10 (Mostly) Spoiler-Free Reasons to Watch Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon 2003 Live Action

A countdown to the 20th anniversary of Act 1 air date!

Reason 6: A more developed ✨Miracle Romance✨!

How can one ever talk about Sailor Moon without discussing the most iconic and legendary couple in history that rivals Romeo and Juliet - Usagi & Mamoru?

Had the live-action done this couple's story dirty, they might as well chuck the whole project out the window! Thankfully, they didn't screw it up, and in fact, I personally think their love story got a further glow-up!

A more well-rounded developed relationship

The live-action gave more space and time to develop Mamoru and Usagi's relationship, making it more believable, and realistic, and proving to the audience their feelings for each other are genuinely mutual! It started off with an almost antagonistic, pigtail-pulling relationship, developing into what seems to be a "one-sided" crush because they are both so oblivious, to mutual love and respect.

Like seriously - this is how Usamamo meets in Act 1 (shhhhhh, it's Act 1, barely a spoiler):

While technically this is also another spoiler, I'm going to say it anyway to highlight the difference here: Basically, Usagi falls in love with Mamoru AND comes to terms that she's in love with Mamoru and "not Tuxedo Mask" before finding out Mamoru's true identity and their shared past life. I think this is such an important, and much better narrative because it leaves no room for debate that Usagi is in love with Mamoru for the right reasons, instead of being in love with the idea of him because he's Tuxedo Mask and it's romantic. In fact, how romantic it is to consider Usagi fell in love with the same person twice without realizing it???? I think that’s romantic!

To me, there's a difference between "they are bound to fall in love with each other because it is their destiny" versus "they fell in love with each other just as it was foretold by destiny". The live-action strictly falls into the latter category. It's all a matter of choice and agency from the characters!

More dramarama!

The live-action seriously amped up the drama between the two of them, on both fronts regarding their personal lives and also their heroic lives! The additional dramatic elements (that I will NOT spoil) created a heightened "will they, won't they" tension that will make UsaMamo fans anxious to watch. There's quite a bit of mutual pining for Usamamo fans to look forward to in the live-action!

Angst is also a must in the live-action universe, and it's a treat to watch these two coming together trying to defy the odds. Even the filming angle and post-production editing go all out to amp that up!

Minimal "damsel in distress" routine, reverse or otherwise!

I know... it's a running gag in the manga and anime universe that Mamoru always gets kidnapped or brainwashed. Thankfully, the live-action took a different trajectory with their storytelling.

That's not to say there's zero kidnapping/held hostage-type situation, etc. But even in such scenarios, the Prince of Earth always is still in control and does everything he can to ultimately come to a resolution in his own way.

Personally, I don't care much for Mamoru in manga and anime verse, thinking he's just there to make Usagi look good, but I actually like Mamoru's character in the live-action. No matter as Tuxedo Kamen or Prince Endymion, he has quite a bit of involvement in battle scenes. And he is ACTUALLY competent and pairs up really well with Usagi as a couple and with Sailor Moon as a fighter. Some of their duo fight scenes are really cool!

Oh. And there's none of the "kissing you while you are asleep/unconscious" stuff. I'm not going to argue it wasn't romantic in the manga, etc. But times have changed since the original material was written/drawn, and I don't think that's something that will fly well with people in this current age and time. The live-action caught on with the time and used other techniques to make the romance pop instead, and for that I am thankful!

Opposite attracts

Mamoru is written a bit differently than manga and anime. Mamoru's more aloof, prickly, and definitely tsundere. He becomes awkward when he warms up, which is really adorable to see. Also, he wears leather jacket and rides a motorcycle, which amps up his "cool" factor by... A LOT!!!

Usagi is mostly the same as manga and anime, but less crybaby. Like I mentioned before in part 2 of this, Usagi is not exaggeratedly "stupid", just slower, and appropriately immature and innocent for someone her age who hasn't experienced much adversaries until the Senshi business. (No, butt-heading with your little brother doesn't count. lol)

So all's to say in the live-action, they really build up this whole opposite-attracts kind of deal with Usamamo, and where Usagi had to work to see through Mamoru's prickly exterior and soften him up.

Also, I think they cast Mamoru and Usagi really well. Just look at their height difference! Another thing that makes them look so good together????

Oh boi oh boi

Yeah Arti is my favorite because of 2 reasons: she reminds me of my other fav character (Undyne Undertale) and, well, ANGST

Yeah, the more angst the character has in their story, the bigger chance that they have to become my favorite

OH AND HEY, WANNA FUNNY THING? So, like, revenge theme was always, like, my thing. I wrote a THREE fanfics in HTTYD fandom with this theme. The first one was Hiccup killing people for Toothless' death, then vise versa, then (really funny) they both killed for each other, thinking that the other was dead. Fun thing that Toothless' style of revenge was similar to Arti's. I mean, kill everyone. No you can't read them (unless you know russian)

Sorry, i got distracted haha

So, you can guess that on the second place i have Hunter and Saint. Yes, both of them. Why Hunter isn't the first place? Weeell... Idk? When character dies, they just die, the end. When character loses someone they love... They get to live and suffer. Yeah. But still, being on a countdown? Angsty enough.

And Saint... Well, i like them mostly for their brainblast power. Yeah, if the character is strong and/or has some cool power i will probably also like them.

On the third place i have Spearmaster, and i should mention them because back in 2021 i thought they would be my favorite. Because that time we already knew many things about Downpour (which wasn't a thing yet, it was just More Slugcats, legendary mod). And there were like few gameplay videos and a whole stream with Spearmaster's campaign. And i remember that the person was told not to go to shoreline because of the massive spoilers (we were like WHY IS TGAT, IS IT BECAUSE MOOOON IS ALIIVEE???) (we were right lol). Instead they went to five pebbles and he ripped out the pearl from SM. And i was like OMG SO CRUEL I LOVE IT LOOK THEY'RE BLEEDING THEY'RE BLEEDING THEY HAVE FUCKING SCAR!!! and i immediately got few headcanons, that after the Wanderer (from Drought mod) failed their mission on bringing the gold pearl to Five Pebbles, SRS was mad so he took another slugcat, modified them without asking, sew a perl in them so they won't lose it and won't give it to Moon and sent to FP. And i was like OMG ANGST MM YUM YUM

And now it turned out that SRS is actually a good guy and actually cares about Spear and it's no fun ☹️ but the pearl episode is still great yum yum yum

Funny thing that about Arti we knew that she is, well, SHE, and that she fights scavs, has explody powers and cant stay underwater. And karma 1 locked. About Saint we knew that they have brain blast powers and were wondering if they gonna have it in the new version or no. Btw, i started shipping Artisaint in that time too. Like, strong, loud killer and weak quiet saint who can't even hold spears.

Oh well. I'm talking for too long now. Thanks for the question i guess 😅

Nace Countdown to Christmas - Day 3

first time being sick and getting cared for by their partner

“That walk was more tiring than I thought,” Nancy says with a smile, blowing out a breath and tugging off her jacket. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes bright. “I’m ready to take a nap.”

“I think we can arrange that,” Ace replies with a laugh. “Save me a spot on the couch.”

Nancy leaves him a little room, snuggled completely under the blankets and barely visible by the time he makes it to her. She settles into his warmth with a shiver. “Now I’m so cold.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll warm you up.”

True to his word, Ace is very warm when he wakes, trying to shift the blanket off of him without disturbing Nancy, who’s still dead to the world. Only to realize that the majority of heat is coming from Nancy herself. Her hair is damp with sweat at her temples and a quick steal of his palm across her forehead confirms his suspicions.

She stirs against him sleepily and blinks up at him. “I feel terrible.”

“I’d be surprised if you didn’t. You have a fever. Come on, a cool shower will help you feel better.”

“I don’t wanna,” she grumbles pitifully.

“I promise I’ll have a surprise waiting for you when you’re done.”

Somewhat intrigued, half-miserable, and half-too sick to argue, Nancy dutifully follows Ace to the bathroom, allowing him to undress her and hand her into the shower. He’s managed to get the water to the perfect amount of warm but not hot. And he’s right, she does feel a little better when she emerges.

Wrapping herself in a pullover of Ace’s to stave off the chill, she follows the scent of something delicious into the kitchen just as Ace is laying a bowl of soup on the table for her. “Is this my surprise?”

“And this,” he says, turning to grab a mug from the counter, steam rising from it enticingly.

“Coffee?” she asks hopefully.

“Tea. With honey, for your throat.”

Nancy makes a noise of discontent but sits, propping her head in her hand and stirring her soup. She looks up at Ace’s concerned and sympathetic smile. “I can’t believe I got sick right when I took the week off so we could spend time together. My immune system is legendary!”

“Nancy, your body has been in a state of high stress for so long, and you just gave it permission to take the day off. I’m surprised you don’t have the plague.”

“Who says I don’t?”

Ace laughs. “I promise to still kiss you, even if you have the plague, how about that?”

“And then you get sick too, and we end up with two weeks off together? I like the sound of that.”

And here we are, at the end of this countdown. Hope you’re having fun with Indigo Disk! I’m gonna be doing that when this post goes up since it’s queued for that day.

I’m just gonna cut to the chase here. Koraidon is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite Pokémon. And I’m gonna gush so much that I feel it’s probably best to describe the scene here, and have the gushing under the cut. Koraidon (or Scarlet, as I nicknamed mine) is with Ogerpon and Dipplin since they rep the DLC.

Okay, let’s start from the beginning…

For a while after ScVi released, I didn’t buy it. I looked at the glitches and kinda thought it just wasn’t worth it. Well, until some people told me it was actually pretty good, the glitches were the main problem and they’d been mostly patched.

So on my 18th birthday, I’d buy Scarlet off the eshop as a little gift for myself, just to see what it was like. I chose that version because I preferred the overall aesthetic over Violet.

Pretty soon after I started, that’s when I met Koraidon. I find them injured on a beach, and I gave sandwich to help them regain their strength. They ended up saving me in a cave after a Houndoom attacked me, but they’re still not entirely able to fight.

As it turns out, they belong to Arven, a grouch who happens to be the professor’s kid. Apparently he kinda hates Koraidon, so he just decides to leave him with me. From then on, I’m able to ride upon Koraidon! At first, there’s not a lot they’re capable of, but that changes quickly.

See, Arven’s on a quest for Herba Mystica, a legendary plant that gives great power to any who consume it. These are what happen to power up Koraidon, the first giving them the ability to quickly dash, and the second giving them the ability to swim.

At the second one, I find out that Arven’s not so bad actually, as he’s going on this journey for his injured Pokémon to heal. And not only do I learn more about Arven, but also about Koraidon. At one point, Arven speculates that Koraidon isn’t just physically unable to fight, but they might also have some trauma holding them back.

Eventually, Arven successfully brings his Pokémon back to full health, but Koraidon’s still unable to battle. But his mom has called him down to Area Zero for some reason…

Once I’ve finished with all three of the main quests, I’m ready to descend into Area Zero. But at first, Koraidon’s too scared to come out of their Pokeball… Slowly, you learn more about Area Zero and the Paradox Pokemon, including that Koraidon are Paradox Pokemon from the past.

Eventually, you meet another Koraidon. But this one isn’t as friendly as my companion, and the latter seems terrified of the former…

And then I meet Sada, or rather the AI made in her likeness, and I learn that my friend was traumatized by the hostile Koraidon bullying them and also the death of the professor.

I have to fight AI Sada now, with all her ancient Pokémon… and then at the end of the battle, the Paradise Protection Protocol is activated, and the hostile Koraidon attacks.

I can’t run, the door is shut. And I can’t throw out my Pokeballs, all are locked except for Sada’s…

Except for one.

I now have to send out my friend, my friend who has been traumatized by the foe they must face down… but they fight. They fight for my sake. They cannot be defeated during the battle, they will tough out all the attacks, and once I Terastralize them, their Tera Blast makes quick work of the bully who they once feared.

And thus, from now on, they are officially able to battle. When you need them to do so, you have to enable their battle mode to put them in your party, though you won’t be able to ride on them until they’re back in riding mode. A lot of people find this annoying, but honestly? I don’t care about that. It just doesn’t feel like a problem for me. I think they’d like a rest from battling sometimes, and I’ll just send them out when I really need them.

I know this has all just been recapping the story of the game, but I don’t know how else to explain how attached I got to my Scarlet. My closest friend, my dearest companion, and my greatest treasure…

I’ll be off tumblr for a bit, I’m just gonna be busy partaking in new adventures with my friend.

Year of the Bat - Number 30

Welcome to Year of the Bat! In honor of Kevin Conroy, Arleen Sorkin, and Richard Moll, I’m counting down my Top 31 Favorite Episodes of “Batman: The Animated Series” throughout this January. EPISODE QUOTE: “My, my. Can we actually have a brain beneath that pointy cowl of ours?” Number 30 is…If You’re So Smart, Why Aren’t You Rich?

This episode acts as the first appearance and origin story for Edward Nygma, a.k.a. the Riddler. The story begins with Nygma working as a programmer and video game designer for an electronics company, run by a greedy sod by the name of Daniel Mockridge. Nygma has created a best-selling puzzle-based video game, called “Riddle of the Minotaur,” where players have to traverse through the legendary labyrinth of the Minotaur, evading various traps and solving various puzzles along the way. Mockridge fires Nygma, who – due to a loophole in his contract – loses all rights to the game and any legal grounds to even receive royalties. Furious, Nygma adopts the guise of the villainous Riddler, and goes on a quest of vengeance against his old employer. The Riddler, for those who don’t know, has always been one of my absolute favorite Batman villains – second only to the Joker himself. (I should also add this was LONG before Paul Dano’s version; I liked the Riddler before it was cool, as the kids say.) I think that John Glover’s portrayal, from the animated series, might have been the very first version of the Riddler I ever saw. I remember renting a VHS tape from a Blockbuster as a little boy (yeah, anyone remember those things?) which had two of Riddler’s episodes on the tape. Both of those episodes, perhaps not coincidentally, are on this main countdown. You would think, with all that said, that this first outing for the criminal genius would be much higher in the ranks. Well, it’s hard to say why, because there’s certainly a lot to enjoy about this episode. Glover’s smug and smarmy Nygma is one of the chief versions of the character out there, and set the standard which many later incarnations – both in and out of comics – would look to for inspiration. The team behind the animated series took a character who had been perceived as “a two-bit gimmick villain” and transformed him into one of the Dark Knight’s cleverest and most cunning adversaries. The tricks and traps (and, of course, the riddles) that the Riddler uses in the story are also pretty ingenious. I also have to say that the ending of this episode is just phenomenal; one of my favorites in the entire show. I won’t give away what it is, but trust me, it’s great. I think the big issue is the Riddler’s origin itself. I like the idea of the Riddler being a programmer and game designer, and they use that to great effect in later stories, too. It’s also something that’s continued to be part of the character, with him being gifted with electronics and technology. However, I feel the turning point for the character doesn’t quite match: while it’s clear that Nygma always had a high opinion of his own mind, and loathed humiliation, it’s hard for me, personally, to make the jump from “disgruntled employee” to “highly theatrical supervillain,” at least in the way the episode presents. The animation is also sort of…iffy, to say the least. Most of the episode looks pretty good, but there are some scenes where the animation or the shots feel a bit “messy,” or a bit “stiff,” for lack of a better word. Still, these are minor nitpicks on the whole: for a first outing of my second favorite Batman villain, this certainly made a good impression. I probably wouldn’t like the Riddler as much as I do now if it weren’t for this episode.

There's a Countdown going on at the official Osomatsu San twitter leading up to a Special Online Screening of "Osomatsu-san: The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit" (and possibly more upcoming information on the next movie coming out this year)

Right, so the official Osomatsu san twitter has been doing a countdown to a special online streaming of "Osomatsu-san ~The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit"

Unfortunately, even though it's an online event it's not available to watch in America....unless you have Nordvpn or one of the many other vpns that allow you to watch international content anywhere on earth (I'm just saying).

Do you have any favorite looks for Koshiko and Nakata? Like photos where you particularly liked their fashion or styling?

So many examples that writing a response to this simple question nearly drove me insane for several days lmao. One of capsule's biggest "selling" points for me was that they mostly wore their own clothes for photoshoots, MVs, performances etc and Nakata largely handled styling and whatnot. (Also probably one of the reasons that Metro Pulse landed disastrously with me, I don't want to see polygonal character models fighting to the death, I want you two to serve looks 😭)

Where Toshiko's concerned, I usually loved her outfits at the annual festivals they'd do like Rock in Japan and Countdown:

2010 RIJ FES fit is legendary

I honestly feel like this houndstooth configuration that appeared at CDJ 2012 altered my brain chemistry in some way. I can see it being a bit too "circus" or costume-y for some, the bi-color tights are definitely going a little overboard, but I still think about it all these years later (take a closer look at the heels she wore too).

2014 Summer Sonic, I like to call this the angel look; there's a pattern here with me liking these dresses/skirts with strange construction lol

Big fan of the OTONOKO 2018 sparkly tulle dress (may be a top + skirt combo, either way). It was extremely whimsical, looked beautiful on a stage environment, and I love the idea of Toshiko as a pinch of the night sky placed down on earth. (I like it so much you can have another photo of it here)

At their last Countdown appearance in 2019 she wore this draped dress; the blunt lob haircut really elevated the maturity of the whole look (I think some low denier tights would've made this even crazier).

Thigh-high boots go brrr (starting to wonder if I just really liked this wig a lot)

Special mention to this sequin dress, she is nothing short of a genius for wearing those nylons with it and Nakata was wrong for saying she looked like a fish lmao

I do actually like her simpler stage outfits like this gold babydoll dress. Her headwear is unparalleled, I can't imagine how many hats/hair accessories she owns...

Lastly her WAVE RUNNER tour encore look was just cute and nicely coordinated for being so simple; I also adore the way their shoes matched here but I lose my mind whenever they match their outfits at all…

In general I love how consistent she is in her style, it's very elegant and feminine overall but she likes to do these unusual silhouettes and whimsical accessories that have a lot of drama to them. This is my favorite example of her fashion outside of performances; my list highlighted major appearances where you'd expect her to go full theatrical but even her regular day-to-day outfits are nice, often simple but never boring.

Moving along...

Generally speaking Nakata has a great eye for individual pieces rather than excelling at putting together well-coordinated outfits (on himself at least, I loved the times he styled Toshiko). He's also the living embodiment of the shorts-wearing NPC trainer in Pokemon lmao. Like he's definitely shown the potential to Dress over the years and I'd actually love to see him do styling work on other people again (also would love to see art direction from him again, design, etc etc anyway :^)), he has a very particular aesthetic sense that I always enjoyed, but overall he seems to prize comfort and especially after 2016 you can see his style get increasingly...utilitarian? Unembellished? Honestly there was a video I saw by some YouTuber who attempted to discuss Nakata's style and all they had to go off was his Instagram and their conclusion was "he likes to wear his own logo a lot;" it's an understatement to say that made me die a little inside, lol (not the tuber's fault of course).

I tried to pinpoint specific ~whole outfits but it's kind of difficult, as a result the majority of these are from magazine shoots:

2007 Sugarless GiRL for MARQUEE - I've been obsessed with this since forever but I'm not even sure how to explain it... It's a wintry, boyish sort of look, the overalls were very flattering, the shoes are cute, and that scarf was actually really interesting because it had these weird hand pockets (you can see them in this photo). I'd kill to see more takes from any of their magazine shoots but especially this one.

2005 LDK event covered in CUTiE magazine - I think everyone loves this one lmao, whoever did Nakata's hair is a god. It's a great inbetween style from LDK to FRUITS CLiPPER; it's very interesting the way he sort of found his fashion "voice" the same time he found his musical one for capsule.

Speaking of which, 2006 FRUITS CLiPPER artist profile shoot (well, this is from MARQUEE, but he wore the same thing for their artist pics) - the black-white-gray layered look might be my favorite example of his ~eye for coordinating clothes or whatever you wanna call it lol. Love that C necklace too, he only really wore it during '06 though and was never much for necklaces in general (I think it's funny one of the few remaining pics on his Insta is this one). Blazers are notoriously tricky to wear without seeming like you're stuffy and/or going to the office, he somehow always pulled them off really well...

2007 capsule rmx for MARQUEE - another that seems unanimously loved. I liked that headscarf he's wearing so much that I bought the same one (not a single clue how to style/pull it off though)

2007 FLASH BACK for MARQUEE - love the long zip-up jacket with the fur-trim hood, love those iconic yellow Belly Button boots (yes, that's really the brand name)

Getting away from MARQUEE, I just posted these but his outfit for S&R was actually kinda good? I do wanna beat him over the head for wearing shorts to meet Sakamoto Ryuichi but it's a cute look and I think he was smart to wear the brown frames instead of his black ones as they would've been too harsh. The detailing on the shirt and shorts goes perfectly, while I don't like high-top shoes on him in a broad sense these had cute contrasting laces and I like their suede look. More accessorizing with jewelry would've been great here but at that point (2012) he put away pretty much everything apart from the watches...

self vol. 1 (spring 2009) - this one doesn't go like super crazy or anything but I think it's cute and nicely put-together, here's another picture of it in better/natural lighting. Really like that T-shirt from FRAPBOIS

2013 CAPS LOCK - you could say this is pretty boring compared to the other examples here but I reeeally liked the weird keycap rings(?) and the not-insignificant heels on his oxfords lol. The fact that these are capris and not full-length pants also keeps it from being too stuffy and basic. (And once again wearing the same color for the top + bottom makes this sort of "seamless" look that in turn helps create an illusion of proportionality.)

2015 Downtown appearance - and now I'm going to throw all fashion rules about proportions/looking ~taller out the window because I loved this lmaooo, peak comfy outfit and makes me want to buy an oversized white hoodie so bad (I haven't said it yet but I think white might be his best color). Also I'm pretty sure his hair was professionally done here, it looked great.

Since I'm nuts I'm gonna keep blathering but now about specific pieces he's worn that I really liked (not a complete list by any means, just what comes to mind right now):

This baseball cap with the half of a stag rising out of it, he's f*cking crazy I swear to god (naturally he wore this because they shot these pics at Hanjiro which was a clothing store with a particular sense of décor)

Bomber jacket at ageHa last year, I love stuff like this with that sort of mirror-like sheen (it's kind of iridescent but not quite) and the cut/style of it was good

I think way too often about this reversible jacket he wore on a karaoke date with Kyary. Up to that point I'd just seen him wearing logos and boring all-black semi-athleisure stuff for years so this was a pretty crazy statement piece

Speaking of random pieces that live rent-free in my head, I really want to know the brand of this sweatshirt from the 2019 album announcement, it's sooo weird and just, like, interesting

The blazer for WAVE RUNNER was shockingly cute, no comment on the rest of the fit or the wonky Photoshopping though (god their artist photos are so hit-or-miss)

Honestly there's so much that I'm exhausted writing this list, I'm gonna stop with these pants and leave it at that

His style at its best is just kind of quirky, very very playful, obviously keeps to a grayscale palette but he has some surprisingly colorful pieces. His taste in jewelry was pretty awesome too, he had some interesting rings I was a big fan of but I'm too lazy to go find pics (there was a Hello Kitty one, a giant star, a cow's head...).

In conclusion I think they share a lot of similarities in their style and I would kill for either of them to have ever released a ~style book (sadly the timing for that has long passed and the demand was probably nonexistent in the first place). Some people also may be wondering why I completely ignored their looks from pre-2006/the future pop neo whatever era and the simple answer is...IDK, it's not that I hated their styling back then (well, it was pretty rough sometimes), it was just more costume-y and as a result sort of inauthentic in a sense. They were also frequently styled by other people during that time; their own personal style and/or Nakata's styling had a much greater impact on my teenaged brain as far as influencing my tastes. But Toshiko wore the '60s silhouette and boyish sort of hairstyles extremely well and the contemode hair/makeup girlie Miyagawa Tomoko always did a fantastic job.

10 (Mostly) Spoiler-Free Reasons to Watch Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon 2003 Live Action

A countdown to the 20th anniversary of Act 1 air date!

Speaking of the casting of UsaMamo, let's actually talk about the live-action cast!

Reason 7: The cast!

If you become a fan of the series, despite the show approaching its 20th anniversary and sadly not being greenlit for more than one season, your joy DOES NOT end there.

The love the Senshi cast have for the show and for each other is ABSOLUTELY legendary. If one dabs into Japanese entertainment news even for just a little bit, then it's pretty impossible for them to forget this show existed because it gets brought up yearly, especially because Rei's actress Kitagawa Keiko' is 's career took flight and became insanely famous in Japan's acting industry a few years after the live-action.

Without further ado, please see some other examples of their lovely ongoing love for the series, the overall franchise, and each other.

Cast Reunions/Gatherings

Senshi Reunion "戦士会" A well-known term coined for the live-action 5 Senshi gathering. As Ayaka said, it includes birthday parties, Bonenkai and Shinenkai, engagement parties, and more!

My record of their gatherings dates as far back as 2006, and that's NOT counting the times when any of these ladies meet up in pairs or smaller pods and post about them on their social media and then practically. yell into the writing that they want all five of them to meet up soon. lol For a more "structured" Senshi reunion, usually they manage to get at least four of them together, if not all 5, due to work scheduling clashes.

At Keiko (Mars)'s wedding ceremony, the Senshi cast also all sang the show's insert song Friend together. :')

The girls have so much fun together, they are also known for taking blurry photos because they laugh themselves silly. (Adorable!)

PGSM 10th Anniversary Cast & Crew Celebration (2014) *Logistics of the event organization and individual's work schedule delayed them from actually celebrating in 2013 October.

2016 Super Moon Sighting (Cast & Crew Gathering)

The Senshi-exclusive reunion (2015) The gang claimed all the news of the Senshi reunion was making them jealous and feel left out, so they chose to have their own gathering without the Senshi. For a while that led to a hilarious back and forth between them and the Senshi on Twitter about making it a regular thing and maybe they'll invite a Senshi one at a time for further gatherings. lol

Here is hoping we get a 20th anniversary celebration cast and crew gathering. If the 10th anniversary celebration was anything to go by, the event might not necessarily happen right on the dot of the anniversary. Still, if not the day-of, this weekend, or this coming weekend will still be a key period for live-action fans to monitor the casts social media and blog accounts for any celebratory posts!

Supporting each other's work

The Senshi cast, Naoki (Shingo), Akira (Kunzite), and Jouji (Mamoru) show support for each other's stageplay appearances across the years.

In 2018, "Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee died in Monday, November 12 at the age of 95, after a lifetime of creating iconic superheroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk and Black Panther.

The last superhero that the legendary comic writer unveiled not long before his death was named Jewel — a female superhero inspired by Chinese pop star Gloria Tang Tsz-kei, who goes by her stage name G.E.M.

The character Jewel is a successful recording artist on a world tour. She develops super powers following an incident involving her grandmother and a charm bracelet. Determined to keep her powers hidden, she is forced to lead a double life as a pop star and an undercover superhero who fights villains.

G.E.M., who was born in Shanghai and is based in Hong Kong, is often called the "Taylor Swift of Asia".

late to the game because timezones!! my beloathed!! but for when you wake up, another spot of feel-good holiday headcanon for you 💙💙 i seem to remember that you like carlando, so i'm going to make this piarles + carlando (but feel free to swap out carlos and lando for pretty much whatever other ship you want tbh) <333

SO. in this headcanon, all the drivers have a tradition of gathering on new year's eve for champagne and gossip/predictions for the next year. but the most important event of the entire night is The Midnight Kiss. at midnight, every driver has to kiss another - whoever they're closest to when the clock strikes 12. it's non-negotiable. everyone has to do it. so as you can imagine there have been some pretty insane and hilarious midnight kiss pairings over the years, and everyone laughs and jokes about them. the point isn't that the kiss is actually SERIOUS, u feel me - it's just a bit of fun, and some laughs and stories to tell throughout the year ("did you see his face!" etc.) it's light-hearted and just a bonding evening before the new year properly begins.

NOW. this year. charles has noticed that his teammate's pining has reached rather ridiculous levels, and he decides that enough is enough, he has to set carlos and lando up somehow. and he decides that the drivers' midnight kiss tradition would be the perfect place to do it. charles tells pierre about his plans (because, of course he does) and pierre laughs himself stupid, then agrees to help.

the evening begins. charles glues himself to his teammate, and pierre finds lando as the evening wears on. just before midnight, pierre and charles both manage to convince their half of carlando that it's Very Important to come over to a certain pre-agreed point in the hall. they time it perfectly - charles and carlos arrive just as pierre and lando do, and then piarles look at each other and run in the opposite direction as fast as they can. now carlos and lando are left right next to each other and 10 seconds left on the countdown, so they're going to have to kiss. which they do <3 now usually, the midnight kisses are just a quick peck, or not much longer than a couple of seconds (unless you're pierre, but i desist.) the point here is carlando: once they start kissing, they Do Not Stop lmao. carlos backs lando into the wall and they're really going at it, until eventually lewis has to delicately intervene like "boys... we're all very happy for you... but please take it somewhere else..." anyways yes piarles totally succeeded in Mission Carlando.

but. piarles. these fucking idiots - they planned perfectly to get carlando together, but they forgot that if they run away from carlando together, high-five each other giggling that they're geniuses, that means THEY will also be stuck next to each other with the countdown on 10 seconds. which means they will also have to kiss each other at midnight. hehe. IDIOTS. they both blush so red when they realise, but traditions are traditions, and so pierre leans in and kisses charles very lightly very quickly on the mouth as the clock strikes 12. (the shortest midnight kiss pierre gasly had ever given anyone.) charles can't help himself: he's like "is that all? what happened to you being a menace at midnight and kissing your partner for way longer than you were supposed to?" to which pierre asks, "did you want me to kiss you for longer than i was supposed to?" and charles blushes harder, but he's had some champagne, so maybe he nods, just a little, and pierre's eyes darken. he drags charles outside, and lays a proper one on him as the new year's fireworks explode around them <33333

anyways, that new year's party remains a legendary one forevermore lmao. two otps getting their shit together! everyone shipped them ofc so everyone is very happy for them (esteban even comes up to piarles and says drily, "finally, i was starting to think i would have to take matters into my own hands next year." lmao) so yes! all's well that ends well, even if they're all fucking idiots. sorry for the very long ask lmao but i hope you liked this 💙💙
