Let Danny’s Parents Be Criminals

I hate the reveal gone wrong trope in the dpxdc fandom because we know Jack and Maddie end up supporting Danny and Dani in the end. His parents have some major flaws but wanting to torture their actual child isn’t one. What they are guilty of is going way too hard on any plan they cook up without thinking of the consequences.

If I were writing a dpxdc fic and I wanted Danny in adoptable status I’d just have Jack and Maddie in jail on charges of domestic terrorism after they killed off GIW agents and destroyed the GIW’s bases. They realized their ghost kids were in potential danger and went at the government the same way they went at ghosts, guns blazing and with reckless driving.

They end up in federal prison and they Vlad wins custody cause he’s rich and there is your runaway Danny plot starter.

(one of my self assigned projects for this semester was to make a series of alternate reality magazine covers. i figured a slasher version of sp/orts illustrated would go over well, haha. made two versions cause i liked both poses too much)

i'm not an amputee so absolutely tell me to stay in my lane if applicable, but it seems to me that there's something really unique about the way that black sails handles silver's disability and the narrative role of his prosthetic. as in, it's one of the only shows i've seen (although i'm sure there are more out there) where 1) a character's mobility is more impaired when using a prosthetic, and 2) where using a prosthetic is explicitly portrayed as an effort to appear more able-bodied to others in a way that's harmful to the amputee character: silver insists on wearing the leg in front of the men to the point of giving himself an infection and limiting his mobility in a fight because he's worried about maintaining his authority. while he doesn't choose to stop wearing it, i think it's telling that he also doesn't try to have a replacement made after he loses it or otherwise seem bothered by being seen using his crutch after he establishes the myth of long john silver by crushing dufresne's skull with his metal leg for mocking him as "half a man," symbolically tying the myth to his disability

Honeyfoot had always been instant he wasn’t the child-caring sort… but fate had other plans, so it seemed. Still, Phloxkit had an insatiable appetite, and with the plains of NettleClan’s territory burned away as they were, hunting on familiar territory was near fruitless.

Still, she was fed, even if he could feel his stomach rumbling.

He’d gone back to the clan’s home, of course- more in hope than expectation. It had all been ash, save for the remains of his clanmates.

He left them where they were, hoping the smoke had gotten them, rather than the heat and roaring terror.

Phloxkit could learn the truth when she was older. Perhaps they could reclaim this old camp, once prey had returned to the area, and the autumn and winter had passed.

They set out days later, a series of temporary nests in the grass serving as their homes. Phlox’s little legs got tired… often, but it was forgiven especially when a stand of stones, strewn about with saplings, was found by the pair; found and found to be uninhabited, even better. The ground was warm, and the tiredness of the last few days caught up with them…

Honeyfoot didn’t even complain with Phloxkit snuggled up against his belly, pronouncing his fur most comfortable. Idly he wondered how she was avoiding overheating like this.

Trying a different format today, where I put the text on the images instead of going purely for prose … please let me know which you prefer! Or maybe if you’d want text on images only?

He has PPMS and uses an intermittent catheter! There is way too much stigma (from both disabled and non-disabled people) about incontinence, catheters, and bladder issues. It’s not “gross”. The only “gross” thing is being judgmental of disabled people for something they cannot control and keeps them alive.

did a lil concept series for my illustration classes.

compy is a ….computer? or something inhabiting the computer? that our main character picks up from a thrift shop at a cheap price. MC treats compy well, and in return compy wants to make his owner’s life a bit easier.

the way that compy chooses to aid his owner quickly escalates (aka i was limited to four pages for my project and had to escalate that situation real fast), and the MC is at a loss at how to get him to stop.

each comic page is technically a chapter. the first illustration is "chapter 1" and the last illustration is "chapter 20," where compy achieves godhood to reform the world for his owner.
