Ah... I wonder if the people working on this scene forgot the part in the lore about how they can't actually light any kinds of bonfire while they're in the elf forest due to the magic in it (thus Dwarf Shaman ended up needing to use salamanders to compensate for that). Or they knew, but rather cut that out and thus omitting the need for even that convo to be made...

Earth Gimel Dinosaur Team
Team: Triassic Tormentors
Cambrian Explosion - (Blaster/Striker) Cambrian launches a deluge of prehistoric looking maws, claws, and tongues from his arms in an explosive manner. Incredibly painful for each use, but equally destructive in slowing down brutes and defensive capes. Can charge the power in his arms - obvious by the bulging of his flesh - for longer/more mass in the blast. (Costume: various fangs and teeth on a biker jacket and makeshift crown with body paint to look like scales)
Terrordactyl - (Mover, Shaker) Terror has a mover power that allows them to naturally glide for an extended time depending on the height they leap from, with a standing leap giving them a glide of 5 seconds. His second power is a charged pulse that can reach up to 30’, briefly summoning illusions of his targets greatest fears to the fore to attack and induce the sensations of pain. (Costume: wing suit with spikes along his back and a modified helmet with a beak)
Lizardbrain - (Thinker/Master-Changer) Lizard has a line of sight effect that steadily drains the “civilized” aspects of a human target, starting with the loss of manners/decorum and ending with people frothing at the mouth in savagery. She gains small amounts of their traits, granting her the ability to have almost supernatural reads on human behaviors, mannerisms, social interactions etc. As much humanity as she absorbs, her body mutates into a grotesque lizard/reptile humanoid that elicits visceral disgust for the majority of people who see her. These changes revert for her and victim over a slow amount of time. (Costume: mutations from her victims that clash with a bit of an apocalyptic priestess gown)
Triassic Tormentors have no real spot in Gimel. They aren’t big enough to stand with the other villains and definitely not enough to contend with the heroes. They make a decent (for c-class villains) living going to Bet and smuggling items for collectors. It’s only with the return of the internet and then discovering some outrage attention from folks noting they pillages museums that they seemingly hit their stride as jackasses who do a bit of trolling.

Roots
Part 1 of Darron and Baeron's Backstory
Link to Part 2
Tumblr media
T’zeklochar cast a brief glance toward the vaulted cavern ceiling of Menzoberranzan. A faint red glow rose from somewhere in the middle of the city, signaling that the great stalagmite clock, Narbondel, had only begun its reckoning.
The Matron Mother had had him woken and dragged from bed, in the middle of the night.
“Is there a room somewhere we can put Ryld?” she inquired after he had been essentially jostled through the whole damned house and dropped in front of her throne.
“Couldn't this wait till morning, Breena?” T’zeklochar asked pointedly. He glared at the guards at his elbows (both of whom were smirking females) and got to his feet.
As if T'zeklochar hadn't spoken out of turn, Matron Dinbreena carried on, “Somewhere out of the patron's way - where he won't notice. I mean, imagine.”
“How very delicate of you.”
Her eyes were dull from thought, her silver hair loose and trailing down her shoulders to her knees like a curtain. She was preoccupied. About Ryld, of course.
“See that he's found a room.”
It was final. Definite, No room left for contention.
“Yes, Matron Mother,” said T’zeklochar, bowing slightly, all thought of sleep banished with the new task at hand.
Presently, the Weapons Master of House Barriurden crossed the back courtyard, passing the stables housing the lizard mounts. He stepped into the kitchen, then further down into the cellar, and headed for the cubby tucked behind the shelves. The door to the hole slammed against the wall as T’zeklochar threw it open.
The single inhabitant of the cramped cubbyhole sprang up from his bed. “What in the hells – ?!”
“Wake up, pantry boy.” T’zeklochar ordered as Ryld blinked dumbly in the dark. “Whatever paltry possessions you have, gather them and follow me.”
Ryld was a commoner, a kitchen servant tasked with keeping track of the House’s food stores. He was also the newest, albeit unwilling, object of Matron Dinbreena's affections. Her appetite for amorous exploits was unabated even as she saw her third century. No drow could refuse her. Whichever male she chose must submit, under pain of death.
A swarm of bats flitted through the stalactites. Ryld stretched as he quietly followed T'zeklochar to the front of the house. Guards stood in attention as the Weapons Master walked past. The kitchen servant, they paid no mind.
It was difficult not to notice him, however, even T’zeklochar would admit. The drow, at the prime age of a hundred or so, was handsome and tall - tall by drow standards. His build was lean and wiry. His eyes appeared blue in the Underdark, with red pin pricks in their centers. An unfortunate defect, caused no doubt by his forebears interbreeding with surface elves or even humans. And yet, it did not take away from his beauty. The overall effect was one that stirred the blood.
“You think this is some sort of blessing?” T’zeklochar asked the younger drow, who was inspecting his new bedchamber.
Ryld peeled his eyes away from the ornate trimming and gossamer curtains overhanging the bed.
“You're in more peril than you ever were.”
Drow hated and yet thrived on competition. As a rival to the Matron’s consort, he would surely be faced with opposition. The patron would not allow Ryld to sire children by the Matron, and put his own children's ranks at risk.
“You think I asked for this?” snapped Ryld, an assertive fire making the red pin pricks of his eyes more pronounced.
T’zeklochar's frown belied his pleasure. “You'll need more tricks than just batting your eyelashes, if you want to survive now.” He shoved a shortsword into Ryld's hands. “Meet me in the training hall in two hours.”
Tumblr media
The empty halls rang with the awful, pained screams of Matron Dinbreena as she labored to bring her and Ryld's child into the world. She had been taken into Lolth's unholy chamber, attended by her clerics and priestesses. All unneeded persons were barred entry, including the father.
Ryld sat trembling where he waited in the stairwell. T'zeklochar, who had become an unlikely friend in the last 10 months, stood leaning on the bannister, smoking on a small pipe. He took pity on the expectant father and passed him the pipe, chuckling as he struggled to put it to his lips.
There came Dinbreena's screams again. “RYLD! WHERE IS HE?! I WANT HIM HERE! RYLD!”
Ryld flew to his feet and up the stairs, followed closely by T'zeklochar. Dinbreena held out her arm as she saw them come through the door.
“Damn you and your spawn,” she hissed as tears streamed down her ashen cheeks. Her grip on Ryld's hand was crushing.
“What's happening? The child has been delivered. Why -?”
The pain was not letting up, even as Liriel, one of Dinbreena's daughters and high priestess of Lolth, carried a squealing child to a stone pedestal.
“There's a second child,” snapped Zardra. “You have twins.”
T’zeklochar stood over the kicking baby, wiping it clean with a blood-soaked towel. Ryld's heart sank as he studied the Weapons Master's expression.
His dark heart uttered a desperate prayer and a bargain. “Please, goddess. If you give me this, I will be your uncomplaining servant.”
Ryld gently set the Matron down on the armchair. She had succumbed to the exhaustion just after the second child arrived.
The children's sobbing had subsided and the chamber grew deathly quiet. Ryld held his breath, looking to T’zeklochar for some hope. His red eyes were empty, his face like stone.
The Weapons Master shook his head, and Ryld felt like he had been gutted.
“Two male children. Cursed day,” muttered Zardra.
Liriel turned to Ryld. “You ought to be executed for your uselessness!” She cast a venomous glance at her newborn brothers, her knuckles white over the handle of her dagger. “Along with these wretched whelps.”
“Look at their eyes!” gasped Evandra. The twins had inherited Ryld’s ice blue eyes, with the red pin pricks glowing bright in the worship chamber.
“Beastly little wretches!” chimed Zardra.
T’zeklochar, who had not left the babies’ side, appeared unbothered, but was slowly easing his hand toward the shortsword at his belt. If any of the priestesses attacked, he was going to defend the little ones.
“Liriel is right,” said Zardra. “This is an omen. We all know what happened to House Do’Urden. We must kill them lest these blue-eyed freaks follow in Drizzt's footsteps.”
Ryld grew cold. Beside him, Matron Dinbreena stirred, and, her voice husky from screaming, addressed her daughters with severity. “If you lay a finger on our children,” she said, “On my honor as Matron Mother, on my honor as the Spider Queen’s servant - I will cut your head off myself.”
A smirk pulled the corner of T’zeklochar’s mouth. Our children. Dinbreena was done for. She had fallen in love with Ryld.
“These children are Noble Drow of House Barriurden. You shall show them the respect they are due.”
Tumblr media
Matron Dinbreena retired after nursing her twin boys. She left them in the company of their father, sleeping side by side in a cradle that had held five older sons. The daughters’ cradles were naturally more resplendent, but this one did the job and Ryld was satisfied.
He was still lost in thought when T’zeklochar entered, his hands clasped over something. Ryld admired the sight of the Weapons Master looking into the cradle, how gentle he became in the presence of his children. The way the tension from his broad, muscular back eased as he hummed and cooed at the little ones.
In the purple faerie fire, Ryld saw that T’zeklochar had brought a tarantula for the twins. The fuzzy creature crawled over T’zeklochar's knuckles and settled on Baeron's little chest. The little one stirred, smiled in his sleep, and cuddled the spider closer.
T’zeklochar opened his mouth, and a second tarantula crawled out of hiding. This one he gave to Darron. “Sleep sound in the dark, child,” he purred.
He addressed the father without looking at him. “Do not agree to have Dinbreena's daughters raise your children.”
Ryld scoffed. “I have no intention to. She's allowed me to raise them myself. Being her consort has granted me that favor, I guess.” He watched his boys with his arms crossed. He was steeling himself for what he was about to tell T’zeklochar. “I… I want you to train them, when they come of age.”
The Weapons Master still did not look him in the eye. “You're a madman and a fool,” he simply said.
Indignant, Ryld straightened up. He always had too much cheek for a commoner. It was one of the things that T’zeklochar admired about him. “A fool? My sons will live, if they know how to defend themselves. How am I a fool to know that?”
“Yes.” T'zeklochar nodded, his voice growing louder. “They will live, but not long enough to see 30. The Patron already hates you as it is. Put a sword in either boy's hand, and they will be a greater threat than ever. If they aren't murdered by their siblings, they will be murdered in the Academy.” He gestured wildly to the window. Somewhere out in the city stood Melee Magthere, where fighters were forged. It was a cruel and merciless place whose halls were washed with blood and colonnades polished with screams.
“I cannot protect them there,” T’zeklochar declared. I cannot protect all of you, he thought to himself.
“That's not what I'm asking,” Ryld replied coolly. “I only require that you teach them what they need to know.”
T’zeklochar was adamant. He shook his head. “Give them up for consortship and they may yet survive.”
“So they can be treated like… mere courtesans?” Ryld could not - would not see his sons suffer the same fate.
Ryld. What mother he had was so heartless as to name him “slave” in the drow tongue.
“They will marry into security,” T’zeklochar explained, “They'll be valuable in continuing the bloodline. Is that not enough to placate you?”
“And if your boy was alive, would you do the same?” Ryld snapped.
The words were out before Ryld could stop himself. When he saw the look of hurt on the Weapons Master's face, he knew he had gone too far.
T’zeklochar was Matron Dinbreena's consort once. He'd sired a child. A third son.
He didn't even get a chance to hold the boy before Liriel plunged her dagger into his tiny heart. A sacrifice to appease the goddess, Lolth.
Recovering, T'zeklochar replied, “If he had been allowed to live? Yes.”
He held Darron's foot and placed a tender kiss on his heel. He passed Ryld on his way to the door, and without so much as a warning, he grabbed him by the throat and shoved him against the wall.
The impact knocked the wind out of Ryld. His breath did not return now that he and T’zeklochar were a lip's distance from each other.
“If you ever mention my boy again,” T’zeklochar whispered, his voice soft as silk. “I'll kill you.”
He dropped Ryld to his feet and headed out the door.
“I need you.”
T’zeklochar froze.
“I cannot do this alone,” Ryld begged. “These boys need to be strong. You must teach them.”
“Have it your way. It won't be easy. It will break them.”
“I know.”

can we talk spoilers? (if at least tag them so those who haven't seen it yet can block the tag)
anyway
DOUG STEALS KONG'S LUNCH LOL. He's even so smug about it when Kong relents and lets him have it.
Mothra is so much fluffier this time around! Love how when she breaks up Godzilla and Kong's fight she's almost SCOLDING Goji lol. "Goji! Stop bullying the poor monkey!" "S..sorry, dear..." Jia seems to be her main priestess now tho? Whatever happened to the twin scientists from KOTM? I hope they aren't entirely forgotten and replaced. Maybe they can return as Jia's guides.
Shimo is adorable. I'm glad she got a happy ending and some neck scratches from Kong. Big huggable lizard-horse-kitty.
Suko saves the day by retrieving Kong's axe? Huh. That lil kid pulled his weight a lot more than I'd expected to. Also love his mean streak at the start, he and Kong bickered a lot at first.
And of course, Skar King's very very karmic and brutal demise. I can only imagine the state of him (and Rio de Janeiro's streets) when those ice chunks finally thaw out. Good luck with the cleanup, Monarch.
Everyone make sure you filter "gxk spoilers" because I've been using that tag for everyone not looking to be spoiled!
I think Mothra suddenly becoming an Iwi protector is because supposedly there was going to be another Original MonsterVerse Monster called Phosphora or some-such, but it wasn't well received by test audiences or something so it got reworked into Mothra. I could be misremembering, but that's what I remember hearing. Which is funny, because if memory serves correctly the KOTM end credits hinted at Mothra having already laid an egg before the Boston battle, so... retcon?
I'm really glad Shimo survived the movie, I felt so bad for her being under Skar King's pain control and how she visibly resists him throughout. Even her roars sounded pained. It was really sweet seeing the look in her eyes when the surface world sky is being cleared up, like if she's the source of the last Ice Age then it's been literally thousands upon thousands of years since she's last seen a sky like ours. Hoping we see her again in another movie!
Holy shit, Suko's introduction scene got SO MUCH FUNNIER when he goes from "i'm baby" to biting Kong's finger to being used as a BLUDGEONING WEAPON BY KONG. Suko really chugged that character development juice.
I feel vindicated for not once underestimating Skar King, because he is the most vile MonsterVerse... uh, monster villain we've gotten so far. Ghidorah was a sadistic son of a bitch and Mechagodzilla was a crazy Titan Terminator On Blue Rock Steroids, but Skar King has the heads of fellow Kongs stuck on pikes (presumably to set an example for anyone looking to challenge him), when he mocks Kong's new tooth most of the apes and especially Suko seem to laugh along out of fear, he straight up KICKS an ape into lava, and has actual sex slaves holding babies in his throne room, and you just KNOW they don't consent to what he does to them. On top of him controlling Shimo with pain and his attempts on Suko's life - and considering the number of red/orange-furred babies in the throne room, we can surmise that Suko is one of his own children - Skar King may not have the spectacle or scale Ghidorah had, but my god did it feel good seeing him go down.

I feel like since all I have posted lately is "aww astarion" content with Tav'Lyn I am doing her a disservice lmao ( I like watching my faves kiss, alright?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some facts about her:
225 years old. Her mother was the matron mother of House Faen Tlabbar which is known for their fantacism to Lolth.
Has led drow surface raids before. Yeah, Minthy ain't the only war criminal in the party.
She was at the doomed drow invasion of Mithril Hall as a young cleric (She was sent because she was less experienced AKA more expendable than the others)
She really loves lizard riding!
She knows Drow, Drow Sign, Goblin, Undercommon, Common, Elvish (Common and Elvish are new languages to her but close enough to others she knows), and Abyssal!
New to Eilistraee worship.
"Fake it til you make it" is her motto in Act 1.
At the beginning of the game, she doesn't really give two flying fucks about her companions, the tieflings, or any of it. She just wants the tadpole out. But she pretends she cares because she knows the other Eilistraeen priestesses would and she is trying to emulate them.😅This guides a lot of her early game decisions.

for the line reqs, can you do “is that how you usually get out of these situations? by fucking your way out of them?” for hastur if u could write for him!!… 👀
<3 ur work!
'be not afraid' 'would' 'be a little afraid' meme is so real for him lol sir i will lick a tentacles if you put next to the cipher im at I WILL
Rated: Mature | Warning: reader is a monsterfucker (mvp)
Tumblr media
Hastur, The Fester as the humans call him here, has seen many things throughout his life and studying humans. Yet, he finds himself particularly confused by the wink you give him. Are you malfunctioning? The deity is known to have worshippers who would throw themselves at his presence, coming up with various ways to worship in order to gain his favor.
However, he knows this not stemming from worship and twice the one called Priestess has reprimanded you for being flirtatious towards him.
Such a strange creature, even stranger as he more than once felt you caress the tentacles he used to harm the survivors. He even recalled one when he felt you bite it. You must be malfunctioning somewhere.
Is this how you get yourself out of these situations, mortal? The idea of you presenting yourself to others is not a pleasant thought, not jealousy, he simply believes that is beneath you.
“No, just you. You could just chair me but…” You smile as you tilt your head to the side, and your hand caresses the tendril he had summoned near this cipher. He only teleported here because you are distracting him. Not in arousal as he feels none but the sensation is odd.
“I would like to have a little fun before that?”
Are you a follower of the God of Lust perhaps? Love? Your proposition for him is… Sound be given towards those humanoids. Perhaps one like the Evil Lizard or Fool's Gold since you appear to like the extraordinary.
Do you assume I would entertain you?
“Hastur,” You cross your arms. Fearless as you speak his true name, “I am trying to entertain you. Again, you can chair me.” You look serious, “If I offended you—”
No human dared to attempt to mate with me, mortal. You are an odd one. Such a union may not end in your favor.
“That makes this hotter, babe.”
Odd is too kind for you.

Some rambling about my LU Modern AU that I’m committing to working on:
Modern Weaponry like we know it doesn’t exist. So no guns, no tanks, etc. What they do have is the standard medieval weapons of swords, bows, cannons, etc. Except it isn’t socially acceptable to just walk around with that shit, so they’re magically enchanted to take other forms (yes I’m pulling inspiration from Percy Jackson, leaf me alone) swords are pens, quivers are backpacks/bows are keychains, etc
Cars and motorcycles do exist in this, but it isn’t unusual to see people using horses or horse drawn carts/carriages in more rural areas. Trains also exist! They’re a little more rare though.
Modern Hyrule is split into two different maps, similarly to TOTK just omit the depths, and its Hyrule (Surface) and Hyrule (Sky Islands) on maps. Castletown is the Capital of the Surface while Skyloft is the Capital of the Sky Islands. Both report to the castle. There are still the three regions with their respective peoples (Rito - Hebra, Gerudo - Desert, Zora - the domain) and the Sheikah do inhabit the fourth region as their ancestral “capital” Kakariko. Yes I am using BOTW/TOTK map for the basis of this map.
There is a Queen. She does have a consort, but confirms nothing about them to anyone. People are unsure if it’s true or not. She is rarely seen, unless you’ve been summoned, and she is rarely seen together with her consort. She is treated like a goddess, a queen, or with derision by the populace. She is Queen Hylia Zelda Leclair.
She technically is a Priestess and has Visions of the Princesses when they’re born. She summons them roughly a year or so before their Hero will be needed.
Princess and Hero are titles and only given to those Called by the Goddesses via Hylia.
Princesses are Called a year or so before they and their Hero will be needed and they undergo Princess training - Goddess magic training, General Knowledge classes, how to use meditation for having Visions, basic first aid, hand to hand combat, weapons training, horseback riding, etc etc. These girls can handle themselves pretty well after all that.
Princesses do not hold a Government Position. That’s not what it is. It’s more like they’re Queen Hylia’s Ambassadors to the populace, no politics attached. They’ll do a lot of outreach work, along with whatever they do for their regular lives outside of their Princess Work.
Heroes fly under the radar. They’re rarely known, by Hylia or their Princess, until It Is Time. They’re usually not Called like the Princesses by Hylia. It’s more like they’re just there when the trouble starts, along with their Princess, like a big not so happy accident.
The history of Hyrule details out the various Heroes who’ve come to the country’s aid and have dedicated Constellations to them. Some of the accounts of the heroes of the past have been lost to time, but there are Ten Known Heroes of the Past. Nine of them have dedicated Constellations, the tenth constellation is dedicated to both the first hero and all those lost to time.
The Hero Constellations are The Feather, The Minish, The Ocarina, The Bunny, The Wolf, The Seagull, The Fairy, the Scarf, and The Silent Princess. The final is The Sword of Legend.
Most Hylians believe that being born in the times of the year when these constellations are brightest means that you have the traits of that hero. Kind of like Zodiac signs, except a little more extra.
Other notable things about the night sky, there’s a red star - it’s called the Star of Demise. Blood moons happen once every 100 days, some people get sick during this event. There is a grouping of four constellations that appear with The Silent Princess called The Champions, as a group, and individually are a Camel, a Bird, a Lizard, and an Elephant.
Ordon is located just outside of Faron, semi close to the mountains. It’s one of the more remote towns and is a very successful farming community known for their goats.
And that’s all I’ve got that’s not getting into more specifics for the boys and such. If anyone is interested in that, I’d be more than happy to chat about it :)

Personally rn I feel like this scene would be one of the most underappreciated scene in the anime. Like at first glance, this whole scene btw Gobslay. Spearman and Heavy Warrior was just them talking about girls and stuff, when it's also about them talking about their own aspirations and dreams about becoming an adventurer and them questioning themselves whether or not they really are up for this life...
But then, I guess it might also be because the anime was really moving the plot quite fast, a lot of the original nuances ended up missing... or at least that's what I feel.
Like this scene...
Tumblr media
Like unless people read his character well enough, can they figure out the other hidden meaning behind this line? As in, at least... Gobslay was still doing what he's doing rn aka killing goblins... was so that he can let other people be able to (enjoy) becoming an adventurer and go on an adventure.
I like the novel and manga version better tbh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like... while manga included other younger adventurers besides Priestess, I like how both novel and manga imply that the reason why Gobslay wanted to become an adventurer now, was so that Priestess would be able to continue to become an adventurer.
And that was so sweet.
And this really mean a lot to his character, seriously. Because Priestess was the reason why he started going on his goblin hunt as a 2-man party, and that lead to him party up with Lizard Priest, Dwarf Shaman and High Elf Archer... and then embarking in all these not-quite simple goblin hunts that tied to all sorts of unexpected twists and villains from the Four-Cornered World!
