just finished crying over my cats d*ath even tho he di*d june 30, 2021 and i would like to tell u dear reader about him. i would very much appreciate if u continued reading, but if u choose not to, thank u for at least reading this.

this was him. his name was sonny and he was a lovely cat. he was found outside of a shelter. my mom and i theorize someone dumped him there after he grew out of his kitten phase because he was well fed and loved people. my mom and big sister walked into the shelter while my younger brother n i were in a double stroller. we were being loud and all the other cats stayed away, but sonny stayed right where we was. he was okay with the noise and the craziness. one day, when i was in fifth grade, i came home and he was laying there in my bed. he never left after that day.

he loved fancy feast (was the only food he would eat) and party mix treats. he liked to sleep on the right side of my bed and would purr in his sleep. he liked to play with those worms on a string and his favorite litter was fresh step. he liked to go outside in the backyard and sit on the roof, but he would never ever go into the street or hurt another animal. he liked to watch tv shows and bird livestreams. he was a good cat. he was my first baby.

i now have another orange tabby whose name is pickles. theyre very different but very similar. i like to think sonny sent pickles to me.

i need everyone to know that it never does get easier or less painful. they will absolutely leave an animal shaped hole in ur heart.

but please dont let that grief hold u back from continuing to live ur life. they want u to continuing living.

grief is just love with nowhere to go

Finally got a good picture of Papyrus.

Introductions between him and Urist seem to be going well so far. Urist is moving in slow motion and scolding him with chatters when he surprises her, but there has been mutual butt-sniffing and ears-up, playful-looking batting at each other. No hissing so far, either!

He’s still getting shut in the bathroom when I can’t supervise them for a little longer, but I think it is safe to say my new little kitter is settling in well enough.
