the atsv fandom is kind of dead now but it still pisses me off how hobie was reduced to a black stereotype in most his fanfics (and written by our OWN people???)

the amount of fics where he 1) spikes the readers drink 2) is a drug dealer 3) the whole fic mentions weed in every other sentence or 4) literally any other black stereotype you can think of, someones written it using hobie.

why cant black people have normal shit like white centered fics do?? why do y’all HAVE to include some kind of stereotype the literal second a black character or reader is involved.

Thunderfall Official Lore Post - 1

This is the first lore post of many, believe me. I have plenty of worldbuilding to lay out on the table! This is likely the first of two I'll post before Chapter one.. (of course that's not cemented as a timeframe, but it's a loose estimate.)

The giants of Vibrutas, the Vibrutian’s, were a primarily closed off race (atleast to any other intelligent life-forms besides themselves), until Earth’s satellite dishes shot a myriad of signals and messages into the vaccum of deep space.

They are not a friendly sort, or most of them prefer not to be. They are divided up into a multitude of cultures, and some pay tribute and thanks to different deities from their homeworld. (Which will be explored in a different post, once I sort out the details.)

Vibrutian’s have sexual dimorphism displayed in their race; with the females usually being bigger, and having brighter coloration, and the males being smaller and having duller colors. Of course that is not to say that sometimes, in some cases, men could have more vivid coloring, and Women could be more de-saturation; but it isn't common.

Most, if not all Vibrutian’s have very sharp canines, since they are primarily carnivores, Although omnivores are quite common too for the more rustic folk that prefer to live off of farmland. But, they have a unique little quirk; the more predatorily inclined vibrutian’s, have their teeth needing “maintenance” every couple days, or they will get dull. So to prevent this, they usually gnaw or chew on hard objects to sharpen them.

They have bioluminescent markings that span most of their bodies, and change as they get older, becoming more and more intricate with time. These markings are capable of flashing on command, which has made another sub-communication for their kind; and the markings shift between colors depending on how they feel. Like..mood lights!

They are extremely vocal, and often more than not, have special sounds they reserve for being affectionate with a partner, ex- trilling, purring, or even a low growl. So, a growl that a human could perceive as aggressive, is actually more of an "I love you!" sound for them.

Vibrutian’s have complex language all their own, but when speaking to other lifeforms they usually just use a small translator that they can clip onto their helmets or uniforms. But these translators don't tend to be used often..

Minor addition, there are several kinds of dimorphism in their species.. Ex: rare eye-colors, the women actually have lower pitched vocalization than men do, and some markings are more common in certain genders than others.

They have INCREDIBLE hearing, a great sense of smell, and stellar night-vision! Their ears are extremely sensitive though, and a loud noise can easily stun or incapacitate a Vibrutian.

They're fantastic trackers and usually always find what they're after, which is how humans were rocketed to the brink of extinction so quickly.

Their pupils and markings reflect what kind of behavior they will have, but their pupils also contribute to their rarity, as some pupil types are rarer than others. For example, there is one pupil type that is so rare, it's considered a mere legend.

Their teeth also have a lot to do with the individual giant’s behavior; Dulled, rounded canines are mostly for less predatory, and less aggression prone giants, or perhaps those more adapted to eating plants than meat. Sharper, curved or jagged canines are more common in the aggressive sort.

Vibrutian’s are one of the biggest races that exist in the world of Thunderfall; and their heights vary depending on the age of the giant. Adults are in the ranges of 100–120, Teens are from 90—100, etc.

Last but not least, a deeper lore teaser: They are very reverent of the moon, even when it is not the same one from their homeworld.

Life update!

Just finished my first week of senior year and IT WAS A BIT OVERWHELMING😭 I love my classes and professors, but so much has been going on lately that I feel like my mind is constantly going a million miles an hour🥲

I unfortunately haven't had the time to write, but I definitely wish to be able to settle down for a bit and pour myself into something nee for y'all :")🫶🏼

BUT GUESS WHO STARTED HER POTTERY ERA— THIS GIRL!! It's so tricky and I have to admit I still can't throw a decent cylinder, but it's something I've been having fun with and find soothing💖

Summary: Your favorite had embarrassingly made a mistake in potionology class, which ultimately resulted in them turning into a cat! They hunt you down to care for them, escaping their usual routine for the day.

A/N: I’m posting this at 12AM, so if Leona’s looks or sounds sort of off(or OOC), it’s probably because I’m surviving off of insomnia and leftover energy from an energy burst (ADHD).

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

- He was irritated. Extremely. All the time.

- See, Leona skipped the class that would have told him NOT to do X, Y, and Z. So what did he do when he came without that knowledge? yeah.

- At first, he was just grumpy as hell (whats new)

-But eventually he stopped caring, found a good hidden spot in the botanical garden and took the longest nap because nobody could even find him.

-Aside from you that is. You scooped up this pretty… large… brown tabby, and plopped him in your bag immediately after cooing in his grumpy face.

-only reason he didn’t hiss and scratch was because it was you, anyone else and they would have had their day ruined in seconds.

-You took him back with you and put him on your bed, staring at him as you thought of how you where going to go about this. You seriously thought he was just a regular cat, and that you could keep him.

-The first thing you attempted to do was give him cat food, and he turned his nose and walked away. Then, you tried a bath. That didn’t work since you turned around for literally 4 seconds and he was gone.

-You found him asleep on your bed after a while of looking, deciding to let him sleep while you switched your focus from him and his failed bath-time, to studying for this upcoming history test.

-While you where writing, you look up and leona is SNORING on your bed, not the perfectly normal tabby cat you thought you had brought home.

RUGGIE BUCCHI

-“the fuck do I do now” for a moment.

-He wonders if this is how Leona feels on a regular, or if this is how Jack feels when he uses his signature spell.

-Escapes quickly and makes his way to wherever you are, running his body against your ankles with a sweet meow. You had absolutely no idea the little tan colored cat was him, crouching to pet him and pick him up, immediately accepting him as yours.

-refused to eat cat food, but ate UP whatever you cooked. He was so full after omg.

- cried while he had diarrhea. it was bad, he was so embarrassed, refuses to talk about it regardless of how long ago it was.

-he’ll play with and collect any toys you give him just because you bought them for him, and bring you one he wants you to throw. He has nothing else to do but be a cat, so why not?

- Brings back coins and thaumarks he finds on the ground anywhere and hides them in a pile somewhere for him to have when he turns back. Flicked his tail at you when you found his stash and SWATTED AT YOU when you tried getting near it.

- When he turned back, he came back only for his stash. Or so he said, because he hung around you for a good hour before going back to whatever business he had.

JACK HOWL

- His partner knocked the bottle over, which he tried to save it, and the potion wasn’t even the right one, so now he’s a cat.

- Wasn’t sure how to feel about being a wolf one moment and a cat the next

- He tried not to do anything that would irritate or upset you, but his CHATTERING.

- He will chatter even if theres nothing to chatter at, he’ll do it in your ear, at you, he just would not stop when he figured out he could do such a thing.

- He’ll stop doing anything IMMEDIATELY if you spray him with water, and will sulk for an hour after.

- Will bolt from one end of your dorm to the other. If you get him toy’s he’ll play with them, but not for long.

- ^ I say not for long because he eventually RUNS AWAY and explores twisted wonderland by himself as a cat, just to see what all he could do with this new kind of flexibility and agility.

- Stares at you while you do things while he sits on your desk. Not like he’s plotting something or anything, just observes you while you continue your routine.

- When his time as a cat was up, he was glad to be back, but also slightly disappointed when he thought of new things he could’ve done beforehand.

- He came back to you as his original beastman self(??) since he was out when it happened, and thanked you for anything you provided even if it was simply playing with him.
