So glad I got my Starfish and Kelp Gansy done in time for the cold weather!! I started back in April but it’s been on the back burner for a few projects in the meantime.
My last sweater was my mohair which I love— but frankly I was DONE knitting such a fluffy fiber for a while and I really wanted a nice proper grandpa sweater as a palate cleanser 😂 I’ve wanted a Gansy sweater ever since I listen to an interview with Alice Starmore on Hebridean knitting
This worked up nicely and was done mostly in the round- I dislike knitting sleeves flat so I converted the sleeves to be done in the round as well which was a very easy fix that didn’t mess up the saddle shoulder. Also, I shortened the length of the body and sleeves since I’m much shorter than the intended sizing.
I used just over 2 skeins of Jody Long’s Andeamo Lite in the color way “Moonstone”- it has a wonderful slightly toothy texture for showing off my cables :)
I'm in the process of reorganising my stash so I decided to take photos of everything, today I sorted out my 100% plant fibres. These are only yarns that aren't currently in WIPs or bagged up in project bags ready to be started, there'll be a photo of all those projects in the future.
The first photos are all from VeganYarnUK, a wonderful UK based dyer who sells all sorts of plant yarns which she hand dyes, I'm in love with her sock yarn which is organic cotton, tencel and elastic. Second photo is everything else plant fibre that's not from her store.
Want a sweet Cardigan pattern?? Want to give an unemployed trans girl some money for pride month?? You can do both!!! Just head over to my ravelry store
