#ill dive into their lore later

Note
you ask for Fontaine brain rot/reqs, I deliver.
So idk if you've done the recent archon quest and lyney/lynette story quest so if you haven;t be careful caus i will be spoling !
SO
That part where Lyney is freaking out over Freminet and Lynette had me SCREAMING especially since ive done their story quest AND ALSO FRIENDSHIP 10 LYNEY SO I HAVE THE LORE AND IT HURTS SM but I won't spoil all that for u-
so anyways, i started thinking, imagine Lyney has a lover who's been with the siblings for years (and also works for Arlecchino) and is considered another sibling by Lynette and Freminet. They were also diving with Freminet when they encountered water from the primordial sea
now imagine clorinde can only take one person with her at a time when she pulls them back, and she saves Freminet first, later going back for Lyney's s/o
Eventually Freminet wakes up like he does in the quest, but the reader just.. doesn't. Hours pass and the siblings are freaking tf out because they don't want to lose anyone.
(now I can't decide if I crave angst or if I want to comfort my babies so ill give my headcanons for both shiguegoe)
angst: Lyney's lover keeps deteriorating, parts of them gradually turning blue and quite literally withering away (caus you know the water and the dissapearances- yeah-) and the siblings can do nothing but watch
Lynette shuts down more frequently and for longer periods, not even saying anything to Lyney
Freminet blames himself for not noticing sooner, for not getting them out sooner
And then there's Lyney.. he blames himself for not only putting his siblings in danger, but losing his lover...
He sits by their bed watching as they wither away, holding their hand. He knows Father will be upset by his lack of comitment to the mission but he can't bring himself to care
The day they pass, no one says a word. They continue with their mission, report to Father, go on with their Fontainian lives until they're alone and they cry. they cry and scream and curse whatever archons or god's are listening.
AND NOW BEFORE I CRY THE HAPPIER VERSION
After days of not waking up, they finally open their eyes.
Lyney is fretting over them asking if they know where they are, who he is, what happened etc
now to throw in a tidbit of angst, what if they awoke with some disability? like they cant see anymore, they can't hear properly, cant walk properly etc
Lyney and Freminet would devasted because they blame themselves. Lynette would be quick to remind her brothers at least everyone is alive.
It'd be bad because with a disability, they can't work for Father anymore, or at least not the way they used to
AHHEOGUHEOG im stuck in a neverending brain rot my guy
Anyways. I was actually going to request for you to write your own take on this but you don't have to if you dont want- even just hearing your take would be nice lmao
also if its ok i reallly wanna be mutuals! I just found you blog and im obssesed!! I really wanna be friends<3
Tumblr media
NO BECAUSE I SCREECHED SO LOUD MULTIPLE TIMES READING THIS !! THANK U SO MUCH YES OFC I WANNA BE MUTUALS/FRIENDS!! genuinely absolutely made my day to have u ask that oh my god??
also don’t worry about spoiling anything for me, i’ve read every little bit of lyney/lynette/freminet lore out there 😭 and i’ve done all of the new fontaine archon quests already (i need help. it’s okay though!)
as for angst — u know me so well already this is my forte. cracks knuckles here i go
Tumblr media
freminet feels as if something is off.
already beginning to panic, he turns to you in a hurry. the water swishes in his ears. when you meet his gaze, wide-eyed, the gut ‘feeling’ turns into a full-blown punch to it. oh, now he realizes; he can’t breathe. his heart’s racing, chest tightening and throat feeling as if it’s closing up.
you reach out, and exchanging unspoken words, you two turn around and make to retrace your patterns with haste. hand in hand, you race against frittered time; but even your best efforts are not enough, and the both of you are forced to acknowledge it when freminet’s vision begins to turn spotty.
he got in the water first; he’s gone before you are. his body floats limp beside you as you drag him along through the water, even as the surroundings grow hazy for you, too. a cold tingle runs up your spine as you consider the possibility; is this the end?
(when you had left for the pipes, the most you had exchanged with lyney was a quick kiss on the cheek as a goodbye. that wouldn’t do.)
but even as you try desperately to cling to life .. the “sea” is a cruel thing, and it does not care for your mortal frivolities. (a proper goodbye? .. foolish.) with cold, disorienting water enveloping your senses from all sides, your only grounding thing being freminet’s (rapidly cooling) fingers against yours — it didn’t take long before you succumbed to the “sea”, too.
(your last thought as the world went dark was “i’m sorry.”)
(even in your barely conscious state, you feel another wave of panic surge through you when freminet’s fingers slip away from yours — but you don’t have enough energy to hold on.)
Tumblr media
reader lives:
the incessant thrum of the water rushing through pipes rattled in your ears. your whole body was sore, weak and tired; and all of your limbs felt like lead attached to you via shoddy workmanship. your head hurt like hell, and what’s worse is that the moment you opened your eyes, you were immediately met with the sight of the three people you cherished most.
first, there was freminet, who was sitting on the bed opposite to yours. his posture fixes from a slouch into proper the moment he spots you, perhaps in.. excitement? shock? you weren’t sure. his eyes lit up, though.
second, there was lynette. she was .. a bit more on edge than usual. that was .. to be expected, of course, but really. you were out for.. what, an hour or two? come on, all four of you put yourselves in danger all the time. what was different about this?
(what was different was the fact that you were not out for an hour or two. no, make that days. they were sure to remind you of this.)
then, there was lyney. for him, the world seemed to stop.
lyney, who was pacing the room in sheer desperation. he walked and walked, boots timed and in tune with the clocks and dripping water from the pipes. in his nervousness, he had unwittingly created a quite fitting melody.
(the only sounds once he ceases walking are the clocks and the water dripping from the pipes.)
lyney, who had rushed to your bedside the moment he had noticed you were up. he looked exhausted, but the second you were awake the mask was .. attempted .. to be put back on. however .. it didn’t take someone as observant as you, or even one who knew him so well, to notice that it was placed crooked.
(how absurd he looked, trying to put on a front everyone in the room knew was one.)
why, even, you would have bet that it could’ve been surmised by a child. once again, emphasis on ‘you would have’, for there was no time for thinking about that when he rushed to your bedside and enveloped you into an embrace. you didn’t miss the way his fingers grasped at the back of your shirt in downright desperation.
(in clear, bold letters, it reads; “if nothing else, please let this be real.”)
he slots himself beside you and, wordlessly, holds you close. he doesn’t need words — neither of you do. this is enough.
lynette and freminet looked on, neither of them opening their mouths when lyney buries his face into the crook of your neck and stays there for just a bit too long. he doesn’t cry. instead, he whispers shakily against your skin; “i thought i’d lost you.”
(the only sounds once he ceases speaking are the clocks and the water dripping from the pipes.
(no one speaks up just yet.)
(the only sounds in the room are the clocks and the water dripping from the pipes.)
(you’re starting to think those were the only sounds ever there.)
when he finally pulls away, you notice he’s fixed his mask. lyney now smiles, and the shake in his voice is gone; but you know it’s not all better, not when he refuses to leave the infirmary even after sigewinne and the traveler inquire. you know it’s not all better, not when the four of you are alone again. lyney sits beside you on the bed, refusing to so much as stand up (he doesn’t want to let go of your hand. you don’t comment on it, but his fingers are still shaky as he holds onto yours like they’re a lifeline.)
you don’t exchange as much as a single word after that. you just bask in each other’s presence, apologies and pleas and “i love you” shared during every lingering glance between everyone in the room.
the four of you don’t need words. this is enough.
Tumblr media
reader dies:
seven mistakes went unnoticed. seven signs went unfollowed. seven things (and five people) went wrong that day.
one: freminet.
it was entirely freminet’s fault, he thinks, it was. if only he had gotten you out of there in time. no — he shouldn’t have even brought you. he sits on the infirmary bed opposite to yours, knees pulled up to his chest, and he clutches pers with a death grip. he dips his head in such a way that his face is hidden with his hair; he doesn’t want to let lyney and lynette see him in this state. they have enough to deal with.
two: the primordial sea.
but they were bound to notice eventually, right?
“it was entirely the primordial sea’s fault,” lynette would remind, hand on freminet’s shoulder. “it wasn’t yours.”
the primordial sea. the cold and vicious waters were such a contrast to those he held so dear; what was typically calming and merciful turned to something suffocating and terrifying. but that didn’t change the fact that it was an inanimate thing.
he drops pers at the contact; it clatters to the floor; he looks down, wide-eyed and apologetic; he reaches down to pick it up. lynette does not put her hand on his shoulder again.
three: wriothesley.
“it was entirely wriothesley’s fault,” lyney wants to scream. he’s frantic, pacing the infirmary and voice cracking every time he speaks. lynette and freminet have seldom seen him so panicked. he needs to do something, he needs— he can’t. he can’t leave. once he gets his hands on wriothesley, he swears he’ll—
four: clorinde.
it was entirely clorinde’s fault. it was entirely her choice to pick only one of you to save. no one can bring themselves to be upset at her, for she did try to save both of you. but the realization slowly dawns upon the three children of the house of the hearth still with a steady heartbeat; it was either going to be you or freminet.
they realize this at different times. every time they do, they exchange a silent, quick glance.
freminet would’ve gladly given up his life. lyney and lynette, however .. they would not have been able to choose.
five: the gods.
it was entirely the gods’ fault. curse the gods, lyney thinks. he’s still pacing the room, and while he never put much stock in the divine, he was practically yelling at them now. he knew it wasn’t logical. but he needed something. what was the point of a god if not to help their people? what was the point of a god if just to watch people suffer like it’s an opera?
was she here now? was she watching? was this a “twist” for her? did she delight in this?
six: lyney.
it was entirely lyney’s fault. he shouldn’t have let you or freminet go. he shouldn’t have. he shouldn’t have let wriothesley play him like he was a deck of cards in his hands. this was all his fault. all his fault. he knew of the prophecy, dedicated his whole life to it — and yet hadn’t managed to save you from its clutches?
seven: you.
in truth — it was no one’s fault. but lyney is still pacing the room, breathing getting heavier and more rapid every time he steals a glance at you. lynette’s eyes still trace his every move, conveniently ignoring the sight of you as best she could; and freminet still has his face buried in his knees as to not look at your decaying body.
none of them can deal with the fact that it was simply an accident. no one meant for this to happen — there was no one to blame.
they needed someone to blame.
so each and every one of them blamed themselves. as lyney’s fingers grasped your cold ones, he squeezed them softly even as they began to turn blue beneath his grasp. he couldn’t bare to let you go.
and after three long days, the sun rose to find your bed empty where you had laid. you were nowhere to be found. for a moment, lyney’s heart practically leapt out of his chest, wondering .. did you get up?
but as he rushes to the bedside, his face falls. he should’ve known not to get his hopes up.
the blankets were damp where you had laid, soaked with water just as the stage in the opera epiclese had been.
lyney didn’t cry, nor did lynette or freminet.
they didn’t exchange so much as a word the day you died.
instead, they put their aching hearts and empty souls into the mission at hand. they worked twice as hard to distract themselves, and they provided excellent results for “father” — but they had barely worked together to do so.
they exchanged cold words and they held each other at night, when the pain became too much — because as much as they tried to pretend like nothing happened, that was a lie, just as the rest of their existence — but there was no mistaking it. they were now divided.
there was always you. and now there wasn’t.
lynette was the one who informed “father” of your .. whereabouts. lyney couldn’t bring himself to.

Hi! I love your blog and deep dives. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the Lolth-worshipper stuff you can find in the whispering depths, close to the well entrance. If I remember correctly, the journals suggest that the worshipper of lolth was an elf but not a drow? Do you think it might connect to any of the other characters we run into in bg3?
Hello, and thank you for an interesting question!
The story of Eliette, the high elf who began to worship Lolth and became the phase spider matriarch, is a very interesting and tragic one. So far, unfortunately, I found no connections between her and other characters from BG3 (or from D&D lore in general).
I suppose that it might be possible to create such connections - only, we do not know very much about Eliette and her past.
🕷️ Surface Life - from the Bloody Journal we know that the elf who became the phase spider was named Eliette. She was a high elf from the surface, but where or when exactly she lived - it is a mystery.
This fragment: "I weep for the decades spent treading the murky waters of profanity..." may suggest that Eliette was still a young elf when she was taken to the Underdark - she wrote about "decades" spent on the surface, not "centuries".
🕷️ Captured - Eliette mentioned "drow captors" in her journal, so at some point, she was clearly captured and brought to the Underdark.
From time to time, drow organize night raids on the surface settlements, and many elves do not survive such attacks. Drow typically prefer to kill them (or torment them and kill them later) than to let them live. It is quite possible, then, that Eliette was captured during such a raid - and that she saw many of her family members and friends dying that night 😔
🕷️ Slave - Lolth-sworn drow usually do not have a habit of keeping surface elves as slaves - they hate them by default and they think them (and surfacers in general) weak and ill-suited for life in the Underdark.
There are exceptions, though. Some drow may want to keep a particularly skilled or interesting elf as a useful slave, a curiosity or a plaything (Halsin's story can be an example of that).
Eliette clearly possessed some knowledge of arcane arts (sketched spell runes in the journal) - so maybe that was the reason why her drow captors found her too useful to simply kill her. Regardless of the reason, she survived and was kept by some noble house as a slave - for a long time, probably, since her own name began to feel "foreign" to her at some point.
🕷️ Menzoberranzan - Eliette mentioned "arachnomancers of Menzoberranzan" in her journal, so we can probably safely assume that this was the city where she was kept as a slave. She must have seen arachnomancers there and picked up some knowledge about them since later, she was able to recognize one's sigils (Tattered Journal).
I have no idea which one of the noble houses of Menzoberranzan could keep Eliette as their slave. She wrote: "I see their house's downfall in visions granted by the Spider Queen herself. When that day comes, when some unnamed whelp from an insignificant house cuts the matron mother's throat..." - but there is nothing overly specific there.
If her visions were true, the house ultimately ended up destroyed and its matron mother was killed - but it is a common end for many drow houses, both lesser and greater ones.
Maybe arachnomancers could be some clue - at least one noble house was particularly associated with them. For example, house wizard of House Melarn of Menzoberranzan was an arachnomancer and Melarni seemed to have an affinity for arachnomancers in general. But the end of the house from Eliette's vision would not fit...
🕷️ To sum things up - Eliette's story is not connected to any BG3 character, but theoretically, some Lolth-sworn drow from Menzoberranzan might remember her:
elven slave is not exactly a usual sight in a drow city, so - unless Eliette was rarely seen outside of the house compound - someone might have noticed her,
many Lolth-sworn drow would find the story about high elf being fascinated by Lolth utterly delightful - or absurd. Either way, it would probably make a popular rumour,
some Menzoberranyr drow might connect Eliette's vision described in her journal with some house's story, recognizing the facts.
These are only "what if..." scenarios, though.

(In truth, he's a little mix of both, but who is the dominant half... :3)
Before you guys pick, I base this on the essence of the character, not their story exactly.
Keep reading if you wanna hear the explanation & lore!
If not, feel free to vote!
How would the knights react if they were thrown into this universe...
Examples: Sir Falspar - (Sir Percival)
Sir Percival is known to be foolish & naive but overall the kindest knight in the nights of the roundtable. Being the heart of the roundtable...
So, how do I work this into the story...
During Sir Uther's cruel reign as leader of the GSA, Sir Falspar was named "The Fool" as punishment for his failure to protect the Fisher King. Why, you may ask because the Fisher King (in this story) was a d*ck! He was one of Uther's backers and was a corrupt king... long story short, he chose to save his men and the people of the kingdom rather than the Fisher King himself.
With Sir Nonsurat being his mentor...
Sir Nonsurat saw too much of his (younger self) in Falspar, and he tried to have him adopt a more serious attitude. He was never cruel to him (like Uther was to him) but tried to have him act a certain way... so he wouldn't get in trouble.
"Never ask to question your superiors" or "always do what you're are told"... that is how you survive here...
Despite that, Falspar's gentle heart, carefree attitude, and nature shined, which always made Sir Nonsurat constantly remind him to be professional. (Especially when Sir Uther was around...)
He always wanted to try to be friends with MK, but Nonsurat did not allow it due to Meta Knight's status as "the cursed star" and the fact that Arthur was his mentor. Nonsurat still held a bit of Arthur due to the past...
Meta Knight didn't want Falspar to get in trouble, so he avoided him... but never forgot his kindness. Years later, he's assigned an official position.... to guard and protect the planet of the Fisher King...
Who at the time had control of more than half of the trade routes in the galaxy. And a seat in the galactic council (head of treasury)... one of Sir Uther's backers at the time... He shared the same ideals as Sir Uther... he too, was an elitist scumbag.
The Fisher King presented himself as this kind ruler but, in reality, was two-faced... he'd smuggle and hoard goods for himself while other lesser planets would be on the brink of starvation. (He got away with it as long as he'd continued his support for the GSA.)
When Falspar witnessed all this... he didn't know what to think. "Were noble knights... aren't we supposed to serve the public?" Sir Nonsurat would remind him ", Don't question it... keep your head low, and you'll do fine,"...
Sir Nonsurat, even though a bit distant at times, truly cared for his student and wanted him to succeed. Not only that but since Falspar was knighted he was no longer under his care anymore...
Which meant if he slipped up... he'd be at Uther's mercy... and this man had none.
One day, Nightmare's demon came to attack the planet, and Falspar had to evacuate the whole planet. So... basically; what happened was that scene from "Attack on Titian," in The Battle of Trost.
youtube
Falspar chooses to protect his soldiers and the people first... but the Fisher King runs back for all his ill-gotten loot. He makes a dive back for his stuff but Nightmare's monsters decide to snatch it for themselves... the greedy king foolishly tries to protect it for himself and gets caught in the cross-fire.
While Falspar was able to save the Fisher King, he received a wound that left him impotent. (Reference to the Arthurian Legend)
After this, the Fisher King drops all his support for the GSA and is no longer backing Uther's endeavors... and made sure to blame Falspar. Needless to say, Sir Uther was livid when this happened... this man was out for blood!
After losing his strongest supporter, he publicly stripped him of his title as general, his unit, and branded him "The Fool." "THIS IS WHAT YOUR SOFT HEART GETS YOU!" then proceeds to burn his arm. Falspar looks to his mentor for help but does not step in to save him.
Sir Nonsurat could only look away in shame... and this hurt Falspar even more than his burning arm.
But someone does step in to aid him... It's none other than Meta Knight & Jecra. Basically, the boys hacked the place and caused a power outage... which caused Sir Uther to stop the burning.
He's distracted long enough for Sir Arthur to pull him off on Falaspar... Uther was about to reprimand Arthur for this, but the power outage was far more concerning that he had to leave it at that and storm out of there... in frustration.
Sir Arthur proceeds to heal and make sure Falspar is okay before following after Uther.
He knew that it was Meta Knight's doing (he'd done something like this before)... he had to make sure it couldn't be traced back to Team Halbred (MK's crew).
At this point, Sir Arthur & MK are still a little shaken up after the incident, but still have a deep care & bond. They were just a little awkward; they both never had an argument like that... which meant they never knew how to apologize to each other.
Arthur has been secretly looking after MK and his crew (covering up their tracks and aiding them when he could). And every time Meta Knight succeeded in a mission he made sure everyone knew he was Sir Arthur's pupil. (they still love each other very much)
Meta Knight & Jecra rushed over to make sure that Falspar was okay, and at that moment Falspar was able to put two and two together: they caused the power outage!
He has been grateful to MK & Jecra ever since.
Nonsurat tried to go over to Falspar as well but was turned away; Falspar had always tried so hard to receive love & praise from his mentor all this time but no longer wanted it.
In truth, Sir Nonsurat had the most sensitive heart out of all of them but was forced to lock away due to Uther's influence. Which is why he could never give Falspar the affection he always craved.
Ever since the Fisher King incident...their relationship has been rocky ever since.
I'm done planning out Falspar's part in the story... but Dragato's not just yet. Dame Morgan is Sir Dragato's mentor... I originally wanted to do Sir Dragato being under Sir Nonsurat but Dragato's perfectionism just jived so well with Morgan's character.
Morgan's relationship with Dragato is my favorite plot line in the story... can't wait to explore it! :3

KNY- My Lore
Blue spider lily AU
Okay: I'm finally here to explain you all something about my AU, this is the one set in the 1930s, I'll post something about my Taisho era AU too, but we're not here to talk about this.
Before diving in my AU I need to explain something about the general lore.
The main prompt for me was just "the Demon Slayer Corp is searching for the blue spider lily to take it from Muzan... but is this the whole truth?"
In the past there was just only one obligation when it came to choosing the ones who would have become Hashiras: there must be a Water Hashira, a Wind Hashira, a Stone Hashira, a Flame Hashira, a Thunder Hashira and, last but ABSOLUTELY not least, a Dream Hashira.
The Dream Hashira has one job in particular, keeping the secret that the Ubuyashiki family has links with Muzan, and that their "illness" is actually a curse caused by the Demon King himself, if the Corp were to find out they would probably stop respecting him, they would kill him I think. You might ask me how does the Dream Hashira respect him, well... there are a lot of things that people can do: brainwash, death threats...
And another question can be "how can the Dream Hashira keep the secret?"
Well, there's just one requirement to become a Dream Hashira: rare blood, a type of rare blood that can induce sleep and control dreams and that can be trained to erase and change memories, so if someone finds out something, the Dream Hashira has to do this.
In the previous generation a strange thing happened: Shinjuro Rengoku retired due to his alcohol addiction and some days after the other Hashiras all died in different missions, plus, the Dream Hashira (Enmu's master) was found dead in a room in the Butterfly Mansion, he apparently hanged himself... to the door handle.
Enmu was the one who found the body of the ex Dream Hashira, he immediately noticed hand signs under the rope, he understood that this was a threat for him, this because it was difficult for Kagaya to brainwash him, both him and his master started spying on him and found out he made deals with demons, and found out his true purpose about the blue spider lily: the Ubuyashiki family wants it to break the curse, and possibly become demons, immortality is tempting for everyone, let's be honest.
The day after, Enmu had to swore loyalty to the Ubuyashiki family and some hours later the new formation of Hashiras was convened and made official. Sixteen Hashiras to avoid the tragedy that happened with the last generation.
And this is all for this post, I hope you liked it; this is kinda funny because I have a lot of lore, I have a good base but I don't have any ideas on the story I could write, I don't have a timeline, I just have some interactions in my mind, I'll work about this and I'll come up with something!💙

Character ref sheet dump? Yeah.
Listen these two will become more relevant.. later. You might see a lot of them pretty soon but Ill introduce them in order. These are two characters of mine and youre going to see me upload snippits of their stories that will only be in context to my friends, really. [They are. Roleplay characters. Moving on.] But you guys can appreciate my art too.
This is Wolf! Youll also see me refer to them as Copper. He has more than one form- no I will not do a lore deep dive, that would require its own blog. [ Actually.. I might make this its own blog.. Im going to be drawing other characters in this too..] Anyways, hes a scruffy little guy, appreciate the art, that is all.
Tumblr media
And now, this girl is Eimi- I think thats what were going with- I still havent decided, if her name changes then her name changes, moving on. Look at her, appreciate her.
Tumblr media
Anyways, again, Im not going to give you context to the future art about these characters unless you ask questions about them, they are from a roleplay, theres SO much lore it would take all week, Im just uploading them to Tumblr to show off my cringe to the rest of the world, whether or not anyone here is interested.
Also I will be tagging these with #Era of Twlight
If ykyk, and if you go looking, you might find it somewhere other than here. Anyways, have a good day. Do not be afraid to ask questions, I will infodump.

Misc. SN character rambling (Gordon Byron)
I very few screenshots for whatever I’m going to ramble about on another character in seekers notes so you’re going to have to take my word for it. This is not an analysis btw i just want to talk about this guy for a bit
There’s this character, Gordon Byron, or Hyperion <- name he picked for himself I will elaborate later.
His family (made up of him, his mother, and his cousin) is a descendant of one of the founders of Darkwood (the city) and though I didn’t read too much into him, I thought his character development was quite interesting
going to be a bit long since i'm running through him as a character, spoilers under the cut
Backstory was that he had run away from home with his beloved that went missing when the curse fell upon the city but returned after realizing that he had responsibilities being the family's heir and such.
He's very quiet as a character, kept to books and nature and is a pretty big romantic but when he came back, and through the story he started getting invested in his family's history, aka. one of the founders named nostromo and his powers etc etc and also taking more initiative to help the city via. paying funds for damages and suggesting new things to keep the townspeople safe
okay to be honest theres some collecting crystal infinity stone level thing going on in the story and there's this section in the plot where gordon and i had to dive underwater to look for a stone tablet depicting one of the missing steps to getting one of the crystals
and some explosion happens and i get shot out of the water, leaving him underwater and the other characters and i are all panicking because the water breathing potion we took had some timing to it and he was about to die or something
but he emerges soon enough, with the gauntlet belonging to the founder equipped in his hand, and you can tell that this power was getting to his head
at this point, i was filling philiah in on the lore and i told her 'i think it would be really profound if he let the power get to him and influence him negatively' and lo and behold.
anyways carrying on, he started really embracing the name hyperion (a pseudonym he made up himself because if i can remember right, all the other founders also had one themselves) and having his own group of specialised guards.
then some attack happened on the city again where ghostly creatures appeared (summoned by the antagonist), and after gordon fought them off, he decided to set a curfew & interrogate all the townspeople because they could be people from a crime organisation (called the shadows) in disguise
cough cough side note, informant was telling me about how his guard kept going trying to capture him and he was frustrated that not only did he have to run from the crime organisation but he also had to run from the guard too lol.
and holy shit theres this section that especially got me where he was asking me for an update on the crystals and i told him it was going alright, letting on a little more detail than i liked and he then asks me to find more of this truth potion for him and then he says this
Tumblr media
he slipped a truth potion !!! !! !! !!!! unknowingly!!!!!! to me!! HOLAY MOLAY!!!. and when i went to talk to charlotte, she tells me about how some of the people who took the potion were down with pretty bad illnesses and fevers. THAT IS SO WILD.
he had to be suspended of his role and his guard operations after he nearly endangered the lives of the members of the crime organisation
THERES A LOT OF STUFF THAT HAPPENS INBETWEEN BUT ITS PRETTY BIZZARE BECAUSE HIS ANGER GETS THE BETTER OF HIM (and they really did show that he gets angry easily)
Tumblr media
holay molay this guy.
i like what they're doing here, it's really interesting ^_^ LOVE THAT THEY DID ACTUAL BUILD UP INSTEAD OF WHATEVER THEY DID WITH INFORMANT!!!!! love to see what happens to him later because currently the city is going through YET another world ending disaster and i (the seeker) have to save them.

thank you nightmare for the delicious lore crumb i will now drive myself crazy over it for everyone's enjoyment
alright so, "the game isnt supposed to exist. you're supposed to forget it" right off the bat i have a pretty good idea of what i think the first part means, which ill get to, but ill be frank i have No clue what the second part is supposed to mean. maybe ill think of it as i work the first part out, maybe not, but going into this i am Clueless.
diving right into the first part then, as soon as i read it i was reminded of magic man, and how he interceded on our behalf to stop Keith from seeing an ask that would have upset him. when we questioned Keith and Tenebris about magic man later, we learned that he had approached and spoken to Keith the day we first meet him, after we had left the flower shop, and told him that we (the MC) would be someone who could love him. (i wanted to find the exact post so i could quote it but i cant find it so if im mis-rembering something let me know)
so, if we assume that magic man is in fact, magic, and somehow pulled some strings to get this "fated meeting" between the boys and the MC to happen, then i think that pretty solidly solves the question of why the game isn't supposed to exist.
because its not supposed to. we were never supposed to meet Keith and Tenebris, and they were never supposed to get attached to us, but it Has been created and they Did. but something that's not supposed to exist has to be created, which explains the existence of magic man.
what i still dont get is magic mans motives tho. if he is the one that made it possible for the game to exist, and for the boys and the MC to meet each other and fall in love, Why? why would he do that? what does he get out of it? what made him look at Keith and Tenebris and say "ill handle it"
is it because hes been in a similar situation? because he knows what its like to be deemed "unlovable" by those around him? we know from the one picture we have of him that he has some scarring on his face, what happened to him to cause that? does it have something to do with why he seemed to go out of his way to help both us and the boys?
magic man is such a fascinating character in this world primarily because we know nothing about him. we know that he is aware of us, and that he is aware of the power our words have on Keith and Tenebris. we know he gave advice to Keith that he wont tell us about, and that Tenebris doesn't know all the details either. and that's like,, it.
to be fair, i could be completely wrong here, all of this is counting on magic man being magic, and i honestly have no other leads if that's not the case.
i also still have no idea what "you're supposed to forget it." is supposed to mean. it could be related to a couple of things, like how in the game once you finish a playthrough, that's it for that particular version of the boys. they're done and move on, forever mourning the connection to you that they once had but will never have again. if you start a new playthrough, you are given a completely new set of them, who are exactly the same, but yet are not the same ones as before. (which, side note, is so cruel and heartbreaking to think about)
anyways, thank you nightmare once again for sharing with me i have been thinking about this nonstop since last night when i saw it and it has been eating my brain alive
Sorry for the wait, Cacti, I finally dug this out of my ask pile.
But you're right about the fact that "he" is involved. However, none of the motives you listed are right :P And unfortunately, you won't find out until a future game. But your efforts are appreciated!

Boots of Haste Theft
Laura Bailey (Hosting): This is a question for Liam. What did Vax think was going to happen during Pelor’s challenge?
Liam O’Brien: Oh man I’m so glad you asked me about the boots of haste because I’ve been thinking about it for two weeks-
[Cast laughing]
Laura: I like how it didn’t come up at all (when Brian was hosting and I just somehow led into this)
Liam (over): And I too-
Liam: -I too am super curious why you chose that moment to steal those boots.
Laura (over): That is- That is not the question, Liam.
Liam: (I mean on the one hand- on the one hand- can I finish please? can I finish?) On the one hand I love it because we’re playing a game together, and Laura’s my best friend and we like fucking with each other [Laura sighs very loudly]
Laura (over): IT WAS-
Liam: (so it’s perfect for the game- can I finish?) BUT THEN, (the other half of me)
Laura (over): I’m the host I get to take control of this shit
Both: nonono no no
Liam (over): The other half of me wonders how- the other half of me-
Laura: (See the camera’s on me. The camera’s on me.) I was fucking with him-
Liam (coming into her chair and therefore into view of her camera): The other half of me wonders how do we write this chapter in the novel? Because-
Laura (over): I was fucking with my brother, and-
Liam: (Let me go over it)
Laura: And then he just believed it, and I just went with it-
Liam (over): You know, I thought it would be really funny to bop-
Laura: (-’cause he was like ‘I really believe you stole them’ and I was fucking with him-)
Liam: I thought it’d be really funny to bop Kynan, the fanboy on the head I thought that’d be really great gag that is canon lore that I get shit about constantly-
Laura (over): That’s true. That’s true, you made him bleed from the ears. You’re a horrible human being.
Liam (pointing at Marisha Ray offscreen): (You thought it’d be awesome to dive off the cliff!) You thought it’d be awesome to dive off a cliff and now there’s goldfish up the wazoo so you may not walk away from-
Laura (over): I’m not walking away from -! (to the new camera) Hi.
Liam: (-these boots! So.- Hi.) Let’s talk about the chapter in the book. Because the chapter in the book- let’s just go over the string of events right?
Laura (over): Je. Sus. Christ.
Liam: (So the twins are killed.) The twins are killed,
Sam Riegel (over): You’ve lost control Laura.
Liam: (Vex? is raised) Vax? Is obliterated, right?
Laura: You don’t have to deal with this!
Liam: Vax is obliterated. That night everyone flees, they’re distraught, (to Laura) YOU wept!
Laura (over): I did. I wept
Liam: (Over the armor-)
Laura: I was holding onto it
Liam (over): (voice cracking) youuu-
Laura: (and I was like) you know what really smells very strongly is these shoes cause they fucking reek-
Liam (over): You wept over the armor with your brother’s lover with the love of his life. The next day-
Laura: (-Just like my brother reeks. I’m gonna put these on because it reminds me of him)
Liam: -He walks inexplicably out of the woods right? How? Is he dead is he alive we don’t know. You find out he has the (muffled from Laura’s hand over his mouth) equivalent of a DND terminal illness, and you- and you say, ‘you know what? those- your oldest, most prized possession- ?
Laura (over): You know what? I’m gonna explain this to you and you have to stop talking ‘cause I’m gonna really explain this to you.
Liam: (-I’m taking them.’ And then!)
Laura: You walked up. I was incredibly sad, and then incredibly happy-
Liam: I know!
Laura: I know. And then what do we do as siblings all the fucking time? Is (whispered) fuck with each other. And that is what she did in that moment! (And it was literally just)
Liam (over): And then two hours later laced up the boots, attuned to them, and walked away, while your brother held your shoes which-
Laura (over): We’re gonna deal with this in the game. She doesn’t even want the fucking boots. She doesn’t want them.
Liam: (Which your shoes don’t fit his feet because they’re normal shoes!)
Laura:  Go back to your damn chair I’m hosting.

Tangled Bonus Marathon - Hair-Raising Adventures (Tangled: the Series Comic)
Tumblr media
Introduction
You know the drill. This is the third graphic novel collection of the IDW Tangled the Series comic. It’s more of the same... but also not. We see a bit of a shift this issue with longer, plot heavier stories, that attempt to connect to the main show’s on going story arc more. With ‘attempt’ being the key word here. Let’s dive in.
Content
Repeat if Necessary
The ‘Summer Sun Festival’ is going on, (which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense given season one’s timeline, but whatever) and Rapunzel wants to have the most perfect day. So she plans everything out to a tee... only to keep messing things up because she won’t go with the flow.
A mysterious old woman gives her a magic lantern that will send her back in time for just one day. What follows from there is basically a Groundhog’s Day scenario, where Rapunzel keeps repeating the festival over and over, only to make things worse and worse the more she tries to control things.
It’s not until she finally learns to accept things as they are and to be adaptable that she manages to have a fun day out with her friends and so refuses the gift, ending the time loop. We later find out that the old woman is unnamed Zhan Tiri supporter.
It’s a far better time traveling episode than what the show actually gave us. In fact this story is better than a large chunk of episodes from the main show. It’s not anything astoundingly amazing, but it functions better as ‘a filler’ story than most.
There’s clear set-up and resolve. The main character actually learns something! *gasp!*  And there’s hints to the wider story arc and series lore, that while it not necessary, adds a level of interest and intrigue. Sadly, it doesn’t actually connect back to the show due to Season three’s re-writes, but it’s prove that once upon a time, Tangle the Series used to have writers involved that actually cared about decent continuity.
The Madness
The second story also does a lot of things more successfully than the main series as well.
For one, we get an actual mother/daughter adventure. Even though the idea that Frederic would allow Rapunzel to travel outside the kingdom on diplomatic visits kind of undermines season one’s main conflict. (She wants to travel, so find her ways to travel doing princess things with the body guards you want her to have, meh)
The second thing it does better, is that it pulls off whole ‘girl is driven by jealously and mommy issues to conquer a kingdom at the encouragement of a mean girl demon with ill defined goals using a powerful magical object to subjugate people, but all she really wants is a ‘friend’ (i.e. Rapunzel) and is brought to reason with some love and understanding’ plotline than season three, mainly because they make the girl in question a seven year old!
It makes far more sense for a child to lash out like that than a grown ass woman, Chris!
Anyways, Rapunzel and her mom go to visit one of Arianna’s friends in another kingdom. There they find the young princess is kind of spoiled and orders everyone about. Turns out she wasn’t raised like this, but was given a magic wand that forces people to be mind controlled by her. Said wand was given to her by her ‘handmaiden; who turns out to be another Zhan Tiri supporter.
However, Rapunzel’s hair, for ill-explained reasons, can release people from the mind control and the wand’s power doesn’t work on her. After talking to the little girl she realizes that the child is just super lonely because her mother is too busy working to give her the attention that she needs, so after a heart to heart the young princess apologizes.
Which is when the ‘not-handmaiden’ reveals herself and her manipulation, but is easily defeated when Rapunzel destroys the wand.
I think I like this story a little less than the first, but it’s still a strong entry.
Save the Date
This one is pure fluff, but it’s good fluff.
Rapunzel has the day off and Eugene has a whole bunch of romantic things planned for them. (including hiring Varian to build a chocolate fountain.) Only their date keeps getting interrupted by various mishaps as Rapunzel keeps stopping to ‘help’ people. And to be fair she does help, but nothing she does majorly changes anything and only furthers to make Eugene’s day more miserable. In the end though they have a heart to heart while dancing in the alone in the town square.
This is literally some of the best writing for New Dream I’ve ever seen. In fact it’s so good that it’s borderline out of character. They’re actually having a mature conversation about themselves, about their relationship, and what they can both do to improve upon it!
Seriously, where was this in the actual show!?
The only complaint I have, and it’s very minor, is that Rapunzel should have offered to compensate the fishermen for his lost catch. No, it wasn’t her fault that he lost it, but as a ruler, it’s kind of her job to take care of her people and their livelihoods. And if she’s so focused on ‘helping’, than that would be a far better way to do it, because she’s fucking rich!
Misadventure’s in Camouflage: Hide and Seek
The two page shorts return in this mini-anthology focusing on Pascal.
Pascal and a young Rapunzel are playing hide and seek in the tower. Pascal gets the idea to hide in plain sight among a bunch of paintings of himself that Rapunzel drew earlier.
It’s cute, but there’s nothing else beyond that. It’s the weakest of the three shorts.
Misadventure’s in Camouflage: Humble Pie
The second story is slightly stronger, with Pascal trying to steal a freshly baked pie from under a young Rapunzel’s nose. Only to fail when he falls directly into the pie itself.
This is one is also fluff, but it at least has more of a set up and resolution.
Misadventure’s in Camouflage: Up a Wall
This is the strongest of the Pascal’s shorts, probably because it also double’s as a Max story too.
While teaching a sword fighting lesson for the troops, the Captain entrust Max to hold his helmet. But when Max loses it, it’s up to Pascal to retrieve the hat before Cap notices its missing.
This one has like actual stakes, and a real conflict. Plus there’s more character interaction instead of relying on Pascal’s supposed ‘cuteness’ alone to maintain interest.
Presentation
Tumblr media
The artwork inside is of course superb as always and on the same level as the previous IDW comics. However, as an added bonus this issue features variant covers as well, which is a nice addition.
Would I Recommend It
This is the best bunch of comics so far. The IDW graphic novels only keep getting better and better. Of course this gets a strong recommendation from me.
Next Up
We got another activity book, Tangled the Series: Magical Adventures.
Tumblr media
Also the salt marathon is winding down. We only got two more streams to go, tomorrow and next week.

FFXVI several hours later:
I have no idea how far I am through the plot. 3/5 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx down?
Kupka played the 'I have your wife' trope and that was my secret OTP trap card
I'm now a basic bitch who ships Clive and Jill like burning
They were 'I like them...they healthily communicate and share their trauma instead of dwelling in it and are super supportive of each other'
Now I'm like 'ahddksklkfhdksk!'
But when does the choice of fabric in that one side quest kick in and I get to Jill in a new outfit? I know what a bonus content choice is, SE
Speaking of bonus content choices...Otto or Gav scene and Jill or Tarja scene
I chose Otto for the first because he hadn't joined me before but I'm curious about the latter. With the girls I was already in 'ahdksjsgaldhdj' OTP zone so obviously I took my wife, even though I'm also curious about the Tarja scene. That is was chapter replay is for, I guess. I did see that was a thing but haven't looked at it.
As soon as Mid turned up I was like 'yeap...that sure is Cid's daughter'. I'm actually surprised Vivian isn't her mother. I thought, when Vivian first showed up, that it might have been what connected her to the crew.
If this was an older game the hideaway would become an airship in late game. But looks like the Enterprise is in a different castle. And may or may not end up an airship.
I have suspicions about the mystery plot. Based on all the FFXIII Trilogy repackaging that this game has.
Also hello Prince and his lover
Happy pride month
(SE you still have time to confirm Vanille and Fang are also lovers this pride month)
(Not that they need much confirmation)
I'm sad that Joshua is probably not making it out of this story alive. At least that is the vibe I have. But I am believing Clive and Jill both will. Her ill health was giving me concern but some of the story elements give me hope.
But trying to remain spoiler free is soo hard. I want to see people's opinions and reactions to stuff.
But I know once I take just a peek of fandom I will either see something I shouldn't or dive in too deep
So spoilerfree and ignorant of others I remain!
(Also if the multishippers aren't shipping Clive and Gav then that is discrimination against himbos. I'm already in basic bitch Clive×Jill OTP mode but I have faith in the multishippers without looking at the fandom)
I have no idea how much game still remains, either
I'm guessing at least another 20 hours based on just story stuff
Oh, and the most important plot point happened
As soon as he turned blue and leapt out to save Jill I shouted out loud 'wait...MY DOG IS FENRIR?!?'
Turns out he's technically my wife's dog
Peak married
So it didn't even matter that the UI spoiled the fenrir bit on the attribute screen before Tomes could lay down the lore. Because my FF fan ass knew on sight lol
Oh yeah...about Clive and Jill. I was on the fence about whether or not they had been banging the entire time during the 5 year timeskip. Because everyone else sure as hell believes they are and its a small hideaway...but they are still doing the whole pining/almost kiss/long stare thing. And either it's just to bait the audience or they really have been doing that the entire time.
Like...babes...please...you are, in a rare case for FF during the main game for the main protaganists...grown adults.
One last thing...I got a massive amount of satisfaction over beating the entire Titan boss thing. I didn't die, I learned the boss patterns pretty well and managed the phases pretty quickly...but during the fight's stages I kept thinking 'nooooo...stop...not another stage....no...come on...don't power back up :(((('
Like...I'm managing the battle system and I get a lot of satisfaction over beating things. But it is still the thing I have to do to experience the story. Rather than me doing it for the gameplay. So a win, really, since this isn't my choice of gameplay.
I would have probably preferred story mode but I'm invested now lol

some thoughts about Stultifera Navis’s armature
Paragraphs before the cut are spoiler free
This was the first event I didn’t spoil myself with datamines beforehand and I mostly locked myself out of social media to not be influenced by others and it was great. During events/new content drops I usually do a bit of translation as I go and share on twitter but this time while going through the event I just kept thinking ‘wow I wish I could have experienced this first-hand in a language I could parse fluently enough without having to open up 10+ tabs of Chinese dictionaries and other aids lol’ (mandarin is my mother tongue but I’m not fluent, and even more so if we’re talking about ‘mainland’ mandarin)
This is probably my favourite event now (sorry Dossoles... Also recently read a blogpost on the problem with Chen’s characterisation in DH that I mostly agreed with but that’s a blog post for another day if they give me permission to share lol)
Anyway spoilers under this (ended up not writing anything about Skadi and Specter I'll leave that for another day maybe)
I was expecting the plot to be something like what the original allegory was about—a crew of ill-fitted people all quarrelling over who should be captain; or the satire (been trying to read the Barclay translation but the non-modern English is killing me) the most direct reference (iirc) is when Kal’tsit is asked
“If Terra is a ship, what kind of ship do you think it is?”
Later near the end she says:
“Terra is full of ills and ignorant idiots, and full of saints who seek reason from madness and disorder.“
I think the story asks the reader two questions, the first one Under Tides has already touched on—
What makes one ‘human’?
What makes one a ‘fool’?
After finishing the event I can tell you the answer to 2: fools are people like twitter user twilledW who don’t know a blip of the language they’re (machine)translating and you should take their ‘‘‘translations’‘‘‘ with a huge Stultifera Navis shipload of salt especially for main story/lore content. Apparently they block people who point out the TLs are wrong too I really don’t understand clout chasers.
For example Kal’tsit says this near the end:
可在这数万年的岁月里,我也有我的职责。
“Within these tens of thousands of years of time/life, I’ve also had my (own) responsibilities.”
They just read the surface and went "Btw, Kal'tsit is confirmed to be over 10,000 years old" as if she said ‘within my quadrillion years of living’ when clearly it is not the case... yes, perhaps you could say she might be, but its not an absolute confirmation.  Please use technology wisely my fellow knights on tomorrow’s boat!!!!!!
If anyone read all of this nonsense here’s a shiptpost for your efforts, here is what I think is the story’s armature. I know UT tackled this a little but I think SN built on it even more; I mean it’s basically a deeper dive(hehe) into the core of Arknights’ story right. I would say feel free to discuss but I don’t see anyone using replies here like they do on Lofter lol

Elijah 01
Being on tumblr makes me wanna feel more homely and less professional and then I suddenly remember I can just like,, lore dump anytime I want and post out of a time schedule just like back in 2014. Anyways someone on Deviant Art asked about Elijah! So ill be chatting about him in this moment. Cant say today because LMAO Ill probably be back on here later talking about another oc.
I dont really talk about him as much as I should and I have very few content of him in it. Truth is I purposely dont really expand on him as much as to try and bend/taint his character that I fleshed out for him to be. Its something that happens quite often when I try to dive too deep and I find that by a fault a lot of my characters end up feeling the same-- to me at least. So its a preventative measure.  Here IS what i have about him though: Elijah Alan Spence, Agent Spence, Code name Black Rabbit, or for some: Eli!  He’s an elite agent that has worked his way up through T.K.E.A ranks (ill make a t.k.e.a thing later just check lore tag or somn before I actually decide to learn how to structure my text posts). Although he’s an elite agent dont think that his views align with what T.K.E.A is doing. Hes mostly a ‘good’ guy wrapped up in bad things type deal since I love doing that for some reason.  The initial belief was that he could work his way up and change it that way but its clear that because of him being brought into the agency as only an agent that there was a dead end when it comes to working yourself up to more ceo levels. The highest you can go would be what he is; an elite.  When he realized that was also when he realized that T.K.E.A basically silences any defective agents so there was no way to change things without getting himself murdered. So he was put in a space where he had to continue his job while figuring out how to fix things undercover.  Unfortunately until Chris (when T.K.E.A really started fucking up) there wasnt anything that was really pushing him to just make the jump without thinking.    Now I know that sounds weak ended on his part but let me explain something:  Elijah was very very inspired by tah-dah!
BBC Sherlock! *1# on all time favorite and comfort shows to watch and HAS seen it 10 times in total. No, Im not joking.*
Tumblr media
So if you picked up on this, congratulations! Here's a cookie. Now that means in this he has a very similar qualities as Sherlock Holmes that he cannot operate without thinking things through. Not until a time really calls for it. I am NOT saying that Christian Edens is his John, gods no. In fact his “john” actually was his partner (in the work sense) died at a job.  Its just more or so the situation with Chris was a final straw, one that really made Elijah say ‘enough is enough!’. He may seem brief and brutally honest on the outside that often makes him come across as an asshole but on the inside he truly does have a heart for those in need and a drive to stride for something better for everyone. Its just he will be doing it in his own way and gods forbid if anyone tried to change his direction he laid out for himself. Hes very stubborn.
Elijah took the cards he was dealt with and made the absolute most of them of what he could. It just, wasnt enough at the time.
Hes highly intelligent, though bit rough around the edges when it comes to socialization. Like Sherlock again as his inspiration, he can make quick deductions but has a hard time keeping his mouth shut when he makes those deductions. Not everyone enjoys his honesty and way of ‘no bullshitting’.  Just because he has a heart doesnt mean he isnt a bit egotistical at times either. Its just not all the time. its like “hey look at how smart I am!”.  Other things to note is wow! Hes a rabbit shifter! His pronouns are he/him strictly and hes *sighs* straight. One of the very f e w ocs I have that are cishet. Though sometimes I do make some interesting hcs about him at least trying things. >_> Idk if ill put those here though. They are sexual in nature. LOL

☕️ Thoughts on Dishonored lore?
send a ☕ with a topic and ill tell you my thoughts ;)
oh man. dishonored. literally one of the series of all time. i honestly dont know as much of the lore as i would like but i occasionally go on deep dives and end up 50 pages later in the wiki after starting at like. emily. i really love all the little companion stories that are included in the games that you can just find lying around but i never actually read them while im playing the game because i. well. i just want to play the game. i enjoy the gameplay so much and i get so involved that i dont want to stop.
i find the world to honestly just be very captivating. the aesthetics are just lovely. grim and dreary sure but when you find colors its refreshing and breathtaking <3 and theres no part of the games lore i dont find fascinating. the abbey, the oracular order, the gangs, the cults, the witches, the normal people you can interact with, the plagues. PANDYSSIA. god i want to know more about pandyssia. scary as shit supercontinent mostly unexplored and unknown to the rest of the world? fucking! give it to me! and after the events of DOTO… idk how much you know at this point but. some spoilers (i wont say anything major in the games' plots tho)
i would love to see how pandyssia was effected by death of the outsider. like. its in the title you cant really avoid spoilers for what happens in that game. but pandyssia was kind of the continent of magic? like they never really understood what was going on there and so much strange shit was brought back on the few voyages that returned. theres gotta be some kind of civilization over there. and i bet it was DEVASTATED by the fall of the outsider. i would love to just. be some guy on an expedition sent to explore, now with even crazier shit going on because the world is falling apart without a god <3
i just really love the story around the outsider. that guy is so fucking strange. simultaenously 12 and 4000 years old. he just wants to watch the chaos. he does not give a SHIT about morals he just wants to see something interesting. he really is just a guy watching the world like its a bunch of bugs in a glass box.
i REALLY want to know what happens to him after the pacifist ending to DOTO. i know its unlikely for them to confirm the "canon" ending to DOTO since they dont plan on making another dishonored at present. but god. i would kill for some of that post-game content. with the way the veiled terror ends they honestly could make a game out of the time travel nonsense the protagonist would have to go through. i think that would be very fun <3
i love these games very much and i really should get around to reading the rest of the things……..

And in celebration of my newfound drive to suddenly post and expand upon my (superb) opinions on my fav pieces of media, i must also say this: i dont rlly agree with the "hehe but its fun to imagine william had 0 motive to murder cuz hes just built diff lol!" affirmation like...yea ok but do u realize how dull and utterly boring that is from a writing pov. Scott cant fuckin write a linear story nor can he model humans to save his own life and has to pull 1000 books out of his ass to fill in the gaps and even THEN it still aint enough. So i can take the liberty to think about the what ifs.
Not negating the existence of serial killers that had a seemingly normal and uneventful upbringing doing what they did later in life at all, that IS a possibility. Theoretically the likes of dahmer and bundy could be put into that category (tho we'll never know for sure but i digress) so yes people who weren't abused or didnt go through major trauma can STILL commit heinous acts.
BUT i still think, for the sake of storytelling and character flavour, that it is infinitely better to say (this is fuckin fnaf lore we STILL dont have a clear answer of who was first nd i've seen many ppl who have diff interpretations when it comes to details cuz duh😑) that evan died FIRST and that was the beginning of william's downward spiral. Just imagine, an already unhealthy mind having to process such immense amounts of agony and grief. It's only logical he'll eventually snap and do something awful. And that only makes his folllowing actions all the more impactful and infinitely more fucked up.
I wont dive rn into the backstory of william that i made and how everything clicks into place when adding up the already known fnaf lore, but just the mere fact that he already by no means was a "good" person and suffered from untreated mental illness and then one of his OWN kids kills ANOTHER ONE OF HIS OWN like. USING HIS OWN CREATION. Can you imagine. That ultimately would make his already egotistical ass think "wow! life fucking sucks and if i cant have shit then no one will!" and thats precisely why he kills charlie afterwards, making her his first victim ever. And that was the only non premeditated murder bc it was done completely on impulse, he saw a chance and took it after henry berated him for his erratic behavior that resulted from evan's death bc it was causing up trouble at work and in their business relationship, so mans simply drove away angrily, saw charlie conveniently locked out of the restaurant and did it in a sick act of revenge that held nothing but pure pent up rage. And after he saw that he could even get away with killing his best friend's kid, he wanted to see just how much he could push it. This also makes sense when u think of when henry says "a wound first inflicted on me" at the end of fnaf 6 bc it implies charlie really being william's first murder and a personal one at that.
AND i have to say i also completely disagree with the whole william offed his wife and yeeted her into ballora theory. Not only would it throw more suspicion on william cuz at this point he had 6 victims and ppl deadass KNEW it was him, but i firmly believe mrs afton skeddadled sometime before elizabeth died. His fuckin marriage fell apart alongside everything else following evan's death in 1983. I believe ballora (just like how circus baby was modeled after elizabeth) was made as an homage to his wife and because it was clear the only family member he felt badly about was michael for obvious reasons. In my mind william always goes for victims he isn't emotionally involved with and actively avoids killing close ones (the only exception to the rule being charlie bc 1. it was done entirely on impulse and i believe its the only crime he regretted at least in the moment and 2. i dont think he was necessarily emotionally involved w charlie despite obvs knowing her, if anything i'd argue HENRY is more emotionally involved w william's kids bc he's a much more mentally healthy person than he is) a.k.a the double life serial killer if u will (think keith jesperson) like he literally cared abt his family in his own weird ass ways, he never wanted evan or ELIZABETH to die.

some long talk about about my artistic (?) project below
there is a story i've been working on since 2019. i love it so much and it's been a continuous comfort for me during all this time. however the topics, and themes, and messages included in it are so very personal for me, that even after all these years i find it impossible to write anything about it, be it short stories, lore ect. my biggest hope for this year is to overcome it and let my project to exist anywhere else than just in my thoughts...
there are two main characters. one is a grey, lurcher-like dog with blue bandana wrapped around its neck. this dog knows how to light the lantern again after it goes out, as it was kept as a pet in puppyhood and it was always drawn to light, paying great attention to how humans operate it. now it goes from place to place in order to help all the dogs it meets, who need their lanterns to be restored. second one is an abnormally huge, light coated dog from a former puppy farm, it looks a little similar to a caucasian shepherd. it lacks the sense of smell, the most important one for the dogs. it spent its whole life isolated in a small kennel. when the news of the illness came to the breeders, they opened up all the kennels and shooted blindly and the dogs, a few of them managed to escape - it includes this character. both of them meet sometime after the giant's escape, when it lies lifelessly in an open field, weak of cold, hunger and lack of any hope. blue bandana one decides, of course, to help it, and soon they start to travel together.
it is set in a non-specified, tundra-taiga place, where the winters start to rapidly become much longer and harsher every year. so we have snow, winter, abandoned nature, a plague of illness, dogs with lanterns... this is the imagery i'm trying to set. as for themes, i often use this project as a place to vent, so i think i'm still not quite ready to dive deep into it. let's just say it it deals broadly with grief, lots of morals and ethics regarding dogs as a species, pedagogy. one of main characters lacks the sense of smell, which also brings the theme of disability. the other one is uhh autistic coded let's say (not in a literal sense as it is a dog, but i'm using this character as an outlet for my own experiences of having autism and such, i try to sort of translate ((i can't find a good word for it in english sorry)) the human experience into dog and show how it can look like in this universe of talking dogs lol).
so this is it for now, i hope i will be able to share more than the very basic and shortened lore in the future. however i might delete this post later or even tomorrow if i find it being too much for me because yeah. it is a very personal story and it makes me very nervous to make it exist somewhere else than just my thoughts

Animal Jam: Figuring out the Eclipse
Hello, Jamblr! After the positive feedback on my last theory/essay thingy, I've decided to share this brand new theory concept I've been conjuring up for ages now. My last essay was one of my first posts being new to both tumblr and the jamblr community as a whole, and I've made lots of new friends here too, so thank you so much for the warm welcomes since then!
Now, now!! Enough of Gabe's silly ramblings!! This is Animal Jam: Figuring out the Eclipse!
Tumblr media
August 21 2017 marked Jamaa's Eclipse day, which paralleled the real world total eclipse happening on the same day. This Eclipse shrouded every inch of Jamaa in total darkness. This is one of the only times Jamaa went through its night cycle (not counting the newly added daylight cycle in Play Wild) other than the Night of the Phantoms.
Each location in Jamaa had a brilliant night sky and was very dark out with hardly any visible light; except for two locations: Jamaa Township and The Lost Temple of Zios. And I'm sure you can guess where exactly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This ray of light reflecting off of the statues of Zios and Mira is an odd detail alot of keen players noticed and questions began to arise. Why these statues specifically? Will this result in anything? Is this some sort of ethereal power or just plain reflective light?
Well, I'm here to answer that last question specifically, and it's actually a bit of both.
I mentioned talking about this at a later date in my previous theory/essay; Mira and Zios can correspond to the moon and sun, but not in the way that's commonly assumed. Zios is often thought to represent the sun and Mira the moon, but its mainly thought of because of their color palettes, and alot of spiritual references that, when linking Zios as a character to other beings like him in mythology, they're often representative of sun and light like the incan god Viracocha; his main design inspiration. With that, it's like; "Well, this means Zios represents the sun because of [reasons go here], so I guess Mira is the moon even though I'm not giving it any thought!"
I'm here to prove anybody who thought that wrong when I say the sun/moon representation is the opposite. Mira is the sun. Zios is the moon. Two very important factors of a Solar Eclipse.
Why do I think this?
Well, looking at the story of Jamaa, Zios has more connection to the dark. I'm going to dub these points "Sun and Moon factors". Zios was taken through the phantom portal by the Queen before Mira dove in after him. His character as a whole is often shrouded in mystery and uncertainty and there's not enough information we have of him to give him a distinctive personality, and him being covered up by a mask is really the cherry on top of that. Is he perhaps just a kindly guy who's insecure? Or is this mask rather something of a cruel deception? His character isn't representative of dark in a literal way but more of a way regarding his identity and how he is perceived in a figurative darkness. Just like the common phrase; we are often "in the dark" about him. It's possible to perceive Zios as a villain but it's also difficult because he does have his morals.
Mira, on the other hand, I can see as a sign of hope, light, and belief. She's a morally good character, who's sincere and passionate about her love for Jamaa and its inhabitants (Even if Zios, in the old lore, doesn't necessarily agree.) She's passionate about the determination of the Alphas, and she's passionate about her ill-fated romance with her creator spirit partner in crime. ;)
She definitely has an immense love for Jamaa and its really no big secret how grateful she is for its community. From choosing Alphas to protect the land and diving through the phantom portal to protect her lover, the signs of her kindness are really not a secret. She's a final sign of hope for Jamaa, sworn to protect the land, its citizens, their protectors and her lover, no matter the cost. Moral goodness = divinity and light, if we think about this spiritually!
Also, if you're looking for more evidence, check out the literal item that makes up my account and its correspondant; the Haunted Zios Portrait and the Haunted Mira Portrait. Notice anything?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, my favourite ingame item, the Haunted Zios Portrait, shows our funny mask boy as the Headless Horseman. Comedy! He's sort of the opposite of headless, though.
Anyway, he's shown in front of a bright moon and a dark sky, with yellow light smoking of his mask he's attempting to... Throw? Or just holding up? No idea. But this item is hilarious. But him being in front of a night sky and a moon is what is important.
Meanwhile, the Haunted Mira Portrait shows our heron girl in front of a clear blue sky with clouds. A cyan glow is radiating off of her.
But, what if i said that these two items were apart of the same scene? Like two of those pokemon cards that tell a story. This next part is gonna be all over the place, because I don't have a degree in science, but with the power of Google I can seem alot smarter!
The reason why the moon is so bright in the sky at night isn't because it makes its own light. In fact, it reflects light off of the Sun's surface like a mirror to, like me researching this off of Wikipedia, make it seem alot cooler than it really is. Figuratively.
Moonlight consists of mostly sunlight (with little earthlight) reflected from the parts of the Moon's surface where the Sun's light strikes. The color of moonlight, particularly around full moon, appears bluish to the human eye compared to most artificial light sources due to the Purkinje effect.
The Purkinje effect (sometimes called the Purkinje shift) is the tendency for the peak luminance sensitivity of the eye to shift toward the blue end of the color spectrum at low illumination levels as part of dark adaptation. It's why when things are darker we see blueish tones, instead of things always just being a toned down shade of the original color.
I think the Purkinje effect is also why we sometimes see Zios depicted as more of a bronze color rather than gold.
Tumblr media
This blueish effect around a full moon? Exactly what's shown around Mira in her haunted portrait item! In this case, she's making her own light, and I think the yellowish light surrounding Zios' mask in his opposing portrait is him playing moon and reflecting off of that. And we see this concept of Zios "reflecting light" and "reflecting others concept" ALOT. I wouldn't say its stealing but it's pictured in a very deceptive way. Light is often pictured to reveal or open Zios related things, and if he's representative of the moon it'd make sense for him not be able to make his own "light" himself, but to rather observe and recieve that "light" or whatever it may be from others. Like the moon, reflecting light off of the Sun's pristine surface.
And, at the finale of Jamaa's Eclipse, what does this light do? Well, it brings back the Statue of Zios! No longer in the ground and in ruin, ol' masky here floats above the soon-to-be-opened Forgotten Archive, where we are exposed to documents from ancient stories of Jamaa, classic retellings, and even extracts from Zios' own journal.
Tumblr media
So, where else do we see this concept of light being used to reveal Zios? In the Animal Jam novels, by Ellis Byrd. (I've been binge reading them, this is about the 3rd post I've made mentioning these!) A factor of why Zios' personality is often unclear is because he often finishes off any of Mira's dialogue and only really speaks when he is required to. Here's some quotes from the first book, Call of the Alphas, that are perfect examples of this.
"Animals of Jamaa," the heron called, her voice ringing around the clearing. "We know you have your differences. But it is time to set those aside, for you have a common foe."
"The Phantoms have poisoned our land," Zios rumbled. "But its not too late. It is possible for us to defeat this enemy... By working together."
-Call of the Alphas, page 15
"There was no challenge that couldn't be met. If the remaining animals could unite once more, the way they used to..."
Zios knew what Mira was thinking.
"They just might be able to take Jamaa back from the Phantoms." he finished.
-Call of the Alphas, page 13
"You've done it!" Mira called to them, spreading her wings and soaring overhead. "You've harnessed your full power as Alphas!"
"And you've given all of Jamaa newfound strength," Zios boomed. "Including Mira and me. Hold fast, now..."
-Call of the Alphas, page 129
It's cute Zios finishes off Mira's sentences and stuff, but guardian spirit couple goals are not what I'm focusing on here. It's almost as if Zios' own sentences are reflective of whatever Mira says; obviously not the literal case, but it's like Zios thinks it's only polite to speak when Mira does, so he finishes off her dialogue.
Another case of light being associated to expose Zios is throughout Adventures. In The Mystery Below, a door with the emblem of Zios' mask can be opened by gathering Glow Moths and luring them with light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This could also be linked to the theory that Zios IS a Glow Moth, but that's something for another time ;)
Another factor that I believe foreshadowed the dormant Zios statue being revived is this really specific detail in The Great Escape. The refraction of light from these mirrors that are moved to shine onto the Crystal, to open the door with a Zios emblem.
This small detail hit me like a bullet.
Tumblr media
Well? What's with all the Zios = Moonlight thing? What am I trying to prove?
Perhaps Zios reflecting light, or in this circumstance, power, is much rather something deceptive. Like Zios reflecting Mira's dialogue. Zios, using this Eclipse to his advantage, using the light reflecting off of the Sun to shine onto HIS statue; his MASK, even, to bring it back from ruin. All this using Mira's ability without her knowledge. Power-hungry, maybe? I would be too if I'd been held hostage by Phantoms for millennia.
I think that's why we see Zios being associated with light so much. He was slowly making his return. However, much like the moon, he doesn't make his own light; he reflects it from the Sun- His heron lover Mira.
Interesting! Maybe sky dad isn't really "as good as gold"... Part two, anyone?
