On procreate, what brushes do you use 👀
I use a mass majority of these!! All of these brushes are in the original library that comes with the purchase of Procreate
Will say I rotate through HB No. 1 (sketching and line art) Studio Pen (color fill/cell shading) Soft Airbrush (soft shading/gradient) and Noise (soft shading) the most in comparison to when that last post was made!

Münlala Spikalif
Another one of the flora found on Hoshimi Island, the Münlala's stem and leaf texture is a bit more like a succulent than the other more glass-like stems of other flora found on the island closer to the Crescent Minoria continent. It retains many features suited for a dry climate, perhaps evidencing some influence from the other nearest continent, Koraln Sing, or else potentially Wing Alayna where some of its relatives may be found. It is thought to have some connection to the Omu-omu Plantai due to the similarity of texture between the Münlala's stem/leaves and the bracts of the former. For this reason, it is also thought there could be Münlala with a variety of stem colors including purple, as the Omu-omu Plantai is normally found in purple, but as Hoshimi Island is still newly discovered, there have yet to be any sightings of Münlala with varying stem colors. However, it is quite possible that it could be bred to have a variety of stem colors at the very least, and horticulturists are eager for the chance to prove this hypothesis correct.
As for its glowing fruit, there is still not much known. It is thought to be related to perhaps the Spirra Starra due to the fact they both glow, but their connection is tenuous at best. As samples are sent back to the Queen's Palace in central west Wing Alayna for study, researchers expect to have a better grasp on the properties of this newly discovered flora.

Every year I ask my mum what she wants for christmas and every year she tells me to do her a painting. I love her very much but this is honestly quite exhausting; her taste is not my taste, and it is hard to get inspired. I have given in a few times, and I gave in again this year .
This is a painting inspired a little bit by Bouguereau’s ‘returning from the fields’ and a little by JSS’s ‘carnation lily, lily rose’; then a bunch of her favourite stuff mashed together with lots of colour and cold light.
My psychosis has been pretty bad for the last few weeks, so I was dreading doing this piece. I put it off and off and off, but finally relented halfway in to December. Painting helps me with a lot of my symptoms but painting under pressure (for a deadline or a gift) generally does the exact opposite. That being said I did enjoy this painting, I think because there are so many gratuitous elements I could get myself lost in while I went. A lot of the mental mirage like haze comes across in the final thing, I think. I had a lot of fun with the colours, and figuring out plants for the first time was an interesting challenge. I’m actually happy with it, which is astonishing as I usually yeet these seasonal mother-tithes into the abyss as soon as I’m done with them.
It’s a really nice feeling to finish a painting and think with certainty, yes, actually, this one will be going on the blog.

Lexa makes flower crowns for Clarke while Clarke braids flowers into Lexa's hair 🥺 It looks so beautiful and professionally done that they use themselves as models for Lexa's plant shop business
I cracked open canva for this y'all.
//
Clarke starts finding teeny braided flower strands in her pockets after coming home from dinners at Lexa's, finding perfectly pressed daisies and ferns amongst the pages of her books that she accidentally leaves at Lexa's shop. She weaves the extras in Lexa's hair at the end of the day. Their soft voices carry through the dim shop as Clarke, smelling like paint and turpentine, shows up carrying their favorite Thai food to eat as she sits on the dirt dusted counter, eyes following Lexa adoringly as she sweeps up the shop at the end of work hours.
A teenage girl happens to walk in one slow afternoon when Clarke and Lexa are taking turns lacing delicate clusters of flowers into each other's braids, giggling softly as they do so. It becomes a hit for the town's spring fling dance, the majority of the girls there showing up to the dance with bright daisies, tiny smatters of baby's breath, beautifully sweet white peonies woven into neatly tucked braids. Clarke takes a few shots of Lexa on her dad's old Polaroid camera, Lexa doing the same in turn the day they venture out to the meadow just outside of town. Those become the centers of Lexa's shop's website, the photos soon popping up on tumblr and pinterest shortly after.
A few years later, Clarke has sprigs of lavender, bunches of baby's breath , teeny strands of yellow jasmine tucked into her hair when Lexa proposes in that same meadow, adoring smile cracking over her cheeks as tears pour like summer rain down Clarke's face. When they get married in the spring the year after, Clarke laces flowers through the golden braids that run like golden water down her back, knowing that Anya is doing the same to Lexa's hair a few doors away.

Prompt: Fictober: "You lost it. Well, we lost it."
Fandom: Lumine
Summary: Camille can't find one of her notebooks.
Content Warnings: None that I can think of!
Words: 453
“Hey, did you see where I put my book?” Camille asked as she pulled blankets and pillows back; when nothing fell out of their clutches, she sighed and slid off of the bed. “I thought that Charlotte brought it to me last night right before I fell asleep, but I can’t find it anymore.”
“The small one? About the size of your palm?” Kody barely glanced back over his shoulder, still bouncing his ink pen between his fingers. “The one that you usually keep track of what you need for potions in?”
“Yup, that’s the one.” She sighed again as she ran her fingers through the back of her hair. “Not sure where it would’ve fallen. I’ve checked all over the bed, and Charlotte didn’t take it to my desk.”
“So... You lost it.” Kody said, pausing as he turned his attention back to the sheet of paper and bottles in front of him; he reached out, taking one bottle with a flower in it and turned it around against his palm. “Well, we lost it. I borrowed it for a little bit this morning and put it back by your pillow. By the way, I can’t read this. It looks like morning glory, but.”
“Hell’s bells. Don’t use it for anything. It’s for conjuring, not anything someone can ingest. And what do you mean you borrowed it?”
“Do I look like Sera?” Kody’s eyes flickered back to her. “I’m not going to start taking things that I can’t read the label on. Or potions themselves… I just needed to look at some of your notes to help categorize everything. You take really good notes.” When you actually take them and they’re legible. He tacked on silently.
“Give her some credit, she was sick that day. And I had it bedside, anyway. Wouldn’t you think that it was something for a cold, too?”
“No. Not when I know how you are.”
“Fair, fair. So… You put it back next to my pillow. Lumine left with Sera earlier, right?”
“Yeah. Think one of them took it?”
She nodded, taking a seat next to Kody on the floor. “Probably. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did, Sera’s been doing a lot of our shopping lately when she doesn’t have work, and Lumine’s been going with her…”
“Guess that would make sense, then. Shouldn’t one of us go with them, though?”
“Sera’s not bad at identifying high-quality ingredients. So don’t worry too much. She might not know a lot about potions themselves, but. She does know what to look out for.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Kody rolled his eyes, scribbling into his own notebook again, and then writing onto an adhesive label. “Still. Keep your stuff organized better.”

Unearthly Plant Photos by Tom Leighton Highlight Nighttime Chemical Processes
Otherworldly in appearance, Tom Leighton’s photographs center on stems and leaves that emit a luminous glow, unveiling their delicate structures and highlighting their chemical processes. His Variegation II series reveals the nightlife of foliage—Leighton focuses on plants from Cornwall, some of which he grows in his garden and others farther afield—and examines what humans might have been able to see if our night vision had evolved.
The ongoing project also explores the possibilities of color manipulation. After photographing the plants, Leighton digitally strips back their characteristic greenish hues, using dreamy fluorescent colors to represent the photosynthesis process.
