#i do a lot #kingdom hearts #one of the biggest reasons i think we’ll see something like this in canon. briefly at least #not only would parallel ddd w ven’s heart/armor no longer there to protect sora #and roxas and xion gone from sora’s heart too. so sora would be alone #and actually there as opposed to in the RoL/awake when riku dives in #but also there is no way nomura’s gonna pass up the chance to bring us full circle like this. he loves making his characters revisit/relive #worlds and memories like this to make a point. and sora’s heart was sunset in ddd… following kh1 the dark and stormy night comes next #The thought of sora and riku reaffirming their love and friendship here when it broke the first time the islands fell #both of them having to in a way relive this horrible night for the final time #but riku doing the total opposite of last time. trying to save sora trying to stop the darkness from consuming everything #being totally honest with sora. reaching his hand out for sora but this time he’s not being consumed by darkness. #he’s become the light in the darkness. and they finally reach each other they finally grasp hands. I’m chewing on glass #i don’t think sora would ‘fall’ to darkness in the traditional sense #thematically i think it makes more sense for him to be faced w another martyr choice #though his own negative feelings would still be tangled up in there. and this would parallel kh3 #and if sora chooses to let darkness into his heart to save others it’d also parallel kh1 w riku choosing to open the door/let the darkness #into destiny islands at the risk of others #god it’d be just like kh1 but we’d be playing as riku and he’d be the one looking frantically for sora #a reversed dynamic. but now they understand each other’s pain and feelings so they can reach each other #figuratively and literally #i love parallels i love symbolism i love themes kick my ass !!!!

i want aziraphale choosing every day of his goddamn existence to love crowley and all that he is. i want aziraphale choosing to love crowley not in spite of being a demon, but because he is a demon. i want aziraphale choosing to love crowley’s curiosity and creative wonder. i want aziraphale choosing to love crowley’s love of plants and gardening.

i want crowley choosing to love aziraphale’s passion for books. i want crowley choosing to love aziraphale’s desire to do things the human way even if he could just miracle it. i want crowley choosing to love aziraphale’s angel-ness because it is a fundamental part of him.

i want aziraphale choosing to love everything about crowley and vise versa. and i want it to be a very conscious and intentional choice.

it being fate negates the entire point of the story. good omens is a love story between an angel and a demon, yes. but that’s not all that it is. it’s a story about two occult/ethereal beings who choose humanity over the great plan. two beings who choose the world over armageddon. and they make those choices because despite it all they have chosen to fall in love with the world and with humanity.

it only makes sense that they choose each other. that they choose their love. it being fate or god’s will ruins the foundational pillar of their relationship. that they choose each other over and over and over again. year after year, century after century, time and time again. they always choose. they choose the arrangement, they choose saving the other from harm, they choose lying to protect the other.

it is always a choice. and it better stay a choice or i am going to be so devastated.

#i've been thinking about the boys game a lot. #the event at the end of the movie that most of us first recognized as the cycle #(or at least most of whom i've interacted with after first finishing the film) #I'm gonna be honest this all started because i was making an edit #but that's neither here nor there. #Essentially i was confused about *the game* #and was wondering whether nigel won or lost before i realized i was looking at it all wrong #duh #Nigel was talking about the creation of the game that he would contribute to #not how it's played #which only became glaringly obvious to me after i'd sat there with my thoughts for almost a half hour #(give me a break i'm not stupid i've just had a rough few weeks) #Everybody played their part perfectly the schools order begins to fall apart #(alex headmaster's son leaves. nigel grandmaster's son dead alongside his parents. etc.) #the valiant hero forsakes the religious organization (McKenzie) #and everyone else takes their place unknowingly simply through existing. #Alex finds another boy and so it begins. #Finally out of death grief suffering and ruined sanity; the game starts but we don't ever see it. #start with a Jack and then fabricate the game #like minds #nigel colbie #alex forbes #murderous intent

There’s nothing to spoil. So far I have no plans to ever ship Coppernob with anyone. 

And engine relationships do exist in the Bird universe – which is not a given in my fics, lol. But Nobby will never ‘get’ this sort of thing. It’s a character arc for him that he becomes less condemnatory and more understanding about others ‘aping human affections’ (this is similar to all his internalized good-engines-don’t bullshit about naming yourself, too). Some of his attitude is because that’s what he was taught, but I also think he’s slow to move beyond it because he’s naturally the vehicular equivalent of acearo. He loves others deeply; that’s the whole series! Just… not in these kind of ways. 

If this does ever change, it will probably be because when I get around to writing his fiercely explosive relationship with Mars – F.R. 44, ex-W.&.F.J.R. 3 (this was back in the 1860s-1880s) – I find that it just runs away with me and turns into “what’s gayer, being gay or whatever these two have going on.”
