#cause I love my paintings so much so it’s hard to let go of them#but the thought of someone else hanging them up and seeing them everyday????#it’s so heartwarming 🥺#like I could help warm up your space???? with color and some love 🥰💖#I just love it so much#thanks for the question lovely 🥰🥰🥰#ask#lovely mutuals

Hi 👋,
If you're still taking requests, I absolutely loved the most recent one you did with Lucifer, Adam and Vox proposing and marrying their s/o.
If possible could you do one similar to that but for Husk and Alastor?
If not, it's totally cool and I'm loving your work 😊
hellooo, dw i’m still taking requests haha, yeah i can do that for you!! the first part was undeniably fun to write so obviously i’ll do it again for ya haha
Warnings: None(?)

Alastor Proposal + Wedding Headcanons
Alastor never really knew what love truly felt like, until he met you, from that alone — he knew you were the one
His proposal was simple, but still very gentlemanly, his shadows were his band, playing some of your shared favorite songs, and Alastor stood in a different suit than the one he normally wears, a black version with a red streak instead of the white line that goes down the collar
He stood in the center of your room in the hotel, awaiting for you to get back from work, with a bouquet of spider lilies in his hands and a ring box in his pocket.
When you arrive, he has a soft and gentle smile on his face, in contrast to the big grin he usually shows, he didn’t feel vulnerable or at risk with you, so he could wind down with you
He hands you the bouquet and gets down on one knee, taking your ring out of the box, holding it to you, as his other hand takes yours in his and kisses the back of it
“My dearest and truest love, you have made me feel more alive than I ever have, even in my years on Earth.” He started, his radio affect softer than you’ve ever heard it, it’s unlike him, given he usually has a more cheery tone.
“You have showed me what love truly feels like, what in feels like in here —” He said, putting a hand to his heart, “That being said, would you make me the happiest man in Hell and be my lawfully wedded spouse?”
You and Alastor have a wedding almost immediately, thanks to his magic staff.
The ceremony is like any other, other than the fact your soon-to-be husband has a massive fucking grin on his face that did not falter the whole time, other than when you came down the isle, and it seemed to inch up his face more.
When it came to the kiss, he does turn you both around as he does not enjoy displaying affection infront of others, but he also won’t break tradition, so…
The reception is nowhere near boring, he knows how to have a good time, there’s excitable jazz music that has a good chunk of guests swaying and moving their feet
He also may or may not freak out some family members of yours…but that’s okay!
He also does not wish to be in wedding photos, due to his opinions on modern cameras and tech, but will for you, and either way, he knows his grin fucks up the photos in contrast to your beauty so he doesn’t really see the point tbh — but he’ll most likely make you guys use an old camera for effect
Tumblr media
Husk Proposal + Wedding
Headcanons
Husk genuinely did not care to get married, well, he would be fine if you did, but he was content the way you both were, but he knew how much of a romantic you were so…
Quite frankly, he probably had the laziest proposal out of everyone I’ve written for for this, while you guys were laying in bed, bitch asked you if you would ever wanna get married and proceeded to basically chuck the ring box at you.
You and Husk were in your shared bed. It was late, you were just about to doze off for the night, until you heard Husk’s gruff voice pipe up.
“I have a question for ya.” He said, staring at the ceiling with you on his furry chest. “And that is?” you ask, popping your head up in curiosity,
“Would you ever wanna get married?” He asked, looking down at you, a soft and subtle smirked played on his lips. “Oh!- Uh, probably!” You answered, a bit thrown off by the question.
“‘Kay, great.” Husk muttered, plopping the ring box in between you two. “Husk, what the fu-”
Yeah before you could finish he was already asleep 😛
Husk mainly leaves wedding planning to you, not cause he’s a dick, but it’s just not his thing, he will help out when need be though
At the ceremony, Husk is holding back a couple tears, only a few though!
He never saw himself as the sentimental type, and he knows he didn’t really have the desire to do this in the first place, but now? He knows he made the right choice, even if it was at 2 in the morning.
The reception is chill, it’s kinda just sitting around and chatting, and yes there’s a bar, and Husk is pissed he can’t work it.
There’s chill jazz music in the back, but it’s not like Alastor’s where it had people swaying, it was more soothing, and it wasn’t like Adam’s where people were absolutely bopping to music either
You guys still don’t know if you’re having a honeymoon, Husk is still way too tired and way too hungover to make that decision.

MER-LOVE, 1.1 ft. reo, isagi, bachira, chigiri, nagi
Tumblr media
REQUEST: “Hi hi!! I decided to take you up on your offer and request a part two to the Mer-love fic. This time can you add in reo and what would they do if researcher!reader brought someone along with them, like a co-worker and they think it’s reader’s partner?”
NOTES: jealousy hcs are always fun to write, thanks for requesting!! also to the people not interested in this au, don’t worry i’ll be posting other stuff soon anyway. i just want to get people’s requests finished & completed before i start writing my own ideas again <3
mer-love! masterlist here!
Tumblr media
on occasion, you see REO coming to drag nagi off your boat if he overstays his welcome there, or if he thinks the lazy bastard needs a swim break before he dries out in the sun. you don’t mind him, he’s very polite and as a first impression; you would say he’s a solid guy. the type you can rely on.
the merman initially presents himself as the epitome of confidence and elegance, but as you get to know him better, his playful and more down-to-earth nature shines through. while there’s not necessarily a huge gap between the two, he definitely felt like he was trying to keep up appearances as the former personality. you suppose it’s a good thing he came out of his shell, because he visits you a lot nowadays! sometimes, you think even a bit too often. he usually comes with a multitude of gifts in his arms: stuff like pearls and any other valuable treasures from the ocean depths, etc.
like isagi, he willingly engages in conversation and shows a genuine interest in your research (particularly the financial aspects…) so that’s definitely a plus. it’s very sweet of him regardless, so being a charmer must just be part of his personality.
as the days pass, your boat becomes a second home for not just one, but two mermen—reo and the ever-present nagi, albeit with varying levels of enthusiasm for most things. their banter is oddly nostalgic, it’s like your back at the lab, chatting with the colleagues who don’t piss you off (it gets a bit lonely without the mermaids to talk to).
unbeknownst to you however, during those quiet moments when nagi drifts off to sleep and the conversation wanes, reo's attention shifts to you. as he observes your funny mannerisms and habits, he can't help but find them endearing. from your animated hand gestures, to the way you absentmindedly twirl a strand of hair, every detail captures his attention and leaves him quite captivated.
all in all, reo’s quite the sweetheart once you’re closer to him! let’s hope it’ll last.
Tumblr media
i imagine that you’d bring someone who you’d trust to keep this a secret from the higher ups, as well as a close friend of yours. so, what you consider innocent gestures like leaning over their shoulder, sitting together while eating, look quite misleading from a mermaid’s perspective. (especially if their love language was physical touch/in mermaid society or whatever, you’re only doing those types of things with your lover…)
REO would be mortified at the sight of them. who is this person? why the hell did they come along with you? why are you talking to them?? please (and i stress this) don’t tease him by saying, “oh, haha, they’re my s/o” as a joke, he would actually rather die. unlike the others, he seems openly irritated with your friend’s presence and isn’t scared to voice it. to the point your colleague is like ‘wtf did you tell this guy about me’.
ISAGI is the most ‘normal’, rationalising that they’re probably just a coworker that you know. he’d only get antsy if your partner decides to get a little too close to you. even as chill and unassuming as he may be, isagi’s still got a pretty nasty ego on him. may or may not curse your coworker’s entire generation for the rest of eternity.
BACHIRA would be friendly at first, acting all smiles and being his usual chatty self. but if your coworker decides to try anything the merman deems too…unprofessional, they’ve got another thing coming for them. he’ll snap at their fingers, or tear them off. jk, but he wouldn’t be thrilled by it for sure. kinda just sits on a rock, lost in his own thoughts for a while.
CHIGIRI would pretend not to care at first, but it’s obvious by the glares he throws their way and the way his sarcasm seems to triple when talking to them that he doesn’t like them. seriously, why this person? he simply tries to get your attention on him at first, until that doesn’t work and he decides to ‘accidentally’ chuck water onto their face.
NAGI couldn’t care less at first, key word: at first. but then you’re paying them more attention that you do him and his brain subconsciously makes up excuses to why he doesn’t like them, granted some of these could be plausible but others are just straight up mean. their voice is so grating he can’t sleep, their figure is blocking the sunlight shining on him, among other things. get them off your boat. now >:(

enemies to lovers kind of? with ethan landry pretty pls 🙏🏻 like reader thinks he’s ghost face basically how mindy treated ethan haha but they end up kissing 😱
THE GREAT WAR | E. LANDRY
summary: mindy always told you never to trust anyone. that’s exactly what you did, as soon as ethan joined the friend group you couldn’t trust him.
warnings: mentions of gf, just normal movie stuff
Tumblr media
you always had your suspicions about ethan. i mean come on it’s a classic horror movie. the nerdy, socially awkward and let’s be honest female reject, is always the killer.
you kept your distance from him at all times. the only reason you even shared the a room with him was because your friends didn’t believe it. you almost felt rude for the way you would brush him off, silence him and walk away. you didn’t want to be emotionally attached to the wrong person.
mindy always shared her theories to you, her rules in scary movies and surprisingly it intrigued you. you learned never to trust the love interest, not even your closest friends.
your head stays titled down at your book. the breeze gently blowing your hair around. it was sunny out, almost too hot and the breeze blowed perfectly along your shoulders.
the suns glaze on you suddenly stopped as a shadow formed. halting the page of the book you were on you looked up to see mr ghostface himself.
“can i help you?”
you weren’t a rude person, you were just confrontational, you didn’t let people get past you without being truthful. you stared into his soft brown eyes feeling tension lift out of your body.
“no- uh sorry just wanted to talk.”
“well, i’m not interested,” you walk away clutching your book. maybe it was a little harsh but you had a bad feeling about the guy. it always seemed as if he was just lurking around.
Tumblr media
walking into your shared apartment you’re greeted by tara and sam.
“hey y/n! we accidentally forgot to tell you ethan was here.”
you rolled your eyes you knew exactly what the two were going. they started a mission to get you and ethan to become friends for weeks.
“well, don’t worry i’ll be in my room.”
“y/n, we know you don’t trust ethan but you got to try and socialize with him. he’s miserable knowing you hate him.”
grabbing sams shoulder you looked her in the eyes, “i don’t hate him. i just don’t trust him, it’s different!”
“please just hang out with us!! he’s super cute, you guys would look good together.”
“if i hang out with you guys will you shut up?”
the both nod excitedly as you walk over to where the rest of them are.
“y/n, what’s up? i haven’t seen you in so long,” chad exaggerated pulling you into a hug.
“hey guys!”
you catch ethans eyes drifting over to you as he smiles. a slight smiles forms as you begin to talk to the others.
you watch as ethan keeps finding his eyes back on you. nervous to talk to you after your earlier conversation.
the chatter starts to die down as they begin to leave. the only two left were you and ethan, sitting there more awkward then ever.
“hey, um ethan. i’m sorry about how i treat you, it’s just i don’t want anymore of my friends hurt. wes and i were really closer and it’s just hard to trust people.”
he nods, “it’s okay. i probably wouldn’t trust myself either.”
you snort at his awkward humor, “friends?”
“friends.”
“well, i’ll walk you out!”
ethan picks up his phone, coat and keys walking to the door.
“one more thing ethan.”
“yea-”
before he finished you smashed your lips together.

A/N: A self indulgent blurb bc I don't feel good and wish this was a reality hahah 😭💕
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 805
Warnings: Swearing
“I have a cough, are you sure you still want me to come over?” I asked Saul over the phone as I sat on my couch.
“It’s probably just your smokers' hack.” He replied.
“Tell her if she doesn’t get here soon we’re gonna start the movie without her!” I heard Duff yell in the background.
“You heard the man.” Saul said.
“Fine.” I grumbled, “I’ll be there soon.”
“See ya fucker.” Saul hung up.
I rolled my eyes and got up putting a jacket on. I drove to Saul’s and entered without knocking.
“Look who finally decided to show up.” Duff said as I entered the living room.
“Shut up McKagan.” I said plopping down on the couch.
“You know what I love best about you? Your cheery disposition.” Duff grinned.
“Haha.” I said dryly and flipped him off. “What are we watching?” I asked, turning my attention to Saul who walked in with some popcorn.
“I rented Labyrinth.” He smiled. I grinned back at him as he sat next to me. I’ve known Saul for a couple years, we used to be neighbors in an apartment building, and kept in contact after he moved. I have the biggest crush on him, but I’m content just being his friend.
The movie started and I wanted to melt into his side like normal but my throat kept tickling and I had to cough every few minutes.
“Jesus.” Duff huffed.
“I warned Saul.” I said.
Duff and I were best frenemies. He’s the sweetest guy but we love to push each other's buttons.
About half way through the movie I got up to use the restroom.
“Want me to pause it?” Saul asked.
“Nah, I've already seen it a bunch of times.” I replied.
When I came out of the bathroom the movie was paused.
“Fuck me gently with a chainsaw.” I grumbled.
Duff threw his head back with a laugh.
“What’s wrong?” Saul asked.
“I just started my period, I’m pretty sure I have a cold, and look at the dark bags under my eyes, I’m pretty sure they have their own goddamn zip code.” I said pointing to my eyes.
“You do look like you got dragged to hell by a semi-truck.” Duff said laughing. I flipped him off and he raised his hands, “sorry. I’ll leave you be.” He continued laughing as he left.
“Go lay in my bed and I’ll bring you some soup.” Saul said.
“No it’s okay, I should probably go home.” I said, grabbing my jacket. Saul caught my elbow.
“I wasn’t asking. Go lay down.” He said again. My heart melted a little, as did my resolve to leave.
“Thank you.” I said and made my way to his room. I found some of his clothes changing into them then cocooned myself in his blankets.
Saul came in a short while later with a bowl. I sat up and he handed it to me.
“Thank you.” I smiled softly. He sat next to me as I sipped on the soup. He reached out, putting his hand on my forehead.
“You feel warm. When you finish the soup you should sleep.” He stated.
“Are you sure I can stay here? I don't mind driving home.” I said.
“If you go home, who is going to take care of you?” He asked.
“Me.” I replied. He shook his head.
“That won’t do.” He said.
“But what if you get sick?” I asked him softly.
“Then you can take care of me.” He smiled.
“You’d love it if I played nurse, huh?” I teased with a small laugh that triggered a cough. He took the soup from my hands so I didn’t spill. When I regained my breath he brought the spoon to my mouth.
“You’re right, I would love it if you were my nurse.” He grinned and continued feeding me the soup. My cheeks were heated and it wasn’t the fever. When I finished the soup Saul left to take the bowl to the kitchen.
I laid back down feeling more tired than I had realized.
Saul came back to his room and I heard him shuffling about until the bed dipped and I felt him get under the covers. He scooted over until he was right behind me. He wrapped a strong arm around me pulling me into him. We cuddled on a couch during movies. This is new though.
“Are you comfortable?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I replied softly.
“Good. Now get some sleep, okay?” He said and nuzzled his head on top of mine.
I thought my heart would have been trying to beat out of my chest but all I felt was peace and safety. My last thought before drifting off was that I don’t think Saul and I will be just friends for much longer.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to request or chat :)

The Great War | Neteyam x Omatikaya!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Neteyam were childhood friends, always looking out for each other, but when the Sky People returned, neither of you could have anticipated the way it would affect your relationship with one another.
A/N: This is my first fic in a hot minute, so I got a little carried away. Part one of probably three, but we’ll see haha. I’ll be posting this to my AO3 account as well under Witbeyondmeasure501. Also, yes, I had this T.S. song playing on repeat as I was writing this.
7.9k words
Pairing: Neteyam x Omatikaya!reader
Warnings: Canon-typical violence, mentions of death, angst.
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
War can stain the most beautiful things.
Not only does it burn your home, take away your loved ones, or drain your health, it casts its shadow over every happiness you have, even when you aren't always able to see it. It was naive of you to think that your relationship with Neteyam would be any different, that it would be unaffected by the weight of the war.
Both of you being young and ambitious, you were enlisted by his father to be aerial scouts, a job that was relatively safe but still helpful. You and Neteyam were proud of each other for doing something useful, and you were grateful to have each other in the field.
As time wore on, things got riskier. You would both come back with more cuts and bruises than before, but the time you spent tending to each other's wounds definitely made up for it. In fact, sitting together and applying healing balm to your injuries as you exchanged jokes and stories helped you both forget the dangers waiting beyond the entrance of the village.
The strain had started out subtly. When the two of you were 15, during one of the raids, Lo'ak had convinced Neteyam to join the ground troops in plundering the Sky People's train full of weapons, and in the process, the older Sully boy was injured and had to be rescued by his father, who proceeded to reprimand him as soon as they landed safely in the village. You watched him walk to a healing tent with injuries to both his torso and his pride and ran over to walk with him.
"It's not your fault," you told him as you came up to his side. "Lo'ak was being a skxawng, you should not have gotten in trouble for him." Neteyam sighed in irritation. "Not now, please," he said curtly. He was holding his injured side with his hand, and it seemed to pain him to climb over the higher parts of the cave floor. You lept up to the ledge in front of him, turned around, and offered your hand to help him up. "I am fine," he said and ignored your hand, opting to pull himself up instead and grunting in pain.
You rolled your eyes at him. Normally, he was very rational and composed, but if there was one thing that put him in a bad mood, it was being reprimanded by his father. You knew that the pressure of being the oldest son to Olo'eyktan weighed on him constantly, and the war didn't make anything easier for him. Still, you didn't appreciate his attitude towards you when you did nothing wrong, especially because you weren't quite used to it from him.
Time wore on, and so did the war. Once, when you were about a year older, you had been grazed by a bullet on your side. It was nothing serious, a flesh wound that you could take care of yourself, so you decided not to say anything, but when you all returned, Neteyam noticed. He always noticed.
"What is this?" he asked, moving your arm out of the way to get a better look at the graze that was slowly oozing blood. "Nothing serious," you responded quietly, looking around to make sure he didn't attract any attention to you. Neteyam looked at you with a hard stare. "You were shot," he stated matter-of-factly. "You need to go to my grandmother or Kiri."
You shook your head in protest. "There are others who need their attention more than I do," you explained. "I can take care of this myself." He held his stern gaze, but you knew his rational brain would agree with you that there were more serious injuries for the healers to care for. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he took you by the arm and muttered, "Come on."
You protested weakly before realizing that he was taking you back to his personal tent. Once inside, you sat down as he pulled out some salve and cloth he had stashed away. In the time since the Sky People had returned, you had both become proficient at mending wounds. Without saying anything, he lifted your arm and rested it on his shoulder so that he could begin cleaning your wound unencumbered by it.
Under your hand, you could feel the tension in his shoulder muscles. You studied his face as he worked in silence. At the first touch he made to your graze, you tensed and hissed in pain. "Sorry," he muttered, carefully working to clean it with a damp cloth. "It's fine," you responded in a strained voice. Silence settled over you again as he attended to you.
Usually, he would try to ease your discomfort by talking or trying to crack a joke, but this time he worked in silence. It made you a little uneasy, so you tried to lighten the mood. "If you think this is bad, you should have seen the other guy," you told him with a small smile.
No response.
He continued working in the salve with focused attention. Though you knew he was being as gentle as possible, you couldn't help but grimace in pain and tighten your grip on his shoulder. He stopped working for a moment to give you some reprieve, glancing at your face to make sure you were alright before continuing his job.
"It is not that serious," you whispered, desperate to break the silence that was now making you feel nervous. To that, there was a small response in the form of a scoff, but Neteyam's face remained stone cold as he reached for a cloth to bandage you with.
Watching him, you could see the effects of the war on his face. Across his cheeks and forehead were faint scars from the action he had seen. Even his expressions had changed to a much more serious look. It used to be almost effortless to make him smile, but recently, it was something you didn't see very often. Even in your current circumstance, he would've at least said something back, but his silence indicated to you that he had something pressing on his mind.
You tried again. "You know, next time maybe I will just go to Kiri," you said teasingly. "She and I have much better conversation than y-”
"You could have been killed," Neteyam snapped finally, cutting you off.
"What?" You replied in confusion. It wasn't that you didn't know you could have been killed; that was obvious. It was his tone of voice that caught you off-guard. He had never snapped at you like that before.
"You could have been killed," he repeated in an angry voice. He pointed at the graze on your side and then moved his finger a few inches over to the center of your stomach. "A few degrees over and you would be dead." You sighed, regaining your composure after being caught off-guard by his tone. "I am aware," you told him calmly, "but, as you can see, I am not dead." He wasn't amused.
"I am being serious," he said gravely. "You are lucky to be alive." You were starting to get annoyed. "So are you," you shot back. "So are all of us every day we return home because every day we go out and fight is a risk, a big risk." He stared at you with hard eyes but said nothing. You took a breath to try and calm yourself. You didn't want to fight with him.
With your hand still resting on his shoulder, you gave him a gentle squeeze and rubbed your thumb along the side of his neck. "I take my chances, and so do you," you told him. "But that is what we do to keep the People safe." His gaze finally softened, and he sighed and shook his head. After a beat, he whispered, "This was too close."
You couldn't help but give a small smile at him. He was being protective, and you couldn't fault him for being stressed about the war. You felt fortunate that neither Neteyam nor yourself had been injured too badly in the war, but you couldn't deny that this was a close one.
It wasn't the last close one either.
As you both got older, you were given more responsibilities with the war. In being closer to the action, you both saw more blood stain your lives. You still continued to patch each other up when necessary, but after what was said when he helped you with your bullet graze, neither of you could really bring yourselves to smile much after those missions.
Over the course of time since you had been involved in the war, your relationship with Neteyam had undergone a serious shift. Before, you were both bright-eyed and happy, enjoying your days running around together with your friends and his siblings. It was easy to be around him, to be open with each other.
You used to listen to him talk about his father, once a sojourner from the stars and now the leader of the Omatikaya. You knew how the responsibility of being the oldest son to Olo'eyktan rested heavily on his shoulders. He used to listen to you complain everytime you got in trouble for being out too late. The first day after he had bonded with his ikran, he had taken you flying above the forest.
After years of being at war, the gaiety in your relationship had eroded. Conversations about the stars turned to war strategies. The physical touch that used to be so casual and thoughtless went from playful pushes and hugs to careful and deliberate tending of wounds. Your words evolved from friendly challenges and jokes to variations of the words "Be safe."
The care you had for each other never wavered; on the contrary, in fact, it strengthened. However, you were both becoming hardened versions of your previous selves, and it made it difficult on your friendship. With every mission, your former carefree self fractured off.
Of course, the biggest shift occurred when your mother died.
She was in a hunting party when you were 17, just on the verge of becoming a fully realized member of the clan. She was an excellent hunter, possessing more patience than you ever could. She and the others in the party had gone just to the edge of what was considered the safe zone. Since the clan's migration into the mountains, it was difficult for the Sky People to attack them directly, but Jake had set a perimeter for their safety.
That day, there had been a troop of Sky People in large mecha-suits placing heavy explosives around the area to level the ground to start building a new station for their soldiers. Many members of the party decided to engage with the Sky People, but they didn't realize that they would be quickly outnumbered by the human soldiers and their machines.
You weren't there in the hunting party that day. You were sitting just inside the entrance of the village campsite when the two survivors of the party returned covered in blood. You recognized Kana and T'seyet as they slid off their pa'li. You knew that your mother had been with them.
Your blood ran cold. The two Na'vi were rushed to the healing tent, but not before they confirmed that the rest of the hunting party had been killed.
You felt like your spirit had been pulled from your body. It took a few moments for you to do anything. Lo'ak and your friend Ehlaya were standing not far from you and were by your side in a moment, but you didn't register their presence until Lo'ak touched your arm. You turned towards him in a daze, your eyes wide and uncomprehending. "My friend," Ehlaya said softly in a horrified tone, "I am so sorry."
You looked at her distraught face and that suspended moment of silence came crashing down as a wail rose out from your mouth. Your vision blurred, and your knees gave out. Lo'ak managed to catch you before you toppled to the ground, but grief poured over your body like ice water. You couldn't hear your friends' words. You couldn't hear your own anguished cries nor the cries of the families of the other slain Na'vi.
You couldn't see that Neteyam had arrived and was crouching before you. You couldn't feel him as he held you tightly to his chest. You just felt grief. Overwhelming grief.
After that day, you were different. Your tone was harsher and your temper shorter. Neteyam, blessed with an abundance of patience and empathy, never left your side through the worst of it. Even when you felt cross with him, he never held it against you, even when it would have been fair for him to do so.
Not long afterward, Neteyam completed the Uniltaron trial and was inducted as a fully mature and realized member of the Omatikaya. His bravery and skill in combat had proven his worth as a warrior of the People. The ceremony honoring his coming-of-age had been one of the first times you had genuinely smiled since the loss of your mother. You watched with pride as he was blessed by the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik.
Now that he was of age, whispers began spreading about Neteyam choosing a mate. His skill as a warrior, his status as the son of Toruk Makto, and his devastating good looks made him desirable to many of the young Na'vi women in the clan. At first, you were amused, especially when his siblings brought it up to tease him. After a while, though, the topic lost its humor as people continued to speculate over whom he would choose.
Deep down, you had always had a faint hope that he and you would be together when you were grown. You never let yourself think about it too much when you were younger, but now that you were older, you realized that the pool of eligible women in the village vying for his attention was a lot larger than it had originally seemed.
To make matters worse, you now thought about it every time you saw him speak with a woman. There were many capable hunters, formidable warriors, and talented healers all around him, and the whole subject left a bitter taste in your mouth.
You began flying in missions again a month after your mother's death. The action and adrenaline gave you a much-needed distraction from the clan gossip. After one mission, when Neteyam came back with a gash on his shoulder, you watched as one of the young healers offered to dress it. You felt a stab of jealousy when he graciously accepted her offer and followed her into one of the tents.
You knew you were being ridiculous, but it still stung when you thought about how it was usually you he went to for such things. You also knew it was ridiculous to think that you were the only woman he would look at. It didn't make you feel any better, though.
With Neteyam being a fully-fledged member of the clan, you started seeing him less. He had become more involved with the war and acted as his father's right hand. You felt him pull away from you bit by bit every day, and you didn't know how to stop it. When you wanted to talk, he was always busy. He was never with his family except late at night before they all went to bed. You spent some time with him briefly during meals or on the occasional hunting party, but his mind seemed preoccupied with other things.
Despite the bleak circumstances, you grew excited for the day you would be able to complete your own Uniltaron trial. You knew it was dangerous, but you felt prepared. A few weeks before your trial, Jake called you and other Omatikaya together, including Neteyam. There were many warriors gathered together sitting around their leader, and you joined next to your friend.
"Listen," the Olo'eyktan began, "we've been getting our asses handed to us out there trying to take out that base." The base in question was the one constructed where your mother had been killed. Your clan had made numerous attacks on it since it was so close to the border, but every time, the Sky People were prepared, as if they knew you were coming. It had led to a lot of bloodshed.
"Now, our enemies know when we're coming," he continued. "I'm thinking they have constant movement sensors or thermal imaging that lets them know we're coming. So, here's the plan."
The plan was simple enough but extremely risky. To avoid being caught on the movement sensors, you and Neteyam would take your ikran only partway to the base where Jake estimated you would still be outside the range of the motion detectors. Then, armed with electromagnetic devices you had stolen in a previous raid, the two of you would covertly place them in a perimeter around the base. Once activated, the field would jam the motion-detecting radar as well as interfere with any thermal imaging.
In addition to setting up the jamming devices, you would also rig explosives near every entrance so that when the Sky People came out to fight, the first wave would be taken out. Once everything was set in place, Neteyam would signal his father with their throat comms, and the rest of the party would fly out and attack.
"Why only two of us?" Neteyam asked when his father had finished his initial explanation. "Why not more of us to set up everything?" Jake nodded his approval at the question. "We can't risk getting picked up by those detectors. I figure if there's only two of you, if they see anything, they'll just assume you're animals. However, it is of utmost importance that you remain as subtle as possible, and do not engage with the Sky People until backup has arrived."
You nodded your understanding at him. You could see why he chose the two of you. Even though your clan knew how to hide amongst the trees, you had proven exceptionally stealthy, even by Omatikaya standards. There was no one in the clan who could find you if you didn't want to be found. Neteyam was the same way, so it made sense that Jake chose you for this role in the mission.
After being dismissed, you stood by the entrance of the war tent waiting for Neteyam to emerge. He often stayed behind to speak with his father after such meetings. Even now, you could hear their voices, and you would have never thought to eavesdrop on them until you heard your name.
With your ears perked up, you couldn't help but lean toward the tent to understand what was being said inside.
"I do not believe she is fit for this mission," you heard Neteyam say. "She has not yet completed Uniltaron, this mission should be for warriors." Your stomach dropped at his words. How could he say such a thing? He wasn't wrong about you not being a fully mature member of the clan, but you had gone on countless missions before, and this was hardly any different.
"Listen, son," Jake countered, "I know you're worried for her, but I'm confident in her ability to help execute this plan. Besides, she has her Uniltaron trial coming up very soon. She is very capable of doing this." Even though you were hurt by Neteyam's words, the vote of confidence from the Olo'eyktan warmed your chest.
Neteyam didn't give up so easily. "Why not just send me and Lo'ak instead, if warrior status doesn't matter?" To that, you were personally offended. Not only were you much stealthier than Lo'ak, but you could actually follow orders when they were given.
"Nice try," Jake said, "but I need someone out there who I know isn't gonna screw around and start fighting before it's time." Vindication.
"She doesn't have the necessary battle experience," Neteyam argued further. "She will be-"
"Enough. My mind is made up. Don't push this anymore." Jake's voice had a hard edge to it that made talking back next to impossible.
"Yes, sir," Neteyam replied obediently, though you could still hear the frustration he was trying to suppress. After a moment of silence, Jake said, "You're dismissed."
You stepped away from the tent before Neteyam could walk out on you listening. Besides, you didn't want to talk to him anymore. You were too hurt and angry at him for trying to get you off the mission to speak to him. You knew if he saw you, you wouldn't be able to pretend like nothing was wrong, and he would eventually figure out that you spied on him and his father.
His words echoed in your head. I do not believe she is fit for this mission. How many times had you flown together into the face of peril? Neither of you could keep track of the number of times you had spent listening in battle meetings, sitting in medical tents after a fight, or exchanging quick words before flying off to let the other know you wished them luck. You thought he saw you as an equal.
Your anger hadn't subsided the next day as you prepared for the mission that night. Avoiding Neteyam took special skill when you were both preparing for a special mission together.
The day passed slowly, but finally, you and the rest of the war party were preparing to leave. Unfortunately, you weren't able to avoid Neteyam anymore, and he came up to you as you were strapping your bow to your ikran, Kazi. Still upset, you gave him a wordless glance before continuing to secure your saddle.
"Nervous?" he asked, noticing your lack of eye contact.
"No," you answered flatly. "I have flown many missions before. This isn't any different." He watched you quietly for a moment. "This is different," he said. "You have never had to be so close to the fighting." You scoffed. "I am capable of handling myself, and thank you for having so much confidence in me," you answered, your words dripping with sarcasm. You knew you would be bad at hiding your anger.
Neteyam noticed your sharp tone and pointed words because he always noticed when something was up with you. "I am confident in you," he defended, confusion crossing his face. "Why would I doubt you?" You clenched your jaw briefly before replying shortly, "You tell me."
"What does that mean?"
You stared up at his face in irritation. He held your gaze, and you could see he was trying to figure out what was upsetting you, so you looked away in hopes that he would drop it. "Nothing," you mumbled, checking the straps on your saddle again for no reason other than to avoid looking at him.
Neteyam grabbed your shoulder firmly and turned you to face him. He looked at you closely, and you could see that a thought had occurred to him. "Did you-" he didn't need to finish the question, you knew what he was asking, and the fact that you knew what he was asking clearly made you guilty. Did you spy on me? You looked away, embarrassed but still upset.
Reading the answer to his unfinished question on your face, he stepped back and took a deep breath in exasperation, running a hand down his face as he fought to stay composed. After a tense pause, he looked down at you, appearing just as frustrated as you felt. "I don't even know where to start with you," he said finally.
Even though you felt bad about eavesdropping on his conversation with his father (and even worse at being caught), you weren't about to apologize when you still felt the sting of his words from the previous night. "It doesn't matter," you told him mutely, "and it doesn't change the fact that I am coming on this mission."
He closed his eyes for a few seconds, a sure sign that he was checking his temper. You hated seeing him like this. It used to be that you could count on one hand the number of times Neteyam came even remotely close to being annoyed with you. Now, it felt like every other time you spoke together, you had some sort of verbal spar.
"I did not mean to insult you," he said in a low voice. "And I am confident in your abilities. I just-" he paused, searching for the right thing to say. "I don't want to see you hurt."
You felt a bit of guilt creep over you, replacing some of your irritation. You couldn't blame him for being concerned. You were worried for him every day he left the entrance of the cave. You knew deep down that all these negative feelings you were both experiencing in your friendship lately were rooted in how much you both cared for each other. When you thought about it like that, it was hard to stay mad at him.
He placed a hand on your shoulder, his touch a comforting feeling you had missed. You looked up at him, this time without any hostility on your face, and he looked at you softly. It was nice, this moment of peace between you two. Then, in a quiet voice, he said, "Please stay back. I can do it alone."
Two sentences and that brief peace was shattered, and your animosity immediately returned. You huffed in exasperation and knocked his hand off of your shoulder. Before either of you could say anything else, Jake's voice called out to the war party, "Let's get mounted, we move out in two minutes."
Shooting one last angry look at Neteyam, you swung up to mount Kazi and attached your queue to hers. She hissed and beat her wings a few times in response to feeling your own agitation, making Neteyam take a few steps back. You patted Kazi a few times to soothe her, not looking down at the warrior. He stood there for a moment in hesitation. This was usually the time when you would tell each other to be careful. You had never flown a mission without wishing each other's safety beforehand.
Finally, he came up to your side and placed his hand on your thigh. You tensed slightly under his touch but didn't try and shake it off. He looked up at you from the ground, and you could see the mix of emotions on his face. "Be safe," he said quietly, and you could really feel how earnestly he meant it.
You should swallow your pride, just let go of your bitterness and say it back. You wanted to, but you were also too stubborn to forget that he wanted you off of this mission. So, instead of reciprocating the wish, you just mumbled, "I will."
You didn't look at him, knowing that seeing the expression on his face would just make you feel worse than you already did. You felt his hand slide off of your leg, and you watched him out of your peripheral vision as he mounted his own ikran beside his father.
In the cover of the night, you and the other warriors flew in silence. You couldn't help but think of the way you left Neteyam. You kicked yourself mentally for not saying it back. You decided when you landed at the halfway point, you would try and make things right with him.
It didn't take long before Jake started flying down toward the canopy of trees. You all followed suit and descended as well. You gave Kazi a few pats when she landed, and through your bond, you implored her to stay with the rest of the ikran. It wasn't so much that you thought the words for her to understand, but it was more like you just wished for her to stay, and she could understand.
You dismounted and zeroed in on Neteyam's lean form illuminated by the glow of the plants around you. Taking a deep breath to reassure yourself, you came up to him as he stepped off of his own ikran. "Neteyam," you said quietly, "I did not mean-"
"All right, you two," Jake interrupted, approaching you and his son. "You know your orders. Stay low, and stay out of trouble. Keep radio contact to a minimum."
"Yes, sir," you both said in unison.
Jake nodded in dismissal. You returned to Kazi and grabbed the sack full of jammers, strapping it securely to your person. You checked that your knives, one on your thigh and the other across your stomach, were securely in place. You held your bow and grabbed as many arrows as you could hold. Giving your ikran one last comforting pat, you turned back to Neteyam.
He was speaking to Jake in a low voice, and your stomach tightened in fear of him revealing that you listened in on their conversation from the previous night. However, you realized this wasn't the case when Jake grabbed his son by the back of his head affectionately and pulled him close so that their foreheads touched. You could remember a time when Jake would have had to stoop to do so, but now the two warriors stood at eye level with each other.
Pulling away, your leader gave a swift nod, and you and Neteyam made your way toward the base on foot. He set a brisk pace that you had to match in order to keep up. The silence between you two was thick and charged with negative feelings. You felt the guilt gnawing at your heart from what you had said, or rather, hadn't said before.
Remembering your resolution to apologize, you figured if you didn't say something now, it would be too late to say anything at all. Once you were well out of view from the rest of the party, you slowed down. "Neteyam," you called out softly. He stopped moving and looked back at you in concern. He was clearly in mission mode and thought something was wrong.
You held up a hand to assuage his concerns. "About earlier," you began uncomfortably. You hated apologizing, and you weren't very good at it. "I should not have listened in on you and your father last night. It was wrong." Neteyam said nothing, and his face stared at you passively. Taking a breath, you steeled yourself before saying, "I'm sorry."
Your apology hung in the air for a moment, and in that time, you had the dreadful thought that he would just turn around and keep moving through the forest.
Finally, he gave a large sigh that let out some of the tension in his broad shoulders. He was a better person than you in that he would always opt for peace over furthering an argument, and he knew how difficult it was for you to apologize to anyone.
"What is this between us?" He muttered questioningly, gesturing loosely between himself and you. "Why is there this anger and bitterness?" He sounded drained and insecure, two attributes that vastly contradicted who he was most of the time. You looked at the ground, ashamed of how you let your relationship deteriorate like this.
"I don't want to fight anymore," he said quietly, walking over to you. You looked up at him and realized just how close he was to you. You could count the individual glowing spots on his face.
"I don't want to fight anymore either," you responded in a whisper. "I'm sorry."
His amber eyes softened as they looked down on you. Dropping his bow, he lifted his arms at the elbow with his palms up, and, following suit, you placed your own forearms on top of his. The two of you stood there holding each other's arms in the dark for a second. It was the closest you had been in a long time.
"I'm sorry, too," he said after a moment. "I should not have said those things to my father." He traced his thumbs over your skin, causing your face to warm. "I'm just worried you will do something stupid like get hurt." This earned him a small smile from you, and it released much of the tension between you.
"When have I ever done something stupid?" You pretended to be offended. He smiled back at you softly. "Too many times to count," he murmured. You wanted to make a smart retort, but as you looked up at him, the way he was gazing back at you made your breathing falter. It was like he was trying to memorize your features, counting the tiny scars and glowing marks that were scattered across your face.
In the blink of an eye, he came back into focus, and you both remembered that you had a greater task at hand. Reluctantly, he pulled away from you and stooped to pick up his bow. Immediately, you missed his touch, but you nevertheless picked up your bow and set off with him through the trees.
You moved quickly through the forest, feeling a lot lighter without the weight of your remorse in your chest. As you got closer, you started moving slower to be more discreet. Creeping to the edge of the clearing, you both peered at the base illuminated by the artificial lights in the darkness. Your heart was pounding as you realized that this was the place where your mother died, and you needed to take a calming breath. Seeming to read your thoughts, Neteyam placed a comforting hand on your lower back.
Shaking yourself out of your thoughts, you set down your bow and arrows and reached into your pack to hand him two of the four jammers. Your orders had been that he would set up one on the north and west sides, and you would set up on the east and south sides.
He gave you a quick nod and moved to start setting them up, but you grabbed his arm and turned him to face you. "Be safe," you whisper as quietly as you could. He gave you a quick smile and replied, "I will."
Okay, you had that one coming.
"Don't do anything stupid," he whispered, causing you to roll your eyes playfully as he disappeared without another sound.
You moved slowly to ensure you didn't raise any alarm. Once you had set up your jammers, you returned to where you had set down your weapon. Neteyam was already waiting for you there. You sidled up to him, and when he noticed your return, he pressed his throat comm and whispered, "The perimeter is set, ready to move to phase two."
Phase two involved activating the jammers and setting up the explosives while the rest of the war party would fly in on their ikran now that the Sky People wouldn't be able to detect their presence.
After Neteyam paused briefly to listen to his father, he whispered, "Yes sir. Over and out." Activating the jammers meant that in addition to disrupting the sensors for the Sky People, it would also interfere with the communication with Jake and the others. Now, the plan was at its most vulnerable. If something went wrong here, there was no way for the two of you to alert the war party.
Neteyam pulled out the explosives from his own pack. He handed them wordlessly to you, and you both silently split up to set up the explosives at each entrance.
The base was relatively small, more of a depot really. It had a large operating unit that was connected by a long hall to the hangar. The hangar had two large bay doors that you knew contained several mecha-suits and other heavy machinery meant for war. In the operating unit, there were two doors on every side except for where the hall tunnel connected. The hangar had one regular door beside the bays and one on the opposite side. Spread across the clearing were several large metal crates that you suspected housed an assortment of weapons.
At each entrance, you placed one explosive and two on each bay door. They stuck to the doors, and you twisted the dial until you heard a click, indicating that they were set. When a human opened the door, the movement would trigger the explosion.
With everything set, all that was left to do was wait. You returned to where you set down your bow and arrows. Neteyam was there waiting, too. You were both crouched on a tree, your arms brushing with how close you were to each other.
Before long, the war party emerged over the trees on their ikran. You felt your heart pound as they approached, knowing that the peace of the night was about to be destroyed by their attack.
As they closed in, Jake and a few others threw grenades into the center of the clearing. They didn't do much damage, but that wasn't the point. Setting off the alarms and turning on the emergency lights was the point. And that's exactly what it did.
Shortly after the grenades went off, there were several large explosions at the doors of the base. The Sky People standing behind the doors had been obliterated. Smoke surrounded the base as the alarms kept blaring. As you had expected, more of the humans poured out of the blasted entrances, and the chaos of battle began.
Amidst the noise, you and Neteyam called out for your ikran. You saw Kazi circle in the air before descending to where you were hiding, but before she could land, one of the humans began firing at her. Screeching in pain, she pulled up and twisted away to avoid the gunshots.
Anger flared in your chest. You pulled back an arrow and let it fly. It made its home in the stomach of your target, but another human nearby had noticed his comrade being shot and looked at where you were crouching on the edge of the clearing. He turned his gun to you and started shooting. You and Neteyam ducked behind the trees just in time to avoid being injured.
You moved quickly behind the trees, the gunfire following after you. You paused behind a tree for safety, nocked another arrow onto your bow, and turned out to shoot the soldier, but when you did, he had already fallen with one of Neteyam's arrows sticking from his ribs.
More Sky People flooded out from the base. You saw Kazi land not far from where you were standing. Still holding an arrow on your bowstring, you ran out from the trees over to where she was waiting.
Several humans stood between you, but their attention was spread all over the place. You shot at one who was aiming at Kazi, and taking your knife from your stomach, you slashed it through the neck of the one closest to you. As you nearly reached your ikran, you saw a small object sail through the air and land between you. You barely had enough time to slow down before the grenade exploded, knocking you backward with its force. Screeching, Kazi flew up frantically away from the explosion.
Ears ringing, you pushed yourself up from the ground as quickly as you could and grabbed your bow. The human who threw the explosive was standing off to the side right between one of the metal crates and the building of the base. You saw as he raised his gun towards your ikran. Anger burned in you. Your mother died here in this clearing, and you would be damned if your ikran was killed here, too.
You pulled back your arrow. He was standing with his side to you, making him a tough target. You opted to shoot his gun instead, knocking it out of his hands before he could start shooting. He stood surprised for a moment as you ran towards him, pulling your second knife from your thigh. The soldier also pulled a knife from its sheath and crouched as you approached swiftly.
Once in arms reach, he sprang forward and swiped at your legs with his knife. You lept right, narrowly avoiding a gash on your thigh, and slashed your knife down at him. You managed to catch his arm, but it wasn't very deep. He reeled back in pain, scowling deeply at you. You scowled back and hissed at him.
He launched himself forward again at you. You tried dodging again, but this time he seemed to anticipate it. Swapping his knife to his other hand, he sliced at your waist, catching the side of your stomach and cutting deep enough that the blood immediately started dripping down your side. He came back at you with his knife, but you managed to parry with your own, and with your other hand, you ripped off the soldier's air mask.
Immediately, he was gasping for breath, and you were able to plunge your knife into his chest. As he dropped to the ground, you fell back against the metal crate behind you. You held your hand over your bleeding wound, wincing at the pain. It was a pretty bad cut, bad enough that you knew you should move away from the fight to bandage it to stop the bleeding.
You stepped away from the crate still clutching your side. Kazi wasn't too far from where you were standing, and the coast was clear for you to hustle over to her.
What you hadn't realized at the time was that not all of the doors had exploded in the first few moments of the battle. You didn't notice that you were standing next to one of those unopened doors. You couldn't hear the footsteps running towards the unopened door from inside. You barely registered what happened as you were thrown back off of your feet when the door exploded before your head slammed against the metal crate, and you passed out.
You weren't sure how long you were out when you came to again. The sounds of voices echoed above you, but it was hard to determine what was being said. You concentrated on bringing the noises into focus. You could discern a woman's voice calling your name above you.
"Mother?" You said weakly. You opened your bleary eyes and saw several faces hovering over yours. "No, child," one of the faces told you. You blinked several times, trying to pull them into focus. You finally made out Mo'at as the source of the voice speaking to you. The other faces above you belonged to Kiri and Neteyam, both full of concern.
You groaned in pain. Your head throbbed, and your side burned. "Do not move," Mo'at instructed sternly. Kiri pushed her brother's shoulder. "You should leave," she told him gently. Neteyam shook off her hand and shook his head. "I'm not going anywhere," he said resolutely.
You reached a hand up toward him. He took it immediately, and you were dimly aware of a warm substance on his hand that you learned later was your own blood.
"Wha- what happened?" you asked weakly. Instead of getting an answer, Kiri held up a smoking leaf and blew toward your face. Breathing in the sweet scent of the smoke, you felt the world become distorted, and you drifted out of consciousness again.
The second time you woke up wasn't so confusing. You blinked your eyes open and found that you were in one of the healing tents. Light was pouring in from the entrance, illuminating the inside of the tent.
You started to move, but a sharp pain in your abdomen caused you to gasp and lie still. From beside you, a figure you hadn't noticed sat up quickly.
"You are awake," Neteyam said groggily. He seemed to have fallen asleep against the side of the tent and was roused by your movement. "So are you," you responded, your voice sounding hoarse. "Have you been sleeping here?"
He shook his head a little. "I didn't mean to fall asleep," he admitted. You hummed. What remained of his war paint was smeared across his face, he still had some blood dried on his arms, and he was trying to blink the sleep out of his eyes. It was sort of comical.
"You look terrible," you told him. "You look worse," he retorted. That made you smile. "How do you feel?" Your hand went to your head. It was still aching, but not as bad as before. Your cut on your abdomen radiated with pain even though you weren't moving. "I've been better," you admitted with a grimace. "What happened?"
Neteyam moved over to you and crossed his legs as he sat. "I'm not sure," he muttered. "One moment, I see you fighting a human, the next, you were nowhere to be seen." He wasn't looking at you as he spoke, his eyes fixed on a spot far away. "When my ikran found me," he continued, "I looked for you and found you bleeding and unconscious." His jaw tensed at the memory. "Your ikran was standing over you, protecting you. She barely let me get to you."
You smiled softly, your love for Kazi warming your chest. "Is she okay?" You asked. He nodded. "She took some bullets to her wings, but she'll be okay," he answered. You were relieved.
"When I got to you," he continued, "you were bleeding very badly. For a moment, I thought-" his voice faltered, and he closed his eyes to regain his composure. Your chest tightened. You reached your hand out and grabbed his arm comfortingly. He placed his own hand on top of yours and sighed.
"I picked you up and took you back here," he said finally. "My grandmother and Kiri worked for a long time to patch you up." You had a flashback of Mo'at's face hovering over your own with Kiri helping next to her.
You lay in silence for a moment. Neteyam was still staring off into the distance, thinking about the events of the night before. You could feel his thumb rubbing gently across the top of your hand. Finally, he let out a sigh and looked at you. "I told you not to do anything stupid," he whispered, his voice tight with emotion.
You swallowed thickly. It was hard to see him emotional when he was always so composed and rational. "I know," you told him quietly. "I didn't mean to scare you." He managed to give you a sad smile and ran his hand over your forehead.
"I should get my grandmother," he said at last, moving to stand up, but you held onto his arm. He looked at you questioningly. You gave him a wry smile. "You seem tired," you said with exaggerated concern. "I think you should lie down for a while. These blankets are quite comfortable."
He stared down at you with a slow smile spreading across his face. "Is that so?" He questioned. You nodded your head solemnly, trying to suppress your own smile. "Well," he said, shifting his position to lie down beside you. "In that case, maybe I can rest my eyes for a moment."
You chuckled at him and then immediately regretted doing so as your wound sent pain throughout your torso. "Don't make me laugh," you groaned. He settled in next to you gently. "I will do my best," he mumbled, pulling you close. It wasn't long before his breathing slowed, and you knew he had fallen asleep.

I don’t normally like to vent about myself or my life. But everything just feels like it’s spiralling for me and I just don’t know what to do. This is probably as personal as I’ll ever get on here haha.
I might eventually delete this. But I don’t know..
CW: personal life, SH and Sui talk
Right now my country Canada is entering late stage capitalism, as well as the US. It sucks, yes. But I figured that by the time I’m out on my own and I’m able to fend for myself, that most of this would blow over and I will be fine. But now it’s getting hard to think about stuff like that.
I believe I have undiagnosed autism and currently undiagnosed ADHD (was diagnosed as a child), which makes a lot of things hard for me. I’ve been wanting to get a diagnosis to help myself for the future. But I’ve been constantly told not to, as doing so would make people think less of me. And I hate that people have that mindset, even if it is true.
Something that is worse is that I can’t pay for anything. I can’t pay off my loans because it’s too high. I don’t even have a job to pay them off, I can’t even get a job because of my autism and because the job market is fucked. I’m moving to a whole other country really soon that I know nothing about so there’s no point in me even doing my schooling here anymore, the only reason I’m still going is because my dad wants me to. And if I don’t pay off my loans, my credit will be put in the “risk” category, credit mind you that I don’t have because I don’t have a credit card.
I cant even speak the language to the place I’m moving too, so I don’t know if I would even be able to get a job there other than just a cleaning person. And even if I come back here to Canada if I do my schooling there, I don’t know if I would be able to get a house because the housing market is absolutely terrible here.
If I stay here in Canada I have basically no one to fall back on if things turn to the absolute worse for me, and it really feels like life wants that to happen to me. I wasn’t really told much about life stuff as a kid, so now it’s biting me in the ass and I’m paying for it. I know I’m still stable at the moment, I have a house and food and water. But every day I hear more and more worse things.
I used to live out of spite, but now that spite is starting to fade on me. I can’t lie and say that I have thought the worst about myself, what I want to do to myself. I’m terrified of death, but sometimes it seems like the more favourable option. People always say to stay in the present, that’s what matters. It’s hard to stay in the present when the future keeps looking bleaker and bleaker.
I try to stay positive, that I will be okay in the end. I want to believe that I’ll be okay. But it’s getting harder and harder to see that
Everything feels like its burning around me and I don’t know what to do. It feels like it’s all my fault. That I’m just gonna die homeless and alone.
I’m sorry that this is so much more negative compared to what I normally post. Everything just feels so terrible and I don’t know what to do. I shouldn’t be feeling like this, I’m a young adult and yet I’m so worried about everything that it would all crash around me. Every time I feel even remotely stable, it feels as though life just kicks the rug under my feet and fucks everything up for me.
I want to feel okay again. But I don’t know if I ever will be.

Kendall Roy ♡ Smut Headcanons
Tumblr media
Okay sooo starting strong and maybe controversial but i think Kendall might umm cum kinda fast. But, even if did last a normal/good amount of time I think he would always be insecure that he finished too quickly.
Sooo because of that little insecurity I think he would always! try to go down on you after he came. Like, even if he just made you cum 3x on his dick he would still be like “come on baby just one more” as he's kissing your clit because he's just so worried about making you feel good!
Kendall being into toys just makes sense to me. Like he definitely would want to try handcuffs. Mostly on you, but I can see him wanting to be handcuffed while you suck his dick or ride him.
He would loveeee to hold a vibrator on your clit until you push him away or literal tears start falling and your screaming “Kendall please oh my god, I- cant-”
I think Kendalls main kink would just be trying to make you cum as much as he can! It would be so reassuring for him that even if he was a fuck up in other ways at least he could make you cum 5x in one night.
That would keep him going on hard days haha just picturing you waiting for him naked at home.
We ALL know Kendall would be a huge fan of car sex. Gently stroking and squeezing your thigh while you're on your way to some fancy event. Slowly inching his fingers higher, until he starts lightly brushing his fingers tips against your clit.
He wouldn’t even look at you while he teased you, keeping his focus straight ahead. Would probably do it while he was on the phone. Slowly making you come undone while he talked to Stewy or a possible new investor.
On the drive home he would purposefully make you moan as loud as possible. Secretly, hoping the driver could hear everything he was doing to you.
I think he would be into taking a shower together after you guys have sex. He just wants to hold you in his arms under the hot water for at least 20 minutes straight.
“Ken maybe we shouldn’t use all the hot water”
“Babe, I don't know if you know this but I’m fucking rich. I’ll have hot water flown in from fucking underwater volcanoes if it means i can hold you longer.”
Then he would wash every single part of your body so gently and soft with soap that probably costs the same as your rent in NYC. Definitely stopping to suck on your nipples, and squeeze your ass
Since a relationship with Kendall might be a bit on/off, make up sex might be a frequent occurrence. Sometimes it would feel like he was trying to start a fight just so you could have rough sex after.
But once you figured out his little game you started teasing him and not giving in so easily. At first Kendall was pissed. I mean, the poor man already feels so out of control in his life he at least liked getting to be dominant in the bedroom. However, that was until the first time you actually got him to beg to cum.
You were on top riding him and every time he got close to the edge you would stop.
“fuck baby don't stop I’m gonna cum”
as soon as he said that your hips halted. Teasing in his ear “aww baby did you wanna cum in me? Not yet” you did that 3x more times until eventually Kendalls eyes were rolling back and he couldn't stop himself from grabbing your hips and holding you while he fucked up into you, cumming sooo deep inside.
Ever since that moment occasionally he would let you take control but usually he was the dominate one
Kendall has fantasies of you waking him up with head, and would drop not so subtle hints about it. “Yeah, I think I could just increase my performance if I started everyday with like an orgasm”
His favorite thing in the world is to receive a random nude from you while he's at work but would want it to be kinda special. Like you have on fancy lingerie or you’re taking a bath. Something more than just a mirror pic, but he would gladly take that too!
My brain is just a montage of Radiohead Mitski Kendall edits right now, I could keep going forever! Enjoy♡

Beyond
Based on Leon Bridge’s song “Beyond” (one of my absolute favorites). I have so many unfinished drafts, so I decided to go ahead and finish this one. It’s probably terrible, badly proofread, etc., but, if you can, enjoy it :)
btw just about everything in here is completely made up from my imagination, so I’m sorry if there are inaccuracies or anything of the such.
Warnings: cursing, anxiety, birth, slight NSFW (not very detailed though), probably loads of other things but this is all my corrupt brain can think of as of right now
Don’t want to get ahead of myself
Feeling things I’ve never felt
It’s kind of hard for me to explain
Her personality and everything
Brings me to my knees
Jack Hughes was normally one of the most confident individuals. Not in a cocky or arrogant way, but in a way that he knew what he was capable and had to offer, and there wasn’t much that could waiver that feeling.
As soon as Dawson Mercer brought his sister to one of the team’s formal dinners since Ryleigh was out of town, every bit of confidence that Jack had faded into a puddle of self consciousness. He had always prided himself with being smooth with the ladies, but Y/N Mercer was the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on. Her beauty didn’t stop at her looks though, no. She had this ability to captivate Jack, almost trance like. Jack was hanging onto every word of hers, and laughing when she would be quirky or funny.
Jack had never felt this way before. Every time him and Y/N would make eye contact he would fidget with his button up, run his fingers through his hair, and he even caught himself biting his nails a couple of times. Nico picked up on this behavior immediately, and really everybody else that knew Jack did too. This was so out of character for the man, so it was easy to connect the dots to the new girl in the room. Nico decided to rescue his friend from himself, pulling him to the side, away from everybody, and checking in on him.
“Are you ok?” Nico asked, forcing Jack to turn his back on Y/N and pay attention to him.
“Y-yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?” Jack feigned confusion, but immediately began to grin. He knew he got caught, and couldn’t help but feel like this was such a boyish crush.
“Yeah that’s what I thought,” Nico chuckled. “Get it together or else she’s going to think you’re crazy,” Nico gave him a little liquid encouragement from his flask that he kept in his suit jacket and pushed his friend back to where the beautiful Mercer was standing.
Once the conversation was dying within the group, and Y/N had gone to get a drink, Jack followed. Y/N’s back was turned to him, so he gave her shoulder a feather tap with his finger. Jack subconsciously had moved over a bit, causing him to be out of view from the direction in which he tapped. Y/N looked over the original shoulder, and then to the other to see Jack. His face was beet red and he let out a nervous laugh.
“Sorry, um, I’m Jack, but you probably already know that since Dawson is one of my friends,” Jack was looking everywhere except Y/N’s face while he fidgeted his fingers. He was so absolutely mortified of his behavior, but as soon as Y/N opened her mouth his eyes shot up to her. Her voice was angelic, calming and he could sit and listen to her read a phone book.
“Yeah I’ve definitely heard some interesting stories about you. Not too bad though,” she giggled and Jack could feel his heart flutter.
“At least they’re not too bad, haha. Um, I just wanted to ask if you maybe would be available to go get lunch somewhere, or dinner. Really anything that works with your schedule,” Jack rambled on. His teammates, including Dawson, were watching the scene go down. It was absolutely painful watching the always confident professional hockey player melt into a puddle of goop before Y/N, but Dawson couldn’t help but feel a little pride that his sister was the reason.
“Yeah, that would be nice,” Y/N replied with a smile.
“Awesome! Yeah just let me know when, or I’ll ask you and see what works,” Jack felt a little weight off of his chest and turned to walk away.
“Oh, you’re number?” Y/N asked and Jack could feel his cheeks heat up. How stupid did he have to be to forget to ask for her number?
“Yeah, sorry about that,” he apologized and handed Y/N his phone so that she could type in her number. He then sent her a text message so that she would have his. They exchanged smiles, but kept distance for the rest of the night. Jack reunited with Nico and Dawson, finally feeling like he could breathe again.
“That was painful to watch,” Nico laughed. Jack flipped him off and looked at Dawson, who sported the biggest grin on his face.
“I don’t know what the fuck your parents did to create her, but that is a literal angel. Can I please take your sister out on a date?” Jack breathed out, eliciting a laugh from his two friends.
“Yeah, bud. Don’t fuck it up though. You think she’s an angel now, but you don’t want to get on her bad side,” Dawson admitted. Jack smiled, so excited to get to know this mysterious girl that has him absolutely folding.
She shines me up like gold on my arm
I wanna take it slow but it’s so hard
I love to see her face in daylight
It’s more than just our bodies at night
But she’s really temptin’ me, ooh
It had been a solid 3 months since Jack and Y/N had started going out. They didn’t wear a label yet, and the thought of rushing whatever this was absolutely terrified Jack. He had been on the bad end of many relationships, but none of them felt like this. Y/N accompanied Jack to many NHL events and awards, and everybody always commented on how happy the boy was. He couldn’t take any credit though because it was all Y/N.
After he had gotten over his initial nerves, it was like the two had known each other their whole lives. They connected on such a deeper level than just “liking” each other. It was like everything in the universe drove them together. So much so that the physical aspect of what they had was no match to their emotional and mental connection.
Jack wouldn’t lie, there were several times where Y/N would wear things that just made him feel THAT way, but he always managed to keep those feelings in check. The two had kissed, but that’s as far as it had gone so far. That is until their date to the lake.
The annual Hughes’ lake house vacation was in full swing, and this summer Jack decided to invite Y/N. He had planned a romantic date for the two: a picnic on a blanket by the water at sunset. He had packed sandwiches, wine, a homemade charcuterie board, and candles. This girl really had him in the palm of her hand. He was willing to do anything to express the love he felt for her.
They didn’t dress up, both wearing their swimsuits, and that was the problem. Y/N kept glancing at Jack’s body, almost hungrily, hoping he wouldn’t notice. However, when she wasn’t looking, Jack was biting his lip and trying to keep his friend under control.
The dinner went smoothly, and the sunset was breathtaking. As Y/N started to talk about the beauty of the sunset, Jack couldn’t control himself and smashed his lips on hers, his hands cupping her face gently while her hands went to his sides. He laid her down gently, supporting his weight with one arm and letting his fingers caress her skin with the other arm.
This wasn’t like any other kiss that they had before now. The passion that exuded from their bodies was far too great to be confined into a simple kiss. Things got heated to the point where Y/N lost her top in the middle of things. Jack wanted so bad to continue to show her with his mouth how much she meant to him, but he couldn’t help but think that she deserves better than having this moment in the dirt by a lake.
“Y/N I can’t let this be our first time. I need this to be perfect, and getting dirt in places where dirt shouldn’t be is not how I want to remember this,” he panted out. Y/N was slightly disappointed, but her heart grew when she realized that Jack was absolutely in love with her. She smiled, placed a peck on his nose, and placed her top back on.
The walk back to the house was about 10 minutes, and they never let their hands fall apart. They laughed and shared longing glances as they returned to the rest of the boys.
Do you think I’m being foolish if I don’t rush in?
I’m scared to death that she might be it
That the love is real
That the shoe might fit
She might just be my everything and beyond (beyond)
Space and time in the afterlife
Will she have my kids will she be my wife?
She might just be my everything and beyond
“Dude there’s no way you two have been going out for almost 4 months and still haven’t had sex,” Trevor was absolutely shocked. He knew his best friend like the back of his hand, and he didn’t think that Jack had gone 1 month, let alone 4, without sleeping with whatever girl he was with.
“Man, you don’t get it. This one is special. This one deserves for everything to be perfect before she gives herself to me. I can’t let it be in some hotel room that we’re at during the season. Like she’s actually got me thinking about waiting until we’re married,” Jack admitted. He just couldn’t ruin this relationship with her.
He finally asked her to be his girlfriend a few weeks ago, and everything was going so good, but there still wasn’t a time where he felt was perfect for them to take that next step.
“Woah there buddy, marriage?” Trevor’s jaw fell open as he grabbed his phone and turned the speaker button off and put it to his ear.
“Yeah, Z. She’s perfect. There’s never going to be anyone that makes me feel the way she does,” Jack smiled at the thought of building a future with such a special woman. It terrifies him to no end to know that a single person has this sort of effect on him, but he just began to embrace it eventually.
“Do you have a time frame for marriage?” Trevor asked.
“I don’t want to rush things, but I’ve already bought a ring and I’m thinking about doing it when we go home for Christmas,” Jack admitted.
“Oh yeah, no rush, just planning on getting engaged this year, already bought a ring, but no rush,” Trevor mocked, “You’re so fucking whipped, it’s disgusting,” Trevor groaned.
“Nah, Z-Man. I’m so fucking in love,” Jack chuckled on the other end of the phone thinking about his girl.
“Yeah, whatever, shut the fuck up, lover boy,” Trevor was slightly jealous of Jack’s relationship. He could only dream about finding somebody he could love as much as Jack loved Y/N. As much as he was jealous, he was just as happy to see Jack be so happy.
The two hung up the phone and Jack went to admire the ring. A part of him wanted to pop the question tomorrow, but the other part wanted everything to be planned out and perfect. He also was trying really hard not to rush into a marriage, which was a terrifying feeling. Holding yourself back from taking the next step and committing your life to somebody that you are absolutely in love with…there’s no other feeling like it. Jack wanted her for the rest of his life, but he had about 8 months to plan for the most important question of his life.
I wanna bring her ‘round to meet ya
I think you’d like her kind demeanor
I know that Grandma would’ve loved her
Like she was her own
She makes me feel at home
The first time that Jack brought Y/N home to meet his family in Michigan was nerve wracking at first, but turned into memories that he would treasure forever. Luke knew Y/N, but the rest of his family hadn’t gotten the chance to in the 5 months that they had been dating. Schedules were difficult to work with, but when the first opportunity to hop on a plane with Jack to Michigan arose, Y/N jumped on the idea. If his family was anything like him, Y/N would love them.
Jack, on the other hand, wanted them to love her as much as he did. Not that he didn’t think Y/N was good enough for his family, she was perfect. He was scared that his family would be too picky. They expected a lot out of each other, and Y/N was perfect as she was. He just wanted them to see that.
Once they reached the Hughes’ home, Y/N was beaming, and Jack was admiring her giddiness to meet everybody.
They grabbed their bags, and Jack went through the front door. There was a chorus of “Hellos” and hugs before Jack finally took a deep breath in and out.
“Mom, Dad, Quinn, this is Y/N. We’ve been dating for about 5 months now,” he smiled at his girl who was going to hug everybody. God, he loved her so much, and he soon would find out that his family adored her as well.
Later that night, after everyone had ate dinner Jack got the opportunity to sit down with just his mom. They talked about how his life was going, the things he would change about his approach at hockey for the next season, and they finally got on the topic of Y/N.
“So Y/N? How serious are we talking here?” Ellen flashed a cheeky grin at her middle son. As much as she loved him, she knew he held a reputation as a slight player. She was honestly surprised that her son had a relationship that had lasted this long.
“Don’t freak out on me, ok? Let me explain,” Jack began. Ellen looked very confused, but nodded for him to continue.
“I’ve bought a ring,” He stated as Ellen still looked confused.
“Like a promise ring?” She genuinely didn’t think that it was a possibility for him to have bought a wedding ring, like the thought never registered with her until Jack began to rub the back of his neck and began to explain.
“Not exactly. I bought a wedding ring a little while back. But I’m not planning on proposing until around December,” He explained as Ellen’s eyes grew wide and she sucked in her lips, biting them to hold back a miniature freak out.
“Honey, I love you so much. I admire the heart you have and how you love others, I truly do. But what the hell are you thinking? Do you know how much can happen in 8 months? What if she gets cold feet or wants to break up?” Ellen was whisper-yelling at him, trying her best to prevent the others from hearing Jack’s little secret.
The truth is Jack knew his mom had a point, but at the same time nobody truly knew how close Jack and Y/N were. They spent every free moment together and supported each other in all that they did. He just had to trust himself, which is what he had been doing this whole time and it’s paid off so far.
“Mom, I just know that’s who I’m supposed to marry. She’s kind, thoughtful, so selfless. Like when I think about my life partner, there’s nobody else that could possibly fulfill that role. When I think about the person I want my kids to learn from, Y/N is the only person that I would trust to help raise our kids with determination and morals. Please just trust me,” Jack was practically begging his mom.
Ellen couldn’t help but smile at the young love. The mom part of her was petrified that her son would get hurt, but watching Y/N treat them with respect and kindness backed up her son’s words about the girl. She had also never seen her son like this, so he had to be telling the truth.
As she got up from the couch, she ruffled her sons hair and kissed his forehead. “You’re crazy, but I love you,” she whispered in his ear, causing Jack to smiled up at her.
“Love you too, mom,” he blushed at the thought of Y/N Mercer turning into Y/N Hughes.
I give up, I’m in love cryin’ out to you
Oh me, oh my I can’t explain
She might just be my everything
The eight months that followed after his chat with his mom flew by, and now here everybody was gathered at his grandparents house on his dad’s side. Even though his mom’s side was Jewish, his dad’s side still celebrated Christmas with them being catholic. He had made sure to find time and communicate that with Y/N so that they would be making the get together with one another.
He wanted to make sure that Y/N had met everybody in his family before committing to a life with him. He didn’t want to propose in front of everybody, but he definitely needed a little moral support from his immediate family.
Without any doubt, his entire family adored Y/N. She got along with all of his cousins and aunts and uncles, and his grandparents went on and on about how she’s too good for Jack. He fell even more in love with her, if possible, when he caught her playing Barbie’s with some of the younger kids. He pulled his brothers to the side while Y/N was preoccupied to let them in on his plan.
“What I’m about to tell you two must stay between us. The only other people that know is Y/N’s family and mom and dad, ok? Well, and maybe Trevor, but that’s besides the point,” He began.
“I’m asking Y/N to marry me tonight. I’ve got it planned where we’re going to the dock where I’ve got people setting up marquee letters, there’s going to be fireworks and there’s flowers leading the way down there. I’m so fucking nervous right now, like almost as nervous as I was the first time I met her. Please just talk me down,” he rambled on.
Meanwhile his brothers were in shock. They knew that their brother was in love, but it had only been about a year and a half since the two had gone on their first date.
“Look I know you need words of encouragement, but what the fuck, Jack? Why are we just now finding out?” Quinn was the first to speak up, slightly hurt that he was just now hearing of this, but he soon could see how much this meant to his brother, so he warmed up to the idea.
“I needed it to be kept absolute secret. Y/N couldn’t even get a feeling that it was somewhere on the horizon,” Jack explained.
His brothers talk to him for about 30 minutes before people were starting to leave the get together. Jack noticed this and gave a glance to his mom for their family to leave. Jack and Y/N hugged everybody goodbye and drove back to the Hughes home with the rest of his immediate family. They made it there, Jack texting all of the people involved in the proposal eagerly, making sure everything was going as planned.
As they all got out of the vehicle, Jack took Y/N’s hand, smiling at her.
“Why don’t we take a late night walk by the lake? Just a quick one?” Jack asked. Y/N was a bit puzzled, but pulled her jacket tighter and following her boyfriend.
The two talked, walking slowly towards the frozen water. Y/N’s laughter and constant gazing at Jack distracted her from that of the marquee letters for as long as possible until the lights caught her attention and she realized that she was walking on rose petals. The words “Marry Me?” shining through the cold Michigan night.
Jack’s hands were sweating despite the freezing temperatures, but he continued to lead his girl closer to the lights with her hand in his. He could hear her sniffling and glanced over to see tears steaming down her face.
Once they reached the wooden dock, Jack grabbed her other hand and turned her body towards him.
“Y/N Mercer, you’re my absolute best friend. You are the only person that I truly feel this type of love for. I miss you the second I’m away from you, and I count down the minutes until I can see you again. I’ve truly tried to do everything right in this relationship, not rushing things, waiting until marriage, and I just want to be able to spend all of my waking moments with you. I can not bear to think of a life where I don’t have you, and I can’t help but feel like everyday I’m not married to you is a day I’m losing with you,” With that he pulled the Tiffany blue ring box out of his jacket and got down on one knee.
Y/N was almost sobbing at this point, her hands covering her nose and mouth as she watched her best friend on one knee. He truly had done everything right, and it wasn’t even a question if she would marry him.
“Y/N Mercer, will you do me the absolute honor of taking my last name and being my life partner?” Jack asked.
Y/N managed to nod her head, but she didn’t think she could form the ‘yes’ if she tried. She was practically bawling and Jack was infatuated with her.
“Is that a yes,” Jack chuckled and began to put the ring on her finger. She nodded feverishly and leaned into him as he stood up. They shared a passionate kiss, the only thing that could distract them from this moment was the fireworks over the lake and the cheers from the house.
“Oh my God I love you,” Y/N cried as she laid her head on Jack’s shoulder and admired the fireworks.
Once the show had ended they made their way back to the house where they were not only greeted by the Hughes, but also the Mercers. Jack’s brothers and Dawson hugged him and the moms hugged Y/N. Y/N truly couldn’t think of better person for her. She loved his family and him. She couldn’t wait to share a last name with her soulmate.
Space and time in the afterlife
Will she have my kids?
Will she be my wife?
She might just be my everything and beyond
Jack and Y/N had an engagement that lasted 6 months. They both felt like they had just enough time to plan their dream wedding and not feel rushed. Their wedding was absolutely stunning. The cake, the venue, her dress…everything was better than imagined.
Nothing topped the moment, however, when Jack saw Y/N in her wedding dress for the first time walking down the aisle with her dad. Jack’s breath hitched and he felt tears stinging his eyes. He tried to keep it together, he really did, but when Quinn gave his shoulder a squeezed, and Jack looked over at tears in his older brother’s eyes, he began to let his tears fall as well.
Y/N was absolutely stunning. Jack truly didn’t understand how he had managed to not only catch her attention at that party so many months ago, but how in the world had he kept her.
Her dad had announced that him and Y/N’s mom were giving her away and he turned to hug Jack. He gave him a squeeze and whispered in his ear before letting go, “We love you, Kid.” Jack nodded and thanked him.
The ceremony was stunning, and their vows were endearing.
“Jack Hughes, before we get to the sappy stuff I just need to let everybody know how we happened,” Y/N chuckled, her voice hitching when she glanced at him, a tear streaming down Jack’s face.
“Jack Rowdy Hughes was an absolute mess the first night I had met him,” and with that everybody laughed, especially the Devils players that were there to witness the tragedy that was a love stricken Hughes Brother.
“I had always heard stories from Dawson about how bold and straightforward you were, but that night I feel like I knew who you were immediately. You were a man who’s heart held so much love that you couldn’t contain it. I’m so happy and blessed to say that you haven’t wavered, but gotten stronger in your love. You have showed me what true love should look and feel like, and there will never be another person like you. I promise to love, support, and cherish you until my heart stops beating. I promise to calm you down when you chew the ref out for bad calls, and to love you even when you are missing a few teeth. I can’t wait to begin this life with you as your life partner,” Y/N concluded, squeezing Jack’s hand as he composed himself enough to begin his vows.
He had been skeptical at writing his own vows, but in this moment he knew exactly what to say.
“I really wasn’t expecting you to out me like that, but I can’t say anything because it’s true,” He laughed, causing a chain reaction in the wedding guests.
“Y/N Mercer, I knew you were going to be my wife the second I laid eyes on you. I didn’t know how, or when, but I knew that when I envisioned my future, you were there at every important moment. If I’m being honest, I bought that ring a little over 3 months of dating you. Nobody understands me quite the way you do. Sometimes we don’t even have to tell each other how we feel, it’s merely a look and we know. I promise to always put you first. I promise to love you with every single fiber of my being. My life has been filled with so much love and joy since knowing you, and I can’t wait to feel that for the rest of my life,” Jack concluded.
The two exchanged rings and the priest prayed over the two.
“It’s with the utmost privilege that I pronounce you man and wife. Jack, you may kiss your bride,” And at those words Jack smiled at his new wife and planted a loving, eager, tender kiss on her lips.
———
After the wedding, the two could not get enough of each other’s bodies. Waiting for over a year to have sex had built up so many thoughts, and needless to say the two were always busy. After Trevor and Caufield had walked in on them in the middle of it, it was a known fact to knock before coming into their house.
The two weren’t planning on kids anytime soon, but honestly they weren’t trying to prevent it. Money wasn’t an issue, Y/N had landed and job where she could work from home, and they had just recently adopted a puppy that kept her company when she missed Jack during the hockey season.
After feeling like she had the flu for what felt like two weeks, she finally did the math of when her last period was and began to freak out. As soon as she possibly could, she ran to target and bought a variety of different tests, knowing that she was going to take so many of them to be sure whether she was or wasn’t pregnant.
She took about 4, leaving them face up on the bathroom counter as she walked out. She couldn’t possibly just sit there and wait for the results. After her timer on her phone had gone off, she nervously made her way back to the tests. She felt dizzy as every single one indicated that she was, in fact, pregnant.
Jack wouldn’t be home for another 3 days, so she successfully managed to keep her mouth shut about it while she came up with a way to tell him. She managed to get an appointment with her OBGYN and took home the sonograms that were made, the baby so tiny it was hardly noticeable.
She picked out a cute onesy, took a fresh pregnancy test, and placed the sonogram all carefully into a gift bag and left it out on the counter when Jack got home. He curiously walked over to the back and looked at Y/N.
“What’s this for?” He questioned, causing a smile to inch onto his wife’s face.
“Just open it,” Y/N replied, to which he raised his eyebrows cautiously and carefully removed the paper.
The first thing he saw was the onesy, so he was a little confused. But when he saw the sonogram and the test he snapped his head toward his wife.
“Are you serious?” He didn’t think that she would joke about this, but he was in complete shock.
Y/N nodded and made her way to him. They both had tears glistening in their eyes as they embraced. He pulled away from Y/N slightly and looked her in the eyes.
“I’m actually going to be a dad, and you’re actually going to be a mom?” He already knew the answer, but he just needed to hear it from you again.
“Yes, my love. We’re going to be parents!” Y/N squealed.
———
Telling everybody was one of their favorite parts about the pregnancy. Getting to see everybody so excited, and seeing all of the love that was shown to their new little family was amazing.
As soon as Y/N had a visible bump, Jack was obsessed with it. He would rant to it about stupid calls during a game, he would attempt to sing to it, and he would pepper it with kisses all the time. Sometimes he would accidentally let a few curse words slip to it, earning him a thump from Y/N, but she secretly enjoyed seeing him so fascinated with it.
When the bump grew bigger and Y/N struggled with back pain, he would hold her belly for her while she enjoyed the pressure being taken away slightly. As much as she enjoyed feeling the little kicks and flutter, the little one was running out of room to move around, causing mama to struggle with the basics like breathing and walking.
Y/N was at 39 weeks and was feeling absolutely miserable. She felt bad because she was quick to snap at Jack, but he knew it was only because of the life growing inside of her.
The Devil’s had just made it to the playoffs, but had a few days between their next game. Jack was weary to leave the house, even if it was to go practice. He was scared to death that he would somehow be late, or miss his baby’s birth.
After coming home from a pretty intense practice, he found that Y/N was walking laps around their house.
“Babe, you ok?” Jack’s concern seeped through his voice.
“No. I need this baby out. I’m losing my mind,” she groaned. Jack chuckled at this.
“Can we please have sex? I have tried everything else and it’s not working. I’ve tried exercise balls, walking, spicy foods, literally every single thing. I made a list from TikTok videos of things that can induce labor and none of it is working. What I haven’t tried is sex, though,” Y/N rambled on as Jack slowly made his way to his wife. He smirked and grabbed her hips as he led her to their bedroom.
Yeah he was tired and sweaty and actually disgusting, but if Y/N wanted to have sex then that’s what he was going to do.
After undressing each other, Jack laid on his back and had Y/N straddle him. They were extremely limited in the positions they could do, but being on top was equally enjoyable for both of them.
Y/N let out a low moan as soon as she felt him inside of her. She sat still for a few seconds, adjusting to Jack, but then began to bounce up and down.
Jack helped out when he could feel her slow down, supporting her under her thighs and giving her an extra push.
When they swapped positions to doggy style, it didn’t take long for Jack to feel close to the edge. Just as he was about to get off, he felt liquid drip out of Y/N as she let out a hiss.
“Babe that’s a little rough,” she groaned.
“Y/N I think your water just broke, holy shit,” he tried to stay calm, but he was freaking out.
Y/N wasn’t in any significant pain, it just felt like the Braxton Hicks contractions she had been enduring for a few days, that is until she felt a searing pain shoot through her.
“I think we need to go to the hospital,” She announced and Jack immediately got together the hospital bag. The car seat was already in the car, and they were off to the hospital.
They kept track of how far apart each contraction was, and it was averaging about 3 minutes.
Once they got checked into a room, Y/N was able to relax, following all of the steps of her birthing plan.
Jack watched in complete awe. He admired the strength that his wife exuded. She was incredible.
With each contraction, Jack made sure to let her squeeze his hand as tight as she needed to. He tried to help her control her breathing, and all he wished was for the pain to go away and for their baby to be here already.
When the time came to push, he could tell that Y/N was a little scared.
“I don’t know if I can do this,” she cried to Jack. Jack rubbed her shoulders in reassurance.
“Babe you are so fucking strong. You didn’t come this far to back out. You can do anything, especially bring our baby into this world,” he encouraged her. That’s all she needed in order to do just that.
With 4 pushes later, the sound of crying filled the room along with tears from Jack and Y/N. Jack couldn’t help it, he started to sob with Y/N as soon as he saw the baby’s tiny figure. Sure it was a little gross looking with all of the goop on it, but he didn’t care. It was his family that they had built together.
“Congratulations you two! It’s a baby girl,” the doctor announced as he placed the baby on Y/N’s chest. Jack wouldn’t mind being a girl dad, he was ecstatic.
After Baby Hughes was cleaned off and the nurses and doctor checked Y/N out, the three of them had their own time together, alone, for the first time.
“So we do know what we’re going to name her, right?” Jack questioned. The two of them had discussed names for a while now, but Jack honestly couldn’t remember what was decided.
“Ella Dawson Hughes,” Y/N announced. Ella came from Ellen, and Dawson was obvious since without him none of this would be happening.
“Absolutely perfect,” Jack managed to croak out.
After a few hours, the two decided to allow visitors to come in and see the baby. The families were first, followed by just about the whole Devils team, then came the various other NHL players like Trevor, Jamie, Caufield and Turcotte. It was such a beautiful thing to watch these tough athletes turn to mush around such a tiny human. It was even more heartwarming when they hugged Y/N and Jack, filled with so much pride for the two of them.
When the last of the visitors left for the day and it was just Jack holding a sleeping baby Ella, and a sleeping Y/N, he let more tears fall. As much as he had loved his wife, nothing could have prepared him for the surplus of emotions his heart was going through watching his best friend become a mom, and seeing the result of their love coming into fruition.
Baby Ella scrunched her nose, letting out a small cry.
“It’s ok, my love. Daddy loves you,” he let her grip his finger and rocked her slightly, lulling her back to sleep.
This was his life, and he was totally in love with it.

slashers reacting to thier male!s/o using a slingshot to throw tiny candys at them!
haha so i dont know why i wanted to do this but i had a funny idea so lets get to it now i guess...?
Tumblr media
bo sinclair 🧢 : -thinks its cute, eats them and shares them with you. -he favorite is probably like caramel or skittles i think. or hard candy like jolly rancher chewies ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎ -i think jolly rancher chewies because i think jolly ranchers are sour for some reason, but sweet and tasty at the same time. -shoot it at his head and hes gonna throw it back, i tell you that much. -saves some in a drawer for later usually. -dont let vincent find out or he’ll want some to.
jason voorhees 🪓 : -when you first did it he literally chuckled. he probably wont eat it around you unless your eating it together. -his favorite candy is probably smarties because one time you gave him a box and told him “its because your a smart boy” so it makes him feel happy. -also saves it for when hes done killing people he’ll just sit down and rest. -doesn't eat to much because his mom said not much to candy because he’ll get a tummy ache (his mom is the best) -and he needs to keep his muscles for when intruders come to crystal lake. michael myers 🔪 : -first reaction is smiling, to your surprise. -and he actually really likes candy, its his favorite movie snack so he eats it a lot. -he likes coffee crisp and those rainbow strips. or maybe sour candy. or starburst. -since everyone else says he eats all the cookies, if you have a stash of candy, expect a break in + theft pretty often but if he gets sick from it to many times he’ll promise to cut down on sweets. -secretly a good boy at heart but he just likes candy, its not his fault it tastes so good. harry warden ❤️ : -as soon as you threw it, he almost got confused as to what it was. being stuck in a mine for a while does that to you. -you have to have gotten him to take his mask off first. just like everyone else. -since hes a cannibal, it might take a while to get him used to normal food again. -he might like cinnamon hearts or very sour food, since his taste buds have gotten to used to flesh so it has to be strong to be taste-able. -cinnamon hearts is ironic because his whole killing holiday is valentines day so i bet he also likes those tiny colored heart candys with words on them. the kind you get on valentines day. -shares all his candy with you. this is part one, i’ll do more some other time :)

Dating Jules Vaughn
warnings ✩° : fluff headcanons, angst headcanons, jules being toxic, cheating, mentions of drug use, cursing.
pairing ✩° : jules vaughn x gn!reader
authors note ✩° : I WANTED TO POST SOMETHING TO SHOW IM STILL ALIVE. getting stuff done tomorrow so i’ll be occupied, but trust in me...wayne stuff and aib coming soon...
Tumblr media
- Jules is probably the most interesting person you’ll meet in your life time. That’s not to say you yourself aren't, it’s just that Jules is a very different kind of interesting. You like to describe her as if Luna Lovegood and Sailor Moon had a secret love child, because that’s exactly who she is.
- She’s the definition of spontaneous. The type to sneak into your backyard and climb up to your room just to show you a funny post by someone you both mutually dislike and laugh about it for the entire night, or the type to get up and start dancing out of no where. Dead wife trope kinda.
- Around you, Jules is seriously so clingy. She loves showing PDA and showing people you're hers and vice versa, there’s no problem if you start to feel insecure about being lesser than anyone else because Jules will always shoo that feeling away by holding your hand or kissing you in the halls.
- One thing you guys love to do together is each others makeup. If you like more subtle, natural looks, you’ll recreate them on her and she’ll recreate her favorite looks of her own or even go all out. Nights like those always end up in you two not taking each other seriously because you end up messing her eyeliner or she pokes your eye by accident.
- If you're not an anime fan, Jules converts you. But if you already are, you both will spend hours talking about old 90′s anime or new generation magical girl, slice of life, or psychological horror shows as well as your favorite characters and ships in each. If there’s a couple on screen, she’ll ask you which one you are and which one she is. Madoka and Homura for real...
- Jules could give less of a fuck what other people think of her. After what happened in front of Nate that one time early on, everyone’s already cautious around her, seeing her as a ticking time bomb before she goes off again and ends up hurting herself or someone else. But if someone fucks with you? They might as well consider themselves dead at that point because they're next on her hit humiliate list.
- I don’t really see Jules being loyal. Obviously. So when you guys have an argument or you accidentally ignore her for too long, she gets really insecure or intoxicated and ends up cheating on you with either one of her friends or one of yours. At first, you didn’t know and when she ends up telling you when things die down and everything’s back to normal, she tries to play it off like it wasn't that big of a deal.
- You guys go on multiple breaks but always end up back with each other.
- Very honest when she wants to be, though sometimes it’s hidden beneath a condescending or unsure laugh. She just can’t handle people being boring, even if it comes to you.
“Maybe you shouldn't wear that, Y/n...”
“Why? What’s wrong with it?”
“Uhmmmm...haha...never mind! Keep it on, you look great!”
- Being close to Jules also means you're close to her dad. He treats you like you're his kid, always lets you stay at their house if you want, feeds you, and sometimes even pays for things you want. Jules gets embarrassed but she knows how much he cares and loves that you two get along.
- Always going to parties and getting wasted together or being the only sober one, taking care of Jules.
- You are her safe haven, a judge free zone where she can relax and say what’s on her mind.

1,2, and/or 11 with Hunter please! Congrats on 700! That's amazing!
Hello, my friend!!! Sorry it took me so damn long!!! I hope this is alright! <3 Thanks for sticking around with me for so long! <3 A/N: This is the LAST of my 700 follower requests haha. I'm literally at 1.3K followers now, if that tells you how behind I am. I'll be posting the masterlist for all of them soon! Thanks to everyone who sent in requests! I appreciate all of you so much!!!
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI; Angst-ish? Slightly suggestive language. WC: 1K 1. “I’m not going anywhere.” 2. “I think I’m in love with you.” 11. “Keep your eyes on me.”
“Is Omega still over at Lyana’s?” You ask Hunter as you come into the living room.
“Yeah, she is- Oh. You look nice.” Hunter smiles at you softly, making you go warm all over. “Where are you headed?”
“I’m just going for a walk.” You shrug, nonchalantly.
“Why do you look so dolled up?” Echo’s voice cuts through the room as he walks in.
“I’m not dolled up.” You turn to look at him.
“She’s probably got a date with Yuno.” Wrecker teases.
“Shut up.” You roll your eyes, going warm in the face. “We’re just going down to the beach.”
Your whole body floods with warmth again as you notice Hunter taking in your sundress, his eyes traveling down your entire body. Why does he have this effect on you?
“Just don’t get sand in unmentionable places. Believe me, it sucks.” Echo pats you on your shoulder.
“I don’t even want to know how you know that.” You laugh.
Echo throws you a wink and goes into the kitchen. When you turn around to face Hunter, he looks up from clearly having been looking at your legs. It makes you burn in all the right places. But… Hunter is your sergeant… You’ve been trying to put those feelings aside for a couple years now. Unfortunately, they always seem to creep back up.
“Alright. I’ll see you guys later.” You start to head to the door, needing to clear your head before you start to dwell on those thoughts.
“Is he here?” Hunter stands up and everyone gives him a weird look.
What is with him tonight? Normally, he’s not so in your business.
“No, I’m meeting him down at the beach?” You look at Hunter, confused.
Hunter lets out a humorless snort. “He can’t even pick you up? Some guy.”
Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair all look at each other and then exit the room. “What’s your problem?” You ask him, putting your hands on your hips.
“I just think you could do better than Yuno, is all.” Hunter shrugs.
Your eyebrows furrow. “You do know it’s none of your business who I spend time with, right?”
“I… I know that.” Hunter sighs. “I’ve just heard the way Yuno talks about women…”
The realization that he really is just looking out for you hits and you feel the tension drain from your body, unable to be mad at him anymore. You see his shoulders relax as well.
“You’re sweet to care.” You smile, softly. “Thank you. But… We’re just hanging out. Okay?”
“Alright.” Hunter sighs.
You give him one last smile and then head out, making your way down the cobbled stone streets of Pabu, toward the beach. But as you walk, you can’t help but wonder about Hunter. About what was really bothering him. Why the sudden interest in your whereabouts or who you’re hanging out with. Since you’d all found peace after getting Omega, Tech, and Crosshair back, Hunter seemed more relaxed. But now… well. Who knows?
When you get down to the dock, you don’t see Yuno yet so you sit on the edge and wait, patiently.
After about forty minutes, you realize Yuno isn’t coming. Which is fine, honestly. Whatever. You didn’t like Yuno that much anyway. But now, you’re embarrassed. Because if Hunter finds out, he’ll probably never let you hear the end of it.
As if on time, you hear a throat clearing. Turning around, you’re expecting to find Yuno finally showing up, but instead find Hunter. With a sigh, you turn back toward the ocean.
“He didn’t show. You were right.” You chuckle.
He quietly sits next to you.
“If you’ve come to say ‘I told you so’, I understand…” You murmur, leaning against the wooden dock post.
Hunter puts a hand on your shoulder and you look at him, softly. His hands are always so warm and so careful. You’ve lost track of the amount of times you’ve gotten lost in thought over those hands.
“I’m not here to say ‘I told you so’. I’m here because I care about you.” He smiles ever so slightly.
“You care about me…” You look down at your feet dangling over the water.
“Of course I do.” His hand falls from your shoulder to your own hand that rests between you.
Your chest tightens slightly at his admission.
“I… I more than care about you…” He whispers.
You look up at him. “What do you mean?”
He couldn’t mean… There’s no way.
“I think… no… I am… I’m in love with you.” Hunter confesses, taking your hand and holding it.
“You are?”
“I am. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to tell you… and I completely understand if you don’t feel the same way-” He starts to ramble but you cut him off by quickly capturing his lips with yours, unable to hold back any longer.
His lips are so soft and feel like home to you, like everything that has happened to you has led right up to this moment. This perfect moment.
“Does that mean you feel the same?” He chuckles, brushing his thumb across your cheek.
You laugh. “Yes. Very much so.”
“Thank the Maker. I was so nervous.” He lets out a soft breathy laugh and you can’t help but grin at him, not minding the continuous fluttering in your stomach.
“Let’s go home so I can properly cook for you and treat you how you deserve to be treated.” He stands up, offering his hand.
You take it and as you walk back toward home, he doesn’t let go. And as you walk past Yuno and his latest conquest who he seemed to have blown you off for, Hunter tilts your chin up toward him.
“Hey, keep your eyes on me.” He grins down at you as you continue walking.
“I have no reason to look anywhere else.” You promise him, getting lost in the brown eyes that have been your favorite since the moment they looked your way.
The moment that you approach the house, your lips are on his again and dinner is momentarily forgotten as he pushes you up against the siding, not ready to let Echo, Crosshair, Tech, or Wrecker ruin the moment yet.
“I’m never letting you go.” Hunter whispers against your lips.
“Somehow, I’m okay with that.” You laugh softly as your lips find each other again.

@kingarthurmorgantheoutlaw : Hope your doing well cutie! 😉❤ I'm sure your probably getting a bit tired of a lot of RE8 requests as of lately, so Imma go against the grain and spice it up a little with something different for ya! I've been thinking of Esme Cullen from Twilight with a gn! S/O who plays 'The Sims 4', but is just a casual Simmer. However they are mainly into building/designing houses instead of what others normally do when playing the Sims. And since Esme is an actual architect herself- maybe S/O wants Esme to judge their "hard work" of the houses S/O had built in the game. (Plus it's cute bonding time with Esme and her S/O!!!!❤❤❤❤)
I’m doing alright, gorgeous ;) I’ll never get tired of RE8, but I have been a bit lovesick over the Twilight women recently (Esme and Rosalie mostly). I made Esme the motherly girlfriend and as always Y/N is stupid. Let’s get into it!
You had gotten your copy of the Sims 4 and were so excited to play it.
You and Emmet had just finished a brutal brawl in Madden and you needed something to unwind with.
The sounds of you two yelling at each other soon faded and the Cullen house was calm once again.
Jasper finally felt safe enough to come out of his room now that emotions weren’t running high.
You settled yourself on the couch and dedicated the next few hours to designing and building. It was relaxing and Rosalie came in to watch you play for a while. She casually offered suggestions and you actually got her to laugh by making an avatar of her.
By the time you were finished, you had created a cute little neighborhood in the game. You were very happy with the work, but… You felt like you needed an artistic eye to judge how you did. You suddenly realized you were dating the most talented interior designer ever and shot up off the couch to go find Esme.
“Esme! Esme! I gotta show you something!” You said barreling towards the kitchen.
Esme had been running errands all day and now she was cooking you dinner. She was planning on testing out a new recipe, and since you were the only human in the house, you got the job of taste tester by default.
As you turned the corner, you tripped and crashed into a counter due to your clumsiness.
Esme gasped and was at your side in an instant. She pulled you up and dusted you off. She finally gave you a once over to make sure you weren’t hurt, and then she (Very nicely) scolded you for running.
“Y/N, this is why we don’t run in the house. You know the rules, my love.” She said and kissed your forehead.
You offered a sheepish smile and Esme pinched your cheek. She made her way back to her cutting board to continue making the food.
“Now, what was it you wanted to say, darling?” She asked and finished adding her ingredients.
“You’re an interior designer but you’re also an architect, right?” You asked.
“Wow, your listening skills have gotten better, my love.” She jokes and grins at you.
You flush at her teasing, but continue on. “I need you to judge my work!” You told her.
Esme raises a confused eyebrow. “Work? Did you make a model of something?” She asks.
You laugh. “Yeah, kinda!” You tell her.
Esme smiles at you. “I’d love to, darling. But you need to eat first. You’ve been out of sight all day and I’m guessing you didn’t have any breakfast or lunch.” She says knowingly.
You pout. “But!-”
“No buts, Y/N. The food is almost ready.” She tells you. “Go sit at the table and I’ll bring you a plate.” She says.
You grunt. Why couldn’t Esme be less attentive? Why did you have to have such an amazing girlfriend who took excellent care of you, kept you out of trouble, and loved you unconditionally… Damn it. Never mind. She was perfect for you.
You sit down and Esme comes over with a delicious looking plate of food.
“This is chicken paprikash, Y/N. It’s a Hungarian dish.” She tells you and kisses your cheek after she puts the plate down.
You chuckle. “Well, it’s definitely making me Hungary! Haha, get it?”
Even though the joke wasn’t particularly funny, your cute face makes her giggle. “Yes, Y/N. That was very good.” Esme praises. “Now, what do you think?” She says and hands you a fork.
You take a bite and immediately melt. “Holy shit, that’s good.” You say as your eyes almost roll back into your head.
Esme clucks her tongue, disapprovingly. “Y/N, language.” She tells you and sits down across from you. She doesn’t like cursing, but she is also flattered you like it.
You laugh and apologize before you quickly wolf down the food. “Ahh, that really hit the spot, babe. Thanks.” You tell her and wipe your mouth before going over and giving her a kiss.
“I’m so glad, baby.” She beams, proud of her cooking.
You stretch before remembering what you wanted to show her. “Oh! You’ve gotta come see what I did! Come on!” You say excitedly.
“Well, lead the way, darling.” She says and offers her hand for you to take.
You grab Esme’s hand and guide her to the living room where the Sims 4 is still on.
You pick up the controller and gesture for her to sit.
Esme is confused that you are showing her a video game.
“I thought you said you made something, dear.” She says.
You exit the pause menu and sit next to her, letting her lean her head on your shoulder. “I did! Check it out!” You say and point to the little neighborhood.
Esme looks at the screen and chuckles. “Oh, now I see.” She says.
“I need your skills, Esme! Did I do a good job on the construction? This house has an open floor plan. Rosalie told me that’s what it’s called.” You say.
Esme nods her head. “Rosalie is right.” She agrees. “This is lovely! Look at all of the natural light you’ve got coming in.” She says and points to the windows.
You feel so validated. “You really like it?” You ask.
“I do, baby.” She says, fighting the urge to coo at how adorable you are. “Very good work.” She tells you and leans up to kiss your cheek.
“So, any suggestions?” You ask.
“Well, there are certain areas that need to be brought up to code.” Esme says, thinking.
You quirk an eyebrow. “Up to code? What’s that?” You ask.
Esme goes into a long explanation of building codes, and infractions, and violations… Your head is spinning not too long after she starts.
Esme sees the lost look in your eyes and chuckles. “It might be better if I just show you.” She says, reaching for the controller.
You watch in wonder as Esme is somehow able to figure out how to use the controller (To your knowledge, you’ve never seen her play or talk about video games before). She adds a few details that make the house look even better.
“Wow…” You say, admiring her handiwork. “This is great, but I’ve gotta say, it was pretty hot watching you game, babe.” You tell her and press kisses along her cool neck.
Esme lets out a stuttering breath at the affection and turns to you with a lustful look in her eyes. “It’s kind of getting me riled up, Y/N…” She pretty much purrs.
You immediately scoop Esme up and carry her to your bedroom, making her squeal and giggle in excitement.
Meanwhile, Jasper and Edward, who happened to be walking by just then, share a blank look at each other.
“I didn’t need to hear any of that.” Jasper says quietly.
“At least you didn’t hear what they were thinking.” Edward says, grimacing and shaking his head.

Your fem!Zoro AU is one of the hottest things out of One Piece fandom and I'm in love with Sanji's conflict and suffering at the hands of an oblivious Zoro. Do you plan on making more comics about them? Will Zoro turn back to being male?
Aahhh!! Huuugeee compliment, thank you!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes and yes! The end of May is when my schedule clears up, I would update those comics more often if I could, but I’ll be back to it soon enough and perhaps write a fic for scenes too long to draw for.
Zoro will turn back into a guy. That will probably mark the ‘conclusion’ of the series since at that point all the Zosan content would not be ‘AU’ and what not. I have one dialogue I’ll have them have when Zoro is back to normal but besides that it’ll be off my hands haha
Thank you so much, again! 🥰❤️😍😍

I read TSaTS, and loved every second of it
I disappeared from social media to do that, and seeing things now, apparently people are hating on the book??? I honestly have no idea why, and honestly, it makes me sad. I wrote those notes as I read it, and never felt the book was weak or messy, and I'll stand on that boat, 100%. I LOVE this book with my entire existence now, and what people are thinking about it won't affect that, I truly hope.
And I've been binge reading all of Riordanverse in the last month, so everything is fresh on my mind.
Anyways, I'll just leave the notes I did here while I read it. Of course, SPOILERS! I read it without getting even one spoiler, and that made the experience unique and much more enjoyable than others I had in the past.
• I LOVED the silly star war discussion in the beginning, even not quite understanding it xD It was so cute and genuine, maybe with some probably thinking it’s cringy!
• WILL TALKING ABOUT HIS PAST 🫶🫶🫶🫶 I really wanted to see more of him and his story, so they just there, chilling and talking about things, forgetting, even if for only a few seconds, how their situation is so cruel… It made me really happy! Hope they’ll be back soon to just relax and be cute… (haha...)
• I hope the tiny snippets about the water Nymph will have its own scene!!! I was dying to know how their love story start, so it needs its own full chapter!!! (now finishing it, that didn't happen, but the scenes got longer!!! So, victory!!!)
• Now the first POV switch (ch 10) …. Sus. Is pretty weird that the what they see does not seem reliable, and right after it each one of them shares a vision were they’re suffering, but the other one is being kinda “selfish”, and not like themselves. I totally think what they’re “living” is not true, but I don’t know when they stopped seeing things right, or what happened to them. Where? Weird. I do know Will wouldn’t just give up, “I can’t be here”, or Nico going “Coward!”. The POVs don’t match, and I’m CONFUSED.
• Of course it’s a demon! And I do think it hilarious how they’re discussing gender norms while the demon is trying to strangle Nico…,,, normal day, I guess? And Will immediately saying sorry to them like, LMAO
• Man, playing Hades and seeing Nyx like this on the Riordanverse is PAINFUL. She’s so gorgeous (STUNNING), calm and mother-like there. And she always has this kinda insane-y vibe here.
• Ah, “‘I’ll always be here”. There it is, they’re getting separated.
• AGAIN? “if Nyx wants your darkness so bad, you can just leave some of it with her! That wouldn’t be so bad.’”. IDK man, I’m thinking this will be more true than they think, I just feel it 😭😭 And more literal than that, too. (here I was thinking about Nico leaving his powers there. I was pretty wrong on that xD)
• I think that addressing Will’s irk towards the underworld is pretty important. I really like how both of them are on different, but pretty understandable sides. After everything we know about the UW, it’s hard to be open and accepting to it. Nico is super related to it, and he knows his father’s palace, so he has a completely different view of it. Will is all about life and light, so it should be even less appealing to him. Man, he NEEDS sun to live, it's literally part of his being. It’s easy to understand his side. But there are good people and beings living there too. It’s almost another universe. It’s Nico home, past, family and history. It probably hurts a lot to see his boyfriend being so contrary to it, basically negating a part of him, and kinda making his thoughts of Will “ignoring the “””bad and scary””” “ parts of him to be able to accept Nico hold place. It’s sad, hope this will get a good development and closure. Too bad I’m pretty sure it won’t be soon….
• Okay! The farm commentary! That made me sad. I think here Nico was a tiny bit too much. I felt the “People farm here?” from Will was genuine confusion. I would picture on my mind automatically growing crops underground. Hey, I killed (and it still saddens me) succulents by keeping them inside my no-that-sunlit bedroom. How would people grow things successfully on the underworld? That totally very much probably is not included in common sense! Will most certainly was not trying to stab Nico or the UW life, just would like some explanations.
•The Mythomagic story in Nico’s past 😭😭😭 The feels, I swear. It was pretty relatable, poor boy. And that was on the last century, too, and I can't imagine how hard it would be to deal with being queer at that age.
•But hey, is Will talking about Hermes’ card there? Does he play Mythomagic?? Do they together?? That would be cute as hell, I hope they do.
•The canoe scenes make me so happy! I loved SO MUCH how they put them in between some painful scenes. It made it easier to breathe and take on the hard parts. One of the things I wanted the most was the backstory of their relationship, and being given ALL the details like that was definitely not what I expected. They’ve been amazing, super super cute.
• And hey, Paolo is queer?? He’s one of my fave background characters, and I really liked that 🫶🫶 Nice rep for us Brazilians, I really appreciate that, lol Really missed seeing more of him! Seeing a mention on this book was unexpected, but nice! Hope he’s getting better at communicating with everyone, hahah
• I LOVE MENOETES! The way this book is showing the nice parts of the underworld too, on contrary of house of hades that was pure hOrOR and pAIN. It was not what I was expecting, and I totally appreciate it, it’s cute. And wait does he grow the nectar and ambrosia? That’s genuinely impressive. He's a pretty cool guy.
• BUT HEY, GERYON? Sorry friend, I’m judgin here. Do hope you’re right saying he’s a changed man……,,,
• Now Persephone’s Garden…. One more time, they’re showing the nice parts of the underworld, and that’s super interesting.
• And the Persephone’s scene? I LOVED it, I think it was so necessary. My image of her was kinda bad ngl, remembering about her older appearances. She seemed a little crazy. But at that scene, the way she spoke with fondness and clarity… It was exactly what Will needed to hear, and it makes me happy to see that she’s much more accepting of Nico. Good times.
• But Anphistemis? That was one hard scene. They getting separated and all, but the worst part was the chaos when they reunited, and how the poor guy was used. I totally see why Will did that, hell, I’d do the same or worse, when it comes to surviving. I just hope that that was not the last time we see Amphitemis.
• COCOA PUFFS!! I love them too!! I kinda thought they were cute since they first appeared, and that made me feel weird. Good to see that they really are nice and petable!!
• The last fight made me so anxious. I'm just happy it's over. I really wanted for Nyx to chill and find some other purpose at the end, but I don't think that would be believable. Kinda sad. And I always liked those children of hern on their other book appearances too!!! Especially Nemesis.
• Bob, oh Bob. He's precious. I truly like this crew SO MUCH. Him, Small Bob, Nico, Will and and the Puffs. They just finally relaxing, free. Oh, that was so rewarding. Good for them!
• I CRIED with Nico's dream. All of his family... That was so warm. Nico deserved that, I really loved it. And good to know Amphis was not forgotten!!
• Nico hugging Chiron!!!! Mr D. being actually super nice!!!! Aw really, I loved this entire ending too. Everyone happy, talking, healing. Endings make me worried, sometimes my judgment of the work changes completely if the ending is bad. This one? No. It was a super nice wrapping.
• PIPEEERRRR!!!! Nico and Piper friends ? I'm super behind that, I love them a lot. I missed Piper! And her talk was so genuine. Full of worries that are pretty relatable too. Very sweet, wish the best to her too. I thought it was me expecting too much to see Piper, but I'm glad to be proved wrong.
• I'm sad Bob already left... I hope it'll still be possible for them to meet sometimes, Bob deserves the best in this new chapter of his life!! While writing this I noticed I didn't mention anything about the trogs. I guess my main impressions about them happened already on Apollo Trials, hahah. But I like them a lot too!!! I was very happy to see they're happy building their little world and society, and making even tastier dishes. Hiss-Majesty is amazing too, and I loved their closure working at the farm xD
• Plus Nico and Will at the ending. Very heart warming moment. Their relationship is super healthy, and I do NOT believe in anyone who says the contrary. Both of them clearly saw where they failed, communicated about that, and deeply, honestly, said that they would seek to do their best. Isn't this the most important thing of it all? They're super happy together, love each others' presence, and looking at their future together fills them with hope. Man, they just left TARTARUS. And now they're stronger, filled with joy about what is to come.
And that's it. Been reading through some other people's thoughts, and well. Sometimes I even wonder if we read the same book. Like people saying the writing is the worst thing they ever read. I literally spent the last 3 days finishing the 3 last ToA books and this one. My friends, it was NOT that different. In particular, comparing to HoO, of course, because of the third person narration.
The only thing different for me was the direct approach about feelings, and about being queer too (probably thanks to Mark Oshiro), and I definitely enjoyed those. Probably because of seeing myself in them too.
I think people are being way too judgemental of Will. You can for sure say he was too impulsive when he was so determined and stubborn about going to a place that would be literally poison to him. But people complaining he was already drained before getting to Tartatus, as going though everything he did was easy? That place was his antithesis. I was actually shocked he didn't crumble at the first step into the Underworld. But he went through it, with Nico always on his mind. I don't know, I can't understand the hate. And of course they would not be bubbly and fun, they were going though HELL. Did anyone really expected them to be on their best there?
And I think both of them are very misunderstood characters. I was in the fandom for like, almost no time, thus, idk much about the fanon interpretation of them. But after everything I read about Nico and Will on the books, nothing felt out of place here, no. And it reminded a lot of ToA too.
All in all, awesome book, was even more awesome than what I was expecting, and I was totally not disappointed. I will hold this book dear, close to my heart, and I wish people were more accepting of it. There's even an anti tag for it? I made the mistake of scrolling through it (I'm the type of person that gets sentimental when people attack something I love), and yes, people definitely have different experiences while going through works.
