OnS Chapter 128

My mouse needing replacement I still haven't gotten (I still don't have the money for it at the moment) makes taking screenshots difficult and then tumblr making an annoying "twitter-fied" update made me lose motivation to read this chapter cause I like blogging what I read especially this series. I love this series too much to not yell it out in the void that is tumblr lol.

I used some extensions recommended by other users so that the tumblr layout would be the same as before so I'm sort of okay but I'm still sad the post boxes are a bit thinner than they used to be. I'm struggling a bit with the mouse but it's fine. So yeah, this is late lol

The aftermath of last chapter's tragic events.

Bael comes into the room and sees Paimon dead and angel Mikaela's corpse being cradled by the king. Bael wonders if Paimon killed himself because if he did, that is considered a sin by God which meant Paimon's soul probably would get punished (not sure if it's going to hell or anything cause Shika Madu cut him off before he could finish the sentence).

Bael tried to be supportive and tells Shika Madu this event is just another trial and things could still go well but Shika Madu is having none of it.

Shika Madu just feels tired, helpless, and terrible and he doesn't want to accept the current situation. Their goal has always been to go back to Paradise where God is but Shika Madu is now questioning that goal as the road to it is filled with nothing but pain.

And he just had to find out at that moment that even Bael is sick. bael apologizes cause he knows he won't be around for long enough to help his king.

Bael still tries to be encouraging and tells his king to keep moving forward to Paradise, even if he'd end up going alone. Shika Madu is frustrated at the unfairness of it all.

And Bael tells him he'd be staying behind with Paimon. He also explains that unlike Paimon, he had no expectations. He's not doing all this because he wants the King to fulfil some kind of goal nor did he want to go to Pradise and see God. When Shika Madu asked what Bael wanted, Bael looks at the dead Paimon and answers that whatever it was, he'd no longer be able to get it now. So now all Bael could do is whatever would be asked of him and if Shika Madu wants to start a resistance, he'd be of help if told to.

Bael then takes Paimon's corpse with him and leaves Shika Madu with angel Mikaela's corpse. Now alone (well, technically he can't see Yuu-chan and Mika there), he is left to conteplate on what he should do next and all he knows is that he's at a loss.

Next we see of Shika Madu, he's at a graveyard. Bael had also killed himself so he would be with Paimon in death. Even their graves are shown to be right next to one another's which is pretty sweet considering how close they were.

Their long time goal has finally been met but Shika Madu wonders what the point is now that they've lost so many people in the way. After asking that question, Amon looks to his side and we are shown Belial's grave.

Astaroth answers that there's a reason: to be the first to get to Paradise for the sake of everyone that have passed away. Shika Madu agrees and tells everyone to get ready and tell the others that they'd finally leave the next day.

Shika Madu researches and we get a bit of explanation: the light they've been collecting all this time is power that God had created and it's what they needed to return home. It could also make miracles happen but the angels can't use it this way and if they did anything taboo, they get punished and the worst sins all involve life and death.

But he found some kind of loophole via doing experiments - one of which is how angel Mikaela was created.

He places angel Mikaela in a coffin and asks God if this was his punishment.

God gave him no answer so he just thought of one on his own: commit more taboos using the light they were able to collect. He'd first resurrect angel Mikaela then everyone else as he refused to leave anyone behind.

Homonculus Yuu is okay! And he's got his orders to convert all the light they collected within Babel into darkness. As homonculus Yuu does his job, Shika Madu waits for anything at all to happen whether he be punished or something stops them but nothing does.

And then they appear. It also seems they might have destroyed homonculus Yuu.

Okay... I guess we're finally getting to the scene where Shika Madu gets punished and the appearance of the seraphs. I feel bad for him cause yeah, what happened isn't fair. He and the rest have succeeded in getting the power they needed for their goal but they lost so many important people along the way.

Um... can't really tell me not to ship Bael/Paimon after this chapter lol. I wonder what it was that Bael wanted had Paimon not died? Bael is pretty contradictory in a way, I think as he's telling Shika Madu he'd support whatever the latter wants to do while trying to convince him to go through with going to paradise as it was what they (especially Paimon) would've wanted) but then dying after. Bael's death though helped in making Shika Madu find his own choice more acceptable though as Bael's death just added to the pile of people Shika Madu lost.

Shika Madu has proven he cares about his comrades and the rest of his subjects as he's willing to push the limit of what he's allowed to do but he doesn't seem to feel the same way about their current incarnations. My guess back then and even now is that they probably aren't completely the same as what they're used to be and so he doesn't consider them the same person. It's the same with his son Mikaela. If just reviving Mikaela was the goal then he'd have already succeeded as Mika is alive (well, he's currently a demon but still). But he still wants to revive the real angel Mikaela - the one with the memories and the person he spent his time with as family. It's not perfect unless they're the exact same people he's lost.

One of the themes of this entire series from the start is "family". Yuu had to learn and accept he had one in the Hyakuya orphans after his traumatic experience with his real parents and later he had to learn to accept the rest of the Shinoa squad as his new family after he lost the other orphans. Guren also lost his friends who were as important as family to him. Ashera wanted to get reunited with his sister and later, said sister wants to see him again when they got separated. Now they reveal Shika Madu losing what's basically his entire family is what started all this.

This manga felt like a roller coaster and so many things happened and not gonna lie, I'm still not sure the author knows exactly where all this is going but he seems adamant that this story will be about family. I think that's amazing lol.

I have already started reading the chapter after this one but I'd make a post maybe tomorrow hehe. I wish I could do a 2-in-1 but these chapters needed a bunch of screenshots taken. So much lore...

Have you heard about the new Apothecary of Night Raven College? They said that the Apothecary, Claudine is kinda apethetic.

Claudine grew up with the belief that he had to stay away from any incoming troubles, attempting really hard to distance himself from the lively chaotic atmosphere of Night Raven College. He only put his hands in when 'the troubles' implied him too, which happens quite a lot.

Actually, when the students met him, he was known for being very kind and.. clumsy.

Due to this clumsiness, the guy often messes up the potions that he gives to his patients, for instance: Mixing a pain-reducing potion as another one that upgrading their pains. Some said this may be a facade, for they once volunteered as Claudine's test subjects and it went.. good suprisingly.

Accepting the invitation, Claudine tries really hard not to sound judgemental. And falls amazingly. He couldn't really not to say his mind out, even if that hurts people in the process.

As a result of this, Claudine was presented as some old hag who kept scolding them despise making the same mistake. A man who's obssessed on some ordinary herbs.

He isn't, really. Yet he couldn't convey that out.

He just want to learn everything about herbs and potions, helping the in-need. The Apothecary tends to suprise everyone with his medical knowledges, one can even say that he's a Medi-Witch!

Although he can't understant the affections lovers gave to eachothers, but it's fine. He won't say that outloud, never will.

To his father, it was not being able to differ human faces normally.

To him, it was not being able to distinguish human emotions.

They run away from their parents with Clementine(Mikaela's farmer) in their story but they are free to gallivant about with other farmers if I want them to JXJEJF They don't know anything about anything bc they were sheltered and neglected they're truly trying their best also their bachelor is sebastian

And then there is Amadeus ^_^ he is even less of a farmer he's just a stuck up priss of a witch who travels and causes mischief and hexes and curses people whenever he doesn't get his way bc he is childish. He gets stuck in pelican bc he causes umm...a bit of a ruckus(read: blows a fucking hole in the saloon) and Rasmodius strips him of his witch powers until he can learn to be niceys. In the meantime he is trapped on the farm to pay his debt off and also everyone hates him and the farmer(sometimes Clementine sometimes another friends' character) is the only one who can stand to put up with him

In the meantime he tries to take up potion making and astromancy since that magic isn't totally reliant on the user to rub it in rasmodius' face that he will NOT. HAS NOT. NEVER WILL win(he has. Deus sucks)

Flight Rising AU

Flight rising au time for the girls! Left: Haddie Kaur is an imperial who's parents where victim to the tragic unpredictable life span of being an imperial. Their lives unfortunately being cut short passing away close to each other one winter evening clutching a young haddie between them as a very violent ice storm raged outside their cave. Haddie knew as the warmth left them what was happening she went into hysterics roaring and crying begging them to wake up. She could do nothing but roar as her cries where drowned out by the storm she eventually went hoarse and laid in the far corner of the cave knowing she didn't have the strength or know how to navigate such a storm. It's imperative that imperials are separated when they die unless they are burned or disposed of properly. For fear they would become an emperor. Haddie's pleas where answered in the worse way possible as a young Haddie did not quiet understand the importance of separating corpses. She awoke to the lumbering stumbling form of her father in glee she approached him relived it was a nightmare after all. Only be faced with a horrific display as he turned with her mothers body being absorbed into his her neck partially attached already.

Something that no one sees well sees and lives to tell. Her once loving parents stumbled and claws trying to get themselves together to attack their precious daughter. Let's say by the miracles of the gods and haddies unawaken power she managed to stop and defeat them before they became a full fledged emperor. Since then she has been drown to dark rotten places and is a traveling around defeating and curing shade touched places but as she uses her power more and more her once vibrant coat has begun to fade. Haddie has no clue what will happen once its fully turned. Right: Mikaela Reid has a much happier story living with her father at the edge of the sea she uses her powers and knack for divinity to read the futures of other dragons and beast races who pass through the port. Reid is a very talented magic user and can use multiple elemental spells its a very rare thing for a dragon to be able to do that but not wanting to leave her father or the port town she does not seek an education at the observatory and other places of magic. She creates luck charms etc to sell and get money for her father who creates and designs small ships. Though sadly her father illness catches up to him and despite outside medical care he passes peacefully. She continues to stay in the town but odd creatures begin attacking boats and dragons near by and a disease begins driving the coral and wild life away as unknown to the dragons of the port town shade has begun infecting the waters and...this is how they meet Haddie stops the shade with Mikaela's help and they travel together from then solving shade issues and disputes between beast clans and dragons clans. I will say the size diffrence....look at how large haddie is to a small mikaela xD

I juggeled several breeds and colors for them but im pretty happy with the colors and genes for them <3 (I might try and find a better set for haddie at one point........but im 80% good with it)

BODY MODIFICATION AND PORN CHIC

Body modification has become a popular trend on social media platforms, its not only individuals sharing their tattoos and piercing to share self-identity but its also plastic surgery and procedures that alter ones body shape. Microcelebrities and influencers that are not disclosing body modification on their social media pages are setting up women to think they have to achieve these unattainable beauty standards. 

Tiktoker and OnlyFans creator Mikaela Testa is a common example of influencers being transparent about their cosmetic procedures. She has admitted to fillers and botox in her face and how she dissolved them once she felt more comfortable with herself. However, she has frequently backtracked on body modification surgeries like the Brazilian butt lift which has angered her followers and made them lose trust in her simply because she won't be transparent (Prajwal 2022). This has led lots of young women to self-esteem issues, thinking that they naturally have to have the curves of Mikaela Testa when it's just not naturally possible.

Drenten et al. (2018) discusses how Instagram has become a significant space for influencers to engage in sexualised self-presentation in order to gain fame and monetise their online presence. They argue that this phenomenon is influenced by the pornographic aesthetic prevalent in contemporary culture, often referred to as "porn chic". By objectifying one's sexualised self, through poses and highlighting certain body parts such as the lips or breasts, this helps gain the attention of users which leads to a higher following or more clicks, and thus profitable commercial success. Social media users, particularly on Instagram are unknowingly engaging in unpaid labour and engaging in personal marketing to help influencers develop their brand and compete visibility which is synonymous with obtaining status and influence (Marwick 2013).

Dorfman et al.'s study into plastic surgery-related hashtags on Instagram found that a more than 1million posts used 21 different hashtags related to plastic surgery. This shows that not only are there influencer and microcelebrities out there not disclosing their cosmetic procedures, there are plenty more other people that are showing off what they have had done, normalising modifying one's body for vanity.
