MHA Chapter 418 spoilers translations

This week’s initial tentative super rough/literal translations under the cut.

❣ Who is your favorite Kpop group?❣

Bts and Stray Kids! There's several groups that I love, but these two hold a very special place in my heart💜

❣ Which member sparked your interest first?

I don't quite remember for Bts, but I'm pretty sure it was Namjoon. I was really drawn to his general style and aesthetic, as well as his solo work like Mono.

For Skz, it was Hyunjin, bc gifs of him kept popping up in my recommendations after the 'Oh' mv was released and I got curious and checked them out. So it's basically his fault for bringing me into this fandom, lol!

❣ Who was your first bias?

Yoongi and Chan

❣ Who is your current bias?

Yoongi and Chan(lol)

❣ What makes them your bias?

For Yoongi, he's the grandpa to my grandma energy, lol! Fr tho, I think it's bc he's so genuinely himself?? Like I love his dry humor, his writing style, his awkward tsundere energy, despite having such a soft heart🥺. Like, I will never understand how people think he's cold or indifferent, he's such a kind, loving person. I really admire his drive and passion for music, he's one of the people who inspired me to take back up writing. Idk, it's just everything.

For Chan, he's just super sweet and funny, and he clearly cares so much for everyone around him, from his group members to their crew/staff to the fans. He's also just soo relatable, and I really admire his dynamic with the fans, he feels like a best friend. I also really appreciate his honesty on tougher topics like self love and mental health. He's brought me so much comfort on tough days and makes me want to be a better person. Again, Idk, he's just Chris💜

❣ Who is your bias wrecker?

Literally EVERY OTHER MEMBER of both groups, lol! Like it's impossible not to love all of them!

❣ Which member(s) are you currently obsessing over that aren't your bias/bias wrecker?

For Skz, Minho(I blame @bethanysnow for helping fuel this lol) and a bit Han(the new curly hairstyle and the song covers he keeps posting on insta feel like a direct attack on me I swear)

❣ When did you first discover this group?

I'd been vaguely familiar with Bts for a few years, but it wasn't until my sister sent me some of their mvs back in 2020 that I started actively listening to their music.

For Skz, it was the summer of 2021, just after the 'Oh' mv was released, like I mentioned above.

❣ Have you ever been to one of their concerts?

No, but a girl can dream

❣ What are some of your favorite songs by the group?

Los nombres de los Cinco Furiosos

Tras la película de Kung Fu Panda 4 me dio por pensar como sería las primeras conversaciones de Zhen con los Cinco Furiosos. Me la imaginé nerviosa por causar una buena impresión pero encajando bastante bien con la dinámica del grupo dada a su actitud pícara y disfrutando junto a ellos de sus aventuras estableciéndose una relación de confianza. Lo que me llevo a un pensamiento ''¿ Ella al querer conocerles más les preguntaría cuales son sus auténticos nombres?'' .

Esta teoría lleva años rulando en el fandom pues se dice que sus nombres en realidad se refieren a sus estilos de lucha o a su especie ( así como al Maestro Buey, Cocodrilo o Rhino) pues los que conservan dentro de esta disciplina su nombre propio son aquellos que tienen un rol superior como Oogway, Shifu o Po y los que no tienen un titulo como Zhen o Tai Lung.

Bien, pues decidí que les buscaría un nombre adecuado para cada uno, que encajase con su físico o su personalidad, fáciles de recordar y que fuesen distinguibles entre ellos ¡let's go!

Mantis: Xun Yu ( veloz jade )

Con Mantis tuve claro que no quería buscar nada que tuviese que ver con su tamaño pero si quería destacar sus habilidades más potentes como su velocidad. De ahí surge su primer nombre, Xun . Su segundo nombre, Yu (Jade), es por su color verde aunque este puede significar también ''insecto'' dependiendo del kanji con el que se escriba. Mi idea es que Mantis se autodenomine como ''el rayo verde'' haciendo referencia a su nombre real.

Grulla: Zimo ( tinta refinada )

En un comienzo quise que su nombre estuviese relacionado con el cielo o el aire dada a su especie aviar o a sus técnicas pero me hizo pensar que una de las cosas que más me llama la atención de este personaje es su interés por la caligrafía china. Por ello, me decante por nombrarle Zimo (tinta o escritura) para reflejar su amada afición en su nombre.

Mono: Wong Sang ( morera amarilla )

Para Mono investigue sobre su actor de doblaje, el mismísimo Jackie Chan, cuyo nombre de nacimiento es Chan Kong-Sang. Quise tomarlo como referencia cambiando el nombre de Kong pues es el nombre del hermano de mono por Wong (amarillo) relacionándolo al color de su pelaje. Quería hacer una referencia a su faceta cómica pero me no encontré ningún nombre adecuado a las pautas que había asignado.

Víbora: Jia Ling ( bello cascabel )

Al igual que con mono, investigue sobre su actriz de doblaje, Lucy Liu, cuyo nombre completo es Lucy Alexis Liu Yu Ling. Quería reflejar su personalidad encantadora y dulce por lo que tome de referencia el nombre de Ling (tintineo) por el siseo que esta produce al ser una serpiente además de por su actitud alegre. Pero su primer nombre sería Jia para enfatizar la belleza de este personaje.

Tigresa: Xia ( amanecer )

Para ella pensé en profundizar más sobre su historia y su desarrollo como personaje para así darle el nombre adecuado. Esta es su historia:

Cuando Tigresa vivía en el orfanato recibió el nombre de Xian por parte de los demás niños ya que este significa "aquella que vive en reclusión" perpetuando su desprecio y miedo hacia a ella. Cuando Shifu finalmente decidió adoptarla, tras haber escuchado muchas veces ese nombre casi siempre acompañado de la palabra "monstruo", le pregunto que nombre nuevo deseaba para ella. Esta aceptaba simplemente el de Tigresa pues no creía que pudiese merecerse un nombre. Shifu reflexionó y decidió ponerle el nombre de Xia. Tigresa al principio le disgusto esta idea pues sonoramente era parecido al anterior pero Shifu le explico su elección. Ambos nombres aunque parecidos no poseían mismo significado pues ahora ella ya no estará más en la oscuridad recluida y sola sino que tenia la oportunidad de una nueva vida, un camino marcado por la luz desprendía de ella, un nuevo amanecer.

Así que sí, Zhen preguntaría sus nombres a los cinco furiosos dándose la situación de que Po se entere en ese mismo instante. Todos excepto Tigresa responderían a esta pregunta ya que para ella sigue siendo un tema muy personal relacionado con su pasado y con Shifu y aún no se siente cómoda como para compartirlo con todos ¿puede que sí pueda con cierto panda?

Ok, I gotta do it. Here is a list of BLs that imo are painfully underrated because they are not your classic BL. I enjoyed them way too much for them to be so underrated. It's a crime actually:

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul

Dr. Prakan is a well-known surgeon dedicated to saving people’s lives. However, while he is trying to save lives he is constantly visited by the last person he could ever want to see. Death will show up every day trying to take the souls of the people that the doctor is trying to save. They work for completely opposing sides. One must collect the souls of the dead, the other must save lives before they reach that state. Is it possible to fall in love with the one thing you try to avoid, and how can the love story between death and a Doctor last?

(TW: lots of hospital-typical dying and accidents)

The Pornographer (watch order: 1. The Novelist, 2. Mood Indigo, 3. Pornographer - Spring Life, 4. The Novelist: Playback, 5. Pornographer: Continued Spring Life)

Kuzumi Haruhiko is a university student. One day, he causes a bicycle accident. The accident causes novelist Kijima Rio to break his arm. Kuzumi doesn't have insurance or money to pay Kijima for his injury. Kijima then asks Kuzumi to transcribe a story he is writing. Kuzumi is surprised to learn the story is obscene.

Innocent (watch order: 1. Innocent Special, 2. Innocent, 3. (Not That) Innocent)

As a child, Zheng Yu Shi was involved in an accident so traumatic that it led to his development of a second identity. Going by the name of Noah, this second identity has grown up with Yu Shi. Quiet and very reserved with his emotions, Noah has spent years as Yu Shi’s vigilant protector. Living with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Yu Shi is used to having Noah around to take care of him. But when he meets Wu Zheng, things between Noah and Yu Shi begin to change. Aware of Yu Shi’s growing feelings for Wu Zheng, Noah takes over, using his distrust of Wu Zheng as an excuse to keep the two apart. Despite his best efforts, Noah can’t keep Yu Shi and Wu Zheng apart forever. As the relationship between Wu Zheng and Yu Shi grows, Yu Shi begins to realize that his faith in the world is slowly starting to be restored. Eien no Kinou (Eternal Yesterday)

Koichi is cheerful and popular in the class. Mitsuru is talented and not good at socializing. The two high school students are strongly attracted to each other due to their opposite personalities. However, one morning, Koichi is hit by a truck in front of Mitsuru. Koichi got up on the spot and smiled as usual, and although he was indeed "alive", his classmates gradually began to forget about Koichi's existence.

Color Rush (S1 !! I still couldn't bring myself to watch S2 cause I love S1 too much to move on, it's one of my comfort shows and Yoo Han is a big part of that but he isn't in S2....)

Monochromatic people (known as 'Mono's) live in a world where they are not able to see colours and therefore view their surroundings through varying shades of grey, black and white. However, every Mono has a fated person (known as 'Probe's) who is able to trigger their grey-scale world into colour, inducing what is termed as a 'Colour Rush'. Yeon Woo is a Mono. He’s aware that other colours do exist but has never experienced them for himself, nor was he interested in doing so. However, Yeon Woo’s life is forever changed when he meets Yoo Han, his Probe, and experiences his first 'Colour Rush'. Terrified that he would be obsessed with Yoo Han because of Yoo Han's ability to make him see colours, Yeon Woo tries to avoid Yoo Han, but why does Yoo Han insist on drawing close to him?

Love Tractor

Seon Yul, a temporarily relocated city man, meets Ye Chan, a rural man who adores the countryside.
