First meetings!
Eventually, they settle on naming Murder “Dust” because “Something” and “New” just weren’t good names
Killer belongs to Rahafwabas
Murder/ Dust belongs to Ask-dusttale
Nightmare belongs to Jokublog
In case you can’t read my handwriting:
Killer: Hey, welcome to the team! What’s your name?
Murder: … Sans
Killer: No- I know you’re Sans. I meant what’s your nickname?
Murder: Then call me… Murder
Killer: “Murder”? No, that won’t do, you need to change it
Murder: What? Why should I?
Killer: ‘Cause it’s too close to my name!
Murder: What’s your name then?
Killer: Killer
Murder: You’re right Paps, that’s a lame ass name, he should be the one changing it
Killer: Excuse me?! Why should I change my name?!
Murder: ‘Cause you’re a dumbass, that’s why!
Nightmare: (This was a good idea)

Today’s Thought - As biology would have it, the moray eel is cowardly by nature. Somehow this facet doesn’t apply to a certain someone. What he lacks in cowardice, he makes up for in cruelty.
The three days that follow the first feel like a blurred eternity, and you only know it’s been three because Jade’s explained your daily horoscope thrice now. The first: Do your best and your days will be fortuitous. You’re walking the path to success. The second: You may feel gloomy with the shifting skies. Rainfall may evoke sadness, but the secrets you hide from that important someone will seem even sadder. And the third (today’s prediction): There’s a chance you might find luck in uncertain situations.
These horoscopes might have provided you with a shred of relief if it weren’t for the fact that your slumber has been mostly dreamless ever since that last obscure nightmare, and so you don’t have anything to compare them to. No jellyfish. No strangers sitting at dinner tables. No blue hues for you to contemplate.
You’ve read through A Hiker’s Guide twice in the span of forty-eight hours, committing fungi facts to memory as if they’ll serve any purpose while you remain shackled in captivity. But it keeps you occupied and smothers any morbid thoughts threatening to spill into your skull. Which is what you really need right now—the sweet sense of comfort and contentment.
Jade upheld his end of your bargain yesterday when he poked his head inside the bathroom, presenting the white suit coat Azul had worn the night he faux-proposed. You kept your complaints to yourself, silently scorning him while he draped it across your shoulders. It’s an expensive brand sewn from luxurious fabrics you’d never be able to afford no matter how many extra shifts you pick up at The Devil’s Delight.
Out of habit, you’re attempting to calculate how many times you’d need to sleep with Azul in hopes of convincing him to buy you an outfit of equal grandeur. Your logic tells you multiple times for every pretty button and precise stitch, but your heart tells you it would only take a simple question and a sincere smooch to string him along. He opens his wallet for you as easily as you open your legs for him.
But that’s just part of the agreement, you remind yourself, petting the silky sleeve like it’s a cat. Stop thinking about him. Focus on other things.
You lift your gaze towards the door.
I wonder what Riddle’s up to. We were supposed to meet up on Saturday. He’s probably angry I couldn’t make it. Or maybe he’s worried I’m not showing up to work. Shaking your head, you scoff bitterly. No, he’s not worried. He’s Riddle. He never worries about distractions like me. He has everything laid out so perfectly. You toy with one of the exquisite cuffs on the jacket, twisting it between your fingers. I guess when you’re that meticulous you never have to worry about anything because, no matter what happens, you’re following a familiar schedule. So even if things don’t go to plan, you can just move to the next item on your list.
You slouch against the wall and sigh.
Maybe it’s better to live repetitive days. It’s boring, but it’s safe.
Before you can start weighing the positives and negatives to that thought, a noise from below resounds. You scramble away from the sink, mindful of your bandaged ankle, and force yourself flat like a pancake, your ear pressed against the tiles. The air is still, your breath is hitched, and then there are footsteps. Four in total. You assume he’s taking off his shoes because there’s a disconcerting quiet that follows. Seconds later, you strain to hear the door as it shuts and locks with a click.
And then there is more silence.
Something’s not right, you think, chewing your lip. Anxiety bubbles in your blood, volcanically volatile. He’s not coming upstairs.
You push yourself up onto your arms and retreat to the space between the bathtub and sink.
He always comes upstairs to check on me when he gets home. Right away. So why isn’t he? What’s going on? You shake your head and dig your nails into your arms. Don’t panic. Maybe he’s preparing another meal? But he usually eats before work. At least, that’s what he’s done with me ever since the first day. Maybe he didn’t have work. Maybe he went out to do something. But what? Cover his tracks? Kill someone? Make sure there are no witnesses from that night? Kill someone? Your grip on Azul’s jacket tightens. Relax. Take a breath and think about it logically. He can’t do anything rash. Not when he’s just kidnapped me. Someone must have made a missing report by now, so he has to be careful.
Your eyes slide about the room, inspecting the framed sketches once more. What if it’s the afternoon? He could make up any time he wants and I’d have no choice but to believe him. He could’ve gone out for lunch, or he met up with Azul for the daily walks we usually do. Right. Azul. He has to know something’s up. He has to… Wait.
The realization is glacial, stabbing through your skull mercilessly: He won’t suspect anything because disappearing like this is a routine he’s all too familiar with. In his eyes, I’m just—
Footsteps on the stairs shake you from your theorizing, and you brace yourself for the sight of him. You hope to shrink yourself to a size so small and imperceivable that no one, not even the most keen, cutthroat killer, could find you. You succeed in huddling in on yourself, a ball of tightened nerves just waiting to unfurl at the slightest hint of danger. Sweat beads on your brow and slithers down your spine. The hair on your body stands on end, as if expecting the swift strike of a terrifying tragedy.
Something’s not right.
The knob turns. There he stands in the sliver of space between door and bedroom, backdropped by dim lamplight. He’s dressed plainly in a black hoodie and sweatpants of the same color. It’s arguably the most casual you’ve ever seen him look. And in his arms, held bridal style and slumped like a boneless fish, is a woman.
Your gaze is drawn to the way her shirt stretches tautly over her abdomen—over the rounded dome that is her stomach—and dread crystallizes your blood. Suppressing a shiver, you meet his stare. A smile slowly crawls onto his lips, and then he steps deeper into the bathroom, pulling the shower curtain aside and lowering the woman into the tub. Tape is plastered to her mouth, and her wrists and legs are bound with expert knots. Just looking at her and the state she’s in makes you sick with discomfort.
“Who… W-Who the hell is that?”
“A roommate,” he replies, all too smooth. “It’s only temporary, so you needn’t get so territorial.”
There’s no way. He’s actually planning to…
Bile rises in your throat, and before you can stop yourself you’re leaning over the toilet to retch. Saliva dribbles down your chin, landing in the bowl below in a downpour of gross, acidic rain. A petrifying tremor shudders through your body, and you steady yourself against the toilet, coughing until tears gather in your vision and your throat aches. You smack your hand against the handle to flush the physical manifestations of your horror away. Down it goes, never to be seen again.
“Your little parasite doesn’t seem very fond of her,” Jade remarks, standing over you like a patient reaper of death. “There can only be room for one, no?”
You crane your neck to peer at him. “F-Fuck you.”
He smiles thinly, his eyes creasing with manufactured mirth. “It’s just a coincidence.”
“Coincidence, my ass.” With a dark scowl, you wipe the spit from your mouth with a shaky hand. You drag yourself away from the toilet, tasting residual vomit on your tongue. “You can’t hurt her. She… She’s pregnant, Jade. There’s no way you can—”
“She isn’t you. If I recall, I only agreed to keep you alive.” Jade slips his gloves off, drapes them in the basin, and then lathers his hands with soap. His movements are mechanically meticulous, as if these motions have been preprogrammed. Even the way he dries his hands is unnatural. Too prim. Too perfect. “As far as I’m concerned, she’s nothing like you.”
“Why? Because she didn’t kick your ass when you showed up to kidnap her?”
Jade exhales an amused breath. “Of course not.” His eyes frost over when he turns his stare on you. “She never got the chance. Besides, if my ass had been sufficiently kicked, you wouldn’t be here right now.”
“I hope you choke on a fingerbone.”
“That would be most unfortunate. I’ll be sure to eat carefully.”
Peering at himself in the mirror, he smooths his hair down. You didn’t realize it was tousled to begin with. Now that you’re looking, his entire person seems…messy. Even that stray strand falls on the wrong side.
He definitely didn’t go to work, you conclude, studying his features from behind. He’s too casual. It’s hard to imagine Jade in anything other than uniforms. Did he go out with that lady? Maybe not. He seems like the type to dress nicely for dates. So a sweatshirt and sweatpants… They’re both easy to move around in, and he’s wearing dark colors to blend into the night. Did he grab her when she was least expecting it? He said she wasn’t given a chance to fight back, so a struggle was nonexistent.
You shake your head, unsatisfied with your deduction. I’m missing something. His appearance is messy, but he’s always so clean. So why is he messy? This isn’t making sense.
“How’d you find her? You must’ve planned this in advance.”
“I assure you I’m not seeing other women behind your back.”
“Like hell I’m jealous, you creep.”
He chuckles and leans against the sink, his arms folding easily. “A magician never reveals his secrets.” “Magicians and murderers are two different things.”
“Aren’t they skilled in making things vanish? Both captivate their respective audiences as well.”
“Do you not see how vastly different the two are?” Groaning, you rest your head against the wall. “Did you seduce her?”
“Someone’s curious.”
“What’s her name? Do you even know where she’s from or what she’s been through? You’re taking an entire life away, Jade.”
“Two, actually.”
“That’s even worse! Do you hear yourself right now? You’re insane!”
“Has it ever occurred to you that your morals might not have any influence on what I do?”
He’s doing this on purpose. He could’ve brought anyone home, but it just had to be a pregnant lady.
“You’re sick.”
“Do you truly think so?”
“No sane, healthy person would do this.”
Jade feigns a sad pout and wipes nonexistent tears from his eyes. “To hear you say such things… My heart breaks.”
I hope someone chops you up, you lunatic! Then you can know what it’s like!
“So what’s the plan? She’s stuck here like me?”
“Not for long.”
“You’re really going to kill her?”
“Is that not obvious?”
You glance at the tub. I have to do something. But what? You look around the bathroom, eyeing the frames, the sink, the toilet, the walk-in shower, the tiled floor… Can I kill him? Shatter one of the pictures, grab the biggest shard of glass, and then—
Jade bends down to your height. “You needn’t look so pensive. There’s nothing you can do, and if you try anything I’ll be sure to slaughter you in the most gruesome way at the end of these nine months.” He smiles like it’s not the most sinister threat. “And I’ll watch you bleed out slowly while I cut your skin away in delicate slivers. So if you value a quick, painless death, do yourself a favor and keep your hands to yourself.”
You drag your legs into your chest. You sick freak. His eyes crawl down your face to observe your bandaged ankle. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
“That should be enough of a reminder.”
“I’m not stupid. I’m not going to do anything. I can’t.”
I want to, though. I have to.
But there’s the shackle and the chain, restricting your movement and trapping you in the bathroom. There’s also the very heartless serial killer, who values your life as much as one does a meal. Voraciously. That’s as far as his sympathy extends. He doesn’t care about you or your nonexistent baby. You’re not even a person.
To him, you’re just supermarket meat plucked from the street. The most dangerous game he’s ever hunted.
“Good to know.” Pleased with your submission, he rises to his usual height and makes for the door. “Does it hurt?”
“A little.”
“Allow me to retrieve some painkillers.”
“If it puts me to sleep—”
“Rest assured. I have no intention of doing that. Too much and you may never wake again. That, and I’d prefer a meal without unnecessary baggage.”
“Then don’t drug me if you want fresh, healthy meat.”
He says nothing, merely smiling in reply, and departs through his bedroom. You listen to his retreating steps and then, after determining he’s made it downstairs, you drag yourself over to the tub. You yank the tarp-turned-curtain aside and peer down at her.
“Excuse me?” You reach in to nudge her arm. “Miss, are you awake? Please wake up.”
She doesn’t stir. Your gaze sweeps over her face. She doesn’t look bruised or battered. In fact, she’s in much nicer shape than you were when Jade took you.
It couldn’t have been a date or any sort of formal event. Not by chance either… So what is it? What am I not seeing?
You stare at her bump and frown. I’m pretending to be in her position, but she’s actually pregnant. If anyone deserves to get out of this alive, it’s her and her baby.
You shake that thought out of your head next, replacing it with something detached. You have to be logical. In tragic situations, it’s everyone for themself. What if your roles were swapped? Would she feel the same? You’d hope so, but maybe she’d be just like you—someone who’d do anything to survive, even if that was at the cost of another’s sacrifice. It’s not fair, but there’s nothing you can do. She’s doomed.
“Fuck,” you mutter, curling your fingers around the lip of the tub.
I can’t watch an innocent woman die. I have to do something.
Footsteps draw near. You scramble to your corner. Jade returns with two tablets and a glass of water. You down the painkillers in one gulp.
If it knocks me out, at least I won’t have to see anything.
You rest your forehead against your knees. “I wish Azul was here.”
Why am I saying that? Do I really want him here? Maybe Cater would be better. Or Riddle. Anyone but Azul.
“My apologies. The withdrawal must make you feel immensely itchy.” He peers at the tub. You realize you forgot to pull the tarp back to its original place. “Consider this the beginning of your detox.”
“You’re selfish, you know that? I have my entire life ahead of me. I have—” you rub the cold sapphire set into the ring on your finger— “I had a wedding to look forward to. Someone I was going to marry. A baby! And you…” Before you can stop yourself, the tears are falling. Weeks of pent-up emotions overflow. You wipe hopelessly at your face, feeling pathetic for crying in front of him when he could care less, but the rivers continue running. “Y-You fucking took that away from me! And I can’t—it’s all so you can feed yourself.”
You dig the heels of your palms into your eyes and weep like a child. The voice in your head soothes you: You have time. You can still get out of this.
When you pull your arms away, you find Jade gazing at you. “If I’m as selfish as you say, what does that make you?” He pulls his sweatshirt up and over his head, and then you see it. The dress shirt.
A pit opens in your stomach. You feel sickness scraping at your throat again, and the sensation persists when he shucks his sweats next.
All this time, he was in formal attire…
“I have no interest in your affair with Azul. Rather, I find the entire thing quite circular. You were loosely attached once, but now you’re engaged. And then what? Are you going to run away when he does something unfavorable? You have the makings of a most atrocious bride.” Casually, as if this is a conversation held over afternoon tea, Jade folds the clothes and sets them on the towel rack. “I suppose that is just the nature of love. You return like the leashed pet you are and you let him love you because you are just as foolishly fond.”
That’s not true. You’re wrong. I don’t love him. I’ve never loved him.
“Ah, but this is just mere speculation based on what I’ve witnessed.”
“Stalker.”
“Not quite. Do you know how many times I’ve helped you—drunk, dazed, vulnerable you—and you never thought otherwise? I put you to bed. I did your laundry. I stayed by your side and cooked breakfast in the wake of your hangover. For so many years, I’ve beheld the (Name) who thinks she’s loved by all because she doesn’t love herself enough.” At your horrified expression, he laughs. “You like to babble when you’re inebriated. It’s very entertaining… What was it you told me a few months ago? That you’re a nothing human with an empty, ugly heart who isn’t worthy of Azul’s boundless generosity. That you pawn it for lust disguised as love because you can’t afford the real thing. That you—”
He sidesteps the glass you throw at him. It hits the floor and shatters with a splash. Glass shards slide across slick tiles. He watches you silently, his countenance unreadable.
“Shut up!” Odium darkens your face. You inhale a ragged breath, collecting what’s left of your tattered ego, and add in a shaky voice, “You don’t know me. You’ve never known me.”
“Perhaps not.” Jade leans down to smile at you. He’s close, but he doesn’t touch you. You challenge him with a mean scowl. “But I will soon.”
Before you can question that, a soft groan interrupts your discussion. Your head snaps over in the direction of the tub. Jade does much the same, only he moves slower. There’s a pregnant pause, tension crackling in the air, and then there’s movement. The woman struggles in the bath, her screams muffled against the tape. You wince, understanding her horror.
I know what that’s like.
Jade helps her sit up. She resists, shaking her head desperately and shrinking away from his hands as if they’re something monstrous. They are, technically. Her eyes meet yours then. Even though it’s a wordless exchange, everything you need to know shines on her tear-stained face. Her brows are pinched together in stressed disbelief. She’s trembling.
“If you promise to be quiet, I’ll remove the tape.”
Upon hearing that familiar phrase, you shudder. It seems to have the same effect on the woman. She looks at him and whimpers.
“P-Please listen to him,” you speak up, nodding encouragingly. “Don’t fight. It’ll make it worse.”
She spots your bandaged ankle and gazes at Jade with new terror shining in her brown eyes. They’re very pretty. Big and beautiful, almost like marbles. To think the last things she’ll ever see with such doll-like eyes are a hungry monster and a hapless captive.
Jade peels the tape off slowly and, unlike you, she keeps her mouth shut. A wise decision. You don’t want to think about what he might do to keep her quiet.
“There. That wasn’t so hard, was it?” Jade sets the sliver of tape aside. “Now then, I believe introductions are in order.”
“I… I don’t understand,” she whispers, pressing herself against a corner of the tub. “Why am I here? You told me you’d take me to a doctor. Y-You said you’d help me—”
“He’s a liar.” You fold your arms over your chest and huff. The woman’s expression falls. “It’s not your fault. I thought he was good, too.”
“So then—I’m just—why am I here? W-Why are you here?”
Jade steps in front of you to block your view of the distraught woman. “(Name) is my housemate—”
“Not by choice.”
“Still a housemate nonetheless,” he continues. “You’re here because I’m in need of a meal.”
“You’re…hungry? Is that… You’re serious? Is that really what this is about?” She shifts awkwardly in her restraints. You feel bad for her, even more so when you catch the hope bleeding into her voice. “Then, if that’s the case, I’ll cook something for you and you can let me go!”
Jade shakes his head.
You peer past his legs at her. “He’s going to kill and eat you.”
He frowns at you. “And I was intending to bask in the suspense…”
“You’re the worst. Genuinely.”
“I don’t understand… You’re…” She looks between you and Jade. Her eyes gloss over with fresh tears. “You’re going to kill me…”
“Indeed. Ah, but don’t look so disheartened. So long as you continue being good, I’ll grant you a painless death.”
“N-No way… I… I don’t wanna die. Please. M-My baby—I can’t—”
She breaks off with a choked sob. You watch her crumble without a word. It hurts to see her shoulders shake with every rattling inhale. It hurts even more knowing you’re just as stuck but temporarily spared. You glance at Jade to gauge his reaction. Like always, it’s impossible to read him. He’s always been like that, even before you found yourself trapped here. Smiling so sweetly, as if he isn’t a murderer, he would speak to you like a normal person, tease you like a friend, care for you when Azul couldn’t. You were so certain he was your friend—not just by way of association through Azul either.
He hid it—this massive, life-altering skeleton—like an expert. How did you miss it? What did you fail to catch?
Nothing. Because he never gave any indication of what was locked up behind unassuming closet doors.
Now you know better. So does this woman.
“I won’t tell anyone. I promise I won’t, so please let me go. Please, sir. My baby…”
Jade remains unfazed. “(Name) already tried those lines. Care to guess how well they worked?”
Landed me nine months on death row.
She hangs her head in defeat. “I can’t believe it… I’m actually… This is it.”
You rest your head against the wall and sigh. Jade stares a moment longer before striding to the door.
“I’ll give you time to get acquainted.”
With that, he shuts the door. It’s very obviously a test. He’s probably waiting on the other side, listening in to learn what sort of incriminating information you might share. Not that it matters if she hears it. She’ll take all of this new knowledge to the grave or, in more literal terms, Jade’s stomach.
“I’m sorry you’re caught up in this,” you murmur, tracing invisible circles into the floor. “What’s your name?”
“M-Marisa.”
You glance at her. “It’s beautiful just like you.”
“Oh. Well, t-thank you.” She offers you a shy smile. “My mother named me after the sea. It was her favorite place to visit whenever she needed inspiration. She was an artist, and the sea was her biggest muse.”
“That’s sweet. I wish I knew the lore behind my name.”
“It’s still pretty without the backstory.”
“I guess so.”
I never really put much thought into my name. Does it matter if it’s pretty or ugly?
“Actually… It’s kinda ironic. I don’t like the sea. It scares me, so I stay away from it.”
“The sea itself or what’s in it?”
“Both?” She attempts an awkward shrug. “There are scarier things out there, but there’s something unsettling about the ocean. Maybe I’m silly for thinking that.”
“You’re not. It’s normal to be scared of things we don’t understand.” Like right now. But you keep that part to yourself. “I can’t relate. I love the sea. The lost history, the creatures, the mysteries… It’s all so fascinating.”
“Really? You’re braver than I am!”
“I’m just way too passionate. That’s all.”
Am I? I said I’d be a marine biologist and that’s what I’ve been studying all this time. But…
Marisa sighs. “You’re lucky. I’ve always wanted to find something I could be passionate about.”
“I’m sure you’ll find something one day.” And then you pause. “Or… Um.”
She pastes another hollow smile on her face. “I thought I could be passionate about school, but I couldn’t do it. I dropped out and tried a few jobs. Everyone told me it’d be easier to get married instead of running around like a headless chicken, but that didn’t feel right. I thought I’d be passionate about things like motherhood and babies, but I dunno. I’m already so far along, but I haven’t felt anything yet. No excitement or anxiety. Just emptiness. And I know that’s a terrible thing to feel and think—we’re supposed to love the things we create! I don’t even think I truly love my boyfriend. I’m horrible—I know!”
“You’re not horrible. The truth is—” You stop yourself before the words can slip out. I don’t love Azul. I’m not even pregnant. “I don’t know if you’ll ever figure any of that out, but I know you’re a good person. You obviously care about these things. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be so worried.”
Marisa sniffles. “Thanks…”
“I can help you find your passion. There’s so much to do in the city. I’m sure something will catch your interest. Oh! Have you ever been to Siren’s Heartache? It’s a karaoke place. My friend and I used to go all the time.”
“I’ve been there once!”
“It’s amazing, isn’t it? My friend would order the craziest stuff off their menu. He hates sweets, but he’d get all kinds of sugary drinks and snacks for the hell of it. Said it didn’t matter because it’d look cute on camera, so no one needed to know if he enjoyed it.”
“He did it for the pictures? That’s it?”
“Yep! He loves photography. He’ll do anything to make sure he gets the best angles and lighting.”
“Wow… I don’t think I could be that dedicated.”
“No? Then what about schedules? My other friend used to be on these super rigid schedules. I’m sure he’s still on them now, but back then it was really suffocating. He’s always been so organized, though. It’s impressive.”
“Isn’t that too restrictive? Doesn’t he have any time for fun?”
“Would that be better? A free life filled with ups and downs or a rigid life you can plan around?”
“Both sound just as bad.”
“Isn’t that just life?”
She breathes a sardonic laugh. “From a pessimist’s perspective, sure.”
“What kind of life would you want?”
“Is it bad to say I want something easy?”
“No fair. You totally stole my answer!”
“Then maybe we’re both bad.”
“Yeah…” You stretch your legs out and flex your toes on your good foot. If that’s bad, then I’m the worst. “I guess we are.”
She giggles. “You’re supposed to disagree!”
“Oh, oops. Sorry.”
“It’s fine. I don’t think it’s so bad to want an easy life. If it were up to me, I’d want it to be like one giant tea party. That way everyone can come together for tea and tiny cakes.”
“And you wouldn’t have to work, so who cares if you’re rich or poor!”
“Exactly! There aren’t any expectations. You can be good or bad. Empty like me or passionate like you. It’s all just conversation at the end of the day.” She gazes at you, and her features relax into a real smile. “I wish we could’ve met sooner. You seem like a fun friend.”
Am I really? I feel like I’ve been nothing but trouble for Riddle and Azul. Even Cater…
You hum your acknowledgement before nodding towards her belly. “Have you thought of any names?”
“Nothing yet. I’m not very creative and I don’t want anything basic either. Something memorable would suffice.”
“Like your name.”
“Right! Only nothing connected to the sea.” Marisa chuckles sheepishly. “It wouldn’t mean anything to me.”
“Maybe it doesn’t have to mean anything significant. As long as it comes from the heart and you like it, it should be fine. At least, I think that’s how it works.”
“I have no idea. This is my first time.”
You nod. Somehow it feels like I’m indirectly lying to her…
“You’ll find a name that sticks one day. When you do, let’s get together and celebrate.”
“At the Siren’s Heartache?”
“Wherever you’d like.”
She gasps. “How about a tearoom? There’s this really cute one just outside the city. I go there all the time. The owners are the nicest people I’ve ever met! If we go, we can have our own tea party. You can bring your friend who likes photography. I’m sure he’ll get lots of pretty pictures.”
That’s impossible. We both know there’s no chance of—
“Marisa!” She startles at the urgency in your tone. You look and sound as if you’ve just cracked a cold case. “That’s it!”
“What is?”
“Your passion! Tea parties!”
“I always thought that was more of a hobby…”
“You can be passionate about hobbies. I’ve never gone to a tea party myself and I don’t know what that involves aside from drinking tea and eating snacks, but it sounds like a good time.”
“Oh, it’s the best time! I love dressing up for it, too. On nights when I knew I’d be going the next day, I arranged my outfit in advance. What jewelry I’d wear, what makeup I’d put on, what purse I’d bring… I could spend hours trying on my clothes and picking different pieces. And their afternoon tea sets—they’re everything! You have to try it if you go! I love their egg sandwiches. Well, everything they serve is delicious.”
Your lips quirk up in a playful grin. “See? You’re not empty.”
Stunned, Marisa sits there in the bath. “You’re right,” she mumbles. “I never realized it, but I love tea parties. I love talking with people over food and drinks. I guess it came so easy to me and I did it so often that I didn’t think anything of it.”
“Maybe we can add ‘socialization’ to the list of passions?”
She laughs, her hair bouncing with the movement. It comes right from her chest—authentic amusement—and it’s a musical sound. You wish there was another way. Jade may have shown you mercy, but you’re certain it won’t be the same for her. Even with these unlucky odds, you’re determined to try. It’s the only thing you can do. Try and hope that something goes well.
You gesture for Marisa to turn around. She almost questions you, but you hold your index up to shush her. She stares at you, her lips pressed in a tight line, and nods her understanding. As quietly as she can, she shuffles in the tub until her back is facing you.
“Hey, what’s this tearoom called again?” you ask as you reach for the biggest glass shard.
“It’s called Portobello.”
“Like the mushroom?”
“Mhm! It’s forest-themed. They’re famous for their chaga tea.”
“Huh…”
Of course it’s mushrooms. You glance at the door. Do you hear that, you freak? Sounds like the perfect place for a mushroom fanatic like yourself.
“Do you like mushrooms?”
“They’re okay. I don’t eat them often. I have so many other foods I prefer…” You trail off as you saw through thick rope with the jagged glass. “Actually, there was this one time I got fried chicken from the city. I was stupid drunk and nothing was open, so my fiancé took me to a convenience store. It was cheap, but it was so yummy! I guess everything is when you’re that gone… Anyway, he was so mortified when I woke up the next morning wanting more. That was the only thing I remembered from that night.”
“Why was he so embarrassed? I think convenience store food is great!”
“Right? You understand it.” You sigh and shake your head, recalling that memory with startling clarity. “Azul is… It’s hard to explain.”
“But you’re engaged?”
“I’m crazy, aren’t I? Marrying a man who gets flustered over fried chicken from the convenience store. He ate it in a fancy suit, too. What a weirdo.”
“He sounds funny.”
“The funniest. It was our first year together as…contractual obligations. He was so determined to make a good impression that he banned junk food from his life. We broke that dumb rule that night. I think that was the first time I saw the real him. He’s cute when he blushes.”
“Contractual obligations? Why not partners?”
You cough awkwardly. “J-Just an inside joke. He’s a businessman.”
“Ah, that makes sense.” She flexes her fingers just as you manage to cut through the first knot. “That’s sweet.”
“What?”
“You and him.”
“What about us?” Your hand hesitates, gripping the shard with new force. Any tighter and you might slice your palm open.
“You must’ve been so hungry, and he went out of his way to make sure you were fed even if it meant breaking his rule.”
“That was just—he hates having to owe people stuff. He was just repaying a favor.”
“My mother used to tell me a good man will visit for your best, but a great man will stay for your worst and everything in between.”
“I…guess.”
No way Azul likes me at my worst.
You shut your mouth and resume your previous motions. With her hands now freed, you lean over the tub to work on the rope binding her ankles.
“What about your boyfriend? You said you’re not sure if you love him?”
“I don’t know what I want. We’re happy being together without any rings or ceremonies, but I feel like that’s not enough. I feel like I’m not enough.”
“Maybe you should take your mother’s advice.”
“I will when you do.”
“H-Hey!”
She giggles. “I’m kidding. I think… I’m glad you have someone who cares. It’s no fun being alone all the time. Sometimes it’s good to share your peace with others, even if that’s getting fried chicken from the convenience store with a weird guy on a chaotic night.”
You laugh, but it comes out choked.
Yeah, Azul’s weird.
And then the first tear lands on her foot. It isn’t long before more rush forth, blurring your vision. You manage to cut her free from the rope just before it becomes impossible to see clearly. When you meet her stare next, she smiles. It’s strained with sorrow.
Why are you crying? She’s just a stranger.
You throw your arms around her and sob quietly into her shoulder. She runs her hand along your back. It’s meant to soothe, but all it does is remind you of the limited time you have with her.
I’m crying because she’s a stranger. Because she’s someone I’ll never be able to know more than this.
“Escape,” you whisper as you pull away, pressing the shard into her hand. “And when you do, wait for me and we’ll have our giant tea party.”
She nods, her eyes shimmering with sadness. “You can count on it.”
When Jade returns, syringe in hand, it’s to a room of suffocating silence. You’ve no idea what its liquid contents are, but it can’t be very pleasant or safe. Regardless, you don’t intend to find out. He steps through the door, looks squarely at you, and smiles. Your skin crawls.
Calm down. It’ll be okay.
“You took your time.”
“Did I? My apologies if I kept you waiting.”
“Have you ever had mushroom tea before?”
He pauses. “Mushroom tea?”
So he wasn’t listening in. Either that, or he’s just hesitating for effect.
“I’ve never had it before, but I’d assume someone with your palate would’ve tried it.”
He laughs humorlessly. “Is there a reason for this assumption?”
“You like mushrooms. Sounds like something that’d be right up your alley.”
“You would be correct.” Jade taps the needle, eyeing the liquid within the plastic cylinder. “I’ve had it before, yes.”
“Was it good?”
“Quite.”
His gaze drifts towards the empty tub and you panic. “W-Will you bring some for me to try?”
He blinks at you. An amused smile pulls his lips apart.
You can’t stop the scowl that forms on your face. “I can’t control what the baby wants.”
Just a little longer… Keep your eyes on me.
“I’d love nothing more for you to try it.”
“But?”
“But there isn’t nearly enough credible information detailing whether chaga is safe to consume while pregnant. It would be very unfortunate if you injured your parasite on account of my negligence.”
“Someone did their research.”
“Indeed.”
“So what’s a good substitute? I want mushroom tea.”
“Pouting about it won’t fix anything.” He reaches to pull the curtain away, and you lurch forwards. The chain rattles. You pause with outstretched arms. Jade watches you with a frown. “Is something the matter?”
You lower your arms. “No… N-No, sorry. Nothing’s wrong. I’m just…hungry.”
“As am I, so if you could stop stalling for her sake I would appreciate it.”
A bone-chilling cold blankets the bathroom.
Your laugh comes out brittle. “Who’s stalling?”
It happens so fast you wish it was slow motion. Maybe then your reaction time would’ve been better. Marisa springs out from behind the door just as Jade turns to view her. She shoves him with as much strength as she can muster, swiping at him with the glass shard. Somehow she manages to drive it into his arm. Taken by surprise, he grunts and shakes her off. The syringe clatters to the floor and you dive to snatch it before he can. With Jade temporarily thrown off, Marisa flees from the room as quickly as she can. You look on with wide eyes, the syringe clutched in a tight fist.
She’s doing it… She’s actually escaping!
Jade curls his fingers around the glass lodged in his skin and rips it out. Blood spurts from the cut, crawling down his arm in a red slither. The chunk rests on the tiles in front of you, and it fills you with a proud satisfaction knowing he’s injured, if only partially. By the time you’ve blinked, he’s already hurrying towards Marisa. She’s about to wrench the bedroom door open, her freedom just beyond the confines of his home, but he seizes her wrist and yanks her away.
Just like the syringe in your hand, your heart drops.
She yelps and twists in his hold, flailing blindly. The scene is eerily reminiscent of your scuffle with Jade—the one you’d gotten into when he revealed himself as the intruder in your apartment. You were drunk then, wholly incapable of fending him off, but Marisa isn’t. She has a chance. She can escape. There has to be a way for—
You watch her fall, cringing at the resonating thud as her back makes contact with the floorboards. Jade’s hands are around her throat before you even know it.
“N-No… Wait. Wait, stop!” You lurch towards them, but the chain only allows you to go so far. You strain against the pull, grabbing at the door frame in hopes of breaking out of the shackle’s restrictive hold. “Jade—”
Marisa’s choked gasp cuts you off. You stare at her hands as they claw at Jade’s in animalistic desperation. Her eyes are so wide you see white; her mouth is open in a silent scream. With Jade on top of her, pinning her to the floor and squeezing her neck with ruthless precision, she can only kick her legs out and produce a haunting garble of sounds as she battles an impossible enemy.
“Stop! Let go of her!”
You grit your teeth and tug against the cuff. It digs into your skin and leaves you aching from the sting. Tears sprout along your lash line, and you cry out in pained frustration. Your agony doesn’t reach Jade’s ears. Or maybe it does and he’s just tuning it out. You’re unsure until you catch sight of his expression. A blank, empty slate—that’s what he is. There’s something murderous smoldering in terrifying two-toned eyes, but his lips are pressed in a firm pout and his brows are pinched together. Not from any sort of distress but, rather, from the physical exertion. His forearms flex, every muscle riddled with tense adrenaline, and his fingers dig into her throat to cut her circulation.
From where you stand, struggling against your restraints, you think his pupils are blown wide. He looks predatory. Unhinged in a feral sort of way. Like a wild animal who’s just pounced on his prey…
A wild animal. That’s what he is right now. Something unbound by human morals and law. A creature led only by instinct—by the intrinsic desire to slaughter and feast.
“Jade!” You give another determined tug to no avail. “Jade, please—you can’t do this! She’s pregnant! She has a boyfriend—a life! You can’t!”
Your voice is shrill, scratching through your vocal chords as if it intends to shred them to ribbons. You’ve never heard yourself sound so panicked before. Never known the crushing devastation of being so close and yet so powerless.
No matter how much you scream, Jade continues to strangle her. You can’t bear to watch any longer. Sinking to the floor, you lean against the wall and press your hands to your ears. You don’t want to hear Marisa’s wheezing breaths. You don’t want to see her struggle. You don’t want to see Jade as he kills her in front of you.
You don’t want to be a witness. You want out.
After minutes of torturous asphyxiation, her thread of life is snipped and she finally fades away. Moments later, urine soaks through her shorts and pools beneath her in a puddle. You look up just in time to see him release her and rise to his full height. Heaving a sigh, Jade tucks his dark hair strand behind his ear. Marisa lies lifeless, a husk of the once bright, bubbly woman you interacted with before this. Now she’s gone.
“Y-You’re a monster…” you manage through thick, anguished sobs.
He killed her. She’s…dead. Jade killed her. I just watched her die and there was nothing I could do and I…let it happen.
“This could’ve been avoided. I was going to give her an easy death, but you forced my hand.” Jade steps around you to pick the syringe up. “Let’s add another rule to our list. Seeing as I’m not allowed to touch you, it’s only fair that you keep your nose out of my work in return.”
Dead… She’s dead. Marisa is…
“Does that sound agreeable, (Name)?”
There’s a ringing in your ears—the warning tick of a clock or the foreboding chime of a death knell. Amidst every overwhelming sensation and haywire emotion, self-preservation echoes in your head: I’ve got to get out of here.
You blink through blurring vision. Are you crying? Numbly, you touch your face. The tears are there, wetting your cheeks in copious amounts. Something’s scratching at the back of your eyes. It’s not enough to feel like sleep, but it’s a familiar sensation. You’re certain you’ve felt it before. But when?
You can’t stop crying.
She’s dead. She’s dead. She’s dead. She’s dead.
You suck in gulps of air.
I should’ve done more. I could’ve done more! There had to have been something—logically. You have to look at it logically. She was doomed to die the moment Jade brought her here.
You dig your nails into your arms.
We were going to have a tea party. I was going to help her find more passions. We were going to be friends…
You watch Jade bend down to her height and press two fingers to her neck. Suddenly, there are two Jades and both are tilting. He glances at you, but his words don’t reach your ears.
I was going to save her.
Your head hits the floor with a thump. The world goes dark.
Tumblr media
Unlike previous times, the dream aquarium is bursting with life today. Moon jellyfish float peacefully behind sturdy glass. A manta ray glides smoothly through the water in laps. Fish of all colors and shapes are caught up in the current. The glow from the tanks dyes the hall in a cool ultramarine.
It’s quiet here. Safe. Comforting.
You’re lying on the floor, dressed in a clean hospital gown, and there is an entire galaxy of jellyfish above you. They’re set into the glass ceiling, their translucent bodies bobbing up and down in hypnotic patterns. You blink once and the blue brightens as if breathing alongside you. You blink again and this time a woman pokes her head into your visual field. Her milky-white eyes, though piercing, don’t frighten you. She blinks one eye at a time and her irises explode with color—now a vibrant green. Her long, black hair is tied back in a braid that sweeps over her shoulder. Tiny stars are twined throughout.
When she speaks, she has the same voice as the woman from the intercom.
“Today’s color is blue. As vast and wide as the sky and sea, as deep and dark as water’s soul, blue is the color of trust and sincerity. It is the color of bruises and sadness. It is the color of loneliness. It is the color that has finally led me to you.”
You stare at her, spooked speechless.
“Hello again, (Name).” She smiles and offers her gloved hand. “It’s been a while. Many years, in fact. I thought I’d never be able to catch you.”
You hesitate. Can you trust her—the woman you’ve spent so many dreams pursuing? There’s no one else here in this hall. She’s your only option. Swallowing your fears, you grab her hand and allow her to hoist you to your feet.
“My name is Marmoris. Ah, I must inform you that I’ve taken the form of someone familiar, so please note that this isn’t the current me. My true form is…not very pleasant. I wouldn’t want to startle you with it.”
“The current you? Your true form?” You draw away from her and bump into the tank behind you. Turning around, you gaze at the image slowly forming within murky waters. It’s…Jade’s bathroom. And there’s Jade, stooped over Marisa’s corpse. He’s looking at you next. You place your hand against the glass, but the scene doesn’t disappear. “W-What is this? What’s going on?”
Marmoris joins you at the tank. Her reflection warps with a myriad of aquatic traits. At one point, you think you see fins where her ears ought to be—shadows of wispy tendrils where her lab coat once was. “You’ll have to forgive me. There was no other way. You’ve already seen too much.” She shuffles closer to you. Her hands cover your eyes next. “Please don’t look. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
You squirm out of her hold. The picture presented in saltwater clouds in and out of clarity. “Protect me? I don’t understand. What do you mean by—”
“There’s not much time. I can’t keep you in here any longer than I already have.” She grabs hold of your hands and squeezes them. She looks sincere enough, but you can’t get past the fact that, though she claimed to take on the appearance of someone familiar, you can’t recognize this woman’s features.
She’s a stranger.
Before you can protest further, Marmoris leans in close and presses a kiss to your forehead. Her lips are frigid. The transient security of the desolate dream aquarium melts away, taking you with it.
“I promise I’ll explain everything the next time we meet. When we do, look for me. I’ll be waiting.”
Tumblr media
You jerk awake with a gasp. Your hands fly to your throat on instinct. Slowly, while catching your breath, you peer around the bathroom. Marisa has been moved to the tub and Jade’s in the process of cleaning the floor. He glances at you. His arm is bandaged.
“Welcome back.”
You shoot him a withering look. “Eat glass and die.”
“Wouldn’t that please you?”
“It would,” you whisper weakly, more tears spilling over. “It really would.”
For the first time in a while, you can’t recall any slivers of your dream.

hello !! If you don't mind could you do a Bad Sanses + Star Sanses x Fem!Model!Reader who cause a pure chaos in her AU caused the end of her world just because she were bored , like , mass murder , brainwashing , abuse , torture , manipulation , world war and a lot of bad thing in this type , if you don't mind of course !
Hello! I do not mind in the slightest! Enjoy! :D
MASTERLIST
BAD SANSES AND STAR SANSES X CHAOTIC MODEL READER
NIGHTMARE:
You sealed your fate, the moment you decided to act the way you do. He could sense your negativity a mile away.
You're forced against your own will to work for him. (Much like all the others)
You two don't really have much "bonding" time, so the start of your relationship is kinda rocky.
You're actually proving to be very useful for him and the team, so he'll promote you.
Congratulations! You're now working alongside him! How lucky.
(He definitely didn't paired the two of you on purpose. Noo, that's ridiculous!)
He probably won't care that you're a model, at first. After he'll get to know you better though- oh he'll buy every magazine you're on, every single thing that has your face on it, he'll own it.
He's actually proud of you. And he'll even say it out loud! (NOW YOU KNOW THIS MF IS IN LOVE, HE NEVER ADMITS TO BE ACTUALLY PROUD OF SOMEONE)
Will give you anything you ask for. In need of money? Sure. You want to buy this? He's got it covered babe.
KILLER:
Killer knew you way before he even met you. He's a fan lmao.
He seriously owns EVERY magazine you're in, and listened to every podcast you did. He's obsessed.
It's his guilty pleasure to stalk you online-
Imagine his surprise when he met you while he was on his mission. He was supposed to destroy an AU, along with Horror and Dust helping him, but after he saw you?? His idol? His favorite model?? THE ONE HE YEARNED SO MUCH FOR-
He got completely distracted, not fulfilling the mission, and instead asking you for an autograph.
He's so shocked when he sees you doing all that chaotic shit. You killed people? Brainwashed them? Manipulated them? DESTROYED A WHOLE UNIVERSE?! Wait...YOU DID THAT JUST BECAUSE YOI WERE BORED?!? You just became even more cooler.
Killer fell more obsessed in love with you.
DUST:
Lmao, he hates you. And not because you're a model, but because you're so chaotic.
Seriously, one Nightmare is enough 🙄
He's one of the "quiet but could kill you if wanted" types. So he'll just silently give you a side eye, all while glaring at you, when you're yapping next to him.
You try to get closer to him, and he's all like "Take one more step closer, I dare you"
And then you still get closer to him... And then he finds himself slowly falling into the deep pit you call love.
Even if your relationship had a rocky start, Dust will warm up to you after getting closer to you.
Now, he actually finds himself wanting your closure.
Will still shake his head whenever you do something chaotic, but if you payed closer attention, you could see a blush and a smile covering his hidden face.
HORROR:
Horror doesn't really understand the whole concept of modelling, but he'll like it, because you look so pretty while doing it! ^^
Likes your chaotic side. He watches you with a wide smile whenever you're doing something chaotic.
He's often encouraging you to even do them!
Will support anything you do, much like Nightmare, he'll give you anything you ask for.
Except he doesn't have near as much money as Nightmare, so he'll be a little limited.
But if you want something really bad, he'll save up some money for you to buy the thing you want, or if it's an item, he'll try to handmade it.
HC that Horror likes to do wood carving :)
Please tell him about your chaotic adventures, he'll thrive in them!
DREAM
You're a menace to society, and he's determined to change you.
He'll try to change the way you do certain things, or the way you think. Basically just nullify your chaotic side.
You're probably not listening to his scolding or tips most of the time though. 🤷‍♀️
Oh god...if you ever tell this man just WHAT you did... He'll destroy you right there.(In what way though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
He sees you as a potential threat. Seeing as you destroyed a universe, and just because you were bored too!
As for your modelling career, Dream won't pay attention to what you do, his whole attention is on how chaotic you are.
INK:
The gossip king right here folks.
He also, much like Killer, already knows about your modelling career.
Why? He lives off of the drama. (There's quite a lot involving you, because you're so chaotic 💀)
He'll also ask for your autograph the moment he sees you.
He'll always laugh out of glee whenever you tell him about something chaotic you did.
There's no way to really "shock" him, unless you tell him that you know the purpose of his vials... No one was supposed to know what use the vials have for him, and you actually knowing?? He's feral.. and I don't mean it in a good way...
Other than his vials, there is really NO way of ticking him off. He's just unbreakable. 🤷‍♀️ (Probably cause he doesn't have real emotions-)
SWAP:
HE WANTS TO BE YOUR BODYGUARD!! (Say yes, or you'll never get rid of him..)
He likes to assist you in every way, anything you need, and he's up and ready to get it to you.
Swap sees the good in everyone, so when you tell him how chaotic you are, he won't give up on you! He's not like Dream, who'll want to change you, instead.. he'll want to understand why you're acting the way you do, and try to connect with you through that.
You and Swap probably get along really well, he really knows how to befriend people- I guess that's why he's called THE MAGNIFICENT SANS!
He'll be happy to protect you from any creeps that make you too uncomfortable, in fact- he'll probably protect you even before you could tell him.
Swap isn't one to brag, but he'll be happy to show off how strong he is. Carrying you around, holding your heavy bags, anything that requires extra strength- he's there. :)

Savior
(Tara Carpenter x fem! Riley! reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After you witnessed your dad's death, you weren't yourself anymore. But maybe all hopes weren't lost... Request are here and here (I have no idea if that's what both of you wanted ._.) Warnings: angst, blood, death (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
When your friend Tara got attacked by someone in a Ghostface costume, you immediately went to your dad for advice; he had dealt with Ghostface 4 times already, he was in the best position to help.
He told you the rules, the must do... everything you need to know. Of course, he tried to convince you not to stay here, to go with your mom in New York until it was over. But you were stubborn, almost as much as your mother - who, by the way, you were sure was not going to stay where she was with a new Ghostface in Woodsboro.
It was his advice that led you to stay in the hospital with Tara while everyone else was gathered at Mindy and Chad's.
"Don't let her alone, she's going to need support. The police are here to protect her, but she has no one to support her mentally." your dad had told you.
So you were here, sitting in an uncomfortable chair beside her, trying to distract and comfort her. You were not the best at it, but you tried. And she appreciated it. She was glad you were with her.
She was even more glad when the weird noises started. When no one answered her "hello?". When after that, exiting the room to reassure yourselves and find the police officer had become necessary. When you got back in her room, livid, after finding said officer's dead body.
You too were glad you were here to push her wheelchair towards the elevator and make sure she was okay.
Then, Ghostface attacked. You tried to throw things at him, buying Tara more time so she could reach the elevator. But soon, you got overpowered. Fortunately, at that moment, Sam and your dad arrived.
Dewey tried to shoot the killer, and knocked him out, before the 4 of you went to the elevator. Just as the doors were about to close, your dad stopped them, and stepped out, saying that Ghostface must be shot in the head.
As soon as he got out of the elevator, you knew it wasn't going to end well. And yet you thought you could change that and followed him.
Of course, you were wrong.
Your presence didn't prevent Ghostface to kill your dad. If anything, you were sure he took more pleasure doing it knowing you were here, helpless.
You felt as if everything was in slow motion. You knew you need to move, do something, anything, to save him. But it didn't matter how much you wanted to move; you were paralyzed by fear, by shock. Your body wasn't responding anymore.
You weren't even sure you were conscious, until you felt warm tears rolling down your face.
It was a nightmare. It had to be.
You were going to wake up soon, and everything would be okay.
You were trying to convince yourself, but deep down, you knew. You knew it was real.
The knife sinking in his chest, the blood staining his shirt and splattering on the floor, his body lying in a pool of blood... it was all real.
You couldn't take your eyes away from his bloody form, still hoping to see him sit up and shoot the killer. You were so desperate you hadn't noticed Ghostface coming toward you until you tasted blood in your mouth.
And even then, with a knife in the stomach, you were still not reacting.
The arrival of police officers didn't change anything; you were staring at your dad's corpse, dried tears on your face, a puddle of blood forming around you.
The rest of the day was a complete blur for you. You were unable to say what happened after your dad died, nor how you survived that night.
<><><><> ♡ <><><><>
A year after that day, you were still not doing so much better.
Your mom being always moving for her work, you moved out with Tara and the others to New York.
They had learnt pretty quickly not to let you alone; you almost got run over by a car at least 3 times when crossing the road and seemed to have no will to live whatsoever.
Truth was, you didn't care whether you lived or died. You were already dead inside. You didn't take any pleasure in doing anything. Nothing seemed to be able to make you feel better.
Except for Tara.
She was the only one you opened to since you dad died. The only one to make you feel safe. To make you feel anything at all.
And then, Ghostface appeared again, just when you started to think it things would get better, and your mom was between life and death.
All the progresses you had made with Tara were reduced to ashes.
"Y/n...?"
You looked up, hearing Tara's soft voice, as she placed a hand on yours.
"Don't worry, she's going to be okay. She's strong, she'll survive this. Now you must focus on yourself. I don't want to lose you..." she paused, seemingly thinking of how to phrase what she wanted to say "I know it's hard for you since last year but... Y/n, I- you're very important to me... much more than you could imagine..."
When she looked at you, her dark eyes were filled with something you never saw in them before. You were not quite sure what it was, but it was here.
As always when you were with her, your heart started beating faster. At this moment, it was like a bubble had formed around you. Nothing else existed anymore. It was just the two of you.
"I really want to kiss you right now... Is it okay...?"
You nodded slightly, almost instinctively.
One of Tara's hands snaked to the back of your neck while the other went to your cheek. She pulled you down a bit as she tilted her head up.
When your lips finally met, you felt a pleasant warmth flow through you. Her lips were soft against yours. The kiss was gentle, yet full of love. It felt right, so right.
"Tara, Y/n, we-"
You pulled away as you heard Sam's voice, a slight blush spreading across your face.
"Jesus, Sam...!" Tara hissed at her sister
"I'm sorry I ruined your moment, but we have other problems right now.. It was a trap, we're locked here, Kirby-"
She got cut off by Ghostface barging in the room, stabbing Tara in her back before any of you could react.
You felt something snap in you.
The barrier your father's death had built in you collapsed the moment Tara grunted in pain.
You couldn't protect your parents from Ghostface; this time, you would do anything to protect Tara. She lit up your world when you were alone in the dark. She gave you a reason to live, something to fight for.
And you would put all your strength in this fight.
As Tara fell in your arms, Ghostface tried to stab her again. You kicked him in the stomach, making him stumble a few meters away.
You took this opportunity to drag Tara towards the door, following Sam who already opened it. The three of you made your way to the main part of the shrine, when Ghostface jumped right in front of you.
He tried to stab you, but luckily you dodged the knife.
A chase started in the shrine; Ghostface was behind you, he didn't seem to give up, and was soon going to catch up to you.
With both Carpenter sisters' help, you managed to make him fall to the ground after throwing the popcorn machine to him. Tara even kicked him in the face -which you found kinda hot.
You grabbed a heavy object on the counter and were about to slam it on Ghostface's head, when you felt a blade sink in your side; another Ghostface had come from the shadows, and now both of them were stabbing you.
Tara tried to help you, but Sam held her back.
"Go." you managed to say, blood dripping down your chin, right before the two killers pulled their blades out of your abdomen
You fell forward, face first, and everything turned black.
When you regained consciousness, you were laying in a puddle of blood, alone. Your wounds hurt so bad. Every inch of your body hurt; you just wanted to lay here and sleep.
But a scream in the other room made your heart stop. Tara. She was in danger. You needed to get up and help her.
As much as you wanted to, your body didn't seem to want to move.
"Come on...! Just fucking get up Y/n...!" you told yourself, with gritted teeth
With a strangled scream, you managed to stand up. But you were weak, you could barely stand without something to support you.
Despite that, you started walking to the main room; the thought of Tara being in danger was enough to give you strength.
And when you saw Quinn attacking the brunette, you didn't feel the pain anymore. Or you didn't pay attention to it. The only thing that mattered was to save her.
You made your way towards them, grabbing a brick on a pile, and once you were close enough, smacked Quinn's head with it. The shock sent her to the floor, and she dropped her knife.
You were quick to take the weapon and grabbed the redhead by her hair. Even in this position, she had a wide, crazy grin on her face.
"Oh, Y/n. You're tougher than I thought. But are you strong enough to kill me before I end your girlfriend's life? Not so sure" she said, as she shoved two fingers in one of your wounds
You clenched your teeth not to give her the satisfaction of hearing you scream in pain.
"It hurts, doesn't it? I wonder if it will hurt that much when I'll sink my blade in her-"
"Don't you fucking dare." you growled, glaring at her
"Or what? You'll kill me? I don't think you will. You're too good for that. Your father wouldn't want that, would he? He's gonna be pissed from where he is if you-"
You didn't let her finish her sentence. In one swift motion, you slit her throat. Blood splattered on your face, before she fell to the ground.
You looked at her for a second, making sure she was really dead, before turning to Tara.
"You okay?" you asked
"Y-yeah, thanks to you..."
You nodded at her words.
"Great"
Immediately after saying that, your legs couldn't hold you anymore, and you collapsed on the floor, passing out again.
An undefined period of time later, voices around you made you open your eyes. You were on a stretcher, oxygen mask on your face. Surprisingly, you still were alive.
The paramedics made you exit the shrine, and Tara rushed to you as soon as she saw you. She took off your mask and kissed you, but quickly stopped when she realized you might need that oxygen.
"I was so worried about you..." she whispered
"I don't know why... I'm perfectly fine" you said jokingly
She rolled her eyes, but you could see she was smiling.
"I'm happy you've regained your will to live"
"It's all thanks to you..." you replied with a smile "Really, if I hadn't fell for you... I don't think I'd still be here"
"So I'm kinda like your savior, hm?" she asked with a slight smirk
"Yeah, you can say that" you chuckled
Tara's grin only got wider at your words. She placed a soft kiss on your forehead, before whispering
"I love you"
"I love you too, Tara"

serial killer! roman godfrey, inspired by the lana song, mentions of murder, death of loved ones, grief, post traumatic stress, suggestive and angst in general
Since the day she met Roman, Y/n felt fulfilled, on cloud nine. She couldn't ask for anything better; The most handsome man she had ever met, almost every day spoiled her with expensive gifts, love and care. He was a gentleman to her, and despite the rumors about his family in town, she really liked Roman for who he was, for who he showed himself to be to her. And he was never anything but great.
Except for the times that he wasn't.
They started going out at a vulnerable time for her, her mother had passed away just a few weeks ago. She was an emotional wreck. Grief was the worst pain she had ever felt, it sickened and burned her soul every day and nothing could cure it except bringing her mother back. Dating the boy was helping her distract herself. Not that she was using him as therapy, but having some comfort and someone to hug at a time like that helped her a lot.
They were together, in Roman's room, the atmosphere was heating up. They kissed passionately while Roman lowered the strap of her thin blouse, trying to get to her bra. Y/n had been trying to avoid intimacy as much as possible lately, she couldn't concentrate. Not when all that came to mind were the tragic memories of the night she arrived home and there were police officers all around her place, two coming up to her and telling her that the woman who had once carried her on her lap had been brutally murdered.
You only remember receiving the news, and nothing else from that night. It was all a big blur, and trying to remember only caused you pain and turned your stomach, you wanted to forget at all costs but it had terribly changed the way your brain works. It wasn't a nightmare or a movie, it had really happened and nothing would change that. The trauma would stay with you for the rest of your life.
The police were still investigating who was behind the heinous crime, and while there were no answers, you didn't have peace for any second of your days.
"Roman..." You said almost in a whisper. He seemed to awaken from a trance, his eyes were dark and it was noticeable how much he wanted the moment to go on. He raised his eyebrows a little, looking worried.
"Are you okay?" He asked. You told him to get off you and he did.
It was embarrassing to talk about it, even though you were there almost having sex, it was worse having to verbalize your feelings. It was more intimate for you, it seemed more vulnerable.
"I don't think I'm ready yet..."
He stared at you with an unreadable expression for a few seconds, making you nervous. He smiled slightly then.
"Hey" he ran his hand through your hair "We don't have to rush anything, I understand. Let's do it when you're really ready, hm?"
You sighed in secret relief and looked down at the floor.
"You know... I know you've been going through some terrible things, so if you want to vent or talk... Or anything." He placed his hand on top of yours.
"Thank you, Roman" you smiled sincerely. You'd never thought the rich boy would have such a generous heart. You felt bad for not being able to give him what he wanted, what he needed, you felt useless and immature. You didn't understood your own feelings or validate them, Roman had been nothing but great to you lately. And you couldn't reciprocate.
"Is there anything I can do to reward you?"
"What?" He looked at you confused "Reward me for what?"
"For not being able to have sex."
"Are you fucking kidding? God, you don't need to reward me for this" he looked directly into your eyes, intensely, so that you would trust his words. "I just want you, I want your presence."
He lifted your chin with one hand.
"I'm in love with you, darling. Truly, from the bottom of my heart...Not for carnal reasons."
She held his wrists affectionately, her shining eyes staring at Godfrey's beautiful face. She loved smelling him up close, not just his perfume. The scent of his breath, something like genetic compatibility. It was nice and familiar, sweet. Comfortable. It felt like home.
As much as she felt millions of things bubbling in her heart and stomach, she couldn't say anything. Instead, she kissed him.
"Can we take a shower together?" She asked, shyly.
He nodded. She didn't know what would happen inside, even though they had just discussed it. He ran his thumb across the apple of her cheek.
"Come with me."
Inside the shower, nothing happened, nothing directly. It was something sensual, provocative and intimate, but it didn't end there.
The hot water falling on you, your wet skin touching, hugging each other, the kisses on your neck and the sighs, the strong scent of a expensive lotion... It was the most erotic thing you had ever witnessed, honestly. You weren't a virgin, you had sex a few times before, but nothing ever with this intense energy surrounding both of you.
You felt your desire for him burning, even though you couldn't bring yourself to go forward. Your tongues danced together slowly and passionately, the taste of water, mint, the soft feeling of his lips, the warm tongues that fit together so perfectly and deliciously.
Roman's hands roamed all over your body, caressing, squeezing, whispering hot things in your ear. When he turned off the shower and dried off, you were both still full of desire, and Roman carried you to the bed, covered by the towel. He lay on top of you, and continued the hot kisses. He separated your lips for a few moments, caressing them with his fingers. You opened your mouth slightly, letting him touch your tongue.
You sucked his fingers and he closed his eyes for a few seconds.
"Can I relax you?"
You thought a little. It wasn't sex after all, was it? You had already masturbated before. And he wouldn't hurt you, he wanted to relax you, make you feel good. Nothing bad would happen to you.
You nodded, but you had already confirmed with your eyes without realizing it.
Roman used his wet fingers to trace your intimacy, massaging your clitoris slowly and delicately. You closed your eyes, reveling in the sensation. It wasn't like he needed to get his fingers wet, you were already fervently wanting it.
"Don't close your eyes, look here, at me" He said softly. You looked, embarrassed, but the shame soon gave way to the desire to beg for more.
"Can i put my fingers inside? Is that okay?"
"Yes... please."
Roman gave you two orgasms that night. One by fingering you and the other by oral sex. When you both recovered, you put on clothes and lay down to take a nap. The afternoon had gotten cold, you were tired due to so much erotic tension that was felt in the air, it was heavy, intense.
When you woke up, Roman wasn't in the room... You looked around the corner and there was no sign of him. You got up searching for your phone to see what time it was. Shit, you had promised your friends that you would go to the university party with them that night.
"You're awake," Roman said, bursting into the room. "I had to go out to sort out some things."
He was wearing a different outfit than the one he had put on to bed a few hours before.
"I have to go now, I promised Lily and Isabelle that I would go with them to a university party tonight"
"I'll take you" He smiled, and you stood up.
"You can take me home, I'll go from there to the party"
"No, never, I'll take you and pick you up."
"Why don't you go to the party with me?"
Roman seemed to think about the proposal.
"I don't think I'm in the mood to party"
"Me neither" You confessed without realizing "I want to go to have fun, distract myself. Dancing makes me happy"
He dropped you home, and it didn't took long for you to get ready. Your natural beauty didn't need many details, you're a natural highlight.
Throughout the party, Roman was silent. Y/n danced with her friends and for some moment, she felt truly happy for the first time in weeks. Her chest was soft from the laughter that had genuinely escaped from the inside out. She felt light.
Roman was sitting in a corner, watching the girl intensely. There was no expression on his face, except for his eyes that almost undressed her on their own.
The girl exchanged looks with him and smiled, but the smile was not returned. She felt her chest hurt a little, that damn feeling again. She decided to check if he was okay.
"Come on, let's dance" She smiled with her teeth. Roman continued to stare at her without any reaction, leaving her embarrassed. "Is everything ok?"
"I'm leaving. Text me when you want to go home, I'll call you a taxi"
She couldn't keep her smile after hearing that. Her heart throbbed. Had she done something wrong? Why did he change so much in a matter of a few hours?
"Are you mad at me?"
He completely ignored her sentence, turning his back and walking away. Leaving her there, standing there, with her heart in pieces.
She ran after him. "Roman!"
When they were outside, Godfrey took off his blazer and handed it to her. "It's cold, wear it."
"Roman, what's gotten into you?"
"I have some things to sort out"
"Can't we at least dance?"
He stared at her for an uncomfortable long time.
"No." And he got into the car. She was there, with tears in her eyes, hugging his blazer. She felt in panic, helpless, heartbroken. All the times he told her he love her, did he meant it after all? Why was he always changing his behaviour all of sudden?
She got into the party again, but Roman never leaving her mind. So in love that it felt like she would throw up.
Over the next few days, she heard nothing from Roman, no calls or texts, nothing. She didn't want to bother him, but her heart hurt so much, what happened?
One moment, they were experiencing intense touching at his mansion and suddenly he seemed to ignore her existence. He had done this before, but it never lasted longer than one day.
She was even more depressed. It would be the one-month anniversary of her mother's death, and now she had also abruptly cut ties with the person she was desperatedly in love with.
Could it be some personality disorder? One moment he wanted her and the next he didn't, and would that be the case? Were they bipolar episodes? Issues with his mother? God, she questioned herself so much that she felt like her head would burn at any moment.
That Thursday morning, the local police had gotten in touch to say that they possibly had new information about the killer. Y/n was in a mix of panic, anxiety, melancholy and perhaps a possible relief for imagining that justice was coming for the one who took her mother's life.
She just didn't expect to find out that Roman Godfrey was the main suspect. Not only for her mother's death, it was suspected that there was a serial killer around. And that the police was almost sure he was guilty for all of them.

I honestly don't know how it happened. I was just writing for a while and then it's just finished??? What's even going on?.. But whatever, please enjoy!
Also, please be careful, there's some self-deprecation here because Nightmare. Yeah.
。。。
Chapter 3
Nightmare lets Killer eat in peace, fleeing back to his room the moment he announces the need to go to the castle. It's such a risk — he just knows there'll be an ambush. The main gang left him easily, no strings attached, no words needed, but the others… Some will riot. Make him pay for how he's used them. And he'd deserve it — but he can't die, not when his brother needs him so.
So, yes, he's stalling. Nightmare admits it.
But Killer eats quickly — eager for a mission? Maybe, but maybe not. Nightmare doesn't even understand why Killer stays, what made him choose Nightmare instead of freedom. It'd have been different if Killer hadn't known what to do with this freedom; but he has Colour, who'd readily, happily help. And yet…
There's a knock on the door. It's tempting to answer "Who's there?", let himself get distracted, fool around while he can; only Dream needs his big brother now more than ever, and Nightmare can't let him down. Can't let him die under the curse he somehow survived.
He opens the door. Killer stands there, a playful smile on his face, his broken soul a target once again. Nightmare feels him bottling up his feelings, making the guardian of negativity stronger.
"I'm ready to go, boss," Killer says, waiting for orders.
Why?
Once again, Nightmare doesn't ask. He thinks he couldn't bear the answer.
"Let's go, then. Open a portal near the castle, not inside." It's honestly a miracle Nightmare's voice doesn't tremble. He's used to pretending, that's what he's done to survive under the corruption's influence for centuries, but now it's suddenly hard. Now he doesn't have an excuse to be something he isn't. Now he's by himself.
Killer tears space and time with his knife, giving way like a loyal servant he is.
But why?
Why?
Why?..
Nightmare doesn't ask. He steps through the portal. Several sources of hostile negativity hit him — he was right. Someone is waiting for him. There'll be a fight. And he's weakened still. Would Killer be enough to protect them both and win?
"We're not alone," Nightmare warns him while he closes the portal. The negativity swirls around them, feeding Nightmare's soul. The castle is dark and menacing, and so very familiar.
Killer smiles savagely, "Let them come. I'll play, and I'll win."
Nightmare would like to have his confidence. The servants of his corrupted self are dangerous, and most have nothing to lose. Now that he can't protect himself, now that his crown has fallen with his curse…
They proceed quietly, cautiously. It's eerily silent, not a whistle of wind, not an echo of voice. Everything's dead, or seems to be; Nightmare knows better. It's not the realm of the dead, where Reaper would rule; it's the graveyard of hopes and dreams and all good and light, where Nightmare used to thrive with his gang of desperate rejects. Cross is not the only one to find a second chance and betray him, but there are few happy endings for those who end up by Nightmare's side.
They are ambushed in the main hall, predictably. Killer pushes Nightmare aside, yells to him not to get cornered, and rushes to fight. Nightmare watches raptly, ready to run, although he's not sure where to. Enemies could be anywhere.
But suddenly, Killer's not alone in his struggle against a crowd. With disbelief, Nightmare recognises Murder and Horror, who join the battle without a word, the same as they left him when the curse had fallen. It gets easier then — what Error used to call the Murder Time Trio is used to fighting together, smooth and clean team work. Horror chops heads with his axe without a sign of mercy — Nightmare still remembers how he refused to harm monsters and only dealt with humans at first, but then Nightmare made him hate monsters who, unlike his dearest brother, have enough food and magic in their worlds. Yet he still only uses magic on humans; his bones are more physical than others', so they deal less damage to those who don't have actual flesh. Murder fires blasters and summons sharpest bones, turning to dust several enemies at a time. He never uses weapons beside his own magic and especially hates knives — and Killer, who uses those. Nightmare knows all about his former subordinates, their fighting styles and their insecurities the same. He's hurt them so much, and here they are, saving him.
It ends.
Enemies flee. Those who stay alive, that is. That's not many.
Just like that.
Nightmare can't get his eyes off of them, mesmerised. They're so good.
"Killer," Murder says, not unkindly.
"Murder," Killer returns with the same neutral tone. Those two were never friendly, not with their backstories, not with their attitudes. Not with the way Nightmare fueled their animosity. It pours right into his soul, making him stronger.
"Nightmare," Horror notices, and then everyone stares at the one who used to be their king.
"Are you okay, boss?" Killer asks, taking a step closer. Nightmare nods, and then, without a pause, bows.
"Horror. Murder. Thank you for your help. You didn't have to."
Why did they stay? Did they also hope that Nightmare would return?
Murder huffs, shaking off the dust, and Horror responds with his deep, guttural voice, "We really didn't."
Nightmare can't help asking, "Why are you here?"
This time, Murder answers, "There's nowhere else for us to go." Horror nods, "It's not home, but it's somewhere to be." Murder adds, "Horror visits his brother as usual, but that's it."
And isn't that right? They have nothing but this miserable place. Nightmare made sure of it.
The thought makes him ache. They didn't deserve this hell. Nobody deserves something like that. Not even Nightmare himself.
"Why did you help, then?" somehow, Nightmare finds it in himself to continue.
He's still bowing deeply.
"Because it's something, and you were the one who gave it to us," Horror answers easily. His single blood-red eye-light shines in the dim light of the hall.
Nightmare chokes on words, helpless against such brutal honesty. Is it really that easy? Might that be why Killer stayed, as well? He doesn't know.
He isn't ready to know.
He doesn't want them here, as grateful as he is for their help. Killer wouldn't have done it alone. There were too many of them, waiting for their revenge.
"Why don't you both go to Farmtale?" Nightmare asks, weakly. It's cruel to himself to continue, but it's cruel to them to let it end here, and Nightmare knows what he'd choose. He doesn't deserve mercy. "I know Horror befriended their Sans. Anything's better than here."
"Not anything," Murder grumbles, crossing his hands on his chest. He must mean his AU, Nightmare thinks. Long gone, a courtesy of Error, but never forgotten.
"It's an idea though," Horror admits. "I'll ask."
Please do, Nightmare thinks, desperately. I want this wrecked place empty and forgotten.
"Why'd you still call him boss?" Murder asks Killer, and Nightmare really tries not to squirm. It's a question he'd also like to know the answer to, so he listens attentively.
"Because boss is boss," Killer shrugs. "What's so difficult about that?"
Murder huffs again, turns around and disappears without a word. Horror smiles uncomfortably widely and teleports, too. Nightmare blinks at the empty space they leave behind.
"Let's just go to the library," he sighs heavily. "I don't sense any more hostility in the entire AU, so that must be it."
They go.
Nightmare knows his library quite well, but even he can't contain centuries of knowledge in his head. So he searches, ordering Killer to stand guard, just in case. There aren't many books on Multiverse even in his vast collection, so it must be quick. He feels he won't be able to find anything here, but maybe, just maybe… merely a hint, it's all he needs…
Nightmare won't admit he doesn't know what he's doing. He has to know; he can't let his brother down once again. He already left him for centuries and almost killed him countless times. Enough betrayal. He'll do anything to redeem himself, even if he doesn't know how to be anything but evil — he was just a kid when corruption took over, after all. But he'll try. For his brother.
There are even less books on Multiverse than Nightmare expected, some of them more like diaries by outcodes he either killed or turned to his side. But it's exactly what he wanted — perhaps there is an outcode who can help, who knows more.
While skimming through the books, Nightmare lets himself relax a little — his broken body aches less here, where negativity's so thick the air is dark and heavy. It brings relief, though undeserved, but he really needs it to focus.
It feels like an eternity passed when he finally finds something. In hindsight, it's rather obvious — only he doesn't know how to get there.
Or perhaps he does.
"Killer!"
He teleports by Nightmare's left side so he sees him approach.
"Did you find something, boss?" he asks, curiously.
"I think I did," Nightmare responds, gently caressing the page he stopped on. Killer seems to stare right at his fingers, although without eye-lights there's no proof, it's merely a feeling. It does something strange to Nightmare's soul, Killer's attention.
"So what's the plan?" Killer sounds eager, tossing his knife from one hand to another.
Nightmare sighs, "We need Error. He's the only one I know who knows where to find the people we need."
Killer stops tossing his knife. "Do we still have any of his strings left? I don't know how to find him otherwise."
"Me neither," Nightmare admits. "And no, I don't think I have. They were hidden in the goop, but now…"
"Does Dream have them, then?"
"I don't know. We can't wait until the meeting anyway, I want answers before that."
"Would he even help us?" Killer says aloud exactly what Nightmare fears. He shuts the book and goes to put everything he took back in its place, just to delay the moment he has to answer. Only suffocating negativity of this world helps him keep breathing.
"I don't know," he finally admits. "But between you and me, I'm sure we can think of something. Error can be… unreasonable, but I'll find a way."
"We will," Killer corrects. "You're not alone, boss."
It's sickening how warm Nightmare feels all over. He doesn't deserve such loyalty.
But he has to move forward.
"Let me focus. I'll find the source of negativity in the Anti-Void, and if we're lucky, it will be Error."
Killer nods and turns to stand guard once again.
Why does he do it?
Nightmare can't make himself ask, as painful as it is not to know. He closes his left eye — his right doesn't work, it doesn't see and it doesn't close, forever wide open, — and enters the meditative state. It's easier than he expected, to be completely honest. There are so many thoughts buzzing in his head, yet they all disappear in a moment when he concentrates.
At first he only feels this world. There are several souls here, wallowing in negativity, not Horror and Murder alone. They're just not hostile, but they stay. Maybe Nightmare should try to talk to them, send them away — he really, truly wants this place empty and forgotten. Maybe later, when he's not as vulnerable. He'll need to come back here for his books, after all.
Then, he feels surrounding AUs, and then — just because he's in a place with highest level of negativity, he's not as strong without the corruption — he feels the Multiverse as a whole. It's suddenly overwhelming, although it shouldn't be surprising — he's gotten weaker indeed. Nightmare's knees would buckle and give if he weren't sitting. And then, finally, with significant effort, he feels the Anti-Void, certainly not the whole thing but some parts. That's enough. It has to be.
It's hard to pinpoint particular sources of negativity, but Nightmare knows Error and doesn't really know other residents of the Anti-Void, so it's comparatively easy to find exactly what he looks for. Error's always dissatisfied with something, even watching Undernovela and eating his favourite chocolate, surrounded by his precious dolls, or destroying yet another AU. The Multiverse won't cease existing no matter how hard Error tries, and it leaves him mad — in both senses of the word, angry and crazy. Nightmare knows Error, although he's not a normal subordinate, more like an ally with conflicting interests — he wants AUs gone while Nightmare wants them suffering but alive. There's no emotions in the dead. That's Reaper's territory.
So Nightmare finds Error and, hesitantly, opens a portal. Anti-Void is fickle, unstable, they might as well end up in a completely different part than where Error is. Only errors and other residents of the Anti-Void can navigate it well.
This time, Killer steps through first, ready to protect. Nightmare follows.
The portal closes, leaving them with endless, maddening whiteness.
They need to find Error quickly. It'll take time to negotiate, and Anti-Void is never patient with its visitors.
Killer turns around, grinning at Nightmare, then readies his knife and moves forward. Nightmare goes right after his… whatever Killer is now.
He'll deal with that later.
For now, he trusts Killer watch their surroundings and tilts his head back to see if there are any blue strings in the "ceiling".
He thinks he sees something. They go faster.

I don't know how I feel about the fight scene. I kind of skipped it because I've never written any (and because Nightmare doesn't participate in the fight), but is it okay? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on that and everything else, anything at all!
Hope you enjoyed, and take care 🌻

Going X-mas Shopping With One Piece Characters - Platonic
Did someone say they wanted some platonic things? well then! Going shopping with OP chars for their S/Os and you guys are best friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ace
You’ve been friends with him for ages and you knew how flustered and panicked he could get no matter how he tried to come across as cool.
He wanted to get something for his partner and dragged you, his best friend along with him.
“So these are my ideas,” He started and soon listed off loads of things, you lost count of all of his plans and things he’d found for you.
It was sweet, honestly.
It was lovely seeing him so in love and just wanting to spoil his partner for Xmas.
But you did need to be the voice of reason.
He couldn’t buy you everything after all.
You drag him out for boba and try and recommend the things you personally think his partner would like the most.
Manage to calm him down, even help him pick some nice wrapping paper while your at it.
A fun yet, hectic day with Ace.
Tumblr media
Marco
He seems to have it all planned out.
You met him for lunch, and he pays, as a thank you for coming so short notice to help him out.
He’s been so busy with work and he believes in finding gifts in person instead of online.
You are happy to help Marco, you’d do pretty much anything for your best friend.
You walk around the shops and he seems to know what he's looking for, he just enjoys having company and a second opinion.
Just because Marco mostly knows what he’s doing doesn't mean he doesn't get distracted by the odd shiny thing and his plans get a little derailed.
And that's where you step in, keep him on track or you’ll be in the store for far too long.
Marco has a habit of letting things get away with him after all.
You think Marco doesn’t need help and as much as he knows what his partner likes and wants it’s nice to have company and someone to keep him on track.
Sitting with a hot chocolate after hours of shopping together is also a plus.
UNDERCUT THATCH - LAW - KILLER
Tumblr media
Thatch
Oh, he wants to buy his partner everything and anything and has a habit of buying complete crap with the best intentions.
He will 100% pick up everything he finds neat and buys it for his spouse.
That’s why he invites you, the lure of free dinner and his undying gratitude get you and you meet up with the energetic chef.
You had no idea Thatch could shop, you can feel your feet screaming at you as you follow him into yet another store.
It’s your job to tell your best friend that his partner does not need the novelty mug that has a rude word on the bottom.
Or the apron that is a naked man.
After the world's most hectic shopping trip you manage to make Thatch think about his choices more and he seems pleased with what he bought for his spouse.
That’s when he takes you to dinner and you can rest your screaming feet.
Tumblr media
Law
He seems like the last person who would need help buying things for his partner but actually, the man is an anxious mess and is always this close to having an internal emotional breakdown whenever he’s in a busy shop [Me to baby]
So he asks you, feeling awkward and muttering under his breath.
You happily agree and arrange to meet.
Law is a nightmare going shopping with because he will pick up two almost identical things and stare at them debating which is better.
He doesn’t like to buy his partner lots of things, he likes to find one perfect and meaningful gift so it will take him an entire day.
So, bestie, get used to this.
He’ll give you lists of pros and cons for each different item and you will just need to add your input, which he listens to, considers, and goes back to staring between the two.
Eventually and thanks to you Law figures out what he wants to buy.
And then he takes you for coffee and you can’t wait to get out of the mall.
Tumblr media
Killer
You get a message at 3 am from him asking you for help shopping tomorrow.
Killer never asks for help but he’s been struggling to get his ass in gear to go and buy something for his partner for ages.
And he’s running out of time.
You agree but also wish he wasn’t at your door at 9 am sharp.
You look a mess and he greets you, taking you to breakfast at the very least which helps you get ready for the day.
Shopping with Killer was great, everyone moved the fuck out of his way and it meant you could be cheeky and get some of your own shopping done too.
You really have to pry every cookbook from his hands as he gets distracted.
He knows what he wants, at least he’s in the right direction.
Killer just needs an extra opinion that isn’t Kid saying everything is ‘shit’ and cussing out wayward toddlers.
Once he knows what he wants he’s in and out in a flash though.
Thankfully.
And then off for a beer.

Note
After rereading ATOS again for the billionth + time, the thought struck me that Killer must, to some extent, feel like just a placeholder. He's there because someone else can't be right now and soon as that person/thing is, he has to step back and wait to be a placeholder again and he's convinced himself he's content with that. And wow, that hits some deep emotional rejection fears.
You get it, anon.
Killer acting as a replacement or a fill-in goes back far longer than just the start of the current ATOS fic timeline. It’s been his role since Cross wanted someone he couldn’t have, and though Killer was also feeling bereft of a certain relationship, he knew full well that he was just acting as a substitute when he started hooking up with Cross. It’s been his role even since Nightmare brought him onboard to work for him because at the time, Nightmare needed additional help to achieve his goals while ignoring the suspiciously empty space at his side that should have been filled by his twin—in his eyes, that is. Killer was a distraction, a means to an end even though their relationship wasn’t anything more than professional at that point (or as professional as one can call a flirtatious, 25-year-old skeleton who’s hellbent on breaking his boss’ standoffish demeanor).
And what’s worse for Killer is that he knows what it used to be like to be wanted for who he is, not for what function he could fill as a replacement. He used to have an extremely normal and arguably happy life with his family and friends before that was all taken away. People used to value him for his company, for being himself, which came primary to his expertise as an engineer. He was talented at and praised for his work, but there was always the understanding that Killer—Sans—was overall just a good friend to be around. It’s hard to suddenly lose that value as a person and pretend that nothing’s wrong.
Fortunately for Killer now, he has years of shutting out his emotions. He will be the perfect subordinate who cuts off any emotional attachment with the bite of his knife in battle. No one will ever need be wiser as long as he can continue to stifle his own hurt and hide it behind an easy grin.
Shame that he didn’t take into account what a positive empath’s effect on his soul could have, though

hello there :D
I’ve never done an ask before so here it goes.
to my favorite creator on tumblr!
I have always had this theory that Dust and Horror are very fidgety and often need to do something with their hands, I have always thought that sometimes Horror, Dust and Error (I know Error isn’t in this story but he is in mine) would just sit by the fire and do their own fidgety crafts, Dust does origami since it is delicate and takes time distracting him from his thoughts, Horror likes to cross stitch, and Error knits. I was just wondering if they do anything like that, maybe a fidgety craft like that could help Dust with his nerves and baby depression (it helps me :D).
Lastly, I saw someone mention the boys coming out to Nightmare, what are your head cannons on their sexualities?
I love your work and can’t wait to read more, take your time and have fun. And here, a sketch, Gooptales and Sky children of the light
Tumblr media
Hello!
It's okay, I honestly get nervous sending in asks myself. Welcome to my ask box, and feel free to send in anything anytime. I try to answer most of them I recieve.
And what an honor to have such a title! Thank you!
I love your idea! It is nice for the boys to have hobbies to occupy their minds and hands other than mischief! Really, what you shared is a pleasant scene I could see playing out.
For HNBD, though, it would be mostly Killer with his whittling once he takes up that hobby. Dust just likes reading, and is good at sitting still and letting his mind drift off into space adventures in his book. Maybe one day, he will try writing one. But right now, he just would rather read. Horror, with his hunting that he will start, likes leather working as not being wasteful extends to more than food to him. To him, using 100% of an animal he kills is how he honors and respects the creatures that sustain him. Cross likes training, gaming, and occasionally sketching and journaling. As for the Growing Up
GoopTales offshoot, well, the boys do join clubs which will kind of answer that. Cross joins track and field as he stays fairly active. Horror doesn't join on at the school, Nightmare helps him find a hunters club, and he also decides to be a boy scout. He's an outdoors kind of guy. Killer ends up joining the drama club and taking such classes. He finds a love for Shakespeare, and it makes Nightmare so happy to hear him in his room practicing his lines. Plays are perfect for him, but he can't read them while sitting. Reading has been difficult for him since his soul was mutated, but since lines are split up, and it is meant to be read aloud, with voices, he can focus on it. As for Dust, he didn't want to join any at first, but Killer kept dragging him along. Eventually, he slips away one day and finds the chess club... he also finds out about the creative writing club and joins both since they meet on different days.
I honestly don't feel like discussing that, sorry. Just know, my main ship is Soriel, and if I see a Sans, I want to give them a Toriel, and if I see a Toriel, they should have a Sans. That's the way my brain is programmed. I do actually have a Toriel picked out for Dream. But trying to not spill all my Soriel headcanons all over the UTMV too quickly. XD (After all, there is FuzzyNight, then my fics I am slowly writing when in romance moods: The HouseKeeper for Killer and Soul Fire Blues for Dust. I think that's enough for now)
What an adorable drawing! Thank you so much for sharing this! I will have to add it to my collection of art! I love seeing them following Nightmare like little ducklings. It warms my heart. And love the cape you gave Nightmare!

I see you ER anon and it makes me curious tho-
How would the boys handle actual serious medical problems? Like me having ended up in the ICU for a month because of complications of a serious chronic health condition
Oh no! I hope you're doing and feeling better Anon! That's awful.
Killer is a little awkward about it. He's not used to having to be in medical settings when he himself isn't hurt, but... He's worried about you. He doesn't really know what to do, either, so he is visibly frustrated. It bothers him a lot, and while he's visiting you, he will frequently be sitting on his hands or bouncing a foot. Dust is similarly a little antsy and doesn't know what to do, but he shows it less. He'll sit and chill in your room with you and watch tv or play games. If you wanna play, too, he'll hook it up to the tv and give you a second controller. He tries his best to help you ignore the real reason you're there. Axe also frets hard. He's got a decent working knowledge of things that land humans in the hospital for extended periods, and none of them are good. Fortunately, you won't have to put up with hospital food-- he'll figure out if you're on a diet and cook accordingly-- monster food is likely to help you more than dubious human food. Besides, he can get you anything you want, and the menu for the hospital is... limited in that regard. He also knows how you like your food. Cross handles this poorly. He doesn't like not being able to do something about someone he cares about being incapacitated. He has nothing to strike back at. He has no one to blame. He'll spiral if he doesn't do something to distract himself, or if you don't get him to knock it off. Post him as the guard, though, and he'll fall into his position and relax about it. He keeps a very careful eye on whatever draws get done or medicine gets administered, and gets kind of grouchy if it hurts you. Baggs will do one of two things-- subtly ensure that you're being cared for correctly, or spirit you away to his own infirmary where he can make sure your recovery goes the way it should. He has very little faith in human doctors, since they're so out of tune with souls and magic. Something they do could hurt you on a magical level and he will be having none of that, thank you. He knows what's best, after all. He is also the gentlest touch with a needle you will ever experience, bar none. Nightmare doesn't know very much about human biology, so he defers to experts. Still.... he'll lurk around in the corner so that no one really questions his presence. He's also good with getting you little creature comforts, or decadent little... treats and comforts to make your room feel less sterile and impersonal. A lovely blanket, some candies in an elegant dish, if you're allowed them... (sugar-free, if they need to be!) all sorts of things like that.

Nightmare.
"You are everything to me."
I wanted to make this really soft haha. I dunno if this is really how their nights sometimes go but hey, if you want Nightmare to be a soft boy to his underlings? You can picture it ^^
Nightmare acted as if he didn’t care much for the things in his life.
He had his underlings, and they were pawns for him to use and move. If he lost one or two, then so be it. It would all come together and work out in the end or, at least, that’s what he thought at first.
Then he started to... ugh... care about these weirdos that worked for him. He would not say that he respected them. Oh no, far from it. they were more of... children to him.
It made sense but he also knew all of what they’ve been through. That’s what made them so easy to trick to join his group. It was easy! Yet, even so, he started to allow himself to get close to them. The idea of that, frightened Nightmare.
Every time he got close to something or someone before, it was ripped away from him. Sometimes of his own fault but, honestly, most of the time it wasn’t his fault! It was the people that hated him that wanted to hurt him. He hated them.
He hated all of them.
At least now, he was the ruler of his own world. His own AU that he took many years ago. He had his own castle, walls that he built up to block out the outside world. He only allowed a few to get close enough to see him.
Let alone touch him.
He was sitting in the chair, his head rested against the palm of his hand lost in thought when he heard sounds. “Dusty, knock it off!” Killer’s voice “Make me, mom!” Dusters... then sounds of distress. That was Axe.
“yOu i-i-iDioTs sToP It!” ah there’s Error.
What are those idiots doing...?
He sighs and pushes himself to get up and walks over to where he knew that they were, crossing his arms over his chest with his tentacles shifting around behind him.
“Aren’t you all supposed to be asleep?”
They had a mission to go on the next day, and he told them to get sleep. Not Error, given that they would go into their anti-void whenever they wanted to rest. They said that they disliked sleeping anywhere but in there.
Nightmare knew why but he would never use it... unless he was forced to but as of now, he didn’t need to. Not anymore.
Dusty was pinning Killer’s wrists down to the ground but stops when he heard Nightmare’s voice. He looks up, and Killer uses that distraction to flip them around so he would be on top of Dusty punching his cheek. “I told you to stop it, you asshole”
Nightmare’s tentacles quickly shoot out, wrapping around the two of them. He figured he would need to take Killer’s emotions again... ugh it’s been needing to happen more often.
Dusty kicks his legs trying to kick Killer, so Nightmare rolls his eyes shaking him lightly “Stop it” he hissed through his annoyance. “What is wrong with you two?”
Killer and Dusty both huff, glaring at each other. Error starts to explain, “dUsTy aNd kIlLeR S-StArTeD To aRgUe bEcAuSe iT'S KiLlEr's tUrN FoR DiShEs bUt hE SaYs tHaT He dId iT FoR DuStY O-O-OnE TiMe aNd tHaT DuStY ShOuLd dO It fOr hIm tHiS TiMe.”
“Because he should! I do so much around this place”
“Yeah, a lot of bitching!”
Axe huffs at that, rolling his eyeshine muttering “Clever” it wasn’t.
“Ugh... Axe, would you mind doing it, please?” Axe nods, and turns to go and do the dishes, while Nightmare walks with the two of them “You’re both going to bed, and I’m not going to take no for an answer. I will have you both with me in my room so I can keep an eye on you both” Both skeletons grumble with their annoyance.
Nightmare gets them settled into his bed, which he wasn’t ever one to use. Normally he did it just to sit and lay in for when he wanted to rest. He didn’t need to sleep and when he did, he would get odd... dreams.
“Now, Axe will be here soon, and I want you both to not fight anymore. This is my room, and if I am forced, I will not think twice before knocking you both out. Am I clear?”
Killer nods, leaning back crossing his arms over his chest his head turned down. Dusty huffs, turning to lay on his side so his back was to them muttering “I know Pappy, it is shit”
Axe came in a little while later, after Dusty already fell asleep and Nightmare and Killer were making small talk. They were just talking about the plan for the next day. Axe climbs over, making sure to be as soft as he could. He had a bit of a hard time. Dusty turned, nuzzling into the much colder skeleton, hearing Axe start to purr.
Nightmare smiles the smallest amount, sensing their positive feelings... idiots. He stands up, pulling the blanket over them “Now. Get sleep” he reaches up, putting his thumb against Killer’s forehead sucking out the emotions which caused him to shut his eyesockets, slowly laying back on the bed his chest slowly lowering with his breath.
With that, Nightmare walked over to the door, looking back at them and mumbles. "You are everything to me." and he sighs, walking out shutting the door behind him staring forward as he walked down the hallway. What even happened to him?
How did he become... a dad, pretty much?

imperial!tech has melted my brain
Can’t stop thinking about the imperial tech idea. It is implausible yet alluring. So here we gooooo. would love some feed back since I am not sure if that feel is right.
CN insults, violence, murder, discriminatory behaviour, treats, very toxic behaviour, soldier life in a fascist state, tiny bit of fluff or Manipulation depends on your perspective, blood, pain, talk of injury
Imperial!tech X they*them Y/N reader, afab but does not really matter unless I write a part 2
“Welcome on Kamino!”, the officer declared striding into the hall, “I hope you are motivated and up to the task to serve the galactic empire.”
A few laughs and murmured words from the crowd arose. The officer in front of the newly recruited soldiers waited patiently for them to quiet down.
“You-“, he pointed at them,” have been selected from the best bounty hunters, fighters and planetary defence forces in the galaxy. This-“ another pointer into the air ”- is your moment.”
The anticipation in the room was tangible.
“We are ready, sir”, someone said. Other “yeahs” and “bring it on” voiced agreement.
“We will see.”, the officer smiled, “You are here as new recruits for the imperial army elite squad. A most unusual and experimental force. And may I point out, you are not the first to attempt and fail to join this most extraordinary unit.”
Again, the silence was unpleasantly deafening. Y/N looked around but this time no one dared to speak up. Hard, human, mostly men* had come with Y/N to Kamino, the most secretive of worlds where all the now imperial clone troopers came from. Y/N knew some from their time as a bounty hunter. But looking at these tense men* now, these identical uniforms, these faces Y/N didn’t recognize any of them.
“Allow me to introduce you to your commander. Clone Commander Tech will assess your performance and decide on your -” a last pointed gesture ”-fate within the imperial forces.”
With this the door opened and a single trooper walked in. Calmly and collected, giving not a glance to the newly recruited.
“Are these new soldiers, sir?”, the trooper asked quietly.
“I am afraid so.”
The trooper puffed, turned around and took his time looking at the recruits.
“What a disappointment.”, he finally stated while fixing his googles, “Listen up! I am your commander. You on the other hand are barley sentient, oxygen consuming, shit generating bags of meat.”
He looked down, his voice now lower. It was an odd moment. The hall was full of assertive and hardened fighters. Yet this skinny, pale, four eyed clone berated them.
“You think you are smart and impressive. But trust me – you are not. All you can hope to accomplish is following my precise order. Do you think you can do that?”
Silence.
Someone started to laugh and clap.
“Woooooowww”, the recruit stated, “What a show. Is this a joke?”
Others started to snicker.
The commander turned his head like an owl and fixed his eyes on the rebellious troublemaker.
“It really was quite impressive. But listen here googles – I am not following orders from a clone. You are nothing but brainless cannon fodder. So where is the real commander, officer?”
More snickering in the hall. Y/N got cold. Something bad was about to happen. They knew it.
“Don’t-“, they tried to voice something but a glance from the clone commander silenced Y/N.
Helplessly they watched as commander Tech took off his glasses.
In a fraction of a moment the commander lunged at the troublemaker and hit the frame of his glasses on his head. It took 3 few precise and fast strikes with the doomium frame before the skull shattered.
No one spoke as the commander cleaned his glasses with the uniform of the dead troublemaker before putting them on again.
“You “, he pointed at Y/N and their back went cold. “You anticipated my attack. Well done. I consider you bearable for the elite squad. Congratulations.”
XXXXXXX
The elite squad had a variety of tasks. Whenever necessary they got deployed to guard, assassinate, or downright slaughter. Y/N felt nothing. Life in the outer rim was hard enough without a war. Killing had been a necessity for survival for too long and Kamino had numbed what was left in Y/N to care.
Y/N was given a number within the unit. ES-01. There had been another ES-01 before Y/N but nobody liked to talk about that. And since the number was impractical, their squad members had shortened it into the moniker “ONCE”.
ONCE was fine with the squad. There was little talk between them. At night ONCE heard the others cry or whisper to each other about the commander and the horrors the had to endure. But ONCE did not want to talk and pretended to sleep.
Sleep was a rarity for the elite squad due to their deployments.
And Tech – their commander – never slept. ONCE saw him twice in the bunk room to get something or give out orders. But never had they witnessed their commander asleep. He was always off somewhere, either working on the squat space craft deep into the night or in the little lab were he meticulously planned out missions. He laboured like a mad man but nobody objected.
It was early. ONCE had woken up from a nightmare. The other members of the squad were still asleep. The bunk of the commander empty of course. ONCE got up. There was no point in staying here.
The long corridors were nearly empty. A few guards and droids patrolled or performed cleaning duties. But nobody paid attention to ONCE wandering around with a cup of caf.
Commander Tech was in the hangar, working on the ship.
“Commander, you are up already.”, ONCE stated.
“Still. I wasn’t finished.”, Tech replied. His voice was raspy as if he had talked to himself for hours, “What do you want?”
“Nothing. Just wanted to check on the insomniac commander.”
“Oh.”, it sounded like a treat, “There is no need for you to assess my sleeping pattern, soldier.”
He looked up from the bottom of the ship at ONCE and got up.
“But thank you for bringing me caf.”
“I didn-“
“I said thank you, soldier.”
Before any protest Tech took ONCE hand, twisted it with surgical accuracy for them to let go of the cup of caf and took it.
That kriffin clone.
ONCE inhaled.
“Hey, with all due respect commander, if you want a caf I can get you some. No need to take some by force from me.”
Tech just calmly sipped from the cup.
“How nice of you. How considered, dear ONCE.”, he said in a sweet voice, “But no, I do not require any more caf from you. Thank you very much. Tell me, is using the caf machine a task the little head of yours can process? Sooo many buttons… Sooo complicated… You must be so proud.”
ONCE did not flinch. Living in the outer Rim, spending time among killers and criminals had teachable effects. It did not pay off to go against bigger fish, but limits had to be set.
Without a second thought ONCE licked their finger and dipped it into the caf of their commander.
Tech – the clone commander who even talked over grand moff talkin once - was speechless.
For a moment ONCE thought he might hit them, already bracing for the impact of an armoured fist. Instead, the commander put down the cup.
“I should whip you for that.”
ONCE stayed silent and starred forward, at the side of the ship.
Tech moved closer. He was taller than them and his dark armour enhanced his shoulders. A dark bird of prey with big eyes starring down on measly prey.
“I will whip you for that.”
His fingers scratched over ONCEs pauldron upwards until he reached their neck, pocking painfully into the skin.
“But not now.”
Tech moved away.
XXXXXXXXXXX
Bracca had been a disaster. The elite squad was tasked to track and eliminate some deserters. But before they could implement commander Tech’s plan, contradictory orders came in from Kamino. Good soldiers follow orders. But what does that help with in the field when one order is to kill and the other to capture.
Now the commander was injured.
Alone in the med bay.
ONCE starred at the wall.
Tech was an unpleasant commander. The respect he commanded was gained by violence and constant critique of those he considered lesser.
But he deserved not to be alone when in pain, right? And back then in the hanger he had not hit ONCE. ONCE was aware that what they considered adequate or even caring behaviour was twisted by a life spent in danger, the imperial brain washing and the maddening time with the elite squad. But they didn’t care. Tech had all the chances to punish ONCE for their discretions. Yet he didn’t. That was nearly good behaviour from a man who had killed a recruit for disrespecting him. Wasn’t it?
ONCE head spinned. The other squad members whispered in their bunks about the mission. About their commander and how he got burned by an ion engine. Apparently, the deserters were the commanders former squad members. And they had left him. Twice.
Once he had a squad.
Once he was unharmed.
Once he was many things of which they did not know about.
ONCE got up. Checking on a wounded commander should not be such a loaded and complicated question.
The med bay was as sterile and uncaring as the rest of the kaminoan architecture.
The commander was laying on a cot. The bacta had worked well on the burns on the side of his head. But he still locked weak and hurt. Without his glasses, Tech starred at the ceiling, not even a holopad to distract himself.
“hello commander, I got you some caf.”

Your romance with Wally was anything but slow, but that came with the territory of loving a speedster let alone the fastest person alive. You knew from the moment you met that he was going to be a part of the rest of your life, and you hoped that it would be in a good way. It was no secret that Wally West was famous with the ladies, he was as smooth as he was fast and his words had you stumbling for a response.
What was once just simple flirting, turned into tense training sessions filled to the brim with sexual tension. It got to the point that the rest of the Titans could see your obvious attraction to each other but Dick knew your past.
In fact, he was the only one who knew it.
You had a dark past, one that you weren’t proud of and was actively trying to leave it behind. Deadshot had made you a lethal weapon someone who could shoot a target from hundreds of yards away and hit your mark perfectly. That kind of skill got you noticed, and not in a good way. It was what led the Titans to you in the first place.
Deadshot had brought you along to make you see that the Titans were really just what he said, a bunch of kids who had no idea what they were doing. But to you, they were anything but. He had ordered you to take them out one by one, and that’s what you planned on doing before you were interrupted.
Your first bullet didn’t hit its intended mark, instead, it landed in the shoulder of The Flash because you were knocked over by a blur of blue and black. Nightwing had stopped you from killing his best friend that day, and The Flash never even knew about it.
The mask you wore hid your face from him, so he couldn’t see what you looked like but with one well-placed hit, he caught a glimpse of just how young you were. It stopped him in his tracks, Deadshot had brought a girl no younger than he was to murder them for him.
Nightwing had tried to make you see sense, convince you that Deadshot only had his intentions in mind and cared nothing about you. With how young and naïve you were, you refused to believe him until you were captured and he left you there to take the blame.
For someone you thought you trusted, it hurt when he disappeared from sight as you yelled for him to get you out.
Nightwing gave you an option, you could join them on the team or go to jail. Considering the better of the two options, you joined the team. Dick, as you had come to know him, gave you a new background that you needed to fool the rest of your team into thinking that you were who you said you were.
Now here you were months later passionately in love with the very same speedster that you had almost killed.
Looking over at him while he slept, you could count the freckles that decorated Wally’s face. His brilliant green eyes were hidden by his closed lids with his bright red hair spread out across your pillows. Your naked form was pressed into his side as he held you close to him in his sleep. You had never felt like this about anyone before and it scared you that you cared so much about him.
Deadshot was still out there, and he knew who you were. If you were to run into him again, there was no guarantee that he would not try to ruin the new life you had tried to build for yourself.
Wally rolled and pulled you on top of him with a groan, a soft smile on his lips. Slowly, you leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to the not wanting to wake him. But it seemed that he already was.
Feeling your lips on his, Wally’s grip on your waist tightened as he cupped your face and fully kissed you. For someone who was dead asleep only moments ago, he seemed to be very awake with the way he was kissing you.
Your free hand tangled itself into his hair, tugging it every so often causing him to let out soft groans that you loved so much.
“Hey babe, what’s got you up at this hour?” he asked, his voice filled with sleep.
You giggled and looked down at him, your hair framing your face. “I could say the same about you handsome.” You teased, brushing his bangs back.
“I was dreaming about the most beautiful girl I know, only to realize that while I dreamt of her, she was pressed against me in reality. I couldn’t pass that up.” He grinned, holding your waist. “Now, what’s keeping you up beautiful?”
You blushed at his pet name for you. “Just thinking about when Dick-“ you didn’t even get the rest of the sentence out before Wally’s face changed to a dangerous smirk.
“You mean to tell me that you are in bed with me naked, and you are thinking about my best friend?” he asked sliding his hands up your sides.
You scoffed and hit his shoulder with a laugh. “Wallace West! If you let me finish you would know that it was about when Dick brought me here to meet all of you.” You giggled, watching Wally look you over as his hand ran over your bare body.
“I remember that day too, the moment you showed up I knew that I had to have you no matter what.” He started. “It’s weird though, Dick told me that I shouldn’t get involved with you but I couldn’t be gladder that I ignored him.”
Hearing his words, your mood dropped but you refused to let your smile change. Dick didn’t approve of your relationship? That was news to you, but if you were honest with yourself you weren’t surprised. Dick was the only one who knew of your true past, he just wanted to keep his best friend safe. But he had to have known that there was nothing you would ever do to hurt Wally.
Wally noticed that you were quiet for a long minute, and his eyes filled with concern. “Y/N, babe, you alright?” he asked as he forced himself to sit up with you still straddling his lap. His large hands held your hips as he looked you over to make sure that you were alright. “Are you bothered that Dick said that?”
Quickly you shook your head and placed a kiss on his forehead before leaning yours on his shoulder. “it’s not that, I’m just really glad that I met you, Wally.”
He wrapped his arms around you and held you close to comfort you. Laying back down, the two of you drifted off to sleep while you thought of confronting Dick about what he had said to Wally about staying away from you.
The confrontation with Dick didn’t happen for another few days. He was stuck in Blüdhaven working on a case and the day he got back was when there was a threat on Jump City. Within no time, you and the rest of the Titans were suited up and ready to go. Wally gave you one final kiss before he sped out the door to head off your adversary and you ran across the roofs with Dick and Roy. Donna flew above you with Garth taking the waves from the harbor with him.
Dick could tell that there was something off with you but it was placed on the back burner when he was bolts of lightning streak across the city as Wally fended off the city as he waited for the rest of his team.
“Hey Flash, any sign on who it is?” Nightwing asked.
“It’s our favorite sharpshooter here Rob, Deadshot is back in town and he seems pissed.” Flash’s voice sounded through the com system.
The look you and Nightwing shared didn’t ease your nerves at all. Deadshot was back in town, and he was most likely looking for you.
“What’s the plan Nightwing?” Donna asked as she flew above.
“Flash, Garth and Donna, you three distract him so Arsenal, Barrage, and I try and get in close to take him out. If we play this right, we can finally put him away after months of tracking him down.”
There was a murmur of agreement as Donna and Garth shot ahead to give Flash the assistance he needed It didn’t take long for you and the other two to arrive, but the second Deadshot saw you, you swore he smiled.
Pulling out a rifle of your own, you set up in a hidden location so you could try and get a good view and possibly a few good shots in at him. The man who made you a killer was not going to get away with it this time.
The battle raged on for what seemed like hours, but finally, with a combined effort of you, Nightwing and Flash Deadshot was finally down for the count. But that didn’t stop him from talking.
“Barrage you said your name was? You remind me an awful lot about my last partner Deadeye, the last time I saw her was here in this city. Any idea where I could find her?” he asked.
Before the others could ask, you punched him hard enough that his nose broke and a couple of his teeth chipped. Giving the others the signal that you were heading back early, you disappeared down the street leaving a very confused Wally and a frowning Dick.
The second you got back to the tower, you showered and grabbed a snack from the kitchen. Moments after you grabbed a bowl of food, you felt a rush of air beside you. Within seconds, Wally placed a kiss on your lips, took a bite of your food, and promised to “be back in a flash” before zooming off to the shower and dressed.
One by one the others filtered in with Dick being the last one. His gaze went to you immediately and you followed him to the training room. Dick shut the door and stood with his arms crossed as he watched you walk towards him.
“I know you have questions, but I have a few of my own bird brain. First of all, who the fuck gave you permission to tell Wally to stay away from me when I first got here? Isn’t that a choice to be made by us, not you? I would never hurt him like that, you of all people should know this!” you snapped at him, poking him in the chest.
“Yeah, I of all people also know where you really came from. What’s he going to think when he and the others find out that you were Deadeye and almost killed us only a few months ago? I’m thinking of more than just you; I’m thinking about the entire team.” he snapped.
“I left Deadeye behind before I ever fell for him! If I was going to hurt him, I would have done it already. But what about you? How are you going to tell your best friend that you lied to him about his girlfriend? I am not the only one at fault here and if I go down, I am dragging you with me, Richard Grayson.”
You were going to say more but you caught the expression on Dick’s face. He was staring at something behind you, and you had a bad feeling about what it was. Turning on your heel, you saw Wally standing there with a look of shock on his face with the apple he was eating long forgotten about.
“Y/N, Dick, what the hell is going on?” he asked slowly.
“Walls-“ Dick started towards him only for Wally to back away and shake his head.
“Don’t, I want the truth.” He said sternly. “The whole truth.”
You dropped your head and took a deep breath. “I haven’t been exactly honest with you about who I am. I wasn’t always Barrage; I was Deadeye Deadshot’s apprentice.” You said slowly.
Wally’s eyes shifted between you and Dick. “You knew, you both knew and kept it from me?” he asked.
The look on both yours and Dick’s faces said it all. The two people he loved most in the world lied to his face about who you were and it hurt him more than that bullet wound you had apparently given him.
Dick moved to step towards his friend once again only for Wally to shoot him a glare. “I want to hear what she has to say, not you.” He snapped, only for Dick to drop his head and leave the room for the two of you to try and talk things out.
The silence that fell over you was deafening and it seemed that the tension was choking you. You loved Wally, you loved him more than anything but the way he was looking at you broke your heart. He trusted you with everything, including his secret identity only to find out that you had tried to kill them only months before was a shock.
He was the first to break the silence, “How long have you been lying to me?” he asked. The lack of response only told him that it had been from the beginning.
“I wanted to tell you Red, I really did. But I knew that if I was honest about who I was, none of you would have trusted me. Floyd left me on that rooftop knowing what could have happened to me, and Dick decided that I deserved a second chance. So, with his help, I came up with a new past and joined the team.” You explained.
Wally stood there quietly and listened. “So, you thought that lying to a whole team who trusted you was a good idea?” he asked.
“Wally, would you have trusted me if I told the truth? Would we be what we are if I was honest?”
“Dick warned me about this.” He said softly, looking at the floor.
“About what?”
Wally’s green eyes finally met your own after almost ten minutes of avoiding your gaze and you could see the heartbreak hidden behind the traces of his anger and betrayal. “You.”
His words cut you deeply, Wally’s opinion of you was the only one you actually cared about and you could see it changing in front of your eyes.
“Red please,” you begged stepping closer to him. “We can work this out, I don’t want to lose you.”
Wally shook his head, pulling his hands away before you could take them in your own the term for endearment you had for him leaving a bad taste in his mouth. “You and I both know that you lost me the second you decided to lie to me and the rest of the team.” He turned around and quickly walked out of the training room avoiding his best friend that stood right outside the door.
The gravity of the situation was crushing you, what else were you supposed to do? Wally had just broken up with you and was likely going to tell the team that you and Dick had been lying to them. So, you did the only thing left for you to do.
Before Dick could ask questions or express the guilt he felt, you darted out of the training room and ran to yours and packed. Within half an hour your stuff was packed into two duffel bags and you dashed for the elevator.
The last thing you saw before the doors closed was the look on Wally’s face before you left Titans Tower, never wanting to come back.

i’ve been kinda quiet while finishing a project over on ao3, but now i’m back with some riconti to share <3
ship: felix x ace (only implied; can be read as platonic if you wish!)
word count: 1640
Someone to Lean On
"—and I thought for sure she wouldn't pick me up! I ran straight into her after being unhooked, but she didn’t even hesitate calling my bluff. Well played, Spirit!"
Felix kept half-listening as Ace rambled on about their latest trial. They were walking back to the campfire together through the fog, having both been sacrificed by the ruthless katana-wielding killer.
It wasn't uncommon for Ace to wait around for him in the plane of nothingness if he didn't survive the trial. Felix had lost count of how many times he'd regained consciousness only to see the familiar, smiling figure calling over to him through the fog.
He wondered if Ace knew how much he appreciated the gesture. The gambler’s friendly banter was always a welcome distraction from the harrowing experience of having every fiber of his being torn to shreds and consequently be reassembled.
But this time was different. Felix could barely make out Ace's words, his own thoughts sounding deafening inside his head despite the silence of the fog. His body didn't feel like his own; it was like the Entity's claws were still twisting and turning around his insides.
Felix’s feet dragged behind him and when they eventually came to a stop, Ace stopped right with him and patiently waited for their journey to continue. Only once Felix made no move to do so did the Argentine’s brilliant smile falter from uncertainty.
"Felix?" Ace asked.
"I can't do it," Felix said.
According to people back at the campfire, it had been over a year since Felix was taken into this horrible realm. It felt even longer than that; with nothing in this world but means to make them suffer, Felix was starting to forget the things he used to enjoy.
"Sure you can, champ!" Ace grinned.
Felix knew Ace was trying to be encouraging. He knew he should go back to his play-act, should plaster on a fake smile and brush off his struggles as nothing more than a bad trial, like he’d done countless times before.
But he couldn’t.
"No," Felix said, a surprising determination in his voice. "You don't understand."
“What do you mean?” Ace asked.
Felix wasn’t sure how to describe it. The more he thought about this world and the absolute wrongness of it, the harder it was to pinpoint its exact cause.
He felt lightheaded and almost delirious. It was like he was in a dream; a terrible nightmare that he couldn't wake up from. Nothing in this place made sense, yet all this time he had accepted it as truth. What if it was all a figment of his imagination?
"Is any of this real?" Felix asked.
Ace’s smile made way for a confused frown, and his expression was the only thing in their surroundings that looked lifelike. The unnatural fog surrounding them felt neither damp nor cold, the unending darkness somehow allowed them to see perfectly, and even though there was nothing to guide them they still knew exactly which way to go.
Felix felt his breathing pick up as he only now seemed to realize the vast emptiness of nothing they were standing in. He’d been here countless times before but never fully aware of it, and his heart was racing as he frantically looked around, feeling the terror rising in his chest—
Until a warm hand was placed on his shoulder.
"Hey, deep breaths," Ace said, turning Felix to face him.
The touch helped to ground him and the panic started to fade as Felix looked into familiar brown eyes. Ace felt real, but how could he be sure?
"It doesn't make any sense," Felix said. "The Entity doesn’t exist. It simply can’t."
Ace said nothing. Whether he was giving Felix space to speak or thought he’d finally lost his mind, Felix didn’t know.
"What if this is just a nightmare? What if I'm going crazy—having some sort of episode from work stress, and I'm really hospitalized in an institution?" Felix said, his frantic eyes finding Ace's. "What if I'm in a coma, or—or I died, and this is all my brain shutting down? What if this isn't real?"
Felix realized he was shaking. Ace looked at him silently; like he was pondering what to say. Felix didn’t think he’d ever seen him look so serious.
Abruptly, the embarrassment hit. Felix broke eye contact and stepped back. Even if he was losing it, he didn't need to drag Ace into this—
"So what?" Ace asked.
"What?"
"If you wake up in a hospital tomorrow and realize none of this was real, what does it matter?" Ace said. "It's not gonna change that this feels real."
Felix was silent, mulling over the words.
"I think that, sometimes, it's best to just take things at face value," Ace continued. "Fucked-up things like the Entity exist? Alright. One of them yoinked us into its world for fun? Sure. Whether we like it or not, right now we're stuck here—might as well try to make the most of it."
"Don't you want answers?" Felix asked.
"What I want is to get the hell out of here," Ace huffed dryly.
Felix couldn’t remember Ace ever talking about an escape before. The gambler had always seemed surprisingly well-adjusted to their predicament, but he should have known that even the most optimistic person would be eager for the chance to find a way out of this nightmare.
"But since that's not on the table, I'll take the next best thing of living to see another day," Ace said. "And if I wake up in a real bed tomorrow and it was all a dream? Even better."
"Have you never thought about it? That this could just be a product of your mind?" Felix asked.
"Briefly, yeah," Ace said. Then he smiled. "But then I remembered how shit my imagination is. No way I would've been able to come up with something like this."
Felix huffed out a dry chuckle despite the situation.
"But it's probably easier for me," Ace said. "I know you tend to overthink things. And with the kind of year you've had? I'm kinda surprised you've adjusted so well."
Felix hadn’t thought about it that way. After the numerous panic attacks and freezing from fear in his first trials, Felix never considered himself particularly well-adjusted to his new existence. He owed most of his meager success to the people around him, always there to lend a hand and pull Felix up when he wasn't strong enough to do it himself.
And most of the time, that person had been Ace.
"I had some help," Felix said, offering a hesitant smile.
"Ah, true—almost forgot about Élodie," Ace grinned. "Must be nice, having a friend like that in a place like this."
Felix didn't have the heart to correct the assumption. Having the familiar face of a childhood friend among their teammates had no doubt been beneficial for both Felix and Élodie while they learned to survive this new world.
But it wasn't Élodie who had been by Felix's side those first months. It wasn’t her encouraging words that got through to Felix when he felt paralyzed from inaction, or her who took the time to involve him in the group when Felix was too lost in his own head to participate.
"It really makes a world of difference, having a good friend," Felix said.
Ace kept looking at him, until his face spread into a bright smile at the realization.
"Well, in that case, can I offer you some friendly advice?" Ace asked.
"Of course," Felix agreed.
"Don't get too wrapped up in the 'how's and 'why's," Ace said. "It's just gonna consume you. And…"
Felix waited as Ace paused in an unusual gesture of uncertainty.
"I'd hate to lose you," Ace said.
He was still smiling pleasantly, but his eyes betrayed his real emotion; it was the first time Felix had seen genuine fear in Ace's eyes. And it wasn't from a brutal mori or the hopelessness that they might never escape.
It was from the possibility of losing Felix.
"Alright," Felix said. "I'll try."
"It's a start," Ace said, his demeanor back to the usual playfulness. "You ready to head back?"
Felix realized he felt much calmer now than only minutes prior. There was still an uneasiness in the back of his mind due to the unspeakable horrors that haunted them on a daily basis, but he felt grounded. This wasn't just about him; no matter whether it aligned with the objective truth, this was their reality.
"I think so, yes," Felix said.
"'Atta boy," Ace said.
Ace's hand left his shoulder, and Felix immediately missed its warmth. The moment of camaraderie they had shared was exactly what he had needed. Even Ace seemed more at ease, his smile relaxed as he fell into step beside Felix.
"By the way," Ace said conversationally. "If this is all in your head, could I request you make it a little… I don't know, less guts and gore, more flowers and booze?"
Felix chuckled. "I can try."
"Oh, and while you're at it, can you give me one of those makeovers?" Ace said. "Make me like ten years younger? I think I’d look great in brown hair—ooh, and a six pack too!"
Felix listened to Ace ramble with a smile. It would never cease to amaze him how the seemingly lighthearted man could go from joking to serious and right back to silly banter in just a few short moments. Ace was like a bolt of lightning; chaotic in nature and gone in the blink of an eye, but always managing to calm the storm in Felix’s head.
"Ace?" Felix asked, interrupting Ace still talking about his hair.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you," Felix said.
Ace’s smile flashed bright and warm in the darkness surrounding them.
"Anytime."

Rapunzel (Fred Weasley X Ravenclaw!Reader)
A/N: This is for @wand3ringr0s3‘s 1.9K writing challenge and the prompt is I See The Light from Tangled!
Summary: Fred is always there for you. No matter if it’s your birthday, or if you’re just having a sleepless night.
Pairing: Fred Weasley X Ravenclaw!fem!Reader
Warnings: insomnia (Fred comforting reader!), post-war trauma, mention of war
Word count: 1.8K
(Disclaimer: I do not own the gif)
Tumblr media
Today’s your 18th birthday. Even though the atmosphere of the school was pretty intense with Umbridge in charge, you still had a pretty good birthday. Your friends threw you a little birthday party.
Everyone wished you Happy Birthday. Well, everyone except for one.
After the Weasley twins left the school, you’ve never heard from them since. You guys were good friends and you really missed them. Especially Fred.
Even George sent you a letter wishing you happy birthday, along with some samples of their new products, but Fred never showed up. Did he forget about your birthday? Or did he just forget about you?
You weren’t sure when did your stupid little crush on Fred Weasley began. Maybe it was when he stood up for you when Umbridge was going to punish you. Maybe it was when he made you laugh when you were crying because you got a bad grade in potions. Or maybe it was long before all of this.
How you became friends with Fred was a funny story. It was two years ago, you were just on your way back to your common room, but suddenly you tripped. You dropped all of your books and the potion project that you spent the entire last week working on. Watching the potion bottle scattered into pieces, your heart broke with it. You looked up and saw a boy with ginger hair gasped and soon escaped.
You recognized that was Fred Weasley. You two shared a few classes together and you hated to admit it, but he and his twin always had their way to capture your attention. How could they not? They always had so many strange ideas that never failed to intrigue you.
The next day, you successfully cornered him in the hallway. “Weasley! Why the hell did you trip me! I worked on that project for an entire week!”
He was surprised that someone suddenly cornered him, but he still had that cheeky smile, “Oh I think you got the wrong twin. I’m pretty sure it was George. I’ll go find him for you-”
“Oh I’m sorry. I must’ve made a mistake then.”
“It’s alright, people mix us up all the time.” He smiled and soon tried to escape you again. But just when he started walking, he tripped. You waved your wand and tied his shoelaces when he was still busy trying to come up with some excuses and alibi.
You walked in front of him and gave him a triumphant grin, “This is for my potion project. I know who you are, Fred Weasley.”
And then you just hopped away, leaving him still lying on the floor and that funnily, was the beginning of your friendship.
He was intrigued by your mind and your ideas just as how you were intrigued by his. You would always get him and George out of trouble just like how you could get them into trouble if you wanted to.
You felt ridiculous always checking the clock and fighting back the urge to check the owlery every other hour. If Fred couldn’t give you a birthday gift, maybe at least he could send you a letter?
Maybe his owl got lost. You knew the Weasley’s owl was a little silly.
Or maybe he already forgot about you. He’s got a business and everything, who would have time for you?
The clock in your room finally stuck 12. It was officially not your birthday anymore and he never showed up.
You fell on your pillow and your mind drifted to last year’s birthday. The twins dragged you to the shrieking shack, telling you that they need your help for a grand prank. You opened the door and found Ginny and the twins actually prepared a surprise party for you. But this year, you only had Ginny.
A knock on the window beside you brought you back from your memory. You got off your bed and walked to the window, gripping your wand tight for you didn’t know what might happen.
But when you opened the window, the scene successfully put a smile on your face. Enchanted little pebbles were flying up to knock on your window. Along with the pebbles, there was also a little note that read “Oi Rapunzel, let down your hair!” You knew that carefree handwriting way too well. It was Fred’s.
You flipped the note and the back of it read “meet you at the door”. You chuckled as the butterflies in your stomach started to dance.
As soon as you rushed downstairs, you heard someone arguing with the door knocker, “Seriously, why are you so stubborn? If a serial killer is chasing after a student and that student just couldn’t answer your stupid riddles, are you just gonna let that student die? This doesn’t make any sense!”
You giggled and opened the door to see Fred with his cheeks flushed and still panting. You guessed that he must have ran upstairs just now.
“Oh thank Merlin! Y/N!”
“How did you get into Hogwarts?”
“Hmmm, my determination to be here for you on your birthday has made me unstoppable?”
Your heart fluttered at his cheesy answer, but you still kept a straight face, “Yet, you are still late.”
But instead of Fred’s explanation, you heard the portrait on the wall complaining first, “So do you want to get in or out? You can’t just stand here with the door open!”
“Come!” Fred smiled at you and dragged you out of the common room.
“Where are you taking me!”
He brought you all the way to the astronomy tower. Thankfully, you guys didn’t run into Mr. Filch because Fred already knew the route too well.
You two sat down by the window. The weather was good tonight. The sky was clear and you could see the stars twinkling above. The chilly midnight breeze made the astrological instruments sing. You haven’t felt so peaceful in a while.
“Happy birthday Y/N.” Fred broke the silence first. He pulled out a bracelet from his pocket and placed it around your wrist. “I’m sorry I was late, but your present took me longer than I thought to make.”
“What is this Freddie?”
“Lumos.” He waved his wand and the bracelet lit up. Your eyes lit up too when you saw the bracelet on his wrist started to glow as well. “In case you missed the laughter and fun in your life, by that I mean, in case if you missed me, you can light up the bracelet and I will know.”
You stared at him, finding yourself speechless. A warm and tingling feeling started to rise in your heart and spread through your whole body.
“Don’t fall in love with me.” He laughed cheekily when he realized you were staring at him.
You looked at him and saw the light reflecting in his eyes. For a moment, it was as if your world has lit up, yet everything was in slow-motion.
Too late. That was the first thought that popped into your head
---
You woke up from the exploding and screaming in your nightmare. It was already three in the morning.
Nightmares and sudden palpitations were common problems that people who have been through the battle face and you weren’t an exception. You glanced at the calendar on your nightstand and felt slightly relieved when you made sure it was already a year after the war. Everything was fine. You were safe now.
You lied back and tried to sleep again, but the brutal scenes of the battle just refused to leave your head. After struggling for fifteen minutes, you finally gave up and got off bed.
You turned on all the lights in your room just to feel a little bit more secure, but the room was just so empty. You were craving for company. You missed Fred. You needed him.
You and Fred got together during the war, finally admitting that you couldn’t afford to lose each other. If the war left anything good in your life. There was that.
You wanted to see Fred, to talk to him, to hug him. You wanted to just apparate into his apartment right now. But you knew he was busy and had to wake up early tomorrow morning. Even though Fred told you that you could always go find him when you need him, but you just didn’t want to add to his burden. You knew it was your anxiety and insecurity lying to you, saying that you were a burden, but you just felt too exhausted tonight to shut them up.
So after debating in your head and listing out all the pros and cons, you decided to just light that bracelet. If you couldn’t cuddle him right now, at least the light from the bracelet could make you feel like he was right here with you.
Sleeping was probably not an option anymore tonight, so you decided to read a good book to distract yourself. But fifteen minutes later, you realized you were just staring at the pages without even reading the words. So you started to pace around in your apartment, trying to focus on all the corners that you didn’t pay attention to before.
Just when you were about to check that vase on your bookshelf for the third time tonight, you heard a knocking on your window. You immediately ran to the window, knowing too well what that meant.
A little note with “Rapunzel, let down your hair” written on it flew into your hand when you opened the window.
“Darling, are you alright?” You turned and saw Fred has already apparated into your apartment. “I’m sorry I’m a little late, the bracelet went under my pillow-”
His ramble was cut short when you rushed to hug him. He chuckled and lifted you up to carry you back to your bedroom. He placed you on the bed and tucked you in before joining you
You felt like you could finally breathe calmly as you were now secure in his embrace. You just felt so lucky to have him and a random question popped into your head.
“Freddie, when did you realize that you like me?”
“Hmm probably that day when you tied my shoelaces. I thought Merlin, this woman is going to be trouble.”
“Thank you very much,” you lightly pushed his arm to protest.
“I have a question for you too,” suddenly, he looked at you seriously, “how were you able to tell me and George apart at first?”
“Well, you are slightly taller than George and George’s voice is deeper than yours.” You simply listed out your observations.
“But these are all relative. That day when you tied my shoelaces, there was only me.”
“Or maybe it’s just cause I’m smart?”
He squeezed your waist at your cheeky answer and you squeezed his waist back.
“It’s your eyes,” you finally admitted, “George’s eyes are soft, but your eyes are bright. It’s like my whole world has lit up when I see the light in your eyes.”
He looked at you with his eyes widened. You giggled when you saw his expression, “What? Are you feeling touched? Don’t fall too deeply in love with me.”
He squeezed your waist again. But when you were about to attack him back, he pulled you closer and pressed a kiss on your forehead.
“Too late, darling. Already did.”
