Red Carpet

“Whoa, talk about being dressed to kill!”
Lauren and Alex had just rendezvoused in the agency’s lobby and were waiting for the car that would drive them to the studio event that evening. Alex’s eyes went wide as she took in Lauren’s appearance.
“You are going to turn more heads than most of the actors there,” she finished.
Shifting on her feet, Lauren smiled shyly as she tucked her hair behind her ear and shook her head.
“My plan is the same as always – try to disappear into the background.”
Alex snorted.
“There is no way you can disappear in that dress,” she replied.
“Well, I’m gonna try,” said Lauren. “The only reason I’m even wearing this is because the zipper on the dress I was going to wear broke,” she fibbed.
Alex smirked and raised her eyebrows.
“Oh really? That’s the only reason?”
Lauren blushed, then tried to act confused at Alex’s remark.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Alex gave her a knowing look.
“So wearing that dress has nothing to do with you-know-who?”
“No,” Lauren shook her head. “With all the people there, I’m hoping he won’t even see me.”
“Then maybe you better change into a garbage bag,” Alex said, “because that dress says anything but ‘ignore me.’”
Lauren looked down at her outfit. The dress was definitely more provocative than anything she’d worn to an event before, but it was still tasteful. She’d felt confident when she’d tried it on, and as the thought of Cillian flashed through her mind, she’d gone with the impulse and purchased it. She truly did hope they wouldn’t cross paths, but if they did, she wanted to look good.
“Just do me a favor and keep your eye out. I’d like to avoid him at all costs. Thank God Sharon agreed to let me step back from dealing with him.”
“Yeah,” Alex replied, “how’d you swing that, anyway?”
“I just told her the truth – that he and I fooled around and now it’s just way too awkward for me to have to work with him.”
“But that’s not exactly the truth,” said Alex.
Lauren sighed.
“It’s true enough. She doesn’t need to know the details.”
“Wow, so you told her that and she wasn’t mad?” asked Alex.
Lauren smiled.
“No. She told me not to let it happen again, but that she understood. She said that way back when she first started working, the same thing actually happened to her.”
“Oh my God, seriously?!” Alex shrieked. “With who?!”
Lauren smiled again.
“I can’t be certain, but from what I picked up on, it was either Clint Eastwood or Patrick Stewart.”
Alex’s eyes widened quickly, before she and Lauren burst into laughter.
———————————————————
As the escort spoke directions about where they were going to have him go next, Cillian was only half listening. He nodded distractedly as someone else came up and pointed to a spot several yards ahead of him, indicating where he would be stopping for an interview. He still didn’t move, though, trying to stall for more time.
For the last half hour, he’d managed to linger near the end of the wide main aisle where all the attendees that night were entering the event and being briefed on where to go. The red carpet had been rolled out — literally — and dozens upon dozens of people had already gone by, but Cillian had yet to see Lauren. He knew that catching her upon entering was his only chance, because as soon as they were inside, there was no way he’d ever find her in the sea of people.
The last three days had been a slow hell, just waiting to be able to see her. Right now, he felt so on edge that he almost inadvertently decked the guy who’d come up beside him to give him more instructions, and he offered a distracted apology before turning back the way he’d been looking. He blew out a breath as he ran a hand through his hair.
Suddenly, a ways away, the shine from several sets of headlights caught Cillian’s eye as a few cars pulled up slowly along the curb and then stopped near the velvet ropes. He lifted his chin to try and get a better view, and as one of the car doors opened, his pulse quickened when he recognized the top of Lauren’s head, looking down as she stepped out of the car.
His first reaction upon seeing her was utter relief. She was there. But that quickly changed to stunned reverence once she fully stood up and he saw all of her.
Holy fucking shit, he thought.
She was a vision.
While she was always beautiful, Lauren typically kept her appearance simpler, not wanting to draw attention to herself. Cillian had never seen her this glammed up before, and he almost hyperventilated at the sight. Her dress was sexy yet classy, and it hugged every inch of her figure and highlighted her perfect breasts. She had on a pair of sexy little heels, and her hair was down in loose waves. She looked so unbelievable that he momentarily forgot what he was even doing there. He was snapped out of it when one of the escorts spoke to him again.
“You gotta go, man,” he said to him, giving him a clap on the back.
Still looking to where Lauren and Alex stood, Cillian took a few steps forward before stopping again. He watched as they made their way towards the carpet, but was distracted again when Sharon called his name from up ahead.
“Cillian! Let’s go; you’re next!” She gestured to him with a wave of her hand.
Reluctantly, he turned and began moving forward again, but Lauren was now close enough behind him that she’d heard Sharon shout his name. She resolved not to look at him, though.
As Cillian looked back one more time, he saw Lauren and Alex had stopped momentarily. Several more people were now entering at the same time, moving slowly, and it had become a mess of bodies and noise. Still standing along the edge of the carpet, he was urged forward one more time, closer to where they were getting ready to interview him. He saw Lauren begin to walk through the crowd again.
“Lauren!” he shouted, trying to get her attention.
Despite the noise, Lauren heard it, and it caused a strange feeling to expand in her chest. In all the time they’d known each other, he’d never called her by her name before. It affected her for a moment, but she was still determined to ignore him. She kept on walking.
“Lauren!” he shouted again, but she still didn’t turn to look at him.
He wasn’t sure whether she didn’t hear him, or she was ignoring him, but she clearly had the intention of going right past him.
Still standing near the edge of the carpet, Cillian quickly stepped out as Lauren walked by, reaching out and grabbing her hand and swiftly pulling her towards him. Lauren let out a little yelp of surprise and stumbled slightly as Cillian grabbed her, and she was momentarily disoriented before looking up at him.
“What are you doing?!?!” she hissed at him, her face a mixture of shock and anger. She tried to wriggle her hand out of his as she straightened herself.
“We need to talk,” he said to her.
“This is hardly the time or the place,” she whispered, gesturing to the camera they were getting ready to put on him. “Besides, I have nothing to say to you.”
“Well, I have plenty to say to you, sweetheart,” he replied.
At that, Lauren roughly yanked her hand out of his and stepped back.
“Don’t. Call. Me. That!” she said slowly through gritted teeth, glaring at him.
Looking at her, Cillian frowned, but after a split second, realization suddenly dawned on him, his eyebrows rising.
“Is that what this is all about?” he said to her. When she only continued to look at him, he stepped towards her and reached for her hand again, grabbing it and not letting her pull away.
“Cillian!” Sharon shouted from behind them. He quickly looked over his shoulder before turning back to Lauren.
“I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours, but we’ll talk about this later. But right now, you’re staying with me.” As he spoke, he looked into Lauren’s eyes, and something in his gaze kept her from arguing. Still holding her hand, Cillian turned back around and moved forward towards the camera, pulling Lauren with him.
Once they reached their spot, they stood next to the interviewer in silence for a moment as the cameraman finished prepping. Lauren shifted awkwardly from foot to foot, and when she looked over and saw Sharon watching them, the look of confusion on her face almost made her laugh. Quickly, Sharon gestured for Lauren to step away, but when she tried to, Cillian just gripped her hand tighter and pulled her back to him. Lauren could only give Sharon an apologetic look as she simultaneously shrugged her shoulders and remained in her spot.
“Right,” the cameraman said, “here we go.”
At that, the bright light on the camera flicked on, and the cameraman indicated with his finger for the interviewer, a middle-aged woman with far too much makeup on, to begin.
“Tonight is a celebration of Hollywood and the amazing work and talent that has come out of it through the generations,” the interviewer began. “Countless stars have walked these carpets, and each of them has left their mark on the movie industry. With me now is Cillian Murphy, an incredibly talented actor who is no stranger to the red carpet. Cillian, thank you for speaking with us.”
The camera panned over to Cillian, and Lauren felt her heart race. Was she in the shot? She discreetly tried to step away, but Cillian didn’t release her hand.
“Of course, thank you,” he responded to the interviewer.
“Tonight is a celebration of not only actors, however, but Hollywood as a whole. What many people often forget is that there’s so much more to this industry beyond the acting, isn’t that true?” the interviewer continued.
“100 percent,” Cillian replied. “And personally, in my case, I’d be nowhere without the support I receive. It takes the talent and efforts of many people.”
“Can you elaborate on that?” the interviewer asked.
“Not articulately,” Cillian replied with a self-deprecating smirk. He then turned his head to Lauren and smiled, pulling her forward.
“This is the woman you want to talk to,” Cillian continued. “She has more talent than anyone I know, and she could singlehandedly run all of Hollywood, believe me.”
Lauren’s heart raced and she looked at Cillian with wide eyes. But he looked back at her encouragingly, squeezing her hand.
“Oh, wonderful!” the interviewer responded as the cameraman now focused on Lauren. “So, what’s your story, dear?”
After that, the next several hours seemed to go by in a blur. Once they’d finished speaking with the first interviewer, Cillian was stopped a couple more times along the carpet on the way inside the event for more questions and photos. Each time, he responded to the interviewers in a way that led to bringing Lauren into the conversation. By the time they’d made it inside the event, she thought her cheeks were likely now permanently red because of how much she’d been blushing. But she managed to keep her composure, and at one point, even Sharon, who’d been monitoring everything from the sidelines, gave her a thumbs up. Lauren just smiled back unsurely and shrugged her shoulders again.
Once inside the event, Cillian didn’t stop. Still holding her hand, he pulled Lauren along with him, guiding her through the crowd. Throughout the evening, he introduced her to dozens of people, from other actors, to directors, to journalists, and they were engaged in countless interactions and conversations. The entire time, Cillian kept her close, alternating between holding her hand and slipping an arm around her waist. Occasionally, he whispered something in her ear about someone they were about to encounter, and every single time, it stirred butterflies in her stomach.
As he had on the red carpet, Cillian made it a point to highlight Lauren in some way in each conversation they had, and multiple times, he made her blush with the compliments he voiced about her to others. Lauren didn’t know how to feel about it all, as his behavior was a stark contrast to what she thought he was trying to do prior to tonight, which was to humiliate her. She didn’t know what to think anymore, and as much as they were talking, it wasn’t to each other very much, and so she didn’t know what he was thinking, either. But as Cillian’s fingers once again laced through hers and he introduced her to yet another person, she allowed herself to stop trying to figure it out for the time being.
Finally, a few hours later, after the crowd had thinned, they found themselves parting from their final conversation. But instead of looking at her, Cillian simply pulled Lauren along again, and he led her outside before then walking to the spot where an agency car soon pulled up along the curb. Without a word, Cillian opened the door for Lauren and ushered her into the car, before getting in after her. It wasn’t until Cillian had given the driver instructions and the car began to move that Lauren spoke.
“Where are we going?” she asked him quietly.
Cillian’s face was unreadable as he looked straight ahead.
“Somewhere where you can’t run away,” he answered. “We still need to talk.”
“But where are we going?” she repeated.
Cillian then turned to her, and the heated look he gave her could have burned her skin.
“My place.”

Our Dates (Christen Press x Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: If I’m being honest, I watched a movie and it inspired me. Also this was in my drafts for months so I hope it’s good and that you like it, because it took me forever to finish it. Thank you for having patience with me. I’m sorry I haven’t had any fics out but I hope you love this!
Also thank you to all 101 followers! So a little thank you for surpassing 100 followers! (: Enjoy!
“So where should I take her?” The guy standing in front of you asks.
“Somewhere, where there’s definitely fries.” You say as you pick up your phone to see Christen had asked you if you were on your way over to watch a movie with her.
“Is that it? What else should I know?”
“She likes dogs, a stuffed animal. She’d like that.”
“Cool. Cool. Thanks again.”
“That’s what I’m here for.” You say with a tight lipped smile.
You wondered just how you got here. Just a random person in this world. Like any other person. Well kind of. See your best friends happened to be Alex Morgan and Christen Press. Professional soccer players.
And you? Well you just happened to be friends with Christen in college and then also became friends with Alex when Christen introduced you to her after her second camp with the national team.
You were not them, you were not like them. You felt as if you were not even close to who they are. You’re just a somebody in this world. Or you thought so.
So what did you do? Well often times you were helping women and occasionally guys who constantly asked for help when they wanted to take out your friends for dinner. On dates. Something that began in college. That’s why guys and girls often talked to you, not because they were attracted to you. But that wouldn’t matter either way. Men are trash, as your mother said multiple times. On the other hand sometimes you wouldn't mind if a woman would talk to you. Or anyone other than your two friends.
“Thanks again."
"Not a problem." You say as you head towards your car.
"Hi Y/N." You hear the soft voice of Christen coming through the phone.
"Hi Chris."
"I wanted to know if you wanted to watch a movie tonight maybe grab some pizza on the way here, but I have somewhere to be."
You knew where she would be, but she didn't know that you were the reason she would be there.
"Oh that's fine, I'll be with Alex. She said I can spend the night with her, so you'll have the apartment to yourself."
"Oh. Okay, well um I'll see you tomorrow?"
"See you tomorrow Chris. Have a good day."
You drove over to Alex's house. Big house might you add.
Meanwhile, while you drove over to Alex's house, Christen was on the phone with Alex.
"I hate going on dates, but how do I say no." Christen says as she flops onto her bed.
"Well Chris, you simply say no. Easy as that." Alex says as she grabs some clothes out and setting them on her bed for you. "You know, you wouldn't have to go on these dates if you would ask someone you like."
"If only it were that easy."
"It is. It is that easy, you're just scared." Alex says.
“It boggles my mind just how many times I’ve been asked out in the past two months.”
“All because you literally can’t say no to anyone.”
“Ugh whatever. Hey, Y/N said she’s spending the night with you? What are you guys going to do?”
“Oh I’m going to help her set up a profile on some dating apps.” Alex says.
“What?”
“Kidding. Please I wouldn’t do that. Y/N needs someone who isn’t from a dating app. Someone who cares for her and loves her, someone who isn’t afraid to admit their love for her.”
“I feel like I’m being targeted here.” Christen says. “Which I feel offended.”
“Have fun on your date.”
“Please don’t tell Y/N I’m going on a date. I beg you.” Christen pleads.
“I won’t I promise.” Alex says. “Now go get ready. She’ll be here soon and I don’t think you want her to hear about your date.”
You parked your car in the driveway. Making your way inside the lovely home. Your mind was completely somewhere else though, wondering if Christen would like the person she’s going out with tonight. If she would fall in love with this person, would they be the one?
“Hey, you’re here.” Alex says with a smile. “I ordered non vegan pizza for you. Come on let’s head to the room so you can get changed into something more comfortable.”
“Did Christen say where she’d be?” You ask as you both made your way to the room. You wondered if Christen told Alex about her date and if so, would Alex lie to you?
“I think she said she’d be going out with some teammates for some like team thing. I don’t know really though, she didn’t specify. Why?”
“Just curious. She didn’t tell me where she’d be.”
“Oh weird.”
The rest of the night you spent your time with Alex and her dogs. Who tried cheering you up, it worked but just for a little. You just wished Christen would be here as well.
Hoping it could just be the three of you like the good ol’ days.
- - - -
The following day you decided to not talk to Christen. The week after, you decided you’d be spending the nights with Alex, wanting to be away from the one person who you loved so deeply but couldn’t stand seeing them with someone else. Luckily for you once again she didn’t agree for a second date with the person. That gave you some hope.
Weeks went by and the World Cup was finally here.
You had traveled with Alex’s father to France for the World Cup. You loved the Press family, but that would only mean they’d ask about Christen and how living with her has been. You didn’t want that right now.
Unfortunately for you, at the final game. You couldn’t avoid them. But you didn’t mind much, you were ready for anything.
“Seconds away from the final whistle.” Cody says with a smile.
“Yeah. Seconds.” You say.
The final whistle blew. Hands in the air, cheers erupting in the stadium.
“We won! Chris we won!” Tobin shouts as she runs over to Christen. “Chris we won.”
“We did. Yes we did.” Christen says.
“You seem happy but not at the same time.” Tobin whispers. “What’s up?”
“I see her and I know we just won the World Cup but it feels like I haven’t won anything. Does that make sense?”
“Um. No. Not really.” Tobin says scratching the back of her head.
You looked at Christen from the stands, hugging her family as you cheered and yelled as the final whistle blew.
You patiently waited for them to receive their medals, and you pulled away from Tyler when you see some of the girls surrounding Christen. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion as you watched them talk to Christen.
You watched as the girls all formed in a line ready to receive their medal. Suddenly Christen breaks form. Her eyes not leaving you. The girls cheering as Christen runs over to where you are. Christen grabbed the closest chair to her, climbing on it to reach you.
“Chris? What are you doing?” You ask with a nervous laugh.
“Something I should’ve done a long time ago.”
“What? Christen go get your medal.” You exclaim as you point over towards the girls, but Christen doesn’t move. “Chris?”
Christen cups your face, as she tiptoed on the chair to reach you, she pulled you in for a kiss. Her lips and your lips synching with each other. You wrapped your arms around her neck as you pulled her closer to you.
“I don’t want any medal.” Chris says as she cups your face. “I want you. It’s always been you.”
“Yeah Chris!” Kelley shouts.
You both pull away and rest your foreheads against each others. You lean into her to place a soft kiss on her lips.
"As much as I love this. Go get your medal."
"Okay, but I'll be right back as soon as I can. The medal isn't what I'm happy to take home with me."
"Woah. Keep it PG, I'm your sister and your father is right here." Tyler says making you both laugh.
The girls all get their medal, lifting the trophy and all the fun stuff for them. Meanwhile you were definitely in a whole other world. You're snapped back into reality when you hear Alex shout your name, making her way over to you with Christen.
“It’s about damn time.” Alex says with a smile.
“Wait. You knew she liked me?” You and Christen both say in unison.
“We’re best-friends, what’s so shocking? I know everything. I tried to help you both confess your feelings towards each other but nothing worked. So I just waited.”
“So you watched us suffer?” Christen says glaring at Alex.
“You wouldn’t take my advice Chris and Y/N my love you didn’t even want to listen to half of the things I had to say.”
“Note to self pay more attention to Alex.” You whisper. “Got it.”
- - - -
Your hands intertwined as you walked into Christen’s hotel room. A smile on both of your faces.
Walking in the room you bit your lip, deciding if you should tell Christen.
“I need to tell you something.” You say out of a sudden. Eyes wide as the words came out of your mouth without thinking.
“Should I be scared?” Christen says with a light chuckle.
“Your dates.”
“My dates?” Christen asks confused.
“The dates you would go to, just a couple weeks ago with the guy who took you to get some fries and bought you a stuffed animal.” You say.
“Wait. How do you know that? Did Alex tell you?”
Ah ha. Alex knew. Liar. You made a mental note to give Alex a wack on the face with a pillow.
“No she didn’t tell me.” You hesitated a little before taking a deep breath. “It was me. I was the one who helped them set up some dates with you, help them know what you love. It’s been like this since college.”
Christen looked shocked, her eyes blank as she looked at you.
“But why? Also since college?”
“I just wanted you to be loved and be with someone who loves you. Even if it wasn’t me.”
Christen’s face softened as she grabbed hold of your hands. She smiles softly at you and took in a deep breath.
“You suffered for so long just for me to be happy? Oh Y/N you’re too pure.”
“I just love seeing you happy.” You say shrugging your shoulders. “Why would you always say no to every person who asked you for a second date?”
“You want the truth?”
“Always.”
“Y/N my love, it’s because they weren’t you.” Christen says softly, placing a soft kiss on your lips. “I only wanted you.”
“Well at least it all worked out.” You say smiling.
“Now help me set up a date with the most beautiful person in this world.” Christen says.
“Who me?” You ask.
“Obviously you. But I think this time maybe I should be the one to set it all up. You’ve done that for me for way too long now. It’s your turn to be loved and taken out. Someone who takes you out and knows every single little detail about you and what you love.”
“As long as it’s with you.” You say.
“You’re loved Y/N. Let me love you forever. It’s your turn to feel that love you want. It’s no more of my dates or your dates. It’ll be OUR dates now.”
“Our dates.” You say with a smile.

Episode 18
I’ve always thought it’s neat how Twitch just kinda hovers around all the time in bot mode – we don’t really ever see that in other shows, at least not that I can remember. I wonder if Nightshade’ll do that too or if it’s just to keep her in frame when she’s with taller bots lmao. anyway flying sibling bonding time When
OH GEEZ YEAH THEY REALLY ARE GOING THERE. DAMN. that does answer my question of who Bee was fighting last episode tho
oh so he’s probably only mostly dead. got it. Still though, that imagery was straight out of a horror movie
oof. yikes
between the arms, near (?) death, and this coughing he’s getting very Grievous-esque
lmao yeah, if only
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this is Good Shit but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OUGH I was just thinking earlier today abt there being an ep where their bond is gone for whatever reason and them having to deal with that, especially since the Terrans have never not had it                  that’s probably not really what they’re gonna get into here but it’s still neat to see it to some degree
Dot is gonna be Pissed.
I kinda hope this is gonna end up like Rescue Bots where the kids are free to interact with the residents of Witwicky, at least. imagine………….slice of life school episodes……………..learning more about their family cultures……………….literally anything except these poor kids being traumatized every other episode 😞
Good to know they live in a dystopia where your car apparently requires wi-fi to run and can be driven remotely by people hacking into it 😬
NOOOOOOOOOOO 😭😭😭 baby
OUFGH THE POWER OF FAMILYU…………………………
They’re uh. They’re not creating an army of siblings, are they.
A HEEM HEEM……………WHIMPER…………………..
man I gotta say I do really hate how energon’s become like their Only food source. Like whatever happened to drinking oil. or gas. Beryllium baloney. hell, why don’t they ever explore the idea of finding/making a New kind of food – like how is ANYONE even getting energon on Earth anyway??? Is it growing here thanks to the Emberstone??? Being made from other energy sources like the G1 cartoon??? (Where Autobots didn’t even use energon at first, they got their energy from recharging chambers) Can it be grown like sugar crystals or something and harvested like in TFA??? Anyway some variety Please im Begging you. Isn’t it enough for energon to be a super powerful energy source. Back to the making new food thing I know they’ve done synth-en a couple times but that en still refers to energon so. Now researching the Terrans water stuff and seeing if they can figure out how to make something from THAT would be great.       ..................something something Twitch gamer girl bathwater. is that anything
Only vaguely related but I don’t think they’ve ever addressed the issue of how exactly they all got to Earth anyway. Prime’s talked to Teletraan 1 so presumably the Ark exists somewhere? maybe being repaired somewhere away from GHOST? but atm I think all we know is what Alex said about them arriving via an apparently pre-made space bridge(??????), and iirc in Alex’s story they all just kinda. Walked through it. Meaning no one got here via spaceship. Which makes me wonder if maybe the Ark is something that’s in the process of being created so someone can go check if Cybertron still exists and if so what the state of affairs is there.
Actually it’d be a neat touch if the factions did arrive on their respective ships, but both were heavily damaged, and it’s only by working together (and maybe incorporating some Earth technology?) that they can use parts of both the Ark and the Nemesis to create a new ship for everyone (who wants to) to go home in.       going back to the “please let the kids chill” episode ideas like it’d be neat to see them all visit Cybertron and learn about Cybertronian culture(s. please more than one im Begging. Different Cybertronian languages. Religions. FOODS. Etc.)
A lot of this is just going off of what Alex said way back in what, episode 1? 2? And we’ve seen stuff in flashbacks that contradict his story, so it’s clearly not the most reliable source of info – but it’s pretty much all we’ve got.
sdfdkjghfsdjklfh like they aren’t gonna be all over the morning news
yeah I was gonna say, he’s doing pretty well for having like. All his energon drained.
Btw I think Cybertronian languages really oughta have different words for like. energon (crystal/mineral), energon (beverage), and energon (blood).  And maybe resolve the blue/pink thing by going with blue crystals (I feel like we’ve seen them more than pink ones?), pink blood (aka it’s definitely recognizable as a blood stand-in but is Legally not blood. just like Star Trek), and maybe bring back the rainbow for the beverage. You could definitely argue that beverage and blood could use the same word, but I feel like there should at LEAST be different words for different states of matter.
Speaking of, I don’t think we’ve seen much in the way of energon as a gas except BotBots (where it’s also plasma (?) since it’s shown as lightning that hits the mall, which is then filled w/energon gas. Also bring back BotBots Please. or make them part of Earthspark as a new kind of Terran :ssbenis:) and I think that one episode of TFA where Optimus uses Swindles boobs to teleport. Or maybe that was another space substance, I don’t remember.
Hm that’s a lot of Not Much to do with the actual episode and a Lot of me just coming up with my own ideas for worldbuilding sdkf;jhsdkjf. sorry.
I noticed it before but I gotta say I love the bit of graffiti that just says “queso”
ooh interesting. Something something the Terrans are the natural result of Cybertron and Earth interacting and they need a similar naturally combined source of energy to survive, while Mandroid is now a forced, artificial combination of Cybertron and Earth stuff that needs artificial energon patches to survive.
Side note but were energon patches a thing before Rescue Bots? I don’t think they were. If that’s true then it’s neat to see Rescue Bots original stuff becoming part of the larger TF mythos :D Makes sense given that Nicole Dubuc and others worked on both shows
side side note but how exactly did humans end up with control of the energon supply anyway. did they ever mention something abt agreeing to that in return for a planet to live on or something and I just forgor?
I kinda wish they’d built up the return of Mandroid and his collaboration with what’s-her-face a bit more, but I guess this in-and-of-itself is setup for season 2.
Yeah WHO coulda seen THAT coming 😬😬😬
Btw did we uh. Ever see the aftermath of Hashtag & co.’s prison break? We saw Skullcruncher getting dragged back inside so I think we’re supposed to assume everyone got recaptured, but given there’ve been hints at Soundwave and Starscream being up to no good, it wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out they got away.
Especially since she’s like “they’re all disposable” and there’s this dramatic reveal of Hardtop, Skullcruncher I think, and …………………a bunch of empty cells. lmao
I thought Jawbreaker was gonna get his altmode this season bc I definitely saw a leak of I think a rough animatic that showed what it was, but I guess that won’t be ‘til next season. When is that btw bc I Need it.
I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned this yet but I Love the facial animations in the show, they’re really really good.

Got some points to share :) What i dont understand the most is the fandom's hypocrisy of demanding emmy to be so accommodating to will despite her circumstances (even in the present) as if he was not one of the MOST PRIVILEGED WHITE MAN in his town or county, and most of the shit he got into was his own fault. He had old money WEALTH. Old. Money. Wealth. And he was also supported by the society AND institution, how is the fandom making him look like HE was the one who suffered most here? So much wealth that emmy didnt have, and yet he never spent a single cent to contact her again even after he saw her bruised and bloodied, yet the fandom expected her to come back to him? Like this guy prioritised his hurt feelings over her rejection rather than her ACTUAL HEALTH AND SAFETY knowing that nobody in that town gave a fuck about her at all. Will can spend all his inheritance and his mommy and daddys money on booze, alcohol, parties, sex parties, women, escort services, big cars, helicopter rides, YET he couldnt be there for emmy? Not even a call? A free email? Right. Sorry, but emory scott always deserves better to me, not will grayson. If i was emory, i woudve hurt her more ngl, im kinda vengeful with whiny bitches like will grayson. I cant stand him. I just knew that the reason why this fandom likes to pile on emmy because: 1. she admitted her fault and took responsibility of her actions unlike will, 2. She made it clear he didnt owe her anything (even when will himself said he shouldve staye) and didnt think she was entitled to will unlike will to emmy, 3. Its easier to sympathise over a sad white privileged guy after everything he did or didnt do to "his woman" because RoMaNce where if they can read about him simping about her in his mind, he was immediately ABSOLVED OF ALL GUILT AND WRONGDOINGS TO EMMY. But the devils night fandom is not ready for this take. Also because 4. when they said they like dark romance, they can only take shitty men like michael and damon, but hate it when the sex and gender was the opposite. My point is, its dark romance, if will can be shit, why cant emmy? Period. I dont even care if they get even at that point.
Thanks to this fandom, i thought about alex, this useless side character more than i had to so i had to. I'm also an alex hater through and through and i agree with a lot of anon and your points about alex here. In fact, i love the alex slander actually because putting aside some valid criticisms about how a lot of twitter dn fans are just misogynistic towards her because of their bias towards emmy, there are actually a lot of valid points why alexs character was just icky and you and that anon are the only ones that i have seen so far that have the same take as me. They like to dismiss our takes with "oh its an emory scott fans thats why, its the jealousy" like huh? First of all, why didnt yall talk about wills hypocrisy of sleeping around with everyone in a skirt but was jealous as fuck of damon and aydin bonds with emmy? Yeah, right. Second of all, even emory can be rational when willalex were giving her shit, just because emmy was emotional in those moments, doesnt mean she was irrational. She was literally kidnapped to an abandoned island with no one there to help her and will made it clear he didnt give a fuck about her and reminded her how she was nothing to him. Alex who was supposedly her "friend" wanted her to stay and help will as if she had no other job and responsibilities outside of will. Why would she stay? Shes not even rich, she gotta go back home and pay her bills. Stupid argument honestly. Tbh, My dislike for alex was not even because of her relationship with Will. They both owed emmy nothing, even em knew this. A big part of the fandom hates alex because of this willalexs take but i personally dont agree with this take tbh. Instead of blaming alex on this, the argument between alexemmy started because it was on will, and even aydin to a certain extent, for being a fucking loser of a man, and for pitting two women against each other.
But i also wanna just say to these people who defended alex palmer so much: lets not act as if alex never had a history of laughing at other women when SHE was being put on a pedestal, instead of someone else (especially with michael to rika in corrupt, and damon to winter in kill switch) either. Like rika, banks, winter, and alexs relationship started with misogyny. LIKE LITERALLY. Only alexemmys relationship started with a bonding OUTSIDE of being pitted against one another no matter how weird the circumstances was. Even then, theyre still just on acquaintances level yk. And i feel like alex felt challenged and angry at emmy in nightfall because she thought emmy was better than her (alex chose to believe because her shallow world had not allowed her to think about anything else as long as it justified her anger. She also probably was jealous and look at emmys situation and think emmy didnt have to do anything but all these men were going to jail for her, suddenly being her brothers and protective of her, bonding with the guys or smth like that, and later have access to so much wealth, ad compared to her who had been an escort etc., yet still she had nothing. Its totally irrationally personal, her anger towards emmy was not rational at all). Its the jealousy and inferiority speaking tbh.
Look at the way aydins ex, rika, banks, thunders bay people etc. talk to her? Like shit. Whether its in front or behind her back. Now did this misogyny happened for alexemmy's friendship? Nope! Best girl Emory Scott thats right! Even rika, banks and winter had slutshamed alex and other women with various degrees, but look at the way emmy talk about sex workers? (These girls too grew up with so much isogyny so understandably, they had to unlearn and relearn a lot. Theyre so different in nightfall, love that for them tbh). Like heavens and earth and i think its easier for people like alex to accept being treated like shit because unhealthy female relationship and rivalry was what she was always used to, and she always had to be the person to initiate being the "cool girl who'll just roll with everything", especially with her relationship with banks) that when she found a healthy and supportive female friend that didnt start like shit, and would ACTUALLY take her side instead of their man (will or aydin), she was kinda shocked and became stupid, not knowing how to react to it in a kinder manner. Its like a defense mechanism. Alex never rose her voice to rika, banks and winter, unlike what she did to emmy and its because she probably never felt challenged by them because their men still paid for her services so what can these women do much to her really + she never saw aydin took interest in them like he did with emmy (disregarding the manipulation aside, im trying to make people understand her possible pov). This is why woman should have healthy female relationships! No one wants to be like corrupt rika, pre-marriage banks/ winter and nightfall alex! No one wants to admit that alex too, just everyone else, had internalised misogyny. I dont think anyone ever noticed the nuances really, alex hid it too well, but it shone through in her lowest moments unlike emmy. Because when emmy was at her lowest, she never humiliate alex to step on her like what alex did to emmy in blackchurch or on the train, but emmy straight up attack will (verbally) because why would she attack alex? Will was the one who hurt emmy not alex. But aydin attacked alex, and its emmys fault that alexs man was shitty? She was so wrong for that. Emmy never even shame her throughout nightfall, so this only highlights how different emmy's character in this series. Ngl, i think only Emory is the true girls' girls in this series. *Side note, Alexaydin, sigh... such fucking cowards this couple tbh.
Wasnt it also mentioned in conclave that alex had a fall out with her ex's roommate and then she was labelled "the slut" as if the three of them were not being stupid horny college students together, but alex was the only person who be the bad guy. That must have caused a lot of resentment in her because then she just became an escort not only to support her education and lifestyle, but also to use it against aydin. How does that even compare to emmy's pain, honestly! Theyre literally not the same and the fandom always like to dismiss em's pain just because em looked at her highly even when the text in the books shows otherwise. Alex couldve quit her job anytime now, she didnt need the money anymore, she did it for personal fun, sexual liberation and revenge against aydin. And now that when she went through the SAME THING that she did to other women by laughing at them and got treated like shit back, wow suddenly, emmys seen as a bitch? Huh? Emmy never even laughed at her face or looked down on her unlike others, not even once in nightfall unlike rika, banks or even winter, so i believe alexs stupid shit in nightfall was really out of inferiority complex and jealousy. Like "shes better than me thats why i had to put her down" kinda complex. The hypocrisy was too much but i dont think anyone really noticed this. Thats why alexs character was shit to me because her arc was so??? Where did this misogyny came from? But then when i think again and piece her story from the start, it made sense because to a certain extent, alex probably had looked down at all these rich people (including women bcs if her ex roommate) with their rich problems and then she met emmy, who didnt fit in with these stereotypes she had about people of thunder bay, and she had heard a lot of good things about em from will prob, so her sex worker card that she likes to use against these people suddenly dont work anymore because she realised that she wasnt the only one suffering. She cant best her, so in her moment of anger, she had to step over emmy in front of everyone but really, it just proves how nasty of a person she is and shownhow ugly her jealousy can be. Thats why she couldnt argue back with emmy after. She fucked up, but no one really noticed this because her misogyny wasnt so blatant like those in corrupt, hideaway and kill switch. What i also dont understand is how she always talk as if she was a victim EVERY. DAMN. TIME. Her speeches in corrupt, conclave and nightfall just solidified alexs characterisation. I cant stand her tbh, all of alexrika conversations really rot my brain lmao, because they always give these two stupid friends talking about eveyrthing and nothing vibes.
Since this is dark romance, i can understand if pd wants to put a character like alex, or any women really to be shit, but alexs fans didnt have to act like the annoyance towards her was because people cant stand willalex, as if alex herself was a snow white who can do no wrong or something, when she was proven that she did, was shitty sometimes. Like her mary sue character was even worse than rika 😭🤣 And the thing is, if everyone, even emmy, was so morally righteous, none of them would be the horsemens family. The fact that these women are their partners, everyones already guilty just by association, like what emmy said to alex in the train. So why put alex or anyone from dn, on such a high pedestal so much? (Alex is kinda Like kai in her morally right shit, but she just got more fleck for it). Even i admit that emmy wasnt always a nice girl either but i wasnt delusional like alex and her fans tbh. Ugh, so annoying. Hopefully the bonus contents we're gonna get by pd soon only has exclusive willemmy contents for willemmy. or i will riot!!
Yeah, some of the readers need to re-evaluate their perspective. But I really don’t want to convince anyone to see things my way so…hopefully they stay wherever they’re at. As I’ve said before, I haven’t involved myself with any of the discourse or in-fighting in the fandom, so I’m not sure what they’re arguing over, but it sounds like a waste of energy and time. I mean, I get it’s willemmy vs willalex, but…like. Ugh could you imagine making that the center of your fandom experience? Horrible.
You make a good point about the start of the friendship between Alex and Emory. I’ve never been…happy (?) with how it started, because it involved Alex making a whole lot of assumptions about Emory and being right…because she’s Alex and she’s always right…of course. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be Alex. And then to have that be the one night they spend with each other, and suddenly Alex understands Emory like no one else. She gets her.
How?
Oh, right. It’s Alex. Enough said.
The idea that Alex couldn’t process anything that challenged her justifications for her anger because that would mean she’s wrong about something. It would be an actual flaw on her part. And that her feelings for Emory were borne a bit of jealousy. I’d have like if her character and went farther in that direction.
I think for my part, I always considered Alex’s main motive toward Emory was knowing that Will was still in love with her and that Emory had the power and ability to hurt him as she had before. She was protective of Will – “her reflection.” It’s nice to see another possibility/side of it. You make a good point. I guess I never considered Alex feeling inferior to Emory. Emory’s background being different from the people she’s surrounded herself with, to then see Emory rise above that and carry on, leaving Will behind like she probably saw Aydin rejecting her, and suddenly seeing the way Will and Aydin react to Emory might have made her feel small and like a stand-in, which she is for so many.
I agree that it’s a little out of bounds to compare Alex’s pain with Emory’s.
You said she couldn’t argue back with Emory and I’m not sure of the moment you’re talking about but the first thing that came to mind was “that’s my shirt”…like, girl. Girl. Are we being that pathetic right now? But yeah. Alex’s “justified” anger was weak. And her framing herself as the victim was annoying.
“If everyone, even emmy, was so morally righteous, none of them would be the horsemen’s family.” Yeah, exactly.
I had to put the book down and take a deep breath with Rika said “I had to remind myself we weren’t really criminals.” Or something like that. Excuse me, ma’am, but what? You’re not what now? Have you not been paying attention? You cannot erase the last three-to-four years.
Alex is like Kai in her moral superiority is not a take I thought I’d ever see but…there it is. Nice to see they have something in common.
I didn’t know we were getting any bonus content but you’re the second person who’s told me. I hope we get something good for NF.

Yesterday was a shit day.
It didn't help that you came in here 2 days in a row for morning cuddles (Thursday because of the storm, and Friday just because you wanted to and you could) but weren't able to do so on Saturday. It also didn't help that I once again was up past 5 am when I had to be up shortly after 9, and took one of my CBD sleep gummies at some point after 3am). But I woke up tired and groggy and cranky and congested/sinus headachey, had to deal with girls, and then.
Then I asked you a simple question: would you be able to run a simple errand for me and/or take me to run it myself. You didn't even really answer the question. You said you and Kacee weren't planning on going to Walmart - which wasn't what I asked; I asked whether you could pick up an order for me, regardless of whether you had already planned on going or not, but god forbid you have to take Kacee out of her way for the literally FIVE MINUTES it would take to pick up my order 🙄 - and THEN you suggested I ask your mom to pick it up for me. Your mom who barely speaks to me any more than Kacee does, who was out running errands god only knows where, and who ALSO didn't go to Walmart. Fuck off. Fuck alllll the way off with that.
And of course the answer to the latter half of my question was also (an unspoken) no, because your mom still had Alex's truck and there was no way in frozen-over hell that Kacee was going to let you take me anywhere in her boss's car, with or without her. But that all went without saying.
And THEN, since you were so adamant about not going to Walmart and trying to foist off my request on literally anyone else you could, I decided to do what I very rarely do: I checked Life360 and tracked your whereabouts. Turns out by "running errands," you and Kacee apparently actually meant "going on a date." You told me you were picking up parts for your car and going to talk to a mechanic about fixing it; but from what I saw on the app, it looked like y'all ate lunch, spent a few hours at the arcade (maybe saw a movie??), maybe went to Drug Emporium (and/or Lowe's for some reason), and went out to dinner too. Whereas when I need to run errands, I have to plan it for days in advance, BEG for permission to ride in the car with you, go straight to the store and immediately back home, and STILL get accused of lying about where I went and why. But when Kacee needs to "run errands," it apparently means taking you out for a prolonged date out on the town and only barely doing anything actually important. But I don't get to go out on dates with you, again unless I plan for WEEKS in advance, and even if I do, she can't last for more than a few hours without texting you and picking a fight to ruin my day. It's fucking bullshit, Eli. I'm tired of being treated like a second-class citizen, in my home and in my relationship, and being treated like I'm on house arrest. I've done nothing to deserve that.
And I don't appreciate you fucking lying to me. You lied (by omission but still a lie) about WHY you couldn't run to Walmart for me right quick, you lied about what you were out doing in the first place, and you refused to even answer the part about whether or not you could take me later. I understand that she doesn't want you texting me and vice versa - but this was a clear case of LOGISTICS, which was one of the only exceptions to that rule. And you shut me down without even a moment's consideration.
Between that, and me trying to wait for everyone else for dinner (and thus being hangry), and having to deal with a sinus headache, and Kayleigh being extra annoying after her cousins left - is it any wonder that I was mad and irritated when you got home? Is it any wonder that, when you asked me under your breath whether or not I was okay, when I finally got to eat something for the first time in 7+ hours, I shook my head "no"? Oh and thank you SO much for following up on that, btw. (That's sarcasm, in case that was unclear; you DIDN'T follow up or ask for further explanation/clarification and you really fucking should have.)
So yeah. Yesterday was an absolutely garbage day. And I'm still suffering from sinus crap and dysentery, and I am still mad at you. When I've told you point blank that what I need you to pick up for me is MEDICATION to treat health issues I'm struggling with, and you just tell me "no can do" and try to shift responsibility to someone else; when you refuse to help me and then have the AUDACITY to ask me if I'm okay? Fuck you. No, I’m OBVIOUSLY not fucking okay, asshole. And you're being a shit boyfriend. If you're even technically my boyfriend anymore.
Maybe it's time I start properly enforcing this "break" we're supposed to be taking.

Chapter 7 - Calm Before the Storm
Lennox POV
On the last stretch towards Midvale, I decide to put my book down because I'm a little car sick. I don't feel like I have to throw up but my head is definitely hot and hurting.
"Hey, love you okay? Your face is a bit pale." Lena says turning to face me with her hand on my thigh.
"Yeah I'll be okay. I'm just a bit car sick from reading for too long I think." I say putting my head down.
"Here, drink some water, babe." Lena hands me a water bottle.
About 45 minutes later we pull up to Eliza's house. I'm nervous to meet her. I love Kara so I want to make a good impression for her adoptive mom. We get out of the car and I have to lean up against the car a bit, due to still being dizzy.
"Woah, hey you alright Len?" Kara asks helping me so I'm leaning on her.
"Yeah, just still a bit dizzy. It's starting to go away." I say basically hugging her.
"Well I think Eliza might have made some dinner so once we get some food in you, I'm sure you'll feel better. Sound good?" She asks with my face in her hands.
"Yeah." I smile.
Eliza comes out to greet us and she tackles me into a hug first.
"You must be Lennox! I'm so glad you're here and that Lena found you. She's told us so much about you over the past 4 years. I love you already." She says hugging me tightly.
I sometimes forget that Lena has been in National City for this long and had to endure me being missing and not being able to find me. I'm not mad that people know the base of what I've been through, but it makes me ashamed and feel like I'm a nuisance sometimes. Lena is trying to drill it into me that I'm not, but old habits and thoughts die hard when they were literally beaten into you.
"It's nice to meet you too, Eliza! Thanks for letting me come stay and visit you. I'm glad Lena found me too." I say hugging her back.
Eliza hugs Kara and then Lena. I can see Lena melt into her hug like she does with Kara. She must really love Eliza. I can see why. She's the polar opposite of Lillian.
We head into her huge home and I look out the window and can see the beach. They were right, it's so much quieter here and so beautiful. Kara leads me up the stairs with all our stuff while Lena stays with Eliza and helps with dinner.
"This here little lady, is where Supergirl slept and spent a lot of her time. I shared this room with Alex, too. Which by the way, she and Kelly are joining us here tomorrow!" She says putting the stuff down.
"Your room is so cool, Kara!" I say looking around at all the stuff on her side and then to Alex's side.
"Well you can sleep in here if you want!"
"I'd like that." I say taking some of my stuff out.
We head back down the stairs and see Eliza setting the table and Lena washing her hands.
"Perfect timing, you two. Dinner's ready!" Eliza says smiling and leading me to my seat.
Eliza made really good roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, asparagus and a fruit salad. It was so much food but I was excited to try it all, even if I could only have a few bites of everything before feeling full.
"Thank you so much, Eliza. Everything was so good! I wish I didn't get full fast or I'd be eating as much as Kara is." I say giggling while Kara makes a face and tickles me.
"I'm glad you like it! It was Alex's favorite meal growing up." Eliza says while clearing the table.
"Oh let me, Eliza. It's only fair since you cooked!" I say standing up.
"Well aren't you just the sweetest. Thank you!" She replies kissing my head. I see Lena smile in adoration at my words.
Kara decides to help and wash the dishes as I dry them. Lena and Eliza are having some wine on the couch, chatting.
When we finish, we join them on the couch.
"So Lennox, how have you been liking living with Lena?" Eliza asks including me in the conversation. It's weird to have adults actually have a conversation with me in the room, let alone actually talk to me.
"Oh I've loved it! Lena has been so kind and has given me so much." I say shyly.
"Well it sure is easy to love you, Len. I love having you back in my life." Lena says pulling me into her from behind, placing a kiss on my head and resting her hands on my front. I think we both love physical touch which is amazing. Kara loves it too.
"Eliza, Lena and I actually have something to tell you." Kara says to Eliza.
"You two are finally together. I know. Alex called yesterday and told me. I am so happy this is finally happening! Took you two long enough!" Eliza says chuckling and Kara's face is red as well as Lena's.
"Oh great, so I guess Alex and Kelly know. I'm gonna talk to Alex when they get here." Kara says with embarrassment laced in her voice, while Eliza and I are laughing.
"Kara, don't be embarrassed. I'm glad you two are together! You both make me happy because you make each other happy!" I say getting off the couch to hug Kara. She smiles and takes me into her arms tightly. Then all of a sudden, she lifts me up in the air and puts me back on the couch and starts tickling me to the point where I can't breathe.
"KARA.....STOP!" I say laughing out of breath.
"I can't! You're just too sweet and cute and I love hearing your laugh!" She says basically on top of me, now smothering me with kisses.
"Haha, I love you Kara." I say hugging her for real.
"I love you too, little one." She says kissing the side of my head.
"Hey hey I want in on this!" Lena says and takes me into her arms while Kara hugs us both.
I can see Eliza with some tears in her eyes.
"Eliza, are you okay?" I ask making sure we didn't do something wrong.
"Oh yes, honey I am more than okay. I've never seen these two so happy. And I have you to thank. My mom heart is full." She says joining our hug.
"Hey why don't we take Lennox down to the ice cream shop by the beach?" Eliza suggests.
"Oh yeah! Len they have the best strawberry cheesecake ice cream." Kara says.
"Okay, that sounds good!" I say getting up to use the bathroom before we go.
We all put our coats and shoes on and start walking. I'm hand in hand with Lena while Kara and Eliza are in front of us, catching up about things they've been up to.
"Len, I just want to say how proud I am of you. You are so kind and thoughtful. You always manage to put a smile on everyone's faces you're around. I love that about you. I know it can be scary to try new things and go new places, but you are making strides and I am so happy to be able to witness it." She says wrapping her arm around my shoulder, kissing the top of my head.
"You make it so easy to be around people, Lena. I don't think I could do it without you there to help. You are what grounds me and lets me know I am safe. I still have a lot to unlearn from Lillian and Joe, but I'm lucky to have you and Kara to help me with it. Thanks for being so patient with me." I say looking up at her, smiling.
"Of course, my love. You deserve all the time to heal and recover from what you went through. Never think that you are an inconvenience or bothering us when you need help with anything, okay?" She kisses my forehead. "I love you, Lennox. You are my world."
"I love you too, Lena."
The store is so cute and beach themed. It's not too crowded which I'm thankful for. I've only had ice cream a couple of times and I can't even remember what it's like. Kara and Lena helped me choose which ones to sample. They were all so good I couldn't choose. Until I tried the strawberry cheesecake one that Kara first recommended. It was so good. I got a scoop on a cake cone and we went onto the sand to watch the sunset over the water. It was the most beautiful sight I think I've ever laid eyes on. I was in between Lena and Kara, leaning on Kara's shoulder. Being with them is my favorite thing ever. I am so happy to have a family who loves me and cares for me. Eliza is amazing and I really love her too. Nothing can ruin this moment.
It starts to get cold and we decide to head back. I am on Kara's back because she insisted on carrying me back to the house. When we get inside, the house is at a perfect warm temperature. I take my shoes off and head upstairs to take a shower and brush my teeth before I head to bed. I come back down the stairs where all 3 women are chatting with some wine.
"I'm gonna to go to bed. I love you guys. Thanks for the best day ever!" I say hugging Kara and Lena as they kiss my head.
When I hug Eliza, I whisper so only she can hear, "I love you, grandma. Thanks for everything." I feel her sob quietly and hug me tighter.
I head up into Kara and Alex's room and immediately fall asleep as my head hits the pillow.

Rager Teenager.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader, Alex Danvers x Niece!Reader, Kelly Olsen x Niece!Reader
Word Count: 2900.
Alex doesn’t even look shocked when she sees you landing in her backyard, dropping a bag of clothes loudly on the ground.
“Hey.” You greet her with a smile, looking at her standing in the doorway with a glass of wine in her hands.
“Running away, kiddo?” She points at the bag, but she means it like a joke. Let’s just say you were quite generous with the amount of clothes you packed. You could be leaving the house for a month, for what it’s worth. Yet, no one would actually think that you are running away from home.
“Yep.” You shrug it off. Her eyebrows are pinched together immediately. “Can I stay?”
Alex moves away from the door, giving you space to walk in. “Should I call your moms to let them know or-?”
“Nah, they’re aware.” You pick up your bag and make your way inside, passing her on the way in. “Hi, aunt Kelly. Where’s Jamie?”
“Oh, hi.” Kelly smiles at you from her wine glass. She then acknowledges the bag, pointing at it with her face. “Is that some big creation or something fun for you two to do?”
“Actually, just my clothes. I’m moving in.” You smile making your way to the stairs. “Indefinitely.”
“Oh. Sounds fun.” Kelly gives you two thumbs up, not looking as amused as she made it sound. “Your cousin is upstairs.”
“Cool. Thanks for letting me stay.” You say, making your way to Jamie’s bedroom to surprise her.
You are aware they didn’t exactly let you stay. Especially not ‘indefinitely’. But you know they would never say no to you, just like your moms would never say no to Jamie if she wanted to stay at your house. You also know that Alex is probably calling Kara right now, and that at some point tonight Kelly will try to assess how you’re feeling, claiming this is an open safe space.
It’s annoying that they’ll treat you like you’re the one that needs to talk about your feelings and understand them. You do understand what you’re feeling. You’re feeling like they think you should be ok with the fact that you don’t need their attention anymore. And of course you don’t need it. But you want it.
Your moms have always been your best friend. You tell them everything and you like that. You like the fact that you don’t have to be rebellious to get their attention, because you are the most important person in their lives, and you liked that feeling.
But well, now things are different. Maybe you need to change a little. Make a little trouble. Be a rebel rascal. A wild child. A rager teenager.
“Hey!” You drop your bag in a loud thud on the floor, making Jamie look up from her phone.
“I see you finally brought back all the things you borrowed from me.” She points at the bag with her eyes, and you roll yours in response.
“You wish.” You throw yourself on her bed, in front of her. “I’m actually moving in.”
“You don’t say.” She throws her phone to the side, looking at you with curiosity in her eyes. “Well, go on. Let’s hear it.”
You tell her everything and Jamie looks amused that the first time you’re throwing a tantrum is over something so dumb as not getting their attention. Says the girl who doesn’t pick up her phone at eight -not even in a life-threatening situation- because that’s her catch up time with her moms.
“So your big rebellious act is coming to my house?” You nod. “I would’ve thought staying with, I don’t know, Lillian Luthor would be far more dramatic.”
“Should I?” You ask out loud, but you’re actually talking to yourself. “No, right? No. That’s insane.” Is it? Yes, yes it is. “But I do have another rebellious idea in my baggage.”
Jamie zeroes in the bag you brought in. Sure the bag is big, but it doesn’t fit what you’re thinking.
“Not my actual bag.” You roll your eyes. “I meant my emotional baggage.”
“Oh, that’s a lot bigger than that one.” She agrees with her head, making her point. You look at the enormous bag on the floor of her bedroom.
“No, it’s not.”
“Hey, remember that time you almost died?”
“Which one?” You ask and she gives you a satisfied grin, like she is saying ‘touché’. Yeah, you guess she has a point.
“ANYWAYS!” You say, trying to ignore her. “Movies!”
See, it was kind of obvious that you wouldn’t be good at being rebellious. You never had to do this before. You’ve only seen it in movies. Ok, so let’s try what movies did. In Harry Potter, Hermione's big rebellious act was erasing her parents' mind. Huh. That you have the means to do. But no, that’s insane. Right? Right! Making your moms forget you is insane! Maybe you should think of rom-coms or teen movies. Hm, in ‘Mean Girls’ Cady throws a party when they’re parents aren’t in the house and dresses slutty or whatever. You can’t pull any of this off. Who would come to your party? How would you kick your moms out of the house? And you would rather die than dress slutty.
“Movies.” Jamie repeats, incredulous. “You know, for a genius you really lack basic information at times.” She says making you gruff. “You want to be rebellious? Steal Lena’s BMW, sneak out, go to a party, get drunk-”
“I can’t exactly get drunk unless it is alien alcohol.” You add.
“Steal alien alcohol.” She adds to the list, a little disgruntled that you made her lose her train of thought. “Make me go with you.”
“You’re literally giving me the idea.”
“Hmm, yes. Because I’m dying to go to this party Maya told me about, but I need plausible deniability. As in-”
“If your moms ask, it was all my fault?” You ask with an eyebrow raise and she agrees with her head. “Ok, fine. I’ll take the blame. But I think we can be more rebellious than that.” You give her a wicked smile. “Can you imagine how crazy it would be if-” You take off your glasses. “She went to a party?”
“WHAT!” Jamie sits straighter in bed looking equally terrified and excited. “No! You can’t have Superkid go to a party! She is a SUPER! Kara would absolutely kill you.”
“What’s the point of only pissing off Lena? I do that way too much already.” You throw yourself back in bed, thinking about it. “Besides, no one wants a Luthor in their party. Now, who’s going to say no to Superkid?”
“Ok, wait a minute. I-I-” You can tell you have made Jamie really confused when you leave her speechless. “Superkid doesn’t even exist anymore, and you want to bring her back just so you can go to a party?”
“Superkid doesn’t-'' You laugh, then furrow your brows. Holy shit, people still think you’re not supering anymore. “Oh, yeah, about that. I’ve been supering in secret ever since I came back from that other reality.”
“You-” Jamie’s mouth comically open wide like a cartoon character. “But-You-And then-I don’t get it.”
“See? That’s why I’ve been doing it in secret.”
Because how do you do it? How do you go back to being a superhero when you made such a big deal about not ever wanting to be a superhero ever again in your life? How do you unsay it?
Should you just come back home and be like ‘oh yeah, by the way, Superkid exists again, and you have to go back to worrying about me, Lena. And yes, Kara, you might have to go to outer space save me again a couple of times. No biggy. Good night!’
So you don't, right? You sneak in in secret instead. Pray you don't die on the job. Pray they don't find out. And mostly, you pray that you're doing the correct thing, because it's the righteous thing to do and not because you selfishly want that powerful feeling you had before.
“So for weeks you’ve been going around National City saving people and no one knew?” You nod. She needs to make sure. Jamie slaps your arm like you could feel pain. “You didn’t even tell me?”
“I’m telling you right now. Before anyone else.” She still rolls her eyes at you. “Come on, it’s a great way for Superkid to do her comeback. At a party, dancing with stupid teens.” Jamie looks unconvinced. “We can still take Lena’s car.”
“Why would we need it? You can just fly us there.”
“Yeah, I know. But it will piss off Lena.” You give her another wicked grin. “I’ll let you drive.”
“Yeah, ok, cool.”
Simple as that.
So it’s Friday night, Jamie agrees she will go to the party with Maya, and you told your girlfriend you were grounded. Yes, it’s a lie. But barely. You’re sure you’ll be grounded right after this, anyways.
It’s before midnight when both of your aunts say goodnight and go to bed. Kelly makes sure she schedules a ‘talking about your feelings’ session right on Saturday morning with you, before she leaves, though. Ugh, this won’t be fun.
You give them some time, then use your super hearing to make sure they are asleep, before you fly out the window and look for Lena. Like you suspected it’s Friday night and she’s made it back to L Corp, after you left home. Rao, you’re so mad.
You fly home and check for Kara’s presence. All clear. Must be tailing Arnold McKenan or running away from her problems. For someone so brave, you can’t believe how much of a coward she is when it comes to Lena. Rao, you’re raging.
You grab Lena’s car keys, your supersuit in their closet, and then pick the car up and drop off in front of Jamie. You love Jamie, and you know she drives better than you do, but still you fly behind her car the entire time to make sure she is safe. Damn the car, if it was for you, you would toss it in the ocean, it’s Jamie you care about.
“Holy!” Maya says, when she slides in the car. “That’s-wow! Did you steal this?”
“For sure.” Jamie smiles and drives off, leaving nothing but tire marks behind.
“Is that why Superkid is following us?” Maya asks, and you smile to yourself.
“Nah. She was saving a kitten and I asked if she wanted to come to a party. Now, she’s following the car.”
“WHAT!” Maya yells, sounding excited. “You’re joking! We’re going to a party with Superkid?” She gets nothing but a nod. “Holy fucking shit! I can’t believe my girlfriend won’t be there. Maybe we could convince her to sneak out?”
“Please. Do you even know your girlfriend?” You hear Jamie’s response. “She would never.” You scoff. “Besides, I don’t want to be third-wheeling all night. You guys are awfully handsy.”
“Yeah, well. She’s hot.” Maya says, making you smile even more. “Here. We’re here.” And so Jamie parks.
“Hi!” You open the car’s door to Maya, giving you her hand so she can exit the car. “I’m Superkid.”
“Of course you are.” She manages to say, looking red as a tomato.
“Your friend Jamie said it was ok if I came. I hope I’m not intruding on anything.”
“NO! No! Not at all. You’re more than welcomed. I mean, it’s not my party, but I’m guessing you will be more than welcome. I mean, who wouldn’t want Superkid in their party, right? So yeah you’re welcome! Anyways, you cool? I’m cool.” She rambles, making you and Jamie share a look. “Oof, I’m sweating.”
“Don’t be nervous.” You put your hand on her shoulder for a light squeeze. “I’m just a normal teen.”
She wheezes out a laugh. “I don’t know about normal.”
“More than you think. Shall we?” You point inside the house, and she agrees with her head. They fall a little behind you, and you can hear Maya whispering.
“Doesn’t she look awfully familiar?”
“Haven’t you met her before a few times?” Jamie saves you and you smile when Maya agrees, and lets it go.
Let’s just say going to a party as Superkid is on the top of the best ideas you’ve ever had. Superkid is a big hit. There’s even a line so people can take pictures with you. And they all love you. You’ve never felt so loved in your life. This was exactly what you needed.
It sucks that alcohol does literally nothing to you, but you still enjoy watching Jamie and Maya getting louder and flushed and talking nonsense to you all night. So this is what it's like to be a normal teenage girl? You’ll take it.
It is also very exciting that Maya can’t ever stop bringing your name up. The real you. Not Superkid. Not you in this shiny suit. The nerdy you that is apparently home, texting her so she can enjoy the party.
The night goes on and you don’t think once about Lena in her stupid office, doing her dreary paperwork, acting like that fucking company is more important than your family’s existence. You also don’t think about Kara in that stupid DEO, doing her dreary patrol, acting like the fucking world is more important than your family’s wellbeing. Or maybe you thought about it once or twice. But not as much as you would if you were home alone waiting for them. But hey, you shouldn’t be thinking about them! They sure as hell aren’t thinking about you right now.
“Shit, shit, shit.” Jamie says looking at her phone. “It’s mami! She probably noticed I’m not in my bedroom.”
“It’s ok. Let me see that.” You grab her phone. “I’ll take this up in the sky, so she doesn’t hear all the noise.”
“You’re going to answer her phone?” Maya asks, and you realize that it doesn’t make a lot of sense for you to be answering the phone of some girl you just met. Damn! Maya still makes sense even with all the alcohol.
“Oh. Um. I’m really good at impressions!” You say with a smile. But you can’t actually impersonate Jamie. You put both hands on your waist and look up. “Hope, help, and compassion for all.” Then you smile. “That was Supergirl.”
“It was perfect.” She says, and now the alcohol is probably doing the effect again.
“Ok! Gotta go!” You fly up and notice that a bunch camera flashes follow you. Feels good to be loved. “Heeeey auntie.”
“Where the hell are the two of you?” Kelly yells through her phone and you actually have to take it off your ear, because it’s too loud.
“Oh!” Think of something, come on. “We’re at-at the Fortress. I brought Jamie to help me look for this thing-”
“And none of you thought it was a good idea to let us know that? We were here thinking she was kidnapped!”
“By whom?”
“Well, I don’t know. It’s a new threat every day in this town! A few weeks ago you literally vanished from your bedroom one night!” Oh, that. What a cool funny story, that no one thinks is cool nor fun, except you. Kelly exhales. “Why didn’t she pick up the phone herself?”
“Oh! I think she got lost in one of the rooms.” You hate that you’re lying so much. You never once lied to Kelly before. What if she just knows? “Don’t worry, auntie. We’re safe, and will be back home in bed soon, ok? Go to bed, everything is ok. Goodnight!”
You hang up before she answers. Way to be suspicious. You come back to the party and see Jamie hyperventilating afraid of the conversation you just had.
“We should go.”
“Relax, I handled it.” You pick up another jello shot, putting on Jamie’s hand. “Chill, I’ve got this. No one will ever know.”
And when you make it back home and park Lena’s car exactly like it was parked -in all honesty Jamie couldn’t parallel park so you picked it up and put it in its place-, you think no one will ever know. And when you and Jamie sneak in her bedroom and go straight to bed, and none of her moms wake up, you are sure no one will ever know.
Wouldn’t it be nice if that was actually the case? But when you wake up the next morning… Oh, crap. Oh, shit. Oh, no. What are Kara and Lena doing here?

I AM SO SORRY FOR WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO READ.
Happy Birthday @goddessofmischief03 I'M SORRY THIS IS YOUR PRESENT FROM ME!
Part 8
The pair of you drove for hours. Zemo didn't care about where you wanted to stop. All you had to do was say the word and he would pull over here and there. You had taken so many photos on your phone. Though a lot of them were just of him. Maybe you would get those printed and make an album. Maybe you were just getting carried away.
The evening rolled in. The wicked woman had texted you an hour ago to state what time she wanted to meet you. Zemo had dropped you off, kissing you before letting you go. He left to meet with Sam, hoping to get his forgotten car back home.
You entered the bar. It was pretty empty, finding her wasn't hard. Lucky for you, she was alone. You took a deep breath as you walked over to her table and sat down, but not even offering her a smile.
On the table right in front of her was a file. That scared you. Whatever this was about, she was serious. You tried to keep your emotions at bay as you sat still, hands in your lap. You stared at her.
She stared back.
"You came," she said, almost as if she expected you not to.
"Of course I did, I'm not a horrible person who stands people up. Even if I'm here for nonsense."
She narrows her eyes at you.
"Neither am I."
"You're right. You're just blind," you cross your arms over your chest and ignore the waiter who brings you each a glass of water.
"I'm not the blind one," she hisses after he leaves.
"No? What kind of sick game are you playing here? Tony Stark isn't in love with you. It's all a publicity stunt."
"It's not!"
"See? You're blind to the truth. You're being lured in by the fact you admire him. You have been a fan of racing much longer than I. You have seen Stark win over and over again, season after season. You're in love with the idea of dating a professional racer."
She looks pissed.
"It's all lies. You know nothing. I'll show you who that man really is. Chasing Zemo is a mistake. You'll regret ever knowing him after you learn the truth."
"What truth? What are you talking about?" You try to resist raising your voice.
"This!" She slams a hand over the file.
"What is it? What's in there?"
She hands the file to you. You take it, but don't yet open it. You stare at her. On the outside you look cold, calculating. On the inside, your heart is racing and a million thoughts are running through your head. You're freaking out.
"What had Helmut Zemo told you?" She asks, looking you in the eye.
"About what?"
"About him."
"Not a lot. He is wealthy. Has houses all around Europe, owns a large collection of cars that have been passed down through his family. He doesn't have a large racing background, but he is passionate about cars." You shrug, not knowing what else to say.
"So he didn't you he was a Baron? That his family was literally royalty before Sokovia surrendered in the war? He wasn't even in the county when it collapsed. That's why he doesn't talk about it. His family is dead."
"Why are you telling me this? I know about Sokovia, it was global news. A whole country destroyed in the crossfire. If you have any respect for the dead, you'll stop talking about his family that way," you say, glaring at her.
"I'm not done. Open the file."
You glare a moment longer before you open the file. You look down at the first page you're presented with.
"Who is that?"
There was a photo of a young man. Dirty blonde hair, tall, blue eyes, sweet smile.
"That's Pietro Maximoff," she tells you that name as if you should know who he is.
"Who is he?"
"Pietro Maximoff was a racer."
"Was?"
"He died." She reaches across the table and points to some information below his photo. You can't the words on the page.
Pietro Maximoff
Deceased
Died on impact
Cause: Car accident.
Speculation of foul play by the hands of Helmut Zemo. Car appeared to have been tampered with before hand. Witness testified to sighting of Zemo tampering with car. No solid evidence provided.
You stared at the words, letting them sink in. The woman across from you says nothing as you scan the ink before you.
You swallow.
"It says no evidence was provided."
"There doesn't need to be. He was seen."
"Why who?"
"No one knows. They remained anonymous," she shrugs lightly.
"What are you trying to tell me?" You look at her. It was becoming increasingly difficult to hold back your emotions.
"Baron Helmut Zemo killed Pietro Maximoff because Maximoff was his competition. Zemo has raced before, but his career was cut short after this. Unfortunately there was no actual proof to pin on him, the witness only had their statement. Maximoff was the next big racer and Zemo dealt with him."
You stand abruptly.
"No."
"Zemo is a murderer," she tells you.
"Stop, please."
"He didn't tell you any of this did he?"
"You're lying."
"All the evidence is in that folder."
The tears fall. You shake your head and try to control your breathing. She's lying. She has to be.
"Stark told me everything. He even provided the information."
You shake your head again.
"I don't believe it. Why are you doing this to me? Is this your sick way of getting back at me? This is cruel. This is so cruel."
"It's the truth. You won't find anything by looking up the Baron, but if you look up Pietro Maximoff you'll find the story. Zemo killed a man so he could win. What's stopping him from doing it again?"
"Are you implying he would kill Stark? Are you insane?" You almost yell.
"He has killed a man before. What's once more?" She asks, angrily hissing out the words.
"Please don't do this to me," you plead.
"Read it. Accept it. It's true. They might not have anything solid on him, but you know as well as I that it's true."
You shake your head a third time.
"Look at it. Read the articles." She moves the file on Pietro over and underneath is a newspaper article.
Racing star, Pietro Maximoff dies in horrific accident
Baron Helmut Zemo disqualified from racing season over foul play speculation.
Helmut Zemo to stand trial
Baron Zemo walks free
"He wasn't found guilty of anything."
"I said it doesn't matter! He did it. Everyone knows he did it."
"You can't just give around accusing people of murder," you his quietly. You had sat back down, not wanting anyone to see your rage.
"Open your eyes."
"You don't know him," you say, voice falling to defeat.
"You don't know Tony Stark."
"I know him better than you." You close the file. "Do not ever come at me with this. Unless you have hard evidence that Zemo was there and had done what he was accused of, I won't believe you."
"You say that now, but trust me. You're going to come around," she gathers the file and stands up.
You watch her storm away.
You bite your cheek as tears fall. Taking out your phone, you search up Pietro Maximoff.
Zemo's name popped up several times.
He really has been accused of killing this young man.
Why did your chest hurt so much?
Maybe you should have asked him earlier when the thought crossed your mind.
You continue to sit at that table, ordering a drink mindlessly when the waiter comes over. It's all you have.
You look at the photo of Pietro on your phone. He had to be in his early twenties. Probably the youngest racer you had come across so far.
You sit there for ages, slowing drinking.
Your phone then starts to ring. You stare at the name lighting up your screen.
Zemo👑
Did you dare answer?
Having spent too long trying to decide, it clicks off. You stare at the screen. It lights up a second time.
Zemo👑
He must be worried. Yet, looking at his name flashing up on screen, dread fills you. Yob your phone, leave money for the drink, and make your way out.
The cold air of the night feels sharp and bitter against your skin. When did it get so cold? Or was that just you?
There was no one out here.
You're not sure if you felt glad about that. Your phone rings again. You know he'll be coming to pick you up, especially if you don't answer his call.
You swipe the call button and hold the phone up to your ear.
"Y/N? Thank goodness, you were not picking up. I was worried something bad happened. I'm on my way to you now, are you alright?"
You listen to his worried words. You stand there wondering who it was you were actually talking to.
"Y/N? Are you there?"
There is panic to his voice.
"Zemo..."
"Y/N? What is it? What's happened?"
You just knew he was picking up the speed right now. He was going to do anything to get to you now.
"Have you been honest with me?"
"What do you mean? Of course I have."
Lies. He is lying. That little voice in the back of your mind is repeating that to you. Lies.
You begin to cry.
"Who is Pietro Maximoff?"
Silence.
"Zemo, who is Pietro Maximoff?"
"How do you know that name?"
"Who is he?"
More silence.
You sob into the phone. His silence was an answer. He knew who you were talking about and your mind spiraled out of control.
He's dangerous. Stark was right.
You hang up. You turn your gaze down the street and decide to walk. You needed air.
Zemo was losing his mind. That wicked woman! What had she told you? Why had she brought that up?
When he realised you had hung up, he put his foot down. He had to get to you. He had to explain, he had to tell you himself.
He couldn't lose you. He couldn't.
This is not how he had imagined his night to go. Suddenly, things were falling apart.

Pt 2 Spooky x adoptive daughter
Tumblr media
Spooky's Pov
Me and Cesar are sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting on the doctor to tell us about Kiara. The ambulance got her to the hospital just in time and the doctors had to emergency surgery on her. I just pray that she be ok. I called Ray, Kiara's boyfriend Alex, and Isabel.
I told Isabel that I'll keep her updated while Ray and Kiara's boyfriend Alex are coming to the hospital. Cesar let his friends know what happened and said that they're on the way. I even called Sad Eyes's girlfriend Mia from a private number and told her to let Sad Eyes know that his niece has been shot.
Then Ray came running in the waiting room saying
"Is she ok?"
I sighed shaking my head saying
"I don't know yet, we're waiting on the doctor to let us know something"
Ray shook his head ok as he looked at me upset and asked
"What happen? Who did it?"
I looked down at the ground saying
"It happened so fast, me and Kiara was talking to Cesar in the house of how he was put off  and we was telling him that it's time to change his life around so he agree to come with us to Poland. So we decided to have a drink before we left , we went outside walking to the moving truck to get something to drink real quick and while I'm on the phone with Isabel and Cesar was in the house then we saw this car suspicious so I hung up the phone. Next thing you know, Kiara push me on the ground screaming look out as I hear gunshots go off. When the gunshots stop, I see Kiara on her back bleeding badly like my heart literally dropped to my stomach seeing her like that"
I looked at my dad upset fighting the tears that was trying to come out and said
"I can't lose my daughter, I can't lose her, she motivated me to get my life right so it can be right for her regardless if she's not my blood daughter, I love her with my whole life like this is a hurtful feeling knowing that my daughter is fighting for her life during surgery right now"
Ray put his hand on my shoulder comforting me and said
"I know, She's going to be ok, she's a fighter"
I sighed as I continue waiting for the doctor to get done with Kiara's surgery. Then Kiara's boyfriend Alex came into the waiting room along with Cesar's friends as Alex sat next to me saying
"Is she ok?"
I sighed looking at him and said
"I don't know yet, we're waiting on the doctor to let us know something"
Alex nods his head ok as we all waited for the doctor to give us an update on Kiara. Then after some hours, a doctor came into the waiting room and said
"Family of Kiara Diaz?"
We stood up from our seats as the doctor looked at us and said
"Who's the father of Kiara Diaz?"
I raised my hand saying
"I am"
The doctor looks at me and say
"The surgery went well"
Everyone sighed a breathe of relief as the doctor continue talking
"We was able to get the bullets out, luckily it didn't hit or damage any internal organs so she should have a speedy recovery" giving me a comforting smile.
I let out a sigh of relief looking at the doctor saying
"Thank you so much Doc, can we see her?"
The doctor gave soft smile as she say
"Yes, you guys can see her, she's awake and alert, Follow me"
So we all follow the doctor to Kiara's room.
Kiara's pov
I'm laying in the hospital bed after I just had emergency surgery looking at the tv that was on low volume while a nurse was checking my breathing and my pressure when I hear a soft knock on my door as the doctor that did my surgery pop her head in saying
"Kiara, you have some people they'll like to see you" as she open the door showing my dad Oscar, Cesar, my grandpa Ray, and my boyfriend Alex standing there. My dad, Cesar and my boyfriend walked over to me in a rush while the others came into the room. My dad gives me gentle hug being careful saying
"I'm so glad you're ok, you had me so scared when I saw you on the ground bleeding, what were you thinking?"
I looked at him as tears start to form in my eyes saying
"I couldn't let you get hurt, I just couldn't Dad, you literally worked hard to better your life after the gang especially when mom could give birth at any time, I couldn't let that be taken away from you like that, I love you so much dad.
My dad looks at me with tears in his eyes saying
"Oh mija" placing a soft kiss on my forehead.
I smiled as my dad said
"I love you so much even if you're not my blood daughter, I still love you sweetie. You're the reason that I better my life, you know that? I wanted you have a good childhood and live your dreams, I'm so glad to have you as my daughter" smiling at me
I gives him a soft smile as I looked over at Cesar who was trying not to cry, I grab his hand and said
"Don't cry Ces and don't even think about saying it's your fault cause it's not"
Cesar gives me a sad look as he say
"But it is my fault Kiara, you almost died today, I thought lost you"
I gives Cesar comforting smile saying
"I'm not going anywhere beside who's going to beat your ass in Call of Duty if I'm gone?"
Cesar chuckles as he gives me a soft hug and sat down in a chair.
Then Monse, Ruby, Jasmine, and Jamal came over to me giving me a soft hug being careful as Monse looks at me with a soft smile saying
"I'm glad you're ok Kiara, you scared us when Cesar called saying you got shot"
I give her a soft smile as I say
"I know, I know but I'm ok now"
I notice Ruby trying not to cry causing me to grab his hand saying
"Ruby, don't cry"
Ruby looks at me with tears in his eyes and said
"Kiara, we almost lost you today, you're like a sister to us, you even helped us get back to talking and being friends, you was there for us when we was feeling down. If you would've died, our lives would have been so terrible without you"
I gives him a soft smile saying
"I'm ok now, i promise I'm not going anywhere, beside who's going to keep you guys in check, my dad already had enough of you guys craziness"
Everyone laughed softly as I continue talking
"Well I'm ok now you guys head back home and get some rest for school tomorrow ok?"
They nod their heads as they gave me hug and headed home.
Then Ray came up to me giving me hug telling me that he was glad that I was ok and never to do that again cause I almost gave him a heart attack. I laughed softly telling him that it won't happen again no time soon.
Then my boyfriend Alex came up to giving me a peck on the lips holding my hand saying
"You missy scared me, I thought I lost you"
I lifted his hand placing a soft kiss on it saying
"I'm not going anywhere, I promise" giving him a peck on the lips causing him to smile.
I looked at Alex saying
"Oh Alex this is my dad's brother Cesar and my dad's dad Ray, Cesar and Ray this is Alex my boyfriend"
Cesar stands up looks at him and say
"Nice to finally meet you Alex, you better be treating her right"
Alex looks over at me smiling then back at Cesar saying
"I am, I wouldn't dare to hurt her, I love her so much to do that, She's the light to my universe."
Ray looks at him walking up to him getting in his face which made Alex nervous as Ray said
"You better treat her right or I'm coming after you, I will hunt you down and hide your body in abandoned building where no one will find you" causing me to gasp looking at Ray and say
"Stop, you're making him nervous see?"
Ray chuckles looking at him saying
"I'm just teasing"
Alex let out a breathe of relief calming his nerves down. All of sudden we hear a knock on the door as the door opened and walked in my uncle Antonio aka Sad Eyes. My dad looks at my uncle Sad eyes saying
"Antonio, what are you doing here?, you're going to get in trouble with the gang if you is seen with me"
My uncle Sad eyes looks at him saying
"Oscar you know we still care about her and make sure she's safe regardless if you're not in the gang no more" as my uncle walked over to me and said
"How are you feeling?"
I gives him a soft smile saying
"A little in pain but I'm ok"
Antonio nod his head as he looks at me and say
"I'm going to find who did this"
I looked at my uncle and said
"I don't want you to get in trouble, Uncle Antonio"
Sad eyes smacked his lips and chuckle saying
"You know I never gets in trouble"
I chuckled as Sad Eyes looks at me giving me a kiss on my forehead and said
"Don't scared me like that again, ok?
I nod my head yes as he gave me one more hug and left to head back home to let the gang know that I'm ok.
After the incident, Me, my dad, Cesar and my boyfriend Alex move to Poland for a better life.
Mom finally gave birth to my baby sister Lydia which was the best moment of my dad life like he was crying and everything.
Cesar is now in college for architecture, he ended up breaking up with Vero and started dating Monse again which Vero was mad at first but understand that he still had feelings for Monse and ended up dating Alex's best friend Lucas.
Then we had to go back to Freeridge because unfortunately Ruby's grandma Abuelita died which hurt my heart so we had a marijuana party in her honor instead a funeral which was her wish.
My uncle Sad eyes found out who shot at me and my dad which was 19th street (actually don't know who shot Spooky) and got revenge for it.
Cesar's friends does come to visit us when they get a chance and tell us how their life is going as well as college like Ruby forgave Latrelle for what happened a while back , Monse is going to write her first book, Jasmine is making clothes for and is a fashion designer and Jamal got a job at the best tech company.
My dad finally opened up his own restaurant which is getting a lot of attention now for his amazing food.
As for me and my fiancé Alex, we moved in together in this beautiful apartment couple blocks down from my parent's place.

The dean looked at the paper and said
"Next, Kiara Diaz"
I walked on stage towards the dean as I heard my family and friends cheering me on so loud.
I shook the dean head as he handed me my diploma, I looked at my dad who had tears in his eyes smiling which made smile and cry knowing i made him proud.
End of flashback↓↓↓
And so me and Alex went on to pursue our dream for music so we ended up doing performances at a little plaza downtown where music producer saw us and signed us to her label Star Dreams.
We became a singing duo called Whisper Hollow and went on tour around the world as our songs got number 1 on the music chart. We even got some awards for best music duo and album of the year and got to work with some amazing artist.
But my life got even better when Alex proposed to me on November 28 which was our anniversary.
Proposal Flashback↓↓↓
Me and Alex was at the beach watching the sunset on a little picnic blanket that Alex surprise me with.
Alex looked at me with a soft smile causing me to look at him confused saying
"What?"
Alex chuckled softly he said
"What? I can't look at my beautiful girlfriend"
I blushed hard as I give him a peck on his lips saying
"Sure you can" laughing softy
Alex smiles as he grabs my hand looking at me and said
"Kiara, there's something that I'll like to say"
I looked at him saying
"Sure, What is it?"
Alex got up from the ground pulling up with him as he looked at me and say
"Kiara, we've been together since high school, when i first met you, you was little shy to talk but opened up once you got to know me. You have brought so much love and joy into my life, I don't know how my life would've been if I hadn't met you. I love you so so so much and so that's why asking you this right now"
I looked at him confused a for second but gasped when I saw him get on one knee pulling out a box with a ring in it, Alex looked at me with a soft smile saying
"Kiara, you're everything to me. You are the light to my universe. You make my life feel complete so Kiara Nicole Diaz, will you do me the honor in becoming my wife?"
I looked at him with a soft smile and tears in my eyes and said
"Yes, Yes" nodding my head
Alex smiled getting up from the ground and put the ring on my finger as he gives a peck on my lips.

The first time he saw her was Freshman year during football tryouts. While he was on the field, trying to pay attention to whatever the coach was blabbing about, she was running around it. Her ponytail whipping around her head as her feet pounded against the red gravel of the race rink. She was a flash of pink and brown hair, but it was enough for Luke to become infatuated with her. He didn’t even care when he became the quarterback that year. All he cared about was her. He needed to know who she was and ask her on a date, even if it were the last thing he did.
The first time he ever spoke to her was a few days later, after their first game in Freshman year. She was sitting in the bleachers, cheering on the team, and Luke couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter as this beautiful girl cheered him on with every touchdown he scored.
After the game, she came down to say hi to Bobby, the team’s Running Back and the girl’s best friend. Luke knew this. He had seen the two of them together a lot during lunches and in the hallways, but never dared to ask the boy that became a friend of his too, what this girl’s name was or what her deal was.
But the fact that she came to say hi to him, gave Luke an opportunity to talk to her, too. “Hey, Bobbers, nice touchdowns,” the girl teased her best friend, who hadn’t scored any today. He did assist on some of Luke’s touchdowns.
“Oh, shut it, y/n,” Bobby muttered and shoved her in the shoulder. He turned when Luke patted him on the back as he joined the group. “Good game, Patterson,” he said to the floppy haired boy next to him. The boy who couldn’t keep his eyes off his best friend for one second.
“You too, Bobbers,” he repeated y/n’s nickname for her best friend, earning an eyebrow raise from the girl he’s been crushing for a week straight now. Even her eyes were captivating. The dark brown reflected gold in the setting sun.
“You making fun of my nicknames, Patterson?” she asked, one corner of her mouth tugging up into a smirk. The boy became a stuttering mess at the teasing tone in her voice.
“No, I uhm… I-I…” he scratched the back of his neck at a loss for words. “I’m Luke, by the way.” Y/N giggle reached his ears like a sweet lullaby. She shook her head at the boy.
“Oh, I know.”
Her straightforward reply haunted his brain for years to follow. He never knew what it meant but it became the thing that started a blossoming friendship. A friendship that made them the infamous ‘it-couple-that-wasn’t-a-couple’ by junior year. A title neither of you wanted, being in the ‘popular’ clique was already too much.
“Chicaaaas!” Luke called out as he and Bobby walked into the student lounge where y/n and Lydia, her best friend and captain of the cheerleading team, were having some tea and chatting about girl stuff -- as Luke himself liked to say. “Party tonight at Alexis Bryan’s place, are we going or?” he rubbed his hands together as if he’d just concocted the greatest scheme of all time.
Y/N smiled up at both boys and said, “Lyds and I were actually talking about having a sleepover tonight and making a puzzle together.” The two boys groaned and rolled their eyes at her answer. “What?” she asked.
“You sound like two grandmas!” Bobby exclaimed and ran his hand through his dark hair.
“Hey! No hate against grandmas!” Lydia exclaimed with a scowl on her face. Bobby raised his hands in defense before everyone turned to Luke, who was looking down at y/n.
“I don’t know, Luke… I really don’t feel like running into Matt tonight.”
“Come on, y/n. I’m literally nothing with my party partner in crime!” His eyes begged and pleaded, which was something y/n hadn’t quite learned how to resist yet. She’d tried to. Many a time. But she always had to give in eventually.
Even now. “Fine,” she said. “But you’re gonna have to promise to dance with me!” Luke rolled his eyes at the compromise, but couldn’t help the smile finding its way to his cheeks. No matter how hard it was for y/n to say no to Luke, it was twice as hard for him to say no to her.
“Fine,” he grumbled.
That night, as y/n took her scalding hot shower in preparation for the party, she reminisced over the past few years and how much her life changed since she started high school. Her mind wandered over the first day, when she clung to Bobby’s bicep because she was so scared of all the new things around her. She remembered how tiny and scared she felt, but all of that washed away when Bobby reassured her he wouldn’t leave her side. Only when he went to try out for football and she tried out for the running team. Then her mind jumped to the day she met Luke at the football game and how he immediately caught her attention. Ever since that day, her life had become this big-ass chaos. If it weren’t for Luke, she would probably just be part of the sprint relay team. But thanks to being so close to the quarterback, y/n was popular by association. Though, she wouldn’t change it for the world. What she would change was how all her dates had always been scared of Luke. All except for one. Matthew. He somehow managed to get through Luke’s and Bobby’s shield of brotherly protection -- as they called it. The two had been together for a few months until the whispers started. Whispers about Matthew cheating on y/n, or y/n cheating on Matthew with Luke. None of which was very healthy for the relationship, so they broke it off.
It would’ve been friendly if she didn’t see Matthew the day after their break up kissing one of her teammates. That’s when she knew the whispers about him weren’t just rumors. Even up until this day, she wondered if her sister ever had a thing with him, like the whispers suggested.
As her Ace of Base CD played on her stereo, she started to make a move-on with her outfit and makeup. She opted for a black body con dress with spaghetti straps that accentuated her curves in just the right places. For her makeup, she decided on a neutral look and swiped the light browny color across her eyelids.
By the time she started applying her mascara, there was a light tapping on her window. She turned around to find Luke on the small balcony at your window. He was wearing his Screams from The Attic band tee with the sleeves cut off and his trusty black jeans, decorated with the infamous chains and blue rabbit’s foot.
She opened the window door to let him in and turned to grab her shoes. “Hey, you re--wowza!” he cut himself off when his eyes took in every inch of the girl in front of him. A blush crept to y/n’ cheeks as she strapped the black heels on. “That’s a fly outfit, girl.”
“Thanks, Patterson. Let’s bounce, yeah?”
Luke climbed over the stone enclosure of the balcony and carefully let himself hang down from the bottom before letting go and landing gracefully on his feet. He whispered a ‘yes’ under his breath before looking up to find y/n climbing over as elegantly as she could. Though, with that dress on, she was about to flash someone and the lucky recipient of the little sneak peek was of course Luke.
“Is today a special occasion?” he asked. Y/N turned her head to look down at Luke while hanging onto the balcony for dear life. “You only wear red lingerie on special occasions.”
“Why are you looking down my dress, you creep?” The giggle that followed the words reassured Luke that she wasn’t offended by it. It was a typical thing to bicker about in their friendship.
“You flashed your knickers at me, Peaches, don’t blame me.” He held his hands up in defense, shooting her a sheepish look. Y/N scoffed at that and rolled her eyes before dropping down to hang from the balcony the same way Luke had done.
“You are so lucky I love you,” she mumbled and then screamed, “Patterson, think fast!” She let go, and hoped Luke would be fast enough to catch her since she wasn’t going to stick the landing on her heels quite as much as Luke did. Thankfully though, Luke’s fast reflexes made him move underneath her just in time to catch her, bridal style.
Their eyes locked for a moment, both of them suddenly realizing how close they really were. A smile made its way to y/n’s features and she leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek before flicking her legs out of his grasp and patting his chest twice.
“Thanks, buddy. That was like a crazy trust fall.”
Leaving Luke behind to reflect on whatever just happened, y/n skipped towards Bobby’s car and got into the passenger’s seat. She planted a kiss on Bobby's cheek and then turned around as Luke got in the back, finding two other boys she knew all too well.
“‘sup homies?” she grinned cheesily at the blonde and brunette she knew as Alex and Reggie. The two other members of Sunset Curve, the band Bobby and Luke formed when they met in freshman year.
The two boys smiled back at y/n while Luke gave her a glare, probably because she stole his seat in the front. However, y/n didn’t care or notice, for that matter. Her mind was wrapped up in something else instead.
“So, Alex…” she started, capturing the blond guy’s attention. “How was your date with Driss?” she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, and it sent a scarlet color up to Alex’s cheeks. Even though his parents didn’t care for his sexual orientation, he was glad his friends supported him, even if that meant y/n’s curiosity in his dating life.
“It was okay…” he replied humbly, but y/n wasn’t y/n if she let this slide.
“Where did he take you? What did you do? What did you wear?” she gasped, “Did you kiss?” The boys collectively chuckled at y/n’s antics. All of them had endured her searching for cute date stories.
“He took me to this really pretty lake where we had a picnic and we screamed into the dark,” he reminisced dreamily with a tender smile on his face. Y/N’s heart melted at the sight of Alex’s happiness. It was about time he got a happy ending too.
“Did you kiss?” she repeated her question.
Alex exhaled, a pout forming on his face as he said, “No… But! He did ask me for a second date tomorrow!” Y/N’s face lit up entirely as she clapped her hands giddily, making Alex laugh.
“I am so happy for you, Alex.” She reached out her hand between the two front seats, and Alex grabbed it, pressing a kiss to her knuckles.
The car abruptly came to a stop, causing y/n to lose her balance a little. “The hell, dude?” she asked Bobby, glaring at the driver.
“We’re here, so unless you wanna continue this little tea party, get out of my car!” Y/N glanced at the other boys, who were equally as confused about the boy’s sudden behavior.
“Someone needs to get laid tonight,” y/n muttered while she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of Bobby’s jeep, the boys following suit. She came to a halt in front of the house, looking up at the castle of a house. Music was thumping through the white brick walls and people were bustling about on the front lawn, smoking, drinking and talking.
“You ready?” Reggie asked, placing a hand on y/n’s left shoulder while another hand grabbed her right one. Looking up, she found Alex smiling down at her with that reassuring smile of his. When she felt another hand on her right shoulder and a kiss to the back of her head, she knew she was good to go. She had all her best friends with her. She would be fine, even if she ran into the devil’s spawn.
“If you wanna dip, just give us the sign and we’ll bounce,” Luke told her as he stood behind her. Slowly, but surely, y/n began to nod her head, mentally preparing herself for what’s about to come.
She'd made up a million of scenes where she’d confront Matthew, coming up with the wittiest comebacks she could possibly think of. The perfect monologue that would forever be stuck in her head since she was too much of a shy girl to actually say those out loud. She might seem like a clever, obnoxious popular girl, but deep down, she was still the little geek from Middle School at heart.
“Good to go,” she mumbled and started her way up to the house with Alex’s hand still in hers and the other boys safely surrounding her.
As they walked into the house, they turned a few heads and with it began the rumor mill, like it always did. There was always something to spill about the group, it seemed.
“Y/N!” a loud shriek brought y/n back out of her thoughts. When she looked up, she found Lydia walking up to them with arms wide open. As she hugged her best friend, y/n could smell the alcohol on her.
“Hey, Lyds,” y/n chuckled, “Been here long?” She pushed the strawberry blonde hair off her and took in her presence. She was wearing her lucky red dress with the plunging neckline, which was enough information for y/n to know her best friend was drinking for some courage to get a boy into her bed.
“About an hour,” she slurred, and then her eyes fell on the boys behind y/n. Another shriek deafened y/n as the girl stumbled into Reggie’s arms for a hug. The boy giggled, steadying the tipsy girl. Each on their turn, the boys handed the drunk girl off to the next, knowing she wouldn’t stop until she had hugged every single one of them. “So, what are we thinking, shots?” she asked as she leaned on Bobby’s shoulder for balance.
“I think you need some soda,” Bobby replied before grumpily grabbing Lydia’s hand and leading her towards the kitchen. Y/N’s eyebrows furrowed as she watched the two walk off. Something wasn’t quite right with her best friend, she just couldn’t place a finger on what it was.
“What’s gotten his panties in a twist?” she asked the others, who all simply shrugged.
Within the first ten minutes, the group was split up. While y/n was talking to her running team, Alex was occupied with Driss, Reggie was playing beer pong with some people and Luke was, unsurprisingly flirting with some girl.
Luke was notorious for his flirting with girls, so it didn’t surprise y/n too much when her eyes fell on the popular quarterback, surrounded by a bunch of cheerleaders. Though she had to admit, she loved it most when the flirting was directed at her instead of other girls.
When their eyes locked, Luke shot her a wink with that overconfident smirk on his face that made y/n roll her eyes. After blowing him a kiss, y/n walked back into the kitchen for a refill of her beer. If she was going to survive this party, she was going to need some more party fuel.
“Hey, y/n!” a familiar voice sounded from the other side of the kitchen. When she looked up, she found Astrid and Alexis Bryan, hostesses of tonight’s soiree. It was Astrid who’d called her name. Y/N raised her red cup at the girl as she made her way over to her, leaving her sister by herself. “How you doing?”
“Pretty good. Nice party you got going on here,” she answered, nodding her head to the dancing students in her living room. Astrid chuckled and sipped from her own beer while leaning against the counter.
“Yeah, it is pretty rad,” Astrid mumbled, “Though, we have to thank Alexis for that. Could never have done this myself, but she did, so…” A snicker left y/n’s body as she softly tapped her foot to the beat of the music and her eyes scanned the party.
“Let’s go dance, hm?” Astrid held out her hand for y/n to take, which she gladly did, and let the girl lead her towards the dance floor while sipping her beer.
It’s about time y/n let loose for once. She always used to get so worked up at parties, knowing Matthew was going to be there and she’d tell the boys she wanted to leave before it ever got any fun. But this time, she wasn’t going to let a boy ruin her fun. She was here now, she looked bomb and was having fun with some of the girls from her class.
“Y/N!” Lydia’s voice shrieked once more as she joined y/n on the dance floor with a red cup in her hand while the other landed on the back of y/n’s neck, pulling her in to kiss her on the cheek. “You know I love you, right?”
Y/N glanced over at Bobby, who was keeping an eye out for Lydia from a few feet away.
“I tried to give her soda,” he shrugged. Y/N rolled her eyes as an amused smile made its way to her cheeks. “It’s your best friend,” he added with his hands raised in defense.
Y/N reached out and grabbed Bobby’s wrist, pulling him into the group to dance. He was hesitant at first, but eventually gave in and sang along to the song at the top of his lungs while supporting Lydia in a dance.
Soon, Reggie and Alex had joined the group too, and y/n just knew tonight would be amazing. All she ever needed were her friends, some good music and booze.
“Having fun, sweetheart?” Y/N’s skin crawled upon hearing the voice and feeling the familiar hands on her waist. That amazing night did not include him.
She stopped moving all together and stepped away from him, only for him to pull her closer.
“Let go, Matt!” she yelled and tried to step away again. He twirled her around, leaving his hands firmly on her waist. His bright blue eyes looked down at her with that familiar smile of his playing at his lips. A smile that used to make her heart swell now felt like a violation.
“Ah, you still remember the sound of my voice,” he cooed. One hand came up to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear. “I’ve missed you, y/n. I know we broke up, but I realize now that it was a mistake. We’re perfect for each other…”
Y/N almost melted as the words reached her ears until she was reminded by the past they shared. Until she was reminded of what he’d done to her and how much it  had hurt. All the pain and sadness suddenly came back to her. She was feeling all of it again.
She took a step back, finally freeing herself from his claws. She said, “Don’t.” Her eyes were dark and angry, her face stoic. A whole new side of y/n Matthew had never seen before. As he muttered her name, he took a step closer, wanting to hold her in his arms again. “Don’t take another step in my direction,” she said, now a lot firmer than before. “Don’t ever think you can apologize your way back into my arms, Matt.”
The commotion had grabbed everyone’s attention so much so that even the music had stopped abruptly. Luke got up from leaning against the wall with a girl pinned against it, when he heard y/n’s voice raise, while her other friends perked up too.
“Please, y/n… You’re the only person I ever loved. You’re the only person I still love.”
Y/N scoffed at this and shook her head in disbelief while kissing her teeth. “Do you think I’m naive, Matt?” Matt looked up at her, pleadingly. “You really think I’d fall for your lies? After everything we’ve been through? After everything you’ve done to me?” She didn’t care who was watching, she needed to get the monologue she’d thought of in the shower out of her system. It’s now or never.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, y/n… I thought we broke up as friends?”
A collective gasp fell over the whole entire room, followed by the usual whispers.
“Yeah, we did. Until I found out you already had your tongue down Sam’s throat the day after. The day after, Matt! I know you were seeing her and so many other girls while we were dating. I hear the whispers too, you know? And I thought, I really thought you were speaking the truth when you told me none of the whispers were true.” Her voice wavered, but she took a deep breath and bit back the tears. She had to stay strong.
“Fine, the rumors were true, but so what, y/n?! The whispers about you were true, too!” The volume of his voice grows, his tone sharper, firmer. Back when they were dating, y/n got scared whenever the volume of his voice rose, but not this time.
Y/N shook her head, her tongue gliding over her teeth. “You hear whispers from people around you, saying I slept with Luke when you know damn well that Luke’s like my brother and we don’t look at each other that way. When you hear whispers, you have to scream and you’re screaming at me for being disloyal when the only one who was ever loyal in our relationship was me. I know about whispers, Matt. I saw the way you looked at my sister. At Alexis. At Amber. At Sam. So don’t you dare say I was ever the only one you loved. Because you, Matthew, don’t love anyone or care about anyone but yourself.”
Luke jammed his hands into his pockets as he listened to y/n’s words. Even though they hurt, he couldn’t help but feel proud of her for standing up to her oppressor. He watched as y/n said her final words before running up the stairs, leaving everyone confused and in a humble of even more rumors and whispers. Shaking his head, he followed y/n upstairs, finding her on the balcony at the end of the hallway.
“So, you finally did it, huh?” His voice made her jump slightly, but she calmed down straight away when realizing it was just him. “Your monologuing in the mirror paid off.” He went to stand next to her, leaning against the concrete enclosure.
Y/N wiped the tears away with the back of her hand, chuckling. Of course Luke would know she’d been practicing in her mirror. This had been brewing for a while and now that it was finally out in the open, lingering in the air in that living room down there, she didn’t know if she should feel relieved or scared.
“Hey,” Luke nudged her with his shoulder, shooting a small smile, “I’m proud of you.”
Her lips curled up into a smile before she wrapped both arms around his bicep, her head resting against his shoulder as she took a deep breath. “I can’t believe I said all of that in there,” she chuckled.
“Yeah, me neither,” said Luke and he pressed a kiss to her hair before laying his head down on hers. “Did you see Matt’s face though? He was genuinely scared of you just then.”
Y/N scoffed and let go of him, making her way to the small bench in the corner of the small terrace. “I doubt he was scared of me. What he was, was shocked because I never talked back to him whenever we fought.”
Luke turned around, but kept leaning against the fence, crossing his arms. “I’m glad you finally did. That asshole needed to know that what he was doing wasn’t cool. He needed to know that that’s not how you treat a woman.”
Y/N raised her eyebrow at him, leaning back on her hands. “And you know how to treat a woman.” Luke wasn’t sure if it was a question or a statement, so he didn’t answer straight away. He mulled over a good answer as he walked up to her, taking a seat next to her on the bench, their shoulders touching.
"You know how I’d treat a woman?” he asked.
“Please, enlighten me,” she replied.
Luke inhaled deeply before the words poured out of him like he’d been the one monologuing this in front of his mirror. “I would treat her like a goddess. I would build her temples out of words and love and affection. I would make sure she was happy and satisfied before my own needs were fulfilled. I’d write songs to her and she’d be my muse for my music. I would build empires of paragraphs, castles of melodies inspired by her. I would flood her senses with words and make sure she knew all of that was for her. I would build her a whole new world. I’d grant her a universe filled with words and music of love.”
Y/N let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. “Woah, Patterson…” Luke shrugged and offered her a shy smile before looking out into the dark night in front of them. “Careful or you’ll make me fall in love with you.”
“That’s the intention,” he muttered, but his words were overpowered by Lydia’s shrieking.
“Here you are!” she yelled, then turned her head to someone inside. “Bobbers! I found our love birds!” She turned her head to the two on the bench and smiled. “Come on, you guys! There’s a party downstairs! We need to celebrate y/n’s greatest victory ever!”
“We can dip if you don’t wanna go back out there,” Luke told her as she stood up.
“I think I’ll be okay,” she smiled thankfully at him before reaching out her hand for him to take. “Come on, let’s get jiggy!” Luke smirked before gently placing his hand in hers and letting her pull him up to his feet.
Together, the two of them followed Lydia and Bobby back downstairs to the party, their fingers laced together as they made their way through the crowd. As if on cue, the people started to whisper again as they passed, but y/n didn’t care. She had her best friends with her, she just stood up to her ex-boyfriend, and she found out her best friend was a feminist. There’s no better night than that. She was not going to let it get ruined by a few whispers.
For the rest of the night, y/n danced and partied with her friends until the sun came up again and it was time to head home. Like every other party night, the six of them ended up in Bobby’s garage. Luke and y/n snuggled up on his couch, Bobby and Lydia in a sleeping bag together, and Reggie and Alex spooning on an air mattress.
Can’t get more perfect than that.
New week, fresh start, people always said. Y/N used to think of it as bullshit, but this time around, she could actually feel it. She felt refreshed, as if a whole new world opened up to her. As if she’d started a new chapter, nay, a new book. One with a happy continuation. One without Matt.
Monday also meant practice after school. For all of them. The football team had practice out on the field while the sprint relay team ran around it and the cheerleaders practiced on the sidelines. It was the one extracurricular they did together without actually doing it together.
“Hey, y/n…” a voice she recognized as Sam’s made her look away from the boys on the football field. Her voice sounded ambivalent, which confused y/n as the girl would normally be chirpy and cheery.
“Hey, Sam. ‘Sup?” y/n gathered her long hair in both hands and tied it up at the top of her head with a bright pink scrunchie.
“I just--I wanted to apologize for what I did…” she mumbled, her eyes cast on her fidgeting finger. Y/N had never seen her teammate like this. The otherwise lively sport nut now sounded guilty and like the light had been snuffed out of her. “I knew you and Matt were together and I still let him…” she trailed off as though saying the words would make them true.
Y/N flinched at the mention of the boy’s name. She had hoped it wouldn’t have been brought up and besides the occasional whisper she’d caught during lunch, the objective had been quite successful. Until now.
“I really don’t wanna talk about him right now, Sam,” y/n muttered, and when she looked up at Sam, she knew she had to say something to ease the girl’s mind. “But this wasn’t your fault. Matt should’ve not tried anything with you. He was the disloyal one, he was the one that cheated on me, not you.” A teasing grin played at y/n’s lips when she continued, “You know, unless you’re gonna tell me now you doped yourself up for practice and are gonna make me lose.”
Sam worriedly looked up, but when she noticed the grin on y/n’s face, she immediately calmed down and couldn’t help but laugh.
She shook her head, “No, I’m no cheater.”
Y/N’s lips curled up into a smile as she grabbed Sam’s hand and squeezed it, letting her know the two are on good terms. Nothing should ever break up the team, especially not a boy.
“She's talking about you, y/n?”
Speak of the devil…
Y/N turned around to where the voice came from, finding a tense Matt in front of her. She should’ve known there was no way of avoiding him all day today.
“I knew you were lying to me. I knew you and Patterson were a thing and you cheated on me with him.” His voice resounded across the entire area, attracting everyone’s attention with the sudden commotion.
The football team stopped their exercise half-way, much to the coach’s dismay, and the cheerleaders broke up their human pyramid to find out what was going on. Luke, Bobby and Lydia were the only ones of each team to give incentive to the rest of the team to walk up to the ex-couple fighting.
“And you just kept on guilting me because I was the only one to be disloyal,” Matt grunted, shaking his head in disbelief. “I heard the whispers, y/n. I heard what happened the other night!”
Y/N’s eyebrows rose, unimpressed at his outburst. “What did you hear this time, Matthew?”
“You and Patterson getting dirty on the balcony at Bryan’s party!” he spat, and drops of saliva actually found their way to y/n’s face. She kissed her teeth before wiping her cheek with one forceful finger.
“Have you learned nothing, asshole?!” y/n shouted. She wasn’t going to keep her cool anymore. Ever since Friday, she learned that she was able to stand up to herself, no matter how scary Matt could get.
She stepped forward, erasing the space between the two as they stood chest-to-chest. Seeing this, Luke halted and averted his eyes. He thought this situation would actually give him a hand at finally asking y/n out for real, but it seemed like the two were about to make up.
“Didn’t you learn about whispers being just that, whispers? Nothing happened between Luke and me. Not when we were dating, not at Alexis’ party. And the fact that you even dare to insinuate I would be capable of cheating just shows once more that you don’t know me and you don’t care about me.” She pressed her index finger to his chest harshly. “You are a selfish, self-indulgent prick who doesn’t deserve all the wonderful women that have thrown themselves at you. You don’t deserve anything and--” y/n flinched as she watched his hand come up and two hands pulled her away from Matt.
“Patterson, stay out of this,” Matt growled. Y/N opened her eyes at the mention of her best friend’s name, finding him between her and her ex now. As she turned her head, Bobby was standing behind her, his hands on her shoulder.
Matt turned back to Y/N, the growl persistent on his face. “No,” Luke said, capturing Matt’s attention once more.
“No?” His voice was abrasive, a tone y/n had gotten used to over the years.
“No,” Luke repeated. He glanced back at y/n before jamming his hands into his trousers and looking at Matt again. Though Luke was a lot smaller than the broad, tall teenager in front of him, his confidence was twice the size of the other footballer. “Technically, you’re pinning me down as a home wrecker, so you pretty much pulled me into this yourself.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows at the new-found confidence. Luke was cocky and flirty around girls, but he’d never been this overly confident version of himself towards his teammates. It was refreshing to see this entirely different side from her best friend.
“Well, yeah, because she clearly did cheat on me with you. Why else would you guys be fooling around after her little outburst to me?” The overconfidence Matt normally carried had now washed away. He hadn’t seen this side of the quarterback yet either.
Luke let out an airy laugh, and retorted, “Yeah, well, see, that’s where you’re wrong.” He tilted his head ever so slightly, his green eyes looking up at the big, burly footballer. “There’s this misconception about our relationship, you see? Y/N and I are the best of friends, and I get it we’d look super hot together as a couple, but the sad truth is -- well, sad for me -- that Y/N has always been too busy being loyal to an asshole like you to see that. So, despite popular belief, y/n and I are just the best of friends and she deserves the world, more even, she deserves a whole-ass new universe. Which is something you can’t give her.”
Y/N stared at her best friend in awe. She had never seen this side of him but she couldn’t say she disliked it. In fact, there was this attractiveness about an overconfident Luke defending her against her ex-boyfriend. And reciting the words in her mind, she realized something she hadn’t seen before. Luke was in love with her and he’d tried to tell her so many times before, but she took it as harmless flirting.
Moreover, y/n realized she was in love with her best friend too.
“But you, Matthew McSomething,” y/n chuckled at Luke’s name dig at the Scottish boy, especially with the added bonus of an attempt at a Scottish accent, “You are too self-indulgent to even give her a fraction of a world. So, unless you can actually give her more than that, stay away from her…”
“Or what?” Matt snarled.
“I’ll put you on the bench for the rest of the season. And we all know you can only get the girls when you’re on the field, don’t we?”
Matt’s eyes widened at Luke’s words as the panic set in. Matthew McGregor was nothing on the bench. Even worse, he was less than nothing. On the bench, he’d get associated with Bruce Frederickson, coach’s nephew who was just there because he was family and not because he was actually good at football.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” Luke murmured and then turned to the coach, who, too, had joined in the drama. “I think we can hit the showers now, can’t we, coach?” The tall man nodded his head slowly, unsure about what had just happened to his star player. He’d only ever got this confident on the field, never off. Even the coach knew that.
As all teams dispersed, y/n grabbed a hold of her favorite cheerleader’s arm, pulling her aside while Luke and Bobby walked away. They didn’t even notice y/n’s panicked rush.
“Lyds, I think I’m in love with my best friend,” she whispered. Her eyes were wide, her tone hurried and filled with panic. The strawberry blonde’s lips curled up into a grin as she patted her best friend’s hair.
“Oh, we know, sweetie…” she said, confusing y/n even more, “It’s about time you admitted it.” Y/N rolled her eyes and shook her head as she anxiously played around with the friendship bracelet around Lydia’s wrist.
“I’ve been dreaming about my knight in shining armour since I was ten, Lyds. I never thought I would find it in my best friend. My best friend, Lydia!” The girl let out an endeared laugh as she tucked a flyaway behind the other girl’s ear.
“I know, sweetie.” Her hand landed on y/n’s cheek and her thumb gently swiped across the skin. “Now, go! Tell him!”
“Yeah! Right! Right!” she vigorously nodded her head, but she didn’t move a muscle.
“Y/N… You’re gonna have to move if you wanna go and talk to him.”
Y/N opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out, so she shut it again. “Right, yeah…” she swallowed a lump as the fear sank in. She had never had to tell her best friend she had feelings for him. All of this was new to her. How does one even confess that?
“Sweetie, you can do this, okay? Just follow your gut.” Lydia’s tone was stern, but it was exactly what y/n needed to hear. “Like how you don’t calculate your moves on the track, but you just go! Like Gail Devers!” The mention of y/n’s absolute favorite athlete made her look up.
“Gail Devers was actually very meticulous,” she corrected her best friend’s metaphor.
Lydia deadpanned, “Not the point, y/l/n.” She placed  her hands on y/n’s shoulders and turned her around, pushing her towards the field. “Now go! Shoo!” She waved her hands in a dismissive manner, and after one more hurried look, y/n sprinted across the field. “Atta girl!” she heard Lydia yell before making her way into the school, through corridors until she reached the boy’s locker room where Bobby had just walked out of.
The boy glanced at her, and when he realized what she was there for, he nodded his head towards the closed door, giving her permission to go inside. He said, “He’s the last one in.”
Y/N kissed Bobby on the cheek before opening the door. She was met with the stench of sweat and deodorant, but it didn’t phase her. Not today. The girl was on a mission.
She weaved through the rows of lockers until she found him standing near a bench, zipping up his trusty black jeans, shirtless. Her eyes scanned his entire physique from head to to toe until she realized she was actually checking out her best friend in a way she hadn’t done before.
“Y/N?”
For a second, she tried to calculate her next move, but then decided to throw it all overboard, and instead marched up to him. She grabbed his face with both hands and brought him down to meet her lips. His breath hitched in his throat before melting into the kiss and bringing his hands up to her waist, pulling her closer into him.
“Give me that whole-ass universe,” she muttered as they pulled away to come up for air. Luke huffed, a relieved smile pulling at his lips. This was what he’d been dreaming of for so long; kissing her, holding her, cherishing her.
“I thought you’d never ask,” he replied before kissing her again. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for ages,” he added, his words disappearing into her mouth.
“Oh, I know.”
With the same words their friendship started, started a whole new chapter in their lives and their relationship. Everything would change now, but neither of them cared. They were granted a whole new universe.

Truth Or Drink
Summary: You and the caps play a game of Truth or Drink
Warning(s): Smut, Fowl Language, Alcohol
Tumblr media
Jakub Vrána invited me to a little team get together as his plus one and that’s what I’m currently getting ready for.
“Are you gonna pick me up?” I asked Jakub as I pull my dress down over my body, “No. Braden will be, is that okay?” He asked me.
I nod, “I don’t really know him too well, but yes that’s fine.” I say and he grins, “Good, I’m glad.” He says and I smiled.
“Well you can tell him to be on his way, I’m done.” I said and he nods, “K just texted him.” Jakub says and I nod, “Alright, thanks.” I said and he nods.
I hung up on Jakub and sat outside my house to wait for my ride, I saw a black BMW pull up and I saw it was Braden because he rolled the window down.
“Hey, Y/n.” He smiled widely, I smiled too and wave to him. I pick my things up, I walk to the car and get inside, “Hey, Braden.” I say and he smiled.
He turns the radio down, “You were jamming.” I tease and he shook his head. “Yeah I was.” He joked back and I smiled.
“So are you excited?” He asked, “Well I get to see all of my besties, so yep!” I say with a laugh, “That’s cute that you formed a little friendship with all of them.” Braden smiled.
I nod, “Yeah, but you never talk to me sir, or I’d be your bestie too.” I grin, “I get nervous around you.” He says.
“Nervous? Around me? Why?” I asked with laughs inbetween each question, “Cause you’re super pretty and intimidating.” He laughed.
I smiled, “Such a sweet boy.” I say and tap his hand, he blushed and we drove to Tom Wilson’s house.
“We’re here, Y/n.” Braden grins and I nod, I get out the car and walk inside leaving Braden behind cause I was so excited.
I walk in and leave the door open, but run back to the backyard. “Baby!” I yelled when I saw Jakub, “Hey, hunny!” He says and hugged me.
“Where’s Braden, bae?” Jakub asked, “Right here. She couldn’t even wait.” Braden says and I cover my mouth, trying not to laugh. “Sorry, bud.” I say and he grins.
I look at Tom, “Hey, Tom, where is the beer?” I asked with a smirk. He looks up from his phone and smiled, “Yo, Braden, go show her.” Tom says.
“Let’s go.” He smiled and I follow him inside Tom’s house, “We should all play a game, it’ll take us back to youth years.” I chuckled.
He rolled his eyes, “Y/n, shut up, you’re literally 21 years old.” He laughed. “I know, but I feel old.” I said in a ‘duh’ tone.
“Oh my gosh.” He laughed and hands me my beer, I smiled as a thank you. I walk back outside and Braden comes out like 1 minute later.
I walk over to a chair, but Tom stands up. “Have my seat, Y/n.” He smiled and I sat there, “Thank you.” I smiled and he nods.
“We should all play truth or drink!” I gasped out, the guys all laughed. “I’m serious, don’t you old men want to feel young?” I asked with a shit-eating grin on my face.
They all make a groaning sound, “Fuck off.” Alex says with a chuckle. “Oh shut it.” I say and they grin, “I say let’s play.” Jakub shrugged.
“See, that’s why you’re my favorite.” I said to him and all the guys scoff, “Fine, we’ll play.” Tom says, crossing his arms.
I clapped and sit on the grass, “Ok, I’ll start. Jakub, if you had to kill one person here who would it be?” I asked him.
“I’d kill… Tom.” He says and we all laugh, “Awe fuck off.” Tom pouted and I rubbed his bicep, “You’re okay, Tom. I’ll protect you.” I teased and he laughed.
Braden looked at us, but I didn’t think of anything of it. “Okay, Y/n, if you could fuck any of us here, who?” Jakub asked with a smirk.
“Come on, Y/n, don’t be a pussy and tell us!” Alex says and I stuck my tongue out at him, “I’d fuck…Braden.” I grin and look at him.
He looks at me and lets out an awkward breath, “Okay.” He just says and I looked away, “Who’s next?” I asked.
“Braden.” Tom says, “K, Braden, truth or dare?” I asked him. “Dare.” He says, “I dare you to kiss me.” I grin.
The guys holler and Braden awkwardly chuckled, “Okay.” He says, “Okay?” I asked with a smirk, he nods and grabs my face and kisses me slowly.
“Mwah.” I say as we pulled away from this kiss, he chuckled and then looks back at the group but we kept looking at each other through our peripherals.
Time Skip
We all got bored from the game so the guys started a fire, I lean back in my chair and sip my beer. “Thank you, boys.” I said to them.
“For what?” Tom asked with a laugh, “I was having a real shitty week and this made me feel better.” I said to them, “You’re always invited to stuff like this, Y/n, we love you.” Tom says.
I smiled and looked down, I look back up and caught Braden staring at me. “What?” I mouthed with a smirk, “You’re super gorgeous.” He mouths back and I blush.
“Thanks.” I mouth again and he just tilts his head in my direction, “It’s cold.” I shiver and cover my goosebump-covered arms. “Take my jacket.” Braden says and hands me his hoodie.
I smiled at him, “Thanks, bud. Aren’t you cold now?” I asked him. “Don’t worry about me, Y/n.” He says and I just smiled.
“Sit next to me?” I asked him, he nods and pulled his chair in the empty space next to me. I lean my head on his chest and look up at him, “Is this okay??” I asked him.
He laughed, “Of course!” He says and leans down to kiss my head. “Okay, good.” I winked and look at the guys touching the fire with individual sticks.
“I really like you.” Braden whispered in my ear, i grin at him. “I like you more.” I winked and he sighed.
I look at everyone, “I’m gonna go inside to get warm.” I told the guys and they nod. “Y/n, there is a blanket on the couch.” Tom says and I nod.
“Thanks.” I said and walked inside, I grab the warm blanket and turn on the Tv. It was KUWTK and I scroll through my phone.
I heard the screen door pull open and then get closed, so I look up and saw Braden was coming inside.
“Care if I join you?” Braden asks me, “Go right ahead.” I giggle and he puts some of the blanket on him and scoots close to me.
I look up at him and smiled then continued back to my phone, “What’re you doing?” He asked me.
“Scrolling through Instagram.” I said to him and he nods, “Y/n, this might be a weird question. Can I kiss you?” He asked me.
I close my phone and look at him, “You wanna kiss me?” I asked him. “Of course.” He smiled and at me.
“Okay.” I say and grab the sides of his face while he grabs my chin and pulled me into a chaste kiss.
We continue to have our hot makeout session and I pulled myself onto his lap, “Let’s go to Tom’s room.” I winked and he nods, picking me up and carrying to Tom’s room.
Jakub’s POV
“Where is Y/n and Braden?” I asked the guys since they weren’t on the couch anymore. “Probably upstairs fucking.” Alex says and Tom made a disgusted face.
I laughed, “If they are fucking on my bed. I will kill both of them, I swear to god.” Tom says and everyone just laughed.
“It’s cute.” I said and look back at the fire, “No it is not. I sleep on that bed, peacefully may I add!” Tom says being dramatic.
All of us rolled our eyes and continued with our conversation that we were having earlier.
back to your pov
“You’re so beautiful, babygirl.” Braden says, admiring my naked body. “Thanks, Braden. You look so handsome.” I grin and run my hand down his toned body.
He kissed my neck and created dark hickeys, I moaned softly and made small scratches down his back.
“Does Tom have condoms?” I asked him, “In his night stand, maybe?” Braden says and I reach over and open the drawer.
I smiled, “There we go.” I winked and he rolled it onto his dick. “Fuck me.” I said to Braden, he leans down and pecked my lips before putting his tip at my entrance.
“Can I put it in?” He asked me, “Yes.” I say and tighten my grip on him as he slowly pushed inside of me.
I let out a soft moan, “You can move.” I say and he slowly starts thrusting in and out of me. “Fuck.” He grunts and starts going faster.
“Baby.” I moaned and he started to buck his hips faster. “You’re so wet.” He says to me and leaned down kissing my neck.
I tried to get more friction by rolling my hips from under him and he grips my thigh, so they stop moving.
“You’re a sexy girl.” He said and I make a whine noise, “Harder.” I said and he listened to me, he started railing the fuck out of me.
The bed hitting the wall, our skin slapping, and our moans were the only thing heard in the room.
“Braden, I’m about to cum.” I say when I felt the familiar build up form in my stomach, “Me too, babygirl.” He says and I pulled him into a sweet kiss.
I reach between us and fondle his balls, as he added pressure to my clit. “I’m cumming.” Braden grunts and I felt the inside of the condom get warm.
“Fuck, me too!!” I moaned loudly, “I love you.” I moaned as I came too. He fucks us through our highs and when we came down from our euphoria he pulled out and threw out the condom.
He laid next to me, “I love you too, Y/n.” He grins and I laid my head onto his chest. “I’ll take you out tomorrow.” He says to me and kissed the top of my head.
“Okay.” I smiled, then there was a loud knock. “You guys are assholes for fucking in my bed!” Tom yelled and we both laughed as we slowly drift into a sleep.

Lost Time // Luke Patterson
Summary: Things changed since Sunset Curve fell apart literally as three out of four members died before a gig. Leaving a sad girl behind Luke by chance runs into the reader with someone else. Death tore the couple apart, and time can’t fix this.
Warning: Talk of death, depression, angst and fluff
Words: 2.2k
Might as well join the Julie and the Phantoms fan club!
*For the sake of the story the time frame has been altered, it takes place in the mid-2000s. Also! I tried to make the reader as generalized as I could to make sure that everyone can relate. The reader is Alex’s sister, for inclusion that can be biological, adopted, half or stepsiblings. I want to make sure all people can be the reader.

The 1990s was definitely some of the best years of your life watching your brother grow more comfortable in his identity. Alex had kept his sexuality secret, taking the frustration of the secret by learning how to play the drums. You would often be found curled on the chair listening to his growing talent; Alex was a great brother.
Alex found friends in three local boys Reggie, Bobby and Luke, even a little more than friends with Luke briefly. By 1991 the boys had formed a band Sunset Curve with each other and a loyal fan in you. By mid-1994 the band had a fanbase and some gigs, but playing The Orpheum was the goal.
Luke had admitted to Alex, he had feelings for you, and with a lot of encouragement from Alex, he approached you. Luke had been focused on music since his parents gave him his first guitar, so relationships weren’t even on the backburner.
“Hey.” Luke spoke, pressing a kiss to your cheek backstage, “Missed you.”
His hair tickled your skin, bringing a bright smile from the teenage boy and a deep blush from you, private time wasn’t as often as it once had been. After Luke’s fallout with his parents a few months back, he had couch surfed between Reggie and Alex’s rooms; he wasn’t allowed in yours.
“You saw me last night.”
“A monumental time.” Luke bent his bend to place a lingering kiss on your bare shoulder, his jacket having fallen down, “Three years together and a bright future ahead.”
Last night had been the third anniversary of your relationship and hopefully the previous night worrying on parents walking in, cheap dates Luke often felt guilty about. Luke knew in his bones playing The Orpheum tonight would open the door to a legendary future. A future where money wasn’t tight and he could you on dates he deemed acceptable for the love of his life.
Bobby voiced brought Sunset Curve’s lead singer back to that moment, you dropped from the stage to settle in the empty audience to watch the soundcheck. With a wink from Alex, he started making the beat to Now or Never, you beamed as they poured their souls into the song. The four were talented and made to be in a band together even if you didn’t really like Bobby.
Cringing at the awkward wink Bobby sent you turned on your converse to head to the bar for a glass of water. Thanking the bartender, you tuned out the conversation with the waitress and the band only jumping when arms wrapped around your waist.
“We’re getting street dogs.” Luke spoke, bringing your body to rest on his chest, “Do you want one?”
The thought of those street dogs honestly horrifying given they were cooked in some random guys car. The one time you tried, it had permanently tattooed the taste in your memories forever, and just remembering was vomit-inducing.
“I’ll pass.” You wrinkled your nose, turning to wrap your arms around his neck, “I don’t know how you guys like those.”
“Tradition.” Luke shrugged caressing your cheekbone with the pad of this thumb. Gazing at features he wanted to wake up to for the rest of his life, “Still down with the plan?”
“The minute I’m eighteen, we go to the nearest chapel.” You grinned playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, “I’ll be waiting Rockstar.”
Luke pressed a long passionate kiss on your lips, pulling away to jog over to Alex and Reggie waiting at the door. Bobby having declined the street dog invitation to flirt with the waitress Rose. Alex waved before the door closed. Little did you know that would be the last time you saw them alive.
1995 was the worst year of your life. 1996 was the hardest, especially with the forever reminder of your love. You wouldn’t trade 1996 for the world however, only wishing for one change.
Tumblr media
Los Angeles, 2004
Alex, Reggie and Luke had learnt a mere few days away from that life had drastically changed forever. Firstly, the three boys had died from eating the street dogs mere hours before performing on the stage of The Orpheum. Secondly, it was no longer 1995 but instead nearly ten years had past bringing the three ghosts into 2004.
The most jarring wasn’t being able to be heard playing music with a random girl named Julie but that the most constant part of the band no longer was there. You hadn’t died that night, and Alex was pretty sure you were still alive. Luke felt lost waking up without you beside him and the deep regret of not reconciling with his parents.
It would be a week before Luke would swallow his pride enough to orb himself into his unchanged childhood home. Emily, Luke’s mom, was in the well-worn chair knitting a scarf Luke recognized as his favourite colours. Mitch was in the kitchen, putting the groceries away. It was heartbreaking being invisible to his aged parents.
“Hey, Mom.” Luke sniffled sitting on the couch nearby staring at his silent mother, “Sorry for not visiting sooner.”
Tears welled up in the boy’s eyes feeling hopeless, not being able to ease his parents’ pain, the regret and guilt bubbling to the surface.
“How is Y/N? I bet she’s living in New York of London now. We promised to travel the world together. Part of me is guilty of wishing she had eaten a street dog that night so we could be together.” Luke sobbed, wrapping his arms around his midsection reminiscing on the beautiful girl he had unwillingly left.
“Hey.” Mitch spoke, kissing his wife’s forehead. Her eyes closing in contentment.
“I wonder if you know where Reg and Alex’s parents are. Reggie’s neighbourhood was torn down who knows when. It makes me scared to see if Alex and Y/N’s parents still have their place. I don’t think so. They lost their son.”
“Hey Luke.”
Luke glanced over his shoulder to see Alex at the door, reluctant to impose of Luke’s privacy.
“Yeah.”
“We’re rehearsing.” Alex spoke, smiling as the other teenager took one more wistful look at his parents before orbing out of his house to the Molina family’s garage. Minutes later, the front door opening and feet thudding brought the noise to the Patterson home.
“Grandma!”
A four-foot blue of green and black blur covered the room in seconds nearly sprawling Mitch to the floor. Why was that 1996 year difficult? Well, ’95 was when Sunset Curve tragically died, and a stick changed your life. ’96 was spent going through the last five months of pregnancy without Luke.
October 1995
You kept your lips pressed tightly together, unable to look at the smooth, shiny mahogany rectangle surrounded by flowers. Looking up meant the reality kicking in. Funerals sucked. Especially the third funeral in the last handful of days. It was surreal thinking that one week ago you had kissed your boyfriend and hugged your brother and now they were dead. Gone. Not even a goodbye.
“Are you okay?” The broke voice asked, gaining your attention. Swollen red eyes matching yours held unimaginable pain. While the last few months had been icy with your parents, it didn’t mean losing one of their kids didn’t sting.
“I will be.” You whispered clasping your hands over the scratchy black velvet dress, one you had worn three times too many.
The sobs broke out seeing the best picture Alex had taken in his life, it encapsulated his best features; his beaming smile and kind, caring eyes. Alex was gone. Your brother was gone because he ate a bad hot dog with his friends. You would never see your boys again. Never feel Luke’s skin or share a laugh with Alex or complain about things with Reggie. You wouldn’t get to meet in the chapel with Luke wearing second hand ‘fancy’ clothing. In one night, your life changed.
It changed further seeing the two lines on the test later that night. The heartache growing. The baby you carried would never meet his uncles and his Dad. Would never hear them play or learn to play. ’95 and ’96 sucked ass.
You sighed, closing the door to follow the rambunctious ball of energy into the living room where he entertained Mitch and Emily. Some days it was difficult to stare into the green eyes he inherited from his father.
“Benjamin Lucas.” You spoke crossing your arms, meeting the gaze of the eight-year-old boy, “What did I say?”
“To not runoff.” Ben quietly replied, playing with his hands. His messy brown hair, in need of a trim, falling into his eyes, “Sorry Mom.”
“Please don’t do it again.” You gently told the little boy elated as he quickly found the toy box in the corner of the room.
Ben was loved deeply by Mitch and Emily, who had stepped up when your parents made the decision to sell your childhood home. Wanting Ben to know his paternal grandparents, you had struggled to find an apartment and job to say in the neighbourhood. Since the baby was the last part of their son, the Patterson parents’ had welcomed you into the home where you stayed until Ben was two.
“Do you want us to come around for Luke’s birthday?” You questioned sitting on the love seat, the same love seat you had made out on with Luke many times during movies.
The room turned sad at the question and reminded that for the ninth year, you would celebrate Luke’s birthday without him. A day where Ben wouldn’t fully understand. Emily simply nodded her head.
“Have you met anyone?” Mitch asked, leaning over to clasp his hands together. For the last few years, they had been pushing you to date. They wanted your happiness and for Ben to have a father even if Luke couldn’t be it.
“Mama can we stay here tonight?” Ben’s innocent voice cut the tension, saving you from answering the question again. Mitch and Emily each nodded their heads at the question, unable to tell the young boy no.
“Have you ate?” Emily asked, turning to look at you in concern. The chuckle left your mouth at the question she frequently requested, she missed cooking for more than two.
“We had pasta before we came.” You replied, turning to gaze out the window to the dark sky, “I should put Ben to bed.”
The soft whine from your son and denial was a nightly routine and very much a mirror image to Luke’s character as well. With a smile, Emily held out her hand to her grandchild, she was notoriously the only one able to get Ben to sleep fast.
 “Come on Bug.”
It seemed the universe was keeping Luke from seeing you and discovering Ben, but when that night came, he was shocked. Emily was curled up on the patio couch, watching Ben in the newly bought sandbox. The patio doors opened. Inside, Mitch had invited a stranger who knew his son into the house.
“I think I heard the doorbell. I’ll be right back.” Emily called out to you. You had found shade under the tree reading a new book.
The soft cry had you up and running to Ben before you even realized, on his knee was a bleeding wound. You had already scooped the boy into your arms to quickly get into the kitchen. The moment your foot stepped into the home, the sound of a familiar voice and song filled the house.
Gently placing Ben on his feet, you followed the sound to the living room. Across the room behind a young girl stood a boy.
“Luke.” You breathed floored at the sight of the teenager who looked exactly like he did back in ’95. The ghost singing widened his eyes at yours, taking in the mature features and change of fashion.
He continued to sing the song Unsaid Emily he had written as an apology to his mom following the last big fight. The song he never got to show her. His voice faded as the ending of the song came around.
“Mama!” Your attention broke from Luke’s when a tiny hand reached for yours. The pain in his voice bringing you back to the most important part of your life, “It hurts Mama.”
Despite being sad, Mitch was the one to cross the room to lift the little boy into his arms. Placing the little boy on the counter, the man gently wet a paper towel to wash the area.
“I think he needs stitches.” Mitch sighed, furrowing his brows.
“Who is that?” Luke asked the Molina girl. The girl shrugged taking in the features she could recognize. Julie asked Emily.
“That’s Ben.” Emily beamed, looking over her shoulder at the little boy that filled the void of Luke’s death. It didn’t fix the wound or erase the pain, but Ben’s existence helped with the loss as he was a precious gift, “When Luke passed away his girlfriend Y/N found out she was pregnant with Luke’s baby.”
The choked sob fell from Luke’s mouth echoed by the thud of his knees, hitting the floor in the pure shock. The heartbreak painted so clear Julie was sure she could feel Luke’s agony.
God, why did Luke have to eat that fucking street dog. Fuck his band dreams. Nothing hurt as bad as finding out about Ben and Y/N having to be a single parent.
“I have a son?” Luke cried, orbing himself as far as he could from the Patterson home and his most tremendous loss.

These next few days is either going to turn out to be the best week of the summer, or the most awkward week of the summer...
I’m currently stuck in a car surrounded by couples on our way to a lake house in Colorado. Somehow I ended up being lumped into this chaotic group of professional hockey players and their drop-dead gorgeous significant others.
About a year ago at my local salon, I just so happened to be seated right next to a woman named Grace, who I immediately hit it off with. We became fast friends and are now basically inseparable at this point. Her boyfriend just so happens to play hockey for the Colorado Avalanche, Cale Makar. Now I have also grown quite close with Cale as well, since I am always at their shared apartment for Grace. At this point Cale is basically third wheeling us, instead of it being the other way around. Therefore I was also always invited to team parties and get-togethers, which prompted more friendships with most of the guys on the team and their respective partners.
Someone I have surprisingly grown super close with is Bowen Byram. As soon as Cale introduced us two, his blue eyes and raspy voice immediately drew me in. Straight away we bonded over common interests and that night we talked for almost three hours. After that, we were thick as thieves. So thick that recently I have come to the realization that I have caught major feelings for him along the way.
It has only been a few weeks since I have come to this realization and it has already started to affect our relationship. I definitely started to ignore Bowen a little bit when I first figured out my feelings because I was scared he would somehow find out or I would just end up blurting it out at some point. And the last thing I want is for my silly feelings to ruin such a great friendship.
Thus why this week can either turn out to be the best or the worst.
I’ve decided that at some point during this trip I need to confess my feelings for Bowen. He’s also seemed to notice the shift in my attitude towards him. I have become more closed off and not as touchy as we used to be. Bowen and I are both very touchy/feely types of people. So what seemed like just some harmless cuddling and play wrestling with each other, to me did very little to quell down my feelings.
For example, this morning when we were packing up the cars for the trip a group of us are taking to Tyson Jost’s lakehouse, Bowen went to wrap his arms around my middle from the back and I subconsciously flinched away at his touch. I know he definitely noticed my mood shift from the defiant pout that was resting on his face. After that I did what I do best, and ran away to the other car that was driving up and basically begged Nate to switch seats with me.
Which now leads to my current thoughts. The entire car ride up I have been contemplating on ways I could tell him, but each scenario just ended up with him telling me that he doesn’t feel the same, and our friendship essentially being over. Obviously I was just overthinking just a little, but I’ve never been stuck in a situation like this before-- and now we are going to be stuck in a lake house together for an entire week, so I am going to be forced to face this situation whether I want to or not.
“Yo. Earth to y/n?” Tyson draws, trying to gain my attention. I snap out of my thoughts as soon as I hear my name, and bring my gaze to the rearview mirror to meet Tyson’s questioning look. “We’re here.” He announces.
Susanna, Mikko’s girlfriend, adds on, “You alright? You seemed kind of out of it the entire car ride.”
I shake my head to try and clear my thoughts and notice that we are indeed here at the lake house we will be staying at for the next week. I clear my dried up throat before croaking out a weak, “Yeah, I’m fine. Just don’t like long car rides.”
Both of them nod, content with my answer and exit the car to join Mikko in unloading all of the luggage from the trunk. I take a few more moments to fully get my head together after dealing with all my jumbled thoughts throughout the entire three hour car ride.
Jumping out of the car, the first thing I see is Bowen letting out a yawn and stretching out. As his arms raise over his head, some of his shirt rises up with it and immediately my eyes are drawn to the small portion of skin and v-line that is in front of me. Bowen then notices my presence and makes eye contact with me, giving me one of his adorable little smiles. I advert my gaze as quickly as I can so my obvious ogling isn’t as obvious and go to finally retrieve my luggage.
Yeah this was gonna be a long week.
After everyone got pretty much all settled into their rooms, we all ended up coming back together to sit around the firepit to chat and enjoy some drinks. For this trip that Tyson orchestrated there are in total ten people staying in the house. Me, Tyson, obviously since it’s his house; Bowen, Cale, Grace, Alex Newhook, Mikko and his girlfriend Susanna, and lastly Nate and his supposed new girl who will be joining us later on in the week.
Apparently a group of the guys and their partners have been taking trips together at the end of the hockey season for a while now, and since growing closer with the team this year, I graciously got an invite.
Since it was getting later and a little bit more chilly, I grabbed a random sweatshirt that I saw already laying around in the living room before making my way outside to join everyone by the firepit. Getting closer I noticed that the only seat available just so happened to be next to Bowen.
Cale and Grace give each other a not so inconspicuous knowing look when they see me approaching. As soon as I sit down, a question is being thrown at me.
“Whose sweatshirt is that y/n?” Cale brings everyone's attention to me with a growing smirk on his face.
“I don’t know, I just found it in the living room.” I give Cale a questioning glare, trying to figure what his endgame is right now.
“It’s mine.” I hear that same raspy voice that I love and know so well. I feel my face start heating up at the idea of wearing Bowen’s sweatshirt. Am I wearing his name on my back right now, and I just didn’t even think to check earlier?
“Oh, uh. Sorry, I can give it back to you, if you want it.” I stumble out, now feeling awkward and a little embarrassed about how flustered I am getting over a simple sweatshirt.
Bowen gives me a little smile before replying back, “Nah, it’s fine. It looks better on you anyway.”
I clear my throat and stumble out an awkward ‘thanks’ at Bowen and then turn my attention to Grace right next to me so I don’t embarrass myself even more. What I don’t see though is the way Bowen's face immediately falls when I turn my back on him.
Around midnight is when everyone started to make their way back inside the house to start getting ready for bed. I was mindlessly scrolling through my social media, so I didn’t notice that mostly everyone had already gone inside.
“Y/n.” I look up at the mention of my name to notice that Bowen and I are the only ones left outside.
Also noticing the intense gaze I am receiving from Bowen, I quickly gather my things and stumble out, “Oh my gosh I didn’t notice everyone left already. I should head inside as well.”
Bowen is quicker though because he grabs ahold of my wrist, halting me in place before I make my very obvious escape.
“Hold on, please. Can you please talk to me?” Bowen pleads out.
“What do you mean? We’ve been talking all night.” I countered, trying one last time to get out of this conversation.
“We’ve been talking as a group all night yeah, but you couldn’t even make eye contact with me. You know what I mean. What’s been going on? Did I do something?” Bowen frowned.
At that moment I felt so guilty. I’ve been so focused on trying to ignore my feelings that I have developed that I ended up pushing my best friend away and hurting him in the process. I close my eyes and let out a deep breath. I knew I would eventually have to have this talk with Bowen during this week, but I just didn’t expect it to be on the very first night.
“Okay. Yeah, let’s talk.”
I lead the way down to the dock overlooking the lake and sit down to dangle my feet into the water. I know for a fact that Grace and Cale realized that we both haven’t come in behind them, so they are most likely snooping by the backdoor wondering what we are doing.
Bowen joins me, after slipping his shoes off and dangling his feet in as well.
“What’s been going on y/n?” Bowen asks again.
“I-I think I’m in love with you.” I blurt out. I can feel my heartbeat pounding in my ears as I await any type of response from Bowen. Taking a peek over at him, I see the pure shock on his face. Probably wasn’t the best idea to start off the conversation with that.
Taking his silence as a bad sign, I start spewing out whatever I can to try and calm the anxiety coursing through my veins. “I-I think I have known for a while and I just tried to ignore it, I guess. But then I realized that I was just pushing you away, an-and I never wanted to do that. Our friendship means that absolute world to me, and I would hate myself if anything I did, or-or my stupid feelings jeaporized that.” At some point during my little rant, a few tears escaped. I turn my head away as I try to hold back on a full on sob breaking loose.
“You think?” He eventually breaks the silence.
Confusedly, I turned my head back around and let out a strangled, “Huh?” I see the corners of Bowen’s mouth start curving up into a tiny smile, confusing me even more.
“You said, you think you’re in love with me.” He pointed out.
My eyebrows raise in question and I give him a little shrug, prompting him to elaborate more.
“Well… I’m pretty damn sure I’m in love with you.” Bowen softly declared.
My breath catches in my throat and my mouth turns as dry as the Sahara Desert. Those were definitely not the words I was expecting to come out of his mouth. He chuckles at my surprised face and scooches a little closer to my body to wipe a stray tear on my cheek.
“Are you serious?” I whisper out.
“Of course.” He whispered just as softly back to me as his head inched closer to mine.
My heart pounds in my chest as Bowen’s hand comes up to cradle my cheek. All of our pent up feelings and emotions that we both have been too afraid to admit all come crashing together as our lips finally meet. He kissed me gently, almost carefully, but after all this time gentleness was not what I wanted right now. Bowen let out a low groan as I pulled him flush against my body, my fists bunching up the collar of his shirt.
Before this could go any further, we both pull away breathlessly, basking in what truly just happened-- just now realizing how much our relationship is about to change.
“Fuck.” Bowen breathed out, running his hands over his face. “If I knew that was what it was like to kiss you I would’ve blurted out my feelings the day I met you.”
My ears perk up at his last few words and it seems like he also realizes what he just admitted, as his cheeks immediately turn a rosy color.
“You’ve liked me for that long?” I bashfully question.
Bowen runs his fingers through his hair and blows out a breath of air before answering, “Yeah, I-I mean… yeah I have.” He stumbles out, awkwardly letting out a laugh.
I lean my head on his shoulder and connect our hands, feeling super content and never wanting this moment to end. We take a moment to just sit on the dock-- with our feet hanging in the water, hands intertwined; and bask in the feeling of finally letting our feelings out into the open.
“You know everyone in that house is going to have a field day when they find out.” Bowen mumbles against my shoulder, before leaving a lingering kiss on the exposed skin.
“Oh I wouldn’t be surprised if they all had a bet going or something.” I chimed. I raise my head that had previously been resting on Bowen’s shoulder back up to look at him, and see that he is already smiling at me. “What?” I drawled, feeling my cheeks heating up under his gaze.
“You wanna sleep in my bed tonight?” He asked hesitantly.
My cheeks now feel on fire as I ponder on how I want to go about this. I raise my eyebrows up at him in question as I ponder out, “Do you want me in your bed tonight?”
Bowen gives me an almost incredulous look as he voiced, “Of course I want you in my bed.”
I just give him a simple nod and push my body up in a standing position, reaching out my hand to prompt Bowen to join me. “Okay, let’s go.”
Bowen immediately shoots up from his sitting position, clinging onto my hand as we make our way back up the yard to the sliding glass doors of the lake house. Just as I predicted earlier, Cale and Grace were totally snooping. Actually, the entire house was snooping. Everyone was gathered in the kitchen trying to act casual as we walked in, but as soon as they noticed our conjoined hands, all hell broke loose.
“I fucking knew it!”
“Aw you guys look so cute.”
“Bout time.”
“Ha! Nate, you owe me fifty bucks.”
I looked over at Bowen with an unimpressed look, “Told you they probably had a bet going on.” Meanwhile Bowen has an incredulous look coating his face watching his friends freak out over his newfound relationship. Instead of questioning our oddball friends, Bowen just simply shakes his head, letting out a little chuckle.
“Alright I’m heading up, I can’t deal with these idiots right now.” Bowen gives me a quick peck on the lips before announcing his departure for the night. Most of the others also start making their way up to their respective rooms for bed, the guys putting on a show of making kissy noises and making a few chirps as they follow Bowen up the stairs.
Grace joins me by the counter, making a show of wiggling her eyebrows at me. I’m smiling like an idiot as Cale also joins us, chuckling at my lovesick expression.
“You’re welcome.” Cale smirked.
I scrunch my face up in confusion as I question him back, “For what?”
“For introducing you two, duh.” Cale teased. Grace smacks him on the arm with a tut, making a show of rolling her eyes at her boyfriend. “Alright, seriously I am happy for you guys though.” He eventually relents.
My cheeks heat up from the attention but also from the thought of Bowen and I’s new relationship. Grace grabs me by the shoulders and starts pushing me in the direction of the staircase.
“Obviously I’m happy for you too. All I’ve wanted is the best for you and I think Bowen is just that. And with that being said, go get your mans!” She sends me off with a quick smack on my ass. I giggle the whole way up the stairs on the way into Bowen’s [now our] room feeling extremely giddy and content.
When I enter the room, all the lights except for the bathroom are already off, and it looks like Bowen is already settled into bed. So, I quickly do my night time routine and change into my pajamas before making my way over to the bed I will now be sharing for the week.
Bowen is awaiting me with his arms wide open, which I happily cuddle into the second I am under the covers. He buries his head into my neck, leaving featherlight kisses here and there.
“I love you.” Bowen mumbles into my neck. I card my fingers through his hair and kiss the top of his head as I mumble back those same words, in complete awe over how fast my life has changed in one night. We both knew that we would eventually be together, it just took a little time and a trip to Tyson Jost’s lakehouse for us to figure it out. This week will definitely be one for the books.

Your Ass Is Out of This World (Kelley x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: alex or kelley or sonnett x reader where they've been dating for a few years R is an astronaut for NASA and she gets to go to space
Author’s Note: Special thanks to @literaryhedgehog cause without her, none of this would have happened.
Kelley wasn’t quite sure how she had ended up standing next to a dive bar sipping a lukewarm beer on a Friday night. In her defense, Ali and Ashlyn had convinced her it would be fun and had promised to pay for the Uber rides both ways. It had been fun for a while, dancing with them to some old 70s songs on the light-up dance floor, but half an hour ago they had disappeared off into a hallway somewhere, and she had no intention of third-wheeling (she knew she should have convinced Alex to join them). But she also wasn’t going to leave without them, because she wasn’t convinced either of them were sober enough to take any kind of transportation safely (someone needed to be there to make sure they didn’t puke in someone’s car).
So here she was, standing by the bar waiting for her friends’ sexcapades to be over, nursing her drink. The clink of a glass settling in front of her caught her attention. She blinked at the bartender. “I didn’t order another one,”
The man’s lips ticked up and he shrugged. “Lady on the end paid for it. Said you looked sad,”
Kelley looked up, following the man’s eyes towards a woman standing a few seats down the bar from her. She was also standing alone but was dressed as though for a different event altogether. Kelley had embraced the 70s theme of the bar slightly, wearing a jumpsuit and a scarf around her head, but this woman had just thrown a white NASA shirt--like the one Kelley got for her little cousin at Target-- over a pair of black jeans. As she bobbed her head to the music she met Kelley’s eyes and smiled.
Kelley took that as her invitation to approach. Kelley’s eyes traced her form, lingering on the white material. She didn’t know those came in adult sizes...
“You must be a star, I can't stop orbiting around you” Kelley smiled charmingly as she approached you, setting her beer on the bar beside you and settling in the seat to the left of yours.
“I do believe I was the one to buy you the drink…” you said, your lips twitching as you tried to keep a serious expression. “Shouldn’t I be the one throwing pickup lines here?”
“You bought me the drink, so I get to be the one to woo you. I’m Kelley, are you from Mars? 'cuz I wanna explore you with curiosity.” Kelley said, wiggling her eyebrows at you, enjoying the light blush coloring your cheeks.
“Oh my god,” you groaned, “that was terrible. I mean really good but absolutely awful.”
“At least I got you to smile, but you still haven’t told me your name.” Kelley laughed, taking a sip of her beer. She was prepared to lay on the horrible pick up lines for your entertainment.
“I’m Y/n,” you said, putting down your drink and holding out your hand, “pleasure.”
“They call me the milky way...Pleasure You Can't Measure,” Kelley smiled, shaking your hand as you laughed and pulling you a little closer “Why look at the moon, if I can’t touch it? Why look at your lips, if I can't kiss them,” she said, winking so you knew she was completely joking.
“How do you know so many of these?” You said, shaking your head in awe. “ All I know off the top of my head is ‘do you work for NASA? Because you’re out of this world!’”
“Ah, a magician never reveals her secrets,” Kelley whispered conspiratoryly, bringing her hand up to cover her lips. “but my team and I have definitely had flirt offs for bonding nights,”
“Your team?”
“Yeah, I play soccer for the US and Washington,” She shrugged as if it wasn’t a huge accomplishment.
Your eyes widened and you nearly spat out your drink. “Didn’t they, like, just win a World Cup?”
“Yeah, No biggie,” Kelley said, side-eyeing you as she took another sip.
“No biggie?  I’m surprised you don’t have a swarm of paparazzi shadowing you, that’s incredible! Weren’t the USWNT like the most successful US team in soccer?’
“Hm, there’s not enough drama for them, but we don’t mind. How about you? What do you do beautiful?” Kelley hummed.
“Oh. I work for NASA,” you said, gesturing at the shirt. “I can’t wait to bring some of those lines back to work.”
“What??”

“So do they at least give you a good choice of flavors? So you don’t get bored and stuff?” Emily asked from across the table, licking her dripping I cream cone.
When your girlfriend decided to introduce you to the team after their match against Colombia, you were quite surprised she had chosen an ice cream shop as a venue. But with how food motivated the youngins seemed, you realized how appropriate it was.
“I mean,” you said, your spoon suspended in the air as you blinked at Emily, “ice cream isn’t the only thing we will eat. I’m going to be on the station for like 8 months. Ice cream is not a balanced diet.”
“But it’s the only one they sell in the stores. You don’t have to lie cause the veggie lovers are here,” The defender said, leaning across the table, as though it would prevent the rest of the table from hearing her.
“Babe, you literally love most veggies too,” Lindsey rolled her eyes, using her thumb to wipe a spot of chocolate ice cream from Emily’s nose.
“Actually, I heard they’re a pretty good selection of dehydrated fruits and veggies and MRE’s and Tortillas and stuff. Plus I get to take a few things from home…” You mumbled, leaning back.
She couldn’t be serious right? There was no way she thought you were supposed to sustain yourself on horrible freeze-dried dairy products for that long. Not to mention, freeze-dried ‘astronaut’ products for the most part weren’t actually possible to bring to space, with how crumbly they are. You were more likely to eat actual ice cream on the space station (less chance for an errant crumb being inhaled or destroying an important piece of equipment) than that gift shop garbage.
“Oh yeah, MRE sounds way more likely than just eating the stuff they literally label as being for astronauts…” Emily said, rolling her eyes. “What does that even stand for? ‘Must reject Emily?”
You opened your mouth to answer, eyebrows furrowed, only for Kelley to nudge you softly.
“It’s not worth the fight babe, trust me. Not the brightest lighthouse if you know what I mean,” Your girlfriend made a swirling motion with her finger next to her temple.
You leaned in closer so your lips were nearly touching her ear. “She’s not serious right?”
“I never joke about ice cream,” Emily answered seriously.
You blinked at her, looking to your girlfriend who just shrugged and raised her eyebrows.
“I’m, I’m not sure if they have a flavor rotation system for ice cream flavors. We haven’t been… briefed on that yet,” you nodded seriously.
…...
“Can you hear me?” Kelley said, tapping her fingers impatiently as your face appeared in the video call.
“He- -utiful,” You smiled through the glitchy computer screen. Your waving was broken up like a bad claymation. You leaned in to make out the fuzzy figures standing behind your girlfriend, assuming she was at camp or something.
Normal long distance sucked, but literally being off-planet really made things difficult. It wasn’t like Kelley could just text you when she missed you, or randomly call you when she missed you at 3 am. Sure, she could email and you made a tremendous effort to schedule calls once a month, but it was still incredibly difficult (and slightly weird that a NASA tech dude had to monitor each call to make sure the connection stayed up). And sometimes even the best video-calling technology had issues. Like today (when a giant satellite or piece of space trash would block the signal).
“Are you hav- -un at -amp?” You asked, grabbing your floating water pouch pushing out a sip sized water drop.
“Yeah, it’s great,” Kelley said, watching you munch on your water. When you first got on the station you sent her pictures of artwork you made out of different drops of colored water- specifically making a giant water ‘soccer ball’ for her. Then you tried to boop it around and ended up losing control, amusing all your crewmates who watched you trying not to run into too many walls. “We’re looking forward to playing against Brazil on Friday, should be brutal.”
“We’re set to be ov- Florida on -day, so I’ll try and tune into the ga-. Catch a nice - view,” You nodded, wiggling your eyebrows (which looked more like you having a seizure due to how badly you were pixelated).
While Kelley wasn’t entirely sure what you were saying, she went ahead and nodded. “Let me know what you think!”
“Wh- color -it are you w-ing? Y- look -uper s-xy in the -ue,” you said, floating up in a ‘draw me like one of your french girls’ pose.
“You’re favorite one,” Kelley said, winking at you.
“-es!!” You cheered “-ake p-ture -or -“ the screen flickered dangerously for a second. Before a wobbly picture returned.
“Babe you’re breaking up, I can’t tell what you’re saying. Y/n. Are you there? UGh. I love you! We’ll talk soon.”
“-ove y- -oo”
Kelley blew a slow kiss to her camera before she heard a deep voice saying “Sorry ma’am. The connection was lost. Y’all still have five minutes on your scheduled call- Want me to try calling again? See if the signal improves?”
“Yeah,” Kelley shifted, rubbing the bridge of her nose as typing sounds echoed through the speaker. How she was going to make it through four more months of this she had no idea.
“What if like the ship was attacked by aliens or something,” Sonnett whispered from her left, staring at the blank screen with real trepidation.
“Not possible ma’am,” she heard him laugh. “But I doubt I would have the right level of security clearance to know.”
“great.”
Kelley grabbed a pen and marked a day off the calendar hanging on her wall. So much for ‘phone call with Y/n.’ She sighed. Just a few months to go.

Gravity fucking sucked. It was disorienting and heavy and made you sick to your stomach. Space station alums always talked about re-entry and how bad that was, but you thought sitting in a NASA hospital bed while your equilibrium readjusted was way worse than your fireball craft plummeting into the ocean.
“This fucking sucks,” You groaned, again throwing your hand over to pull out the IV. You hated how hard it was to move (and how you actually had to hold up a cup of water to get a drink but that was beside the point).
“Whoa babe, I know you’re a little out of it right now, but that has to stay in. Just try and relax for a little while,” Kelley said, grabbing your hand and kissing the back of your knuckles.
You frowned at her through heavy-lidded eyes. “Don’t wanna be here. Wanna be home with you.”
“I know, but you gotta stay here until the re-entry symptoms have worn off a little more,” She said again. She knew that you weren’t going to be 100% when you stepped out of the spacecraft, but she hadn’t expected you to be so out of it. You were sick to your stomach and entirely unable to walk without assistance.
The doctors assured her that you would be fine (residual effects from not being in gravity for so long and the impact of the landing or whatever), but it was still difficult to watch. It didn’t help that you were a horrendous patient.
“Just watch the game. The US is even in Blue,” Kelley tried to coax. Even she was beginning to grow restless. But you couldn’t leave until you could keep down solid foods.
“I don’t want to watch. You’re not in it,” You said, grabbing the remote from her and turning the television off. Then you tried to set the remote in the air, but instead of hovering like it should have done, it dropped to the ground.
“Alright, commander Y/l/n. It’s dinner time,” one of the NASA hospital nurses said, bringing in a tray for you. Kelley thanked them as they left since you were too dazed to think of it.
“God this food sucks, I hate jello ” you grumbled, lifting the spoon in front of your face (fully expecting it to float so you could take your bite) and dropping it as you want to open the pudding packet instead. “I just want a big juicy cheeseburger. With bacon and onions and-“ You trailed off, your mouth watering at the thought. You hadn’t had proper food in 8 months, and it had been your major cravings food.
“A side of diabetes” she scoffed, picking up the discarded remote and spoon, “And are you going to keep dropping things everywhere?” She asked, carefully filling a spoon with chocolate pudding and guiding it to your mouth.
“Fuck Newton. Things are supposed to float,”

You loved the soft skin behind Kelley’s ear. It was so smooth, and it always smelt like a mix of her perfume, shampoo, and something inherently Kelley. It was a bonus that your exploration of the area always sent a shiver down her spine. You ran your nose along the skin there, nibbling on her ear before moving down her neck. Leaving little kisses along your path. Kelley sighed, sleepily scratching your scalp and tilting her head to the side to encourage you to continue.
“You,” Kelley said. “ I like you.”
“Hm, I’m glad. It would be kinda scary if you were doing this with someone you didn’t like,” you mumbled against her skin, unwilling to part with it for even a moment. Kelley giggled at the tickling sensation. How you still had so much energy after you had thoroughly worn her out getting… reacquainted she would never know.
“But what do you like most. Tell me, babe,” You said, moving your lips a little lower, towards where her shoulder and neck met.
“I love… your ass. It’s out of this world.” She said sleepily, reaching around to grab her favorite asset of yours.
“Well, it has been,” You laughed, pulling away reluctantly so you could look her in the eyes.
“Shut up you goof,” She rolled her eyes, grabbing a pillow and whacking you lightly. You fell over dramatically, pulling her so she was on top of you.
“Hm, I’m your goof,”
“Yeah. You are. And babe?” She smiled down at you, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips.
“Hmm?” You hummed against her lips. She leaned back to look you in the eyes, one forearm across your chest and her other hand beside your head supporting her.
“No more space travel for a while?”
“Pinky promise,” You said, wiggling your hand so your littlest finger connected with hers.
“Good. I can’t believe I was dating someone from TEXAS for a while.” Kelley pretended to shudder. “Jus think, one of your coworkers might have been a Houston dash supporter!”
