🏁 Coordinate 127: Regular and Seoul City

A theory post of NCT 127′s Regular and what the night city represents in the MV and their whole lore.

(!) WARNING: This is a theory as it is not confirmed by SM entertainment nor members of NCT, so please don’t believe this 100%!

English ver. for the MV, Korean Ver. for the lyrics

I watched Regular MV the other day, and suddenly new ideas came into mind. Honestly, I’m not 100% percent sure of it... because I have two possibilities

1. Regular was the first time 127 entered the Reality after Dreaming as a unit, which is the night city itself.

2. The night city is a deeper dream, they synchronized but not necessarily have made their dreams come true.

First Point: Explanation

Lets start with the first point and my strongest explanation. Starting with this,

1. TV and Time Setting

This is a screenshot of a TV in the MV with a headline on it that says “you know, it’s all in our dreams”, with Mark and the tiger in the background with a tiger with him in daylight.

The reason why I highlighted ‘daylight’ is because, I remember mentioning this on another post, the reality should be in nighttime while the dream world should be in daytime. Why? To enter the dream world you must sleep, so shouldn’t you be sleeping during nighttime? This is also supported by their SMCU Express pictures, NCTmentaries could also support too since if you noticed, majority of the scenes are shot in daytime (I haven’t check them again, but from what I remember, most of them are in daylight..).

2. Parachute and Time Travel

The very first thing you see in the MV is Jungwoo who just arrived using a parachute. I presume that the other members also go through this..

It is rather odd since this whole time, they don’t need a special equipment like this to be in the dream world. BUT in the daytime, there were rockets were simultaneously blasted to the sky.

The rockets went up, while using a parachute means they went down. This signifies how the Neos used this special way to enter the Reality that is by using a rocket and arrived by landing with a parachute. Possibly, they jumped from the rocket; before letting go of the parachute, using speed, they traveled to Reality. This traveling is possibly done like time traveling, just like using a wormhole (a slight foreshadowing of how they will enter RaD as a whole group).

Though this may not be applied to the Winwin solo skydiving. This was the second to the last MV he has with 127, this scene for him alone could be more relevant to his arrival in WayV.

3. Lyrics

As for the lyrics, I will be using the Korean ver. because its closer to their lore. I hand-picked some lines that make the most sense. They are not in order by the way.

“I be bangin’ with my team, we’re awake (Awake awake)”

This is the most obvious one of course. This line alone shook my brain.

“What we want, we get em all, still not that much buzz”

“We’re closing our eyes and falling asleep I can catch my dreams with my hands”

These are slight hints that they may made some of their dreams come true. I will explain this again in the next point.

“It’s building up but I’m still not satisfied”

The first line hit me because, just like the previous line, they made their dreams come true but they are not satisfied yet. Perhaps they are looking forward to making a bigger dream, along with the rest of the Neos.

“And now we in a zone”

“Of course, we’re on the regular I’m not ordinary, irregular”

Additional short lines that convinced me that they are in Reality. They called it a zone, but soon as of Kick It, it will be called Neo Zone. It is the same city. Irregular-Regular is the Dream-Reality division. Regular is Reality, while Irregular is Dream. But they said they are irregular in here to somewhat show how special they are because they basically can get what they want.

4. Some Details

The overall MV and lyrics are basically them showing off... that they can get what they want. There are many symbols of wealth like the gold and basically rich aesthetics, they were proud and this same theme is very evident in the overall lyrics. These are further supporting points of them being proud of being able to make their dreams come true.

There were scenes of some members going around the city, it can be interpreted as their first time entering the Reality (they were checking around). Lastly, there was one scene of the Neos releasing people from a truck? Could this mean that they have woken up some people from the Dream world? Aside from those people, the city looked rather empty but at least the lights were lively.

Second Point: Explanation

To be honest, there is only one explanation that made me think that perhaps this city is still a dream. This is also the reason why many people believes it too.

1. Irregular Office, Regular Dream, and Colorful lights

In the entirety of the nighttime scenes, the lights were very colorful and lively. This liveliness is often associated with the dream world. This was shown in Irregular Office and Regular Dream. In Regular Dream, the office was dull and the Neos fell asleep. Though after they fell asleep, the lights changed and continues to Irregular Office with even more colorful lights and odd activities.

With this, the colorful lights made people think that they are dreaming. This may only have one explanation, but its somehow significant in the overall NCT lore. Dream stages and the process of entering dream involves colors; we have this scale for an example.

Even the album versions for Empathy work the same way. The black and white for Reality ver., and the colorful one for Dream ver.

These definitely lead people into thinking that the night city in Regular is in a dream because of its strong and vivid lights. After all, they were doing ‘goofy’ things too in the city.

Conclusion

It is VERY obvious that I’m leaning towards the first point. But like what I said in my pinned post, I would often have more than one ideas. So who knows if someone out there would agree or disagree with me. Consider this post as my thought process? I did somehow speculate that the colorful lights in the city are for the aesthetics? To support that rich and classy vibe? The MV needs to be eye-catching after all and fit the “Neo” style.

But to conclude, I'm leaning more on the first point but would also consider a second point if there is a stronger argument. Plus, they did somehow realize a dream from Irregular Office. Winwin was printing money, and the map of Seoul flashed in a few scenes, those wishes came true in the MV. They arrived in Seoul, just like the longitude number. Even the title itself is called, ‘Regular’.

DATING HISTORY | Maya

The dating history of TWICE's Maya from 2011 until 2019. None of these relationships have ever been revealed to the public and fans aren't aware of it.

Seo Youngho - Johnny (2011-2013)

They dated when they were both trainees at SME. Johnny straight up didn't care that trainees couldn't date each other, but Jieun was a bit more apprehensive when he asked her out on a date. She liked him a lot, but didn't want to risk her chance of debuting because of a boy.

Eventually, she warmed up to the idea and the other trainees even helped them hide the fact that they were dating from the staff and teachers. That went well for a good year, until a girl snitched on them because she liked Johnny and found out Jieun was his girlfriend. The staff made them break up and they did. Well, they pretended they did and only told their very close friends that they were still together.

They broke up a couple of months before she left SM. There wasn't a big main reason why they broke up, it was just that they grew apart and didn't see why they should continue their relationship. Johnny thought for a long time it was his fault when she transferred to JYPE and he kinda wished she stayed.

They're not on bad terms, but they're not friends either. She'll give him a smile and a hello when they meet backstage somewhere, but it stays at that.

Kim Seokwoo - Rowoon (2014-2015)

They were so smitten with each other, it was absolutely adorable. He considers her his first love, despite not being his first girlfriend.

One time, she was quite sick and he spent 2 hours on the bus just to bring her homemade food to make her feel better. Truly an attentive gentleman (he talked about this on national television, not mentioning Jieun, tho).

They broke up, because she was about to join Sixteen in order to debut. She almost couldn't even do it, because she knew how heartbroken he would be. He understood and said he would continue to support her quietly from behind the screen.

Whenever he's asked about his ideal type he always says ''Someone who is tall and looks good in his eyes.'' Baby, you're just thinking about Miss Kim Jieun. He still writes songs about her, I think that tells you enough about how much this dude loved her.

They're still on good terms, mainly due to their break-up being caused by external factors and not internal ones.

Cho Seungyoun - Woodz (2018-2019)

The definition of he fell first and he fell even harder. He had a huge crush on her and Jamie (Park Jimin) set them up on a blind date (it was a blind date on Jieun's side, Seungyoun was fully aware of who he was meeting). Jieun was infatuated with him, loved his gentle personality and soft demeanour. Despite her 3 year ban on dating not being over yet, she still went for it.

He always described her as his muse. His favourite songs always happen to be about her or were inspired by her. He was just so proud of the fact that she was his girlfriend. Not because she was Maya of Twice, but because to him she is the most beautiful person in the world.

Much to their friends' surprise, Seungyoun was the one to end their relationship. He was going through a very hard time mentally and didn't want Jieun to suffer because of it. His plan kind of failed, cause girlie went through it, but she understood why he did it. When he got better, he regretted breaking up with her, cause he realised how much he actually needed her in his life.

It took a while for them to become friends after their relationship ended. Mainly, because Jieun had a hard time with their break-up and still felt a lot of pain seeing him. She contacted him after the disbandment of X1 was announced, wanting to check up on him. They met up and had a long, emotional talk about life.

NCT MARVEL AU

okay so like a couple months ago I posted that I really wanted to write an NCT MARVEL AU FF... I might have deleted it I honestly cant remember I also added other SM ARTIST as side/extra/antagonist characters in the plot and right now im currently debating if i wanna find more Marvel characters that I think fit Shohei, Eunseok, and Seunghan.. idk lmk. im still working on the first few chapters and the moodboards of all the characters but it's going to take a while and i've been working very slowly since i am currently in school and have a part time job because in this economy... oof a girl's really struggling. anyways here is a small draft (with no mood board sorry im still woking on it :( ) of which MARVEL Characters the NCT members are going to be portraying

PUMA Korea Apologizes For Accident On Set Of NCT 127’s Commercial Shoot

PUMA Korea has released an official apology regarding the accident that occurred during NCT 127’s commercial shoot.

On December 9, SM Entertainment revealed that while NCT 127 was filming an advertisement earlier that day, a jungle gym structure that was part of the set had unexpectedly collapsed. Four members sustained minor injuries in the accident: Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, who immediately went to the hospital to be examined; and Taeil, who chose to go home to rest instead.

Fortunately, after undergoing examinations at the hospital, Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were found to have no major injuries aside from minor bruises. However, for the sake of the members’ health, NCT 127’s pre-recording for SM Entertainment’s “2023 SMTOWN LIVE : SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA” concert has been postponed, and Jungwoo will also not be appearing on MBC’s “Music Core” as an MC this week.

Following the accident, PUMA Korea released the following statement:

This is PUMA Korea.

PUMA Korea’s statement regarding the accident that took place during NCT 127’s commercial shoot is as follows.

NCT 127 is currently PUMA’s APAC ambassador, and during their commercial shoot on December 9, members Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Taeil suffered an accident due to an issue with a structure on the filming set.

Immediately after the accident, members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing a thorough examination. As soon as detailed results become available, they will be announced through [NCT’s] agency SM Entertainment as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, Taeil only suffered minor injuries, and we respected his personal decision to return home and rest.

PUMA Korea feels a strong sense of responsibility regarding this accident, and we plan to do our utmost to identify the cause and prevent it from reoccurring.

We apologize to the fans, who must have been startled by the news that their beloved artist was in an accident, and to [NCT’s] agency SM Entertainment for giving them cause for concern.

Furthermore, PUMA Korea will do its utmost for the treatment and speedy recovery of NCT 127 members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, who were injured in this accident, and we will help them recover as quickly as possible.

So you said I should def talk about Exo, but here’s the thing. I’m not into them at all, I only know Bacon, Kai and Lay, like I only know his name is Yixing because of you. I know some of the other’s names, but have no clue on their faces and personalities. I’ve only been into kpop for a couple years, and right off the bat everyone told me to just stay away from Exo, I think because it would be too difficult to learn everyone? Idk, this was back when I couldn’t tell Kihyun and Minhyuk apart, so they were dark days. But now. Knowing how much our tastes seem to align, I’m almost scared to start down that rabbit hole. If I do start consuming Exo content, will it take over my brain? Will they displace my One True Love Seo Changbin/SKZ? Or will they replace my Secondary Displaced Love, Johnny Suh? What’s a girl to do 😭😭😭 - 🐖🐇

Okay it probably was because as an Exo-l all we know is pain and suffering. It's been a rough ten years. But they're great and amazing and I love them. It is confusing so we'll start off with the members that left. I will be mentioning Kris or else it'll be confusing to explain.

So first we have Kris Wu, born 1990. so currently he's being detained in prison for accusations of SA. But he left around 2014 and had a solo music career as well as acted alongside Vin Desiel and has done tons of other things up until his arrest.

Beside him is Luhan, born 1990 he left around I think a few months after Kris did. But it seemed he left on better terms then Kris who just sorta disappeared. Also has a solo music career and is an actor, has a song called Lu about blowing Flutes, wild.

First is Tao, born 1993 precious baby boy he left after Luhan, well he was constantly getting injured and his father had to step in. He also has a solo music career and is just amazing, hilarious a bit of a diva we love.

Next is Yixing, born 1991, my husband the love of my life. A king, creater of some wild ass songs. I love him. Scared of birds. Actor, Dancer, Singer, Rapper, Song writer, Producer, model. Again a king. A little weird sweet baby boy. I love him. I know you already know him but I had to. He left this year after choosing to not renew his contract.

It's all the Chinese members, SM has a pattern anyway.

First Xiumin, born 1990, rapper tiny, cute little face , Aries, honestly hasn't used social media in fifty years and has cats. Daddy of Exo. Not in the paternal way, in the put your shirt on and stop looking at the camera like that way.

Next, Suho, born 1991. Actual father of exo, leader has kids to feed and bills to pay. The fact his family is rich has been a long lived joke. Can tell he is visibly stressed. Exo's Kun.

Baekhyun born 1992, you already know him and I don't have room for a picture but nothing to really say except he's the most annoying motherfucker you will ever see, he just looks annoying. Doesn't know boundaries, over all a little freak. Don't trust him. I love him though but still, Baekhyun it's on sight.

First Jongdae born 1992, Married, got like two kids. Honestly one of the strongest voices, like taking a shot of whiskey. As much of a fool as the other 92 liners. But he's a Virgo so he isn't completely a disaster.

Next is Chanyeol born 1992, Husband #2, my beloved, my baby. I love him a big ball of goof. Giant dork. A furry. Seriously a furry. Rapper, singer, song writer, producer another king. I love him. He maybe 6'1 and turning 30 soon but he is my precious little baby. The oddest little man. And I love him. I'm happy Johnny didn't end up in Exo I wouldn't be able to handle them together. Two more months left till he comes back!!!

I cant add three more , so I'll just do Kyungsoo & Sehun. Since you know Kai.

First, Kyungsoo born 1993, the most amazing actor, Has the voice of an angel. Is the reason Exo needs more R & B songs. Doesn't know what social media is. Most secretive, most likely to move to a farm in the middle of nowhere and never come back. Use to threaten Chanyeol with a big stick he kept by his bed when Chanyeol was being annoying. The biggest King, Exo is wrapped around his finger. I want him to take Renjun under his wing.

Next Sehun born 1994, the baby. Sassy, honestly runs Exo. E-X-O, He's so funny and has the best reaction faces. Please listen to EXO - SC, Chanyeol and Sehun worked so hard and deserve all of the love on their work.

Now since I've known Exo since high school, and NCT & Skz came later. I say that they'll just be more a nice side journey. Skz is definitely the strongest fan stealers. So you're fine. No idea why I wrote a whole article but I just haven't talked about exo in forever.
