This drawing is really, really old, but let ne show it to ya!

It started simple, in the middle of my Sanrio brain rot i tough "hey, what would be eacg Smiling Critter's favorite Sanrio character?" And decided to draw the sanrio characters i tough would fit them better!

Once more, the drawing is really really old, but decided to post it anyways becouse it ain't that bad (just ignore that Line weight, i didn't do such thing until the most recent months), it ain't the best but ain't bad either.

Also! I had to cut it becouse my Canvas woudn't let me do it larger and fit all the characters, so here it is the other part!

Nyago is my favorite of the bunch, she/he/ they (?? Not sure) camed out so good

And obviously, i would do the same thing but with the Smiling Critters using costumes of Sanrio Characters becouse i just can't help it but love it

Imagine how cool and cuuute a sanrio event in twst would be! Like imagine silver and Lilia being my melody and kuromi. (Now imagine Leona having gutatama hehehe).

We've talked about a hypothetical TWST x Sanrio collab on this blog before! ^^ I would recommend checking out my #sanrio tag if you're interested~ MyMelo and Kuromi were actually mentioned before but with Malleus and Lilia in mind, and Leona was likened to Nemukko Nyago. My mind defaulted to Gudetama for Deuce because... egg 🍳 As much as I would love to have collabs, it looks like Disney so far has only been doing collabs with its own properties...? This includes Tsumsted Wonderland and Lost in the Book (with Stitch appears to be the first in this series). My enthusiasm for collabs has also dimmed a little after seeing how... inconsequential??? The collab stories have been (since I prefer a strong story over aesthetics) mediocre and don't really have an impact on the characters outside of doing cute and/or annoying things to them. The novelty of it wears off very quickly for me and I'm not sure how much I like that TWST pushes multiple SSRs for collabs because it's bad for my roll stash-- so I'm okay with just throwing ideas at the wall for fun rather than wishing for the collabs to come true!

I was actually thinking about Sanrio x TWST recently!! A friend of mine introduced me to this obscure Sanrio character named Nemukko Nyago that reminded me of Leona. He's an easygoing cat who loves sleep and has a favorite cushion. While I don't know if easygoing is a word I'd exactly use for Leona, I will say the resemblance is... striking /hj 😆

Sanrio literally has so many characters under their belt 😭 Last I checked, they had like over 450???? (But only a handful of them are well-known and recognizable as part of the Sanrio brand.) I've never heard of Nemukko Nyago until now, but his design reminds me a lot of like a pre-evolution of Garfield if that comparison makes any sense? Except with the longest eyelashes ever! (He kind of also looks like a bumblebee with that kind of a coloration svkwnxkshw) Now I’m picturing Leona picking Nemukko up by his scruff and holding him at an arm’s length while the cat just clings to his favorite cushion and softly snoozes 😴

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE LOSER'S BRACKET ARE OPEN!

Welcome to the Loser's Bracket submissions! If you don't know how it works, here's a rundown:

For about a week, I will have nominations open for the Loser's Bracket. Nominate as many characters as you want who were in the tournament but have lost, but do not nominate someone more than once or someone who wasn't in the main tournament. (All contestants who lost prior to the semifinals have a shot to be nominated.)

After the Loser's Bracket nominations have been recorded, I will take the top 16 most nominated characters and begin the Loser's Bracket, which will last 4 rounds. Each round will last only a day, unlike the main tournament, where each round lasted a week.

The winner of the Loser's Bracket will have an honorary place on the podium and be mentioned in the finals winners post.
