There is so much to unpack in this one image.

1. Aizawa looks like he’s been crying. Sure it could be dry eye but let’s be real he definitely was crying and looks so damn exhausted.

Edit: People have pointed out the ‘tears’ may be blood dripping from his head or blood from overdoing it with his quirk. This also makes sense. I know it’s also raining but it doesn’t really look like rain running down his face. I don’t think it’d be drawn so dark.

2. People are freaking out he lost a leg again. If you look closer his other leg is there, still coming through the portal.

3. Part of the portal is WHITE

4. We don’t see Mic because he hasn’t come through the portal yet and I have a feeling he’s also taking charge of staying by and protecting Shirakumo. Just as he’s been assigned to do since the beginning of the final war arc.

5. If Horikoshi doesn’t do a flashback and skips the Mic/Aizawa/Shirakumo subplot, I will be throwing hands.

‘What if Mic is dead???’

I ain’t gonna say he ain’t for some wild reason but—

Why would Hori emphasize the 3 dummies from the start? Why would we go from 3 dummies to 2 dummies to 3 dummies again for all of 5 seconds to 2 dummies all off screen? What is the point of ‘3 baka’ if they are never going to be 3 baka? Also Aizawa doesn’t seem to have a single scratch on him with the exception of what he probably got when they were fighting off the Twice clones. Plus how would Mic die? Suggesting Kurogiri/Shirakumo does after he just saved them from falling to their death? So I don’t feel like there was much in the way of a fight other than a mental one. If Aizawa was crying, my assumption is that trying to get Shirakumo to snap out of being Kurogiri was quite emotional for him and Mic considering the only time we’ve seen these two genuinely cry about something between mainline manga and Vigilantes is over Shirakumo.

Not saying that I’m right, but it just doesn’t make any sense to me that Mic would be dead. We see Aizawa in the last page, but no we don’t see Mic and we don’t see Shirakumo physically. It wouldn’t surprise me if Aizawa doesn’t want Shirakumo close enough to Shigaraki/AFO in the event of Kurogiri gaining back control and has Mic by Shirakumo’s side to protect him.

People brought up Mic being dead too because of the AFO line with something something people become stronger when they lose someone close to them. This has always been Aizawa’s entire story with Shirakumo.
