Groose AU pt15: Sweet, Hylia, item, trading

Impa and Linebeck II slowly climb out of the boat that fell from the sky while dave flys down and lands on Linebeck head

Linebeck II: I’m alive?

Dave: Unfortunately for us yes you are *chirp*

Impa: Both you shut up I’m trying not to-

Groose: IMPA!

Impa: Great now I’m hearing Groose, how hard did I hit my head

Dave: Well we did fall from the sky *Bird sound*

Groose is running towards them

Groose: IMPA!

Impa: Great now I’m seeing him

Linebeck:Oh I see him too

Impa: Wait what? GROOSE?

Impa starts running to groose

I was going to color Impa but decided not to because I didn’t feel like it and I wanted to finish my Gwen Stacy drawing first, after I finished the drawing of Gwen I still didn’t feel like coloring her. 😐

Had a dream last night that Skyward Sword Link fell to the surface in his childhood and Zelda grew up training herself to go and find him one day. Zelda had the goddess sword and whenever she used it it would catch on fire, like the sword was responding to Zelda's status as reincarnation of the goddess and her holy rage. Zelda just jumped off of Skyloft one day with the sail cloth, harp, and goddess sword when she was ready to go look for Link. Fi was holding her hand as they fell. I am pretty sure Link had amnesia, and got "she looks familiar" feelings around Zelda. Ghirahim was trying to get rid of Link for being a nuisance. Zelda was pissed off. Idk young Impa's relationship with Link, but Link called older Impa grandma in a way someone would call a parental figure grandma. Zelda was PISSED OFF. Ghirahim was afraid of pissed off Zelda to some degree, oh shit that sword is on FIRE she has realized to some degree that she has holy powers RUN. Zelda and Links roles were swapped kinda and yet not? Zelda had the sword and was still the mortal goddess, Link was still the chosen knight but going through many situations canon Zelda did in Skyward Sword. It was a very epic dream

Skyward Sword Zelda is such a tragic figure in my opinion. Just put yourself in her shoes and imagine this.

It's the best day of your life. Your dearest friend, dork that he is, has finally become a knight. It's what every kid on Skyloft works towards and he finally did it. You're so proud of him. When you fly together, you muster up the courage to tell him you love him.

You never get the chance.

Instead you're whisked away into a world you believed was left behind, and saved by a woman who declares that she is your guardian, chosen by you. You have never met her before. You didn't even know there were people like you who lived down here, in the Surface.

"You must purify yourself if you are to transcend time and hold the seal," the mysterious woman with the painted tear remarks as she shepherds you through strange destinations unlike anything your books have ever taught you, "it was your will." No matter how many times she tells you this, in every iteration the language could allow, it doesn't make sense. Why would a goddess need to turn human? What could you do, that she could not?

Where does divinity and humanity diverge?

Connection.

A goddess is revered by her people who pray, in spite of her silence, for her benevolence and guidance. She is their unwavering stone, a higher power to rely on. But a girl? A girl is loved. She is someone tangible, a figure who people will see, and know, and care about, and fight for.

And that's when it clicks. Your friend isn't really your friend at all, but a hero, a pawn, who was intended to be used against an enemy of yours you no longer recognize.

You're using him. You've been using him all this time. It's sickening.

With each prayer, with each goddess damned spring you rush to, you are faced with your own marbled reflection, a testament to the fact your humanity is only a pretense, carefully timed to ensnare your friend into a hero's fate.

He doesn't seem to understand that though. He keeps running after you like the fool he is, hoping to save Zelda, his precious Zelda, that you no longer are. The smile you wear becomes harder to hold. You were Hylia first, and that is all you will ever be.

You play into the charade anyways. After all, Zelda was the reason why he went through his trials. To tell him now that she was gone would mean to destroy everything you had worked for. So you tell him everything he wants to hear: that you're your father's daughter, that you're his friend, that you're his Zelda.

And when you close your eyes, smiling from within the amber and ignoring the dull thuds of his fist against its surface, you wonder if you look anything like the statue you and your love had stood upon on the best day of your life.

"Maybe all of this is a dream," you wonder while drifting in between millennia. Time passes like the waterfalls in Skyloft, rapid, yet everlasting. Maybe you'd wake up in your bed in the Academy again. Your love would have been sleeping in (again) and everything would be how it used to be. You could be Zelda once more. And most importantly, Hylia would be nothing beyond a giant statue for you to ignore for the rest of your days.

... There's something to be said about how you fall again once you wake up.

"What kind of goddess am I," you think crudely, "to sever my own wings?"

But this time, your love is there to catch you. And he does. In that moment you pray, in your own name, he doesn't let you go.

Groose AU pt16: I was where?

Zelda(sun) and Link(sky) are sitting in the sealed grounds as Impa tells them about Groose

Old Impa: After that-

Zelda(sun): Wait so you kissed him after punching him?

Old Impa: hehe yes took him by surprise

Link: That must have been a surprises for everyone there

Old Impa: Indeed especially for you

Link: Wait run they by me again?

Back to when Impa found groose and started kissing him, another portal opens and the chain walks out

Link!Warriors: hey we are back!…why is there a boat on my tent?

Link!sky: wait is that…Groose?

Groose: Link?

Link!sky:Impa?

Fi: it seems like there has been a cross-

SS Impa: Fi?

Link!wind: Linebeck?

An AU where Skyward Sword Link and Skyward Sword Impa swap places.

You can use the above as a prompt on its own but I'm going to go over my thoughts on it because I like to over think and over explain things

My thought was they literally swap places, Impa in Skyloft and Link on the Surface, but don't necessarily swap roles. Their roles are obviously very different from Canon, and history and lore likely very different. Impa being the Goddesses chosen right hand and best friend, while Link is the Goddesses chosen loyal Knight. Impa growing up with Zelda on Skyloft mostly oblivious to their future responsibilities besides consistent nightmares. Link growing up on the Surface training under the wing of the future older him thanks to the time travel involved, him already having the goddess sword and very soon to adventure to upgrade it to the master sword. Older Link likely having the master sword as an obvious mark of them being the same person separated by time. The sword and older Links continued existence held in the hands of his younger counterpart and Impa's.

I can see both of their duties going certain ways. Both Zelda and Impa falling to the surface and Impa retaining her Canon duties of protecting her as she goes to the ancient springs. Both older Link and younger Link having to intervene a few times due to Impa being new to her powers as a Sheika and fighting such powerful enemies.

Or one of the Links taking on the duty of protecting Zelda during her duties while Impa learns about her duties and powers while searching for Zelda. If For consistency sake younger Link goes to protect Zelda and along the way upgrades his sword into the master sword. Impa becoming very important for keeping Ghirahim and other of Demises minions distracted while Zelda and Link go about their duties. Impa maybe even helping older Link keep demise contained while Zelda and younger Link go about their roles. This one would be sad because younger Link would grow close to Zelda but being fully aware that he will have to go back to the past to continue the time loop properly. Knowing that if he grows too close it would just break her heart....and his. So he would likely try to be serious and business only with Zelda, but ultimately shows his softer side after time interacting with her. The aftermath of Demises fight would be very dramatic as Zelda learns just who the older man is as the Link she knows has to leave. Older Link would be having bittersweet nostalgia at the memory.

This also means the master sword older Link has already has Fi sealed inside of it. The swords having a very confusing history due to the time travel and time looping both it and Link are involved in.

The Sword past young Link gets is likely also the past Goddess sword he is entrusted with, he is then regularly sent to the future to learn under older future hims wing who has the future version of the goddess sword the master sword with it's Fi sealed within. He goes on his adventure with Zelda going about both of their sacred duties, later getting the master sword and working with Impa to defeat Demise. Him having to seal Fi away within his sword like future him had to in his position, and regretfully leaving for the past to continue the cycle so that Demise continues to remain defeated. Destroying the time gate as he does so, so that Zelda and Impa don't try and follow. (Poetically similar to Midna here huh?) Impa likely chewing out older Link for not telling them what was going to eventually happen, Link knowing that if he warned Zelda or Impa they would have tried to convince him to stay or at least keep the gate open for visits, and he could not put his sacred duty in danger of failing even if it meant isolation for him and hurting his new friends. He had to keep the time loop stable at all costs, even if it hurts.
