A Challenge #indieroller challenge day 5! 💕 A challenge for me was overcoming the 'traditional art establishment' mentality, realising how many options there were for me was liberating and empowering. ☀️ I had toned down my art to try and make it more 'traditional mainstream' and I was paying out to just have my art looked at to be considered for big exhibitions (yeah that's a thing that's developed in the visual art world and there are campaigns against 😱💰). I discovered an amazing woman and artist called Ann Rea, she is definitely worth checking out and uber inspirational. She has so much wisdom and practical advice for artists and art business. DEAR FEAR:

So the last few days of the week have been horrendous. Lots of financial upsets and worries, I even reached out to my Mum. Yet there have been many good things to be greatful for.

Yes working on making money when you have so many disabilities and in so much physical and mental pain is harder than ever and there are so many things holding me back. Those beliefs that I ‘don’t deserve anything nice’ ‘you don’t know’ ‘you’re always trying to make yourself look good and put everyone down’ the horrible tone that hostile words are spoken to me with, really well and truly put me down so much.

That’s mainly come from my family, not the family I chose, my birth family. The family I’ve chosen big me up, oh Wendy and Mummy Sue are the best, my Niece is my little gift from heaven, I miss her so much it hurts. My sister is not wanting contact with me, a stark change from whence she said she hated it when I cut off contact with them all for all the negativity sent my way. That is just not on, I’m trying to make a life of the fullest best time and fun and joy and learning. The fear of ‘failure’ is what drives my family.

I have a plan in place which will mean I can be self-sufficient and thrive and grow. That’s because I have more people on my side than ever before that want to see me rise, not fall. And reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero (on to the green book now!!) and the Making Art Making Money course is helping tremendously as I read the book “Uncertainty” by Jonathon Fields...... and not forgetting all the amazing gifts bestowed on me from the Marie Claire UK magazine events At Work Live and Future Shapers Live really are making a difference for me. So here is my endeavours to come forth and save myself from my birth family’s downing and gaslighting me. No I don’t want your fear.

FEAR: DO ONE!! GO AWAY YOU ARENT WANTED OR NEEDED.
