Dagger

As he negotiates the grey, dull corridors of the TVA back to his apartment after a long day of researching, Mobius relishes the thought of plopping down on his sofa to mindlessly watch some old DVDs of the Golden Girls and fall asleep.

The keys jiggle in his pocket when he reaches for them in front of the door to his apartment and then without warning his sight is blinded by a hand to his eyes and the sharp, cold edge of a blade grazes the skin on his neck, pressed against it just enough to insinuate peril.

"Guess who I am" a voice whispers enticingly, directly into his ear. The proximity is enough to give it away, as if he could ever not recognise him. Still, the depth of Loki's voice this close sends a shiver up his spine. Mobius sighs, lips curving ever-so-slightly and shoulders relaxing, the dagger no longer posing a threat.

"I’m pretty sure I know who you are"

“Oh, you _are _pretty but that doesn’t answer my question, does it?”

All Mobius can see is a deep orange hue, a consequence of the little light that the space between Loki’s fingers allow in.

“Are we playing a game right now?” Mobius inquiries, half hoping for an affirmative answer.

“Maybe” Loki caresses his throat with the flat side of the edge, chest against Mobius’ back and lips brushing his cheekbone.

“Okay. You’re Loki: God of mischief, Frost giant, a little pussycat” Mobius chuckles, although nervously, because although the blade doesn’t scare him in the slightest, Loki’s closeness is always something to be wary of, especially in such a public area, even if there is no one around at the moment; Mobius has had to learn the hard way that when he sets his mind to it, Loki really doesn’t hold back, and this is starting to look like one of those times.

“You forgot the most important one: your favorite” Loki finally uncovers his eyes, hand sliding down and coming to rest across Mobius’s chest; his other hand, the one holding the dagger, also relaxes, and Mobius allows himself to curl his fingers around his wrist; the imprisonment now turned into an embrace.

“Hmm, there's always alligator Loki" Mobius prods because he enjoys getting under his skin, “I believed we agreed on calling him 'Croki'. It has a ring to it”

“Preposterous” Loki groans, but pecks him on the cheek all the same, “But I shall not take offense for I know you are deliberately trying to irritate me”

“Is it working?” Mobius asks, grinning, fingertips brushing the back of Loki’s hand and noticing for the first time the black-colored nails. He didn't have them like this when they met this morning and they look really good on him.

“Of course not. I am a god, such matters cannot affect me like they affect you midgardians”

“And with 'matters' you mean jealousy” he asks, tipping his head slightly back as Loki plants a trail of slow, calculated kisses down his jawline and hums an affirmative response. “Yes, I can see that" Mobius smiles, "You are totally not marking your territory right now”

“I was not expecting you'd be in such a chatty mood to be honest” he complains, though he doesn't sound very serious.

“Oh, and what were you expecting would happen that made you bring this along?” Mobius says as he strokes the hilt of the dagger that still lays against his chest. “Where did you get it from by the way? And who did you trick into letting you out? Am I going to have to fix this tomorrow with Renslayer?”

“So many questions” Loki sighs, exasperated, but presses closer against him, “You will most definitely will have to explain some things if you don’t let us in at once” he says and sinks his teeth in the curve of his trapezius to accentuate his point, kissing the spot gently right after.

“Shit” it comes out barely as a gasp, “Okay, yes, that is a problem for future Mobius” and then swiftly pulls the keys out of his pocket and unlocks the door.

When Mobius turns to invite him in, Loki’s got this devouring look in his eyes and a self-satisfied, wolfish smirk spread across his face. He steps closer, raising the dagger between them and letting the point lay on Mobius’ lower lip as he pushes him inside with his own body.

“We’re gonna have so much fun”

And god if it doesn’t sound like a promise.

Mobius is exhausted after a marathon work week of no sleeping and surviving a brute of a Variant in the field. Loki had been denied the mission clearance meaning it was just Mobius and B-15's taskforce in the field. Something Loki won't let Mobius forget now that they're reunited in the TVA. Mobius has just a little more work left to do before he can finally rest, but everything takes its toll suddenly and Loki is there to catch him.

Fic: A divine sort of touch

Loki tries to focus on the mechanical aspect of the spell. A healing touch to Mobius’ forehead to mend a little gash. A knuckle going over the agent’s cheek to make a bruise fade away. The adrenaline and the fear rough up the words when he answers with a snippy: “I had it under control”.

“Sorry to ruin your chance to prove again what a powerful sorcerer you are”.

“I’m a powerful sorcerer”.

“I know”.

Said creature put his hands up, open palmed. “Whoa, whoa, whoa, little angel.” Loki paused and hesitated, his brow creased in surprise. This was not at all what he thought a demon would look like. He just looked like a man. Like a very ordinary man with a moustache.
