for context: star trek into darkness (specifically, my take on the implications of bones doing what he had to do and the emotional fallout of those missing scenes) (not that ive seen it!! but ive read enough fic to know the gist of it LMAO) (can you believe this started as an impulse draw to see if i could use pastels to convey heavy emotions and now im writing a very very long headcanon in my notes app.)

Leonard goes and he plays god, and injects Jim with that godforsaken blood, and then there is nothing left to do but wait.

He sinks into the chair at his desk, and steeples his fingers together. It occurs to him that these circumstances are the sort that would drive any religious man to bow his head and clasp his hands together, like so, and pray.

--but he is a doctor, and he has never been religious, and he has a duty to do, and he has broken his oath, and there is blood on his hands and flecking his shirt.

Leonard sits very still at his desk and weeps, and he does not pray.

sorry to all of y'all who had to find out i was an angst goblin this way <///3 but basically the hc/rough fic is an extension of the angst potential of that one scene where jim wakes up and fixates on spock (and his lack of response towards bones is never addressed afterwards i think? not sure but it's an interesting premise imo)

brief summary: bones never gets closure from jim after he wakes up because jim and spock get together immediately after and it just slips their minds, so bones is stuck in "oh god jim's dying" mode and feels absolutely terrible, but the bridge crew helps a bit by being there for him to hang out with, but still bones does overwork while trying to work through the sense of wrongness of not being able to have his emotional needs met after the whole jim dying fiasco and feeling like his best friend has forgotten him. he admittedly makes good progress (by which i mean he's able to take really big overwhelming feelings and put them away well enough in his daily life to function relatively normally) but the crushing grief is always in the background. about a month or so after spirk gets together, spock accidentally brushes bones' arm and is absolutely slammed by a wave of unexpected exhaustion and emotional pain and is like ??????!!!????????? long story short he drags bones to jim and bones cries for the first time since jim "died" and it is immensely cathartic and then jim blurts out a confession because he has horrible timing and asks bones to join him and spock and obviously bones cries harder and spock is about to smack jim upside the head lmao (bones says its way too much to process and he needs time but hes not exactly opposed, and they all start spending more time together, and then eventually bones is like fuck it and asks for a kiss and they finally get together !!!!!!)

home - the bad batch

A/N: HEY GUYS, IM SCARED FOR THE NEW SEASON. So, I figured, depending on how these three episodes go, we might need some fluff, so here it is <3. The lyrics are from Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I recommend listening to it as you read! Send requests please! ENJOY!

Oh, home, let me come home

Hunter sighed as he watched Omega swing from side to side in the air, clinging to the hoop of the monkey bar. He wasn’t frustrated with Omega playing - in fact it was a very nice thing to see - in fact he wasn’t frustrated at all.

He was just watching as Wrecker teased her, causing her to giggle vigorously. Hunter could hear something about the floor being lava, and Wrecker commentating as she played.

Echo laughed as Omega swung around quickly and lunged at him, clinging to him as she squealed from Wrecker’s insistent teasing. “Wrecker!” She cried out, squirming away from his grasp and racing to hide behind Hunter. He bit his tongue in an attempt to contain the huge grin threatening to grow.

Hunter glanced up at the sky, squinting at the setting suns. The orange glow basked the town beautifully, the forest the playground was situated in alit with the gleam. The corner of his mouth lifted ever-so-slightly. “Time to head home,” he told the others, grasping Omega and hoisting her up onto his shoulders.

Home is whenever I’m with you

All of the Clones were extremely touch-starved, but most then preferred no affection. Omega, however, was the most affectionate little thing Hunter had ever seen.

As the four began walking home through the streets, Omega ranted about the new friend she’d made at the park - before Wrecker had arrived and interrupted her shenanigans. The new friend was a Clone cadet, the same age as Omega.

Of course, with the antidote the Kaminoans had injected in all of them, the cadet’s age was now one of a normal human’s. Just like Omega.

The streets of Nay Mets were filled with the sunset’s glow and streetlights, familiar and unfamiliar faces rushing through the town. Occasionally the batch saw someone they recognised and waved hello, but most of the time was spent trekking back to the house.

“Can Hera sleep over tomorrow?” Omega chirped, bending over so Hunter could see her face. She gave him her best puppy eyes, wide-eyed, lovable and unable to ignore. “Please?”

“Of course,” Hunter replied, smiling when Omega cheered loudly.

Oh, home, let me come home

It didn’t take them long to reach their house, slipping inside the unlocked door and calling for their two brothers. Tech was stood in the kitchen cooking something, humming softly. The end of the war had helped ease his humourless state, but kept all of his good features.

Crosshair was leaning against the countertop, toothpick in between his lips as he thought. Omega barrelled him over with a hug - as usual - before being a little more careful with Tech, who was spooning hot soup into bowls.

Hunter counted the bowls within a split-second, raising a brow at his brother and smirking. “Six?” He asked, and Tech smiled sheepishly. “Phee?” A nod was all the confirmation he needed.

The batch had met Phee only a few months ago, when she’d come knocking on their door in the early hours of the morning, asking for a flashlight when hers had run out. The whole family could see the instant connection between Phee and Tech, like a rope binding two bridges, destinies intertwined.

Home is whenever I’m with you

Phee arrived late - as usual - but with a big grin, stories and hugs. Omega followed her around with endless questions about her latest quest, asking about the other member to their trio - Ahsoka. Ahsoka came by occasionally, mostly for Omega and Echo. She’d recently joined Phee on her wild travels.

The family ate their soup with huge grins all around, even from Crosshair - who was masking his by remaining bent over his bowl. They washed up before finding a movie to watch, a tradition they’d created recently.

Once the movie was over, Omega insisted they head into town for a walk. The batch had quickly discovered Omega loved walks, figuring it was because she’d been so confined most of her life.

And so, they walked through the town - all six of them - for an hour, taking in the beauty of Nay Mets. Hunter watched fondly as Tech held Omega up so she could examine one of the streetlights.

He’d finally done it.

Here his family was.

Safe, and happy.

Data Soong-Star Trek: The Next Generation

Qualifications:

Many fans interpret him as autistic, including me, and he is gay. Also canonically asexual! He has only ever had one onscreen romance (Tasha Yar does not count, that was a one night stand/FWB thing), with a woman, in which the entire moral was that he was forcing himself to be someone he wasn't while in a relationship with her. His closest relationship is with Geordi LaForge, a relationship commonly interpreted as romantic or queerplatonic.

Propaganda:

Data as a character is so important to me, as an autistic queer kid. His whole storyline of wanting to be human, but never being able to be human, because there's something fundamentally different about him that causes some people to treat him as lesser and nonsentient.... very autistic. He often infodumps to people, is very blunt, experiences emotions in an unconventional way, is socially awkward, and has specific interests in things like poetry and painting. He is a very kind person, and is averse to harming even people who are direct threats to him (such as Kivas Fajo). He has a cat and writes poems about her!! He breaks the prime directive to save a little alien girl!! I cannot adequately explain how awesome this character is in words.

Propaganda:

Silly victorian gentleman hunter guy in a scifi setting. His glasses are broken in a way that makes you see his robo eye AND resembles a fancy monocle. Bri'ish for some reason. Goofy lil man who gives you sidequests and is probably the nicest person in the setting. Refined vocabulary which he occasionally peppers in swears. Fabulous facial hair. Makes jokes abt his missing limbs ("[...] my more artificial limbs may begin to rust. Hard to sneak up on prey with a squeaky prosthetic!"). Huge ADHD and tism vibes imo. Also he's gay and has an equally silly + classy husband who is also disabled so epic diversity win (old man yaoi)

A soft yawn left the witches lips as she hums to herself, dancing along with the music playing in her apartment. She was planning to have Sheldon over for the day, happy to be home even after the long touring process. Even if they were both growing into this thing called a relationship, she had a good feeling about it despite how long its been.

They started talking 3 years ago and still havent had intimacy. She didnt mind it though, she hasnt had a good experience with a man in a very long time, so when Sheldon came along, she was genuinely surprised. She will admit for the first few dates and months of their relationship or growth with getting to know each other as he called it, she waited for something to drop.

Was he an asshole? A cheater? Abusive? Anything she experienced in the past? She remembers how confused he was with her flinching the first time he hugged her. The way he reacted, immediately apologizing and rambling about the scientific positive effects of hugs brought tears to her eyes. Its been history ever since.

She was happy to be with Sheldon, everything was normal and she didnt have to worry about much. Well, as normal can get with an intelligent man such as Sheldon. He was predictable though, his routine never changed and he was just himself. Hell, she was making him his favorite and he was coming over to watch the Star Trek movie series with her, what could go wrong?

Hearing those 3 knocks and her name being called, she plates the food and answers the door with a bright smile on her face.

"Hi my love! How have you-"

"You are in BIG trouble."

A pause. A few blinks. Sheldon's face was curled up in a way of fury and Rockelle could only look at him confused.

"Did I mess with your spot crease again? I dont rememeber-"

"My comic books."

"Oh yeah! I picked one up the other day because Kimchi was trying to mess with it. What about it?"

"Rockelle."

Now Sheldon was mild mannered, sarcastic most days. Angry and Sheldon were not words you would associate with each other, so this was surprising. Her look of confusion was turned to a look of concern.

"I...Im sorry, I know Kimchi isnt supposed to be in your room, let alone me but-"

"So your dog was in my room, invading my space, AND frolicking in my comic books?! I knew something felt off with my Flash issue 73! There...There were finger prints and even toothmarks on my book! Ms. Simmonds, you are in need of a proper penalty, this is unacceptable!" He fusses and Rockelle looks around the room confused.

Did someone switch Sheldon when she wasnt looking? Shes never seen him so angry before. She knew she wasnt supposed to go in his room and she felt horrible knowing Kimchi invaded his space as well. "Im sorry dear...I was napping in your room and Kimchi wanted to join me. I should have brought him home, Im so sorry."

Sheldon's eyes softened when looking at her, letting out a sigh. "I suppose its fine. Just dont let him....in my room again. I can get another issue of that, at least he wasnt in one of my 'mint' stashes of books." He replied then she steps closer, opening her arms. "Can....can we hug it out or is that a part of the punishment?" Rockelle asks with her bottom lip poked out, pouting at him.

He looked offended, making a face at her. "Why no, of course not. I actually enjoy your touch, I wont deprive myself of that, even if I am upset." He answers, letting out a small puff of air as she rushes to hug him, murmuring little apologies as she held onto his shirt tightly. "Hey hey hey. Its okay. I just...I prefer my stuff not to be bothered in ways I dont like. Not to mention, you touched my comics without the designated gloves and I hate seeing finger prints on Harry Allen's face." He said, holding her close, rubbing her back.

"You arent mad at me?" She asks, looking up at him with a head tilt. "I cant stay mad at you. Even if my comic book smells like dog drool." She gently taps his face and pouts. "Hey. If you like, during this punishment, you take out your anger on me." She responds and Sheldon raises a brow. "Isnt that...abbrasive? I mean, anger is subjective, what if my anger is too much for you to handle? What about if I use my disappointment to fuel this instead?" He asks then she chuckles and nods.

"If it helps you. Speaking of which, what is this punishment?" She asks, tapping her chin. "Am I not allowed to watch something? Do something? The suspense is killing me." She whines and Sheldon shakes his head. "No no, that's a bit much. I think we should take it old school, thats always best." He said, leading her to the couch and having a seat.

"Old school...Old school..." Rockelle repeats, trying to think of a punishment that wasnt considered to be absurd or abusive by todays standards. "I dont have frozen peas if we are going that old school." She responds then Sheldon looks at her confused. "I am not going to make you eat frozen peas, thats cruel and unusual punishment. Not to mention it would feel like trying to chew jawbreakers." He answers then she returns the confused gaze before she shakes her head, gently holding his hand. "Well, if it isnt that, what are you thinking?"

"I am going to spank you." Sheldon responded blanky and she almost choked on air. "E-excuse me?" She responds and she turns red in the face. "Spank you. Its an old school punishment which a person must lay over the others knees and-" Sheldon explains before Rockelle interrupts. "No no, I know what it is, I just didnt expect that. O-okay." She squeaks, moving to lay over his knees.

"Are you comfortable with that? I can come up with something else, reading Geology since I cant tolerate it sounds like a nice idea as well." He responds and she shakes her head. "No no, this is okay. I...I been a bad girl and I need to be punished." She murmurs, closing her eyes as she prepared for the first hit. "Good choice, I would rather not touch that disgusting thing." He shudders as he lifts his hand for the smack.

*SMACK*

She yelped at the impact, covering her mouth. She was feeling something she never felt before and damn did it feel good. This wasnt painful, his hits didnt feel harsh...how did he manage to be so gentle despite doing something so lewd? As her mind raced with many thoughts, it quieted down with the next impact.

*SMACK*

Now this time instead of a yelp, she giggles at the hit, moving her hips. "Again please." She says and Sheldon raises a brow. "You arent supposed to be enjoying a penalty." He scolds and she bites her lip. "Oh no, I am so sorry, this is the way I cope with punishments. Maybe you should do it harder to teach me a lesson." She chirps, her tone sarcastic and Sheldon shrugs. "If it makes you enjoy this less, I will do it harder." His hand raised again.

*SMACK SMACK*

Another giggle left her lips as she felt his hand come down, a lustful smile on her lips. Oh she could get used to this.

"Count them for me, I want to make sure I dont go over 20."

"Yes daddy."

"What?!"

"What?"

IT'S. sigh. tng update time. monday we did "the next phase" and "the inner light" and last night we did "time's arrow" parts 1 & 2. for once i actually am writing this the next afternoon lol

the next phase:

i LOOOOVED this one. wow <3 for so long i have been saying THOLIAN WEB and it's NEVER tholian web but THIS TIME IT WAS!!! i kind of wish it had been riker and worf but it HAD to be geordi because of data sorta kinda tracking him down

anyway i do love ro so much so i can't be too unhappy to have gotten her, and it's so nice to see geordi get to do things that arent be creepy with a woman...im really glad they didn't try to do any ro/geordi romance, they were just buds in a situation and they were thrilled to wiggle their way out of it

ro's thots on the afterlife were actually really poignant. it seemed stupid at first, when geordi knew and she knew that they weren't dead, but by the end it really was a nice subtle touch to have her acknowledge that the certainty of her beliefs can't compare to the vastness of the unknown, or the amount of things she doesn't and may never know

absolute BALLER of a time watching the enterprise plan these guys funerals. data doing geordi's was SO sweet because he loves him!!!!! he loves him!!!!!!!!!!!! meanwhile you get to hoot and holler over riker, having fucked ro while they were all amnesia'd, absolutely wracking his brains over something appropriate to say at her funeral.........and then he just plays his trombone instead and she invisibly shoots him in the head. iconique.

the invisible romulan really got me...i THOUGHT that extra was doing a bad job of looking like he wasn't listening to geordi and ro AND THEN HE GOT UP AND WALKED AFTER THEM. extremely cool moment. it was fucking stupid that he tried to shoot them instead of just work with them but it did lead to a cool and terrifying moment where they SPACED HIM??? by virtue of him simply phasing through the wall of the ship. i would have been so terrified of windows after that. like geordi just straight up killed that guy

also, fight scene while the romantic couple blissfully has their date. incredible.

some logistics questions: if they were alive why couldn't deanna feel their emotions? also, if they phase through stuff why do they stick to floors? more questions than answers...

the inner light

you know, this was good actually. i'll admit i was kind of bored at times during this episode, because i don't super care about picard As A Character, so all his tender moments with his wife and family were like eeehh. who cares. and since i like the side characters more the episode that pretty much didn't have them is a bit of a hard sell

THAT SAID. conceptually this popped off. it reminds me of the buffy episode where she's in the nut house or the r*ddit lamp story which hilariously references the star trek episode in the edit. the changes like the tree and the dead plants on their house and the skill involved in picard's flute playing (i wonder if sir patrick stewart can actually play...) were cool to track even if some of the interpersonal moments fell flat, and i REALLY like the actress who played his daughter, i think she did a great job

i normally hate old person makeup but picard's actually looked pretty good until the very end stage lol

one thing i wished for in the end was a little more emotion or even some fallout at all?? which i feel like i say about tng all the time, and i KNOW tos was also guilty of this sometimes, but some tng episodes spend AGES on the scifi technobabble (which is good only if it serves the plot OR adds to the scifi concept presented, and it often does neither) and then feel like emotionally they need another 5 or 10 minutes at the end and it drives me nuts. like, ik they don't cry in this show but he didn't even cry. deanna didn't come in and tell him those memories and that time were still real to him and it was okay to be fucked up about them. no one asked him how long he held onto the memory of his other life before he gave in completely and became kamin. we didn't even get any lines about like "i'll contact starfleet and do everything in my power to help revive their culture" or whatever. just flute scene (which was good!) and then we're done. sigh.

also, i really hate whatever riker has going on with picard. like he's so weirdly overprotective and it doesn't even speak to affection, they way it would with say deanna or worf or one of his other creew mates, it feels infantilizing (making picard seem even LESS competent and compelling than he already does), smothering, and, because it's ONLY with picard and ONLY riker that does this, it doesn't even feel like poignant platonic love-and-duty mixing like in the tos movies where each and every one of kirk's crew is willing to commit crimes and risk their lives to go after spock's body, just because that's how loyalty works. it's so awkward and uncomfortable, i hate it. like i always say tng doesn't have enough displays of affection and then the one time they regularly do have riker displaying concern for another character it's whatever he's doing with picard. like picard is his frail old man grandpa and riker's trying to keep him from wandering off with the car keys. sigh again.

time's arrow:

a massive disappointment. or maybe i can't say disappointment if my hopes weren't high to begin with. i remember reading the summary and thinking "cool, a data episode!" but also "19th century earth? yeesh, sounds holodeck-y," and i was right on both counts.

again it's a problem that we did the s5 finale and then s6 opening in a single night, because it made it feel MUCH longer, and it's also impossible for me to differentiate ebtween the two episodes now. hopefully this is the last time it will work out this way, but generally speaking, aside from the borg episodes, all of tng's two-parters (there may be an exception i'm forgetting) have been uh. not great.

star of this show: DATA'S HEAD. i remember being so disappointed we didn't get to see it in that episode where riker had to carry it around BEING SEEING IT WAS HORRIFIC. i can't believe they put that on television!!!

the emotion stakes of data's impending death were good. i wish they'd mattered! geordi trying to fix him could have had a little more desperation, a little more "i'll cheat fate itself for my friend if i have to." actually the person who showed the most worry WAS picard, and while this was nice, it made no sense that he allowed data to go down to the planet regardless of it, and then...also advocated that they forget data and focus on their mission, even against RIKER'S request to keep looking for him. riker showed concern for someone other than picard and picard was like yeah um whatever. today in picard crimes: advocating for leaving one of his guys behind. sorry to keep comparing him to kirk but EVERY time kirk lost a guy, you felt it. you saw HIM feel it. not even a guy he was close to like spock, even just a little red shirt, you knew he was thinking of the fucking letters he'd have to write to their families, you know? meanwhile picard is just like "um what concern? that was 20 minutes ago, we have scifi stuff to do now."

19th century earth sucked. it DID feel holodeck-y and was only marginally better because at least the stakes here were real, poorly illustrated as they were. like you know data's not gonna die, but instead of focusing on the enemies this episode (and that tall lady genuinely was a bit spooky...too bad she had no lines) we farted around with the most annoying portrayal of mark twain i have EVER seen in my life. we also got cool lines such as beverly saying "cholera wasn't THAT infectious" and the native american guy at the poker table grunting "pale face" at data. super.

guinan was a GREAT change of pace, but we had a golden opportunity to get more backstory on her and got absolutely none of it. that one line about her father intrigued me so much - is this before the borg ate her planet? does she regret not reconciling with him? did he die in that attack? why is she at odds with him? was this why she wasn't at home when they ate her planet? imagine if we had gotten some of it and picard had been tempted to save her whole planet by urging them to evacuate, or at least telling her to spend time with her loved ones while she could...but instead we had to focus on mark twain being ~quirky and randumb XD~

in the end, the consequences of data's head spending 500 years underground were...nothing. except that picard got to leave himself a back to the future 3 message not to shoot the aliens i guess

SPEAKING OF THE ALIENS. did he just WIPE OUT their entire species without a single fucking word breathed about the prime directive? genuinely the aliens who were eating people were cool and spooky. i'd have liked to see more of them and we barely knew what they were and what their purpose was. so much for working it out nonviolently. picard made half an attempt and the lady alien died and he shrugged and was like oh well! genocide it is. add to this to the list of problematic picard stances, including advocation for euthanasia of the disabled, conversation therapy, human trafficking, animal testing, and leaving your guys behind to die. THEY HAVE GOT TO STOP MAKING HIM LIKE THIS. this is killing me. i'm trying my very very best to like him and i hate his ass!!

next time: i, alone, am doing "realm of fear" which i am told is a barclay episode and "man of the people" which seems rapey. i am in total dread. tng is fantastic every once in a great great while, but most of the time i cannot wait for it to be over.

Astarion Ancunin (Baldur's Gate 3) - getting the obvious one out of the way early. you put a character in front of me who gets mad at you for being good and kind because no one has ever been that to him, who is a bitch and that's a feature not a bug, and im not supposed to become deeply obsessed with that? he is everything. to me.

Gideon Nav (The Locked Tomb) - tamsyn muir WHEN will my wife come back from the war? Devotion even when you hate it. Being a weapon in more ways than even you are aware of. Love when you don't know what love is, really, getting it wrong and right at the same time. Gideon @ Harrow is just "its rotten work. especially to me especially if its you. i'll fucking do it but christ alive."

Murderbot (The Murderbot Diaries) - i think i am one of the only people who thinks that Murderbot is on the fem-presenting side of androgynous but i do think that and i'm right. I haven't read the latest book yet. Being forced to interrogate an in-between space, Murderbot's "dont look at me" in combination with vulnerability, the desire to cut and run and figure yourself out and then, like. not actually figuring yourself out much. did the running help? did escaping do anything? or should you have stayed?

Stede Bonnet (Our Flag Means Death) - Cringefail fuck-up pirate my beloved, i hate watching him do things it's like looking in a mirror. Theater kid playing dress up, steeped in self-doubt and trying to get everyone to talk about their feelings. In season one he looks at his own life and says "is anyone going to ruin this?" and doesn't wait for an answer. I want to kiss him in the moonlight. Every time I think about him I want to throw up. <3

Keyleth (Critical Role) - The weight of the world on her shoulders because she's been raised to lead her people, and all that simmering rage she tries to keep under wraps, and then she only gets a tiny bit of time with the person she loves before she has to live for years and years and years and watch everyone she cares about leave her. Archdruids with timeless body are an existential nightmare.

Alex Louis Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist) - okay listen. when i rewatched fmab in college, I was fully ready to fall in love with Riza. I was very surprised when I realized that it was not the badass with the gun I was fixated on, but the. big muscle-y guy who cries a lot and gets used for comic relief 60% of the time. but. im here. i love him. the ishval flashbacks got to me.

Blue (This is How You Lose the Time War) - Loving someone enough you're willing to let them close enough to kill you. The inherent rot beneath blooming things. Taking the slow path. Not leaving well enough alone. Love, but with teeth. I'm so normal about her (lying)

Cora Sabino (Noumena Series) - I wish I could tell everyone to read Axiom's End because I loved it, but I cant because the sequel fucked me up so bad. Its good! but god the atmosphere is so oppressive and Cora's struggle with depression is extremely real for an alternate history story that asks the question "what if we found out aliens were real during the bush administration?" I was legitimately unwell.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars) - I just think he's the funniest guy with a laser sword. so repressed. had one of the most grey-jedi masters to ever do the damn thing. bitchy. the chosen one is his padawan. honestly he had to know anakin was sneaking out to canoodle with padme and just decided it wasn't his problem. calls himself fucking ben on the hell sand planet. why was he like that.

Spock (Star Trek) - this is the most "i just think he's neat" of all of them. i inherited this blorbo. this blorbo was handed down to me from my mom. he was hers first, im just picking up the torch. "guy who acts like he has no emotions but every seven years enters a fuck or die frenzy" im sorry but that's. that's too good. i have no choice but to rotate him in my mind.

I think when it comes to fanfiction and when it's x reader (not OC) people will always look at you weird. Bc to them they never thought about reading something where they're putting themselves in the perspective of being loved or just having fun with their favorite character.

Lots of people day dream but I've learned that lots of others don't. And most people dream about obtaining stuff they've never had or have had so little of it but they crave more, be it: having a friend, being in a relationship, a new game they've played at a friend's house bc they can't afford it, etc etc.

So most of the time the people who don't day dream are the ones saying: why are you reading x reader fanfiction? Isn't that cringe? That's so weird.

Man, all of us reading x reader fanfiction just want to be loved by our favorite character (s). Most of us have never had a meaningful relationship or none at all at the age of 20s, 30s, 40s etc.

Also it comes with going deep within a fandom. When u dig deep and make an account at Twitter/Tumblr you will see takes, fan art and even FANFICTION. stuff u may have never experienced before. You didn't know that shit existed.

Again, most people who criticize fanfic have never dug deep into a fandom. It's a thing that's always been there. Every fandom will have fanfiction. Believe me. That's why I don't like talking to guys who like marvel and star wars like me. Like okay i enjoy it but i don't feel comfortable enough in telling them oh i read fanfiction. Bc im pretty sure they don't even know what that is and I'm not gonna be the one to explain it.

One time i joked with an internet friend how talking to guys about those fandoms is like:

Me: i love the mandalorian (the character)

Them: oh yeah!!! He's so cool

Me: no u don't get it. I need mando to fuck me 😐

When it comes to OC people are more okay with it. Bc they're not imagining themselves. They're just imagining someone else. Like in a book. But when it comes to x reader it's different bc you either do imagine yourself or imagine someone made up from your mind. And people are not really prone to imagine themselves.

I love x reader but personally i don't imagine myself. But that's another story.

Idk where i was going with this but people should know fanfiction exist and they shouldn't be icky about it. It's normal. It's been here since the 60s (star trek). (Actually it's been here for longer but that'sss another story). Idk sorry if this doesn't make sense...

I've always been very open about writing fanfiction, all my friends and parents know. Even my professor knew I wrote it, and I think that me talking freely and being proud of it somewhat took their need to make fun of it and the power behind it, though I also understand that can't be the case for everyone

I really don't understand why people think x reader is cringe. Believe me when I writer character x character or x OC fic I'm also putting my personality into that character, or parts of it at least. That's what makes fanfic fun and you can't really say one is cringe and the other isn't imo, it's all fanfic.

I've only been in one terrible relationship my entire like and fanfic has helped me out tremendously so I feel you there <3

And honestly I'm so immersive when reading/consuming content that I can put myself into it immediately, so it's hard for me to imagine that other's don't. It doesn't matter to me who's pov I'm reading it from, or who it is. Maybe I'm just lucky in that aspect, but you might be right in saying that people just don't want to think of themselves directly and want to do it through a third party instead.

Experiencing fandom is truly an adventure it can go bad or good, luckily I've been experiencing good things so far with a couple of bumps! And to be fair I live in Turkey where fanfic and fandom is pretty much nonexistent, It's much more known now in the US and Europe

I agree that people shouldn't judge when they hear fanfic. It helps to understand yourself better and I can imagine some people not really liking the freedom of it.

okay. this is going to be long. because i have an above-average number of thoughts. somehow a joke headcanon became a major element of how i draw fv fanart and it's not leaving anytime soon

so, real quick: what are lumians? lumians/lumins/lumiens are an alien species made collectively by the yogscast fandom. i admittedly don't know a lot about the origins because i was mostly in the flux buddies corner of the fandom in 2015, but the general idea is: Xephos, one of the protagonists of Shadow of Israphel, is referred to as "spaceman" several times by other characters. what this is supposed to be is a reference to the fact that xephos's very first skin was william riker from star trek, and the person playing him has always intended for him to be human afaik. what the fandom took this as is "oh, yep, he's an alien, he crash-landed on minecraftia and honeydew found him". the generally agreed-upon traits of a lumian are glowing eyes & bioluminescent freckles, usually pointy ears, and sometimes tails and paws.

now that we have this context out of the way, rewind to me watching through fixxiverse for the first time totally blind. 3 videos in i get to 100 Days Colony Edition, which opens with an escape pod landing on a planet after an accident and the protagonist, a member of the crew, stumbling around trying to orient himself on this new world. so im ALREADY losing my mind

and then we get to one (1) line Ross says offhandedly:

"I have no idea what these things are, but I'm fairly certain they eat spacemen for midnight snack."

at which point i go SPACEMAN? LUMIAN FIX LOL? and latch onto this concept with all of the strength in my puny body.

This action will have consequences.

i get to Lore of Tovalyn and go, oh hey, these are the guys that're on the same ship Ross was! okay, they're lumians now too. because at this point i have no context for anything asides from "these guys are from space in a setting where that's an oddity". ramirez's phrasing when talking about the wandering traders on tovalyn in colony edition made it sound like just the wandering traders were descended from the sheriff crew, so i constructed a plotline in my head where tovalyn was populated by normal humans and the wandering traders were part lumian and were in hiding and pretending to be normal humans to avoid the wrath of the inquisitors. makes sense so far.

a quick sidebar: while watching 100 Days Mage Edition, i called a shot that bob is fred's grandpa (percy tells him "You were named Bob after your grandfather" in 100 Days Fallout Bunker, which was later clarified to be as a "close friend of the family" meaning and not a biological relation meaning but later was "after i'd ran with it A Lot"), which meant that percy was bob's son and therefore half-lumian, and therefore fred is also part lumian. this is why i draw fred with glowy freckles despite him otherwise looking human.

back on track: i now have this fully-fledged narrative in my brain that is entirely based off a joke headcanon i had before i knew everything was one big connected storyline. then we get to the end of 1 Year Of Minecraft, and uh.. oop. turns out everyone's human. that's a canonical plot point. they are all from original earth, and the inquisitors' plan to cause the singularity was specifically to terraform planets on a wide scale so that humankind would be spread throughout the cosmos and free from potential extinction. ramirez outright states that there was no other life out there until after the singularity.

strange new worlds episode 1 onions:

i know so far im riding on the nostalgia wave and i'll probably end up liking the show Less than i do now but . . . this is literally all i ever wanted from a trek show

(well ALL i ever wanted also includes jim but they're not giving him to us for a number of reasons)

on the one hand it feels like they're cramming all the characters want to see into one place but ON THE OTHER HAND !!!!

we finally got to see m'benga im so happy

i really like uhura so far she's so nerdy and enthusiastic which is a welcome change. she's younger in the snw timeline and this is a great way to show it, im excited to see her character develop. (and im so happy we're spared from spuhura even if it means s'pring which actually deserves its own paragraph)

T'PRING MY ABSOLUTE BELOVED she's stunning !!!! the hair the jewelry the outfice she's just as elegant and sophisticated as in tos which is so good to see. idk abt her characterisation yet seeing as she had 2 scenes total in this episode but hhhhhh im not sure if this is my favourite spock/t'pring dynamic ever. ik my opinions are heavily clouded by my existing preferences but i just feel the need to give spock a love interest is... unnecessary. is2g kurtzman is deathly afraid of spock being shipped with m*n there's no other explanation. but yeah i feel like the established relationship takes away a lot from the dynamic, but it also gives opportunity for t'pring to have her own personality and inner conflicts outside of her relationship with spock OR stonn

ORTEGAS??? MA'AM?? i am looking very respectfully . . . i'll be very mad if she's just snw's version of tig notaro's character in dis (snarky butch with a high one liner per minute speed) but she's. very handsome. i desperately want to see more of her

(also im sooooo disappointed by the way pike & spock's dynamic is handled by snw so far give me hero worship !!!! give me mentor figure !!!!! speaking of)

spock.... look how they massacred my boy.... i know it's impossible to satisfy tos/aos fans because it's not The Spock, and im completely biased in this regard, but its just a complete 180 from dis!spock who is literally autistic tormented by vision locked up in an asylum FORCED TO GO ON A UNIVERSE SAVING QUEST BECAUSE DESTINY IS UNAVOIDABLE and snw's straightwashed well adjusted spock. once again this is only the first episode and i might be completely wrong about everything but idk idk . ethan peck is a great actor tho and it's nice to see his interpretation of all the little spock mannerisms. his delivery feels as a kind of in-between between tos and aos!spocks in that he is much less emo than aos but also not the fully established tos!spock who is 100% comfortable in his skin. also the moment on the alien planet where he randomly let out an inhuman (sic!) shriek because he was in a lot of pain and then immediately went back to normal?? what was that about :/

also sam !!!!!!! im so desperate to know how the kirks are doing in this timeline !!!!! i have a very clear characterisation of him in my mind that's 99% fanon but im trying to have an open mind abt him. wheres jim.... how is winona doing....

im probably forgetting soooo much of what i wanted to say but yeah so far i have no trust in kurtzman & goldman and where this show is going to go but it IS exciting for me as you can clearly see from this fucking essay

here’s part 1 of 5 of my mediocre, slightly inaccurate, horribly blurry diagrams. (in my defense i got the enstars icons from one of the appellations pages)

Madara founded the agency after finding Leo (somehow) and it grew from there. (think origins of the detective agency)

Leo is a prodigy detective but it’s like a hit-or-miss whether he’ll help on regular cases which is why the agency is A Whole Thing

Kanata and Madara were childhood friends like in canon, including the cult thing. Kanata’s ability has the healing element of Thou Shalt Not Die, but instead of the catch being that the victim had to be half-dead, kanata either has to use water to heal them, or consume some of their blood. (slight reference to stuff from meteor impact because i think it fits thematically with the bsd setting)

kanata and madara lost touch with the beginning of the great war (same war as in bsd canon) but eventually reconnected and kanata joined the agency

ok. heres one of the reasons i called this slightly inaccurate. yall need to know that when i make aus its never exactly 1:1 with the characters. example in question: ritsumao. just think... their normal dynamic in enstars canon, but they join the agency instead of becoming idols. ritsu uses light snow to pretend he’s working and mao always slaps him to dispel the illusion

trickstar are just there. theyre like the background workers of the agency

anzu is haruno because shes potentially plot relevant (do not ask me who natsume-sensei/mii-chan is i do not fucking know. probably the godfather)

HiMERU honestly fits the Normal Guy (actually has problems). that’s part of why he’s kunikida. the other part of why is rinne.

Rinne is ex-mafia because he’s dazai here and im not making a completely new plot, thats why its a bsd au and not something totally different. He uses mafia money to gamble and everyone is all like Where Does He Get The Money??? he spends half his work hours annoying HiMERU and the other half annoying Niki.

Sora is just some kid. he introduces Leo to video games and everyone watches with trepidation (it actually makes Leo more productive)

Kohaku... is sort of ex-mafia. His family operates a highly successful business in killing people. Kohaku has never killed anyone. In the interests of the mafia, they send him to assassinate Madara. he gets offered a job instead.

Tsukasa goes after Kohaku to get him to return and ends up... also getting a job.

And Cafe Cinnamon:

Niki just works here. He doesn’t get paid to deal with all this shit. (he does get free total access to the kitchen at all times.)

Aira joins later (more on that in part 3). He helps Niki out around the cafe and ends up entangled in the agency’s problems way more often than he would like.

also speaking of being weird and feral about star trek i went to check the menagerie transcript for something ... and also i’ve had two memory alpha pages open for weeks... anyway i’m still feral about this episode so if you want to witness me being Very Unhinged and speculating flagrantly on the (im)probable occurrence of makeouts and sucking of dicks on alien planets and/or in starfleet storage closets and alternate timelines and somehow just a weird unnecessary incoherent rambling contrarian... here you go

so the menagerie takes place towards the start of year 3 of the enterprise’s 5 year mission, so spock’s been serving with kirk as captain for three years.

- for reference, year 3 of spock’s service on the enterprise with pike as captain was around the events of s2 of discovery (spock started serving on the enterprise in 2254 -- the same year as the events of the cage on talos iv -- and the events of season 2 of discovery are in 2257) so kirk in year 3 is like ‘my first officer would never lie (except would he? maybe?)’ and pike in year 3 is like ‘my science officer would never murder people and your video evidence is wrong, im taking my ship on the run about it’ step. the fuck. up. kirk.

okay okay so what was i actually checking in the transcript was this

MENDEZ: You ever met Chris Pike?

KIRK: When he was promoted to Fleet Captain.

MENDEZ: About your age. Big, handsome man, vital, active.

KIRK: I took over the Enterprise from him. Spock served with him for several years.

SPOCK: Eleven years, four months, five days.

okay, so a lot of things about this

first of all, pike’s age makes no damn sense. from his wiki:

“Pike was said to be "about [Kirk's] age" as of 2267 in "The Menagerie, Part I", which suggested a birth date around the late 2220s or early 2230s, however, it was later indicated in Star Trek: Discovery that he was already in the Academy by the early 2220s.A biography of Pike was included on the Star Trek movie app. According to that source, he was born in 2205, to Charles and Willa Pike, and spent part of his childhood living on the planet Elysium.“

timelines are good when i like them and they’re funny otherwise im just not going to try

second of all, mendez’s third thing on pike is ‘handsome’ like. okay. good that we got your take on that. incredible

third, I know spock knowing how long he served under pike down to the day is a ‘spock is very precise guy with facts and figures’ but also. im emotional about it. e l e v e n y e a r s and he knows it down to the day.

okay okay so the actual point here is ‘You ever met Chris Pike?’ ‘When he was promoted to Fleet Captain.’

so kirk is basically implying that he only met Pike at his promotion ceremony. which. I think snw should happily ignore off the cuff one lines in s2 and beyond if it lets them tell fun stories, which i think it will. but I also think it’s entirely fair to say that kirk is just semi-bullshitting / giving the short instance of the most recent time he met pike, just based on the moment after

When he’s in the room with pike, mendez refers to him as captain pike when introducing the others (and spock also refers to him as captain pike)

kirk, however, immediately refers to him as chris. which - yes, kirk refers to mendez by his first name, jose, even though he’s his superior officer, and mendez refers to him as jim, but the vibe i get from that is that they know each other prior to this, and not just meeting at a formal promotion. kirk doesn’t normally go around immediately first naming officers - and he refers to him as captain pike when talking to others, but this is a personal interaction.

KIRK: Chris, if there's anything I can do for you.

that’s right off the bat. I would take that as the implication that they know each other better than just having met at a promotional meeting. And that’s consistent with the rest of the episode, where he tends to be taking pike seriously and consistently asking for his input, and also using his first name when he’s talking directly to him, but usually not when he’s talking to others, which is an interesting distinction

(sidenote ‘MENDEZ: He went in bringing out all those kids that were still alive.’ I take that as pike not bing in the site of the engineering failure, but *going in* and I have some feelings about that)

what was i saying? oh yeah anyway 1) kirk indicates he’s met pike in passing 2) he actually knows pike personally and is being weird about saying that and then 3) they’ve definitely made out

could they just have a good working friendship? yeah! of course! we love that here! but hey a) i told yall there was flagrant speculation about makeouts and b) listen i know it’s an alternate future timeline but at the end of the s1 finale, out of Several Normal Sitting Places kirk chooses to perch on the *footstool* like he’s right about to jump on pike’s lap at the first opportunity and im i just?? supposed to?? Ignore that? here?? in my unhinged ramblings about a star trek episode that contains the footage of another, horny star trek episode? absolutely not

anyway the rest of the episode

“MENDEZ: You have something to report, Miss Piper?

PIPER: Oh, yes, sir. I'm afraid our investigation turned up very little, Commodore. There is, of course, Mister Spock's years of service with Captain Pike. Indications of his extreme loyalty to this former commander.”

hey im very fine and normal about this being the thing that comes up in, yknow, a brief investigation into what’s going on. what the hell is in the files that that’s the conclusion you draw from looking at it for a few minutes. cool cool cool i hope the snw writers are continuing to have Fun with That

(thank you, personally, from the bottom of my heart for every moment of utter Ride Or Die these two have in discovery and snw)

i’ve already mentioned the absolutely unhinged part of this episode that is showing the entirety of the cage in all its horny glory

the telepathic talosians, who want to breed a servile race of humans, tapping into the subconscious of chris pike to try to create illusory scenarios to get him to fuck vina and then keep fucking her forthwith. and failing but, just. yknow. extended illustration of kinks and preferences.

perfectly normal thing to show at a starfleet hearing. definitely. definitely a normal thing to spock to pull up as evidence that has to be shown. checks out. sure that happens at lots of starfleet hearings.

yes obviously they just wanted to show their unaired pilot but hey sensible doylist explanations isnt what you’re here for youre here for unhinged nonsense

so was this the talosian’s idea? yes. obviously. they live for drama. they accepted that they weren’t going to be able to rebuild their society by breeding a new servile race and just decided fuck it, we’re going to make popcorn and watch the most messy drama we can. these are the people who had spock and michael ‘pay’ for fixing spock’s brain with painful dramatic childhood memory.

they were definitely like ‘yes let’s not show a short simplified version to illustrate the nature of our technology and that pike knows us, let’s make sure we show the horny version’

and spock was like ‘yeah okay this is a fine thing to show onscreen for me, captain pike aka the guy it happened to, my current captain kirk, an illusion of a starfleet commodore, and some poor starfleet ensign transcribing the hearing who’s having a weird fuckin day. this is a perfect delaying tactic to make sure we get to talos iv’

there’s no way this isn’t weird but it’s slightly -slightly- less weird if you assume that most of the people watching this have seen pike in a more *cough* intimate context than just trying to have sex with him

yeah im saying they’ve both fucked pike prior to this point and im also saying that hey, putting on a viewing of the kink tape is, yknow, a logical thing to do if you’re intending to encourage all of you fuck again when you’re on the surface of the holographic fuck planet

Here in no particular order is my fail safe opinionated and completely flawed list of films I enjoyed the most last year. There are a lot of films I did not see, so for all “A Serious Man” and “Antichrist” lovers IM SORRY I DIDNT GET AROUND TO WATCHING THEM! They are on my ilovefilm list, honest. There are also some films missing which I thought were okay, but did not find them as effecting as others, e.g “Let The Right One In” and “Up” but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy them, it just means I am a heartless bitch. Also my memory sucks so I probably left loads out too.

Drag me to hell!

An entertaining B movie pastiche of disgustingness and stupidity with Mr Raimi returning to his “Evil Dead” esque horror comedy roots after the awful “Spiderman 3.” Plus the heroine does battle with a evil handkerchief, and we all love it when linen goes bad.

Moon

Starring lots of Sam Rockwells and Kevin Spacey’s REALLY creepy voice, it’s budget allowed special effects which make “Red Dwarf” seem sophisticated but is a highly original and character driven Sci-Fi film. Yes, it was made by David Bowies son.

Zombie land

Best Bill Murray cameo I can remember.

Inglorious Basterds

This film got bafflingly average reviews despite the fact it is a complete return to form after the film about Kirk Russel killing women WITH HIS CAR!

The acting displayed from Christoph Waltz would make Daniel Day Lewis weep into his cobblers shoes, and the scene in which the “Basterds” are undercover in the German bar….I was literally hanging off my seat, about to fall unto the floor, gripping the chair of the arm scared…..it was unrelentingly good. Even my mum liked it, and her favorite film is “Shirley Valentine.”

The Hurt Locker

This Katherine Bigelow piece tracks a bomb defusal squad in Iraq and although I am unsure about its slightly one sided patriotic message, it is still an educational, gripping and somewhat disturbing insight into the American army.

Frost/Nixon

One of my favorite films of last year, I knew little to nothing about Watergate or Nixon himself and this film made me learn things which normally I hate! plus Michael Sheen is always an incredibly watch-able and charismatic presence.

Star Trek

It could have sucked, it could have been a sacrilegious experience, but it was entertaining and sensitive to its origins.

Where The Wild Things Are

This is a incredibly brave and incredibly heartbreaking film which shows that Mr Jonze does not bend to the will of studios, it explores the confusion of childhood so perfectly and really pulls the “Stand By Me” esque punches. Perfect. BRING TISSUES.

In The Loop

I love Armando Iannucci very hard, plus its nice to know what “My Girl” is up to. The political ramifications this film depicts are also somewhat terrifying.

Hunger

I love Michael Fassbender very hard as well, and this biopic of political prisoner and hunger strike participant Bobby Sands is a uneasy viewing experience… he was also great in the disturbing “Eden Lake.”

Milk

A heartbreakingly beautiful biopic with the guy from High School Musical.

Public Enemies

There was something about this which sparked me despite its glaring errors and flaws (e.g filming on digital and Christian “continually disappointing” Bale.) I think its the unrelenting charisma of Marion Cottilard and Johnny Depp.

Coraline

A incredibly terrifying “kids” film with wreaths of imagination and darkness to boot.

My Least Favourite Film of the Year: (500) Days of Summer. It has to be seen to be believed how try hard and awful it is. I would recommend going out and watching it right now, honestly. Do it.

OK normally i'd put like 20000 paragraphs of lore for my ocs BUT if i gotta do THREE, its gonna be brief descriptions ok

alright lets start with Tally, one of my star wars babies. Anger Issues incarnate. She was technically a survivor of Order 66, the jedi genocide, but she was so young at the time at like 3 years old, she remembers little to nothing. I don't think kids are usually started in training that young, but even at 3 years old she had anger issues & had to start early.

Her lack of training, the fact she was only in the jedi temple for maybe 2 months & her not really using her powers keeps her safe. She doesn't even have a lightsaber. She lives in an old republic corvette w/ a single clone trooper who's basically her surrogate father, & a crew of droids that she keeps in working order. She basically grew up w/ an old astromech that belonged to her Jedi trainer & loves it more than anything. She & her father make a living as scavengers & scrappers. Also she's still angry a lot & picks fights whenever she's on a planet. She'll break ur arm if ur so much as rude to her

idk how much Star Trek you've watched or lore u know so long story short; Trill are an alien species that evolved alongside another sentient species on their homeworld. Symbionts can be surgically inserted into Trill to become a symbiotic duo, but few are chosen.

Vama spent the first 18 years of her life on Trill (the planet, idk why they called the species and planet the same name) training to be a Host, since it can be taxing. Once they're joined with a Symbiont, they gain all the memories of the Symbiont's previous hosts. Preparing for that & learning to separate your identity takes time. (Ezri Dax from My Username & Profile Picture Fame got the Dax symbiont without training & she has trouble differentiating between herself and other previous host's memories.)

The majority of trainees don't get Symbionts, purely bc there are far less Symbionts than Trill. Vama was pretty far into her training & would've eventually been approved to get a Symbiont eventually, but she didn't want to wait half her life. She left on her 19th birthday & eventually got into petty crime, but nothing violent. She quickly found a talent in starship racing & joins a lot of illegal races. She buys & heavily modifies her own shuttle to race and live in, Like an RV if RVs were also used for racing. She can't afford a fully sized starship but she enjoys her mobile life in her shuttle.

Eventually she got herself caught & arrested by a small starfleet ship. While imprisoned there, another Trill who had a Symbtiont died & Vama volunteered to be the next host to ensure it wouldn't die on the trip back to Trill. After a brief medical check on Trill she used a legal loophole to get out of any prison time. The Symbiont, as a sentient being that can't be un-joined without Vama's death, can't be imprisoned for a crime it wasn't involved in. So Vama went free.

She has a habit of talking to her Symbiont even though she doesn't need to, something she picked up from it's very first host. She doesn't exclusively race in legal races, but she gravitates towards them more even though it doesn't give her quite the same adrenaline rush. She does want to keep Tix, the symbtiont, safe.

she's got the Least lore here, so u get 3 pictures. She's the GF of Charlie, my canon Saints Row character, but isn't a direct part of The Saints themselves. More like an ally.

She does legal work as a security guard after a stint as a cop, which she hated & left before even completing training. These days she works mall security, bar & club security, stuff like that & provides insider info to The Saints about security systems & stuff like that.

Whenever she does join them on a job she'll wear a stolen Idols helmet to keep her identity hidden. In fact she'll wear it whenever she's around a Saint that isn't Charlie & won't use her name around them. She's just not interested in joining in full, but just doesn't care about the places she works at.
