A couple of CCG AU doodles! Gave him a nice suit, a better eyepatch, and more problems lmao. In the beginning I think Kaneki saw the CCG through rose tinted glasses bc they did save his life and gave him a job and food, but as time goes on and realizes he's just a weapon for them, he accepts it. If that's his purpose, than so be it.

Thanks for the ask and damn I'm always so excited when it comes to these so ofc I don't mind, also warning I'm about to kinda go off. It's a pretty long list so I'll only talk about the ones that left the biggest impression on me.

Warning for mentions of twincest, incest and age gaps.

Starting off with the ship that indoctrinated me into the bl life style *drumroll*

Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter (aka Drarry); enemies/rivals to lovers, blond x ravenette, they basically set the precedent for every ship I pick up like a stray cat these days.

Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku (Bakudeku): Enemies to lovers, plus constantly on each other's mind as a motivation in one way or the other. I love them so much.

Mikage Reo/Nagi Seishiro (NagiReo): one of my current hyperfixations, mainly cuz they're one of the few ships I have that wasn't introduced as rivals from the start as well as being extremely close canonically. They click so well despite their miscommunication (more like no communication but I'll probably get to that another day).

Gojo Saturou/Itadori Yuuji (GoYuu): Most of my blog will you a clue already lol.

Sukuna/Itadori Yuuji (SukuIta): Number one toxic ship rn, but would you believe I prefer their siblings falling in forbidden love trope?

Mikaela Hyakuya/Yuuichiro Hyakuya (MikaYuu): Found family lovers that will give anything for each other? Sign me up.

Tyki Milk/Allen Walker: I walked into the D.gray man fandom late and I will never not regret it, I need more people that at least know who they are (〒﹏〒)

Eren Jeager/Armin Arlet & Eren Jaeger/Levi Ackerman (Eremin & Ereri): Getting these two out of the way at the same time cuz while I think Eren is undeniably his best self a lot with Armin, I love the thought of Levi being there as his inspiration.

Itoshi Rin/Itoshi Sae: Their beef is adorable but they need to fuck.

Roy Mustang/Edward Elric: I love their banter and they've both been through way too much together.

Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent (Superbat): one is batman the other is superman...Need I say more?

Dick Grayson/Tim Drake: I watched Titans and they had me.

Luka/Adrian (Lukachat): I stopped watch Miraculous at like S3 but these two are the only salvageable treasure from that mess to me.

Sherlock Holmes/William James Moriarty (Sherliam): From Moriarty the Patriot not any other adaptations please. There was that one movie tho. I love how they're constantly teasing and trying to outsmart each other like yeah babes, burn that city down to get his attention.

Kageyama Tobio/Hinata Shoyo (Kagehina): I haven't finished Haikyuu S2, spare me.

Kagami Taiga/Kuroko Tetsuya: what's with sports anime and K names, that aside, I don't know but their separation leaves me in tears everytime.

Yukio Okumura/Rin Okumura: Rin cares so much, Yukio stop being a yandere you closeted brocon! I know you!!!

Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji: I have a thing for broody possessive tops and oblivious bottoms and they were my awakening.

Hideyoshi Nagachika/Ken Kaneki (Hidekane): Receiving Tokyo ghoul spoilers of how things ended kept from finishing the show or starting the manga, what even is the point .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Draken/Mikey/Takemichi & Draken/Mikey: DraMiTake is something I'd consume if I find it cuz I read this one precious fic I will forever cherise but DraMikey has way too much angst potential on its own. Tugs my heart to know Draken keeps Mikey grounded.

Baji Keisuke/Chifuyu Matsuno: Kazutora I will never fucking forgive you.

Hanma shuji/Kisaki Tetta: psychotic boyfriends, we love to see it (✿ ♡‿♡)

Reinhard Van Astrea/Natsuki Subaru: They are literally my banner plus he's one of the few people that doesn't give Subaru a hard time (I only watched S1)

Sebastian Michaelis/Ciel Phantomhive: Butler x master, what else do I need to add. I do absolutely adore the thought of Sebastian being cheeky when putting his young master in his place. I also love soft Sebastian, go figure.

Carnegie/Jonathan Sterling: No one remembers Darkside so I won't even dive into it. These two are the reason I'm trying to finish the series right now, book girlies, read Darkside by Tom Becker and come find me please ಥ‿ಥ

Dante/Vergil: It just makes sense ngl.

hidekane headcanons??? hidekane??? I like thinking about them pre-rize. my gosh I read this amazing fic that gave them the 8-odd years of backstop before tg starts and it DESTROYED ME. my headcanon tho? hide likes to dress kaneki up. all his clothes were picked out by hide. I have no proof or reason for this. also I think they have wildly different music tastes. also also hide seems like a trumpet kid while kaneki took art and I can just imagine preteen hide annoying kaneki with his trumpet

I agree with both! Especially seeing scenes in the manga where they literally wear each other's clothesss

Kaneki’s love language is quality time, and Hide’s is acts of service. Usually this works great, but there’s a growing problem of Hide attempting to do things for kaneki that he didn’t ask for on the assumption it would be as meaningful for him as it to for Hide, and this can cause issues

33. How do they flirt? Who’s the worse flirt?

They are both utterly horrible at it. Anti flirting. Terminally bitchless. Hide’s go-to method is directly quoting pickup lines from movies and books because “it worked for them! (In Fiction)” and Kaneki just. Doesn’t. He has no idea how and is too nervous to. The only reason either of them every got laid is because hide got lucky with one ex girlfriend and Kaneki who have bad taste and Kaneki had to almost die to get an ounce of confidence

And also yes I will! I definitely plan to update my unfinished fics I just have a rodent attention span, but they’ll definitely be worked on!

I am in desperate need of writing advice!!

No prior knowledge required, just pick what sounds interesting AS LONG AS YOU HELP ME PLEASE MY CREATIVITY IS DEAD IN A CORNER

So i’m working on this Hidekane fic (will be posted on AO3), canon compliant, set after time skip. Hide finds himself with hanahaki because of his “unrequited” love for Kaneki, who is “happily” married to Touka.

Here is where I need help. Do I make it Hidetouken like I originally planned or do I divorce Token (civil ofc) and make it Hidekane and Touriko (sacrificing Yoriko’s husband, the poor soul) ? If I change it to divorce version i’ll have to rethink a lot of vital elements of the story but I firmly believe that Touka and Kaneki are not in love and I feel awkward writing T*uken. If I choose divorce route i’ll have to rethink entire first half, if I choose poly route I have to rethink entire second part. I kinda vibe with Hidetouken tho but idk

The poll will be up for a week, please, ANYONE help meeee! No guarantee i’ll follow the results tho, just really need advice 🙏🙏

what are your top 3 tg ships?

btw I’m @rizeenthusiast, this is my main :)

1) Shuuneki, but it HAS to be written a certain way. Preferably with Shironeki since a) he’s my favourite and b) I don’t see why Kuroneki or Haise would agree to date Shuu since Kuro would take everything Shuu does platonically and be too oblivious to Notice The Signs, while Haise wouldn’t be able to get to know Shuu too well since he’s manipulated to prioritize his work more than anything outside of it. Shiro however would probably date Shuu if he found it beneficial to him in some way and I think they could bring out the worst in eachother if they became more comfortable together. Bond over violence yk

2) Amoneki - I don’t post about them much (tbf I don’t post about anything) but every fic I’ve ever read of them has included an “omg he’s so small” from Amon and I think that’s hilarious and adorable. Any Kaneki pre-Reaper would work for this one, I saw a really cute Human Kaneki slurping ramen with Amon once and aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕 SUPER cute. Closest thing to a comfort ship

3) Hidekane! this is mainly because of some really good fics I’ve read (cough cough Pathetic Fallacy changed my whole opinion of this ship). Hide is so Silly and Kaneki is so Oh No Please Don’t Do That and they understand eachother on such a deep level and realistically I don’t think anyone else would ever be able to do that with Kaneki. If we cast aside my reading and aesthetic preferences this is probably the Superior TG Ship because of how close they are together in canon so they can respond to eachother accordingly.

A currently canon ship I’m okay with but don’t prefer:  There really aren’t any canon ships, so...   

A ship that would only work in an AU but would be awesome:  Can’t really think of one.   

A ship I’d like to see explored but not stick around:  Sometimes I saw Sakurai x Momoi in fics, and I thought that’d be kind of cute.  Honestly, I don’t mind if it sticks around.   

A ship that may as well be canon:  Again, KagaKuro.  But also MidoTaka.

The ships I’d give my OTP pair if the other died:  Like HideKane, I would rather them not.  But begrudgingly AoKuro (I read a fic about this happening) and...well, I don’t know who Kagami would be with if Kuroko died. 

 A crossover ship I’d dig:  More of a friendship, but Kaneki (from ‘Tokyo Ghoul’) and Kuroko.  They both like to read, so they’d bond over that.  And Kuroko and Hinata (from 'Haikyuu!!') but as cousins.   

 A ship that would work great in a Coffee Shop AU:  AkaFuri.  Furihata the nervous barista who catches the eye of a young and charming CEO of Akashi Holdings.  I also think a ship involving Sakurai since he’s pretty good at making bentos, so he’d probably be good a latte art. 

A ship that would work great in a sitcom AU:  I feel Mitobe x Koganei would make for a laugh.  But I’d also say Kiyoshi x Hyuuga as well.

one aspect about them i love

I love his hair actually! The two-toned look is very fun to draw, I don't love the colors but I can shift the yellow to something a bit softer and all's well and good.

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

Man has layers. Yes he is the extremely loyal sunshine friend we all know, love, and wish we had, but he's also very plagued by worries and his own complexities. Just because Kaneki's gone through the ringer too many times to count doesn't mean Hide doesn't have problems of his own, that's what actually turns me away from a lot of Hidekane fics, Hide gets painted as a sort of wish-fulfillment character with no depth of his own just endless love and support to help "fix" Kaneki. It can be cosy and comforting but it's also a little overdone. (touken fics and touken canon suffers from this problem as well but that's a rant for another day.)

Socks with sandals wearer, doesn't dream often but when he does, he's prone to weirdly vivid ones with lots of somewhat ominous symbolism.

I'm going to let myself be predictable for a moment and say Kaneki, particularly when the sewer is involved.

Anyone would've been great, but particularly Touka, or any of the Quinx kids. As for "wish they would interact with," Shuu!

Further elaboration on the time I said he's licked a salt lamp or two: Once, while at some kind of department store he passed a particularly large salt lamp, and Kaneki made some kind of vague oblivious joke about wondering what it tasted like, and for a moment Hide knew the fear of god as he wondered if Kaneki had somehow figured it out.

when I started shipping it if I did: Hmm, I think it was when I was about half way through reading og back in 2016(ish)!

my thoughts: gay gay homosexul tragic gays, they are soooooo sun and moon coded

What makes me happy about them: The two times Kaneki nearly went crazy Hide was the only one able to pull him back to reality!!

What makes me sad about them: things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don't actually read many fics so I can't comment

things I look for in fanfic: Just them being cute and silly together I guess lol

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Hmm that's a hard one. I honestly can't see Hide being with anyone else and there's plenty of Kaneki ships that are good, but none of them quite hit the same

My happily ever after for them: Honestly these two deserve the domestic life. Both working to help the world and peace efforts with ghouls and getting a dog

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Hide's the big spoon no doubt

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: I'd say solving murder mysteries! Be it Clue or an ARG, they are so good at them

Which fic has been the hardest to write?

Tbh I recently had a bunch of exchange fics to write that were giving me a bit of trouble. I think probably because they were ships I haven't written in a while. They were fun to write though and I think they turned out pretty good.

Talk about your current wips.

My biggest one right now is definitely the Vashwood big bang fic I'm working on. It's been a lot of fun, mostly because I'm letting myself write the scenes out of order so I can do whatever works best at the time.

There actually is a Hidekane one I've been working a little bit every once in a while. Who knows if it'll ever see the light of day though lol.

call me dramatic but I have to completely block the entirety of the to/kyo ghoul series from my mind because just thinking about hideyoshi nagachika elicits a visceral reaction in me. the way his character was treated sends me spiraling like no other. I have to repress that entire fucking mess of a story because he was done so dirty and it simultaneously hurts so bad and makes me froth at the mouth with rage. ALL he ever did was be in love with his best friend and continuously make sacrifices for him and that motherfucker kaneki never deserved it. like god. the sewer scene. THE SEWER SCENE. the absolute fucking F U R Y i experience thinking about that shit. narratively, how we never got that flashback. as if hide giving up his life for his love, recieving THE most bitter kiss (as in: literally having his lips eaten off) wasn't worth being illustrated or even addressed beyond the subtext of him being brought back to life with a smiley face mask covering it up. that he barely got any backstory whatsoever and was the ONLY person in this entire goddamn series made of absolute pure light, who never had any alterior motives beyond doing what he could for his best friend. I have perpetual emotional trauma from what Ishida did and didn't do with him. I'd fight the freaking sun for hideyoshi nagachika even though he would never let me. fucking hell this manga was put to rest years ago but I cant let go man. I cant let go.
