We can answer this actually we love talking about Cool Art Stuff.
Despite what one may assume, sharp edges in watercolor is actually quite easy! Come, sit, allow us to share our secrets. It's like 50% "materials" and 50% "we spent a long-ass time figuring out how to do sharp edges in watercolor and now we're really good at figuring out the exact combos of consistency and brush stroke required to make those really hard edges"
The first trick is, of course, to not try and do it at the beginning of the painting. When you're just starting to block shapes in to your watercolor, pursuing sharp edges is a fool's ordeal, and you can only really get those sharp edges in as finishing touches near the end of the work.
The second trick is to work wet-on-dry - this limits the spread of the watercolor and allows you to prevent bleeding, but you have to make sure your painting is COMPLETELY dry before painting, or you'll risk having some ill-defined lines and bleeding.
The third trick is to work with... cake watercolors? There's a tern for it, we just can't remember it - dry pan watercolors, where you have to wet the paint to "activate" it, offer you a LOT more control over the consistency of your paint, and using a relatively thick paint will allow you some REALLY sharp lines! Fair warning, your mileage may vary based on the specific paints you use just because pigment is Expensive and cheaper brands of watercolor will almost definitely be, like, cutting out as much pigment as they can manage in order to cut corners, and the sharp edges will be less obvious the more transparent they are.
As a general rule of thumb when you pay for Fancy watercolor you're paying for the insane amount of pigment that they put in their Fancy Stuff and that lends itself a lot more to Sharp Lines (plus one thing of it will last Fucking Forever). The black we use Specifically is an Artisanal Fancy Brand that we don't remember the name of and we've been using the same ~$10 thing for more than a year without even using up half of it, but honestly the actual paints you use are the Least important part of doing watercolor, you can do like the exact same thing with dollar store paints it'll just be a bit less pigmented.
The fourth trick is to just, like, practice a TON. You WILL have to spend time getting it right. It will take a Long-Ass Time. You will have So Much Trouble. Unfortunately this step cannot be avoided but we can still warn you that you'll be trying to make really sharp lines for like an hour and it still won't quite work.
The last trick is to uhh

#we speak#not art#unfortunately the people saying to invest in Good Materials are sometimes correct and good brushes are like#the number one reason that we can manage the sort of really sharp edges that we can without muddling#for context this is a fancy-ass semi-stiff lining brush that we've found allows for VERY sharp edges#it's VERY nice and it holds its shape INCREDIBLY well allowing for some very nicely defined edges without stray brush strands#however it's also like fifteen bucks for one brush so you kinda have to like. Decide If It's Worth It#we got like two brushes from the same brand from a watercolor technique workshop for free and we shelled out bc the other brushes were like#Really Good#total cost of this is like uhhh fucking twenty bucks. if you have that to spare we 100% recommend it#but if you dont then you can obtain it illegally from your local art store if youre fast enough#for legal reasons that advice is a joke tho. stealing from local businesses is bad. go after a bigger store instead.#like 60% of watercolors is having Good Technique but the really defined edges that we pull here are like purely possible bc of Good Brush#and Good Brush really makes a fucking difference tho we'll still bring in our older dollar store brushes for shit like texture#beyond that its just ignoring common wisdom for watercolor tho we do A LOT of drybrushing bc we like the texture#we like deliberately fucking up our washes to make the background look more interesting we think its Cool#every watercolor person who speaks of a flat wash being the very basis of All Of Watercolor wishes to kill us personally

magnus cort nielsen to uno-x is an unexpected and fascinating move. it looks like uno-x is gonna go for a WT license or at least for regular WCs in big races. feels fitting that denmark should have a big team given the impressive number of elite danish riders in the peloton nowadays. magnus is truly one of my favorite riders and i hope he shines in his new team!

2023 is gonna be the year i start allowing myself to buy 'disability aids'
things that may not seem practical but will greatly improve the ease of which i'm able to tackle everyday tasks
things that i may not have looked into because 'those are for people more sensitive/disabled than I am'
things that make my routines easier to follow or easier to build habits that seemed like monumental tasks
this is the year im gonna actually be gentle with myself

-->Fortunately, chatting with the other customers went a lot better. Hell, Smiler not only managed to ring up Geoffrey Landgraab for a box of tomato sauce, they even got some money advice in the bargain (judging by the Focused moodlet they had after the interaction)! And the hits just kept on coming --
Alice finished up her workout in time to ring up Emilia Ernest, Victor’s dueling partner from the last episode, for a box of cheese (because even if she can't greet customers, she can apparently finalize sales – logic!), then – after a bathroom break – went out to have some zoomies as the Fury was starting to get a little high from her being cooped up in the break room all this time. She then returned and plopped down by one of the planters for a nap, only to be chased back inside the break room by the rain. Can't have wet werewolves stinking up the joint!
Victor sold some Playful scent to Lily Feng and a box of vegetarian MREs to Ukupanpio (one of the Sulani mermaids) before his growling stomach forced him to take a quick break, grabbing Cameron’s abandoned microwave pastry (which wasn’t great but at least filled him up), before returning to sell a Purple Parallel flower arrangement to Annette. Which I was frankly glad to see, as the flower arrangements did NOT seem to be garnering a lot of customer interest before. Come on, guys, we have so many flowers...
And Smiler, of course, was the selling MVP, ringing up Cameron Fletcher for a box of mayonnaise; Venessa for an Energizing scent; Penny for box of meat substitute; and Nalani for a box of veggie MREs! All while managing to ignore the fact that Judith Ward was visiting and the paparazzi were taking pictures of her in the bathroom. XD At least now I’m sure customers can use it! We also had Yuki yank a quill fruit out of one of the produce fridges, though the game really wasn’t fond of her doing that, spitting out an LE. I’m not sure my game likes some of Brazen Lotus’s mods, unfortunately...might need to consider a mod folder clean-up in the future...
-->Anyway – by this point, it was getting a bit late in the day, and everyone’s enthusiasm for the store was flagging. Victor took some time to magically clean the produce stands and the bathroom sink before going for a nap on the break room sofa, while Alice similarly did a little more working out, licked herself clean, then curled up on the break room floor for a snooze of her own (as her werewolf instincts were demanding another one). Smiler was still keen to talk to people, but as it was getting to be about 6:30 PM in-game, I figured it was about time they closed up and had them do just that. Final totals of the day – eleven items sold, for a total profit of $4,932! Not too shabby. AND it wasn’t quite as laggy – the game still had a nasty habit of pausing when customers grabbed items or when someone was trying to clean up out-of-stock signs, but it wasn’t NEARLY as bad as it was the last time I played the store. Seems like having less for sale did actually help in that regard, yay! :) Anyway, I was all ready to pack it up and send the trio home –

Investment Banks and Finance Companies.
Investment banks offer services in equity capital markets, leveraged debt capital markets, commercial real estate, asset finance and leasing, and corporate lending services. The major functions of investment banks are raising funds, asset management, mergers and acquisitions advisory services, brokerage services, and market making. The asset management function of investment banks involves managing the funds of corporations and investing in stocks, fixed-income securities/bonds, derivatives investments, and other types of investments. Investment banks are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions by performing the functions of deal making. Securities underwriting is the process by which investment banks raise investment capital from investors in the form of equity and debt capital on behalf of companies and government authorities. Underwriters offer a set of services for initial public offerings (IPOs) or seasoned equity offerings. The methods used for IPO pricing are the fixed price method and book building process. The debt capital markets services divisions of investment banks solicit structures and execute investment-grade debt and related products, which include new issues of public and private debt. The strategic changes in investment banks has often been cited as a reason for the economic crisis that crippled the global economy.
Finance companies are specialized financial institutions that make loans to individuals and corporations for the purchase of consumer goods and services. The three major types of finance companies are consumer finance, business or commercial finance, and sales finance.

I love how vastly different June and Levi are and how their relationships with Enver differ in so many ways.
If Levi is a guy believing he is equal to gods, then June is, at his core, a prodigal follower.
It's a pattern he doesn't break out of even as he betrays his father for Selune. Gortash didn't manage to shake this part of him, only created a push, allowing June chose a god other than Bhaal (i.e. June didn't want Enver to die, realized he didn't want to die himself and entered a pact-like relationship with the Lady of Silver to prevent these two things from happening.)
The hardest thing for him is to go back on his word/dismantle the existing alliance. His mortal flaw is loyalty, blind loyalty.
So at some point his story comes to a crossroads.
He can either reaffirm his alliance with Gortash, unknowingly dooming him a Gortash himself, not to mention death of Duke Ravengard and many other casualities.
In this scenario Gortash dies from the psyonic command of the Nether Brain and June becomes the hero of Baldur's Gate and the new archduke.
Which sounds fun and games until you realize it also includes him becoming a new Chosen of Bane, because June might have learned how to break out of his father's chains, but he doesn't know what to do with himself and, after his and Selune's ways part, is an easy prey for gods with less than honorable plans.
The other road comes with stabbing Gortash in the back, metaphorically speaking. It includes the wicked choice of putting a tadpole into his head and making him cooperate because "oh, but I can just relinquish the protection astral prism bestows on you. I am sure you'll love being Elder Brain's thrall".
It's a choice what leaves absolutely everyone (well, not EVERYONE) horrified because not only they did not expect that from June, but also looking how pleased June is with himself by walking Gortash into the corner opens their eyes to the fact what he is not, in fact, a hero. He was a villain in the past and some of this past still lingers, even more after Selune's cold soothing light has left.
And, ridiculously, it's the choice what saves everyone; gondians, Ravengard, Karlach, Gortash himself.
#bg3 spoilers#bg3#dark urge: june#june's main theme is servitude and wherever he breaks out of it#if he does it's his good ending if he doesn't - the bad one where he is bane's new favorite tyrant#all gortash managed to do is to show june he has a choice who to follow#and june breaking out of this badly fitting loyalty is a result of the bond he builds with companions#also to clarify of course june and enver were A THING#surprisingly the whole tadpoling business actually makes it better bc before that Gortash kind of looked down at june#but after that june gains new respect in the man's eyes. Enver didn't know his favorite assassin could be cunning and wicked#in a way beyond bland murder that's it#me: *invests in more than one durge and makes them whole ass people*#me: i am very normal about this game#what are they doing after the end of the game? Gortash kind of manages to pull the 'i was enthralled as you all' card#Probably doesn't manage to keep his title as archduke but weasels out of any reprecussions#is he still Bane's Chosen? I doubt it. At this point Bane has probably deemed him a failure.#there's a big chance he tags along with June and Astarion to Underdark because hey all these unliberated ppl in there!#Astarion: so let's make it clear...You're planning to conquer Underdark?#Gortash: Conquer? Such a crude world. I am planning to liberate them. save them from themselves!#June laughing: sure you do love. i bet that's what tyranny is al about: liberation. freedom of wills and artistic expression.#Gortash: laugh all you like my dear partner in crime but don't you see them suffer?#Gortash: don't you hear them choke on a breath under suppressing rule of the Spider Queen?#June: so you deem yourself a savior now?#gortash: yes. The question is: will you save these people with me?#June:...a...compelling argument. I doubt we can do worse than the existing conditions under the Lloth are#Astarion: another world' saving but also inevitably self-centered quest? Another one? We JUST survived the last one.#June: I don't know. We live here now. isn't it natural to make this place more... lived in? I like the dangerous nature here#June: but I doubt drow will be very welcoming. And Menzoberranzan seems like a good place for the spawns to settle#June: ...if we restructure some things that's it#Astarion painfully aware he travels with two fools with delusions of word domination/salvation: fiiine.

#'no need to post' anon#yeah like you said in your second ask i think most of the criticism right now is based around them being very lazy and relying on fans#to do the work they should be doing#even if louis doesn't personally want to go on a press tour right now- there is still tonnnns they could be doing that don't require his#active participation#but instead of investing resources into him and his career and do that work#they instead just keep falling back onto the fans to do everything which is always gonna result in very limited reach#so i do very much agree with the criticism people are throwing at his team right now#but regarding what you said- i agree as well there#i do think there is a lot of focus on only a specific kind of success- like the beyonce level of famous#which is not at all what everyone is gonna want#i do think louis wants to be successful and he's said as much#but everyone has different parameters for what they consider to be success#for their own life and their own comfort and downtime#like as someone who partially owns a small business- i have absolutely no desire to make my business a multi-million dollar affair#i want it to stay at a certain level that allows me to still be in control of it#where i get to live a comfortable life and maintain my business at a manageable level that doesn't take away all my free time#i'm still ambitious but ambitious within the parameters of the kind of 'success' i want#and i think it's weird when people act like i'm not ambitious or driven because of that#and i think people often views it in a very black and white way- either you don't care at all or you want to be the biggest artist in the#world#which i think is a narrow way of seeing it#none of us truly know what kind of success louis wants. i think he does want his music to be heard and i do think he wants to continue#growing his fanbase and his live shows#based on what he's said. i think he's ambitious and driven.#so i think his marketing departments need to get off their asses and do more#but do i think he wants to be the biggest artist in the world and constantly be on press tours? not necessarily. maybe. idk.#but i don't think that should be the only barometer people use when judging what success is. it varies a lot from person to person.
