Does someone have a recommendation of YouTube channels that teach cool and interesting (sourced) facts about history, science, archeology, cultures, etc? Like, Miniminuteman and Kyle Hill vibes. Bonus points if the videos are longer than 15min but I don't mind if they are!!
Most of what I've watched the past few YEARS have been like... discourse, drama, The Dark History Of [insert literally any noun], and it's tiresome. I wanna learn things, I want to experience whimsy again, I'm tired of the dopamine of learning horrible things about awful people (and I'm kinda sick of watching just Guys being Bros type videos too, I do love them but I fckn miss intriguing documentaries) 😭
Christian high school meant basically I had no idea how the prehistoric world actually worked until I watched Lindsay Nikole's video on it yesterday and I've frankly got stars in my eyes. My entire concept of earth has fucking shifted and I'm absolutely in awe of the ancient world. I feel like most people learn this stuff when they're 12 or 13 so, currently being a freshman in college, I mean.. I've lost time, but it's fucking magical to be first seeing the world for really how old it is. Fuck, man, the silurian (I think) period? It was 443 million years ago!! And there were giant mushrooms!!
