History Giants: Titanichthys clarki

Ti. clarki is among the largest known placoderms we have fossil record off, remains of their jaws, skull and shield bones are found scattered but some complete specimens offer a complete view of this peculiar and possible first large filter feeding vertebrate from the late devonian. AMNH 7315 or AMNH FF 7134 (IDK why the different ID from Engelman reference) represent one of the biggest known specimens recovered alongside the Moroccan Ti. termieri, having a head length of 75 cm and extended flat a breadth of 1.4 meters.

Engelman paper on Dunkleosteus body calculation used the measurements of this specimen alongside the smaller but quite complete CMNH 5768 implementing OOL giving on both specimens a body size of 3.7 and 4.15 meters respectively, making this one of the few placoderms that can rivalice in length to Dunkleosteus.

Reconstructing Titanichthys

If you are wondering about some details on this reconstruction looking this way, proportions, shape of the head and the strange "fang" on the front that lacks many recons is because I spend some time trying to check how to reconstruct properly this armored fish, which ended up with this skeletal reconstruction

This already comes from what I tried to do several months ago with the need to properly reconstruct this placoderm since the available figures and references seem not to expose several elements, even those that we do know exist which are not often highlighted in the paper skeletal reconstructions. in this case the base of everything is mostly from CMNH 50319, perhaps one of the most complete Titanichthys with material described online (scale bar 1 m)

I was not just comfy about doing this reconstruction based only in sketches, so instead on assuming proportions by digital sketches in a 2D way, I spend few weeks working my way into blender and modeling each pieces I did build a basic model from most of the bone that forms the whole skull and thoracic shield bones, the model for the moment is not available anywhere, and I don't think I could share it online for the moment.

Every minor thing that is not know is being filled with other of its relatives such as Bungartius and Tafilalichthys, both species the most close relatives on few cladistic trees. Unlike the filter feeder, these two are known to might have been hard prey eaters, they are relatively more complete and better preserved so they work out as a reference base being one of the most useful aspects the lacking elements of the jaw.

Probably is important to remark a lot of mounts that are used as references are pretty incomplete in the front, with also the lower jaw being backwards, the extreme of the jaws should be touching in V shape and the notch probably was filled with cartilage called a meckel's cartilage.

In general picking Bungartius as a sample the upper jaw possess the complete set of superognathal plates, the upper jaw bones that exist on all placoderms, in many species vary in size and shape, which even Titanichthys there is some evidence of a Posterior Supergnathal Plate along the complete specimen (PSG, see above), but not the Anterior (MG or ASG), inferring from the position of both supergnathal and the articulation of the cheek bone where the inferognathal fits, this hypothetically could mark how these bones configurated in the skull.

Eye with this, my reconstruction is speculative, based on how these bones articulates on other specimens, new evidence and more material could provide a more accurate conclusion.

Compared to Dunkleosteus is amazing that level of diversity these reached on the last days of the Devonian, both belonging to two totally different radiations of Arthrodira they grew to become the giants of their time, though currently with this body reconstruction Dunk remains very robust on body shape compared to the more compact shaped Titan.

Twisted Wonderland Saw AU Ask Time! 👀

Everything is perfectly set. Months of planning, preparing, testing, and many late night are finally paying their dues. Victims? Secured. Traps? Tested and will work without a hitch. Witnesses? Never been a problem. Now, time to sit back and watch what will... what's this? Why is their phone ringing? Who would call them at this...? Wait. They pale and scramble to dig their phone out of their pocket. Caller ID says "Yuu". Reflexes snap and the phone call is answered.

"Uh hello? It's me. We're still on for tonight, right?"

Tonight? They blink before everything rushes to their brain and the only coherent thought is, "Shit, I had plans with Yuu".

Please tell me... 1) What were their plans with Yuu 2) What is their excuse? and 3) How long do they keep Yuu waiting?

I am SO EXCITED to answer this ask!!!! (further discussion with Kim clarified that rescheduling is a last resort; the boys would much rather avoid it if possible, and I fully agree!) In the interests of this post not becoming an entire novel all on its own, I will be grouping the characters into their respective dorms and giving one response per dorm.

No explicit details on the traps in this one; I don't think there are any warnings I would put for this. The rest is under a cut simply because it is so long! Hope you enjoy :D

Heartslaybul:

What were the plans with Yuu: The plans were tea-time with Yuu's five Heartslaybul friends, and then a sleepover with Ace and Deuce. Trey is the only one who showed up on time, though Cater said he is on his way. Riddle is the one Yuu called, as it's very odd for him to be late.

What is their excuse: Riddle would have gone over his plans meticulously. There is no way he would miss anything that was written on his calendar for the day...except that he wrote "tea with Yuu" on the wrong date. He owns up to that mistake easily without letting on as to what he is currently up to (he's gotten much better at owning up to his mistakes and allowing himself to have human errors). He then says he is just out for a walk with Ace and Deuce, to cover for them as well.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: He tells Yuu it will likely be an hour as they "need to come back home and then get dressed in appropriate teatime attire" (Yuu doesn't question this, since they figure there probably is some rule about teatime attire that Riddle wants to observe).

Savanaclaw:

What were the plans with Yuu: Watching a Spelldrive Tournament on TV and having snacks together. Something cozy and casual. Except, the tournament comes on in 5 minutes and Yuu's Savanaclaw friends haven't shown up yet, so they call Ruggie (Yuu finds Ruggie to be the more responsible one when it comes to being on time, though it should be noted that Leona tries very hard when it comes to spending time with Yuu).

What is their excuse: Ruggie spouts some excuse about how some family stuff came up for Leona. Leona's trying to manage a crisis from a distance. They'll still be there, he says. It's a good excuse because Yuu is the kind of person to be understanding and not pry into the affairs of the Royal Family.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: Ruggie says Jack will be there in 10 minutes. Ruggie and Leona will follow when the "crisis" is dealt with. Leona makes sure the trap will be over in less than 30 minutes.

Octavinelle:

What were the plans with Yuu: Dinner and drinks after hours at the lounge, and Yuu would be spending the evening at the trio's home (firmly believe those three live together in this AU). Yuu shows up a little before closing time, but now it's last call and the waitstaff are starting to clean things up and it's creeping closer to the closing hour, and it's entirely unusual for Floyd to not have found them and hugged them by now...

What is their excuse: Azul answers the phone. The excuse he gives is "there was a disruption at one of our other locations in the city; and unfortunately it escalated to needing myself there to resolve it". Yuu understands customer service jobs well. They shudder to think what awful kind of customer must have caused such a disruption that Azul felt the need to go there with both Jade AND Floyd.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: Floyd advocates that they should completely abandon the trap and go find Shrimpy. He's upset that Shrimpy has been waiting so long for him and he wants to hug them immediately. Jade shows a bit more restraint but does suggest they move the trap up to tomorrow. Azul will not allow this; he insists it needs to be done tonight. However, he's willing to compromise. He sends Floyd and Jade to greet Yuu immediately and make them feel comfortable and happy, and he will oversee the trap by himself this time. He will join them when he arrives (estimated time for Azul: 2 hours. Less if the victim dies before then).

Scarabia:

What were the plans with Yuu: Going to a festival together. (Listen, your mafia au has given me Festival Brain Rot, lol). Yuu is ready to go, but Kalim and Jamil, who insisted on picking them up, aren't there yet...and they're worried plans have changed.

What is their excuse: Yuu calls Jamil. He quickly spins them some sort of tale of Kalim not being able to decide what to wear. At the same time, he uses Kalim's phone to text another worker for the Asim family and request they come to a location nearby to deliver festival clothes for both him and Kalim to put on, and for the car and driver to wait at that location for them.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: It's Kalim's trap, and he always has his designed to run from a distance so that he doesn't have to watch the person die if they fail. They can leave as soon as it is set up; so Yuu only ends up waiting twenty minutes. This time would not change much with Jamil's traps, as he makes inescapable ones, so it doesn't matter to him if the person makes it through or not. Jamil only has to step away momentarily to deal with the trap if the person succeeds and survives the trap, which he can easily excuse as some duty or other to the Asim family that he needs to manage.

Pomefiore:

What were the plans with Yuu: Spa night. It was going to be a really relaxing time for all of them.

What is their excuse: Vil is extremely upset with himself for forgetting (He stuck a sticky note to the calendar regarding something related to his acting work, and the note covered up the spa night with Yuu). He tells Yuu honestly what happened with the calendar. As the cover story, he says that he is just out with Rook and Epel on a walk.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: Vil doesn't want to leave the trap because he feels it's his responsibility. Rook volunteers to go and look after Yuu immediately. Epel would feel guilty leaving Vil alone, so he stays. Besides, Rook is better at lying than he is. He needs Rook and Vil to help him out if Yuu were to ask any questions. Rook tells Yuu that Vil and Epel are getting some groceries to cook a late dinner, and they are all back within an hour.

Ignihyde:

What were the plans with Yuu: Idia and Ortho were going to have an anime marathon with Yuu. Yuu is at their place, waiting outside to be let in. Idia actually receives the notification from their doorbell/surveillance system about half a second before Yuu's call lights up his phone. Luckily for him, all his traps can be managed from a distance.

What is their excuse: Idia makes up some excuse about misreading the time and going out to pick up a specific snack food he wanted to have for their marathon night.

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: They are nearly there instantly, just stopping on the way to buy a metric fuck-ton of snacks to add credibility to their story. Yuu only waits about 10 minutes. Idia checks on the trap periodically using his phone which is connected to the cameras, but Yuu is used to him checking his phone once in a while during conversations or movies since he plays a lot of video games with time-sensitive quests.

Diasomnia:

What were the plans with Yuu: Dinner and movie night together as a group. Yuu is hosting, but no one has arrived yet...did they get the date wrong? They call Lilia.

What is their excuse: Lilia tells Yuu a (far too detailed) story about how his lunch disagreed very much with his bowels and the other three were helping him out with getting medicine and lost track of time. They will be there shortly, sans Lilia who will stay behind for his "stomach troubles".

How long do they keep Yuu waiting: Malleus teleports there instantly, and he is deeply sorry (perhaps he kisses their hand in apology?👀👀👀). Silver and Sebek have to travel across the city. It takes them about 20 minutes. Lilia stays for the duration of the trap. He arrives about an hour later, claiming his stomach issues to have "resolved".

some highlights of my year: -got to see some of my all-time favourite bands; solar fake and depeche mode. i went to solar fake alone (and had a fabulous time) and went to depeche mode with my (now) ex who was very cranky and kind of made the night less special. but i ignored him and danced anyway lmao (i paid like $170 per ticket and he sat through the whole thing.. like ok) -i ended up breaking up with him a bit later in the year, which made me feel a sense of freedom to the point where i decided to shave all of my hair off (because he would constantly tell me not to). it was amazing and i dont regret it at all. -i had the most special birthday ive ever had, not only did i get to see other people on my birthday, but my friends went out of their way to make the day special for me. we went to the island and did lots of really fun things id never done before!! ive never had a birthday like that before and it meant so much to me -i got really close with one of my best friends this year, and then she decided shes leaving to live in texas with a man she met a couple of months ago. its been very hard for me, but im happy we got to spend so much time together this year. im going to miss her so much -i got my dream blackwork tattoo sleeve started AND finished, i only have 1 touch-up session left and then its completely finito! -i quit my job that id been at for 7 years, my boss was being really awful to me so i decided not to take it anymore and left. it was scary but i needed to leave and im glad i did -did my very first year of scare-acting, it was taxing and tiring, but it was also so much fun. if i can manage i'll probably do it again next year - i got a new job at a better store where my boss respects me and is not hostile to the employees. my coworkers are incredible and so sweet!! -i taught myself how to crochet -ive worked a lot more on my youtube channel and its been a ton of fun, im not a huge youtuber or anything but making videos has been a really great creative outlet for me!! a lot of terrible things have happened at the end of this year too, but im going to try to not focus on them because im honestly having a very very stressful time and kind of want to crawl in a hole and cry for a year straight.. hopefully next year brings me lots of good fortune!!

I didnt enjoy this nearly as much as the first book, so 7/10, i give my reasonings in the My Thoughts section. The writing is less clunky in the way its written, but the writing itself is, eh, its not terrible but its not book 1 standard.

My thoughts

Eh, 7/10, a lot of it was just frustrating to read. Im really not a fan of miscommunication tropes or whatever hypocritcal shit was going on between fire and grey. Im also getting really sick of spottedleaf, The cloudkit being brought in scene was bad and weird, and dustpaw's just an asshole.

I liked the mentoring scenes, the apprentices, and yellowfang. I quite like brokenstar and tigerstar, even if their both bastards, and my boy whitestorm is still well written. I like that the queens are good fighters, and how supportive princess is of her brother. We didnt see much of runningwind but im fond of him. They still havent explained why sandstorm warmed up to him so suddenly, but its only book 2

Overall, a bit of a sour one, i definitely prefer the first book, out of the two, and i still think fire and ice should've been the name for the 6th book

•Ok so first of i am a Huge fan of everything in the genre of fantasy (as a kid i was a huge fan of werewolf's and wizards)

•I LOVE to cook, painting and drawing and dogs and if I find a good book I'll read too!

He would quickly catch on that subtle hints that dropped about him liking you didn’t work, which he understood. He just didn’t really know how to go about confessing. Most likely he would bring you that new book you were talking about earlier. His tail would be wagging like crazy, even though he’s trying to keep it under control. “Sofia? Can we… can we be more than friends? Would you like to go on a date… with me?”

Jack agrees that you’re very sweet, and likes that you’re so open-minded. He also appreciates that you’re polite, and matches that energy. He would understand why you could seem cold and ‘cruel’ when someone teases or otherwise crosses a boundary, and he doesn’t blame you. If you wanted he could take you away from those people and you could play with his ears to destress. 

He makes sure to stock up on milk whenever he’s out, and he just gives you a soft chuckle whenever he finds you drinking it. May also join you, but only having a small glass for himself.

Jack would join you in the kitchen and would try his best to be a good kitchen partner, grabbing any ingredients that you needed for that recipe you were trying out. “You’re really good at this, love. Oh, need me to reach that for you? Here you go.” He does worry sometimes about being so much taller than you, but thinks your small features are cute.

He would keep note of any sensory icks that you have, and support you. He understands that making deeper connections can be difficult, but he’s there for you. “Hey, I like spending time with you. I love spending time with you. I love you. All of you.”

Jack would love to join in for any painting and drawing sessions you have, but would also respect you if you would rather not show him, respecting any boundaries that you have. But if you did show him, his tail would be swaying back and forth, and he would be looking at you, “Beautiful.”

He thinks your accents, and walking on your tip toes, are endearing and would ruffle your hair. He would try to talk in one of those accents but just shakes his head. You're better at it anyways, he just thinks he sounds silly.

He would be a bit embarrassed that you would probably like his wolf form so much, but would let you pet him, and if you were okay with it, he would love to rest his head on your lap while you scratched at his ears. He would do this often if you told him about your love of werewolves, even though he isn’t one himself.

Maeve: I have to say that we are both organized. We don’t really like disorganization.

Maeve: As storybook as it may sound, I think a part me of knew he was the one once we met. But what confirmed it was when I started to see his more vulnerable side. 

Robb: Same, I mean it was like I was struck in the heart when I first laid eyes on her. However seeing her being motherly to my siblings when they needed the comfort was when I knew she was the one.

Maeve: Everyday? I know how much he’s come to love honeyed chicken. 

Robb: Yes and I have you to thank for that. She loves anything honeyed. Honeyed chicken, honeyed duck, and don’t even get me started on lemon cakes.

Maeve: As he’s told me before his favorite color is the same green as my eyes.

aaa i just read your gonjo fic and its so good but heartbreaking in a way where gon knows how much yeong is choosing to go through for him 😭 id like to think that gon would comfort him in ways that doesnt make it obvious to yeong how much he knows about the training :') and exactly!! imagine how much gon is scared thru those 2 weeks where yeong is gone he'd be LOSING it. and yeong not being resigned about his end but resolved SO true ugh and thinking about gon hearing yeong's last words (1/?)

I need you to know my jaw literally dropped whenever i read "protect your captain. he's the future prince." LIKE CAN U HEAR ME ABSOLUTELY SCREAMING!!! you're so right UR SO RIGHT!!!! Like just thinking about how all of the guards would 1) do anything for their captain like wtf they love and respect and admire yeong SO MUCH and 2) they've been on edge for two weeks too and while they weren't privvy to yeong's final voicemail to gon, they know just by the fury and anguish on gon's face that things aren't looking good 3) and then gon says that?!?!?! and suddenly their captain is even higher on their protect list??? like it's literally their one duty to protect the royal family like oh my gosh the tension is delicious!!!!!!

about the little fic i read-- yeah i do think that while gon never explicitly mentions it or brings it up; he has eyes and he can see some of the issues yeong might have-- so maybe (in my take) his thigh aches when it rains and gon knows on days it's storming, he spends in his office or persuading yeong to play hooky and have a movie marathon or something.

and of course once they're together and the (perceived) barriers fall awy between them, gon has no issue with pampering yeong and showing his care in that way-- yeong gets flustered but he can't help but smile and they both love it.

and yes!! that's part of why gonjo just makes sense! gon and yeong are a unit and being prince consort would make it so that they literally never have to part. yeong would be such a good royal-- he's smart and ambitious and brilliant at strategizing. gon considers him an invaluable asset.

i do think that it would be difficult for him to reconcile not being captain anymore-- even if gon never stops referencing him as such (omg they've been married for twenty years and his secretary will be like "u have a lunch at noon" and gon will say "will my captain be there") (of course the new captain ho-pil has learned to distinguish when he's actually being referred to).

i think yeong would probably always carry a gun on him; i can't imagine him giving that up. and i'm picturing maybe the first time they're together and there's an incident (someone fires a gun?) and yeong instinctively tackels gon just for one of the guards to tackle them both and gon is both amused and endeared and incensed whie yeong is just like what am i supposed to do (ho-pil: let me do my job. sir.)

and i'm thinking about how meticulous and cold he would be when him and gon have children and he needs the guards to understand just how important protecting them are-- the new guards who didn't know yeong before he married gon would be literally shaking but ho-pil and in-young and mi-reuk stand up to the challenge.

and yes-- i love the SE dynamics so much and i think it translates so well into so many AUs!!! personally, i'd love to see a coffeeshop au where jaeyoung is a barista and sangwoo is a regular who always orders, like, an iced americano and jaeyoung makes it his mission to have sangwoo try fun drinks (and score a date in the process).

A Bible Devotional 21st August 2023

Life Is Good

God says that all He made is good.

GENESIS 1:31 NKJ 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The devil wants us to believe that life is bad.

(One way he tries to accomplish this is through all the bad news reported daily. Feeding too much on bad news is not good for you. You can get the top news stories without spending hours every day listening to the bad things the devil is trying to do in the earth.)

If you think life is bad, you will be depressed, or maybe even bitter.

If you think life is good, you will be thankful.

No matter what your circumstances are, there are always things to enjoy and rejoice about. If we focus on the goodness and greatness of God: all He has created and all He has done for us, life will seem good. If, instead, we focus on our pains and problems, we will not enjoy life much.

Even the bad things of life -- which are all the result of sin, not what God did -- can benefit us IF they cause us to draw nearer to God and act on His Word.

God's main purpose is to prepare us to be fit companions for Himself for eternity. (See Romans 8 -- we WILL be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.) What God wants you to do is submit to Him, feed on His Word, be thankful, walk in faith, and let Him make you like Jesus Christ.

God's plan is good.

Marriage is good. If we disobey God by husbands not loving their wives, and wives not respecting their husbands -- it can be bad. But only because we make the wrong choice, to disregard God's instruction.

Work is good. It is satisfying to do a job well and accomplish something. But when we don't do our work as unto the Lord, or try to make our jobs our source, worshiping and serving money instead of God -- work can be bad.

Family is good. Being surrounded by those you love and care for, and who love and care for you, is a wonderful blessing. But, when we fail to walk in love, and allow strife into our relationships -- it can be bad.

If your life is not good, then you need to make adjustments based on the Bible.

When you see your cup as half full, instead of half empty -- life will be better for you. Take time to smell the flowers, and rejoice in all the goodness of God. Rejoice in all the beauty of God's creation -- life.

1) other than with your f/o(s), how are your insert’s relationships with other characters like? have they made any close friends or enemies+ how did that happen?

Being part of the Guardians' team, she's pretty good friends with all of them. She can get into arguments with Q.uill once in a while, but usually they all get along. Before joining the team, she used to be absolute besties with OG G.root. She's also very close to N.ebula, due to all the time spent during the blip with her and R.ocket. Her only "enemy" for that matter would be my oc, Aeneas, but once he drops the "overthrowing the monarchy by marrying the princess" act, they become friends again.

2) what about their reputation, are they well known outside of their circle? what do others initially think or assume about them?

"Morgen Krantz, fugitive princess of Zteamer. That's a mouthful. " Most people see her for her princess title, assigning her the stereotypical traits of a princess (spoiled, arrogant, pretentious etc.) and even mocking or belittling her, reminding of the failure that her species had become. Those in the art world are more familiar with her interests, but still reduce her pieces and artworks to her name rather than actual skill. She is not hated, but most dont think highly of her either. Those who are familiar with her father or have business relationships with her planet respect her and try not to get on her bad side, so that they wont have to suffer the consequences.

3) what were your f/o(s) first impression of them? vice versa, what was your insert’s first impression of your f/o(s)?

He was rather annoyed at her inability to shut up. He felt bad for her somehow and didnt want to bring her back to Zteamer, as he realised she doesnt deserve to be deprived of freedom. But hell he was annoyed with her for the first few days. He obviously grew very fond of her and wouldnt let anyone dangerous hurt her, but it took him some time to accept her with all her quirks. She was incredibly kind and warm to him from the very beginning. She admired him and saw him as her hero for saving her - but she wanted to impress him and prove herself as a valluable member of his team. Her insecurity faded over time after they joined the Guardians, but she still wanted him to think that she was "cool".

4) what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) have in common?

Appearence! We look the same except for the eyes and maybe hair because i just got a really ugly haircut. But id say we look fairly similar :3

5) what’s one thing you and your self insert(s) don’t have in common?

Morgen is a vegetarian. I could never. I love shrimp too much. Also charcuterie boards and bbq and salmon and pork paté. I cant give those up, sorry girl.

6) what is your insert’s moral alignment?

Im not going to take the quiz because im lazy but from description only i'd say chaotic good? Just like Froggy

Errrr she is Morgen Krantz (actually thought about naming her Mörgen to differentiate it from the canon character named Morgan but i decided against it; i can only hope people understand its MY self insert.....), her age ranges from 17-32 (17 when she left her planet, she's 20 in vol 1 and vol 2, 24 in IW when she starts dating Rocky, 29 in EG, 32 in vol 3 etc), she's 150 cm or 4'11" and as for her abilities, she can deatach her arm and use it in battle, she wields weapons, she's reisistent to fire and lasers, and later when she gets stronger she can manipulate the starry mass she's made of in her favour (its hard to explain without visuals, leave me alone😭)

8) how would they spend their day to day in your f/os’ universe? do they have a job or any other daily commitment? a routine they follow?

She pretty much hangs out with the team exclusively. As a "job" she goes on missions with them; she also gets comissioned by other people for paintings or sculptures. I suppose she has her separate art hobbies, and she often attends events related to that or goes on cute little dates with her boyfriend, but you can find her most of the time on the spaceship or wandering around on N.owhere.

9) when does your insert come into the story and what part do they play in it? how do they fit into everything, and how does the story change with them involved?

Unlike Frogeru who actively changes the story (yeah the KG too - secret frogeru lore!) , Morgen is just an addition. Her story and specific events are just extras to the already existing one, because i really like it the way it is already (unlike..danganfart...). I just wanted to give Rocky another friend (and partner tehehe), who'd be there since the beginning.

11) when & how do they get introduced to your f/os?

After she escapes her planet on a random ship that visited her planet, she's found by two bounty hunters, R.ocket and G.root. Instead of taking her back home, they let her join their team, giving up the immense reward for her being brought back to her father in favour of her freedom. This was a few years before vol 1 happened. Her romantic feelings for Rocky start after vol 2 and their relationship gets official in the time between IW and EG.

12) what about their fashion & aesthetic? what kind of clothes do they usually/like to wear for the everyday, or when they’re all dressed up for some special event?

She's pretty dressed up all the time - she is a princess afterall. She's got her casual clothes too, but prefers being extra. Her clothes are quite fancy (and expensive), she loves frills, accessories, gloves and ribbons. Here is a link to her outfits sheet.

13) ^ is it anything practical you would wear irl, or is it a little unrealistic and purely for the sake of having a cool design?

I want and need to own all of her clothes. All her accessories are practical and serve some sort of purpose. And they are so cute♡

14) if your insert were to become a canon character, how would they be treated by fandom? do you think they would get misinterpreted a lot?

Maybe..? She has a few traits that can be considered self-centered, but I doubt she'd be overly hated for that. Im not very familiar with the intricacies of the m.cu fandom, i dont know what characters are liked or not, even when i was part of it id just look at fanart and ignore everything else💀i should learn from past me!!! I do like to think there would be cute shipping artwork of Morket ^_^ ♡ even if their romantic relationship wouldnt be canonized, it could be implied in the movies after IW. like subtle little nods to them being closer. I also want a quick forehead kiss in vol 3 ;^; for when he comes back and morgen is relieved that he is alive. Oh yeah the fandom uhhh i dont know. Morgen is still pretty new in my life. I know there'd be some idiots that ship her with her friend-enemy (Aeneas) just for that stupid trope, but i doooont like it. Morgen belongs with R.ocket and i want to think about edits, amvs and anime styled fanart of them!

16) what does their living environment look like? is it minimally decorated, messy or super high tech & futuristic? is it a place you could actually/want to live in?

I didnt think much about it besides the very basics. It would be very decorated, she has a bunch of interests, but it would be clean. Not necessarly organized, she would leave her art supplies scattered around everywhere, but you'd never find food leftovers, laundry or trash thrown around there. Relatively clean, full of personality, but a bit messy if she is feeling creative and is working on a piece of art.

17) does your insert have any family? (whether it be familial f/os, ocs, pets or people based off your actual family)

I need to answer this game with Frogeru too, her family is SO much more interesting than Morgen's😭 She's got her parents, Otis and Marie Krantz. No siblings or other known relatives. Otis loves his daughter a lot, but is A TERRIBLE person and leader. Marie is a lot more chill, but pretty absent in her life. She likes her daughter as a person, but she doesnt consider her as her child (even if she is). I will elaborate later. Morgen doesnt have an awful relationship with her mom, but its not the best. She's closer to her father, but thats not necessarly for the better. He wants her to be safe but goes to extremes for it (literally locking her up in the castle and not letting her have any contact with other people). When it comes to her relationship, her mom approves of it and supports it, while her dad is completely weirded out once he finds out ("MY DAUGHTER IS DATING A TALKING MONGOOSE?????") But its too late for him to do anything because he'd be in prison, close to dying at that point. I will elaborate later.

Day 357: Friday December 23, 2022 - “Brunch with The Grondins”

The opportunity to bring Grandpa to the best restaurant around came up, with the offer of a special breakfast pizza on the menu, and I couldn’t resist.  Took the drive down to Green Valley to spend the Friday morning brunching with Jane and Dave so that they could see “Dad” and nurture him for the holidays with coffee cake, shrimp, and stories.   The happy accident of having all this family around for Christmas, in a far off place in the desert.  The five of us, across four generations, interconnected family, branches of love and kindness and great respect. Neat to step back and appreciate that as Jane served Grandpa up with the first piece of the incredible hashbrown Breakfast Pizza. “I’ll need to come back so you can show me how to make this one too! wink*nudge” - so great for my soul to have all these steady hands in my life to look up to, and the chance to join them around the table.

William got to open his first gift of this Christmas, after weeks of us training him to leave the presents alone.   After all, its Free Range at Dave’s house!  Let er rip little buddy!  I helped as much as I could, and he gently pulled one piece off at a time and set it in a pile, as precious as we always say he is.  We helped him open the box and he immediately exclaimed one of his new words “Bus” - Awesome gift and great for me going into the weekend on my own - beautiful wonderful distraction.  He worked it with both hands on the car ride home.  By dinner, Id have all the jingles committed to my memory (in protest of course).

In the evening, I got William down to sleep, and enjoyed the cozy Christmas tree and the quiet of the house, thinking about how this was one of those great days - the spirit of Christmas....where we just enjoy the time connecting and sharing and being with good people.   And if we have the gift of that in our lives, what more do we need?  Keep it simple, and be a good person.   Enjoy gifts whether you’re 91 or 1 - simple ones like the pomegranate guac, and even the fancier ones that have buttons that sing! You can see the guilt on your bosses face, as he looks down at the round table before looking up and making eye contact with Derek, “As I said, I take full responsibility for the decision. If anyone has any issues, they should be directed toward me.”

You hold your breath and will for yourself not to wince at what’s about to come next.

“Any issues?” Derek’s voice hits your ear harshly, “Yeah, I got issues.”

Garcia gasps looking towards the doorway, where a brunette woman now stands, “Oh my god.”

Reid and Garcia are the first to move towards her, as the woman starts to tell them how sorry she is.

You watch as Derek seems to be stood in place, moving his gaze from your boss to the woman in almost a daze, before shaking his head and storming out of the room without saying another word.

You watch as JJ moves to go after him, calling his name, only to be stopped by Rossi, “Might be best if you didn’t.” He tells her gently, before he nods at you to go.

You feel everyone’s eyes on you as you stand from your chair and make your way out of the room. It doesn’t take you long to track him down, you know where he’s going.

You move down the stairs, to the bullpen, before going to the hallway, walking passed the elevators, until you make it to the fire escape door, the one Derek had Garcia turn the alarm off for so if it opens it wouldn’t go off, before slowly opening it yourself and finding him leaning against the railing.

He turns to look at who it was that followed him before turning back around, “Don’t tell me to go back in there.”

“Wasn’t going to.” You reply softly, going to stand next to him in the very small landing.

He side eyes you but doesn’t say anything, so you explains yourself, “You’re allowed to be angry. You’ve spent the last 7 months in pain, and grieving, over someone that was alive the whole time. You’re allowed to feel betrayed.”

He gives a heavy sigh, but doesn’t say anything so you continue, “So I’ll give you a minute, before I drag you back in there.”

“What?” He finally looks at you properly, “You expect me to go back I there?”

“Yes. Because we have a job to do. You’re allowed to feel what you are feeling but people still died, there’s a child in danger, and we need your help to finish this.” You place your hand on his shoulder, “Derek, you just found out someone you care for is still here, that’s better than the alternative. You’ve spent the past 7 months wishing you could’ve helped her, and now you get that chance. 1 minute.”

With that you turn and go back into the building, leaning against the wall by the door. 30 seconds later Derek comes back in, “You still have 30 seconds.” You remind him.

He just nods back down the hallway towards the bullpen, “We got a job to do.”

When you make it back into the conference room Derek goes and hugs Emily Prentiss, as you make your way back to your seat at the table. You feel eyes on you, looking around you nod at Rossi, letting him know everything’s good now, relatively, before your eyes land on your bosses. He doesn’t say anything, but he holds your stare until Emily Prentiss asks what is going on with Declan.

The speaker for the bored addresses you as he asks another question he already knows the answer to, “Did you or anyone on the team, suggest to inform the Baltimore police department?”

“No.”

“And why not? The last I checked it takes an hour to drive from headquarters to Baltimore. And I see your phones were working.”

You stare at the man, refusing to answer his non question of a question, waiting till he gives you a real one.

He does, “Is it in your professional judgment, that decisions were made, that were not only personal but reckless? And that the ones that made these decisions not only put innocent lives at risk, but the entire teams as well?”

“No, I don’t believe that to be the case.”

He did not like that answer.

“Care to elaborate, agent?” He harshly asks you.

If he didn’t like that last answer, he’s really not going to like this one.

“The risks made during the case were risks that had to be made. No one on the team would willingly put lives in danger. You are only upset, and questioning them, because you weren’t the ones to make the decisions.”

You can see he’s trying not to loose all control, and has to take, what you assume is supposed to be a calming breath, before speaking again, “You had only been on the team for 12 weeks before the suspension, is it not safe to say you maybe don’t have a clear judgment on how the team is run?”

You lean in towards the mic, making sure to not break eye contact, “Anyone that spends 1 hour with this team can see they are the best at what they do and are being run by the best person for the job. This team wouldn’t function properly without all of its members, that’s why I was asked to join it to begin with. It’s my, professional judgment, that you couldn’t ask for a better group of people, that are not only the top of their field, but are all still willing to work with you after you treated them the way you have.”

The room is silent for a few moments, before you are dismissed.

Your watching from the side as the team gathers around Rossi, who is removing Emily’s picture from the wall. You’ve gotten to know her better over the last few weeks of suspension, as Garcia has all but forced girls nights together every few days. You don’t mind all that much, it’s nice to have something to do besides sit around at home bored.

You see Hotch and Morgan talking over on the other side of the hallway, and know from your talks with Morgan, he’s still not over what happened. Though, you’ve also come to suspect him and Hotch had issues about trust, long before this incident.

Aaron Hotchner is a complete mystery to you. After the last case, right before you were all suspended, he introduced himself in a very short and stoic way. Not necessarily rudely, but definitely closed off. Then, the team was suspended and you didn’t see him again, till today.

From what everyone else has told you, it might take awhile for him to warm up to you. Emily and Garcia have practically told you everything you need to know about his life, and you can’t help but to feel connected with him on a level, only those who have lost a spouse, know.

Though, their gossip doesn’t actually mean you know the man, and you vow not to bring anything up that he doesn’t. You know what it’s like to what privacy, valuing your own.

Erin Strauss walks through the elevator doors, gathering you all to follow her into the bullpen, “The committee made it clear they will not support a rouge team,” She mentions you and Agent Prentiss, making eye contact with you both before continuing, “Both of you convinced them you are not that. They will be watching you closely.”

You see Emily release a shuddering breath from beside you as everyone looks at you both. The tension in the room evaporates, and as you make eye contact with the tall, now beardless man, across the room, you release a breathe of your own, before looking away to celebrate the victory with your new team.

Word Count: 2,300ish

Summary: You begin your intern year at Avengers Medical Center

You let out a little groan as you turned around. You immediately knew you were naked as the cold wood floor sent chills down your bare body. Slowly opening your eyes, you took in your surroundings. You were home, in the house you had just inherited, boxes still pilled high around the living room you were laying in. Suddenly, someone else groaned beside you. You teased, clenching your eyes shut. The headache you had been ignoring since you woke finally broke free and you realized that your late night drunkenness must have caused you to bring a guy home.

You let out a long breath as you reopened your eyes and looked over at the hopefully-still-asleep man beside you. He wasn’t bad looking at all. You had really done well. He was blonde with a chiseled body. He had to have been at least six foot, which didn’t hurt. He was naked though, all out in the open on your living room floor. Cringing, you sat up, pulling one blanket from the couch to quickly cover yourself before standing and pulling one over him. You stood up silently, and began making your way out of the room. It was your first day of your intern year as a doctor, you couldn’t afford to be late.

You successfully made it to the doorway of the living room without a sound before the floorboard beneath you creaked. You should there, frozen, closing your eyes in hopes that the man sleeping behind you wouldn’t wake. You could hear him turn over, letting a small moan out of his mouth. Waiting a few more seconds, you started going again.

“You know…” the man started, clearly in his morning voice, “it’s usually rude to disappear on someone after spending a night with them.”

You quickly spun around to see him, still laying on his stomach, looking up at you with a sly grin.

“Well,” you cleared your throat, “it’s my house, so it’s not that rude.”

He stood up, not grabbing the blanket as quick as he should have, letting you have another look at him. When you met his eyes again, it was clear that you had been caught staring and that he was enjoying it.

“Why the rush to silently get out of here?” He asked, tucking the blanket around his waist. “Have a husband or a boyfriend you have to hurry and get ready for?”

“Neither,” you responded, tightening your hold on the blanket covering you. “I’m running late for my first day of work. So, if we’re done here, you should go.”

“We don’t have to be done here.”

“I think we do.” You kicked up his shirt, grabbing it, and throwing him at it. “You need to go.” He caught his shirt, slipping it on slowly over his clear cut abs. “So, um, goodbye… um…”

“Steve,” he reached his hand out.

“Steve. Right,” you shook his hand. “Y/N.”

“Y/N.” He smiled. It almost took your breath away, but you couldn’t let it show.

“Yeah.”

“Nice meeting you.”

“Yeah. Bye, Steve.”

You fled up the stairs, hoping that by the time you were done getting ready, Steve would be gone.

You made it to the Avengers Medical Center just in time to meet up with the other interns in your year. The Chief of Surgery, Dr. Nicholas J. Fury, was leading a small tour to the ORs. He started talking as the interns took in the OR.

“Each of you comes here hopeful. Wanting in on the game. A month ago you were in med school being taught by doctors. Today, you are the doctors,” Fury stated. “The seven years you spend here as a surgical resident will be the best and worst of your life. You will be pushed to the breaking point. Look around you. Say hello to your competition. Eight of you will switch to an easier specialty. Five of you will crack under the pressure. Two of you will be asked to leave. This is your starting line. This is your arena. How well you play? That's up to you.”

He then told each of the interns which resident they were assigned to. You got Dr. Gamora. All of the interns were then taken to the locker room, where each of you were assigned a locker and given scrubs to change into and start your long day.

“Only ten women out of thirty,” you muttered as you slipped your scrubs on.

“Yeah,” the woman with fiery red hair next to you responded. “I heard that one of them was a model. Seriously, like that’s going to help with the respect thing?”

“You’re Natasha, right?”

She nodded. “You’re Y/N?”

“Mhm,” you hummed.

“Which resident did you get assigned to? I got Gamora.”

“Me too.”

“You got Gamora?” A male intern repeated beside you. “So did I. At least we’ll all be tortured together, right? I’m Clint Barton, uh, we met at the mixer. You had a dress with a slit up the side, those shiny heels…” You and Natasha exchanged looks. “Now you think I’m gay.”

“Uh-huh,” Natasha hummed, heading out the door.

“No, I’m not gay! It’s, ah, it’s just that, you know, you were, I mean… You were very unforgettable,” Clint rambled as you both followed after Natasha. You shot him a sympathetic smile before hurrying to catch up with Natasha. “And I’m totally forgettable.”

“Barton, L/N, Romanoff, Valkyrie, Lang,” a doctor called at the door way.

“Gamora?” Natasha questioned that doctor that called you.

“End of the hall.”

The five of you that were called began walking. At the end of the hall, you saw a pretty woman working on paperwork. She didn’t look as threatening as you had heard she was.

“That’s Dr. Gamora?” Natasha wondered.

“From what I heard, I thought she’d look scarier,” the other male in your group of five said. You guessed it was Scott Lang.

“Yeah,” Clint agreed. “I thought she’d be… well, bigger.”

“Same,” you added.

“Maybe it’s professional jealousy,” a woman in your group suggested, Valkyrie, you presumed. “Maybe she’s brilliant, and they say things about her because they’re jealous. Maybe she’s really nice.”

“Please don’t tell me you’re the model,” Natasha said.

“Wait…” Clint said, looking at Nat. “I thought you were the model.”

Valkyrie shot Natasha a look before turning to Dr. Gamora with an extended hand. “Hi, I’m Valkyrie, but everyone calls me Val.”

Gamora looked her up and down, not even moving to shake Val’s hand. “I have five rules,” Gamora stated, clearly unimpressed already. “Rule number one, don’t bother sucking up, I already hate all of you, that’s not gonna change.” She turned and pointed to things on the counter. “Trauma protocol, phone lists, pagers. Nurses will page you, you answer every page at a run. A run, that's rule number two. Your first shift starts now and lasts forty-eight hours.” 

Gamora began walking away with you and the others quickly following, after each of you have grabbed the things off the counter. 

“You’re interns, grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain, you run labs, write orders, work every second night till you drop and don’t complain!” She continued. Gamora led you to a door, opening it to reveal a room with bunk beds. “On call rooms. Attendings hog them, sleep when you can, where you can, which brings me to rule number three, if I'm sleeping, don't wake me, unless your patient is actually dying. Rule number four, the dying patient better not be dead when I get there, not only would you have killed someone, you would have also woke me for no good reason, we clear?” There was a brief pause before you nervously raised your hand. “Yes.”

“You said five rules,” you tried to hold back a cringe as you spoke up. “That was only four.”

Suddenly, Gamora’s pager beeped. “Rule number five. When I move, you move.” She ran down the corridor, followed by you and the other interns. “Get out of my way!” She yelled at a few doctor’s blocking the hallway.

You had the others followed Gamora to the ER. There was a bustling trauma room that the six of you entered. There was a young female on the stretcher, already being hooked to the machines.

“What’ve we got?” Gamora asked.

“Savannah Chase, fifteen year old female,” the paramedic still in the room stated. “New onset seizures, intermittent for the past week. ID lost en route. Started gran mal seizing when the ambulance pulled up.”

“Alright, get her on her side, Val, ten milligrams Diazepam.” Val started to do as she was directed while the rest of you watched. “No, no, the white lead is on the right, righty whitey, smoke over fire, a large bore IV. Don’t let the blood haemolyse, let’s go!”

Val injected the young woman with the diazepam and she stopped seizing. A new Doctor entered the room.

“So I heard we got a wet fish on dry land?” The man asked.

“Absolutely Dr. Banner,” Gamora responded.

“Dr. Gamora, I’m gonna shotgun her.”

“That means every test in the book, CT, CBC, chem seven, a tox screen,” Gamora clarified for the interns. “Natasha, you’re on labs, Clint, patient workups, Y/N, get Savannah for a CT, she’s your responsibility now.” Gamora began to walk away.

“Wait,” both Val and Lang called out. Gamora turned back around.

“What about us?” Val asked.

“You two—honey, you get to do rectal exams.”

You were currently in an elevator with Savannah, the patient, trying to find your way to CT. Since it was your first day at the medical center, you didn’t know where anything was and you were too stubborn to ask.

“You’re lost,” Savannah stated.

“I’m not lost,” you defended. “How are you feeling?”

“How do you think I’m feeling? I’m missing my pageant.”

“You’re missing your pageant.” You wheeled her out of the elevator and around a corner, still not knowing where you were headed.

“The Manhattan Teen Miss? I was in the top ten after the first two rounds. This is my year. I could’ve won.” Savannah sat up as she was wheeled back around the same way. “Hello? You’re so lost. What are you, like, new?”

“I’m— just tell me what happened.”

“I twisted my ankle. I do rhythmic gymnastics, which is like, really cool. Nobody else does it. And I tripped over my ribbon, and I didn't get stuck with someone this clueless. And that was like, a nurse.”

You gritted your teeth, trying not to be over-the-line rude to a patient on your first day. It took you almost another forty five minutes to find CT. You helped her with the scan before taking her back to a room. Before you knew it, it was lunch time. You grabbed some food from the cafeteria, finding your group of interns alone at a table.

“Savannah Chase is a pain in the ass,” you grumbled as you sat down with your tray. “If I hadn't taken the Hippocratic oath, I'd Kevorkian her with my bare hands.” The others around her just stared. “What?”

“Good afternoon interns,” a new doctor came up. “I’m Dr. Maria Hill. It’s posted, but I thought I’d share the good news personally. As you know, the honor of performing the first surgery is reserved for the intern that shows the most promise. As I’m running the OR today, I get to make that choice. I’ve been watching you all and I have to say, you’re all something. The intern I’ve chosen is, Scott Lang.”

Scott coughed up the drink he had been taking. “M-me?” He questioned.

“You’ll scrub in for an appendectomy this afternoon. Congratulations.” Then she left.

“Did she say me?”

“I can’t believe you were chosen over me,” Natasha grumbled. “It’s already clear that I’m a better surgeon that you.”

“Did she say… I’m sorry. What?”

After lunch, you went back to Savannah’s room to take care of her. As you did, a man and a woman, not doctors, came in.

“Savannah, honey, mom and dad are here,” the woman said, coming over to Savannah’s bedside.

“They gave her a sedative for the CT scan, so she’s a little groggy,” you informed them.

“Will she be alright?” The mother asked.

“Our doctor at home said she might need an operation, is that true?” The father wondered.

“What kind of operation?”

“She’s, um, well, you know what,” you tried your best to sound professional through your nervous stuttering, “I’m not, I’m not the doctor, uh. I am a doctor, but I’m not Savannah’s doctor, so I’ll go get him for you.”

You quickly left the room to go find Gamora. Thankfully, she was at the nurses desk just outside of the room. You hurried over but were too nervous to start speaking.

“What?” Gamora questioned, not looking up from the paperwork she was doing.

“Savannah’s parent’s have questions,” you responded. “Do you talk to them, or do I ask Banner?”

“No, Banner’s off of the case. Savannah belongs to the new attending now, Dr. Rogers, he’s over there.”

You follow in the direction that Gamora gestured to. You only made it a few steps before freezing. The man Gamora gestured to was talking to another doctor. But that wasn’t the reason you froze. Dr. Rogers was none other than your one night stand, Steve. Your eyes widened and you turned to go, but it was too late. Steve glanced your way, having to do a double take. You quickly left, feeling his eyes on the back of you.

“Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit.”

Sakusa Kiyoomi

okok i know its like common for sakusa to be shown as not interested in PDA (in private or public) unless hes feeling "needy"

BUT i believe that after a few weeks, maybe months if he's still unsure, he would definitely be much more comfortable with PDA

like, if its been a long time and your both serious about it and not just in a relationship to be in a relationship he starts to notice your routine

he notices the changes you make so that he's comfortable and so that you can be close to him without him being worried about icky yicky germy wormys (someone take away my thought privileges)

so now that he knows that you take care of your hygiene and exactly what you do for it, slowly he's wrapping an arm around you in 30° heat while you're both sweating

slowly he's "forgetting" his mask in the car for dates

slowly, but surely, he understands that a little bit of exposure, isn't a bad thing.

"kiyoomi?" your voice brought sakusa's eyes to yours where he could see the concern behind them.

"are you okay y/n?"

you'd decided, after three weeks of intense training and barely seeing your boyfriend, that you wanted just one day and one night with him. just the two of you, you know he'd never admit it, but he needed a break.

after atsumu decided to try out some new plays that didn't start off to well, sakusa had been silently groaning everytime he had to reach for something. he was excellent at making sure he wasn't overworking himself, and he wasn't, its just that the human body is an absolute wonder, and not in a good way. sometimes things that should have mildly injured you, left you with a tiny scrape, or a bruise or a very quick-to-fade red mark, and sometimes you drop a phone on your face and break your fucking jaw.

you offer him a gentle smile that completely washes away the concern in your eyes.

"im fine omi! but you," you reach your hands up to rest on both sides of his face turning his head side to side, studying it intensly.

"you're looking a little pale. and possibly grey."

"how do you mean y/n-chan?"

for such an intelligent man sometimes he really could be a himbo.

"i mean that i think you might be sick, baby."

sakusa stared blankly at you, as if he couldn't fathom the possibility of 'himself, sick?'

"omi? kiyoomi!" you nabbed his attention, "i think you're sick, and we best go home."

"but-" he started, but you were quick to cut him off knowing exactly what he was about to say.

"kiyoomi, it's inevitable. even if you were the worlds most decked out with ppe, and the worlds leading force in hygeine, you'd still end up catching a cold at least once. that's just how the world works baby. and don't worry about the date, all i want is to spend some time with you."

you ended up practically dragging your sad little puppy of a boyfriend back up the complex stairs and into his unit before settling him on the couch and getting to work.

"ill get you some water, you just sit here and relax. i don't want to think about what would happen if those dumbasses didnt have you there next week, bokuto and hinata would probably crack their skulls!" your attempt at a little light hearted humour helped sakusa forget for a moment, but he was quick to go back to not understanding how he was sick.

"thank you." he took the glass from your hand and rested it between his legs, when he noticed the rubber gloves you had clutched at your side. he knew what they were for, those were his cleaning gloves.

"what are you doing? you can't stay you'll..." he paused. "you'll get sick too."

"i'll be fine omi-omi! you just relax and drink lots of water, ill take care of this." you turned towards the wall with a soft smile before muttering, "ill take care of you."

sakusa watched you clean, the bucket full of diluted bleach, the duster, a cloth, and his cleaning gloves. he loved the way that they were too big for you, the way you kept having to pull them up every so often to keep them on. he loved the way that everytime he finished his glass of water, you were right there to fill it back up.

you don't even remember seeing, or hearing him lift himself from his spot on the couch and make his way over to where you were humming and covering the counters in the diluted solution. you felt a pair of big arms wrap around you, a chin on your shoulder and a kiss on your cheek.

"thank you, y/n. i love you."

thank god he caught a cold, or he might never have realized just how lucky he was.

Iwaizumi Hajime

family man

is a family man but not just ANY family man

yes, it's important to him that you like and respect his parents and vice versa

but its just slightly more important to him that you get along with his friends, his found family because im a SUCKER for the classic lilo n stitch trope

he knows that many people say that its his life and he doesn't need anyones approval etc.

but iwaizumi believes different, he believes that he doesn't need approval in the literal sense but rather approval through watching you interact with his friends and his family and how you do your best to learn about them and make time for them, even though you dont have to

and he thinks it's absolutely enthralling

the way your eyes light up when you see that book his mom has been talking about wanting to read and picking it up with no hesitation

how you're able to almost flawlessly keep up with issei and takahiro's antics while also making sure they don't go too far, something even iwaizumi struggles with

and most importantly, how effortlessly you connect with his childhood best friend.

there were many things that Iwaizumi Hajime enjoyed, volleyball, athletics, godzilla of course, spending time with three dumbasses (but he’ll never admit that) and a little while ago, he added you to that list.

you were so effortlessly able to connect with his team, his friends, and his family but most importantly, the way you were able to connect with Oikawa brought a smile to his face.

“oh, iwa-chan~, what are you admiring?” there he went again, Iwa thought, Tohru Oikawa’s dumb smirk and hyper awareness of his team, both on and off court. how he wated to head-butt him in the face. but, he showed restraint. after all, he wouldn’t want loserkawa to use you as a human shield from his head. so, he ignored the urge. but it passed as soon as he saw tohrus arm arond your shoulders, crossed feet and leaning on you ever so slightly while he took a few occasional swigs from his water.

and just like that, the incredible restraint vanished like morning mist.

you could practically see the steam coming off of his hot skin, and the vein popping out of his forehead, when you noticed what had him so heated. “trashykawa get your filthy hands off of my girlfriend!”

“excuse me!” he pouted, “my hands are clean and tailored! just like any responsible setters would be!” he stuck his lip out farther and gave you his irresistable puppy-dog eyes. “y/n-chan, i’m not filthy! am i?” he whined.

and, as the word suggests, his look was truly irresistable and you stumbled over your words. “n-no! of course not tohru!”

“see, iwa-chan! y-n thinks i’m squeaky clean!” his dumb smirk appeared again, and rather than continue with flirtykawas obvious games, Iwa opted for the less violen approach.

“don’t flatter yourself, dirtykawa. she’s just being nice.” he growled. “I’m done for the day, i have a project due. y-n.” he offered his hand to you like the gentleman he is not forcing you to take it, but the look in his eyes told you that he wanted you too.

“see you later, tohru!” you gave him a quick hug and intertwined your fingers with iwa’s.

now, technically, girls aren’t allowed in the boys locker room but since it’s after hours and just you and iwaizumi no one cared. to be fair though, literally no one knew except the team so, whatever you didn’t complain you got to watch yout ultra ripped boyfriend change. quality time. you thought, when you noticed him mid-change with his shirt over his head, resting on his arms. as any good girlfriend would, despite the devil on your shoulder, you came up behind him placing your hands on his seriously broad shoulders. taking notice of the tension, you started to work at the muscles. your care was quickly rewarded with a quiet sigh, and relaxed shoulders.

“hajime?” you continued rubbing at the tight fibers, “are you alright? you’re usually the one telling me im holding too much tension.” you giggled and he turned to face you placing one hand against the side of your face.

“hajime?” it came out shaky and worried.

“i’m okay,” he smiled “it’s just,” hesitation. he was never one to hesitate.

“i know i have no right to be but seeing oikawa so clingy with you it just, i dont know, it really gets to me i guess? he, just, he gets all the girls, all the attention, and i don’t want to-” you stopped him.

“sweetheart, it’s okay to be jealous or upset i’m not going to be angry, you have a right to your feelings. I understand how you feel, i never mean to flirt with him, if i ever have, i mean i don’t know, you know how bad of a flirt i am,” he chuckles at that. “it’s just that i know how important he is to you and you are so, so important to me and i want to be able to understand whats important to you, so you never have to choose between us, because that wouldn’t be fair. i love you, hajime iwaizumi, and everything about you.”

you expected him to be shocked, hell, he thought he would be shocked when or if you said it, but he wasn’t. and that’s exactly how he knew what to say next.

“i love you too, y/n l/n.” pressing a soft kiss against your lips.

“geez, it only took you two a century and forever.” someone snarked.

hajime chucked a towel at him “get out assykawa!” and he did, he bolted through the door laughing like the demon matchmaker he thought he was.
