Wedding Day Jitters
(my little drabble for mine & simeon’s wedding under the cut!
Simeon was a calm man, an astute angel, and currently a nervous wreck. Usually at weddings he was great! At the many he had partaken in in the Celestial Realm, he only got a little teary eyed, but was never nervous.
He guessed things changed for him because, this time, he was the groom awaiting his other half.
He stood at the altar, fidgeting in his suit as he peered down the aisle, sending a glance to the officiator. He was terribly glad that he was able to convince his friends and colleagues to leave the ceremony to an actual professional. He couldn’t imagine the chaos Solomon would bring or what Lucifer may say (he suspected that the demon may even cry).
The officiator shot him a comforting smile, giving him a slight nod. Simeon wobbly smiled back as he received a pat on his shoulder from his best man.
“They’ll be here any second, you know.” Solomon prodded.
“I know.” Simeon shot him a look. “And I’m sure you will feel just like this if you would just propose to—“
“Ah ah ah, no talking of other marriages on your wedding day! It’s bad luck in the Human Realm.”
Solomon’s grin told the angel that the sorcerer was lying, but he couldn’t really bring himself to care when the music began to play for Rune to enter.
Time seemed to stand still as Rune came down the aisle, dressed in a white tux with a bouquet of white flowers in his hand. Simeon felt his face get warm as they looked so lovingly into his eyes, eyes softening as he tilted his head to the side, smile wide. He held his hand out for them to take once they were close, and marveled in how perfect their fingers seemed to slot together.
“Hello, dove.” They whispered to him, voice tender and soft, enveloping his heart so sweetly.
“Hello, little lamb.” He whispered back, felt his words come out thick with emotions.
Rune beamed, rubbing the back of his hand gently with their thumb. He gave a gentle squeeze back, and they both turned to face the officiator.
Most of what the woman had said was a blur, to no fault of Simeon’s. How could one expect him to focus when his spouse, his spouse, was right by his side? At least he could remember his vows, that he was thankful for when the time had come.
He and Rune turned towards one another again, now holding both hands. He reached for no paper, shoulders loosening as he leaned towards them to speak.
“My Little Lamb,” Simeon began, “I have dreamed of this day for so long. Yearned to see you walk down the aisle into my arms, yearned for you to hold me and call me your husband. A part of me cannot believe that this is not fantasy, but I know looking at you now that this is better than anything my mind could have conjured.
Rune, my dear, I promise to you I will support you in all your endeavors. I promise to stand by your side no matter in peace or disaster. I promise with all of my soul that I love all of you.”
Simeon paused, cupping Rune’s face in his hand as he spoke the final words, “I look forward to waking up every morning with you and going to rest every night with you. My heart will always be with yours.”
Rune sniffled as he brushed the tears falling from their eyes, their hand placed over his.
“Oh love,” Rune began their vows. “Oh love, I cannot wait to spend my life with you. You have made my life so much brighter. You may be an author, but with you, I can see our future being painted in the most brilliant colors. I’m so grateful to be your spouse as we walk forward in our lives, to have someone who makes the world feel so special by my side. I promise to support you in all your endeavors. I promise to stand by your side no matter in peace or disaster. I promise with all of my soul that I love all of you. My dearest angel, my sun, my moon, I hope our lives are ever brightened by each other.”
The officiant smiled and spoke after a moment of silence, “Now, it is time to exchange the rings.”
Luke trotted up to the couple, holding the rings out to them on the little pillow. Simeon resisted the urge to ruffle his hair as he took the ring to put upon Rune’s finger.
“I love you, my dear.”
Rune picked up his ring with a teary smile, slipping it onto his finger as they replied, “I love you too, my dove.”
“Now, you may kiss your spouse!”
And with that, Simeon dipped down to kiss Rune, who threw their arms around his neck as he pulled them in by their waist. However the crowd was reacting had no space in Simeon’s mind, as he could only focus on Rune being in his arms, the feeling of their lips on his, and the knowledge that this was a new beginning made his heart feel like floating.

thank you for the ask blaidd! i hope your day is going wonderfully, and please remember to take care!
i got simeon for this one! uoooh my husband!! him and rune have a very sweet relationship. both of them start out as exchange students together, and they’re quick to become friends. it’s over the course of the exchange program that they grow closer, and it’s about in the half way point, when rune confesses to simeon.
they’re like the most domestic couple i can think of, and luke is their son!!! and raphael is his uncle. it’s just a very cute family and they both are terribly mushy and cute.
the one to propose was simeon, after they came back to the exchange program together. with everything happening in the celestial realm, and his punishment, he decided that what was best for him and his family was to ask rune if they wanted to get married, and they said yes! and their marriage was really cute too, luke was their ring bearer and mc was rune’s best person while lucifer was simeon’s best man.
