This is actually a Stardew Valley au, though no knowledge of the game is needed (as I have none and still enjoyed it). It's got some heavy themes though, so mind the tags. Totally worth it if you can read it though, it's what got me into Messier's fics (which are all amazing, especially the spice).

This is a MadaTobi fic in a kinda loose way, as Madara is an inmate at a prison, and Tobirama is a horse, but they bond. It's cute, and a little funny seeing Madara become the Horse Girl tm. Definitely worth a read.

Modern cop Tobirama who requires help from a hired killer Madara for a special case after something happens and his suspect walks free, allowing them to kidnap his younger brothers.

"I honestly don't even remember what exactly had drawn me into MdTb in the first place, since I posted my first fic for this ship in 2017 and I definitely treated it as a crack ship at the beginning. I suppose it was Raendown's enthusiasm for what back then was still a rarepair, she was a well of hilarious ideas that inspired a whole lot of other wonderful people. It's great that since then, the ship has gained so much popularity, if anyone told us six years ago that there would be over three thousand works for this ship on AO3, we wouldn't believe him. I'm definitely happy and proud to see the little community still flourishing."

Thoughts on soulmate aus and popular variants like names written on the skin, sharing scars, soul marks, etc?

Okay so I actually love soulmate AUs 🥺💕
I know the plots are usually very simple, but I don't really care. It's one of those things that just bring joy, you know?
My favourite is definitely sharing pain/scars/tattoos and first words, though I think I honestly enjoy all of the variants in some way. These are just my go-to. The least fave is probably things like timers. No specific reason, just personal preference.
I feel like especially for fandoms like Naruto sharing pain etc and first words pack the most impact. For my current OTP, mdtb, they just hit the spot. I actually got into the fandom in the first place via the soulmate shorts series by @raendown 😅 (btw if you by some miracle haven't read that series of oneshots, you should give it a go for sure!)
In the future I'm hoping to post more within this trope too. I have two comic ideas and a few fic WIPs waiting to be finished, so ya know. Sth to look forward to, I guess (if you happen to be a mdtb shipper).

A lost Sambucky fic
When I recently asked about another lost story I found the answer very quickly, so let’s do it again. Maybe someone remembers this one too :>
It was a fic from the “Sam finds Bucky before Civil War” subgenre. The main part of the story was that before the two of them had a real face to face conversation, Bucky kept communicating with Sam through notes and photos. Then the relationship slowly escalated until, eventually, Bucky let Sam see him and actually talk to him.
Other details I remember that might be helpful:
- I think it was written towards the end of 2021. Or at least after tfatws, not like... six years ago.
- The story was quite long, but you could read it at once. Probably over 12k words, but it couldn’t be much longer than 20k words.
- Sam gave Bucky a notebook (I think) and Bucky kept writing in it at night while Sam slept next to him.
- Steve and Natasha never found out the these two have met.
- I’m pretty sure that they went on a date at the end of the story in Japan on Korea and I believe that before that Bucky kept running away to places Sam wanted to visit to give him an excuse to go there.
- At the beginning Sam was kind of scared of Bucky since he didn’t know his intentions and he saw Bucky’s attempts at communicating as a threat.

If you know this one I’d really appreciate the title or a link :D Also, I recommend reading it. It was kind of unique for this subgenre of Sambucky fics because of that premise.
