Hello Void!
Im literally almost crying.
I finally found all the episodes of Wonder Pets.
It was on YouTube.
And I’ll have to pay 44.97 for all seasons but I don’t care.
I found it.
I grew up on this show, this is a pillar of my childhood.
After I stopped watching I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I finally found it.

Have you seen this childhood show: Wonder Pets! (2006-2018), United States (English)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commentary/Context/Memories: No user commentary.
[Mod A: This show was about classroom pets who aim to save other animals from dangerous situations that occur outside the classroom (during the night-time/weekends that school is not in session) via their FlyBoat. The pets names were Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Turtle Tuck. This show used an innovative animation style called "photo-puppetry" which uses photos of real animals and moves them using Adobe After Effects. The image of Tuck was from Jennifer Oxley (the show creator)’s own pet turtle (a red-eared slider)! I never knew that this show was done in an operetta style (the dialogue is sung this way) and had an original 10-member orchestra music to keep the pace. My parents were big on opera/operetta music (grew up listening to a lot of operas while doing chores as a kid) so if this show came out when I was younger, I would’ve really loved it for the familiar, nostalgic music alone (the live-action images of the animals are a bonus)!]

T, 12k, WQ-centric, Wangxian
Summary: Wen Qing, now known as Lan Ming, is a stoic child but never sulky. She's praised for her obedience and intelligence that far exceeds any of her peers. She's diligent and can already speak in full, clear sentences. Her mother—a distant cousin of Hanguang Jun himself—finds her own child eerie. When she falls, and red bleeds through the knees of her white robes, she doesn't cry. She simply stands and brushes herself off, then walks purposefully to the clinic. Lan Ming—or as she will always refer to herself, Wen Qing—will correct the healers as they gently cleanse her wound, as there is a much more effective disinfectant they can use. Reincarnated as a Lan, Wen Qing lives as best she can with the knowledge—and pain—of her past life. The balance she finds is disrupted when an unfamiliar face hides a not-so-unfamiliar heart.
Mojo's comments: Oh, what a fabulous premise, and so very well done. All WQ's POV, from the moments after her brutal death to her rebirth. She grows up a strange, remote child… because she remembers everything, and can only grieve what she's lost. But gradually she finds a place, making friends with her cousin (now older than her!) and becoming one of Hanguang Jun's ducklings. I could read, like, 30k more of this. I just love the concept so much!
Kay's comments: Absolutely adored this story of Wen Qing being reborn into the Lan Sect while keeping her memories! Even as an infant she is aware who she is and hates it. She is a weird child, that's for sure! Which keeps getting her compared to Hanguang-Jun! And I love how she deals with the fact that she has a mother now and a new identity, while she continues to be Wen Qing to herself and now she's living amongst the people who killed her family. It's heart-wrenching and I live for it.
Excerpt: Wen Qing is aware of the effect she has on people. She knows she should play-act as a child and take advantage of another chance at childhood. She was never a good actor, and especially not now that she doesn't want to. Wen Qing wants to continue being Wen Qing. Solemn as she is, she is never punished for it. In fact, she's praised for being such a good role model for her peers, who still drool and cry and whine. No wonder Wei Wuxian's boytoy—her cousin, now—is such a stick in the mud. Soon, she's compared to the boytoy himself. "Have you ever seen a child as well behaved since Hanguang Jun? Ming is following in his footsteps, it must be the name," her grandmother says, sipping at her tea.

can i pls get the story behind your oc
Of course,of course!
Pre Jttw:
Well for starters Mings story of course starts with his birth, he and his brother Bai were both born from flowers(Ming was born from white lillies specifically) and their first few years were spent raised by an elderly couple.
The husband was a doctor which was convenient because Mings immune system is as reliable as burning garbage and he's a literal wild child that will square up to anything that looks like he could potentially bite it's ear off, needless to say the old man started to not only treat him but also give him a crash course on medicine as soon as possible in hopes of keeping the boy from having an early meeting with King Yama.
Sadly what little home and family they had didn't last long, due to circumstances they end up pretty much homeless, travelling through the lands having to survive on their own from a pretty young age. There are the occasional nice people that let them stay a few nights but they end up leaving eventually.
During Jttw:
After a few years of living like this, getting into all kinds of mischief and misadventures, this is where they meet the monk, it was probably pretty early in the journey before he even met his disciples. After a nasty demon attack Tang sanzang was left wounded but since luck is always on his side he was found and rescued by a certain pair of brothers who just left the house they were staying in and were just as quick to return with a bleeding monk in tow-
They spent a few more days there looking after him until eventually his attendance came to collect him and continue his journey. Now that probably should have been where they parted ways but Ming being a very committed (self proclaimed) doctor doesn't think Tang sanzang is healed enough to be out of his care, so like a normal person he decides to just follow them like a duckling following their mama-. Did Bai think this was a bad idea? Yes. Did he discourage it? No, absolutely not because they are two kids utterly supportive of each others dumb ideas.
So after the monk became a proud single parent of two the journey carries on and even with his disciples and new horse to aid him, his wounds fully healed , there literally being not a single reason for them to stick around- these kids are in too deep and stay regardless.
Not really story related but since all the pilgrims were an allegory of the human mind I think Ming would be associated with emotions, specifically emotions that were allowed to always be shown at full force. His character is very expressive and fast paced, he wears his heart on his sleeve with high empathy and emotionally intelligent. But of course to much of anything is never good causing him to be very impulsive to a dangerous degree and his energy can be very overwhelming to most.
Sadly his journey doesn't end on a happy note, infact he never makes it to the end, dying of illness several years into the trip. He is buried and given a grave near his old home.
During Lmk:
Ooooh boy- now here's the thing though, Mings ghost didn't want to move on, he didn't want to get reincarnated alone so he decided to break out of the underworld and just wait at his grave, like surely they will visit his grave eventually right? Surely his brother will visit right?
...right?
Well yes but actually no- he's just stuck there, waiting for who knows how long with his only entertainment being watching his own grave rot and slowly get overgrown by nature. Left alone with his thoughts that increasingly go through worst and worst scenarios of what might be going on for weeks,months...maybe even years. He doesn't know he stopped counting the days a long time ago.
And then one day he just sees Sun wukong, someone he viewed as his brother running around most definitely not there to visit him with...well at first he thought it were the other pilgrim's but then he noticed the difference more than the similarities between them, along side someone that reminded him an awful lot of himself and even his brother. (More oc's I have-) further more their vastly different clothing, the device's they carried it made him realize he had been here for a very long time.
He really didn't know what he felt in that moment. Rage? Betrayal? Maybe even just sadness. He can't even recall what he did, other than scream and cry a lot the rest is just black and blurry with any noise getting drowned out by his own voice or just generally sounding muffled.
He eventually snapped out of it, even if it took others fighting him to do so. He realized had lashed out at the group, he didn't feel guilty for trying to attack wukong, he did feel guilty about attacking people who's only crime was that they resembled the people he knew.
Just like that Ming went from wishing someone would come to wanting to be utterly alone again. So he ran away.
Of course, a child left in a vulnerable state is also easy to take advantage of...

Lmao, attended my first SCA meeting last night, it was super fun! Everyone is really nice, and it was nice seeing my D&D aquantence there.
I am, however, realizing I am going to once more be the odd duckling out when it comes to special interests/clothing choice bc everyone's basically vikings era europe and surrounding areas, and I'm sitting here like :D Qin-Ming dynasties clothing go brrr :D
They said *anywhere in the world* and my brain said Bet lmao On the plus side, someone a few hours away does Song Dynasty China, so I won't be alone in choosing China!

Here's an updated sort-of Ref for Zhou Jian! (they/he/she) This is a more 'humanoid' form (i'm working on a form that is larger and more scary? idk)
Jian is a carp that jumped over the Dragons Gate and became a dragon. They were found by Azure Lion and some celestial guards while on a mission about a year after. Azure took them in and taught them everything. He originally wanted to pass them to another dragon, but got attached. Jian saw him as an older brother and followed him around like a duckling. Jian fully agreed with the brotherhoods intent, but upon them turning on Wukong, they left. They went back to the original river, finding gifts and offerings for them from the villagers. Macaque is the only one of the Brotherhood that stays in touch. Jian gifts them a signet ring as a promise to stay in touch and stay sworn brothers.
Soon they meet their soon to be sworn sister Zhou Ming-Zhu (Jian takes their last name?) another dragon, related to the dragon of pearl river. Soon DBK gets back in touch through Macaque, and Jian is asked to help look after Redson (their a water dragon? so they think that they can help with the S.Fire) They soon take up full time residence with DBK and PIF, and helps look after Redson when they are busy. Redson refers to them as uncle!
They are still close to Macaque so they have 'tea' parties (Jian doesn't like tea). Soon they get worried though as they haven't seen him in weeks, so they take a trip to flower fruit mountain. they are one of the few witnesses for Macaques death. They are the one to bury his body, and the first to tell others the news.
This is as far as im going up to in this post! i may post some fake screenshots at some point? i also have a peice of art that ive done that i'll upload later!!
I updated their story a bit! It allows for them to to be less 'soft' and more fleshed out!

Edward Helps Out
A/N: Didn't feel like making a title card for this, sorry!
A little while after Mr. Conductor told Matt about Thomas, he told him a story about another really useful blue engine: Edward.
One day, Edward was in the shed-house where he lived with the other engines. They were all bigger than Edward and boasted about it.
"The driver won't choose you again," said Gordon. "He wants strong engines like us." But the driver and fireman felt sorry for Edward.
"Would you like to come out today?" asked Edwards driver. "Oh yes, please." said Edward. Edward took off his polo-shirt, so they could open a valve in his chest to light the fire. Edward made lots of steam and skated away.
The other engines were very cross at being left behind. Edward worked hard all day. The jewelpets thought he was very kind and the driver was very pleased.
"I'm going out again tomorrow," Edward told the other engines that night, while reading Pride and Prejudice. "What do you think about that?"
But he didn't hear what they thought, for he was so tired and happy that he fell asleep right away on the couch, in his cozy blue pyjamas.
The next morning, Edward woke up to find nothing had changed. Gordon was still boasting. Stan, Kenny, Eric and Kyle from South Park were watching them (IDK WHY THEY'RE IN THIS OMG).
Kenny: Mmmmhhhhmm.
Stan: Yeah Kenny you're right, the big blue robot guy with the cross is being egotistical!
Eric: Really guys? C'mahn dis guy gets me.
Kyle: Shut up Cartman.
"You watch me, little Edward, as I rush through with the express. That will be a splendid night for you. Goodbye, little Edward. Look out for me this afternoon."
Edward went out to jump rope with the freight car boys. He liked jumping rope. It was fun playing with them. One car held one end of the rope, and the other car held the other end so Edward could hop over.
"Oh!" they cried. "Whatever is happening?"
Edward played until the freight cars were worn out. Then he stopped to rest. Presently, he heard a whistle. Gordon was very cross. Instead of pulling shiny new coaches, he was pulling a very dirty freight train.
"A goods train, a goods train, a goods train!" he grumbled. "The shame of it, the shame of it, oh, the shame of it!"
Stan: Sucks to be you I guess.
Edward laughed and went to find some more freight cars. Then, there was trouble.
"Gordon can't get up the hill," Linny the guinea pig, Tuck the turtle, and Ming-Ming the duckling called to Edward's driver. They were the wonder pets, and they were here to save the day! "Will you take Edward and push him please?"
They found Gordon halfway-up, and very cross. His driver and fireman were talking to him severely.
"You're not trying."
"I can't do it!" said Gordon. "The noisy freight cars are breaking my back!"
Edward's driver came up. "We've come to push."
"No use at all!" said Gordon.
"You wait and see," replied Edward's driver. They brought the train back to the bottom of the hill.
"I'm ready." said Edward.
"No good." grumbled Gordon. They pulled and pushed as hard as they could. "I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it!" puffed Gordon.
"I will do it, I will do it, I will do it!" puffed Edward. Edward pushed and puffed and puffed and pushed as hard as he ever could. And almost before he realized it, Gordon found himself at the top of the hill.
"I've done it, I've done it, I've done it!" Gordon said proudly. He forgot all about kind Edward and didn't say thank you. Edward was left out of breath and far behind, but he was happy because he had been so helpful. At the next station, he found that the driver and fireman were very pleased with him. The fireman gave him a nice long drink and the driver said . . .
"I'll give you a beautiful new polo shirt and shorts. Then you'll be the smartest engine in the shed."
