“Love, hide!” Hobie yells in his mic, mouse clicking rapidly as he panics to hide from the pixelated monster. He hears your screams bouncing around in his headphones.

“Where?! There's nothing here!” Your character frantically runs around as the monster is hot on your tail.

“You just passed it! Hold on!” Hobie exits his hiding place, intercepting the monster’s attention from you to him. “Hey, E.T. lookin' arse, over here!” the monster has now latched on to him, pulling aggro for you.

“Hobie, noooo!” You see Hobie's character get eaten in one bite. He groans at his death screen briefly before showing him your character watching in the background, emoting a crying face.

“Fuck you!” The monster turns around to chase you again. “Your sacrifice won't be in vain!” running, you play ring around the rosie with the monster, your screams of terror turning into laughter.

Hobie's spectating your POV, laughing loudly at your expense. He flicks his eyes to the second monitor to read the chat, his smiling morphing into annoyance.

“E-dating?! You think we're e-dating?! Chat, what the bloody hell?” Hobie moves so animatedly that his headset almost falls off.

He sees his chat go wild, their comments vary from ‘you've probably never seen her irl, bro’ to ‘They're definitely not! Have you seen them ogling each other through the camera?’

“Where's my fuckin' mod?! Ned ban their arse!” Hobie chuckles through his threat, clearly just joking. He still hears you laughing hysterically in his headphones, making him grin despite the bullying from his chat. Then he hears your character ‘oof’

“I died” you say dejectedly. “Fucker got me, looks like you sacrificed yourself for nothing, Hobie.”

“That's alright I forgive you because there's somethin' else that's more important.” He turns around in his chair, looking over his shoulder to look at the green cloth behind him. “Love, can you tell ‘em we're not e-dating and that we're literally in love”

Hobie opens his green screen curtain to reveal you sitting on your own desk, your back turned away from him. Your spare monitor shows his livestream, you quirk an eyebrow when you see yourself in his camera.

The chat goes completely wild, some spamming emojis, some are just straight up key smashing.

You look over your shoulder with a smile, waving at his camera. Swiveling your chair, you wheel towards Hobie's desk, laying your chin atop his shoulder. He holds your hand subtly under the desk, squeezing thrice.

“Is this enough proof?”

Everyone clipped the entire thing.

Long-Distance date/bonding ideas I've learned while making it work with my femme

Streamed Movie Night: Discord has a function that let's you stream video and gaming alike! I'd recommend Nitro because otherwise stream quality is gonna SUCK (and you need to do some weird fiddling to get services like Netflix to work) but you can enjoy movie night with your boo

Tabletop Simulator: If you both have about $20, and a computer with even a low budget graphics processor, this program is invaluable. The base games are neat but the real trove is in the Steam Workshop. Mod makers upload hundreds of boardgames from Catan to Azul to outright heavy ones like D&D and Warhammer. My femme and I now have a weekly boardgame night (she actively challenges me at strategy games and it makes me so happy to have a partner that does 🥰)

Coffee shop dates: Go to a place where the shop has wifi (or you have a really good data plan with your phone), pop your headphones in, and just video call. I promise you, there will be more people there who find it sweet than those who find it weird.

Spotify Jam Sessions: I don't know about other music apps, but we both have spotify and it now has a function that let's you invite others to a shared listening session. Music is really important to both my femme and myself, and the ability for us to literally listen at the same time and talk about the music is truly quite lovely.

Parallel crafting time: Admittedly, I'm Neurodivergent as hell, and parallel play baseline is big for me. But pop on a videocall and make some crafts together. Bonus points if you get similar materials and share what you've made together

Call every night: no seriously, even if you both are busy the entire day and can't talk, call for at least a half hour or so to round your day off. That lack of certain forms of intimacy means you need to be really on top of other forms. On top of affirming love for one another. If you're trying to make long distance work long term, calling to just. Be with eachother is so important.

Schedule Time: As an extension of the above, just because you're calling every day, doesn't mean ensuring you have dedicated time for eachother isn't important. I'm talking like. An afternoon/evening once a week type thing. Be together for a long period of time while you can't be physically together.

Technology has honestly made what I always thought impossible for myself feel possible. The advent of videocalling my femme every day helps so much of the potential pitfalls that could have happened, and the best part is its more or less free (I pay for discord nitro but I digress). Don't get me wrong I'm having my hard days still. The inability to hold her when I want to take care of her is particularly bad. I show care and love through things like physical touch and food so much. But getting creative, and being consistent have really made this feel possible and sustainable until we get to the "next stages" bridge.

It was a day of celebration on earth, a day for love, something the humans did for their significant other. When the autobot's first arrived on earth it was something both Ratchet and Optimus had discovered but never have celebrated before. At first it sounded silly to the medic, why there needed to be a day to express one another's love, and why you couldn't express the same love everyday for the rest of your life.

Optimus seemed to have a small understanding, explaining it was just an extra special day for lovers to express even more, to devote and make the day about themselves. Still, Ratchet found it silly, and so it wasn't really something neither had brought up again, until it did.

The autobot leader and his most trusted friend, his lover, his conjunx endura, have been together since the beginning of the war between autobot's and decepticon's. Both found comfort and love with one another, charging through every battle together, nothing holding them back. It's a bond that can never be torn apart.

Ratchet had finally caved and decided to ask June about this valentine's day, to get a better insight from another human. Although she might've not been the best choice, considering her former partner had left her and Jack on their own, she was the only one Ratchet trusted, and she was happy to talk to him about it.

Ratchet wanted to finally celebrate the day with Optimus, to express his love, to give him extra attention. At first he thought it was a day for expressing love, exchanging gifts, and having the day for themselves, but that wasn't all. June had blurted out about making things interesting in the bedroom before becoming flustered and apologised, but Ratchet insisted on knowing more.

It seemed he found something of interest.

In the evening, Ratchet took Optimus out for a delightful evening together. It was simple, but perfect. A beautiful night of breathtaking clear skies, an enchanting evening for stargazing. Together they lay on the ground, wrapped in each other's embrace, whispering promises of everlasting love and relishing the tender moment.

The moon glows down on them, and it felt the right moment to play some slow dancing music and lean into one another while swaying with some of earth's gentle music. Different from cybertron, but it's a beautiful harmony. Ratchet leans his helm against Optimus' chassis, silently thanking for his happiness and love to grow with Optimus, his leader, his friend, his spark. Optimus wouldn't be here today without Ratchet, he's been there for him through everything, protecting and helping him no matter what. He couldn't ask for a better friend and lover.

Returning to base, Ratchet had one more surprise for Optimus. Entering their shared quarters, the room was already set up with the lights dimmed, warm hues highlighting areas in the room.

“What’s this?” Optimus questions curiously, astonished optics glancing around.

Ratchet smiles delicately and slides his servos up across Optimus' chassis again, bringing his helm down and sharing a graceful kiss with him “Happy Valentine's day.”

A flood of warmth rushes through him again, the pulsing love continues to throb between them. "Happy Valentine's day."

Ratchet lets out a delightful hum then. "I have a gift for you. I've been working on it this week, and I hope you like it." Optimus is given the gift, and upon opening, he's astounded by just what Ratchet had given him. "It's a spike sleeve, with added ridges for stimulation, and I've added a mod that vibrates, providing excellent pleasure for us both."

Optimus can't hold back his growing smile. "It certainly is beautiful. How would you like to proceed?"

"I want you to decide. Tonight, I want you to do what you want." Usually, Optimus lets Ratchet decide and that's how it's been mostly.

Optimus is touched by his offer. "Are you sure?"

"I'm certain, my love."

"Then...perhaps tonight, I'll try it."

They proceed, sharing soft kisses while sitting on the berth and Ratchet slowly pumping at Optimus' spike, circling his digit across his twitching tip and using his other servo to rub between the folds of his valve, adding another skillful digit against his sensitive node. Ratchet knows how to take care of him, to bring him an adoring amount of pleasure at any pace possible.

Once throbbing hard, Ratchet helps slide the sleeve over his spike, slowly rolling it down and making sure it's snug around him. "How does that feel? Not too tight?"

"No, it's perfect, but I'm concerned about the girth. While it's...alluring, I don't want to hurt you."

"You could never hurt me, I promise."

Ratchet feels a rush of arousal rushing through him, frame quivering excitedly at the thought of being buried down on him, knowing the sleeve has extended his size and the added mod will provide even more pleasure. Moving himself, he straddles Optimus' lap, servos running across his shoulders onto the back of his helm.

Slowly, he positions himself over his spike and grinds down along the thick girth, gliding his valve along the length, his own spike now extended out and rubbing up against Optimus between their heated bodies. An emotion of thrill bursts out, full of love and happiness.

"Lay on the berth." Optimus says, wanting to be on top and face his lover. Ratchet doesn't hesitate and spreads his thighs wide for him to settle against. The mighty love pules through their sparks, desperately wanting to reach out to one another, but not yet.

"I love you, Optimus." Ratchet lets out a husky whisper, sharing another kiss, before finally feeling his thick spike slide into his eager valve, and indeed, the sleeve provided much more thickness for the medic to take, something he was more than happy to have buried deep in him.

Optimus lets out a low groan from his chassis as he clenches his dentas together, watching himself slowly sink into Ratchet, each rippled ridge passing his plump valve lips. It's intoxicating, watching yourself frag your lover, an addictive thrill Optimus always enjoyed.

Ratchet arches his back from the berth while using his servos to cling onto his lover's broad shoulders. "Primus. Feels wonderful. Please, Optimus, don't stop moving."

He didn't need to be told twice and continued to push himself inside, until he was fully embedded, and slowly drew his waist back and forth, gently rocking into him and keeping a slow pace. The size of his spike and the sleeve provided the perfect pleasure for them both, the rippled ridged gliding through Ratchet's valve as he clenched around him, letting out fierce moans.

Optimus smiles between his heated vents, grunting softly after each delivered thrust. Then, he remembers. "How do you activate the mod?"

Ratchet looks at him and lets out a greedy smirk. "So eager for it? Alright than." He had the activator, and once he does this, the sleeve starts vibrating. This causes both him and Optimus to let out surprised shouts through their eager groans.

The whole sleeve pulsed rapidly with the vibrations Ratchet had installed, never even testing it out on himself, this was the first, and he couldn't have praised himself even more just how damn clever he was. What a beautiful sensation he felt rushing through him.

"Optimus!" He cried out through a lingering mewl, thighs clenching firmly around his lover's thin waist as he pumped his spike into him rapidly. Optimus lets out heated grunts against Ratchet's neck, dentas nibbling against the sensitive cables as he rocks his hips against the medic in a firm and brisk pace, loving how the sleeve feels around his spike and buried deep in his lover.

Ratchet feels his channel stretching more, a bulging lump formed at his lower abdomen, craving and loving the feeling it gave him. His own spike and sensitive node is stimulated against Optimus through his rapid thrusts, increasing by the second, hips rutting against him over again. It was going to be over shortly, this they both knew, and they didn't hesitate holding back.

Without words, Optimus kisses Ratchet, glossas tangling together with hungry moans, devouring each others lips and swallowing one another's muffled sounds, right before Ratchet feels himself overload, spike shooting sticky fluids as his valve compulses, the thick spike suddenly throbbing even more before Optimus overloads deeply in him, letting out a muffled loud moan against the kiss.

Ratchet made sure that his fluids could be emptied inside him, even with the sleeve on, and lowered the vibrations to a stop as Optimus slowed his movements to soft jerks and lay half against his frame, cooling fans kicking in hard from both of them. His servo touches between them as he caresses the bump formed against him, loving out his pulsed under his servo.

"So, like the present?" Ratchet manages to ask between heated vents, feeling proud of himself and very satisfied.

"I adore it. Thank you." Optimus smiles, servo caressing his cheek plating and kissing him once more. "I love you."

"As I love you, darling."

Raising a child on your own was hard, of course you had help along the way but for the most part you were winging it with very little experience. You, the godmother of your now adopted child, was the only person who could take them in as the deceased parents had no other connections or relatives who could. It was a large burden to carry as a teenager back then, but you grew past it and pushed ahead.

There were harsh times where it was difficult to even feed the two of you, but you managed to get past and live a rather comfortable life in your small cabin.

Across the time you were caring for the child, you happened to meet a certain gutsy ninja with a rather childish attitude. He was fun, your child immediately gaining an attachment to him. You'd soon realize that it wasn't just your child who had gotten an attachment to Naruto, but you yourself as well.

Naruto admired you. He couldn't ever imagine being a single parent and knew how difficult it could be, so the boy took it to himself to help you as much as he could. Babysitting, teaching, or just general hangouts, he'd always be there to help out and bring joy to the two of you!

Soon, you three were already like a little family. Inside your child's head Naruto was practically their father, and you noticed how clingy they'd get when Naruto had to leave.

He's the sweetest and you can find yourself wondering what if you three were really a family? Naruto coming home from work to greet the two of you... Family trips... Just a thought. Would Naruto be okay with that? Imagining him as your husband...

Of course, Naruto was more than willing to marry you, but he'd never tell you that! Not yet, at least. It's also a dream of his, being able to hold your hand and raise the little one with you. Your child tells all their friends all about Naruto, isn't it just endearing?

So imagine how happy Naruto is when he gets called "papa" by this kid who he saw as his own child for the first time. The boy is grinning his head off as his attention is turned to the small human. You're there watching too, of course, and it warms your heart to no end.

Things move smoothly and naturally once you two finally decide to get together, and your child is more than ecstatic to live with their father figure. Naruto's always been so kind and endearing, so you have no mistake in marrying him <3

I myself am still on my journey of watching more swana films (and non-english and non-Western films) so I won't claim to be any sort of exhaustive expert. but here are some of my favourites!

Salt of this Sea (2008). Dir. Annemarie Jacir. Palestinian film about a Palestinian-American woman heisting an Israeli bank

The Persian Version (2023). Dir. Maryam Kershavez. Comedy about an Iranian-American lesbian who gets pregnant after a one night stand and so decides to learn more about her family history.

Kedi (2016). A calming and beautiful Turkish documentary about the cats of Istanbul

Ali's Wedding (2017). A rom-com about an Iraqi-Australian Muslim who falls in love with the Lebanese girl from his mosque who's helping him get into med school.

The Man Who Sold His Skin (2020). Tunisian thriller about a syrian refugee who agrees to let his back be tattooed and be part of a living exhibition by a notorious artist so he can get a visa.

Sirens (2020). A documentary about the queer Lebanese all-girl metal band, Slave To Sirens, set around the Beirut explosion.

In Vitro (2019). A short Palestinian sci-fi film about an elderly woman in an underground bunker trying to describe the world before to a young woman who's only ever known the bunker.

Cairo Time (2009). Dir. Ruba Nadda. Look, this film isn't perfect but It's about a white American woman who's husband is a UN worker in Egypt. She goes to visit him in Cairo, but her husband is waylaid so he sends his bestie played by the beautiful Alexander Siddig to take her around Cairo and oh my GOD the romantic tension of this movie keeps me up at night.

Butterflies (2018). One of my fave movies ever. A Turkish comedy about 3 estranged siblings who have to take a chaotic road trip to fulfil their father's last wishes.

So after 700 hours of gaming, four restarts due to glitches, five or more different startings, I finally FINALLY finished a playthrough of BG3. SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT

So, the playthrough I finished, funny enough, is a Durge run with my girl Octavia. She's a fucking badass monster who wooed God Gale and Ascended Astarion (thank you mods 🙏) and I saved before making the big choice of whether or not to take control yourself or kill the netherbrain. And (of course) I had her control the brain first choice. And I'm kind sad that there was nothing more. Like, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her sit on that throne of hers and say 'In my name's like the Queen she is. But Ascended Astarion, who was also all for taking over everyone and the world, was not standing by her side. Even after watching with a satisfied smirk as she took control of their friends. And even more so, since he was by her side, I'm a little disappointed there wasn't an ending with them both showing, taking over the world afterwards. A bit of lackluster ending tbh.

HOWEVER, I did reload so I could see the other ending(s). Something definitely glitched with my mod, as I am supposed to get all endings of the ones my 'Tav' is dating. But I had to reload in for those as well. Nonetheless, here are my thoughts on those.

First: God Gale. Sad I didn't get a bed scene with him, but also understandable since he was away looking for the crown. Loved that I could act like I totally didn't want to be a goddess by Gale's side to Tara and had her wanting me to visit Gale's mom. Gale, darling, love. You wouldn't have gotten the crown without my help in the first place. Step down from the clouds a bit and kneel to your queen goddess. Love you, kisses. Thank you for taking me up to heavens with you my love 🖤

Second: Ascended Astarion. Ho ho ho oh my gods. Haha I hate that I love it. But it's also so perfect for my evil little Queen. She fits by his side to rule so perfectly. The matching outfits he insisted on and the subtle "I should have been the one throwing the party" 😂 My darling, you can throw one at our castle and invite all our dearest friends. I promise. Now, pour me some blood so I can sit up on your lap

Over all, still a 10/10. Looking forward to finishing my other 'Tav's to see their endings. I'll be sure to update the poly mod for my self insert too cause I'll be romancing Shadowheart, Gale, Astarion, and Halsin 🥰🖤🖤

Bittersweet

We all know honey gets sweeter when you stir it up, but can you make it bitter too? What happens when we give you a fluff prompt but ask you to give us angst? We get bittersweet jily, addictive and delicious. Oh and how about when you turn our angsty prompt into sweet nothings and sugar coated love declarations? Absolute delight! Come ask for your prompt and twist it to your flavour

The participants will be given a fluff prompt which should be interpreted as angst. And vice versa. Those interested in participating in this challenge can send an ask, and a prompt will be assigned to you! (Yes, both writers and artists can participate 🥰). There is no deadline to register for this event.

Masquerade challenge

Are you as good as a Marauder at detective work? Can you sniff an authors tells at the poker table? Can you sense the writer before the end of the story? Can you tell which James loves Lily the most? If you think you can come have a guess 😉

A few writers will write and anonymously submit their fics to the challenge collection (will be posted soon). Readers have to match the fics to the writers. The options for authors will be given via a tumblr poll. Everyone is encouraged to participate :)

The next person on the list will continue the story the next day, 2nd October, by writing 1-3 more (complete!) sentences. This continues till the 31st of October when a complete fic, with all the authors credited, will be released on ao3. Based on the number of sign ups, the order and the number of times each author gets to write will be decided and announced in a later post

The writers are to post their lines as a reblog chain with proper tagging (the jily express and @jilytoberfest ) and numbering (date). In case you want your sentence to be anonymous, you can send an ask to this blog after the person before you has posted their sentence, and we would post yours!

All of these simblrs inspire me (and a lot of others, but I got overwhelmed compiling this list)

@akitasimblr I love how many different gameplays Ana has, and she's dedicated to all of them! I am also a big fan of Le Chat!

@aleksa-sims tells her real life story, it's so brave! And her screenshots are amazing! She is also a very nice person.

@cinamun is an amazing storyteller! I am so invested in her Things Fall Apart, it makes me laugh, cry and think.

@cyazurai has many different gameplays and also posts other games too. It reminds me that I love all kind of games and should play them too, not only sims 😅

@daisydezem is not very active lately, but I love her RainbowSin challenge. Her BACC, Supersim and own playthrough of RainbowSin are so interesting!

@dustbon plays mostly on short lifespan and quickly progresses through legacies. I love it! I'd love to play a legacy on a short lifespan one day too.

@faeriefrolic plays Sims 3. Her sims are cute and wholesome.

@introvertedfox plays vanilla. It inspired me to play vanilla myself, but I always end up with defaults first, them some mods, then some blushes and then it's not vanilla anymore 😅

@llamabees her sims and posts are so colourful! I also love her reshade preset and templates!

@loveryss her sims are cute and her posts are cozy! She also makes great cc!

@oswanily has completed the 100 baby challenge! And Seven Wonders challenge which she created and inspired me to play it too. It's one of the few challenges that I actually completed!

@shmoodlet are an amazing person! They are very supportive and friendly. And their gameplays are always with a bit of a story, which my gameplays are always lack of.

@silwermoon-sims has the cutest sims ever! Her lookbooks and gameplay inspire me to be more creative with my sims!

@simspaghetti plays Sims 3. Her editing inspired me to try out different editing style myself. Her gameplay rules and Sims 3 guides really helped me get into the game. I plan on using some of her Sims 3 gameplay rules for my Sims 4 gameplays too.

@tipsy-clouds inspired me to play one of the Sims 4 scenarios! I haven't posted it yet, though. Her lookbooks and resources are very helpful!

@waaneco post the most cutest Sims 3 and Sims 4 posts! And their Stardew Valley pics and gifs inspire me to play that game!

I'm so sorry I didn't mention more people! There are a lot more simblrs who inspire me, but it wasn't easy coming up with this list. I know I missed some blogs that I wanted to add, but as I said I got overwhelmed. If I didn't mention you it doesn't mean you don't inspire me! Mods I need in Stardew Valley (I would make them myself if I knew how to do it)

Romancing Caroline. I would do literally anything to steal Pierre's wife away from him. I hate this man. If I didn't hate Joja more, he wouldn't be getting a cent from me. Also, Caroline is lovely and deserves the world. And I don't like Abigail. Ruining her parents' marriage would make me so happy on the inside.

Edit: Nexus mods gaslit me by thinking this didn't exist. Upon a third search (on the same website, might I add), I have found that I can now fulfill my dreams. Omw to marry Caroline 🥰

Marnie breaks up with Lewis. My girl deserves better than him. I'm rooting for her healing and loving herself, but I wouldn’t be mad if she decided to get with Marlon 👀

Farmer can run for mayor. I hate Lewis. You ain't shit without me, bucko. I basically run Pelican Town anyway.

Looking back on Rachel's Dating Adventure

This was a huge project. I decided all this somewhere at the start of December, and here we are, three months later, and my dear Rachel has finally reached the end. Or, actually, the beginning. Of what will hopefully become a great romance.

How I felt throughout this adventure

🥰Moved. I never expected this to get the response it did.

😬Overwhelmed. Thirteen guys is a lot!

😕Apologetic. I always felt a little pinch thinking of the creator when a date didn't work out. I'm sorry your guy didn't make it or if the date showed him in a bad light.

😒Annoyed. This game still does my head in sometimes, especially during gameplay.

😂Amused. This game still makes me laugh out loud sometimes, especially during gameplay.

😘Grateful. All the comments and additional support were amazing. Thank you all for being here for this.

😍In love. Seeing Rachel develop her crush and maybe even deeper feelings touched my heart.

Comparison Chart

To keep track of how it was going and where each guy ranked, I kept score in a comparison chart. See below. I started a list for the second round, but the second round only became one date.

As you can see, Alfie and Trey were pretty much level-pegging and absolutely very strong contenders if Malte hadn't made such a smashing impression.

A note on "attraction"

I talked about the attraction scores with some people and how surprising some of these were. Also, as it turned out, different people have different experiences with the attraction system generally. In my game, it's always the same both ways. I checked it both from Rachel's perspective and from the guy's and each time, it was the same both ways, which is why only one score is noted. In conversations, I realised some people see different attraction scores depending on which of two sims they select. I think this might be influenced by mods. So it's good to note that at the time of playing these dates, I had no mods installed that affected attraction. This is only the game's attraction system at work.

This whole thing wouldn't have been possible without the brilliant ladies sending me their men. I've loved the attention you put into creating these guys, the background information you gave me and seeing the boys interact with Rachel.

@sircesimblr, the fact that you created a whole mini-story to introduce your guys was so heartwarming and touching. You brought me three very different guys, each with a very strong individual personality. I'm sorry Stam didn't get a real chance, but I had to go with the story. Orbin is such a lovely guy, I'm glad I get to keep him in my game and in the animal rescue centre which Honeycomb gained because of him. Who knows, he may find love another way. Klaus-Ove was very funny and I liked him a lot. I still believe he and Rach can be friends.

@flotheory, I'm sorry, I feel Nathanial might not have had a totally fair chance because his date was crashed by another. It was a funny twist to the story, though, and the way he reacted to it all made it even funnier, and I thank you and him for that.

@echoweaver, Even now, I'm still not sure why Craig and Rachel had all those silences. Or the low attraction score. They seemed a good match on paper. Better than they turned out anyway. I thought he was cute and he had good traits.

@echomoria, Jake is so gorgeous! Can he stay? I loved the backstory you created for him and was looking forward to sharing more of that if he were to get a bigger part in the story. Maybe I can find another purpose for him?

@greenplumbboblover, I don't know if you are aware, but Cedrick was a firm favourite with many of the followers of my story. Several people told me, either in comments or in a personal message, that they thought Cedrick seemed an absolutely perfect match for Rachel. And honestly, I thought he'd do well too. I'm sorry it went completely differently.

@sushiikinsss, Despite Drax being much too cocky for Rachel, Trey fixed everything! He was such a darling! You sort of predicted Trey would do better than Drax, and you were very right, haha. I secretly would have liked to see Rach handle being a stepmum!

@nocturnalazure, Your boys stole my heart very early on. The hidden drama of the geeky, socially awkward younger brother always in the shadow of his irresistible and successful big bro. And now they signed up to date the same girl... Ethan was so endearing (as was Pepper!). He tried really hard, and I had to sit on my hands not to interfere and help them along a little bit. Nathan was all charms, but Rachel didn't bite. Though, as I've shown you, there was a background moment between him and someone else that might make for an interesting storyline after all. Let's discuss! 😉

@batsheba, Brave Alfie, going first. It feels like ages since we've seen him, but he was one of the strongest contenders in this whole thing. Rachel couldn't have hoped for a better start than Alfie gave her. He was absolutely wonderful, and I'm truly a little bit sad we didn't see more of him.

And finally, @nornities, where to begin? The letter, the extensive background story and, of course, wonderful Malte himself. It was clear from the moment he arrived that this wasn't just any random dude, this was someone who was special to his creator. I feel privileged that he gets to continue his path in my story. I've fallen a little bit in love with Malte myself, but I think he's in good hands with Rachel. 💗

The 'Real' Date

Like I said before, I gave Rachel and Malte a gameplay trial date: I had them meet up and spend some time together, just the two of them, outside, no special shenanigans. With the sole purpose of seeing if the chemistry they had on the first date was still there. It was clear pretty much straight away that they were still very much into each other. They picked up where they left off and were flirting and amorously hugging again quite quickly and built their relationship to best friends. This was all the incentive I needed to go with the pre-written romantic success date posted over the last few dates.

And, one last thing; after Rachel and Malte had their scripted and posed kiss, I felt I owed it to them to let them have a 'real' one too. Here it is:
