Another piece of my hotd tarot card series: Prince Jacaerys Velaryon! I really love Jace, he's such a great character, definitely my favourite member of team black, together with Rhaenyra. He's kind, brave and honorable and I can't wait to see his journey in season 2 especially now that he's got his gorgeous strong boy hair!!!

Oooh I love these types of questions!

Before fulling answering (because even I don't know straight off the bat) -

Neither were forced into the Dragonpit; meaning they had freedom, fresh air, room to grow and food to hunt when they pleased. If one had been in the dragonpit longer than the other, then the scales definitely wouldn't be balanced.

Although Quicksilver was always a bit of a small dragon, her size gave her great benefits. Sometimes being quicker is better as you're a smaller target.

However, Meleys does hold the title of fastest dragon (in her prime) in Westeros.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to the rider. Who is the most skilled? Who is bonded with their dragon so well that they can maneuver as one?

The answer has to be Meleys. Her riders were always fierce and committed.

With a rider who upheld the title of dragon rider with ferocious responsibility, Quicksilver would easily be my answer. But she never got the chance to be with someone for a long time.

If anyone has other opinions, I'd be happy to hear them!

Things were semi quiet for the chief as he sat at his usually spot in the Great Hall to enjoy a meal. Despite the noise around him he was able to tune it out unless there was something directed at him. The other riders around him were clamoring amongst themselves as they made their own plans for the day. He half minded theirs as he looked down at the hot meal in front of him.

Emerald eyes looked up as he heard his name being shouted across the Great Hall. Well there went that moment.

The riders surrounding him also stopped talking as they all watched Mari approach the table. Putting gear onto the table as Hiccup continued to eat his meal. Listening to what she had to say.

Only after had he finished the bite he had taken did he place his utensils down. "It's what I had planned. The females are done with their treatment so I was planning on moving them to their next homes. To work with them. Acclimate them to the other dragons." He picked his spoon back up and took another bite of his meal. It would be the only one he was going to be able to sit down for today. Too much to do. He was lucky Eret had agreed to take up the smaller duties for the day and he'd return around the afternoon to take care of the bigger ones that needed his attention.

"You should probably eat before they're out." He motions towards the center of the hall where there was still a decent sized line of people awaiting their own portion. Perks of being the chief. He got first dibs on food now.

Are the dragons in Game of Thrones supposed to be a metaphor for the masses?

So like. The bald guy who wears robes said "power lies where men think it lies" and one of the biggest things about the dragons is 'the dragons do not obey. Our control over them is an illusion.' And it's something that the current rulers are emphasized to need to grasp if they're to rule and to have dragons. (Ie Viserys talking to Rhyeanera). Dragons typically belong to the ruling family. Whoever has the dragons has the power.

On top of that, Dany, when she shows she is willing to risk dying for her love of her husband (the ruler of the dothraki), whats left of the dothraki with her rally behind her and her dragons are born at the same time. Her followers, her people, are the slaves who are devoted to her and the merchants who are vying against her respectively. But, there's very little focus on the social group between that. The masses who are not enslaved.

Tarot card of Aegon II Targaryen

I find Aegon and his relationship with Alicent especially, so very interesting and complex, but this phrase I saw here on Tumblr just about summarizes how I feel about this character "I like him the way you like to kick around a pebble on the pavement"

I decided to make this portrait using only shades of green to represent how Aegon is trapped in a role he didn't want and is not really suited for. I can't wait to see him on Sunfyre and to see what's in store for him in season two...

The third son of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Ser Laenor Velaryon, although his true father is Ser Harwin Strong. Many at court gossiped about this issue, pushing the Blacks and Greens further apart.

His mount was the young Tyraxes, smaller than his brothers’ dragons, Vermax and Arrax. During the Dance of the Dragons, Tyraxes could fly long distances with his rider but couldn’t fight in battle.

In order to quell the ever-growing gossip about Rhaenyra’s son’s parentage, Viserys decreed that each boy would have a dragon egg placed in their crib, and when they hatched, it would prove that they were of true Targaryen and Velaryon heritage.
