A playlist for Colonel Cross and Agent MacNamara, for Wiley and the General, and for Wil and John.

(some notes below the cut)

This started as an attempt to find 90s/2000s-era songs for MacNaCross and turned into a chronological (in terms of plot not songs 😅) soundtrack for a fic I would love to have the time and motivation to write but probably never will. Tracks 1-8 are pre-portal, everything after that is post-portal, and I went for a happy-ish/bittersweet tone towards the end because I'm soft for these two despite the atrocities.

Unfortunately the whole thing is pretty much just angsty white guy rock songs, but what can you do. I spent far too much time on it and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end, so I really hope you enjoy!

(Also, I didn't want to annoy anyone by actually tagging them, but shout out to @/youshouldhavepaidattentiondad whose amazing fic Remember You Like A Song is the reason Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are on here, and to @/starpirateee and @/scripted-downfall for the incredible pasta.txt fics, which influenced a lot of the angstier song choices (the whole concept of Wil being a different person from both Wilbur and Wiley now lives permanently in my brain). Please go read those fics if you're looking for MacNaCross stuff, they're fantastic!

And lastly: it was only while making this that I discovered that the song Apple Blossom by The White Stripes exists. So yeah I guess the Malus Domestica fics have a song now.)
