It makes me worry I'm not going hard enough, you know? The Optimal Amount of Posting Cringe Is Not Zero. I should shade my posting a little more towards the open-hearted and earnest and speculative, is what that seems like. If you're right about everything you're probably not saying much.

Do you ever think about them?

The one who was loud and passionate and a little too excitable. The one who covered their ears when ambulances passed by. The one who couldn't do their chores. The one who was equal parts smart and slow. The one who spent most of their recesses inside and near tears. The one who was pulled out of art to do math instead. The one who would stare at strangers because to them, each person was equally fascinating.

The one who learned to quiet down, because "shy" is better than "obnoxious". The one who learned to do their chores because otherwise there would be nothing but filth and punishment. The one who can't bring themselves to look anybody in the eyes anymore. The one who's still overwhelmed but knows better than to show it. The one who still feels stupid.

Do you ever think about the people around them? Teachers? Parents? Peers? Do you ever wonder if they're sorry for what they've done?
